My name is Daniel and I stumbled across this site on accident. It just so happens I have started a new life change two days ago and have been searching the net for a source of inspiration. Currently I am at my heaviest weight ever at around 455. I have always been the the big kid so to speak. I remember being in 8th grade and weighing 290 pounds and 6'3. I was made fun of alot until I reached high school and was immediately brought to the football coaches door. I enjoyed 6 years of being physically fit and somewhat lean. I was eventually injured and stopped playing sports. That was okay with me because I was with the girl of my dreams and I wanted to focus my time on that. Being so happy and in love and still eating like a starving football player I gained a good 100 lbs.. and stayed that way for quite some time. So there I am 2 years ago and going through a divorce and bam!!! 50 more lbs... I have a beautiful 5 year old son and I desperately want to be here for him and among other things enrich my life by losing weight and being able to physically enjoy the things I love. I just wanted to throw a little about myself out their in hopes of getting to meet other fine people in the same spot as me. P.s. I am excited because I start a new diet tomorrow. The box of food is in the mail.

Hi BD and welcome. You've already taken the first and most important steps - 1) Recognizing that there is a problem, and 2) Taking action. Form a plan, keep up #2, and you will reach your goals!
