Thanks Den, Thanks Squeak...I'm printing out the last five photos for DD's godmother's scrapbook from our trip to Disney. They had all been printed but yesterday I left DD's empty cereal bowl in the family room...well empty except for about five ounces of milk...ummmm...and then I kicked the tray table over that the bowl was sitting on...the tray table crashed to the floor and DD and I were just staring at each other getting ready to celebrate because amazingly the cereal bowl flew off of the tray table and landed right on DD's little kid plastic table...right side up!!!! Then I realized that the milked had spattered on some of the photos...but, really, at least I didn't have to clean milk up off of my carpet!

Anyway, I'll be finished this by tomorrow...would have it done tonight but sometimes the prints stay alittle damp and the ink can smudge so I may not try to cut and paste them until tomorrow.

I finally rented Austin Power's Goldmember last night. It was cute, funny. We're going to watch Men in Black II tonight. Hope that is funny. Working on building my immune system through laughter

The kid started with conjunctivitis yesterday. In one eye so far. Of course she'll be banned from school. Mine has lasted ten days so far! Hope the kid gets better more quickly. She'll be the an insane caged animal if I have to keep her home for two weeks. I'm so completely boring for her...not to mention how her mommies will have to juggle our schedules and I already missed all of last week as I was sick...oy vay!!

I'll stop moaning and groaning because lets face it...life is good and conjunctivitis is a nuisance but it gets better and goes away...thankfully, blessedly!

I'll get back to the gym again soon Squeaky! I know it is a place you despise but I do love it. It makes me feel so strong and healthy! My legs still look better even though I haven't exercised for a week. Though the scale says I've gained about 3 pounds...I think I'm repeating myself now so..

TTYL girlies!
Love, Soozie

Hello everyone!

Well, I did it... got a new car over the weekend. As much as I loved my 2000 Grand Vitara, I had a gut feeling something was wrong with it. The engine ticked like mad and the tranny had already been replaced at 16k - teaches me to buy a first model year I guess! So, I leased a 2003 Grand Vitara, with a warranty that covers bumper to bumper 7 years 75k. It's beeeeautiful and so much different than my old car - this thing is luxury!!!! Can't wait to drive to town this afternoon!

Lidian - Thanks for your comments on my visit. I talk to him every week, for about 20 minutes, then we run out of things to say. WHAT I'm going to do with him and his wife for 2 1/2 days is beyond me, but I'll figure something out. I'm looking forward to the trip more now than I was last week - but yes, I'm also looking forward to having it behind me and back in my own little comfort zone.

Soozie - Glad you're feeling better - but be careful of that pink eye! I had it once where it moved into my throat & sinuses - not a pleasant infection to have... I'm sending you a case of virtual anti-bacterial gel!

Well, I ate like a :ink: all weekend and I'm up a pound. But, my big stresses - planning my trip and buying/trading in my car, are all done now and I can refocus on ME!!!!
Next weekend I have to monitor the city bowling tournament so I have to figure what to do instead of eating crappy bowling alley food. Can't bring food in (I will sneak some snacks) so I'll have to really think on this...

Hugz,
Terri

Ok - silly thing but I am so happy it is raining this morning. It rained a lot last night too. Normally I wouldn't be that thrilled, but it means it is warm enough out to rain instead of snow! :)

Ok, gotta grab breakfast.

Hey Squeak darling... glad to hear you're relaxing... hope everything is going well. Hugs... xoxo

Soozie, how are you feeling? How is little DD? Hope you're all well!

Terri, that's great news about the new car! I hope it's a good one!

DD is home sick today with a bad cough. We're going to watch The Banger Sisters together in bed. :D
I need to call the doctor's office to make her an appointment for a general checkup, but I HATE calling there!! I'm on hold forever, and then when I DO get the receptionist, she's completely lacking in social skills. I'm ready to have a stroke by the time I'm finished with her.

Have a lovely day all!

katrinabgood
02-10-2003, 01:16 PM
Hey, I'm sick too, ellis, can I come over and watch the Banger Sisters too? I'll bring my own tea and honey. Wasn't it you that had the sore throat remedy with cider vinegar? I called my doc and he was swamped (Thank God) so he will call something into the pharmacy for me...good! I hate sitting, shivering in the waiting room.

On the bright side, unless I get my appetite back between now and tomorrow morning, I am down 6 lbs from last week's weigh in...talk about a silver lining!

02-10-2003, 01:36 PM
Kat, you sweet thing... of COURSE you can come and cozy up with us. :D
I'm glad you got a prescription. Our medical office won't allow call-in prescriptions anymore, the miserable sods. VERY annoying when you've got something that you can self-diagnose because you get it several times a year. Like a UTI.

Hey, congratulations on the 6 pounds! Keep it off!! And get better soon.
Oh... 1 tsp of cider vinegar in a glass of water. It's a preventative measure, not a cure. ;)

ps... the movie was a hoot.

Kat - Sorry you aren't feeling well. But congrats on the 6 lbs!

Ellis - I have no problem calling the doctor's office, I just don't like going. I hope your DD is feeling better too.

I haven't had much time to myself, so when I do get it, I have been really trying to relax. I spent more time at work on Sunday then I do on a normal day. :p

02-10-2003, 05:29 PM
Come on over, Squeak darling! We'll have a fat friends convention. We'll get a couple of boxes of those chocolate laxatives, some good chick flicks, and what... wine? Is there no-cal wine? :D
xoxo

Lidian
02-10-2003, 08:33 PM
Well, if there isn't, there should be! Wine should be in a calorie free zone I think...I just take a sip out of DH's glass so I don't drink too many of my calories, unless of course it has been VERY stressful! And then I get me a glass and fill er up!

Speaking of laxatives, you know those sugar-free toffees are just like Ex-Lax...can't remember the brand, and maybe now they are different but I recall years ago having a bag of sugar-free toffees and - well! My goodness! Then I finally read the bag and there was a teeny little disclaimer about eating too many at once (hee hee) - who knew there was a disclaimer on a bag of candy? And to think there are people who don't eat the whole bag at once (it was a pretty small bag too!)!

I could eat a whole box of chocolates in one evening! After I had my second child I ate a whole bag of Chunks Ahoy (no kidding!) in about an hour one evening because I figured I was going to lose so much postpartum, I might lose too much at once (as if!). Also my in-laws were there helping and being, well, helpful, and I needed the chocolate chips!!

Ellis and Kat and Soozie, hope you all feel better soon. Sit down or lie down as much as possible and let someone else do whatever! That is what doctors ought to write in their prescriptions, dontcha think? "This woman MUST lie on a couch and be waited on" - "Naps and a stack of fun magazines, to be taken three times daily" - that kind of thing...

And hi to everyone else!

Lidian

02-11-2003, 01:35 AM
Lidian...I like your prescriptions! I think those sugar free candies contain Sorbital, which is the culprit..stear clear! Of course, moderation in all things is the key! Ha! Do we know what that word means?

Actually, I have managed to lose 13 lbs total since Jan...this illness gave me a big push. Hey, I'll take a loss however I can get it! Just wish those HORSE PILLS (Amoxicillin) kick in soon! Wouldn't you think they'd prescribe a liquid med for someone with a sore throat, and not pills that are the size of jelly beans?

Okay...I'm going back to bed now, thanks for the good wishes, see you tomorrow!

Eeewwwww.... thanks for the warning with the Sorbitol! I shall avoid it like the plague!

To all you sickies - Get better soon and quit breathing on each other!

Nothin' much going on here. I'm tired and need a break - however, there's none in site, other than weekends. I think I finally convinced my stepfather of this when a client called and my Mom said his last name only - I was able to tell her his first name, what city he worked in, what company he worked for and what day he needed to be scheduled. My stepfather looked at me and said "you knew all that from a last name? You need to get out of here for about 6 months!". Yes, thank you, I do!

This weekend's plans (yea, I know it's only Tuesday); watching movies borrowed from a friend and starting on the Monty Python DVD collection I borrowed from her husband!

Get well soon, Ellis and Kat! You poor things...wish I could come look after you and bring you some hot tea and a People magazine!

I don't know what Wiarton Willie was thinking or what he was looking at but he is clearly very confused. This is no short winter! Maybe he needs to get out a bit more. Or has had too much sleep - or not enough, like me! Mind you I don't climb out of my hole and check for my shadow in front of a huge crowd of dignitaries. Wouldn't that be a show! Me, all grumpy, in pajamas, clumping onto the porch, have a quick look around, and go back to bed!

Sounds like a weekend morning, without the admiring crowd (which is a good thing)!

Yes, Sorbitol - Sobees candy - that's it! Yeah, that was quite exciting. No more for me, thank you!

I think my oldest DD will be getting her annual coldfest soon. Her best friend was coughing right in DD's face the other day, after school. Too late for me to stop it - laughing and coughing all at once! What a sight...

Juuuus' waiting for the weekend so I can put an end to the last 2 weeks of ****. It's been a long 2 weeks....

Found out yesterday that my girlfriends from CA are coming up in April - I'm thrilled!

I had a dream last week. I started smoking a couple of cigarettes a day to help me lose weight. It seemed sort of decadent, so instead of eating, I'd have a "decadent cig". It was actually working.
Now don't start lecturing, girls. I'm NOT going to start smoking. There are three (at least three) things that I'm not capable of buying without causing myself grievous embarrassment. National Enquirer/type magazines, cigarettes, and lottery tickets. And I'd have to be dead for you to get me into a Casino. :D
Oh, and I've never been drunk, because I wouldn't want anyone to see me acting in a ridiculous manner. Ahhhh... self-preservation!

Hey girls, Sorry to have been away so long. Looks like a bunch of us had some winter viruses. My little DD is doing well. She gets sick and springs back so quickly.

I didn't go to the gym for three weeks and being sick but not having tummy aches, I ate lots of comfort food! Haven't been getting weighed but I'm feeling better and ready to get back on track. want to get back to the gym but we have so much snow coming down right now I don't know if I'll get there for a couple more days.

Hopefully, I'll get motivated to do a tape at home or shovel some of the snow! Yesterday I went out with DD and she was sledding down the little beach onto our lake. She only would go out about three feet onto the lake where the water is about six inches deep and frozen SOLID. But, she kept asking me to push her and help her carry the sled back up the beach so I got some major cardio work in! Our beach isn't too steep so its perfect for little guys to sled down. however, this time we had so much snow that I really had to give her a major push to get her going and sometimes she'd get stuck and I'd have to run down and give her another push.

We have a neighbors right across the street with two little boys. One of the boys is my DD's best buddy. Little buddy was out there with his Daddy so the four of us had a blast and then we all....me, DD, DP, and the neighbors had hot cocoa and hung out for awhile.

Nice to have good neighbors.
Nice to read and check in with all of you.
take care girls, I'll try to be back soon...now that I'm finally feeling better.
Love, Soozie

Soozie, did we wake you up? :D You poor girl. You've been sick for SO long! Ease back into the exercising... don't overdo it and get sick again.
Sounds like little DD is having a riot with all the snow you've been getting. :) How nice that she has a little male friend. My DD's best friend is a boy. There's no "romance"... they've been friends for almost 5 years, and are like brother and sister. It's nice to be comfortable around both sexes. I HATE it when people tease kids about having a friend of the opposite sex. Besides, how do they know the kid isn't gay, and is having a hayday with a friend of the SAME sex!!

Den dear, I will put my purple hat on immediately. :D It's funny you know... I'm really stuffy about some things, but like you, I've come out of my shell and now I'm really outgoing and "bizarre" at times. I'm ALWAYS talking to people in public. I think I'm taking after my Mom, who is a bit of an actor/clown. It's amazing the number of people out there who are thrilled to have a snicker with someone they don't know.

Thanks, Den... I'm starting to feel better. Still have a terrible cough (with a MAJOR headache!), but my throat isn't raw anymore.
My sweet sister brought me over some grapes, this wicked juice made from whole strawberries, bananas, etc (no water added!), and some other stuff. Oh! One of the birthday gifts she gave me was this cream from The Body Shop. It's called, ummm, Nut Butter. I think. Oh my gosh girls, you've got to get some. You want to eat yourself when you put it on. Virginia, Ellis, Den, and Squeak, thanks for the welcome back!!!!
Good to be back. Yeah, too much being sick. It sucked. Trying to get lots of sleep...not on track with my food yet though. gotta get the whole health package rolling.

I always wear what I like and sometimes have worn very flamboyant clothing. I have my own style and I don't care what people think. Purple is one of my favorite colors. When I was younger I was an all black clothing girl as you know but now I relish color!!!!! I also talk to strangers all of the time. Make little jokes and comments...smile...you know, that practice random acts of kindness thing...I let people in to my lane when I'm driving...etc. I don't know if my sense of humor would be considered an act of kindness...but, I like it so...and it's never mean or hurtful... ;)

My mother always smiled at strangers and said hello or made little conversation or tried to say something humorous...it mortified me and now I'm her and DD gets embarassed by me...ah, the circle of life...it moves us all....
till we find our place, on the path unwinding, in the circle of life....;)

I bought it for DD when she was a little rug rat and she used to call it her "pour-si-pine" which I also adored.

It was such a bummer when we took her to speech therapy...no more cute baby talk mispronounciations...just very clear articulate speech...darn! Can you believe we paid for that! They grow up too too fast!

Good morning ladies,

Nothing new going on in my neck of the woods.
Oh....cept I had a big fight with my ex husbands's wife! The *****!I have never hated someone so badly in my life as I do her. And it's not because she married my ex husband, it's because she's a miserable, S.O.B., the wicked step-mother, and because my ex husband hardly has any brains for himself, she has to do all the thinking and talking and decsion making for them both!
Anyways, I've been taking dd to the orthadontist for about 6 months now. Waiting for her front permanent teeth to come in, taking x-rays, taking molds of her mouth etc. All this time knowing that something was going to have to be done to correct her teeth. Which I have told my ex about too. Well, yesterday I went to the orthadontist and we are taking action to starting phase 1 of 2 in the correction of dd's teeth. She needs spacers and something else, don't know the name off the bat, but they need to make room in her mouth for when her adult molars come in and they are trying to fix ther 50% overbite as well. This whole process is 3100. She has to wear the apparatus for 12-15 months and she will be wearing a head gear at night time as well. Anyways.....I went to my ex's work to tell him about the outcome. He had a fit. (we have a court agreement that we each pay half of all major expenditures if we are financially capable) He said he might as well take a loan out yadda yadda yadda. I told him I needed half of 625 by March 10 and that after that I will need half of 167 every month for the next 15 months. Well, later that night his wife calls me and jumps all over me saying we want a second opinion and that he's only out for the money yadda yadda yadda. I ended up hanging up on the witch cause she made me so mad! I waited till my dh came home, told him what happened and made him call her up and talk to her because I just couldn't!
So as it stands right now, we are getting my dd off of her step mom's insuracne(we didn't have insurance at one point and therefore dd was put on her step-mom's)and put on dh's and we are going to submit the claim. I do know they will pay up $1500 for orthadontal treatmeant and that's it. My ex and his wife are going to be even more pissed because after phase 1 there is phase 2 which will be braces on dd's top front and bottom front 4 teeth which could cost up to 2900!

On another note.......

I'm starting Day five of week 1 on Body For Life Challenge. Doing great. As of yesterday I've lost 4 lbs since Monday and I'm gaining muscle mass! LOL

Hope everyone else is doing great. Sorry for not posting to you individually but I took up so much time posting that I have to run and hit the gym now!

Talk to you all soon.

HEY Kelly,
Sorry you are having such a hard time with your ex-husband and his wife. Do not envy you at all. However, I am very please to hear you are doing Body For Life. Nice to have a fellow BFL member on the forum. I am currently on Challenge 2 Week 4 Day 2. I love it! I get so pumped up after the gym, exhausted but pumped at the same time. I have been struggling with my clean eating this week and the past one, but will get back on track. Have eaten clean today! Go for the 10's girl!

My DH just said, "What did he die of? Boredom?"
HOW RUDE!!!

I dunno about that sweater and shoe business. Some sort of ritualistic thing that a psychologist could tell us a great deal about.

Okay, this peri-menopause stuff is too damned much! It's quarter to four in the morning, and for the third time this week I've woken up DRENCHED with sweat. My side of the bed is soaked, and I had to get up and change. Not sure where to lay my head now... the cold spare room? the messy tv room?
curses...

I had to break the news about Mr. Rogers to my five year old yesterday, I watched him everyday while growing up...was glad he was around long enough for my Nola to watch too. The shoe and sweater bit was a transition for kids to go into make believe (when he arrived) and leave it (when he put back on his sportin' wear). He was a pioneer in the realm of make believe.

O.K. enough about Fred...have a fav to ask you all.

I have a giant A&P test this morn. and I think I might benefit from some collective prayer that I'll actually pass the d@*m thing!
It's on the endocrine system and blood types, stages of blood clotting....ick..
Happy Friday

Thanks all you beautiful ladies, I think I passed but I'm sure I didn't get my usual A. Not sweating that thought as my teacher kinda rounds everything out in the end. Have a super wonderful fab. weekend.
blessings,
