Goodness, can you believe that we are very close to going into February already? So you know what that means.....yep, another exercise challenge. Make your calculations and post the number of minutes that you are going pledge for the month of February. Remember that this month has only 28 days. (We don't want anyone to kill over from exhaustion!)

Reminder for Newbie's:
You are only competing with yourself and the challenge is to complete the minutes on or before February 28th. Please don’t be intimidated by some of the total minutes from some of our gals. (They are great and have been at this a little longer) You may post your minutes daily or weekly, it's up to you.

We try and stay with the format of listing our minutes from the previous post less what you have to subtract and then your ending balance. Example: (200 min – 35 = 165 then the next day start with 165 – 35 = 130) Makes it easier for me, if everyone uses the same format. On Mondays I will post an update of everyone's minutes through Sunday. All right, get out your pencils and tally up your minutes.

I am pledging 850 minutes – I'm uping my total by 160 minutes this month. WooHoo.

Hi All,

I'm fairly new to the forum but I'm going to go for it!

I'm pledging 720 minutes for February.

Hey guys...I'm new and this sounds fun! But...what exactly are minutes?
Miss Minerva

SEMO

MissMinerVA, you just calculate the number of minutes that you will exercise for the whole month of February and that will be your minutes pledged. Then you will deduct the number of minutes exercised from the previous total. You can check out January's challenge to get the idea. Glad you and LKB Angel have decided to join us.

You go, Semo!

I'll stick with 1200 again this month, since it is shorter. But I intend to be all about the muscle this month. So more muscle and keep up the cardio.

Welcome LKBAngel and MissMinerva. I think this is the best motivator I have ever had. You will love it!

Well....let's see. I just started a new workout plan with a friend and after figuring the numbers I think my minutes came to about 990. I feel good, if not a little scared, about that number. But, heck, I'll give it a try as long as you good folks swear by it. Count me in for 990!

GringaGordita

I'm pledging 1620 total minutes for February.

That takes into account 5 cardio workouts per week at 45 minutes and 2 yoga classes at 90 minutes per week. I'll be traveling some in Feb., so that might be hard to meet, but I'll try!

Hi all,

Congrats to all of you who made all your minutes last month, and good luck to all of us who didn't. We can make it this month.

I'm feeling much better than I have been all week, boy was that a bad cold!

I pledge, 900mins this month!

I did 60mins of cardio & weights circuit today.

Hey y'all! I did 50 minutes yesterday of cardioand weights. My friend and I have started a new strength training program that predominantly uses an exercise ball and it is soo much fun. I guess cuz the ball is bouncy and can be used as a toy the workout seems less like a workout I totally recommend it! So, 990-50=940 more to go for february.
Hey GG...I'm from Nashville too! (Well, I am in school in PA now, but raised in Nashville. I miss it so much.) Good to see someone from home! Good luck everyone!

hey guys, I am totally into the yoga right now. decided to take a break from weight training a few months ago, and was just doing cardio and a couple of lunch time yoga classes. recently found a new yoga teacher who i absolutely adore. she teaches evening classes and i'm totally addicted to it. i swear i can see my body reshaping week by week, even though the scale hasn't been budging. i try and make it to at least three intense classes a week, but i have been known to go up to 6 times a week.

I changed my exercise regiment and do 35 min cardio on one day and the next 30 min of sculpt. I'm seeing some changes as I am into day 18 of the Power90 program. Some of you may have watched the infomercial BeachBodies. I don't know why I ordered it because most of the time those things aren't what they say but at any rate this seems to be working. Coming right down to the wire again. I didn't quite make my goal in January and not certain that I will this month either. But because of this challenge and striving to reach my goal, I exercised much more than I would have otherwise. Normally I only stay this focused on fitness when I spend a fortune to hire a trainer. But this challenge motivates me to keep going. Good thing, because I really can't afford a trainer right now. So thank you for starting these challenges Semo. Eventually I'll manage the 1000 minutes/month.

170-60=110left

Chrim32- I to have been exercising way more than I did before this challenge. It's nice being accountable to someone about exercise.

Semo- I hope there's going to be a March challenge? lol These challenges help keep me in check!

Good morning girls! Hey as long as I'm not the only person posting here we will keep the challenge going. It really helps me to have a goal for each month and make me accountable to someone other than myself. I tend to accept my excuses easier when I'm not posting. You guys made my day! :D

No workout yesterday. I was exhausted after work and decided to make it my rest day. Today did 40 min. on the elliptical and a 60 min. Body Pump class. My arms and legs are so tired right now I don't want to move. I think my muscles need a long, hot, bubbly soak.

230 - 100 = 130

Congrats on making your goal KitKat. You deserve to be proud of yourself; you worked really hard for it.

Semo, 5 min. to go. How exciting. I'll save the congrats for tomorrow but there's no doubt you'll make your goal. You can use up your 5 min. just walking to the bathroom.

As for me, I can't be certain but all I need is 1 aerobics class and 70 min. of yoga so my goal is still attainable.
