Good morning Ladies:)
Woke up early, than I usually do. The sun is shinning but the temps are cold 57,after out heat wave & humidity.
Went to the movies yesterday, my friends next door neighbor from NY came with us. Didn't get to speak to her that much as she didn't want to go to supper with us. Found out from Mary later she not really friendly, and doesn't get along with the other neighbors.
JOJO-Thanks for the pages and :goodvibes: coming your way for your Losing more this week.
Have a great day

What was the movie Maryann?
Ems What happened to the 'barbacue summer' we were promised? I took a hot water bottle to bed the last few nights. BTW Ems. Can you fill in this old fogie about 'Made in Chelsea?' I saw the railer last night, and assumed it was a comedy about hooray Henries but from what I can gather, it is a reality show:dizzy: Why should England tremble eh? What a total wste of space they are.
Bad news about the colliers wasn't it? When I was nursing in Cardiff, we often got transfers from other hospitals involving pit accidents but since Maggy Thatcher closed most of the mines there were fewer accidents. My grand dad was a miner and had the miners tattoo, have you seen one? when they cut themselves underground, the coal dust would get in the cut and looked just like a tattoo.
Going to see my mum this morning.
09-20-2011, 01:19 PM
lol that made in chelsea is like the only way is essex a load of rubbish haha. I know the miners tragedy was terrible the poor men who died and there familiesmy heart goes out to them :(
I passed my resit exam girls woohoo year 3 here i comexxx

Good Afternoon Ladies:)
Went out with my walking group this morning. I was able to walk with the group that cut it short because or rain. I walked with my hip brace and did wonders for me while walking.
When I got back to the center where we started I found my car acting up on me. The stirring wheel wasn't moving. It seemed like it was locked in the stirring column. I made it home and opened the hood and had my power stirring fluid bottle in my hand and notice that the liquid was fine it was up to the max on the bottle.Just had all the liquids check in July with my inspection. Do you or your DH's now why my stirring wheel was locked??? Read my manual and I can seem to find the answer. If it acts like that again tomorrow I will call the AAA to see what wrong with it.
EMS-I like the cooler weather more that the heat in the summer. To me you can always layer your clothes but in the summer you can't go nude.
NANCY-My gas stove inserts right into the fireplace opening and the way he put it in it looks very attractive. Will try to take a photo of it.
JOJO-I saw the movie "I Don't Know How She Does It" It was a little exaggerated but it was funny to in spots.
Have to go I getting hungry, have a great day
09-20-2011, 04:13 PM
Hi there. I'm back online at home. Whew! It's been a rough 3.5 days without.
Ems, :woohoo: on passing your exams and getting on to your next year.
Nancy and Rhonda, I am glad you girls are getting away for a few days. Enjoy yourselves.
Vickie and Maryann,
I went to OA last night. The meeting was very uplifting. I am glad I went.
Have a great day, everyone. I'm going to do some surfing/catching up. Seems like I've been offline a year.
09-20-2011, 06:47 PM
Thanks sandra :D whats a oa meeting? xxx
09-21-2011, 03:46 AM
EMS :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::hat::hat: Congratulations! I'm so pleased for you. In the UK OA stands for overeaters anonymous. It came here from the USA so I'm thinking thats what it stands for.
Maryann I've not seen that movie yet, will keep an eye open for it.
The world is geting smaller isn't it? And a good job too. Twenty years ago, you could only get sweet potatoes in specialist shops and now they are on the vegetable display in the supermarket. As little as 10 years ago, I hadn't heard of butternut squash and had to email a Canadian friend about what they looked like. He sent me a picture:fr: but now they are as common as every other veg. I'm having some squash this evening. I love it, but hubby doesn't
09-21-2011, 10:09 AM
Good Morning Chicks! We signed the contract for the bathroom remodel yesterday. Very expensive but we think this company is going to do a great job. It will start in about 5 or 6 weeks and should be done by Thanksgiving.
My stomach is hurting so I'm not eating much.
Glad you're back online Sandra. I always miss reading your posts even when I have no time to post.
JoJo, I love squash. I'd come eat it with you!
Rhonda, I hope you're having fun.
09-21-2011, 11:39 AM
Ems, OA is Overeaters' Anonymous. We work on the emotion and spiritual aspect of losing weight along with the physical. oa dot org
JoJo, you're right about the world's being smaller. I was just thinking the other day about all the different fruit/veggies we have available now year round.
Vickie, did you get your landscaping started?
I am in a high school AG class right now. (Agriculture) The students in here now are seniors. I've known them over 2 years now. Great kids--young adults.
Saw Biggest Loser last night. It's going to be a great season. So inspiring!
09-21-2011, 11:45 AM

Good Morning Ladies:)
Talked to my next door neighbor and they told me to go to Battles Auto Repairs as they been the the town for 30 years, but when I called them up they said that my car wouldn't be an over nighter. So I called my Toyota dealer, but before that I took the car out and drove it around the complex and not happened. The stirring was fine, but I was concerned it would happen again so I drove the car with my hazard lights on to the Dealer. They told me it might be in the stirring column, and the car would be ready some this this afternoon. They gave me a courtesy ride home and and will have someone pick me up when the car is ready.
SANDRA-Thanks for the  Going crazy without my car I was going to pay my cable pill and return the up stairs TV box. Why pay 24 dollar when I don't use the upstairs TV.
JOJO-Keep an eye out for it it was a funny movie the way she struggled to keep the family and that job balanced.
VICKIE-Sorry about your tummy ache I had that 3-4 weeks ago and I'm still not eating much.
EMS- I Love the winter squashes also, I wonder why they put it in the bread category instead of the veggie.
Have to go have a great day
09-21-2011, 06:09 PM
Lanscape guy comes tomorrow mid morning to give us the estimate. All money is flowing OUT at the moment. Maybe I should find a job.
09-21-2011, 07:23 PM
Vickie, you have a lot going on right now. I still don't think you need a job. I love your and Jim's life. Retirement is wonderful, isn't it?
Ems, did you check at oa dot org to see if there's a meeting near you? If not and you're interested, they have online meetings as well as telephone meetings available.
Maryann, I'm glad you're getting your car repaired. Guess you have it back home by now. You did the right thing taking it in before you got stranded somewhere.

If God gave me a brain, he robbed a rabbit
Yesterday himself was painting a wall which has loads of doors in it, its a tiny area you couldn't swing a kitten in between the kitchen and downstairs bathroom. Now you know how I worry about him doing too much and having another coronary... well. When he took the dog for a walk, I shinned up the ladder, as best I could and finished off the painting. Now you all know my knees! They are the reason I am trying to drop weight. Let's be honest here, you could use my knees as a 'You too could have knees like this if you aren't careful' poster:D It is 2am and my knees are up like balloons and very painful. I've had my tablets and a nice cup of tea and when the tablets work I shall go back to bed.
I've had the lecture from Mark and I know that I will have to rest tomorrow, but at least the wall is finished. If only I had had the sense to put the extender on the roller I wouldn't be so bad. It's the ladder that has been my Waterloo.
09-21-2011, 10:35 PM
JoJo  Take care of those knees. We don't want to see you on a poster. Actually, you sound a lot like me. I can see myself putting myself in that sort of situation. Well, not with painting--but with something else that could get me hurt. Be careful, friend.
09-22-2011, 09:12 AM
you need to take it easy jojo hope your better soon :d
Sandra i did have a look thanks and they do a meeting not far from me but im not sure weather to go or not at the moment im trying to deal with other things that are more important like my sanity lol iv been refered to mental health clinc today. xxx
09-22-2011, 10:52 AM
hey. Sounds like everyone is busy. I lost the 2 lbs I gained while in Vegas. I have my great granddaughter until Sunday. She is a non-stop talker, lol. She is 4 and such a cutie.
I tried to come here yesterday, but the flash thing was happening, and it froze up my computer.
Hope everyone has a great week.
09-22-2011, 11:17 AM
Good Morning Ladies:)
Car Saga is completed as the Toyota dealer couldn't find anything wrong with the stirring wheel.Maybe it was Leo fooling around or a fluke, but the dealer didn't charge me. It working fine now. Glad that I took it over there to get peace of mind.
Today I have to go to our TV provider and take one of the boxes back to them as I'm not paying for the upstairs TV if I'm not going to use it. After that I'm going to Lunch with Rita.
SANDRA-Thanks, Like I posted above There was nothing wrong with the car,but it least it gave me peace of mind.
JOJO-Sorry about your knee, take care and do the RICE Method[R/rest=I/ice==C/compressed==E/elevate.
PAM-Congrats on your 2 lb loss. You doing great, losing what you gained in Las Vegas
Have to go,have to get dress do some chores before I go out to lunch
09-22-2011, 03:22 PM
I made us a healthy bfast then we had a healthy lunch. Doesn't get much better than that. I may do some shooting this afternoon. Maybe not. I may just curl up and watch a movie. I'm subbing 8th Grade English tomorrow. Life is good.
09-23-2011, 03:56 AM
If it wasn't for bad luck, we wouldn't have any luck at all. Found a lump on our labrador last night and it was too late to ring the vet so we are taking her to the walk in at our vet's this morning.
The sensible side of me, the old nurse side, thinks: 'Well, it is probably just a cyst and even if it is a tumour it has a good chance of being benign'
The emotional side of me, isn't so optimistic
09-23-2011, 07:39 AM
Good Morning Chicks! Up before the crack of dawn here. Can't sleep. Too much rolling around in my brain. And, my little brain talks to me ALL the time. If I let it start talking when I get up in the middle of the night for a bathroom break then I wake up completely and can't go back to sleep. Sigh.
The landscaping estimate went ok though it was nearly double what we had budgeted. Isn't that always the way? That's what's on my mind now...how to pay for it AND the bathroom. That will be this morning's project after the window washers leave.
JoJo, I hope your knees feel better today. I'm guessing that you are so upset about your pup that you aren't even thinking about yourself. What is her name so I can think good thoughts for both of you. I will pray it is just one of those squishy things that pop up.....the kind the Vet says leave it alone!
Sandra, you sound happy and like all is going well. That makes me happy for you.
Pam, Congratulations on getting the 2 pounds off. Nicely done! I'm glad you're enjoying your granddaughter. 4 is such a great age!
Mary Ann, I'm glad that your car is back in working order. That would have been scary for me too. Thanks for the reminder to JoJo on RICE. My heel spurs are hurting again and I've been doing the opposite. A little RICE would probably help them too.
I've got to get everything done before the 5th for the bathroom because it needs to be done and because I'm having a procedure done on my toe that will probably slow me down for a least a couple of days to a week. Gotta have the ingrown toenail removed from tip to base and the root killed so it won't grow back. Not sure what the name of the procedure is. I've had to go to the Podiatrist every 8 weeks for about the last 12 years but her in office procedure isn't helping much. Not looking forward to that although she says it's no big deal and that she does them all the time. I'm just a scaredy cat!
So after the windows and the budget I hope for a nap.
And the eating.....I'm trying. That's all I can say.
09-23-2011, 11:15 AM
Good Morning Ladies:)
Had a great time at the restaurant with Rita as they let us sit from 1 to 4:30 in the afternoon. We talked from Soup to Nuts trying to fix the worlds situation. We talked about the old neighbor in NY also,as she lived in the same town as I,but nearer the city than we were.
JOJO-Sorry about your lab having a lump, hope the vet will see your dog today and every thing will be ok,especially when you caught it on time.
VICKIE-Where ever I can be assistance,I will help the RICE method of taking care of any injured part of the body is the better to get relieve.
Have to go running late have a great day
09-23-2011, 03:05 PM
JoJo, I am praying your pup is all right. Let us know what you find out. I think Vickie's right and you've forgotten all about your knee. Take care of yourself.
Vickie, ouch! Let me know how your toe procedure goes. I battle ingrown toenails, too. Things always cost more than we predict. Our porches were the same.
I'm at lunch break at the junior high. Kids have been testing all day. This is easy. I'm on my food plan. Life is good.
09-23-2011, 04:05 PM
We were sitting on the mat outside the vet's as soon as it opened. They didn't exactly take us in with the milk, but it was close. Dolly has a lipoma, quite benign and often seen in labs. Boy were we relieved. She has had a lot of problems and several ops with ligament damage in her back legs so is well known at the vets and they love her because she is so sweet tempered. She's a very large lab, with a waggy tail and loves everyone. I think we will sleep well this evening as we didn't have much of a relaxed sleep last night.
Thanks to everyone for your concern it means a lot.
09-23-2011, 07:32 PM
I am now in Wilmington at my Speech convention. Parts were dull today and parts very interesting.. I am in my hotel & getting ready to go shop for a GPS because mine is not working ..
Plan to grab a bite to eat & get to bed early.
Tomorrow after I am done at 5 pm I will go back to where my friend is staying at the beach house to help her clean & go home Sunday am. It is a friends beach house so we want to leave it nice & clean.
Sorry I didn't read all the posts but I did see about your pup JoJo. Best wishes..I know how much those pets can mean to us.
09-23-2011, 11:58 PM
JoJo, I am so glad your pup is all right. Whew!
Nancy, have fun!
One of the joys of living in the country is coming home to a faint whiff of skunk. Enough is enough, though.
09-24-2011, 03:39 AM
Thanks girls. The reason we were making such a fuss is that she is the last tangible link with our daughter and not only that; she is a big soppy lump of love. Moving on... a pound off for me this week.
09-24-2011, 12:56 PM
Good Morning Ladies or what left of it:)
Got up late so it going to be a easy day, except for cleaning out my Christmas Ornaments, from the 3 storage boxes that I don't use anymore. My DD took what she wanted so the rest is going to find its way to the garbage bags. Than I can use the storage bins for other important stuff I want to keep and need.
Otherwise nothing going on over the weekend as my movie buddy is in California for the week.
Got on the sale today and I MAINTAINED,so here's to next week
NANCY-Enjoy your weekend. Nothing beat going away.
JOJO-That's a relieve about your lab. Congrats on your 1 lb loss.
Have to start my dinner have a great day
09-25-2011, 12:04 AM
 we're home from the cruise. We had a wonderful time, but are very tired, as you might imagine.
I won't get near a scale I promise you. But for 5 of the 7 days we were gone, I was in the ship's gym working out. That was good.
We saw Halifax, Saint John, Portland (Maine), Boston and NYC, including Ground Zero, which was quite emotional for many. Mostly, I felt queasy being where all that horror happened.
09-25-2011, 12:27 AM
I am home but I can't find my cat..He usually stays fine if we leave a few days, but he used to have the dog to hang out with. I should have boarded him.
I had a good conference but being out of town by myself is hard.
09-25-2011, 06:46 AM
Welcome home Tejas.
Any sign of the cat yet Nancy?
We won £93 on the lottery last night, so we were going to go away for the day this morning, but it is chucking it down with rain so we put it off until next week.
Instead we have tidied up, hoovered and polished right through the house and I can say with confidence, that NOBODY will call now we are as smart as a tack. As soon as the carpets need hoovering and the rooms look a bit untidy someone, we don't know very well will call out of the blue. Mark my words.
09-25-2011, 12:59 PM
Cat came home about 2 am !!
I am cleaning & organizing today. My paperwork seems to always be everywhere.. Does anyone have an attractive way to keep files ??
09-25-2011, 07:34 PM
Nancy, glad to hear the cat came home. And, I absolutely hear you about being out of town alone. That was hard for a long time.
Now, an attractive way to store files? Get yourself a very nice bin for recycling paper
09-25-2011, 09:40 PM
I have been organizing today and beginning to pull together things to give my step daughter when she is here in Nov. I realized, even though I am not ready to go through some things, that there are many items I am ready to give them.
Just found 2 cookbooks that were her moms..Things like that.
Moved my file cabinet to my bedroom and covered it with a throw..then tv is on it.. I like having it in there..
Got lots done today ..
Still gaining..For awhile I was just maintaining and not worrying about my eating but clearly that is not working right now. I was doing something a while ago that was really working and I can't remember what it was..Maybe 200 calorie minimeals ...I may look back in my posts to see if i can find what it was..
