Wink Just starting out... need to lose 200 lbs

Hi, I'm Cyn. Very 1st post..I am just starting my weight loss regimen. I have ALOT of weight to lose, Motivation to go to the gym and to even stick to a plan is incredibly difficult, it takes guts to start... It takes even more to see it through to the end. I hope I have what it takes, i'm a new mommy as well, i have a beautiful son who is 15 months old. I want to be the best possible role model for him, to show him that there is nothing he can't do. I won't let my son develop the same bad habits I have so it have decided to live a healthy life style. I welcome new friends and hope this community has my back!!!

Welcome to the forum! You will find an amazing amount of information and support here.
My first piece of advice is to not look at the whole picture now. Make small changes first, drink more water, eat more fruit and veggies and move more. Set mini goals for yourself, they will help keep you motivated and on track. Most importantly, DO NOT GIVE UP. If you have a bad day, a bad week, jump back on plan and keep moving forward.
Best of luck to you.

Welcome, Cyn! You've come to a great place for support, encouragement, and friendship during your weight loss journey.

You're right, it takes guts to start, and you have, so congrats for that! Give yourself lots of credit for taking the first step, often the hardest, towards a healthier life. You have what it takes- believe me, we all do! It takes a while to adjust to the changes that are necessary to be fit and healthy, but it really does get easier each time we make good food choices and fit in exercise.

Wishing you strength and determination!

Welcome to 3FC =)

It can be downright overwhelming at the start. To look at the whole picture was actually daunting for me. To think that I needed to lose anywhere from between 150 to 180 pounds... it seemed insurmountable.

Yet. Breaking it up into smaller goals. Focusing on things that have nothing to do with the numbers whatsoever. Asking others for help and finding a lot of support... well... this GIANT MOUNTAIN of weight loss is ... doable. Maybe I can't lose 150 pounds...but I can lose 10 pounds. And I keep those 10 pounds off. And I can lose 10 more pounds... and keep those pounds off.

You don't have to hope that you have what it takes. You DO have what it takes.

One day at a time, one meal at a time. Some days it's hard. Some days it's okay. But, we keep stepping forward no matter what

Welcome Cyn! You're going to love it here! I know I already do! There is a lot of support and helpful information. Congrats on wanting to become more healthy, you can do it! The first step is actually really committing to wanting to make a change and you've done that. I'm sure your son is already proud of his Mommy and will continue to be!
