Default 2yrs to train for a 525 mile bike ride

I hate exercising. I hate it! I hate it! I hate it!

But it is something that needs to be done, and I do feel that I am pretty athletic for my size. So any advice on how to move from hating exercise to at least tolerating it. I'll take anything.

Motivation I have. I have decided to ride in the California Coast Classic in memory of a family member who passed away. 2013 would have been her 18th year. Also, I turn 30 in 2013. I thought that it would be an amazing way of riding into a new phase of my life.

But where should I start in my training?

If you go to myparker.parkercc.edu/ics click on Campus Life --> Campus Groups --> Cycling Clubs --> Training --> Beginner Training

Here is a training schedule of sorts for a beginner biker.

Also, Ride the Rockies has a 15-week training plan for a 6-day 400+ mile ride. But that assumes you can ride 40 miles a week. I don't know of one that starts from 0.

Here is the link to that training plan.
