Here is a pic of the jewelry I made for my pirate costume. :) The photo doesn't do it justice, on the choker I used black swarovski crystals and regular crystals. Nice sparkle to it. Not sure if I will change the style of the choker or add another necklace. Pirates are all about their jewels! LOL I need a couple more bracelets though. I am looking for huge rhinestones for one.

Well, I got through that rough patch with my project. Ended up with a B, well you win some and you lose some. I am soooo tired, but yet I sit here.
Hmm, I ate low carb yesterday, and my milk supply dwindled. Today, I got into a batch of cookies at my son's get together, and my supply started to pick back up. Please! tell me I can go lower than this without damaging my supply.
btw, bad bad bad jen. I ate a bunch of junk, but started out with good intentions. I know the scale will be unforgiving...nothing to do but get back at it. One victory. I sooo wanted to munch tonight, but I made popcorn instead, and it was filling and satisfied me.
I CAN not find my tape measurer, but I must be getting smaller, the band on my bras for ALL but 2 of them, is getting wayyy to biG to hold the girls up. still it would be nice for some of this tummy to go too!

Jen- I noticed the same thing in my bra. I have been wearing nursing bras for so long, when I finally put on a real one the other day the smallest set of hooks is loose! It used to feel tight on tight on the biggest setting. Exciting!

I did really well with eating yesterday. Like Jen, I think low carb is depleting my milk supply. I think I might have to eat higher in carbs tomorrow and every few days to help that out. Because of appointments, etc, I haven't walked in over a week...blah. but I start again tomorrow.

I'm doing well, thanks for asking. The scale finally started moving again this morning so I'm hoping this is the beginning of a whoosh for me. Fingers crossed. I've started stressing a bit about how to handle my vacation at the end of this month. I'll be traveling with my mom and aunt and since they're normal eaters, I don't want to subject them to my low carb IF'ing, but at the same time I'm worried about staying off plan for a whole week. My mom and aunt will obsess over me 'not eating enough' or me being 'picky' if I look to low carb options. A week could really derail me and bring back those carb cravings I kicked to the curb back in June. I have to figure out how to balance it all.

dogdays - I sure hope so too!!!! After no loss last Saturday, I am sitting back and fighting at the same time, LOL! I hope your scale moving is a sure sign of a whoosh for you too! You have been sooooo good and deserve to see your just reward! I can hear the worry in your writing of the trip. I don't suppose there is a way to let them know you have been eating a certain way to attain a goal and have them actually understand without feeling the need to advise is there? I know it would be done out of care to tell ya to "eat normal", but sometimes it's also out of not realizing?

I never breast fed before, so I do not know anything about it. Sorry, low carb treats your body that way. Hopefully, you find a solution.

I am sure you have. Just not something I ever thought of before. Hope you figure out something that works good for you.
Dogdaysofdiets, Thank you so much! :) I started making jewelry about 10 years ago. Mainly working with sterling silver, swarovski crystals, and gemstone beads. I haven't made any jewerly in about 2 years, but now that I have lost some weight, buying cute clothes, I need accessories. :) I will definitely post some pics. I can't wait! I know how you feel, I have been wondering how our trip will go. I plan on staying on track, but you know how things can "happen". The last thing I want is to come back and be knocked out of onederland. I am sure that will keep me on plan! I just hate stressing over it. LOL I hope your mom and aunt respect your wishes, on how you want to eat. My family is very pushy, and will bug you to do/eat stuff. I just wish they would understand, that this is my new lifestyle. Try not to worry about it too much. Just make sure you don't use words saying, you can't eat something, because that makes them want to push it more. From my experience anyways. Just go out and order. Don't bring attention to yourself. That is what I do now. They will ask "what are you eating", and I will not discuss eating healthy, and order a chicken salad, with dressing on the side. Just don't bring up your diet. ;) Hope you have a GREAT time!

As for me, I hit my low, 202.2!! I didn't think TOM would allow it! I have been bloated etc. Not feeling all that great, but pushing through! I can not wait to see 199.8! I can't believe my time is almost there. Feels like I am dreaming. :)

Ladies, I am wanting to lose a good 3-5 lbs this week but starting to wonder if its possible. I am currently going to the gym and getting on the treadmill for 60min, but thinking about dropping it to 30min then do the other 30min on the elliptical. I would love to spend more time on cardio but being a single parent with a kid that need a lot of help/attention when doing school work I can't spare more time. Any ideas on what else I should do?

Hi Caramel, Jillian Michaels has an awesome dvd workout, called 30 Day Shred. It is only 20 mins, and she kicks butt! It cuts down travel time to/from the gym, and I am sure you will burn just as many calories. Amazon has it for $7.95, or you can find it Walmart/Target for under $10.

ItsMy & Transforming - thank you for your kind advice. As you both suspected my mom & aunt are super kind people who mean well but...my mom is 1/2 the reason I'm overweight to begin with and doesn't understand or support my IF'ing/low carb lifestyle. It's hard for me because she's overweight herself and gets a bit sensitive. Don't get me wrong - she's been HUGELY supportive of my journey these last few months, but at the same time she just doesn't "get it" if that makes any sense. I think I confuse her at times because I'll still eat a teeny piece of cake on special occasions by working it into my carb/calorie load for the day (that's the part she doesn't see), so she probably thinks I just cheat all the time. Sigh...it's hard. My aunt has always been skinny, so she's never seen a diet in her life. I'm not too concerned about choosing low carb options for myself (I'm good at getting creative with menus when eating out, LOL!), but I don't want them to feel I'm being judgmental about what they're eating because my mom tends to go there sometimes. So those are the gory details surrounding my dilemma - probably more than you wanted to know, LOL. I'll figure it out. I don't WANT to go off plan all week - I'll do a couple days here and there - I've come way too far to slip up.
Caramel - I like the 30 treadmill/30 elliptical idea. Or 60 mins high intensity on the treadmill. I also like the Jillian Michaels idea for you - might give you some better time management options. I know the busy mom thing all too well, so I feel for you there - my DH works nights, so I get home from work and immediately go into full mom taxi mode and struggle to find time for myself. In addition to the exercise - how are you doing with diet? That's the biggest component of weight loss, so a combo of cutting back on calories and working out should be a win for you. I have certainly seen 3-4 pounds in a week at the beginning of my journey. Good luck!!

Many of you are so close to onederland which is so exciting! I've been trying to get there, but I got off track in March, and gained eight pounds back. I just started going back to weight watchers a few weeks ago.
So I've made a lot of changes lately with my diet and I'm trying to be consistent with working out. I hope to see a woosh on the scale next week for sure. My goal is to work out 5-6 days this week. Sometimes I wonder if I should be doing more cardio. I usually do 40 minutes of eliptical or running, but maybe I should up it to closer to an hour? How much cardio do you all do? I started doing aerobic classes this week (step and total toning) They are pretty intense.
Transforming, I love your jewlery. Sounds like a fun Halloween you have planned.
dogdays, Congrats on your huge loss. Your child sounds so smart and cute.
Caramel, good luck on the weight loss this week. Let me know if you find increasing the cardio helps with the weight loss.
itsmyturn, Congrats on getting in so much exercise. I can relate because I'm trying to get in six days this week with one rest day.
shalyn and jendiet, how low carb do you go? I was looking at trying to get between 50-100 carbs per day which I read is good for weight loss. I believe that below 50 carbs per day puts your body in Ketosis.

Jojo, Thanks so much. :) Working out 5 - 6 days is great! I think 40 mins is really good, if you are able to do 1 hour, great, if not that is good too. I started out doing cardio 30 mins a day for 2 months (3 days a week, plus 3 days of weights), now I am doing cardio for 1 hour. I workout 6 days a week, 3 days cardio 3 days weights (alternating days). Your aerobic class sounds awesome! GREAT job!

Dogdays - I am actually doing ok with my diet, I'm saying ok b/c sometimes after cardio I am way under my 1200 calories. I know that my body will go into starvation mode so I try to stick with my 30day meal plan to have enough calories.

Hi! I've been sitting at 204-206 for a couple months now and then just weighed in at 210! Wrong direction! I've been trying to do this by myself but now I'm really considering Weight Watchers. I have a friend who is a life member coming over today and I'm going to ask her more about it.

Morning everyone! TOM has hit me full force today so all I want to do when I get home from work is snuggle with my heating pad and some chocolate. Maybe I'll ditch the chocolate at least! Other than that and feeling bloated as all get out, I've been doing well. Tomorrow will be w1d3 for C25K and it's been going surprisingly well. No knee pain thus far and day 1 was easier than I expected.
WOW look at you all so close to Onederland!!! Now off to get caught up on some posts!

ItsMy - Rest days are VITAL sometimes I think. I'm actually thinking about taking one today. TOM cramps are really "cramping" my style today. Back on the exercise wagon tomorrow though.

Transforming - Excellent that you hit that weight despite TOM! Your onederland party will surely be happening momentarily :) I am so excited for you and shows that when you push through, even when not "feeling it", it really does make a difference!!! You are taller than me, but we started at near the same weight and it feels AMAZING to start seeing a "1" in front of the reading on the scale! *preparing the party hat*
Caramel33 - Elliptical work sure won't hurt you. The only advice I dare give is to remember to keep mixing up your routine in some way. As far as anything else, I don't think I would be much help - only 1 time since I started this, did I ever lose 3 or more pounds in a week. I am usually up to 2Lb/wk ... a slow loser.
dogdays - I LOVE that your daughter said that! Out of the mouths of babes, :lol:
Jojo - Sounds like you have a great beginning to restarting your journey :) Personally, I do strength training 3x/wk (and it's fast paced like circuit to keep heart rate up), and cardio the other days. I usually take 1 rest day during the week, but get super active on the weekends. Everyone is different, but I feel my best and less stressed if I do this much
Luvinit - You need to find the plan that works for you, that you can live with :) You are still lower than when you first started, so ahead of the game in that respect :D
geauxgirl - Sorry to hear TOM is hitting you so hard. Seems to be the theme for us all this month. So glad to hear you have been sticking to your fitness plan, and certainly taking one day off for rest isn't going to hurt a thing for you ;)
As for me - TOM should be completed for me today (YAY!), so time to hope the water weight will be gone by Saturday's weigh in! I hit the gym last night and stretched too. I am proud that I have stuck to plan with the added company at the house, and honestly only thing I am slacking on is getting enough sleep... good deal!

What a busy week. My receptionist and practice partner are off for the school holidays (it's a short holiday here), so I'm running my practice on my own. Not much to report on my side - I'm recycling the same 1.2 pounds and have been for the last 10 days. Very disheartening, especially with how limited my calorie intake is. But never mind!
Everyone seems to be hanging strong. Is it just me or have you all formed a TOM club?! :-) Shame to all!!!!

I know how hard it is not want to workout during TOM. Especially the first couple of days. Yuck!

I tried something a few weeks ago, and with Halloween coming up, I just thought about it and wanted to share it with all of you. If you love taffy apples you are going to love this. Cut up an apple (I had a Gala apple), and eat it will some walnuts. OMG reminds me of a taffy apple without the caramel of course. So good! :)

ugh computer ate my post! Well, I don't really know. All I do is grab MOSTLY low carb foods. I need to write it down, but today my supply is MUCH better. I also revived MyNetDiary from my IPOD.
well, it's time for progress pics, although NO WEIGHT loss. Kind of silly. But maybe you will see a difference.
overall, I see my diastasis better. lol. I think my legs and arms look funny with my fat tummy and chest.
gah, i tried to resize them, and none of them worked--well one. I don't care. Takes too long. stupid computer!!!!

momwannabe - wowsers your week sounds very busy indeed! I hope it eases up for you a little. Hang in there with the scale frustrations. You could be building muscle faster than you're burning fat so you're not seeing the scale descend yet, but it will. Have you tried taking body measurements to see how much you've physically changed. I bet you'd see movement there. It WILL happen for you if you stick with it.
Jen - OMGosh what a HUGE difference. HUGE! Your legs, your ribcage, your back, your stomach, everything - I could go on! Definitely significant. I'm not sure why it's not translating on the scale for you, but it's very very obvious to me. Great job!!! A true non scale victory for you!! You should feel really good about your efforts.

thanks dogdays, like I said I am soooo tired of the scale, but if you see improvements, I am going to just ignore that for a while and keep keeping on.
I know my rib cage is smaller somewhere, because my bra bands are too big now...

Jen, GREAT pics. I do see a difference in your stomach, legs, shoulders and back. I know how frustrating it is when the scale doesn't move, just keep taking pics and measuring. Also the way clothes fit, doesn't lie! You are doing great. :)

Quick check in.
I had a planned high carb day (about 200g) on Wednesday (trying to increase milk production) and i only saw a lb gain. Yesterday I did about 150g in carbs and I'm back down to 202.6. I think I'll plan a high carb day (healthy carbs) every 3 days or so to see if that helps.
Jen - great pictures! A definite change, especially your legs!
Transforming- fingers crossed for onderland! Let us know!
Jojo- I usually try to stay at about 100 carbs or less. But I'm breastfeeding and noticed I'm not producing enough milk since starting low carb so I'mtrying to fix that without gaining the weight back! I think Jen is having the same trouble.

Well...remember when I hit the 170s and said I wasn't sure how I'd act if I ever saw the 160s? Well...I can tell you now! :carrot::carrot: A new decade this morning - I whooshed right past 169 (never saw it) to 168.7. I'm sure I'll bounce back up to 169, but as long as the 160s are my new home, I'm stoked!

Sorry there isn't much to report on me - parents still here, Amber still recovering, although my son got a great word at the doctor: His growth hormone is FINALLY right where it should be and no pressure on the brain!!! Also, his cortisol is where it should be now and his testosterone shots are where they should be (unless he wanted to grow hair, but son says no... wish I had a choice to not shave my legs! lol). The youngest is calming back down a bit and DH is keeping track of all his fantasy league teams...and I am on plan and still doing daily workouts. Same ol' same ol'... trouble getting to calories (but have reached them 4 times this past week, so that's awesome)...and no trouble hitting the fitness end. Looks like I have a normal boring post. I hope everyone has an awesome day!!!!

Jen- I really hope this strategy works. I don't want to stop breastfeeding yet but I don't want to gain any weight back either. Fingers crossed. I hope you can figure something out too! Great job getting back on plan, keep it up!

MyTurn- Glad you have good news from your sons doctor! How old are your kids?
I got my test results back. I had an allergy panel of blood work done. I found out I'm allergic to a few things:
bermuda grass-that explains a lot!
dust mites-great. I have carpeting.
shrimp-this one is huge for me living in south Louisiana. I never had a reaction before!
I also found out that my liver and kidneys are ok so I'm not sure what this weird feeling under my right rib cage is. After I'm done breast feeding I'll have an abdominal CT done. I also had a thyroid ultrasound done and found out that I have a nodule on my thyroid so now I have to have a biopsy to see if it has to be removed. I watched a video of it being done and it made me queasy!
I'm feeling extra bloated for the past few days with all of these extra carbs I've been consuming. I'm trying not to use it as an excuse to have bad things. Although I did have a pumpkin spice frapp today...sinful!

I've been eating on plan, but I screwed up today eating out twice in one day. I hope I didn't blow my week. I have gotten to the gym 4 x's this week, and will do a long hike in the mountains on Sunday. Tomorrow I will be standing on my feet all day taking video of a wedding. I will be out of town the next three days, and hoping I can keep on plan and see a move on the scale next Tuesday. I hope everyone has a great weekend! :hug:

Dogsday: Can't believe you skipped through a pound. I'm so jealous. I'm losing in these tiny little incriments. And you've almost caught me in terms of weight! That's so fantastic!

And I am happy to announce that I have stopped recycling the same 1.2 pounds. Can we all have a woohoo! I know the number seems a little odd to get excited about, but remember I weigh in kilograms, so I've lost 4 kilograms in 4 weeks, which I'm pretty proud of. Or, in your speak, 8.8 pounds. The scale is really making me work for it. I did 40 minutes of uphill walking yesterday and burnt 460 calories. My poor calves are sore this morning. But it's back to the gym to do it all again in a little bit.
We are so happy for you!!!!! Put on your party hat and come on in!!!!!

Shalyn - My son will actually be turning 18 this December, my oldest daughter is 15, and my youngest is 12. The oldest two are my special needs children, but amazing...they have both beat odds and abilities that no one saw coming :) So proud! I am so happy for you, that the liver and kidney are good.. those are huge issues. Is the pain a possible muscle bruising or lung issues? (have you had a hard time taking in a big breath?) Bermuda grass is EVERYWHERE here in AZ.... I can't imagine living where you do and having shrimp as an issue either... goodness. Glad you got answers!
Jojo - I hope you see the movement on scale you are looking for. That hike on Sunday sounds fun!

As for me I am doing great. On cloud 9 of course! My husband is down to 212. So far I have lost 44.8 lbs, and he lost 47.4 lbs. Feels GREAT! Nice to have the next couple of days off. Tomorrow I am washing laundry, and setting aside what I want to bring on our trip. Monday, I have a hair appointment at Mario Tricoci (cut, and dyed to a warm medium brown). Hopefully, it turns out great! ;) My last hair visit didn't go too well (highlights, low lights, and cut), I had to get rid of my stylist/colorist, of 15 years. Wrecked my hair.....going with someone new. Wish me luck! LOL

ItsMy- Actually, there is no pain. It's just a really weird feeling right where my liver is and it feels like maybe a muscle spasm but without the pain. Almost like it's pulsating...it feels weird. Perhaps it's a pulled muscle?
I swear I'm not a hypochondriac. People in my family tend to let things go because they don't want to face the fact that it might be something serious. I don't want to be like that. I have to know and hope that it's either nothing or something that can easily be fixed.

Well I ended up staying OP at the game (and that was HARD) but I did. I had a small piece of key lime pie and it was delicious. The only bad thing is I think I twinged my leg. Not even sure how I did it. And it doesn't hurt per se but when I stand on it I notice a slight aggravation. So I'm gonna ease up on it today and see how it goes for tomorrow with the exercising and c25k.
But the good news is that I'm down to 224 today! That's officially 20 down from my all time high and 16 down from when I started this again on Aug. 22nd!
Slow and steady but it is progress nonetheless!

We went to the zoo today and had a great time. Perfect weather! We walked at least 10 miles, my feet and back are killing me! I stayed pretty much on plan. I was craving iced coffee so I had one, which was about 40g carbs. Other than that, I had a turkey sandwich for lunch & cereal for supper (too tired to cook!). Kinda carb-y, I know but under the circumstances it could have been worse. We packed our own lunch because the food there is outrageously priced & I would have eaten fried/unhealthy stuff.

afm: I got a 100 on my project. yay. I hope I can get an A in this course. I don't really know if I can, but I'm going to see. My feet hurt. I did something to my right foot and it is pretty painful all day. My left is just sore from the PF.
I did ONE day on plan, then partied and got COMPLETELY off plan...I am shooting for a goal of 3 days on plan. If I can get there, I will do more. I love the IPOD app because it takes alot of the work out of everything.
I have been busy doing chores and visiting friends, so I know I am getting NEAT calories burned. I hope for this food journaling to show how much I need to drop my calories and what amount will affect my breast milk supply.

Good morning everyone! Seems like everyone's hanging in there. Only 9 weeks to the holidays!
So my weight loss dribble continues, but I'll take any loss I can get! Lost .4 this morning, making it a total of just over 9 pounds in total. I haven't cheated once since I started, and I feel like perhaps my body's getting used to the new regime. I have also started on soya milk to see if that doesn't help. I had a severe milk allergy as a baby, and I'm wondering if the milk is also stopping weight loss. It's worth a try! I also mixed up my gym routine yesterday. I'm such a creature of habit, so I have been doing the same kind of workout (basically uphill walking on the treadmill) since I started. Did some elliptical and step machine yesterday. But I still cannot run!!! This is very frustrating to me. I tried jogging yesterday. I made it to 2 minutes the first time and then to a minute and a half the next time. I seriously thought I was going to have a heart attack!!! And I can do 40 minutes of really brisk walking pretty much up the side of a mountain (on the treadmill, of course) without any issues at all. It's baffling, but I will persevere.

momwannabe, Yes a loss is better than no loss. Congrats on your weightloss. Have you tried almond milk? It is really good, and doesn't contain milk. Changing your workout routine is key. Your body gets use to the same thing over time, and you need to change things up. Running takes time. As for me, I spent 2.5 hours trying on clothes. Happy to say, I finally got everything together (clothes). Now, I am working on makeup, shoes, accessories, hair stuff etc. Then I have to get all of my husbands clothes together. I will be happy when I see my suitcases sitting next to the door and are READY to go! LOL Below is a pic I just took today. We are going to Mickey Mouse's Not So Scary Halloween Party, at Magic Kingdom (after our cruise). I didn't want to wear my pirate costume, do not want to walk around in heal boots all night. Just want to be comfy and thought, I would just wear this (Minnie shirt, with Goofy ears pirate hat). My husband will be wearing a Mickey shirt, and Mickey ears pirate hat (I didn't have a Goofy shirt, but happy to have a red, black and white shirt to somewhat match. LOL). Here it is: :)

No big updates on me. Scale is still moving down, a bit slower than in the past, but it's moving. I haven't bounced back into the 170s yet, so I'm feeling very encouraged by that. Trying to stay on plan despite traveling over the weekend - did okay, came home the same weight as when I left, so no complaints. DD's birthday party is coming up this weekend so there will be cake to fit into my plan. I know I'll want a piece, so I'm not even going to pretend I'll get through the day without eating any. I'll just cut myself a small piece and work it into my calories and carbs for the day.

So I saw a surgeon about getting a thyroid biopsy on that nodule. He actually suggested that I wait to get it done because the person who read the original ultrasound noted that it could be "technical in nature" which means it may not even exist. If it does, it's only 5mm (about 1/4 of a pea sized). So I have to do the ultrasound again in 6 months.
geauxgirl- yes Audubon! Next time we want to check out Zoo of Acadiana, never been there.
Had a few off plan days here. I constantly feel hungry, like a pit in my stomach. I don't like that!

Well, I did take something that cleaned me out a little bit, and I'm on my third OP day. Been staying to around 2300 cs. Scale said 187.6. I don't know if that is because I got some garbage out of my system or because my body likes the calories for weight loss. Time will tell. I'm liking being almost 3 pounds from the 190s though.

As for me, apparently being sick and not being able to exercise has actually helped. I peeked at the scale this morning and it said 221.6! WTH?! I havent exercised since Monday and to have such a loss? I'm confused but hey I'll take it! I've been OP with eating and maybe consuming a little less than normal. Nothing seems to taste good with this sore throat.

geauxgirl - Your not exercising means muscles aren't holding water. Something that can help you with that when you are back to exercising is simply drinking lemon juice with heated water in the evenings and you won't have so much water weight that snags on ya
I picked up my car finally yesterday and then mom and I spent the day shopping. Burned a ton of calories with all the walking and have stayed totally OP for eating too. DD1 has gone to PT now and then we are all going as a family to Rawhide City... it's a western city thing and a ton to do... so watch out calories, you will be burned again! LOL

Jen- I am still nursing. In fact, I had to recently go to strictly nursing because the baby can't keep anything else down. Every now and then I give him baby food with cereal and about 4 oz. of juice but other than that it's all breast milk. What kind of "cleanser" did you use?
2sw33t- congratulations!! and welcome back. I gained 28 during my first pregnancy (started at 210) and only 10 lbs for my second (started at 219) and I wasn't trying to eat healthy at all. In fact I ate very unhealthy for my second. It was like I couldn't help it, I always craved pastries.
I'm back at 203 but I've upped my carbs and calories a bit to restore my supply of breast milk. Not sure if it's working because I'm still running out in the middle of the night. Not good. Not sure what I'll do if it dries up cos the baby spits up anything else I give him.

shalyn, one take a preggo test. That messes with your supply. Just to say you did it. 2, I know what you mean. I am pumping to get mine back up. I'm fat, why does my body think it needs to hold onto stuff because I want to cut back? oh yeah, i took the smooth move tea.
oh yeah, I woke up and weighed in at 189.0--I think it is sticking. I am going to shoot for 2000 today, and see what the scale does.

shalyn, I have just got done breastfeeding my second son for over a year. Pumping as much as you can stand, and their are supplments out there that are suppose to stimulate lactation. (Milk Thistle, I just google Breastfeeding on line) I have also heard that if you drink 1 beer the yeast helps with production.

Shalyn - My youngest did that too, the spitting up when I took her off my breast milk... I tried a soy formula and she did better - turned out the lactose of the regular formula after having been on me so long was just too harsh for her system. Maybe worth a shot?
Jen - It sure sounds like that is your new weight area to me! Congrats! That's great!!!! You are officially in the next decade!!! Thank you, we were going broke putting average 400 miles per day on our 12 yr old big Buick Century... this 2011 Sonata though is holding gas wonderfully and will be perfect for work!!
AFM - Rawhide was wonderful fun! Put 2 oldest into a coffin and it simulated the whole burial process, LOL! We got to watch on a camera thing. Then they all 3 rode the Death Train. The headless Horseman was stalking DD1 and S1 was threatened to be beheaded too, and DD2 was hi-fiving him, LOL! The 3 of them were babysat (so to speak) by a cowboy... they were thrown in jail by gunpoint by the sheriff, then we watched a theater show of a gun fight, and my mom got a real pretty charm bracelet and each of my girls got a ring made out of the nails they put in horseshoes on the horse... it was a full night of pure fun!!!! Lots of walking for mom and I too - win win! Today will be more traditional exercise :) Have a great day all!

I'm a bit stuck this week, but that time of the month, so pretty happy I'm not picking up. All I wanted to do today was eat sugar! Shame, my receptionist was so worried about me because I was very light-headed and she decided I needed sugar. I almost took the top of her head off. Don't you know I haven't eaten sugar in a month, lady!!!!!! But I had some honey instead, and it seemed to do the trick. Ok...back to work if I ever want to sleep tonight.

Just checking in quickly to tell...
Jen- my pediatrician recommended Fenugreek, an herbal supplement that helps with breast milk. I went to the health food store and got some right away. Took 1 pill at 2:30, by 6:30 I felt a difference! The baby ate for 20 minutes nonstop which was great because before, he would usually get mad at how little was coming out.
MyTurn- I've tried regular milk formula, 2 different brands of soy and Nutramagin with no success. He also spits up juice, baby food and rice cereal. His tummy only wants the boobie!
dogdays- Yay for 50 lbs gone!!
I weighed in at an even 202 this morning which is a new low for me. Not sure how I did that with what I've been eating lately!

Yay, yay it's Friday and I so like what I weigh! 1.2 pounds down this morning making my weight 160.2 with a total loss of 10.6 pounds!!! My first 10 gone. I can't wait to be in the 150's although my next big goal is to be under 70 kigs (153 pounds). Haven't seen 60-something kilograms for a long time. HOpe everyone has a fantastic day!

AFM - still whooshing. Down to 166.4 this morning. My body is so strange. I have a very distinct scale pattern that is emerging (or that I'm just now noticing)...retain for 10-12 days surrounding ovulation and then whoosh right before TOM starts...then retain for about 5 days during TOM...then whoosh again for another 10-12 days before ovulation starts. I think I'm losing consistently all month long, but it doesn't translate on the scale when my body is retaining fluid, so it looks like I have these HUGE losses of a half pound or more/day and right now it looks like I'm blowing through the 160s quickly but I really think it was weight I lost evenly throughout the month - just didn't get credit for it on the scale. Very strange but I'm still losing so I'm not going to look a gift horse in the face. :)

Dogdays - You are still losing though! The scale will cooperate soon I just know it! We are going to look at a college for DD this weekend. We went and visited our local community college on Wednesday and that is likely where she will start next year, but tomorrow we'll be going to SLU to check that out for her final 2 years. It's only about a 45 minute commute so it won't be too bad for her to drive when the time comes.
Transforming - WOW your newest photo is stunning to see the differences! I'm so happy! and a little jealous too. hehe but seriously I hope you guys have a magical trip! You deserve it! I can't wait to go back to WDW at a much much lower weight than I have been in the last 10 years! We're tossing around the idea of going in May. Haven't settled on it yet though.
ItsMy - that Rawhide does sound like fun! I wish we had something like that around here!

Today is the first day in a week I feel halfway normal. Now just ready to get back to exercising again. I may go for a walk this morning before work. I don't want to get too sweaty but that shouldn't be a problem since we had a cool front come thru yesterday. Oh and I'm down to 221.8 today so that weight actually stuck! Not gonna complain! 220 better watch out next week though! I'm comin after ya!
Got a pretty busy weekend ahead of me though. Tonight hoping to work on a little Christmas shopping and need to get a birthday/retirement gift for my aunt. Then tomorrow the fam and I are going to check out another college for DD. Sunday is when I need to get caught up on this house. Amazing how fast it gets messy when mom has been sick :( :( :(

my glee was short lived, because I ate a bunch of crap yesterday, I went out again, and it always translates into eating junk I shouldn't and seeing a bad result on the scale.
I feel behind on everything.
At least, I started giving the lo some tylenol/advil and he is eating good again. I swear by oatmeal. I also had tea with fenugreek in it which I need to order some more--Thanks for reminding me Shalyn and congrats on your new low.
momwb, you will be there in no time, then are you going to try for a baby?
dogdays, got to love the whooshes. I long for one again. I am going to cut out the partying--and see if that helps.

Shalyn: So glad you found something to help. There are such good natural things out there. Luckily I have a good friend who's a homeopath and a GP. If I ever get pregnant she reckons we're having coffee (um...herbal tea?) every week so she can check on me.

Jen: It's a new day. Back up and at em, girl. I'd love a baby, but there's that little issue of finding a man, first. Part of what prompted this journey....ok, let's be honest, it was all of what prompted this journey!....was that this guy I dated told me the reason I'm single is because of my weight. I booted his *** right out of there, but it did get me thinking and got MY *** to the gym.
And I lost again this morning which means: Goodbye 60's! 159.7! And a total of 5kgs. I also did a gym session where I burnt the most calories I ever have yesterday. And tomorrow this lovely lady at the gym is going to show me how to use the tummy machines. I've been doing sit up's just on the mat, but hopefully I'll be able to get rid of this flab at some point!

I think it's great if you are able to see the pattern that forms with the scale - and that sounds similar to me except I wouldn't categorize mine as "whoosh", just... "not blocking my weight loss", :lol: I think when we figure out our patterns though, it helps us not get so frustrated and aids us in seeing how our overall numbers are going in the right direction :)
geauxgirl - Congrats on seeing the scale move! Super job!!! Wow, Christmas shopping already?

AFM - Did my weekly weigh in today and down 1.4Lbs... 194 as of today. This morning my 2 oldest kids have PSATs to take, then I am making us all a Shepherd's pie for lunch, then we are all off to the fair. We will be doing a TON of walking and staying late to see Trace Atkins perform tonight cause my father is a country fan. I don't have a ton of time with my folks and I want to suck every second I can from this visit :D Hope everyone else has a super weekend too!!!

It'smyturn: Also went to a fair yesterday. I managed to get sunburnt, even though it was actually quite cold. Me and sun don't mix! The one I went to had a snow slide!
Ok, so another .8 down this morning making the total 11.9 pounds. But going to let the lady at gym show me the tummy machines today to see if I can get rid of this jelly belly. Wish me luck - I'm sooooo scared! My stomach muscles are pathetic!

Momwanna - you are just trucking right along! You are doing so great! Sorry about the sunburn! Use some aloe to soothe the burn. I got a bit of a burn last weekend as well.
Jendiet - sorry about the bad day but today is a brand new day! I also swear by oatmeal too. It's so yummy and filling! I usually rotate between that and Special K for breakfast every other morning.
AFM... Finally hit the pavement this morning for the first time in a week and it definitely felt good. I did w2d1 on C25K. Felt good to be back and I don't feel like I over did anything. I'm hoping to actually make it as far as the gym this coming week even with the busy busy schedule. Tues and Thurs Devyn (dd) has both bowling team tryouts and Confirmation practice and actual Confirmation on Thursday night. But I've scheduled my next walk/run with c25k on those mornings before work. As long as weather permits I"ll at least be able to get my exercise in with that each of those mornings and hit the gym M, W and F.

momwannabe - That's funny, I can't imagine a snow slide! I am in Arizona and it was 100 degrees out when we initially went to the fair, so rides to keep cool with the wind and lots of shade where ever we could find it :) It was a BLAST though! I also fit a funnel cake into my calories cause I have looked forward to that :) The concert was fun too and it was a FULL day! I was so thankful I was able to take a week off this time around with my folks coming down... definitely have to try and make that happen again :)
So how was your trainer? I have to assume you got pushed a bit with that comment you left, LOL!
geauxgirl - Great job getting out there and running again! You should be so proud of the progress you are making! How awesome!!!
AFM - Burned over 1000 calories yesterday, and today have already gotten out for my walk to start the day :) I am totally on target and still able to have time with the family! I have less than a week left with my parents here, they are flying out super early this coming Saturday, so they will be my focus (other than work) this week... will hope to fit in the fitness as well, but not going to beat myself up if it lacks a bit. geauxgirl - Thank you :) Fortunately my parents are very supportive of my endeavour, my father was actually the one that sent me the money for the gym that I have in my house now :) And my mother has been on the weight loss wagon with me.... so all around supportive... then dad gave mom and I both money to go shopping to get clothes that fit - cause we looked like we were swimming in our clothes :) They are my best friends as well as my parents, so we all back each other on things that interest us...mom and I are each other's confidante... and dad and I work together for logistic problem solving. I really really miss them when they leave! Great job on treating yourself to the scoop of ice cream! I am lactose intolerant, so that has been a huge no-no to me... but a mere trip to Dairy Queen sounds like a dream :)

Well, I've made a decision.
It's important to me that I breastfeed my baby for at least another 2 months. Since I'm having so much trouble with my milk production (which I think is due to lack of carbs & calories), I decided to quit with the weight loss for now and just maintain. I will continue to exercise and eat healthy and hopefully that will be enough for me to maintain my current weight without any gain. Since I've been at a plateau for so long, maybe this will be what my body needs. When I start trying to lose again, I pray I enter Onderland with no problem!
I'll still lurk & read everyone's posts and check in here & there. Good luck to all!

Totally was slammed with stuff yesterday, so took as my fitness rest day (even though no rest was had, lol). Today after work I have a phone appointment with my nutritionist, so hoping traffic isn't too bad so I get there in time to receive it :) I have included more proteins as she asked me to and have really been working on getting my caloric intake up like she wanted too...and have lost a bit over 11 Lbs since we last spoke - when I can report all good things, I love to touch base with her :D I hope everyone has a FABULOUS day!!!!

Shalyn, I am about ready to quit myself. I either eat under my calories which affects my supply--or eat wayyyy over due to my binging habits. I have been feeling very isolated and lonely...and depressed. And when I have a bad scale day--I eat. When I have a good scale day, I overdo it, and my supply suffers. I REALLY need prayer. The scale said 192 again today...and I don't like that.
Congratulations to all of you. I am going to be checking in, but I'm just so disgusted with myself. I know if I completely stop--this behavior will go into worse results--so I just can't quit.
I just wonder why I can go from 217 to 188-and JUST STOP. like some stupid clock...or something.

Jen - :hug: I hate that you are so frustrated and wish I could help. There are no magical answers and you have the complication added of needing to be able to nurse too.... I think you are amazing with all you take on! The fact that you haven't gained has impressed me... you have stayed within a maintenance range to your 188 this whole time and haven't gained even when crap totally hit the fan and that's inspirational to me! This journey is to help you feel better about yourself, not make you beat yourself up hon... I wish you could see how awesome you are :hug: Prayer is one thing I CAN do to help and am happy to send some your way! I do hope others on here are better at advice than I am, and are able to lift you up.... but prayers are coming your way

Jen- I totally understand your frustration. It's so hard to find a happy medium for our situation. It was driving me insane and since stress affects milk supply (vicious cycle!) I made the decision to take a break from the loss and simply try to maintain. Perhaps you could do the same? How long do you plan to breastfeed? Whatever you do, don't quit! You've come to far. This is just another hurdle! I keep telling myself that I won't be breastfeeding forever so I will be able to begin losing again soon!
Since I made this decision 3 days ago I am back up to 205 but my milk supply had definitely improved!

i plan on breastfeeding--having a supply until he is 18 months--maybe 2 years old. I am NOT going to give up on either weight loss OR breastfeeding.

shalyn, I think maintenance after a huge loss is a good idea, then you when you feel better about it, get back to the losing.

(Woke up and it's 40º here; could have stayed snuggled up in bed easily) But thanks to my hubby and with some convincing I got it done and I feel much better! Been in an exercise funk all week and just about the only thing I have done was c25k.

Thanks for the welcome ItsMyTurn.
For my methods, exercise is key for me. I like to run and I feel good once I get going but I don't always have the umph to get going (I am at home with the kids and that gets tiring/the weather is lousy/excuses come easy). If I run, I can't eat lousy because the yuck-burps would drive me crazy. My diet is quite clean. I have not eaten any fried foods for a month (even before I did not eat them often) and I mostly eat whole foods. So recently I have been reducing my calories by minimizing my breakfast intake and making sure that I go running lots of time in the week.
I am also a breastfeeding mom of a 1 year old. When he was a baby he reacted quite horrendously to poor choices in my diet. I gave up chocolate, dairy, carbonated drinks (that I was turning to to deal with a crying newborn)... so I have him to thank for a healthy diet :).
I think you can bf and lose weight at the same time. Breastfeeding takes priority for me. A baby's lifelong health is greatly influenced by being breastfed - I make it a priority to have my children not struggle with their weight/health like I have. I tried losing weight when my son was younger and he became finicky so I just relaxed about my weight loss. I have been overweight so long waiting until my boy was older seemed the most reasonable to me. Everybody will find their balance.

You thanked me for my encouragement and I don't feel like I am very good at it, :lol: It is a long standing understanding in my house/family that my Mother and DH are the "nurturers" and excel at the hand-holding, encouraging, uplifting....and Dad and I are the "fix it" people and excel at logistic problem solving, thinking on how to fix a situation, and "do" stuff.....we offer support to those important to us, just in a different way then most folks (doesn't mean we care less... matter of fact, it stresses us out when we CAN'T fix stuff for others). How did the IF go? The last I heard from you, you were going to try that and see how it worked and how you felt.
Shalyn - Keep your awareness fresh of all you do for nutrition/fitness and you will find your balance. Just cause you went up a couple pounds does not mean you have to gain to be having good production - what it does mean is that something was missing when you were on the "losing" train that is needed for your production. You will figure it out, certainly is never an exact science ;) Don't forget to say "hey" once in awhile too ;) Always so nice to see ya!

Huha - Having a clean diet and upping the exercise is definitely a method I relate to :) I had nursed all 3 of my kids and agree that it is possible lose weight while doing it. It has been so long ago though, that I am not a good resource for information as I have forgotten most of what I learned then, lol. But then again, it's been a lot of years - my oldest is turning 18 this December :O
dogdays - The nutritionist appointment went great :) She was so happy to hear that I incorporated the added protein on my strength training days, also happy to hear that my average caloric intake has increased to 1150-1250 (when I started with her, I struggled to raise the calories and averaged 800-900.... a huge contributor to the slower metabolic rate and swiftness of weight gain).... and also managed to add more fruit to the daily intake (all the of the things she had me do)!!!! So she says I am now doing everything right and she will check in with me in December now :) No more "lectures"/educational material being sent to my email after we hang up :) Woohoo!
As for me: Sorry I have been MIA for a few days. I have been so busy that I only post on a couple boards a day right now, so had to put them all in a line :) It's been crazy busy, but still been OP totally (other than lacking sleep, which could effect me a bit) and keeping moving forward. Did strength training Tues, elliptical last night on the "fat burner" setting for lower body and then kept going when workout was "done"... think I had a bit of an adrenaline rush, :lol: The next few days until we take my parents to the airport are booked solid with things going on, barely time to breathe... but I should be back more regular next week (hopefully) :) Hope you all have a fabulous day!!!

I weighed myself tonight after I ate, which was a mistake, it said 210...pretty depressing. I feel so bloated. I'm definitely producing more milk tho, I can feel it. The baby is sleeping better at night and I'm pretty sure it's because he's getting more carbs thru my milk. So weird how this all works and everything affects...everything!

Hi everyone! I will have to catch up when I get home on Sunday. Just wanted to stop in and say hi. I am having a great time. :) Lots of exercise, water, but not perfect on eating. I decided not to allow it to bug me etc, the NICE thing is, my clothes still fit comfy. I was worried. I can't wait to get home, weigh-in and get back on FULL plan.
I hope everyone is doing well. I miss my daily log-ins. :) Today was our anniversary photo shoot, here is one pic that was taken. Thought I would share. Chat soon! It was a busy week at work wrapping up for my time off - then yesterday was nonstop from sun up to sun down...work, DD11 had a cross country meet after school, then straight to goal keeper soccer practice, then we went on a haunted hayride so we could spend a fun night together as a family before I leave them for the week. A fun day, but busy...and then I had to come home and pack because I hadn't even started that yet! Finishing up now, LOL! Sssssskkkkkrrrrrreeeetch. That was me sliding in late as I seem to have missed the drama. So sorry not to be here to support everyone.
Shalyn and Jen: so sorry your bodies aren't in balance. If it's any help, I had a friend who breastfed for a long time and lost tons of weight because of it. But she swore it only started coming off after a year. What might not help is she's a fairly skinny chick to begin with. Ok, so actually I have no idea what I'm talking about and am really just trying to be supportive!
It's my turn: Can't believe you don't play the nurturer (that word looks weird) role in your family. You're always so up beat and positive! Hope the last bit of time with your family is magical. I'm seeing my mom tonight and we're having dinner and going to a show.

This week has been incredibly hectic. Work is unbelievably busy and I have no idea how to balance work, a social life, dating (haha - not getting far there!) and getting to the gym. Oh, and sleep - that seems to suffer the most. The fitness lady at gym gave me a real beating last Sunday and showed me lots of new strength exercises. I didn't ever realise how weak my back is. But then I didn't get to gym again until yesterday. But I worked hard, and am really sore all over today. Love that feeling. And I had a surprise when I got on the scale this morning as I've lost almost 2 pounds. Total: 14 pounds down. I suspect that might go up a little bit since it was such a dramatic loss all in one go, but I know it'll settle. Off to see John Cleese tonight - so excited!

Got the parents to the airport today, made sure they passed security before we left... I'm sad, but trying not to think about it. My father decided that he wanted to go to Stage Coach Days last night, even knowing it won't be in full force until today, since they would be gone (that's the big event of the town that my youngest DD is performing at today). I think it was all the shiny lights from the rides that got him interested, LOL! Men just love shiny things, :rofl:

afm: I get up every morning and weigh and every morning it sucks. Well this morning, I had worked like crazy yesterday to up my supply---pumping and nursing..nursing and pumping and of course--I ate like ****. So I woke up with milk galore. So MAYBE the extra pound is from milk. I can hope. Feeling a little doughy so I am going to do some strength training again--but I'm not pushing myself. I made up my mind I WILL NEVER do anything non-sustainable again. So I am going to do some light strength, and see how I feel. I NEED to get my eating under control. Counting calories ALWAYS backfires on me. I eat more junk that way--don't ask. I might try the exchange program again. For now, I'm back to IF until 3 pm...and I just have to fix my STOP time...and we will see.

AFM... Finally got back to the gym yesterday. All last week the only thing I did exercise-wise was the C25K and finished up week 2 on Friday. I did Week 1, Day 1 today and that was the first time pretty much since High School that I ran 3 miles consecutively! (ahem, some 20 years ago..) But we got dd confirmed Thursday night and after Tuesday and Wednesday tryouts she made the bowling team! (I'm glad she's active in h.s. again.. she was on the flag team for her first two years but then quit last year - much to my dismay).
Oh and talking with the parents, hubby and aunt.... we've decided that we will take DD to Disney World for her graduation in May. SQUEEEEE! I'm going thru serious withdrawls too. I haven't been in almost 5 years. Sooo, yet another reason to lose weight!

Jen- i just spent a week eating anything I wanted, no holding back. Yesterday I actually felt like my breasts were a little full...hadn't felt that in a while, like 2 months. So it was my way of eating! Low carb will just have to wait! I'm back up to 206...blah. I too feel doughy!

Shalyn, I know what you mean. My breasts have been feeling really full, and he has been getting full and that makes me feel really good. I introduced some carrots into his diet. But, he has been nursing alot! This is coming from a growth spurt. He has been doing more things--so I imagine he needs extra right now.
Myturn, what a blessing there were people from home to cheer her on! So glad you had fun walking.
gg, bowling team sounds like a fun sport for your dd, I am glad you are winning in the exercise area.
afm: I have been glued to my computer for 6 hours today. I HATE IT. I had a project due, which I put off til the last, because we have been having moment after moment of crisis. So tired, don't want to look at the screen tomorrow. another busy week ahead. AT least I know I have to NIX the calorie counting. I just feel like I blew it too easily---which makes me eat more junk (cuz that is the remedy right?)
I have been fasting until 3 pm for a few days. I forgot how HARD it is to not eat. Today I made it to 4:30pm and that was all she wrote. My stomach is back to growling again...which it hasn't done in a while. I know I ate enough calories at the end of the day, cuz my little man nursed like crazy tonight. About to do another round. So tired. I hope I can get up in 3 hours for DS.

LOL Sounds like you had an awesome workout, you will be amazed at how fast that will change, you will get stronger and stronger. I love seeing the difference in my body. When I first started to do push-ups I could only do 3 - 5! Now I can do 70+. You will get there! Awesome job with the 2 lb loss!! :)

geauxgirl, Thank you! We had a photographer in Orlando FL, she took some photos in a nearby park, along with photos in her studio. You are doing great! That is great your daughter made the team! Oh I know you are excited about Disney World. That is GREAT! You will enjoy it, especially being a smaller version of yourself. The last time I went, I was 56 lbs heavier. OMG was it so nice, plus having cute clothes to wear. You will do great, and it will be good motivation for you. ;)
As for me, I didn't weigh in yet this morning, doing that at 7am. Weighed in last night at 206, so I am hoping to see 203.x today. I will let all of you know how that goes. I will be happy with a 5 lb gain. LOL We got home last night, decided to stay an extra night in KY (visiting my husbands family). All in all it was a GREAT trip. Nice and relaxing. I will post some pics, as soon as I can.

Good luck on the scale this morning. I'm sure the amount of walking that you do at Disney is sure to offset some of the weight gain with the food.
AFM... Monday was good and OP with eating but Sunday was a big ole bust. A good friend of ours came over for a visit and with her she brought her leftovers from tailgating on Saturday. And we made margaritas and I'm sure I ate a ton of chips and spinach dip (surely the spinach part was good.. the cheese, not so much). But I rarely have a true "cheat" day so I guess that counts. The scale hasn't been right since then though. Hoping to get back to normal here soon. Did c25k this morning and I'm going to the gym tonight too.

AFM, Rough week last week, My husband's mother passed away last Tuesday after battling lung cancer for about a year. Needless to say my diet went out of the window since we were 3 hours from home for 5 days. It is rough to lose someone but, then to have to go through an entire lifetime of possesions in one weekend is really difficult. I am home and back to work hoping that my family can find normal again soon. We have been running to and from Detroit area for around 2 months. I was surprised to see on the scale this morning that I only gained 1/2 a pound.
I am glad to see that everyone is doing well.
Transforming, I am glad that you enjoyed your trip and the picture looks great. Don't worry about the scale it will show you the number you want to see.

khumphrey - So sorry to hear of your loss. We just lost my MIL this passed May 15 after many physical battles... it is hard. I am glad to hear only a half pound difference with all the chaos you had to deal with, that's amazing. :hug:

khumphrey, I am so sorry for your loss, I know it is hard to see our loved ones suffer, but at least we have them in our lives. I pray for healing and strength to deal with this. You are so right about it being rewarding. It is probably the oxytocin, but I really ENJOY holding him in my arms and watching him suckle. To go through what you have gone through and only gain 1/2 lb is a wonder!
myturn, it is going better, the first couple of days are like a free for all. You just get so hungry, but that is normal, then you settle down, and that is when the weight loss starts. I saw 190 again yesterday, but then back up to 192 but I was seeing 194. So hopefully, I will continue to go back down. what's new???
gg, remember we are going to have "bust" days along our journey.
afm: I am still straggling, but I am feeling closer to getting with the program again. We have just been slammed with financial issues, then my tooth broke, i think my baby had a stomach bug...he was insanely fussy for days. My oldest has so much to do, he wears me out, and then I look out for my friends who are also in alot of trouble in various areas. And of course there is school.
But HIS strength is made perfect in our weaknesses. I got my tooth fixed for little to nothing, but I pray that my other tooth does not need a root canal like they think. I think it is fine. Just sensitive.
I have yet to do the exercises. I get overwhelmed figuring out what I need to do, I do nothing. crazy huh?

It My Turn, New pic looks very nice! It is hard losing a MIL, I am trying to give my hubby as much support as he needs. I still have both of my parents and he has lost both of his I can't even imagine how he must feel.
Jen, I hate anything that has to do with my teeth it usually is so painful, I hope everything worksout and you do not need a root canal. Unfortunately we too are dealing with finacial issues due to my husband being laid-off (which he has been at his new job going on three weeks) and then with his mom passing away and having no preparations and life insurance. It is rough! Once you get everything else figured out the exercising will come, I really like working out to the Zumba DVD's everytime I exercise I can't believe I did it for 45 min. Kids are the best they keep us young or make us feel way old at the same time.
AFM, We are starting to get back to normal a little. Probably will have to make another 3 hour trip this weekend to finish cleaning out my hubby's mom place (it was a rental and we have to have it cleaned out by Nov.1) My children keep me going when times get rough. I love to see them play and laugh it is the best.

Jen - I have never done the IF, but it sounds like it works similar to all others, do it for awhile and form better habits :) That's awesome and I hope it's the best for you :) Maybe just worry about a little moving instead of stressing over a fitness routine just yet? I don't know, just throwing out ideas
Still struggling medically with some physical issues, so have yet to be able to get back into my fitness comfort zone. I have been looking everywhere to help with things to keep my motivation and attitude positive, so decided to do a side-by-side. I have just facial changes since I avoided cameras like the plague back in the day... but one pic is from the closest to "start" as I could find and the other pic was taken just yesterday morning. Hopefully a difference will be apparent :)

Geauxgirl, thank you so much! :) We did a 4nt cruise on the Disney Dream, and then spent 2 nts at Animal Kingdom Lodge. Sounds like you have a nice little group going. I am sure you will have a great time, no matter which resort all of you decide on. The scale was good to me. I will post my results below. Sounds like you had a great time with your friend, you need that from time to time. The main thing is you are back on plan. ;)

Jen, sorry to hear that! Hope everything gets better. All you can do is take one day at a time. I use to get overwhelmed with exercise, housework, organizing etc. Until I found and read this book called "Eat That Frog". GREAT book and highly recommend it to everyone. :)
As for me, I weighed in today at 198.2! Talk about amazed! Yesterday, I weighed in at 201.6 a 3.4 lb loss from yesterday?! I knew all of my weight gain was water , but didn't expect to lose it within a day. I did a detox yesterday, my daily food intake consumed of 2 protein shakes (protein, fiber, fruit, veggies) 1 for breakfast, and 1 for lunch, 2 pieces of fruit (1 in morning, 1 in afternoon), 3 cups of green tea (morning, afternoon, night), and dinner was a piece of grilled fish and a huge salad (homemade balsamic dressing). Plus I drank 128 oz of water. I am VERY happy today!
I am at work today. Just found out I will be off tomorrow and Fri, sounds great to me. It will be nice having a long weekend off. I hope everyone has a good day.

afm: saw 191 again today, so I know I am on the right track. I really do think insulin resistance has alot to do with my milk supply. When I sensitize my body by doing IF, I know I see better results with nursing, and weight loss.
I had a cathartic moment today. I just busted out bawling...and told my SO I can't raise my eldest by myself anymore. It used to be so easy, but now I feel so lost, especially with his transitioning to manhood. I don't like feeling weak or vulnerable, but I just had to admit it, I can't do it.
I bought hair coloring, but decided a whole color was too drastic, and I am scared to ruin my hair. I bought the cap to pull the strands through, but am not sure I like the color, and then I am not sure I want to do that by myself. lol. Overwhelmed again, so I do nothing.
I move alot, so that is not a problem. I would like to try to work in jogging while I watch tv, I can do that barefoot, I don't have to think about anything, learn anything, or get changed or anything...so that is most realistic for me.

Jen, Thank you! Forgot to add, I do not use sweetener in the green tea (that doesn't taste good LOL). Sorry to hear you are having difficulties with your son. That is a hard stage on some parents. Hope everything gets better, and you get the help you need. What color did you buy? I know that can be scary. Have you thought about buying the 6 week washout? My hair stylist told me if I wasn't happy with my color, I could use Pantene, that it strips your hair color, and not to use it unless that was my intention.
As for me, today, I am going to unpack, finally. Nice to have the next 5 days off. :) I continued my detox yesterday (same as Tues), going back to my regular plan today. Happy it helped me get back on track. Still waiting on my vacation pics, hubby needs to upload them. Here are 2 more pics, the photographer took.

Plus I have TOM! It arrived yesterday, so of course I thought the scale would go up, reason I wanted to check today. While on vacation, I didn't eat the best, but I wasn't that bad either, but I knew all of my choices had a ton of sodium, which is the one thing I stay away from. Sugar wasn't an issue, I am not a sweets/dessert person. Plus I got lots of exercise in. I started to think I wouldn't make my Oct Challenge, of 10 lbs. It will be close. :)

As for me... making it through work. Have had to keep pumping the anti-spasm med and the tylenol to me, but I am making it! YAY! I have a 2 hr training to do this afternoon and that will help break up some of the monotony for me :) I like that I am not quite as dragged as I was from fighting the pain yesterday... my eyes are heavy, but my body is so ready to do something :D Hope everyone else is having an awesome day!!!

jitter, because you have been on a hiatus, the weekend will seem like you are pushing your goals further out--well if you don't do well this weekend. Just tell yourself that--I'm only prolonging meeting my goals.
Transforming, I like the black and white, but I love the playful color one of you laying in the grass and kicking your feet together. Yay on the good weigh in.
afm, I had a busy day, but some good things. I got my teeth cleaned, I love the feeling of clean teeth. And I finally colored my hair. I bought Dark Brown in Revlon Color Silk. I was very intimidated by it, but just wanted to get it done....and my neighbor's son's girlfriend came by, she is a salon stylist--so I asked her, and she came over and helped me color it and trimmed it for me. She also inspired me that she lost a bunch of weight by going to jazzercise. (She had twins). Anyways, so I am loving the rich color. My hair is naturally a medium reddish brown. And this is just so deep and rich. Also my hair had so many colors in it, the ends were much lighter....and this is uniform and just pretty. This is the first time, I have ever had a permanent color put in, I did a semi perm 10 years ago, and it was a mahogany brown--and my head turned fuschia.
Scale read 190.6. So I am seeing much better numbers. I am going to keep doing IF to get back down...and I am not going to change it up this time....I did too much last time...trying to count calories, trying to increase my exercise, and trying to eat low carbs. While I was doing IF I was losing. I also did very light strength and jogged when I wanted to.

Jitterfish, You are doing awesome! Sorry you have difficulty during the weekend. The weekends are easier for me, I am home and have everything here. Do you plan your meals out? Have snacks on hand? Just take each day, one day at a time. You will reach your 100 lb goal in no time. Congrats!!

As for me, just going to get some house cleaning done, finish laundry. Yesterday was my MIL birthday, hubby and I are going to visit with her tonight. Tomorrow we have a Halloween/birthday party, most of the people there haven't seen me since I lost the weight, so they will be shocked. I have 2 sisters that haven't seen me since last Christmas, which I have lost 59.6 lbs since then (last Christmas I weighed 255.6). Then food shop/prep/plan on Sunday. Nice busy weekend. What plans does everyone have?

Transforming: Beautiful pics! Hope the party goes well - it's always so exciting when people start noticing the weight loss. At this stage only my mom is giving me compliments and you can't believe moms - they're biased! HOpefully at some point people will start noticing. Not that I'm doing it for compliments, but it always gives a boost. Maybe when my pants land on the floor as they're threatening to do at the moment when I forget that I need to wear a belt!
Everyone else: Still fighting the good fight?
This week has been crazy busy at work. I've been soooo tired that I just cried the whole way home yesterday evening and was in bed by 8:30. I know, very sad. I know everyone has many more responsibilities than I do and I respect you all for that. But honestly, between work, trying to get to gym (didn't happen at all this week), social responsibility (my charity boxes are due today), keeping up with friends and actually trying to date (this one seems like a bit waste of time right now!), life seems a bit overwhelming. Anyway, despite the bad work week, my weight week was good, and I'm down to 154 pounds. I've lost just more than 16 in 7 weeks. Exciting weight for me because this morning I was at exactly 70 kgs. Which means that the 60's are in sight. Haven't seen those in many years! Hope everyone has a really good weekend. Mine is just work, nothing exciting, but always good to be able to do that from home :-)

Jen we needs pics! I haven't dyed my hair in forever, use to always have it coloured but now I have just accepted my hair colour. I did spray it black the other day for a party. I dressed up as a geisha, painted my face white and hair black. It was not a pretty sight alas because alcohol was involved and after many years of not drinking I had a wee bit too much to drink. Plus my face paint came off as the night progressed -LOL- I'm considering posting a pic, I can't remember if I did or not (I posted so many darn pics all over the place I forget where I have and haven't!).
Transforming how exciting for you with your party! Nothing better than people who haven't seen your for a while getting to see a positive change, enjoy!

Morning everyone! Been a busy week for me so I haven't had much of a chance to check in and I'll try to catch up on posts in a bit.
Not much new going on here. I've finally seemed to have broken the 222-221 numbers, only just though. Today I am 220.6. Which I'm proud to say is exactly 20 pounds down from my actual recommitting date on 8/22/11. So I'm pleased about that. Now next week I want to see some numbers in the 2 - teens!
I also went to Academy yesterday and got some new tennis shoes. Needed them badly apparently. I was reading some websites that say you should change your shoes out about every 6 months. (My old pair, I had them for 2 years!!). I noticed yesterday while I was doing my c25k thing that I was slipping a little during an area where I ran thru a small patch of sand. So I checked the bottoms of my shoes, and they were quite worn down. So I got me some new Asics, new socks and 3 long sleeved tees. I got 2XL thinking that since that's the size I'm wearing now, that would be a good guess. Well got them home and ugh, too tight. I know I"ll be in them soon but that was a little discouraging. Speaking of discouraging, they just do not have any good selections for ahem, "bigger" people who are TRYING to lose weight! Apparently Academy only caters to size 2-6's. UGH ok vent over.
Where do you all buy your exercise clothes? Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Ok off to the gym and then a ton of errands, housework and laundry. Ugh. Have a great Saturday everyone!

Well, as predicted the scale was up this morning. I am not concerned about it and refuse to adjust my ticker to match it... started TOM and have been battling the medical issues for the last week and a half but have stayed OP for my food intake, so should see it drop back down next week. So much for meeting goal this month though... eh

omg, the scale is up 5 lbs! What conceivable thing have I done to gain that much weight???? And for it jump up 5 lbs in a few days. Please, please, go back down. I don't get it. I stopped eating alot, because I was just sure that was causing me to gain...and now this?

afm: still in shock about the scale today, but that didn't stop me from eating junk. I needed it. I didn't eat that much today, but I'm afraid the scale will keep going up....I will try to analyze my calories...but i've really been eating alot of fiber and its not going anywhere if ykwim. I bet that is part of my problem. But I am really loving apple cinnamon oatmeal right now.
I will talk to you all later, and try to get a pic up for you. My computer is being so slow and stupid.

Itsmyturn and Jen: looks like the morning for "ups" I put on just under a pound. My body tends to do this though (I keep a log of every day's weigh in) and I seem to get 3 mini losses and then a mini gain and stabilising for 3 days and then 3 mini losses again. Who knows why. I guess I should change to weekly weigh ins, but I feel like I'm still trying to analyse what works for me and what doesn't.
So we'll all just "vasbyt" (awesome term meeting "grit our teeth" or literally bite fast) and keep going.

gg: New shoes, new clothes, both things I love and both things I haven't bought in ages! Because I lost weight then gained again I had a selection of clothes at lower sizes that I've been able to fit. Now though I am at the stage where I have no smaller sizes so I will actually have to go shopping some time soon. Problem is I haven't lost my Mummy tummy so I can't actually drop a size even though other parts of my body are ready to go down!
I did buy new lingerie on the weekend because my lil boy weaned a couple weeks ago (didn't quite make it to 1yr like I hoped, but 11mos is all good!) so bye bye nursing bras! I bought sexy too vavavooom.
Momwannabe: Interesting body rhythm, my sister has a similar cycle that is either three weeks gaining or staying the same before losing all at once.
I know you guys have said this to me, don't focus on the scale too much! A gain will be followed by a loss.
afm well I went for a short run/walk this morning and am pretty happy with the day. Resisted carrot cake which I love! And Monday tomorrow so off to the gym yay.

Well crapity crap. Scale went back up to 221. I'm so dang tired of seeing that number. Onederland by Jan 1st, now may be just a pipe dream.
Jitter - that's awesome! Nothing makes a girl feel sexier than getting some new bras and lingerie! Good for you!

You are doing great, and will fit them soon. I usually buy my workout clothes at the thrift store or Kohls. Keep pushing forward, don't let it discourage you. You will get past it!
Jen, Thank you. Keeping track of your daily food intake is a great idea. You will be able to see what you need to adjust. Hang in there girl, don't let this discourage you.
As for me, the party was great! It was good seeing everyone. :) I had a lot of friends/family ask me "how I did it?", and wanting me to help them. Hearing the compliments were nice. Made me feel good! Happy to say, we avoided the party food. They had fried chicken, potato salad, macaroni salad, taco dip/chips, spinach dip/bread/pretzels, crackers and cheese, chips, soda, chocolate cake and yellow cake. Hubby and I packed our own food. The party was 2 hours away, so we snacked on veggies during the ride, and ate before we got there. Just drank bottled water while we were there. Of course they expected us to eat, but understood. Which was a huge relief, normally, someone says you have to eat......LOL
When we got home, my daughter (19 years old) was waiting up. We talked for a couple hours. She just started her healthy lifestyle yesterday, is about 25 lbs overweight, spent the day writting in her journal, goals she wants to obtain, workout routine etc. What made me feel good was, she said "mom, I hope I look like you when I grow up. What have been your secrets, to staying young?" I told her "drinking water, staying out of the sun (except for 10 mins a day for Vit D), wear sunscreen when you do, and don't smoke/drink." She pulled out her journal and wrote it down. Too cute!! My daughter is beautiful, so to hear that, made me feel great. :)

I never want to go back, I haven't felt this good, or been this happy in a long time. That is one of the things that keeps me going. Everyone needs to figure out their "why", why they want this, and that will be the secret/key to their success. :)

Momwannabe - I do weekly weigh-ins, though I do sneak a peek mid-week through, LOL. I am glad you are noticing your patterns though, that usually helps me to reason out gains and losses to know what causes both.
jitter - Congrats on moving on to a new chapter in your clothing life... the sexy undies that follow the nursing bras is always exciting...add to that, the loss you have had, and I am betting you are feeling pretty good! On my end - I ran around like a chicken with it's head cut off this weekend, LOL! But at the end of it, got all the kids the stuff they needed to be fully prepped for Halloween happiness :) I had also picked myself up a denim skirt at the thrift store while we were there... it's black denim on top, then goes into a flowy skirt (so very appropriate for work)... bought it a juniors 13.... got it home... and it's loose enough I could have went down another size! :O Holy crow! I weigh the same now as I was as a misses 14 a few years back, but... I think that my working out is what has totally reshaped me this time around. When I was this weight before, there was no working out, no strength training...these are all new implements this time around and they seem to truly make a huge difference :) It was really nice to see that. Anywho... hope everyone has a great Halloween! I won't be home in time from work for the first trick-or-treaters...but my son is going to pass out until I get there - such a great guy :)

Jen - :hug: awww! Don't be discouraged hon! You are an inspiration to me :) You are not only trying to figure out what works while jugging the nursing thing, but have added issues of fitting in with the family stuff, trying to be a mommy, etc. Yet you still know that devoting time for yourself to gain more health is important - seeing you constantly trying to fit that in cause YOU are worth it, has been an inspiration to me to know I am worth it and deserve to do that as well. Your kids are young, mine are older, if you can do it, no reason I shouldn't be able to :) Please, I know it is frustrating, but just remember to go by how you feel... forget those evil scale numbers for a bit maybe and go simply on your overall feel of yourself?

I just wanted to say to everyone that I think we are all doing amazing. Those approaching ONEderland keep it up, I forget now who said Jan 1st was looking less likely, give yourself some lenience, I mean this time of year is HARD! Halloween, thanksgiving, christmas, new years... its a dieters nightmare -LOL- But if we can eat less than before that is great! If you can't resist don't beat yourself up, this is the time of the year for celebrations lets enjoy but not blow out!

Wow Jitter you look remarkable! (and it was me who said that about the whole Jan 1st thing). Thanks for those words. I've been really caught up in this stupid number and plateau that I'm on and I'm not really looking at the overall picture here.
Thanks everyone for the kind words and encouragement! I really need to try to only get on the scale on actual weigh in days (Friday and Sunday. Friday is one for a challenge that I'm on and Sunday is my personal w.i. day). I just want to be in that next decade so badly!
Oh well new month today and ya'll dont forget that daylight savings time is this coming weekend (those of us in the States..)

ItsMyTurn- to be out of plus size clothing...oh how glorious that must feel! I just went
shopping for jeans and had to buy the same size (18) just tighter fitting ones. Since I have no bum and small legs but a big tummy, its really hard to find nice fitting jeans. The old loose jeans fit well on my tummy but are soooo baggy in the leg and bum area it looks ridiculous. The new ones fit well on the legs but make me have a muffin top. Which is better!?
Jen- I understand your discouragment. Remember you aren't alone and this is just a normal phase in the dieting cycle. You WILL overcome it!

Shalyn - It sounds like you and I have the same body type. If I got pants to fit on my waist, then it looked like I was swimming in the legs.... if I got them to fit the legs, they were way too tight on my waist to be able to sit comfortably or I would spill over the top. I am all belly... no hips, no bum... although I have always had decent looking legs - they are thicker with muscle, but that's about it. Frustrating on trying to find nice things, but I never had a choice but to muscle through it because of working in corporate setting. I soooo feel your pain. Any consolation though, when you are able to hit the losing battle again, it does start to even out a bit (still belly favored a lot), easier to find pants to fit better.*hugs* You are amazing though... I could have never thought of maintaining weight while nursing... one big task at a time is how I function, :lol: You soooo rock!

As for me another pound gone, we have got through the funeral and we are back home for awhile at least until right before Christmas. Unfortunately when my husbands mom passed away it closed a chapter in all our lives. We will not need to travel down that way very much any more. I still feel so sad for my boys, including my hubby. Well all of you are doing so great keep it up.

As for me, I weighed in today at 194. I reached my 50 lb goal! Feels amazing! Didn't make my Nov 1st goal, which was 193, but I don't care! LOL Looking to change my exercise routine starting tomorrow, adding yoga, and longer cardio/weight training days. Hopefully my muscles don't hold too much water! For recovery. I am on plan with food/water, so I know if I don't see a drop, that is what it is. It will come off sooner or later. Thanksgiving is coming. What is everyone's plan? We are going to my husbands parents house, they are cooking most of the food, and I plan on making 4 healthy dishes, and desserts.

Little man is so fussy! His nana is coming today, and I just want to pull my hair out. I have tried everything....he's been fussing for an hour now.

shalyn, I am so glad I have someone with the same obstacles to overcome on here...don't go anywhere. My pants are sagging really badly on me too. I am pretty sure I didn't gain any muscle...I don't know what's up with my pants...but I am sure its not weight loss.

gg, in nursing school our mental health teacher told us a good strategy for nursing school was to "tie a knot in the rope and hold on" I feel like that now, but I'm holding as tight as I can. gg: I think you need to do what I did and put the scale out of sight. Mine is a cupboard that has the kitchen bin in front of it, so to weigh in I have to move two things, open the door then find the scale. Because I started out weekly weighing but those jumping on the scales increased and it became daily. Some people do good with daily, some better weekly, some better montly. Give twice a week a go like you said but get that scale out of sight!
Shalyn and IMT: I've got weighty legs still, but I hear you on the stomach issue. I really am a mummy-tummy battler, I've got clothes that fit everywhere except the stomach, so its either wearing clothes that are too big or too small. But its getting better, one because fashion seems to be favouring loose tops and the other because the tummy is slowly going away. I so wish I could spot train though!
KH: Congrats on your weight loss when you are going through family stuff like a family loss. I would have blown out, give yourself some kudos.

well, I'm still going in the wrong direction. It seems EVERYTHING is being stored on my body. I think I am having more of a problem with insulin resistance now...and the if is not working for some reason.
I'm going to do something drastic for a couple of days, I hope my milk supply will hang on.
I am going to take my smooth move tea, and stick to all liquids (teas and breakfast drink) and 1 meal for a couple of days. Hopefully that will give my digestive system, pancreas, and everything a rest.

Jen I know calorie counting didn't work for you but I have to say maybe you need to give it another go (or low carb or intuitive eating whatever) because you current plan doesn't seem too healthy to me. I know you're talking about just a couple days but you've got to take care of yourself for your little one, its not just about milk supply its about your overall health. You're over the half way mark, the last half is always harder than the first. Stop the daily weighing and give it two weeks, see what happens.

Transforming - Great job on the 50 gone!!! :dance: :cheer: :woohoo: That is amazing! What a mark to hit!!! Your Thanksgiving plans sound wonderful! When we lived in Maine we would have my parents over, a friend of ours and his father for a big meal and enjoy the company - now that we moved so far away, we were having my DH's mother over for a meal... but now she has passed this year too... so looks like it's just DH, me and the kiddos left. We will eat quick, get a nap and prep for Black Friday all night shopping. Last year DH and I set out at 9:30pm Thanksgiving night and then got done about 2pm Friday afternoon...fortunately Black Friday is a paid holiday through my work :lol:
Is it possible for you to have some protein before you work out in the morning? I am betting that would help with that sick feeling you had.
Jen - how is your son now? Has his fussing eased? I sure hope so. My oldest two went through VERY fussy stages and they drove me nuts - it's so frustrating when you feel as the mom you should be able to soothe them, yet nothing works... my son was colic and later had a partial blockage of his small intestines... and he was soooo unhappy! My oldest girl had reflux from being so premature (had her at 24.5wks gestation)... so she was not a happy camper either. To find a way to soothe almost made them different babies.. so I hope you have that relief real soon. I am betting your stress level being so high is what has caused the stagnancy in the numbers on the scale. maybe being able to incorporate some yoga or something could help??
As for me - super LONG day today. Working a 10 hr shift cause of a coworker taking today off, add in the hour commute each way and that's a long day. Then when I get home, I have to give DS both of his injections tonight and do supper (DH will be with oldest daughter, getting her new RA medicine via infusion... this one is also done at oncology office - she doesn't mind so much cause they have a great set up). I also have to put a heated washcloth on my right eye as I have developed a sty...and since I can't drive for crap without my contacts in, there has been no reprieve :lol: I should sooooo not be driving rush hour on the interstate without contact, :lol: I have no depth perception without the script, LOL, so I can see myself being a half mile back and everyone getting ticked off :D Hoping to maybe fit in a workout - could really use one today...even if just cardio...something. We will see though... been up since 3:30am, won't even get home until after 6pm... so play it by ear I suppose :) Hope you all are having a wonderful Friday-Eve!!!

Ok ladies, you are looking at one happy bouncing lady today. Got off the scales and let them reset and got back on just to check, because my weigh in was 86.1kg which is 189.8lbs. I am three pounds away from losing 100! I hoped to reach this goal before December and I think I am going to make it. Although DH is in Australia twice this month so I know chances are I will eat crap because I'll be tired looking after the kids by myself to cook (although I'm hoping to be super prepared and also maybe go visit my Mum during his second trip so kids can have Nana time).
Now just have to stay on plan over the weekend, at least this weekend we don't have any social plans so it should be easier to stay on plan. Have a great weekend if I don't check in to see you all.

Itsmyturn, Thank you so much! It is very exciting! I am 1/2 way there. ;) Sorry to hear that. I hope all of you have a great dinner. We love Black Friday, camped outside Best Buy a few times. LOL That is great you get paid for it! I work out first thing in the morning, so no I am not able to eat beforehand. I never had this problem before. I did up my exercise, and today, I worked out for 1.5 hours, and was fine. I think just changing it up. Which was the plan. LOL I drink plenty of water during my workout, about 1 - 2 glasses, and drink my protein shake (I add fiber, fruit, veggies, and almond milk) right away. Thanks for the suggestion, if I had more time in the morning, I would eat first, but my time is limited. WOW girl, a long day is right! I don't know how you do it! The last thing I would be thinking about is cardio. ;) I hope you have a great night!

Transforming - I knew you worked out in morning, didn't realize it was first thing... let's hope your body adjusts and stops cussing at you ;) I don't mind the long days (as long as they keep signing my checks anyway, lol)... and actually working out after having your brain worked all day is pretty refreshing - just a matter of finding the time, :lol: Supper is always good...it's the one time each day that we all get together.. me, the hubster, and all 3 kids - all in the same place at the same time! :) I remember when the kids were in many activities (sports and such) and the suppers got knocked down to only a couple times a week...the KIDS called a family meeting and asked if there was a way to fix that - so they love it too :D !!!
I am out of here in a bit less than an hour now... excited cause that means in about 2-ish hours, I get to be HOME! YAY! I have been pounding the water today. Almost feel thirsty too much :lol: Let's hope that means I am "back" early with my health!!! Woohoo! Things are looking up! Busy as heck, but better and back on track :D

Awww - thanks for missing me ladies!!!! I've missed you all so much too! I got back home on Sunday...to no electricity AGAIN because of the freakishly early snow storm. We got power back late last night, so life is returning to normal. This has been such an usual year of electricity loss. I can count three times my whole life I've endured extended power outages - two of which have occurred in the last two months. So crazy!!!!
I haven't caught up on posts yet - just wanted to pop in and say HI! Will go back and catch up next.
My trip was a lot of fun. Busy, but fun. I ate 1/2 on plan, 1/2 off, and came home up 1.5 pounds. I'm almost back to my starting weight (a few ounces away), so I'm very happy. I got through Halloween and the power outage without overeating and gorging on candy, so I'm doubly pleased with that, LOL! :D

As for me - Yay! I got on the elliptical last night even though it was late when I did it! I did the pyramid workout for lower body... kept imagining me in smaller pants, and that kept me going :) They are predicting a huge dust storm for my commute home, but if it doesn't come so I can get home at a decent hour, then I am getting back on and hoping to complete the fat burner program! :) I only hurt very little (from medical issues) from doing that last night... so I do believe I AM BACK! YAY!!!!

Transforming - OMG CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!! 50 pounds gone forever! What an accomplishment! We go to my parents house for Thanksgiving lunch and he fries turkeys. They are so good but omg so bad for you! In fact I'm sitting here thinking that just about every dish we make really isn't all the healthy. I will definitely need to exercise that morning and I will definitely try to gain a bit of willpower too. But that being said, the side dishes I make (corn casserole and sweet potato crunch) are a Thanksgiving staple at our house and people may riot if I try to bring something a bit healthier. :dizzy:
Jitter - WOW so close and you are doing so wonderfully! Are you planning on doing something special when you do hit that 100 pound mark? You need to treat yourself to something!

AFM - Still plugging along! I saw a tiny glimmer of hope on the scale this morning. 219.6!!!!!! FINALLY! But I'm not too entirely optimistic because TOM is knocking at the door so I'm sure I'll have some water retention going on. I am not gonna let that stop me though. I'm really gonna try to make a goal of losing 5 pounds before Thanksgiving. More would be nice but I know that may not be possible. 5 pounds seems just about right. I finished week 4 of C25K this morning too.

Its my turn, This year it looks like we too will have a small Thanksgiving too. I think it is nice to have a big celebration but it sure is a lot of work. We love to go Black Friday shopping (my hubby too) Good job on the ellipitcal workout last night sorry you are a little sore. AFM, This is the first weekend in quite awhile that I will be home with my family. We have so much yard stuff that needs to be done before the first snow. I can't believe that it is almost Thanksgiving, time has flew by for the past two months. Well yesterday went to the Dr. because I have pink eye, sometimes I hate working in a school but, yet I love it so. I hand sanitize every 15 minute it seems but yet that was not enough. I hope all of you have a great weekend.

Khumphrey - Big celebrations are a lot of work, but honestly, doesn't seem right for us not to have them now. Kind of odd to have most of the day to just kick around, LOL! geauxgirl - Unfortunately, no - I don't get let out if it gets too bad. Matter of fact, since I live so far away from where I work, it doesn't usually hit up here IN Phoenix (where I work)... but it's the interstate and the highway rides home that are the mess cause they are not populated with buildings and in the desert terrain. They can last anywhere from 15 mins up to an hour and a half was one of the biggest ones this year. I drove through the 2nd one without issue, but was already mostly home and none of the drivers in front of me were being idiots...which is rare... and that is where the problems are, if you can't see, pull over and let us through...and don't be an idiot driver weaving through traffic with visibility like that either - that's where the problems happen. I was glad I was home by the time the first one hit us... I took a mess of pictures - almost looks apocolyptic

LOL I hear ya, exercise sure helps your body, mind and soul, the only problem is fitting it in your schedule, which is why I do it first thing in the morning, I want to make sure nothing happens, keeping me from my workout. Aww that is great, the kids called a family meeting for more family dinners. AWESOME! :) GREAT workout, and I do the same thing when working out, I zone into what I will be wearing etc, just gives me extra energy. Dust storm sounds horrible, happy to hear you made it home and you are doing better!

As for me, I am doing ok. I have been dealing with an allergy cold the past few days, doctoring myself up, seems to get a little worse each day, but manageable. Of all times to hit.....my body has been super sore from my new workouts. I hope it starts to ease up, because I do not want to take any time off. LOL Finished my food shopping/planning last night. Today, we are making chili, spaghetti sauce, turkey meatballs, and freezing it. Makes it nice and easy during the week with meals. Yesterday, we made pizza, I didn't have any sauce left (spaghetti sauce in the freezer), so I looked in my cabinet, saw a can of tomatoes fire roasted with garlic, so I decided to put it in the blender, omg it made GREAT pizza sauce! Plus it is cheap, $1 a can, and I only needed 1/3 of the can, I put the rest in the freezer, in case I need it again. I love making my own, because I use fresh tomatoes, herbs and spices and is VERY low in sodium.
Almost time for my workout out. Today is yoga day! I hope everyone has a great day/weekend! :)

So I survived the week. I don't even want to count how many hours I worked this week, but I'm betting it's up near 90. I only have 5 more weeks of work, but so many people need help this time of the year, that I'm really trying to fit everyone in. And then we had a leak in our building so I've been mopping up water all morning.
Needless to say, the thing that got lost this week was gym and sleep. Really hoping to get back into work out mode this next week. But my eating has been on plan, even with one unexpected eating out night. Hanging around the 153 mark - about 17 pounds down.
Sounds like everyone's had some challenges this week! You are all amazing for hanging in there. We are an awesome group if I say so myself ;-)

Update on me - the vacation pounds have come off and then some. New low this morning!! I was very excited. I know the whole metabolism resetting theory is controversial but I'm really starting to think my week half off/half on plan (still lots of exercise, so no change there) really jump started my metabolism again. Since returning to 100% plan last Sunday, I've had major whooshing down. I find those patterns fascinating - I'm a nerd, LOL!

Honestly I have found the occasional dust storm not to be as bad as snow (I have lived in an abundance of both). We have no black ice to deal with on the roads, no worry of plows coming by in time for work.. so I guess each area has their quirks :)

khumphrey, my yard is calling me everyday. I have roses, and flowers to tend to, and everyday nothing gets done. :( My roses are being bold and trying to look pretty for me, but I need to cut them back...really a beautiful garden inspires me, and gives me a much needed relaxation fix.
afm: throat is sooo much better, I started the anti-b's and feel much, much better. I can function. But in my sickness, I forgot my homework again, and I have another group project due. I appealed to my teacher, but I don't know how gracious she will be, so pray for favor.
someone mentioned my eating seemed unhealthy. Not really if you consider what a big eater I am, I can put stuff away in 2 hours. That is why I chose this style...the rest of the day is a liquid fast, which I really am NOT liking. Especially if I eat early in the day. Tonight is a real TEST. I love having dinner, and I am having some cream of mushroom soup for dinner instead of something else. I did it because I have become almost gluttonous, and when I restrict myself, I don't take food for granted anymore.

Jen - I am SOOOO glad your throat is starting to feel better. Strep sucks, almost feels like swallowing glass. The last bout with strep I had, literally almost killed me...they couldn't find it, yet allergic to the antibiotics they normally use... was a bad coaster that planted me in hospital with them calling my family. Sounds like your garden is like therapy :) I think we all need an outlet like that
AFM - did an hour on the gym doing circuit training and ended with 10 min cool down on elliptical... I know, not much of a cool down, but felt soo good. Abs are hurting and reminding me they are now alive and not happy with me, LOL! So...went walking the dog tonight with DH :) LOL! DH kept calling me a workout glutton :lol: I am officially back in the swing of things - so much that even DH agreed to go biking with me tomorrow morning! YAY! I look forward to our rides! AFM, nothing much to report today. I did work out like a fiend last week. I managed every single day with the exception of Wednesday. So I finally feel like I'm back in the swing of things exercise wise and food has been OP as well. I've seen 219 on the scale two days now so hoping I'm finally out of those dreaded 220s for good. So so tired of seeing that number!

myturn, I thought it felt like razor blades myself. It aggravated me that the dr. at the express care acted like I didn't have it, because I know I did, once I had it, I never will forget that pain. jitter, my friend told me she visited a friend's house today and EVERYBODY in the house had strep throat. (I hope it is not my fault). I think we are going to experience an outbreak, i'm glad to have it over with. I hope your little ones get better. little ones are just miserable when they are sick.
afm: saw 192 again on the scale, so this way is working for me. It really reminds me that food is a tool, I don't understand why I get so out of control (binging) but fasting really does seem to reset me. I also don't know why the intermittent fasting stopped working? I feel alot better, but i am tired.
My project was due by 12 am Arizona time, and they are normally 3 hours before me, but tonight they are 2 hours before me and I didn't realize! I lost an hour!!! Project was almost late. Gah! My classmate in arizona informed me of the discrepancy. I did not finish a few things...I hope it won't hurt us too much.

I am glad the fasting is helping to reset you :) Your body may have gotten accustomed to the IF and that may be why it was no longer effective? You were maybe needing to mix it up a bit?

Transforming - We didn't end up doing the bike ride, but instead I did a bunch of other stuff to burn calories instead :) I went for a good walk in the morning, then did walking while doing errands later, then did some serious cleaning. I don't have time to do biking in the mornings on a weekday. I am up at 3:30am as is... no way can I get up any earlier :)
As for me, went to go to work and ended up turning around to have DH drive me. I couldn't see the lines cause it was so dark and raining so hard. I did get here though, and even on time :) So yay for that! :) Felt bad though, since he had to drive me, it meant the oldest daughter and DS had to walk to bus stop in that rain cause DH wasn't there to drive them. After work today, will have to see what DH says I have to do for errands, but if not many, I am fitting in another workout. It is feeling so good to be back on my game - I have lost time to make up for

Nothing too exciting to share with me. Attended three soccer games yesterday (2 for my youngest, 1 for my oldest), so spent the entire day outside and traveling. Took the day off from exercise. Back to work this morning - shaping up to be a busy week in the office.

AFM, Crazy weekend did not get all my workouts in and I felt like crap, but I am back at it today already have 60 min in for the morning. My 5 yr old was sick all weekend fever and sorethroat, so I worked from home this morning. Can you believe that we hung up Christmas Lights on Sunday! I can't believe it is just around the corner. But, other than that decent weekend it was great to have the hubby home for the first weekend in many weeks.

Itsmyturn, Sounds like you had a nice busy day, and burned a lot of calories. House cleaning is a great way to do it! ;) Plus the bonus of having a clean house. You sure get up early! I get up at 5am, and start work at 8am. What time do you go to bed? Hope you get another workout in.

As for me, I went to the doctor. I have mild bronchitis. The dr put me on antibiotics. I should be feeling better soon. So happy it didn't set me back. Also had a physical/blood work done, for hubbys works, if we do the physical, we get incentives for each health test we pass, dr said we look great, will fill everything out, when he receives our test back. We will be receiving, between $800 - $1,100. We sure pushed it to the deadline, they were suppose to be done by 11/30. It is something we can do every year. Couldn't pass up free money, towards medical expenses. LOL
Other than that, everything is going well. I hope everyone has a good night.

Jen - I sure do, I love it here in AZ. My parents have had rain in my hometown state and we are not missing that at all :) It also makes it nice for year round outside exercise (except summer cause it gets way too hot passed a certain time of morning). So glad the scale is moving in the right direction for you! Sounds like you are totally getting things pulled together again! :) I am so happy for you!!! :dance:
dogdays - Don't get me wrong, love the rain cause it's so rare here, just wish it would hold off til daylight, LOL :) 3 soccer games in one day is a lot! :) Get back on the bandwagon and get in some wonderful workouts for YOU now :) You so deserve it!
khumphrey - My brother and his family have their Christmas lights outside all hung now too and even has his tree up and decorated :O I say if you can take advantage of good weather, better than having a snowsuit on to do it all :)
Transforming - I do get up early, but leave my house by 5:30am to get to work by 7am. When I go to bed depends on what is going on for the day. Usually doing my workout at 7pm, shower, have something to eat, and try to be in bed by 9:30 on a day when there is nothing going on... on the days there is...well, I do my best to squeeze in what I can and refuse to go to bed later than 10... if I do, then I am a total grump. I have to get 5 good hours of sleep a night or I am just not a pleasant soul the next day, :lol: Sorry to hear about the bronchitis... hope the antibiotics kick in fast for you! That is great that you get incentives for insuring you keep healthy!!!! Win-win!
DH wrote me an email and said he landed an interview for a part time job tomorrow morning!!! :dance: It will such a great thing if he can land it!!!! Fingers crossed. He did get the errands run for me though, and DD doesn't have PT today...so I am getting in a workout! YAY! Today is just a day of "yay"s! LOL! Still haven't received a rejection email for the position I applied for... it's odd that it's taking this long for them to decide. I hope you all have a great day!!!

khumphrey - Christmas Lights...ahhhh! I can't believe it's around the corner either. I'm not ready this year, LOL, but I do LOVE the holiday. My DH goes all out with decorating our house - even won a decorating contest one year in our town. We nicknamed him Clark W. Griswold. I hope your little one is feeling better today.

As for me - had a good workout last night. Weights and elliptical. I usually alternate days for cardio and strength, but decided to double up for a change of pace and felt good about it. Changing it up constantly seems to keep my body from hitting a plateau wall. And despite having a little Godiva chocolate truffle yesterday (TOM weakness, LOL - I worked it into my plan though!), I enjoyed another new low this morning on the scale.

Itsmyturn, such a long day. I couldn't imagine. I thought my day was long, getting up at 5am, going to bed at 10pm. I was just telling hubby, I want to push for 8 hours of sleep a day, so we have to give up our show every night, and go to bed at 9pm. LOL I wouldn't be pleasant with only 5 hours a day, especially over the course of time. Thanks, I hope it does too. Today, my throat is a little worse, but the meds will take care of it soon. So happy, it didn't cause me to go off plan with working out. I hope you and hubby get the jobs. Happy to hear you had a great day. :)
Dogdays, thanks, I also forgot to mention I had upper respiratory infection, just the start of it, so it isn't that bad. Luckily, I had the dr appointment already made for the physical, so I figured what the heck, check that out too. I got lucky! Last time, I got both, I didn't go in, just doctored myself up, but after 2 weeks, it got bad, then when I went to the dr, I took the antibiotics, but I still had it for 8 weeks afterwards. So you know I am happy! Not having to deal with all of that. LOL Yes, my doctor was shocked to see our progress, and very happy. The only health test we wouldn't pass is bmi, which would give us $800, but he said we are in great health, and he would sign that portion. The clause was if your healthcare provider signs the bmi section, stating you are healthy, they would wave the actual numbers. So that would put us at $1,100. I won't know forsure until we get the paperwork back. He said he would sign it. I hope he does! That is money towards our baby fund (artificial insemination or IVF). Awesome workout, and job!! Yes, changing things up is great. You need to shock your body, or it will get use to routine. That goes with food (calories), and workouts.
As for me, I am doing ok. Taking my medicine, drinking lots of fluids. Today was strength day, worked my chest and back. My daughter is working for me today. Nice to have one more day of rest. ;) The scale did go down a little today. I am up .6 lbs from my low, making me 194.6 I know it will go down. I have been on plan with my food/exercise. Also my body hurts every where, I know I am retaining water, to repair my muscles. I can't wait to see the 180's! :) I hope everyone is doing well. Have a good day!

Dogdays - Hubby got the job! He just has to wait for his background check and such to go through. He will be working overnight shift, and it's a temp job, but was told it could work into a permanent position! I am so happy for him! As for me, asked the hiring manager again if there was a decision made, she said tomorrow is the day of decisions. Oy! Told her if she made it today, since it's my birthday, I would let her off the hook of finding another way of giving me a present, :lol: It didn't work

Transforming - This is actually more sleep than I used to get before the doctor put me on Ritalin. I was always under the impression it was normal to sleep 3 hrs/night and the rest of the people were lazy, :lol: Don't hold it against me, I didn't "know" normal... my father and I both had the same sleep patterns. It's gotten better since I treat my ADHD now, and I also use Melatonin to help me fall asleep. So honestly, I do pretty good with sleep in comparison :) Although been told before, sleep helps with weight loss and that is an obstacle for me.
Hope that throat hurries up and heals itself with the medicine! Can't wait to hear that it's confirmed and your doctor signed off on the BMI !!!! You sooooo know he will! :)

Worked in getting a good walk in yesterday while at work. I had a training/meeting in another building and didn't take the car :) I walked it and it felt great. I know I have been slammed busy lately, so getting more creative for the calorie burns for now. I hope you all have a super day!!!!!

Good morning ladies! I have an exciting milestone to post about. I've entered a new decade...159.4 on the scale this morning. I'll probably bounce back up to 160, but for now I'm savoring it! I haven't had time to anticipate the 150s, so it came as a very pleasant surprise this morning. Makes sense though...my size 12 pants are starting to look oversized and my size medium tops are getting roomier (I bought them a bit snug so they'd last a while). And...drum roll...my breasts are FINALLY shrinking a little and fit perfectly into my DDD cups. I've always been a G/H jammed into a DDD and the ladies have not shrunk until now. I was starting to look like Dolly Patton, LOL! My band size has decreased from a 38 to a 34, but no change in cups until recently. YAY!

AFM, Finished W5D3 today. That's 20 minutes running at once. I am completely shocked and amazed that I did the whole thing. Now mind you my average speed was only 3.5mph but hey I still did it. I'm also thinking that I need to maybe amp up my cardio just a bit. Other than the c25k, 3 times per week and maybe 3 or so trips to the gym I just feel I need to be doing a bit more. I think on my non-run mornings I will start walking outside as well. I've got to try to do something to bust thru this plateau.

It was another day I was blessed with :) I am betting amping up wouldn't hurt anything, plateaus are usually broken with throwing your body off and mixing things up a bit. I have no doubt you will figure out what helps your body best to bust through ;)

geauxgirl - LOL, I thought my girls would NEVER shrink either. It took nearly 60 pounds of weight loss before they gave anything up. So yeah, definitely one of the last things to budge for me. Heck, even the thunder thighs receded before the girls did, LOL!
Transforming - glad you're feeling better. Hope you're 100% very soon!! The 180s are around the corner for you. I'm so envious of your 29.4 BMI! Way to go!!! I'm 30.9 but started at 42.4, so while I've made significant progress (Morbidly Obsese to Overweight - for my large frame), I can't wait until I'm in the healthy range for my frame size.
Speaking of frame size - has anyone found a good BMI chart for large frames? I definitely have a large frame, no doubt about that, but every "BMI for large frame" info I've found just says to "add 10% to the chart". I guess I don't understand what they mean. Like take the range for my height (underweight/healthy/overweight/obese) and add 10% - that would be my real range? Now that I typed it out, it makes more sense, LOL!

Dogdays, thank you so much. :) You are doing amazing! What saves me is my height. I am 5'8.5" I do not know of a bmi chart for large frames, to be honest, I do not like to go by them, because everyones body is different, some people have more muscle mass than others, different body frames, so it is hard to fully determine. My scale, shows body fat percentage/water weight, I haven't used that part in a long time (which is when I bought it 2 years ago), so now I am curious, when I weigh in tomorrow, I will do it (I usually just hit the center button for weight, I have a button special for me, with my height, that I use for body fat/water). Wish I would have used it when I started in July! LOL
As for me, I am doing good. Off work today. Forgot to weigh in this morning! I like to do it before my workout. Today was weight day, arms, shoulders and abs. I am sore! LOL What is everyones plans for the weekend? Tonight hubby and I are going to my friends house, she needs help with her computer. She called me last night, asking me what we want for dinner? I told her we would eat beforehand and bring a snack. She said, "its the least I can do, since your not charging me", I told her that is what friends do, she said "well what about a margherita pizza, I am sure that is healthy for you" omg....LOL She is killing me. LOL So after the 10th time of telling her no thank you, it finally sunk in. haha Saturday, we have to take our car in for an oil change, then a trip to Victoria's Secret. I can't wait! I need new bra's/undies! I received a few coupons in the mail, 1 free panty (valued at $12.50), $10 off 1 bra (reg price of $25 or more), and a free tote filled with goodies, when you spend $69. I decided to go on ebay, to look for more coupons, and bought 5 of each for $16 total. Giving me (6) free panty coups, and (6) $10 off 1 bra. The coupon is limited to 1 set (you can use all 3 in 1 transaction, 1 free panty, $10 off 1 bra, free tote) per person per day. So, hubby (both of us making a purchase) and I will be going 3 times. I love deals! I also love VS! :) Sunday, we will be cooking/meal preping. So happy, I have Mondays off! Just found out, the week of Thanksgiving, I only work Tues! dogdays - Sorry, no charts for BMI here. Most of the ones I find are ancient and based on old school. It's crazy how a lot of things are not accounted for on BMI.
I didn't get the job - no surprise. Anyway, hoping to get in some badly needed exercising in tonight.. help burn out some of my frustration. No big plans for the weekend though... although we usually play things by ear unless we have appointments ear-marked..and this weekend is clear of those :)

Good morning, everyone. Another very hectic week under the belt. Have been up since early trying to get through my huge pile of admin. Have only been pretending to cope this last week and am so far behind! Never mind, only 4 more weeks and then I'm closing my practice for a month, so that will be wonderful.
With all the work, something has to give, and it's been gym. I'm getting pretty anxious about it, but unfortunately there are only so many hours in a day and something has to give. I'm just focusing on staying on plan, and my pattern of weight loss hasn't changed, so I'm just hoping it'll hold fast.
It'smyturn: sorry I missed your birthday! Hope you had a fabulous day. And sorry about the job, but very glad about hubby's.
Transforming: To be healthy is fantastic! I must say I am holding out for the official BMI norm since then I'm going to tell everyone that I'm average and nobody may call me fat ever again! You're lucky with your height - I think the weight just shows so much more when you're shorter.
GG and dogsdays: I'm so frustrated at the sizing thing. I've lost 20 pounds and am still not in a size 12. Sigh.

AFM - TOM is kicking my butt today. If I wasn't off for the weekend, I'd have definitely called in sick today. Cramps, bloating and just general blah feeling so I think I will take it easy today. Sending hubby to the store for our groceries in a bit and maybe later I'll feel like starting laundry or something. If not it can wait until tomorrow. But.. I did have a surprise when I checked the scale this morning. A mini-whoosh! Scale said 217.4 which was a complete shock since I swear I feel at least 300 pounds right now.
Not much going on here for the rest of the weekend either. But yesterday was pretty productive. Got my turkeys and a few thanksgiving groceries purchased. Will finish that up later in the week before the crowds. Also took my dad to eat lunch for Veteran's day yesterday and visited with mom and dad. And started finalizing some plans for our Disney/Universal trip in May. We will call and book everything Sunday. And finally, DD was stage managing a play with her drama club last night and we went to that.

omg, my old habits of binging have come back, and I CAN'T DO THIS anymore. I can't win. I spend hours crying, and then I go right back to do doing it again. I don't know how to stop. I'm never going to do this.
Please pray for help to overcome this addictive behavior. I binge...and normally I would purge, but I just can't do it. So I'm gaining like crazy. I'm so sad and discouraged, I feel like quitting all together.

Hi all, I'm back... Life got hectic and then spun outta control weight-wise.
I started June 13th at 240 with a mini-goal to get to 199 by Sept 13th.
I actually DID reach my goal.
Then it all unraveled and I fell off the train bigtime.
As of this morning I was 230. Hating myself.
I just did 15 minutes with the resistance bands and I need to do the Biggest Loser video thing later... I am just very overwhelmed and don't have the stamina I did when I left off..
I think I have a problem getting "too obsessed" for a while, and then crashing and burning. Not sure how, but I have to be less-obsessed WHILE still working hard. This won't be easy, but I think it's the only way to get it done. So I gotta.

Jen: You have GOT to stop being so unkind to yourself. I don't know many people who get through all the stuff you get through and give themselves zero credit. Why??? I'm not a binge eater, so I don't know how to help there, but I find that I often hate myself for what I've eaten, and when I'm actually realistic about it, it really wasn't the biggest train smash.
M3: Well done on being back! So what if you had a backslide? You're still 10 pounds lighter than you were last time you started and that's a real achievement!
GG: so sorry you're feeling bad. My TOM is also on the way, and I'm feeling tired and tearful, but luckily not sick yet. Look after yourself - glad your hubby gets in and helps with the chores.
I've been out 3 nights in a row now which really doesn't help with my plan! But i really work hard at the choices I make and manage to stay well below my calorie limit. So as of this morning, I've lost over 20 pounds! Yay! It's a good milestone. It sounds so much better than telling people I've lost 9 kilograms. 20 pounds sounds like an achievement!

LOL I got lucky with VS, hubby took me 2 weekends ago (we were at the mall already), and asked me what I wanted, I didn't want to pay those prices, so I told him wait until I get down to size 12 comfy. A few days later those coupons came in.....OMG was I happy I didn't buy anything! I would have been sick. LOL So of course, my mind was going, and I hurried to check on ebay, because I needed more than 1 set. ;) You are only able to use 1 set of coupons per person per day, so hubby and I bought a bra and panty set. It have a black set, and pink set, both with boy shorts. I LOVE boy shorts. :) Awesome thing is, they are giving you Secret Cards right now, to use on Dec 1 - Dec 21st. Each card has at least $10 on it (the value can be $10 - $500), you won't know the value until you make your purchase. Which you can just purchase something for $10 and with the card it will be free. I am looking to use it on more bra's, or panties (they usually have a sale on some 5 for $25). I have 2 Secret Cards so far. Looking to make 2 more trips to VS soon. Sorry to hear that about the job. Momwannabe, Sorry to hear everything is so stressful. I agree, you can't do everything, something has to be put on hold. You can focus on your exercise routine while you are off. It is great, you are still on plan with your food, to me that is most important. Both of us will be off around the same time, I will be off work for 5 weeks, Dec 1st - Jan 5. Awesome job on your 20 lb loss! :)

Jen, ((hugs)) I am so sorry, you are going through this. I know how hard it is. Don't give up! Everything takes time. Jen, you need to think about yourself first. What do you really want? Why do you want it? Do you want to be fit and healthy? Please remember being fit and healthy is a lifetime commitment. I am here to help you in any way I can. Just tell me you want my help. I know your life will change in a HUGE way when you accomplish small/big goals. When I started my journey in July, I wanted to lose 100 lbs. I never thought I would really see that day, but I was determined, focused and knew I deserved it. So far I have lost 50 lbs. My life is so different now. I am never going back. We need to keep journals, especially in the beginning, to write down our feelings, exercise, food and water intake. It helps in a huge way (you can go back and read it, it will remind you of the person you don't want to become again). Also planning is key! Making time is Key! When we have functions/parties etc, we work our healthy lifestyle into it. Every morning when you wake up, I want you to repeat these words "I love myself, I deserve to be happy, I will accomplish my goals, I can do it". Stay positive, and everything will fall into place. People tend to sabotage themselves, with negative thinking, or being afraid of change. You need to figure out what you want, and go after it!
M3rma1d, Welcome back! Don't hate yourself, just move forward. Be proud that you realized you were out of control, and needed to get back to your healthier lifestyle. :) First off you need to quit comparing your fitness levels from now, and where you left off before. That is in the past. Forgive yourself, everyone makes mistakes. Refocus, and do what you are able to do now. Do your best, forget everything else. I know how being overwhelmed can dictate your day/life. Just remember, you can't do everything at once, it takes time. Make a list of goals, whether it is the way you eat, exercise or weight loss, and accomplish them one by one. You had a set-back. Don't let that ruin your progress. You are doing GREAT! Keep pushing forward. :)

Friday, while we were at my friends house, my sister called, she had my Partylite order (she hosted an online party), so we made plans to pick it up. She hasn't seen me since last Christmas, when I was 60 lbs heavier. When she opened the door, her comment was "holy sh*t sister, your @ss is gettin' tiny", omg the look on her face and that comment was hysterical! m3rma1d - You already heard this from me on another forum - but... (never knew that to shut me up before, :lol: ) Please know that it's not the slipping part you should focus on.. it's the fact you are still ahead of where you started last time! You are still in the "progress" window and you are trying to get it back. This does mean starting from a fresh view though, you won't be able to mimick what you WERE doing... that was then.. you should do what works NOW :) You are amazing and with your focus, you will do wonderfully :)

Love it... way more bang for the buck that way - and yes, I use my DH as another "transaction" when needed too, :lol: I am so glad to hear you are feeling better! As for me - been dealing with not getting the job. It's been 1 yr, and 1 month I have been applying for everything within the company.. nothing... and this one was with the supervisors who KNOW what I can/do do... so trying to come to grips with that. In a strange way, it has helped. Not sure how familiar you all are with ADHD, but it is not uncommon for us to lash out irrationally or aggressively... so instead I am taking that, putting it into workouts and determination under my own lines of desire - keeping me on plan instead of reacting in a way that comes natural and finding comfort in sweets/sugar carbs. I am actually pretty impressed with myself for doing that :) It means that not only have I got a grip on the journey I am on that brings me here, but also on the control of the ADHD as well - not just being aware of it, but handling it all in a positive way. I have secluded myself a bit in my real life to just be around my lil family right now, but also don't view that as a bad thing either. Then as positive reinforcement.. got on the scale to find a new low... finally broke through the plateauing figures... the same 2 Lbs I have been losing/gaining for the last 2 1/2 wks... gone :) 191.8!!!! Yuppers...perspective in situations can be a good thing - and the working out instead of lashing out, is paying off :)

I feel like there is noone to help me, and I keep giving and giving and I feel like that shirt donald duck was wearing and he got a thread caught...and it just keeps unravelling until there is NO MORE SHIRT.

Jen - I am so sorry you're feeling so stressed and down. We are here for you...when you feel like no one else will listen or relate...we can and do. I like Transforming's advice - remind yourself that you are worth it every single day. Coming to terms with what you can and cannot do is important - accept the things you cannot change and rise above it best you can.
mermaid - WELCOME BACK!!!!! We've been missing you so much!!!! I'm sorry you're feeling down about yourself, but we love you just the way you are...30 pounds more or 100 pounds less. :hug: Don't dwell on what's done...keep your chin up, regain your focus and start moving forward. Do it for you because you want it and deserve it. I hear you on the "too obsessed" part. I tend to get that way too - all or none. I combat it by keeping myself involved in many different things (work, kids, friends, volunteering, hobbies) so I don't spend too much time obsessing over the weight loss journey.
momwannabe - CONGRATS on your 20 pound milestone! FABULOUS!!!!!!
Transforming - Well done on your VS shopping spree! I really need new panties too...the one thing I haven't replaced in my wardrobe yet, and boy do I need to, LOL! Update on me - busy weekend with the family. My week of whoosh has come to an end. Wish it could last forever, but it was a 5 pound whoosh, so I'm NOT complaining, LOL! Staying stable for now. Today was my day off plan - little bit of cardio, but not as much as usual, and a bigger calorie/carb day than usual. Although I'm finding it harder and harder to push myself off plan to calorie/carb cycle. Never thought I'd see the day, LOL! I'm fighting off something; feeling a bit congested, bloated, tired and chilly (no fever though). I'm hoping it passes without settling in full blown. *knock on wood* I don't tend to get sick very often, so I'm not a very good patient. Like the time I had bronchitis and convinced myself it was "just a virus", so didn't go to the doctor...until I was rushed to the ER for pneumonia. Yeah. I'm an idiot sometimes. My Mom is a trauma nurse and my husband is in sleep medicine...I really should know better. The two of them yell at me all the time. :p

Dogdays, Yes, it felt great! I loved hearing it. ;) I hope you are feel better soon. No, not an idiot, it is normal not to run to the dr every time you are sick. I am the same way. I got lucky this last time, or it would have gotten really bad.
As for me, I am doing good. Enjoyed my last day off. ;) Ok, girls if you want a deal, I have one. I just bought 30 Kohls coupons on Ebay, $10 off $10 or more purchase. Limit 1 coupon per person, so bring someone with you (I plan on bringing my son, daughter and husband), or visit multiple stores. The coupons are sent via email (make sure that is how the seller is doing it), each of them have a special code and can be used only one time. Do not buy the auction ending soonest, check through them. They expire Saturday Nov 19. My first auction was 10 for $17, the second one I found was 20 for $23. Much better deal! Think Christmas! You know what I will be doing the next 5 days. LOL :)

Girls, I didn't know where to turn, or who to talk to. My husband is in shock. I was just asked something HUGE....my husbands distant cousin (he hasn't seen her since they were children), just messaged me (she came back into contact with the family this past Summer, I haven't met her or the kids), she has been battling cancer (she just told me), has 3 children, son 12 years old, daughter 7 1/2, and another daughter 6 1/2 years old. She asked if we would take the kids, if something happened to her. I told her, I would talk to Joel, and we need to get together, meet her and the kids. See if they like us. This is a huge life changing commitment. My husband isn't sure what he wants to do. I am ready to say yes, because I feel bad for her and the children, but know we really need to think this through. I am just going through all different kinds of emotions.....just thinking of her dealing with cancer breaks my heart, especially going through it with my mom, she didn't win the battle. :( I just needed to talk about it. It is so hard to stop myself from crying, I do not want my husband seeing me upset/sad. Just didn't expect this to happen. The father doesn't have parental rights, they were taken away years ago, and her close family are not good to her, so she doesn't want them to have them. I don't blame her. So she doesn't have anyone else. The rest of the family, my husbands brothers and sister, are not in any situation to care for more children, they are having a hard time with what they have now. Please give me your thoughts. Am I crazy for taking this on? I am so close to telling her yes, so she can find peace, and not worry, but I know this is going to change our lives. Especially wanting to have a baby. The children will need lots of love/support/time. My brain is all over the place.

Transforming - wowsers. Definitely a lot for you to process in one night. A huge decision for sure and I'm sorry this stress has unexpectedly landed in your lap. Is there any chance you can spend some more time getting to know the cousin and her children - perhaps your decision will come more easily (negative or positive).
No, I don't think you're crazy for considering it...family is family, but you need to have all your ducks in a row in order to be successful with it since there's a much higher probability of the scenario coming to fruition. Can you afford it (financially, physically and psychologically)? Is your house large enough? Can you continue on with your own hopes/dreams/goals (if not, will you be resentful)? Is your DH 100% in agreement? How do your DS & DD feel about it? Do you have the resources to support the children's needs should adjustment issues come about (intense therapy)? Just a few things to think about.
Good luck thinking it through and keep us posted. Will be thinking of you. :hug:

Transforming - Let me tell you from a perspective on the other end. I was battling cancer and though we all remained optimistic, my doctor did ask that I make arrangements for the children to be smart. I was pregnant for my 3rd and was not "with" anyone... my son would have went to my parents (as he required someone financially stable due to his expensive medical issues, my oldest daughter to her father (this was before we knew what we do now) and the youngest I was lost. My parents told me they could not take on more than one child, and I understood, but had no one else I was close with for family to ask... so it was my best friend. We had differing religious beliefs, different ways, but also so similar in many ways. I asked if she would and she took a week to think about it - keep in mind, no way to know how well they would mesh as my daughter had not been born yet (which is where the danger was... I refused to abort to treat me... it was waiting until after delivery). She agreed and I have to tell you: that alone gave me so much more strength as it released such a burden. I no longer worried for them, though was a bit upset they would be separated, it was still for them. I say... talk it over, make sure it is right for you... you have to be willing for a lifelong commitment and truly be ok with it. If you are, she will sense it and her burden will be lifted, but if not, tell her as soon as possible, as that is the biggest thing weighing on her. You would think it was the illness, but from being in her shoes... it's not, it's those kids. :hug: Any consolation, I think you would be wonderful at parenting... and you have a bunch of people here with experience if you run into the unexpected - and support system there in real time too. Take a breath and decide on what is best, not just on emotion (as hard as that is to separate, it's necessary). I am so sorry you all are faced with this situation, my prayers and thoughts are with you all, and her and her little family too

Thanks everyone, I had a mini breakdown two days ago, but I seem to be recovering and am seeing the brighter side of things.
As far as the eating being out of control. I told my good friend that I was out of control, and I really needed to shape up with it, and JUST telling somebody close to me, so it is NOT A SECRET. really helped. I've been monitoring my calories. I think I found my maintenance range, now if I can just drop below it and stay there.
Transforming, that is a huge decision. With things like that, pray until you have peace with the answer. Personally, I would say "Yes, I will take care of the kids". Then, I would leave it in God's hands if it ever came to that. I would pray "God, I don't know what your will is in this situation, but I ask you to guide me.and I ask you to open all doors that need to be opened and shut all doors that need to be shut, and give me peace."
myturn, wow, what an amazing story. I never cease to be amazed by you.
Dogdays you are blasting down the weight loss, why do you need to go to the doctor??

so far, 2700-2800 cs/day. Seems to be my maintenance range, so I will try to drop down to 2300 again, and see how it goes. The important thing here is to get my eating under control...then I can move on. I really wish I wasn't a binge eater. This would be soooo much easier.

Dogdays, We definitely thought about all of that. DH is more worried about me, and what I think/feel. He wants me happy. We do have enough space, 2 extra bedrooms (one is my office, the other craftroom) we have a 5 bedroom house (2,825 sq ft). We can afford to take care of them, we would just have to give up some things (trips, new suv etc). I know the children will need lots of care, just hope that doesn't cause me to lose focus on my health and well being. Thanks for asking all of those IMPORTANT questions, not everyone thinks about it. ;)
Itsmyturn, first off, LOVE your new pic. You look so dang cute! Second, I am so sorry to hear you went through all of that. Happy you won the battle! You are one STRONG momma! Thanks for your insight. I know that will bring her some peace, knowing the kids will be taken care of. Sad that she is going through this, and wondering who will provide/love/take care of her children. I couldn't imagine, that feeling. Breaks my heart. My first instinct was YES, how can I live with myself, not knowing what can/will happen to those kids, if we don't. It will be on my mind forever. I didn't tell dh, because I didn't know how he felt. He wasn't sure, because he doesn't know the kids, and hasn't seen his cousin in over 25 years. Kind of like a stanger to him. I understand his feelings on it. It is a very hard decision to make. Thank you for your help, I really appreciate it. :)

Dh and I were up late discussing everything. We are able to care for them finanically, emotionally, and physically. Providing a loving and caring home/family. One of our main concerns is, not knowing the children, we never met them, or have a bond/relationship with them. I talked to his cousin, invited all of them out this weekend, she accepted our invitation. I also told DH, we need to keep our relationship moving forward, maybe take them out or keep them overnight at least once a month. Get to know them, and vice versa. I pray that everything is ok with his cousin, but should something happen, I want their transition into our house easy on them. I want them comfortable with/around us. I know they will be going through alot, the last thing they need is a family/home they do not know. I do not know anything on her medical condition, what type of cancer/stage, I figured we would talk about that this weekend, when the kids are occupied with my two children. Oh I forgot to answer that question Dogdays, my daught is fine with it, she just wants to make sure she gets to keep her room....little brat. LOL I haven't talked to my son yet, he was at his friends house. Everyone here is pretty laid back/easy going, they know when we decide on something, we look out for everyones best interest. I am so lucky! Great kids and husband! :) I am sure after reading this post, you have an idea of what my decision is. I am leaning towards yes, just need to bond with the kids, most importantly, I want them happy, and to like/love us. ;) I always envisioned having a large family. When I read stories of families adopting, multiple children from one family because they lost a parent/s. To keep the children together, it touched my heart, seeing people be so selfless. I know everything happens for a reason. I will keep all of you updated. Once again, thank you thank you thank you so much. :hug:

The upcoming doctor's appointment I was referring to was my yearly physical with my primary care doctor. Currently only my ob/gyn is aware of my weight loss progress (because he monitors me for my Metformin dosage as I lose weight). I'm looking forward to stepping on my primary's scale in February. I'm feeling better with my cold/stomach thing - came and went so I'm relieved. I don't really AVOID the doctor...but I tend to be so busy I take the "ehh, it will pass" approach. Obviously with the bronchitis turned pneumonia, that was a bad call on my part, LOL!

AFM, this week has been a bust on exercise front. Haven't really felt like it. I could only do half of my run yesterday morning. So I've been just taking it easy the last couple of days. I do want to try to get back to the gym tonight though. Scale has been firmly stuck on 217. I was really hoping to be under 215 by Thanksgiving but I still have a few days so I need to be more diligent with exercise.
What's everyone's exercise plan for Thanksgiving?
My plan is for us to get to my mom and dad's early (between 6 or 6:30), that way Chris can help dad prep and start frying the turkeys. I'm hoping while they are doing that that I can get my Thursday c25k run in (should be a 25 min one next week... :dizzy:) Then back to my mom's to shower then start baking! Maybe after the triptophan (sp?) nap I may try to walk around the block or something.
