Default NSV & Scale Victory ~ I can see it for the first time!

1. In all my attempts to lose weight over the years I've never been able to lose more than about 20 lbs. This morning I stepped on the scale and for the first time ever I have lost a total of 30 lbs.

2. I got dressed and noticed my newest favorite closet find had a small hole in the seat. I decided to go closet shopping again & this time I looked way in the back & pulled out a pair of shorts I bought that I didn't try on at the store and by the time I tried to wear them they were too small and too late to return, so they've been sitting in my closet. I put them on and not only did they fit but I had to put a belt on because the waist was a bit big.

3. The belt. I bought a 3X belt last summer, it was the biggest belt I could find and I could only get it to go on the first hole and that was tight. That was one of my low points. I needed that belt because I had to buy jeans that were too big in the waist to be able to fit my rear & hips in. This morning I put that belt on and I was able to put it in the 4th hole and it was a comfortable fit. I decided to put the belt back in the 1st hole so I could see the difference. I was amazed!

For the first time ever I can see my weight loss in the clothes I wear. I cant see it when I look in the mirror though but I'm sure that will come eventually. I cant say how super excited I am about this.

woohooo! Great job and such fun NSVs! Closet shopping is great, but sounds like you'd better get busy going through things or it will end up being too big before you have a chance to wear it! lol!

Great job! You'll see it soon in the mirror. It took me about 30 pounds to see any difference, too. Then it was like, "How didn't I see this before?" lol Don't you just love the feeling you get? It just keeps you motivated to hit the next goal.

Congratulations. I remember when I had to cut a new hole in my belt. It was a proud day. Belt notches are such a great weight loss ticker. Better than any scale.

I agree. I can step on the scale and see a 1-2 lbs loss and it will make me smile but I'll tell you what, when I moved that belt to the 4th notch I was literally jumping for joy! It's a huge motivator.

Great job! That's a cool idea about comparing with your belt before and after.

"Closet shopping" First time I have heard that, great way to put it. And yes, it is the best feeling ever! The scale is a good monitor but it's a little bit emotionally removed; "I can fit into these pants from college!" hits a lot closer to home.
