Default what does goal look like to you?

i keep on daydreaming about what it will be like to be at goal and i realized for different people, goal looks different. i'm curious as to what goal looks like to other people.

i'll start

for me, goal means that i will have a flat belly-- i will not have to suck it in and will be able to wear a bikini without shame. i will not have to hold all my fat in place when i get waxed (tmi, i'm sure). my thighs will not rub together when i run to the point of painfully chafing. my husband will be able to pick me up whenever he wants and i be smaller than him-- (5'11" with a 33 inch waist)

what about you guys?

To me, goal looks like (In no particular order):

1) Looking good in a dress and not having to wear spanx to avoid chub rub.
2) Finally reaching a healthy bmi.
3) Going to the Dr's and not having to talk about my weight as it is not an issue.
4) Feeling happy and confident about myself.
5) Finally my body matching my fit and active personality-I want to climb mt kilimanjaro and do a jungle trek for charity, and generally be able to run around day to day without having to stop or have a break.

- Feeling strong and light on my feet
- Walking into a trendy clothing store and being able to wear anything on any rack (goodbye plus sizes)
- Feeling more comfortable in form-fitting clothes and dresses
- Reaching a healthy weight and weight not being an issue anytime I see a doctor
- Feeling sexy and slim enough to confidently wear lingerie and not hiding from my boyfriend when I'm changing clothes/just out of the shower. Can't wait to treat myself to pretty bra and panties!

Great question! My answer would be super long if I listed everything, I think, but some main things are:

--My thighs DON'T RUB. They always have. I didn't learn until I was like 14 that not everyone's thighs rubbed. I was shocked.

--I can wear almost whatever style of clothing I want (I'm beyond sick of picking things that show the least amount of fat rolls and not because I actually like the clothing).

--I can be lifted with relative ease. I've always wanted this. I also worry that if I ever collapsed or got injured on a hike or something, who would be able to carry me if needed? (I'm not obese, but I am overweight).

-- And above all, I want to feel comfortable in my body, not claustrophobic like I was really badly when I was obese, and even now to a great degree. I hate it, because I can't escape it right away if I want. Sometimes I do feel trapped by it. Ugh.

For me, goal looks like:

-A healthy bmi
-Shopping for clothes based on what I like instead of what fits the best

- Going to any store and not having to buy anything larger than a 6.

- Standing next to my husband of the same height (we are both 5'6.25'') and having people think I am the small one.

- Feeling sexy again in jeans and a tight shirt.

-Turning heads when I walk into a room... like I used to.

Goal will be being at a weight that I know an average adult male could pick me up off my feet.

Goal will be wearing a swimsuit.

Goal will be not having a muffin top or fat rolls that come over my bra band.

Goal will be allowing my full body picture to be taken and NOT want to cry when I see them.

This is hard.

I want to be able to wear a long shirt with tights without feeling like I look pregnant.

I want to be able to be smaller than my husband for ONCE in my life (we've been together for 6 years this september and I've always always always weighed more than him.. and recently he's gained a little weight but still very healthy.. he's 5'8 and weighs like 140 and I just want to be smaller!)

I want to be able to jog up some stairs without dying because I am so out of shape.

I want my grandma to stop offering her clothes to me....

I want to feel awesome when I look in the mirror

a killer wardrobe

and this weight monkey off my back.

I don't know how realistic this is. I will likely always have to watch my weight. And they make clothes for people my size. I just don't want to buy clothes my size. That is an issue that may follow me.

I know some of the things listed above are just not realistic for me (thighs not rubbing together and buying clothes off the rack) just from own experience when I used to be thin (my thighs have always rubbed together and shirts in most stores are just not made to fit a J cup). So my goals are somewhat different:

- Hit a health BMI
- Not put as much pressure on my joints due to being overweight
- Be in a size 8 or less (most of the time, obviously it depends on the brand)
- Have a 28" waist or under
- Be able to deadlift my body weight
- Have defined arms (my right arm is pretty well-defined but not my left yet!)
- Hopefully cut back a lot of the flab on my stomach still
- Be happy with my body even with the expected stretch marks and loose skin
- Be at a point where I'm not thinking about losing more weight and I just want to maintain (and buy an awesome wardrobe! )

For me being at my goal means:

Feeling more powerful than my food: I am tired of feeling controlled by cravings and emotions and stress making me turn to food. I want to control my eating and make healthier choices based on my body's needs not wants.

Being able to feel like I can pull my own weight I want to know I can do things lifting my own weight like push-ups, squats, maybe even chin-ups or tricep dips.

Looking healthy - I want people to look at my and say "that girl must workout" or "she always eats healthy" instead of people saying I look tired or acting surprised when I say I just worked out.

Those would be some exciting accomplishments for me.

Just be happy with my body!!

My face and acne scarring I can't do much about (without some serious cash, I guess) but this I can! I'm not there yet, but I like it more and more.. I think I kind of have hope that this can actually be done. I can go down to 135lbs and maintain! But these last 5-10lbs are killing me It's sooooo slooooow!

-Being able to walk for miles at a time and not feel out of breath or tired
-A smaller waist - under 28" (as someone else mentioned)
-Fitting into my size 9s again, and possibly even my size 7s
-Having a flat-ish stomach (I'd like to bounce a quarter off it, but I'm realistic and would be happy to have it reasonably flat)
-Looking good in a bikini again (I never stopped wearing one, I just didn't look as good in one as I used to)
