Goooooood (very early) morning, everyone!

And happy week 2 to all! :D

Was off to a bit of a bumpy start this weekend. Saturday was the first day that I missed my planned exercise in over 4 months! :o However, I was fairly busy that day, I went out to grocery shop at two different places and was moving around a lot. So, the good news is that I wasn't just a lump all day on the sofa, even though I could've pushed myself to get up on the treadmill.

ALSO, more importantly, I woke up Sunday, dusted myself off and got up on the treadmill, and got a very nice walk in.

Food probably could've been better yesterday, but I'm not getting too caught up on it. If every week was like all of last week, I'd still lose weight and continue to be building my fitness up, so I'm content and I'll aim to make improvements to this week. :)

I was down 2.8 on the scale this week, so that was certainly nice.

All-in-all, I'm feeling good for the start of the challenge ^_^

Went running 3 times last week, so I succeeded on my weekly challenge for the ''run 3 times a week'' part!

Ready fo week 2!!! :)

Was down 2lb all week until weigh in and only lost a 1lb big dissapointment since I really stuck with it all week. was under points every day until saturday then over by 5 and for that I got the pleasure to put on a pound. Hope next week I make up for it

Today is my weigh-in day. I am down 3 lbs & excited about it because it finally drops me down into the 200's! I got my "First 5 lbs Lost" gold star online. I haven't started back to school yet, so I haven't had the opportunity to pack my own meals & snacks. I am going on my 4th week this week doing the WW online program, and still learning what works best for me. I find that I sometimes use all of my points up for the day, but I'm still hungry in the evening. I think I need to incorporate more veggies in to my meals to help fill me up without adding points. I'm still learning how to eat better within the Points Plus framework.

I lost 0.2 for my weigh in. I had a rough time with pms/tom for the 2nd time in a row. Just constant hunger issues, no matter how much water I drank, sugar free gum I chewed, food I chose that generally fills me up better like greek yogurt, etc. I was actually probably looking at a 1 lb or so gain earlier in the week but just got back on track and did the best I could for the rest of the week.

But lots of good things going on! I didn't chicken out of the orientation for the intro running group/class thingy, I went camping over the weekend and did some fairly challenging hikes with beautiful views as rewards, and still got lots of activity in general all week.

I had a really bad week with pms cravings and water weight gain and I hope to rid myself of these additional 2 lbs. soon!

Because everyone is supposed to have entered their datas for the week one of the challenge, I completed the chart for the few who haven't by putting their same weight as last week to the ''end of week 1'' column.

If you're late but still want to enter your data, you only have to erase it and put your WI instead and the formulas will do the rest. :)

--------------

At the end of week one, we lost a total of 24.1 pounds, or 8,00% of the total weight we want to loose!

Good work, ladies! :)

Good luck everyone this week :)

Last week was fine for me... tho I was much lazier about cooking and probably didn't get nearly enough vegetables in. Working on doing better this week. I realized I like _SOME_ sweet potatoes! I have also been really lazy with the gym lately and need to get back to it.

Arrg up 0.8 lb. I lost so much my first week (4.4 lb) they told me it might because my body went into shock. At least I'm still in the negatives and we'll just change it up a little this week.

I started school last week too, so I was eating later than I was my first week and taking a snack with me to class (night class). I stayed within my points though which is frustrating! Ohh well. Back at it though!

Good luck to everyone else this week!

Down 2lbs this week! I also hit the gym 3 times which was one of my goals. Didn't get to walk with the baby at all this week, but I'll keep working on that throughout the challenge. Woohoo!

Way to go everyone :D

To anyone who either had a smidge of a gain or wanted to lose more: Put it behind you and focus on the habits. We've got two months to add in great habits -and- it'll show as we go along!

Well said, Lovely :)

Right now I'm at the garage and there's a huuuge bunch of caramilk chocolate bar (my favorite) eyeing me (okay, I'm eyeing them). My car won't be ready for like 1 hour. I want a bar so bad! LOL

Ouch! >_<

Sometimes if I'm stuck in a situation like that, I tell myself "Lovely, that's not an option. You're not having <insert item>, and there's no choice in the matter."

Surprisingly enough, just telling myself that it's not an option makes it easier to just say no, and move on about my day.

Don't worry, I finally resisted.

They told me I need to put about 700$ on my car, so I'll put the 2$ of the chocolat bar on that bill. Yay, just 698$ to pay. :(

THREE pounds. Its exciting to post this on 3 challenges! I counted calories and dually tracked WWPP and came up short of points daily. My leader said "what did you do different" and I said less points. She said continue but she'd like me not to dip below 24 daily. Well, I'll continue and see how it works out. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE.

Turbo - Congrats on resisting the temptation! Sorry about the car bill! That's a lot...what's wrong if I might ask?

124chicksinger - Congrats on your weight loss! How many points below are you going a day?

For most of us that struggled with pms/tom this week (and there seemed to be quite a few of us) - How do you keep your struggles in check? The week before my tom starts I go up I kid u not 10 pounds!!! and I can't help but eat almost everything in sight. But two days after tom starts and appetite goes away I am back down at least 10 pounds if not more. I have got to figure out some way to get on track and stay on track 100% no matter what.

I've heard a number of ways that people deal with TOM struggles.

One that sticks out in my mind is to thoroughly & completely plan every meal and morsel of food that you will consume ahead of time for those two days.

You can plan to eat a little more. Or to keep yourself strict, you can simply tell yourself "It's not on the list. It's not an option. There's no choice in the matter."

Planning out three meals and a couple snacks for two days is not actually that difficult, and would only take about 10 minutes. So you keep that piece of paper with you for the two days and stick to what's on it no matter what.

For the car bill, well, many things were wrong. *sigh* They had to change completely my front breaks, complete clean up of the breaks on le back, change the blocked air filter and changes a supposed to be keaking front pipe gasket. All that on a 3 years old car that I got new. And that's the third time I have to do some mecanics on it (change a fan strap last christmas and the water pomp 1 year ago) :(

Oh and of course, my 3 years warrante stoped at the end of August :D

For the TOMS, I work out a bit more. It really helps my tummy pain and helps the gaining part too. I also try to watch carefully for sodium during this week :S

Thanks for the advice but I think I should restate my problem lol. I wish it was two days of issues or after tom started but it's not LOL. It's the WHOLE week before tom that I become a human vacuum! I'll just take the advice and spread it out to the the whole week, so again thanks.

Turbo - Wow that is a lot of problems for a 3 year old new car lol.

Lovely - I like the idea of planning and saying if it's not there I can't eat. Hopefully that will work but with two little ones sometimes I have to roll with the punches lol.

I started taking Cinnamon plus chromium today to help with my appetite. Since I have PCOS it is supposed to help regulate my blood sugar, KMFX!

Hey All. Just checking in. Not much new with me. Was up 1/2 pound today. That could be anything. I feel bloated and like I have a little extra water on me. So we'll see if I can get rid of it. Been drinking more water today and will do so again tomorrow. Time will tell.

124chick - Yea for 3 pounds!!! Maybe you've found what works for you. I know WW wants you to think that their program is the "be all" of them but you have to find what works for you and your body.

Turbo - That's a lot to have to do to a car that is only 3 years old. Hopefully this is the last of it and you'll have a perfect car for the winter months.

Lovely - I like your idea of not having "options" on certain foods. I think I'll try that this week and see how I do. My willpower is not so great so perhaps this will help.

I hope you all have a great evening. I'll check back tomorrow.

@PageLynn, 6 points less daily on average, no WP or AP. Not sure for how long I'll do this....today starts week 2 of this experiment. I'd like to see the pounds continue to drop, but I don't want to harm my body either. 1200 calories was my target last week, and this week I've given myself a ceiling of 1400. I plan out my meals as best I can, basically eat the same foods I was on the full 29 points, just less, while at the same time "listening" to my hunger and satisfaction level. This tweak definitely worked last week; I look forward to this week.

Good Morning. Just a quick check in. I made a WW recipe Peach Cobbler yesterday. I ate one piece and it must be a trigger food. All I wanted to do was eat yesterday. And not eat the healthy stuff. I wanted the sweet stuff. So I'm gonna pitch it today and get it out of my house!!! Live and learn I guess.

Have a good day ladies. I'll be back later.

Good for you choosing to pitch it!

This reminds me of the "Stoplight" approach.

Green foods, yellow foods, and red foods.

Green foods are generally healthy foods that you have no problems controlling, eating in moderation and dealing with on a daily basis.

Yellow foods are foods that you can still handle as long as they are closely monitored and measured out.

Red foods, however, are foods you cannot trust yourself with. Foods that honestly should not be kept in the house. This does not mean you cannot eat them every once in a while if you go out to eat or something, but they are not allowed to be kept in your house, because if left alone with them... we might eat the whole container!

One of my leaders used to talk about her big trigger food. Cookies. Cookies no matter the kind, if they were in her house she'd eat the whole sleeve or the whole box or what-have-you. She had to decide that cookies were Red Foods, and were not allowed in her house.

She did allow herself to go out and buy a gourmet cookie if she wanted it, but she couldn't bring that cookie home. She couldn't buy a box, because there was NO moderation for her if she brought them home.

She had to accept that her version of moderation was to only enjoy a cookie as a special treat, and NOT in her house.

I tend to like this philosophy. Why tempt myself with foods that I can't moderate? It's not "never eat this, again, in your life", because I can still have x food if I plan properly for it, but rather "don't put any unnecessary pressure on yourself by keeping tempting foods out of the house!"

So, in a long-winded way, good for you for deciding to toss a food away that was just a trigger!

Lovely - I like the idea of green, yellow, red foods. I need to make a list of these.
One of my definite red foods is pizza. I can't stop myself lol.

clsuits - Congrats on throwing it out! I find it hard to throw food away or waste it...smh. I want your willpower!

I love the stoplight approach! And think I will adopt it and give it a whirl!

I am a big frustarted lately I have been eating below my points only because I am listening my satisfaction level and just not hungry and my weith loss has slowed down to .5 this week urgg.

Any advice???

oh on another subject I carry in my purse a baggie with baby carrots and celery, sometimes cherry tomatoes so when I am tempted I just reach for my legal snack

Nancy - I am serving at a wedding reception tomorrow evening and am not sure what type of food they will have. I think I'll take cues from you and put some legal veggies in a baggie and throw it in my purse. Just in case!! Thanks for posting this idea.

It's awesome that you're listening to your hunger signals! I would say, though, that if you're looking to get in a few more Points that you first try "regular" versions of foods.

For example, if you've been using skim milk or fat free yogurts or cheeses... that you actually buy the Full Fat versions. Higher Points, but same volume, so you can squeeze in a couple more points to your day without feeling overly full.

Remember that nuts and peanut butter/nut butters are a non-filling way to boost points.

Keep in mind that while we're trying to lose weight, our bodies aren't always working "with us". They -want- to hold onto extra fat, it's in our genes! So, there are going to be weeks when things are slower.

Don't fret. There will also be weeks when things are faster. Go with the flow for a little while. Then, after some time, you can check for patterns or look to improve things if there's anything to be improved.

As another note: If things get too frustrating down the road, you can always create a new thread and list a week's worth of your meals if you want people to critique what you're eating or how much. Keep an open mind, you don't have to listen to every single bit of advice if it doesn't fit, but you might actually find a few pointers on how to improve your food choices, etc.

Happy Sunday folks. As we start a new week in the challenge, I hope we can all have progress of some sort this week. If there are hurdles to be jumped, may we make it across to the other side; if there is something to be learned, may it be a light bulb moment for us. May we get more comfortable with planning and tracking and eating properly and may we all in the end see something positive for our efforts.

I posted on another challenge that I'd like to continue to stay off the scale until official weigh ins on Wednesday. It really is like an itch that wants scratching! So that is my goal this week, until Wednesday :).

clsuits -- it took a lot to get rid of that triggery food, I'm sure. Congrats on that.

Hugs to all, Donna

Well a disapointing week for me to be sure only down .5 but I will continure to stick with it. On Wednesday I start my very first visit to a gym. I got this great deal 5 weeks with 5 session with a personel trainer for 10.00 so I am hoping this will get me kick started.

I adjusted my goal for this challenge too 15lbs was a bit unrealistic considering it has been 2 weeks with only 1.5 loss so I think a 7lbs for this challenge is more realistic for me
