I just stumbled on this site and I am hoping that this will be the thing that will help me create a healthy lifestyle, lose the weight (again!) and keep it off this time. I have yo-yo'd so much in the past ten years....I just want to do the work this time and then keep it off and continue with the healthy lifestyle. I am hoping that I can make some great connections through this website and find the encouragement and accountability that I need to keep my butt in line! Please send me any helpful information that you may have. I have a two week kickoff of the Ideal Protein diet and want to kick off my weight loss with that program!

Welcome to 3FC and to this journey!! Good luck with the Ideal Protein Diet! It looks like a great plan! I'm counting calories for now. In the last year I've done hCG, and Atkins. Now it's Bodybugg and counting. The loss is slow, but it's coming off. Please update us on how it goes!

Please make sure to take your before picture, and your measurements! I started last year at 212, before I started posting here. Using a tripod, I took pictures of myself and then I put the memory card away. I have never looked at them! I couldn't bring myself to see them then, and I'm not ready now. I've taken more pictures since then. I'll be pleased to share them all when I reach my goal in the section of 3FC.

Measurements are just another point of reference, and it's nice to see the change in inches over time.

I also just joined 3FC. I have struggled with my weight after my last pregnancy in which I gained 40 lbs and haven't lost it yet. Its been 8 years so I can't call it "the baby weight" anymore. I have been yo-yo dieting for the past couple months. I know I need to get out and walk as well as eat healthy and drink lots of water. I tend to be a binger when stressed, depressed or fatigued which always blows my diet. It doesn't help that there's always free food in the breakroom at work. I am hoping to find support and inspiration in this forum.

First of all, I could have written this! I also gained baby weight... EIGHT YEARS AGO... and still haven't taken it off. I'm working on it - 15 more pounds of that, then the other 40 pounds, once and for all! :)

And welcome Sadie - you and I are similar heights and weights, so let's support each other on this journey, okay? GL with your Ideal Protein - I'm another calorie counter, so I'll be interested to see how it works for you!

I just joined yesterday but I've been dieting since June 2011 and have lost 60 pounds so far. I walk and diet. The hardest part was the 4 month mark when I just didn't lose weight no matter what I did. My body had gotten used to the diet and excerise. It happens to everyone so have a plan in place before it does. What I've researched is to change the excerise and the diet at that point. I have and I've startd lossing again. Good Luck.

Welcome to all the newbies! This is a great site. Keep coming here, especially when you're struggling. My latest in a series of mistakes was avoiding this site when things weren't going well!

Hi. I just joined a few minutes ago. I'm ready to diet. I've never actually tried to diet before. Until about 10 years ago, I didn't really think I had a weight issue. I think I got fat and happy. I wasn't heavy until I got married and I adopted more of my husband's preferences then what I used to do. I got comfortable and complacent. After a recent health scare with him, and necessary and immediate steps we've both taken to correct that, I'm ready to do more, have more, and be more. Thank you for reading this and I look forward to meeting many of you as we support each other. Have a great day!

I've been coming here and reading the blogs for awhile and finally joined a few days ago. It looks like a real good place to make some connections and find and give support.
4 years ago I weighed 233 lbs. I lost 60 lbs in 6 months. 18 lbs on my own first, then started weight watchers (only by getting the information I needed to count points). I never joined and paid them. I had a friend whose mother and grandmother did WW years ago and she brought me the info for me to copy. It worked really well. I was soooooooo ready to get rid of the weight after I saw in an accident report that I was listed as obese. I had never really thought I was THAT bad before then. That forced me to give myself a really good look. I also got married for the second time in August 2006. And after looking at the photos, I was convinced it had to go. I was not happy with my appearance at all. Food and my weight were controlling my life and I didn't like it.
Now I have been stuck in the 170's for 3 1/2 yrs. I get down to 170 and then something happens and I start gaining again. I think it has to do with fear of some kind, but cannot nail it down. It is very frustrating. I recently was back up to 177 and decided it was time, yet again, to start being "serious" about counting my points and losing the weight to finally reach my goal once and for all. I again got down to 170, and now back up to 174.....arrggghhhh. Anyone else struggling with this issue?

Hoping to make some new friends here.

I've been here about 2 weeks. I've found it to be quite a fun site. I've stumbled upon a few people that have very similar stories to mine. And they are at their goal weight. So it's just an extra little push. The success stories seem to be the best part of the forum for me. It's so inspiring and it's helped to keep me on track.
I hope you all find it as helpful as I have!
Good Luck!
I believe in you!
Tessa

Hi all, I am new too. Looking at the posts here I am like a lot of you and stumbled on this site. I found it by googling 120lb weight loss success stories. And I found a bunch! Like you tessilette I needed some inspiration. I have lost about 40lbs so far, doing WW Points Plus, but it's tough! My start weight was 300+, my goal is 180, but I'll take anything 199 or less. Look forward to posting here! Hope

I love this site and come whenever I need new ideas or have a question.

I also make a point of trying to give back when I visit. I try to post a word of congratulations or motivation when and where I can with the time I can spend.

I think this is the best site on the net for support!

Best wishes everyone!

Hi all, I came across this site by accident and i'm really glad I did. I was reading through the forums and find a lot of the information very useful.

I am going to start trying "again" to lose weight in 2012. I think having the support of this site it may be possible this time.

I was doing a search on the P.I.N.K. Method and stumbled upon this site. Turns out the PINK Method is not for me, but this site is! So glad I found it! I find great inspiration and support right here.

I'm new too! I would love some weight loss buddies. I see an eating disorder therapist and she's great, but it's always fun to have others to chat with. :carrot:
