GOOD MONDAY MORNING EVERYONE!

Will post my usual morning post sometime later, but wanted to make sure I got our
MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY done early in the morning, so here's my contribution for MM, there's two of them here for you today:D

GO AHEAD ANYWAY

If you let disappointment stop you, you'll make its pain a permanent, negative part of your life. When you choose instead to persist, and to move ahead, with each new step the disappointment becomes smaller, and the pain quickly fades away.

Yes, you could put disappointment behind you by letting it turn you back, by allowing it to stop you in your tracks. But if you do, that disappointment will always be there to exert its pain and regret. Instead, put the disappointment behind you by moving on through it and then beyond it. And with your persistence you will get completely past the pain of that disappointment.

Persistence requires no special skill, just the willingness and commitment to always take the next step. Though the disappointments will certainly come, persistence is the surest and quickest way to get past them.

Look behind every achievement and you will always find persistence. When you're so disappointed you feel you can't go on, that is indeed when you'll gain the very most by pushing ahead anyway.

If the pain of disappointment has come, then you've already paid the price. That's the time to move on ahead with persistence, to where you can surely reap the reward.

**************
What battle are you engaged in with yourself? Are you having a hard time going for your dream because you don't believe that you will succeed? Because you cannot see yourself obtaining your heart's desire? It's hard to move forward when you keep pulling yourself backwards. Namely, when you keep falling into the same old self-defeating patterns that take you in the opposite direction of your goals. How can you end this battle between what you want and what you think you deserve? By confronting those beliefs that are keeping you from your happiness. Examine these limiting beliefs and commit to proving them false by taking active steps towards your dreams.

GOOD MORNING ALL YOU FIGHTERS OF FAT, YOU EMBRACERS OF GOOD HEALTH!!!!

Now how's that for an early Monday morning greeting. My motivational thought continues to be those LARGE pictures of me from Christmas. Everytime I think about them I cringe and want to jump on the treadmill. Not very though provoking for you all, but it's working for this 1FC.

Hey, just wanted to let those who asked know that I posted one picture of some of the jewelry I've made over the past month. Some I've already given away. I need to start taking pictures of everything BEFORE giving it to someone. Anyways, that gives you an picture of what I'm doing. DEB, thanks for the offer of some of your old supplies. I'm not sure if I'll need any of them. Perhaps the next time we talk, we can get into more details about what you have.

Okay, must dress. Cannot face the world in this ratty old robe. No way. Definitely not a dress for success look. If you know what I mean.

Catch you later.

Good Monday morning everyone.. Kind of glad the week-end is over and the week has begun. Since my DH is doing SB with me now I tried to make it special by making things he liked. I made Debilli's cheesecake and last night we had cheese burgers made with legal whole wheat hamburger buns. Yummy good. Saturday night I made shrimp fried rice. We're a little more strick on the week-days. No carbs at night. We can only get out of here in a four wheel drive. We have a long hill (about 1 mile) to go up before we get to the highway. So I'm stuck at home till it thaws a bit. Hope that is in the next day or two. I'm sure needing to go grocery shopping. My husband uses our four wheel drive to go to work. This is really stupid for someone whos been here for so long but I forgot how to get to the pictures...

The Quilter- I can't wait to see your jewlery. I'm going hunting after I leave here.

Debilli- Thank you for the message. Thats one of the hardest parts of losing weight is the disappointment. When you don't lose like you think you should. Or in yourself for not doing as well as you could have.

Guess I'll check back later when more have posted...

The Quilter- Oh my gosh I found the album and your jewlery is wonderful... I love the necklace that looks like it has a turquoise ball on the end of it... You're great!!!!

Monday

It is snowing here again. I can't even tell how much snow has accumulated on the ground since Christmas because the wind blows so hard it moves it around. The kids have dug a hole in the snow on the front yard and all three of them can be in it and disappear from sight so there is quite a bit!

I had a really fun weekend away at the retreat with the two girls I brought. The worship band was way too charismatic for me and my girls though. I prefer real worship music that draws you to Christ rather than shallow hopping around and acting like 10 year olds, but hey, that is just me! ;) When I see 40 somethings acting like 10 year olds it tends to send alarms off for me. The food was fantabulous though. One of the highlights of the weekend. I also had TOM arrive on Sunday so the scale was not kind upon my return. However, I am riding the wagon hard now and will be back to *normal* soon, I am sure. We did have a wonderful QUILTING workshop and I made my very first LOG CABIN square. It was so easy and beautiful that I am truly hooked. I am definitely going to make quilting a major hobby in my life. The ladies brought gorgeous quilts for us to see that I understand now why they say it is so addicting.

QUILTER- I am off to see the photo you posted too.

TONI- Hiya! How wonderful that your hubby is SB'ing with you and you can enjoy such healthy meals together. You sound like you are in a winter wonderland like us!

Morning all!

It's going to be warmer today--all the way up to 48 degrees (f)! You know it's bad when you are excited that it is in the 40s. Where oh where is that January thaw????????

For all of those rooting for the Bucs--Congrats!:D

This week is organizational week for me. Now that elections and inaugural are finally over it is time to go through all the files and weed out and get everything put away. I will spend most of the day shredding!

I also need to go grocery shopping to stock up on good food for the week. No excuses now!

Toni--Hope you can get out before the cabin fever gets too bad! Good for you fixing those nurtitious meals for hubby!

Kim--I'm going to head over to look at your jewlry!

Have a great day everyone and a great week!

Diet Coaches - You Can Do It ! - Strengthening Your Willpower
Dear Dieting Friends

I hope this finds you each thrilled over your weight loss success and committed to continuing the journey. You can lose weight and keep it off permanently. The history of yo-yo dieting doesn't have to repeat itself. This can be the last diet you are ever on, the choice is yours. Are you willing to change those overeating behaviors?
Why is it that we cling to our old eating behaviors like we're never going to eat again? Why is it so hard for us to give up those old ways? Why is it so easy for us to slip back into those patterns when a trigger event happens?
It's because those patterns are well established within us. They can still be broken and overcome but only if we practice at it.
If one doesn't work a muscle for a long time the muscle becomes flabby. It can't handle lifting certain weights. It's the same with our will power. If we don't exercise saying "no" to extra servings, large portions and overeating our will power is also flabby and ineffective. We have to strengthen our will power and it takes exercising our will power for it to become stronger and stronger.
Just like you start with a small number of reps to build or tone a muscle group start with little willpower reps also. Say 'no' to a few things each day. Take one meal a day and commit to eating small portions and slowly, eventually building up to eating small portions and slowly at all your meals.
Give up one snack a day and then give up more and more snacking. Learn to be satisfied with one bite size candy bar rather than a whole large candy bar. Learn to be satisified with a regular size burger and give up the Whopper burger. Learn that fruit is a healthy between meal choice and only eat fruits or veggies between meals. As you exercise your willpower it grows and grows and saying 'no' becomes easier. We need to keep exercising our will power after the weight is off so we don't regain that unwanted weight also. Being thin is a lifetime commitment. Are you ready and willing to change those overeating behaviors for the rest of your life? You won't be deprived you'll be thrilled. You will still experience moments of 'food pleasure' but they'll be moments and not your entire way of life. You can do it.
Exercise your will power today. You need to exercise it in order for it to be strong. Put it to work today, put it to work several times today, work it hard, friends, make it strong and your weight will become less and less. You can do it!

With respect,
Coach Joy

Good Monday Afternoon:wave:

Can't believe the morning is gone already. I just got home from doing my 4.5 miles. Yes, you read correctly, I actually got my butt out and pounded the pavement. My feet didn't know whether to be happy or want to kick me in the rear. I waited to go til it got a little warmer AND for the winds to die down. It sure got warmer but the winds are really kicking out there today. I was surprised it only took me 53:21, I swear I thought I'd be almost an hour today. It wasn't easy to do and I can feel the effects of not doing any exercise in over 3 weeks - exclusing the marathon. I'm going to try and get in at least 4 days a week this week. I almost didn't get out there but now that I've gone and come back, I'm glad:D

I keep forgetting to mention something some of us spoke about at the SB GET TOGETHER. Wanted to get your opinions of what you thought about this idea. The way we had the old recipe boards, doing it quarterly, was a great idea, but many people asked that we do it the new way so it would be categorized and people could just find, say desserts, all in one area. BUT, with these changes, I see that we aren't really getting many recipes posted like we use to and that it's harder to find the new recipes. What do you think about doing both? I would make a quarterly recipe board and all recipes could be posted there and then a copy would be put on the recipe boards that are broken down by category. Any thoughts???

I have to get out of the house in a little bit. Have to run by the library to return 2 movies and a book and p/u a movie. We saw REQUIEM FOR A DREAM and at first it seemed like I wasn't going to like it, but boy, it was a pretty darned good movie. We have so many taken out from the library I haven't had time to see them yet and keep having to renew them. Today I'm picking up PULP FICTION. Then I have to go to the kids school to make copies of my volunteer forms.

Wanted to get in a few replies before I have to skiddadle...

BKM, forgot to tell you THANK YOU for the e-card you sent to Lauren!

MELF, I will most definitely tell LAUREN you sent her belated wishes.

JACKK, I think if I can somehow learn how to get right back on plan when I want to eat something off plan once in a while it would be a major breakthrough. I truly do think it's that taste of sugar that just puts me in a tailspin and makes me want and crave more and more until I get absolutely sick of overeating and overeating garbage. I use to be able to eat just one piece of chocolate and now, it's one bar-where did that control go? It's always been either all or nothing with me. I wonder if this is something that can be changed?shrug: Don't worry about that pizza, we both know that once in a blue moon thing I mentioned and as said above, get right back on track and you shouldn't have any problems:)

SEF, who said you were old? Lord knows that I'm not old by todays standards and even I can't remember half the crap you do! Me amaze you??? Aren't you amazed with yourself, I sure am! I really and honestly do marvel in all you do!!!!

FILLISE, hope you had fun at your Super Bowl Party!!!

BOB, did you hear them celebrating in TB? How are you feeling today? Back at work?

ACW, I've gotten wonderful things at garage sales. Funny, I just never thought about garage sales in other countries, besides Canada. Sounds like you'll be busy restoring the doll house, but what fun that should be!

MOMOF3REDS, http://members.aol.com/eldemila/sb_sign2.jpg Glad you've decided to join us! What's taken you so long to take the plunge and come and join our group? I had to laugh when you said I have every excuse in the book and the next volume for why I allowed myself to gain the weight back I think us "dieters" could fill up the Library of Congress with our volumes. How long ago did you lose the 25lbs? How much would you like to lose?

QUILTER, love the jewelry. Would love to see a few close-ups of the details. What are you using as far as metal? I mean, I take it you aren't using gold findings. I think you need to have Paul take a picture of YOU modeling one of your original pieces and post it on the board!!!!

TONI, did you make or buy the ww buns? You should post a picture of the area you live in, it just sounds so pretty, I'd love to see it. Heck, you should post a picture of yourself-it sure would be nice to put a name and a face together;)

GRACIOUS, would you be so kind to keep your artic winds up in Canada? I mean, all the Canadians come to SOFLA to get away from the cold, snow and wind! We'd all be so grateful;) Loved the word FANTABULOUS! Glad to see you had a great time this weekend. So we've now got another quilter on the board, I see!

LDBLOND, thanks for posting that article from Diet Coach as part of MM! How are you feeling???

MAE, what's happening with the interview at the college you mentioned last time you posted?

WOW! Can't believe, it's 1pm already. Have to go jump in the shower. Will try to wiggle my way on to the board later today/tonight.

Have a wonderful day everybody!

Afternoon y'all. Well, it's Monday again and I was not ready to get up this morning. I stayed up for the game, of course. Not so much to see the game as to catch the commercials. Dennis said I missed some good ones while I was at church tho. Anyway, my eating was not horrible over the weekend, but definitely not OP. Took Dennis out for his birthday. I made the mistake of not eating lunch and was starving when we got to the mexican food rest. So....guess who dived into the chips?:o Then I indulged in some sweets yesterday during the game. I'm back on the wagon now tho. I've even gotten my two miles in today.:D

OK. I'm headed off to look at Quilter's jewelry. I'll Check in later.

Deb- Thanks for asking. My interview is tomorrow at 10:00. I found out Friday that they wanted to finally set up the interview. Friday was a sad day for me. A good friend was killed on Sunday Jan 19 (he was a volunteer fireman in Porter, Tx) he left behind a 8 year old daughter. When I got home that is when I found out about the interview. It was a light in the darkness.
Deb were you ever able to download the pics I sent to you?

Good Monday Afternoon.

I read the posts this morning then had to run out to a meeting at Churchill Downs and it lasted until after lunch. I missed breakfast and my snack and 1/2 my lunch hour. I wasn't even really hungry when I got back. But boy was I cold. I still haven't thawed out.
So now I am caught up and ready to post.

Hope everyone is ready to start out this SB week on a great note.

We stayed at the party until the end of the SB last nite. I'm glad Bucs won. DH was pulling for Oakland. :D

BOb, Glad you are "painless" at present. Hope it continues. I bet you were a hoot in a gay bar.

Sef, Hope your fee got a good rest. Sounded like they needed one. I thought the Dixie Chicks were good also and Celine is my all time favorite anyway.

Fillisie, Hope you are feeling better today.

Mom of 3 reds, Welcome. IF you have done this before then you know it works. Glad you decided to join our board. Good luck.

Quilter, I'm glad those pics are still motivating you. Keep up the good work.

Toni, Did you al lget alot more snow? We only got flurries and about 1/2" on the ground. Keep your :crossed: I think it is supposed to warm up by Wed.

Gracious, glad you enjoyed your retreat. My girls used to come home so sweet and religious after them. Never lasted long though. I would love to go on one one day. I know what you mean about the music. Some of it doesn't even sound like church music. This board is going to be full of quilters.

Fillise, The word pollitics and shredding together makes me wonder.

Idblond, Oooh I liked that MM. It was so true and I could actually say that I have done a couple of those things and that made me feel good. Thanks for posting it.

Maemae, Hope you are having a great sb day. Loved the note about your DS praying for Boogie. How sweet. Sorry about your friend. How sad. Good luck on the interview.

Deb, Loved the MM on dissapointment. I didn't know you could get movies at the library. Shows how long it's been since I visited one. So proud of you getting out there walking toay. Back to routine feels good. I'm always glad I went out after I'm finished. On the recipe boards, that seems to be a lot of work for you to have to copy them each qtr. Do what you think is best though. I'm sure the more you jump right back on plan the sooner it will become a natural thing. Not that you should eat off plan alot to get back on, but... oh well you know what I mean. It just takes doing things several times to make it a habit. It's those old habits we have to break. I think making a conscience effort while you are off plan to go right back on plan is a big step. Does any of that makes any sense??

Music, the most important thing is that you are back OP today and going strong.

Need to get started on my day here. Glad I have a pot of chili made for dinner.

Have a great day.

Jackie

Good evening.. Just had dinner and thought I'd pop in and see how everyones day went. Made a cheeseburger patti with a green salad for dinner. Think tomorrow its time I put on a pot of beans...Its still really cold here. And there is still enough ice on the hill we live down to not make it safe to bring our car down. So I'm stuck at home till Wed.

Gracious- Your retreat sounds so neat. I love log cabin quilts. Wish I could get some interest in doing something like that...

Fillise- sounds like you're busy as usual. Lucky you with 48 degrees..

Idblond- Liked your diet coaches, thank for posting it..

maemae- a great big howdy to you. So sorry about your friend passing away. Saying a little prayer for your interview....

Debilli- I bought the buns at the health food store. They're stone ground wheat and you have to cut them yourself. But they're good. I use them for 2 breads and we only have them once in awhile. I need to have DH take a picture of me and the land around us. It is beautiful here.

music teach- Well its back on the wagon day for ya.. LOL... Mexican food is a weakness for me.

Dawnstorm- Will have to try that ranch chicken now.. It always did sound good I just never made it..

Jack-K- We've just got plain old ice all around our house, its been so cold here its having trouble thawing out. Sure hate this bitter cold...

Well think I missed a page or something. I'm always doing that... I'll have to close this and go check. Have a great evening...

Hello and a happy Monday evening to you all!

It?s still bitter here. Whatever. I cannot even begin to imagine how ROSALIE and our other northern neighbors are surviving. Bless all your little freezing hearts. Keep warm and keep smiling.

Here?s a question for those of you who have lost a lot of weight and kept it off. Do you notice any difference in your tolerance for the cold without your extra insulation? Just wondering. Cause if I?m this cold now with all the excess fat, what will happen when I get to my goal weight? Yikes, I may have to move to sunnier states.

We went out to lunch today. I really don?t want to talk about it. Here?s the deal, it was one of the girl?s in the office birthday lunch and she picked PF Changs. I really don?t like that restaurant, plus I try to stay away from that oriental cooking because of all the hidden calories. I wasn?t that hungry (which was a good thing), but there are not a lot of choices. I opted for the chicken Lo Mein. Yes, I know those noodles were not SB legal, but I didn?t want to go the way of the rice. Anyway, I did eat some, but brought most of it home to Paul. What are your suggestions at a chinese restaurant? I had my WW point book at the office and when we got back I checked to see that one measly cup of chicken lo mein was NINE POINTS! Ugh, what a waste of perfectly good points. Oh well, I wrote in my food journal when I got home: This one meal doesn?t and won?t blow my whole plan and it won?t even blow the whole day. Trying to keep a positive outlook. (Hard work!)

One more thing I started today. I started journalling my thoughts and reflections for the day in my food journal notebook. I was so frustrated over that lunch situation, so I decided to just write all that out in there. So I have my food choices and my thoughts all on the same page. Do any of you journal your thoughts? Does it help you to look back and see what was going on at different times and what you were thinking about? I just hope that life doesn?t get so busy that I have to put this on a back burner. Tonight I started it in the car while I was waiting for Paul to come out from work. Any other tips on this subject of journalling will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Has anybody heard of Kathleen Daelamann? She?s on the Food Network and she has a half-hour show called Cooking Thin. Wow, she?s great! She was a brilliant and acclaimed chef in a size 22 body. She moved to Hawaii to be the chef of a really swanky hotel over there. Well, when she got there, she found out they were changing over to a spa and all the cooking was going to have to be healthy and suited for people to lose weight. She lost too. Now she?s a size 8. She mainly converts recipes from high fat and calorie to lower versions. I just like watching and hearing her little ideas that got her through. Check her out on the foodtv.com site. She?s very inspiring to me. I?m in a 22, and I look at her looking so healthy. It really makes me want to keep going.

Okay, now to you all.

TONI---Wow, I sure wish I had been visiting you this past weekend! You did some great cooking. Sounds great. I?m so happy your DH is SBing with you. My DH could stand to drop some pounds, but he has no interest in it. His excess doesn?t bother him one bit. Glad you liked the jewelry. It sure is fun to do. And I just found a bead shop within 2 miles of my house. Whoopee. Let the good times (and the checkbook) roll!!!! Hang in there with that cabin fever, girlfriend. Do you have any special projects to keep you extra busy? Do you get to watch Dr. Phil? I love his show. When I am home I also always catch Martha Stewart and Surprise by Design. Are you a daytime tv watcher?

GRACIOUS---Hi! Glad to hear you had a good get-away weekend. The quilting sounds fabulous. I have always loved the Log Cabin Square. You can do so much with it and make such different looking quilts. Congrats on your creativity. I?m so happy you?ve opened your arms and heart to quilting. Good for you! You make me want to get out all my fabric and get started again. But I can?t because I?m glued to the jewelry right now. Ha!!! I guess I like to jump from one craft to another. Were there any of those window quilts that look like a landscape through a window? I love those. Can?t even imagine how that?s done. Have fun! What colors did you use in your LC square?

FILLISE---You are so organized with your business. You should give seminars on how to plan and keep yourself organized when you are self employed. A few years ago I did freelance design work from the house, but I didn?t do well with the paperwork end of it. And I wasn?t good at ?growing? a business. Do you have a strategic plan for yourself and that?s how you plan what you will do? Just wondering. Don?t mean to be nosey.

LDBLOND----Thank you so much for sharing Coach Joy?s thoughts with us. That was really great and just what I needed to hear. I printed it out and have it on my bulletin board above my desk and have a second copy in my food journal. I?m going to collect all sorts of good motivators and keep them with me at all times. Cross your fingers that it helps. How do you get these emails?

MAEMAE---Glad you like my jewelry. Do you have any crafting in your past or present? It sure keeps my hands busy at night so I don?t overfeed. LOL!!!! Hey, I am so sorry to hear about your friend. What a tragedy for all who knew and loved him? What will the 8-year old do? Is there another parent still around? I can?t imagine going through something so sad at such a young age. I hope there?s plenty of support for all the family. Good luck on the interview. I?ve missed all the details about it, but will still send up some prayers and good thoughts for you. Mine will probably be early though, because I?ll forget about that time difference.

DEB---Congrats for getting out there to beat the streets even when you didn?t want to. You are a moving maniac!!! Hey, I think your idea of a mixed recipe board is much better. Is that more work for you? I loved Pulp Fiction. John Travolta and Sam Jackson were both great in it. It?s really violent and there were parts that I had to look away in, but I thought it was so cleverly done. Uma was great too. Tell me what you think. I tried to take a close-up of the jewelry so you could see my precision wire wrapping, but the camera just wouldn?t cooperate. I am using 24 gauge half-hard sterling silver wire. The findings are sterling as well. I had purchased some other cheaper jump rings to try and learn how to do a byzantine chain. But they were so cheap, I hated the way they looked. I have a book that has excellent directions for making all sorts of chain patterns. My favorite is the byzantine. Anyways, I have to say that you are never satisfied! I am not about to MODEL anything with this flesh colored barrel underneath my clothing! When I get to 175 I will model something. You crack me up . . . asking me to get Paul to take a picture. No way, girlie girl. Not yet. I will drape them over my hand as that area hasn?t as of yet started to plump up. LOL. Speaking of pictures, I got copies of those Xmas party picks today and I made a sleeve in my food journal and am carrying them around in there. So whenever I get tempted to go HOG wild on something (Hog being the operative word.) I can quick grab those pics and get that brick of knowledge and reality right in the forehead as needed.

MUSIC---Just brush off those tortilla chip crumbs and get back on this wagon with all of us. It?s easy to blow it on the weekend. I sure have done it PLENTY of times myself. It does feel good to get to a Monday with no guilt. I think I?m going to shoot for that next Monday. Want to join me for a guilt-free Monday??????

DAWN----Thanks for reminding us about that groovy recipe. I need to get to wandering about those recipe pages. Sometimes I feel stuck in the kitchen rut.

JACK-K----Sounds like you all are no warmer than us. Isn?t it absolutely awful? This is the worst winter we?ve had in so long. I?m waiting for the pipes to start freezing. Have you had any of that yet? Our blazer started making funny noises today while I was out for lunch. Of course, it had to start while I was driving. Anyways, I?m wondering if something got so cold that it broke. DH isn?t sure what it is either. It?s the only vehicle that can get out of our sloped driveway, so I?m not sure what we?ll do tomorrow. Stay warm, friend. What were you doing at Churchill Downs. DH?s company designed some of the interactive stuff in their museum and Paul used to have to go down there to fix it every now and then. I?m wondering if they still have them for an account.

BOB----Yippee for the winners! I have never seen Chuckie with an actual full face smile before. I almost didn?t recognize them. BTW, their new uniforms are SOOOOOO much better than the old ones. I still can?t believe that Oakland didn?t even show up until the fourth quarter. What was that all about? The experts on ESPN always say that a great defense will beat an equally great offense every time. I guess they were right.

Okay, friends. Time to work on my new passion. I?ll catch you all later. I?m working on a cute little purple and silver necklace for one of my nieces. Her birthday is in February, so I want to get it done early and get it sent so she?ll have it in plenty of time.

Catch you on the flip side.

Hello my friends!

I am happy to report that I was sugar free today! I didn’t cheat once :D – you have no idea what an accomplishment that is for me lately! One day at a time….I think I can, I think I can……

QUILTER: Why not face the world in that robe! People may think you have lost it and give you a few days off!! Haha What’s with the ? marks throughout your post? Don’t have time in my day to journal but let me know what you think after a while.

TONI: I can’t believe that you have to have a 4 wheel drive just to get out of your house right now! Do the kids have school there when the weather is that bad?

GRACIOUS: Same question goes for you – what do the kids do about school when the snow is really bad?

DEB: Way to go with the walking. I am actually looking forward to some exercise – but I can’t do any until I get permission from the doc. I just find that I am much better on plan when I can exercise.

MAEMAE: Good luck on the interview – I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Well, I guess I’ll see you chicks tomorrow! I hope to have another great day!!!

I ran errands all day today. Well, not all day, since I climbed back in bed this morning and slept until 10! I stayed up talking to my son too late last night. I went to Harry's/Whole Foods. They still don't have agave there. I don't need it, but I always check. They sell Ak Mak 100% whole wheat crackers. They are pretty good. I by-passed the chocolate, since I did not want to be tempted. I did get my Wheat Montana so I can make bread. They have a grind your own flour machine, and the flour makes the best bread!

I made one of DEB's crustless cheesecakes yesterday, but played with the recipe and added two squares of unsweetened baking chocolate a 2 T of cocoa. It turned out pretty good. I had some for breakfast! ;)

GRACIOUS: Wow, you must have a lot of snow! I am hoping we get a snowfall this year. Of course, my daughter hopes it is on a week day, so she won't have to go to school. Here, just flurries sends 75% of the population into a tailspin. The stores sell out of bread, milk and beer. And when we get any accumulation of snow, everything closes! Its nuts! I grew up near Chicago, and couldn't believe it the first time it snowed when I was a freshman at UGA. Classes were cancelled, and I thought I would get to sleep in. Unfortunately, my southern hall mates viewed me as an expert on snowmen and snow forts, and snowball fights, and I was badgered into getting up and out to play! Last year, we had a good snowfall and my son, daughter and her then fiance' now husband, made a eight foot tall snow maiden in the front yard. It was incredible!

QUILTER: At a Chinese restaurant, you can stay legal if you pick something like soup, or a steamed entree. If you ask which of their entrees do not have a cornstarch thickened sauce, or sugar, they are usually very willing to help you find something you can eat. I ask them to leave the rice in the kitchen, and I usually pick something with little or no sauce. We like to go to China Town, and eat at the restaurants there. They have incredible soups that are definitely a meal in a bowl. Egg Foo Yung is a good choice for SB. Just ask for the gravy on the side. I have never been to PF Chang's. Do I need to check it out? :)

Hi!
Well, today went ok, but I know that I am not going to beat myself up for licking the icing from my fingers this morning by accident...I'll "lick" those habits by next Monday!:tape:

Debbie, I knew about this board from the SB sweet talk boards--that is where I originally got started, and got enough info to get a great start last time--got the book(s), and all was well. I remember having the link to this board and "visited" many times for recipes (yum! cheesecake--and others)--but it took me a while to "figure out all the symbols and how to post, register, etc. (its me, not the boards--by the time I get to the computer at night, I'm not at my sharpest)....anyway...when I decided that I simply could not gain anymore of this weight back, I went to the SweetTalk board again--but remembered the 3fc boards being so positive, and not at all...."argumentative"..???If that makes sense.

I originally started SB in July 2001, and by January 2002 I had the 25 pounds off--then I just hit a plateau. I wanted to lose another 10-15, but.....Of course I blame my demise on the Girl Scouts...in Feb and March when those D***cookies started showing up :nono:
Instead of doing better in the summer (when I was not working), I did not do what I should have, and slowly started gaining back. Last semester (I'm a teacher, can you tell?!) I kept saying I was going to start back, and the "last day before I would start back" I would eat doughnuts, brownies, FF, etc. like it was the last day I would ever have sugar again...NOT a healthy attitude, and I'm sad to say, I KNEW BETTER!!! So, here I am, down to a couple of pairs of "fat jeans" and not wanting to buy any more clothes--I can do it, I just need to have a healthy mind about it, and of course any encouragement thrown my way!!

Have a wonderful week!

Good Monday, everybody! Long time no post, and I feel awful about that. My computer has been down for about 2 weeks...I had a couple of brief moments that it was back up during that time, but it was gone as quick as it came.

I have turned into a couch potato this last week or so, and that is so UNLIKE me! I never watch TV. The Weather Channel is on more than anything. It has been colder than I ever remember it being here, and no pc, so I have been bundled up in blankies watching tv!

Today I had the day off and normally would have spent it catching up, but today was Suzanne's birthday and we spent the day doing sister-stuff. She wasn't too thrilled with another birthday so I forced her to have fun!!

Rob (dh) got my Gazelle built and we are fixing up an exercise room in the basement (affectionately known as the dungeon) so I will have a nice little set up by the end of the week. I love the Gazelle, and plan to be on it as soon as I wake up in the morning. Hopefully when it gets warmer I will have enough weight off that I won't be afraid to get on rollerblades. I think I could learn it - I never could roller skate, but the blades seem easier! If not, there's always bikes. I'm not missing another summer! I always manage to lose it to work or to my computer, but not this year. I've had a lot of time in the last two weeks to reflect on my life, and sunshine and fresh air are two things I don't get enough of. I don't have sunlight where I work, and I have been there the better part of all daylight hours for the last 14.5 years and that really sucks. I want windows and hot air that isn't my own.

Ok, it is getting late and if I want to be on the Gazelle in the morning, I better get moving. Goodnight!

A quick post-with houseguests I'm not finding the time to post and I'm falling behind again.
The pean crust I used for Deb's cheesecake is on one of the recipe board-but I can't remember exactly where. It used pecans, splenda and butter. It is very good and goes well with the cheesecake. I also made a strawberry topping with frozen strawberries and splenda--cooked the strawberries in a little bit of water, and put it through a strainer. It was very good!! I'll be back later.

Hello All! Yawn, yawn, yawn.

Whew, who wants to get up when it's so cold outside? Makes it a little difficult, but we must press on. We are no wimps, are we?

FRUIT---Great to hear from you! Congrats on being SBFREE yesterday. Keep it up, you know you can do it. I'm not sure what's going on with those question marks. I usually type my long posts in a program called Appleworks and then copy and paste into the reply box. I think tonight I'll try typing it in MSWord and see if that helps. Thanks for reminding me about that. Girl, you are too funny.

MONET---Thanks for the good tip on Chinese restaurants. I should have known you'd come to my rescue. Thanks a bunch. I don't know about PFChangs. I've been there twice. Here's my take. While the food is good, I think the down side is that it's way too expensive and they are sneaky and try to get other things on the table to charge you extra. Like yesterday, the waiter didn't tell us that the fried rice was extra. He just made it sound like it was a choice of either brown, white or fried rice. Then the others said they wanted fried rice. He brought TWO bowls and charged them 6.95 each. This has happened both times I've been there. Kind of smarmy if you ask me.

Oh, I'm late to get in the shower. Gotta fly.
Hugs to all. Is there a chat tonight?

Good Tuesday Morning!

Well, I just had to stop in and post this morning because I'm feeling sooooo good! I was down a few this morning - so I must have had some serious fluid in my body! But, that's not why I'm happy. I FEEL so much better today - energy, etc. I feel like I'm going to have another great day! The energy could come from the coffee - not decaf - which is what I usually have! haha! But anyway, just feeling great and wanting to share the happiness!!!! Y'all have a wonderful, sugarfree day!

Love ya

Good morning ladies! Tis a chippy one out there today at -34 windchill again. It is run from the house to the car then the car into the school weather for sure!!

I ate so well yesterday and was rewarded with 4 lbs of water loss from my buffet weekend. Now only 4 more lbs to go and with being in the middle of TOM I don't think it is too bad. Scary how that scale jumps up so fast but wonderful how it can go down so quickly too.

MOMOF3REDS- Yes, it does take awhile to get out of the habit of licking everything you make for the kids or tasting *just one* of everything you serve. I got out of the habit and am so glad because when you stop and think of the carbs, calories and fat that are consumed by just doing that throughout the day it is mind-boggling. Welcome to the board, btw...and you are right, the ladies here are helpful and don't get their undies in a knot if they don't agree with you. We are all different and we can revel in the difference rather than argue!

MONET- I actually remember you mentioning that huge snow maiden last year on the lcc board! Snow is fun for kids of all ages. I just wish we didn't have to drive so far in it, especially with our kids. But God is sovereign!

FRUIT- We keep our kids at home on really bad days. We have a very long drive to school because we send our kids to a private school in the city on the other side of the river..err, meaning, it is a long drive!! It is not worth the risk, that is for sure. Having said that though, they have only missed a couple of days because of the weather.

QUILTER- I know what you mean about being into your jewellery now. It is beautiful and when you find something so fun and nice to create you have to stick with it for awhile! My log cabin was made with greens on one side and pinks on the other. It is very nice and I am presently looking for a pattern to try full size.

JACK-K- Yes, you should try to find a good retreat to go to. They can be so much fun and if they are good they truly are spiritually uplifting. Last years was wonderful but this years was not near as good ministry wise. Hopefully next year they will get their act together!

MAEMAE- You should look around too. I realized that you have to *look* for good things to do because they don't always seem to be well advertised.

DEBELLI- I wish the arctic would keeps its cold winds too! But since it keeps sending us these chilling temperatures I just figure it is nice that we share with you Americans! ;)

Better get moving...have a great day.

TUESDAY TIPS

AT LAST! GOOD NEWS FOR EVERONYE STRUGGLING TO KEEP THE WEIGHT OFF...

If you're having a hard time keeping the weight off after you've lost it, take heart -- it DOES get easier. Scientists from the University of Pittsburgh report that the longer you can maintain your weight loss, the LESS effort it takes.

The research team, led by Dr. Mary Klem, issued questionnaires to a group of 319 men and women who had lost at least 30lb in weight and kept it off for over six years. Results showed that subjects used at least four of the following strategies for success:

8 out of 10 kept few high-fat foods in the house

8 out of 10 kept many healthy foods in the house

7 out of 10 bought books/magazines related to nutrition or exercise

7 out of 10 weighed themselves on a regular basis

4 out of 10 kept records of food intake or exercise

3 out of 10 reduced their visits to restaurants

2 out of 10 spent more time with friends who exercise

2 out of 10 kept a picture of themselves in a prominent place

1 out of 10 spent more time with "normal" weight friends

Subjects also reported burning an average of 2,427 calories each week, which shows just how important it is to keep exercising -- even when you reach your target weight.

WEIGHT MAINTENANCE GETS EASIER

The study showed that keeping the weight off requires less effort and less attention as time goes by. After all, the more often you repeat a behavior (such as exercising or eating right), the more likely it is to become a habit, becoming so automatic that you don't even need to think about doing it.

However, the temptation of high-fat foods DOESN'T go away. Subjects who had maintained their weight loss for 6 years or more got just as much pleasure from eating high-fat foods as those who had kept the weight off for 2-3 years.

One of the keys to losing weight is to find people who have done what you want to do, and simply copy them.

If you're having a hard time keeping the weight off, pick five of the methods listed above and use them on a daily basis. After all, success leaves clues. While everyone uses a slightly different approach to losing weight, using tested and proven strategies can only stack the odds in your favor.

Good morning everyone... Well I think tomorrow I should be able to get out of here. Yippee... I need to get some food in this house!!! I hate when you have to dig through stuff and hunt and think and worry etc. etc. what am I going to cook. One more nights salad left so its working out fine. Thats the bad thing about living in the country if you're trying to eat healthy is its along way to a decent grocery store. Let me tell you about ours in town LOL.... It really is a very tiny old fashioned store. One cart down the each isle is all that can fit. And theres only three short ones. So its only good in a pinch. I drive over an hour to do my regular shopping. Which is a super Wal-Mart. Oh well you have to live with stuff like this when you're out in the sticks.

Bob- How are you feeling?

The Quilter- Well you did the best you could in a bad food situation. Just let it go and don't dwell on it. I think journaling is the best!!! I really need to do that. Yes I watch Dr. Phil, doesn't everyone?? LOL... I also like Martha but they come on at the same time here so don't get to much anymore. Only when Dr. Phil is talking about something I'm not interested in. That food show you watch Kathleen D. sounds so good. I don't get that. I do watch daytime t.v. Also like to read and am trying a little bit of sewing on a blanket. But I have to tell you I'm not crazy about that. I did make dolls. Taking a vinyl one and fixing them up and selling them but haven't done that in a while.. Oh my gosh am I just walking through life doing nothing.. Ha Ha.. I seem to piddle allot..Love to garden a bit in the summer and plant flowers in the spring... Now about that bead shop... What a neat thing to find one so near you.... I love your jewlery. You may have to start selling it...

fruitloupe- I can't believe how powerful that statement was that you were Sugar Free. Congradulations!!! You're right one day at a time!!! Now for another day... When the weather is bad there is no school. When they start out the year they put so many snow days into account and hope they don't have to add to them because of a bad winter. Then the kids have to make up days. Its kind of like going back in time here. Population 600.

Monet-Please don't tell me you put chocolate in Debs cheesecake. Oh my gosh that sounds wonderful.... I'll have to never make that cause I could eat the whole thing... Its so good to be able to crawl back in bed somedays...

momof3reds-Didn't get to welcome you yet.... So heres a great big howdy. Welcome aboard......

Jennifer 3FC- Wow lucky you a gym in the basement... I would love that... And roller bladeing, fun fun fun.... Its great to look forward to it.. Anyone could turn into a couch potato in this freezeing weather we've all had.. Its supposed to warm up a tiny bit here. Sure hope so..

linworthlady- Hope all is going well with your houseguests... I don't know where that recipe is your looking for but anything with pecans, butter and splenda must be good..

Gracious- Brr, this weather is too much cold for me... Congrads. on that 4 lbs.... Way to go!!!!

Okay think I'll go start a pot of beans... Have a great day everyone, be back later...

Good Tuesday Morning Ladies

Hey we are having a heat wave today. Going to 45 :flame:
At least maybe all this snow and ice will melt. Last night when I got home,DH wanted to walk. I told him to go right ahead w/o me. It was 19 degrees. No way. I had been cold al lday from being the the track and never warmed up. So I did my Firm tape and worked out for 35 minutes. I'm sure tonight I will have to go with him unless it's raining.

Nothing going on with me,so on to you.

Toni, it is going to be 45 here today so maybe you all are getting some warmer weather too. Hope all that ice thaws soon so you can get out.

Quilter, I think I have less resistance to the cold since I have lost wt. I'm cold all the time now. Don't worry about your lunch. Like you said, it's one meal. Plus you didn't even eat too much. Most importanlty is keeping on track and going on. I got a good laugh reading about you carrying those pictures around in your journal. Hey whatever keeps you going. The company I work for (construaction) is doing the renovations to Churchill Downs. So I had to go out for a meeting. If Paul still has the Museum as an account, maybe you could come with him sometime and we could do lunch. No frozen pipes here yet. I'm surprised though since DH keeps the house so cold. I hope to be a chat tonight.

Fruit, Congrats on your SF day. I know you can, I know you can. I am so happy that you are so happy today. You are contagious. Have a great SF day.

Monet, I really like to Ak-Mak crackers too. Something different from triscuits. Now you hush about getting snow. It's time for Spring! :flower2:

Momof3reds, sounds like you are a veteran to this WOE. You have come to the right place for encouragement and support. You did this before so you know you can do it again. This time it will be more fun. Good luck. :lucky:

Jennifer, Sounds like you are ready to tackle that exercise. Good for you. You are so right about not getting enough fresh air and sunshine. It sure does improve your mood (not yours -everyones'). Hope you can keep posting.

Gracious, Yeah for losing those 4 lbs of water wt. I wish I could do that this week.

Deb, Thanks for info on maintaing. I hope to be doing that soon and I already do 5 of those things so I hope I'm on the right track. I refuse to put this wt back on. :s:

Have a great day. Be back later.

Good Tuesday Morning All:wave:

Was working a bit on the new quarterly recipe board and posted a few recipes. I think this way is going to work out better in the long run. Do you think we should leave the boards as they are now, with the categorized boards at the top and the quarterly (and old boards) at the bottom, or, should we create a new category for the quarterly boards that would be at the top of all the categorized boards? If the later, what should we title this board. ANY INPUT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!!

PLEASE POST ALL RECIPES FROM HERE ON ON THE QUARTERLY BOARDS

Have to go to Broward with my DM tomorrow. Parents finally bought a new car. The old one is still running, but I think it's 12 years old now and Mom finally decided she was over-due. So, tomorrow I have to drive her up there to get her new baby. I think she may just save the old one for the kids to drive, though that's not going to be happening any time soon, it may just fall apart from non-use in her driveway. My DD hates driving so he has no interest in driving it unless he has to get somewhere and my DM isn't around.

Eating is doing fabulous, but my goals of drinking more water are not. I take the darned bottle with me everywhere but just have no desire to drink a sip from it. Going to try to do better today!

MUSIC, glad to see you're back on track, not a big mess up and you probably won't see any effects from it since you did get right back on track. Wish I had the secret of being able to do that!

MAE, let us know how it goes today! GOOD LUCK!!! Pictures? I don't remember ever getting any. If you e-mailed them to me and I didn't recognize the e-mail address then I can tell you they got deleted. Can you resend them and put in the subject area SB? Will be more than happy to post them if I can. Love putting a name and face together! I'm so sorry to hear about your friends passing, esp. when there's a small child involved.

DAWN, thanks for the heads up about that good recipe. Many times we don't know what recipes are worth trying if people don't mention that they tried them and liked them.

JACKK, since being on SB I've spent triple the hours at the library than I have in my entire life. I find if there's a recipe book I see on Ebay or Half that I'll try to see in the library has it first to see if I like it before buying it. THEN when I found out they had videos, well, that had me there even more. They are now getting more DVD'S in. Down here, it's free for 7 days and you can renew them as long as there's not another person requesting that title. Sure can't beat the price! Recipe boards...it is more work, esp. since I still haven't done all I need to do with the boards as is, BUT, I think in the long run, this will be best. I was thinking if I could have a RECIPE BOARD MONITOR it would really be helpful as well. If I could get one person each quarter to copy the recipes that have been posted and put them in the correct category, it would be great. Still deciding... What you said about jumping back on track and being habit, of course it made sense, I just have to figure out how to make it stick with me! I don't see for me that it gets better when I do go off plan, but worse. I have to figure out why, maybe then I can go off plan for a meal and get back on, but right now, I still don't know how.

TONI, had the same for dinner down here, minus the cheese. ELI made fattoush, a Lebanese salad. What brand are the buns from the HFS, wondering if they are a national brand. Would love to see a pic of you, and the surroundings - get that camera out and say "CHEESE!!!!"

QUILTER, LOL, can't comment much on the Chinese food. We have a PFCHANGS here and I've never been. I don't eat Chinese any more, the closet I will do is Thai food and that's very once in a purple moon! You know I'm a definite believer in journaling! I only do my food, but I do journal thoughts from time-to-time as well. Many people believe it helps to write down your feelings as you might find a pattern to see what triggers your eating and thus be able to deal with those conflicts better when they arise. What got you in to the jewelry? Sounds like you've really gotten the lingo down. The stuff I have is more for solid pieces, like pins and flat earrings, not much that could be hung from necklaces, and the like. Who knows, one day, you may just be making jewelry for the STARS!!!! If I lived closer, I'd definitely be doing it with you!!! ELI says since I lost weight that I'm always cold. If you're cold now, with the weight off, you'll definitely be colder, but hey, there are worse things in life AND you can put layers of clothes on to keep you warm. Here's a post I found on another website:

There are several reasons you may feel colder due to dieting and weight loss.

If you’ve lost weight, realize that you have less “insulation” (body fat) now. People who are overweight tend to feel the cold less than lean people. (People often notice feeling "too hot" when they gain weight.) Overweight people are often the ones turning on the air conditioning when the lean people are turning on the heater!

During Weight Loss, you experience a natural decrease in metabolism due to the reduced amount of calories you’re consuming. It’s like putting less fuel in the furnace – all those calories you used to eat were added fuel that increased body temperature! Your metabolism will increase when you’re on Lifetime Maintenance and consuming more calories.

Some people experience the opposite: they feel warmer during certain times of the program because their metabolism actually increases for a period of time because of the foods they’re eating (protein) and the regularity of food intake (three meals, three snacks). People who did not eat full, regular meals prior to the program may have lowered their metabolism with that type of eating.

Weight loss and dieting can cause a change in hormone levels. Because a small amount of estrogen is produced in fatty tissue, some individuals may experience hormonal changes when they lose weight. This is normal. The hormonal changes can affect your body temperature.

Also, people who have high blood pressure due to being overweight tend to feel warmer than they would with a normal blood pressure. When their blood pressure lowers as a result of their change in eating habits and weight loss they may feel colder.

Physical activity increases the metabolism and gets your “internal furnace” burning. You’ll probably find you’re less cold when you increase your daily physical activity level. Give it a try – it will benefit your weight and your mental well-being and your general health whether or not it makes a significant difference in your body temperature!

Your body will adapt once your weight stabilizes after achieving your goal and you’ll probably feel less cold then than you do now. You won’t have as much fat, however, so you’ll experience temperature differently than you did previously. Keep in mind that your experience when you’re a healthy, normal weight will be the “normal” one!

So for now, "bundle up", "move more" and keep moving toward your lean weight goal!

Best wishes for lean and healthy success!

FRUIT, you go girl! Great going on staying OP. Don't worry about day-to-day, take it hour-by-hour and it will add up! It's so good to see your positive attitude and exhilaration in your post this morning, all from being OP and thinking positive! Just imagine how you feel will reflect upon the kids you teach every day!!!!!

MONET, cheesecake for breakfast - you are my type of gal!:D

MOM, don't worry about licking the digets, you didn't mean to and I think we all do that without thinking many times. I do understand about what you mean about the ST BOARDS being "argumentative", many people say the same thing. I don't go over there much, our board keeps me VERY busy as is, but I think the problem over there is, people go on SB and after a brief time, they think they are "experts" and give out much false information and then battle it out with the people who think they know more. That's just my thinking. Anyway, we are happy you finally joined us!:D Sounds like you are back on track now, so don't look back at what was, just look forward to what's coming. BTW, we have quite a few teachers on the board, so you're in good company. When you get a chance, please post your BIO on the BIO BOARD so we can learn a bit more about you. You can, of course, spill the beans here as well;)

JENNIFER, glad to see you back, was wondering where you went off to! Glad to hear you and SUZANNE had a day together for her bday. I didn't know it was yesterday, will have to send her a greeting. How old pray tell, is she (about). What the heck is the GAZALLE, sure does sound like a device to be in the Dungeon! LOL! Good luck with the roller blades. I can't skate on 4 wheeled regular skates, I sure as heck can't stand up on in-line skates.

GRACIOUS, woo hoo, 4lbs! Awesome! Are you sure you aren't shaking those pounds off from shivering as well? Geez, that's beyond cold!

Well gals, I'm outta here. I have some stuff to get done before getting the kids today.

PLEASE REMEMBER TONIGHT IS CHAT AT 9:15PM I do plan on being there and will give notice to Michael and Lauren ahead of time. To get to the CHAT ROOM just click the CHAT LINK at the top of the page, or you can use the link below:

Do remember, TOMORROW IS WEIGH IN WEDNESDAY!!!! I wish you all good luck with the metal monster.

A general guideline to servings:

Fats, Sweets, and Alcohol: These foods need to be eaten in small quantities because they are high in calories. The best fat choices are olive and canola oil and liquid or low-fat tub margarine. Try to avoid stick margarine, butter and lard. A serving of fat is 1 teaspoon. It has 45 calories and 5 grams of fat. Sweets often have fat and carbohydrate. Alcohol can raise or lower blood sugar, depending on what type you drink. Discuss alcohol use with your physician.

Milk and Yogurt (2-3 servings a day): a serving has 12 grams of carbohydrate and 8 grams of protein. Low-fat and fat-free choices have about 100 calories and little fat. Healthy choices include skim milk and low-fat yogurt made with artificial sweetener.

Meat, Fish, and Cheese (2 -3 servings a day): a serving has 21 grams of protein and no carbohydrate. Lean and very lean choices have the least fat and the fewest calories. Healthy, low-fat choices include baked or broiled fish, white meat of turkey or chicken, lean red meat or pork (look for the words "loin" or "round in the name - e.g. sirloin, tenderloin, round steak, pork tenderloin), reduced-fat or fat-free cheese or cottage cheese.

Vegetables (3-5 servings a day): A serving has 5 grams of carbohydrate, about 25 calories, and no fat. Healthy, low-fat choices include fresh or frozen vegetables without sauce, butter, margarine or cheese. May steam in water with a little olive oil and top with a squeeze of fresh lemon and pepper.

Fruits (2-4 servings a day): A serving has 15 grams of carbohydrate, about 60 calories, and no fat. Healthy choices include whole fresh fruits or canned fruits with no sugar added.

Grains, Beans, and Starchy Vegetables (6 or more servings a day): A serving has 15 grams of carbohydrate, 3 grams of protein, and about 80 calories. Most have no more than 1 gram of fat. Healthy choices include whole-grain breads and high fiber cereals, tortillas, oatmeal, bulgur, brown rice, dried beans, lentils, peas, yams, acorn or butternut squash, pumpkin.

Morning all! Yes, it is finally warming up here too--we may actually hit the 50s today!!!!! I am soooooo not a winter person.:(

Maemae--good luck on the interview! I'll keep a good thought for you!

Deb--I'm partial to the food board being done in categories myself--and have posted recipies recently. I have some old ones that I posted a long time ago that I would be willing to repost if necessary. Good for you getting out to walk/run today! I'm headed to the gym as soon as I finish posting this.

Missy--glad you have had a great couple of days! keep it up!

Gracious--woooohoooo on shedding the water weight!

Jennifer--glad to see you back on the board--always feel so disconnected from the world when the computer is down!

Kim--I do seminars, but not on organization. If you could see my office you'd know why! I'm still working on the getting everything organized part--but you are right--that's the toughest part, but very very crucial!

BOB--sounds like you are getting back to your sassy self!

Got to go now--I hope everyone has a great day!

Susan

ps--I've not mentioned anything about my weight this week because I don't even get on the scale when TOM is here. I'll venture back in the next day or two!

Mornin’ y’all. Well, it’s morning as I begin this, but it will probably be afternoon by the time I finish. Eating was back on track yesterday and I’ve already gotten in my two miles today so maybe the scales will start to go down.

QUILTER: Loved the jewelry. It’s beautiful. I’m all for being guilt free on Monday. I’m workin’ on it.:crossed:

GRACIOUS: I’m glad it’s you with the snow and not me. This TEXAN likes warm weather. I know what you mean about some of the praise and worship music. It’s not very worshipful for me. I prefer Phillips, Craig and Dean and the like. So you’ve been bitten by the quilting bug, huh? It’s fun, isn’t it? I love it. I’m working on a Texas flag quilt. A friend asked me how I had time to quilt with three kids. I told her that it’s easy. I just neglect my family!

MOMOF3REDS: Welcome aboard. What do you teach? I’m an elementary music teacher. It’s great. No state tests for me.:D

HI JENNIFER! Get off the couch!:drill:

TONI: Like I told Gracious, I like my weather WARM. Hope you can get out of the house soon. I would definitely have cabin fever.:dizzy:

DEBBIE: Getting back on track has been easier this time than in the past. I think the walking is helping with my attitude. I wish I would hurry and see some results in the rear end department tho.:dz:

MAEMAE: How did the interview go?

FILISSE: I know what you mean about that winter weather. It’s in the 50’s here today, but rainy. I’m ready for 70’s and 80’s.

Guess I better go. It’s time for kiddos to come to class.

Well, this is the second time around to try and get a post done today. I keep getting interrupted, at work, imagine that. I had a terrific week-end. Went to dinner Friday night with friends, and had roasted eggplant with crawfish on top. Sounds awful, I know but it was really yummy. Probably pretty close to legal, no breading on the eggplant, although the sauce probably had too much heavy cream.

Saturday, we had dinner with Jordan's girlfriend's family. Looks like we're all going on vacation together. To be honest, I'm not sure how I feel about this, but I think it will be alright. We're going to rent a cabin in the Ozarks in Northern Arkansas and just do the nature time thing. The place has horses, fishing, hiking, etc. Should be fun and definitely not too expensive. His girlfriend is an only child and a senior also. I think her parents are getting a little antsy about her leaving. I'm really going to have a tough time of it with Jordan going to the Marines, but at least I still have one guy at home.

Quilter - I'm with you on P.F. Changs. They're OK, but I think they're overpriced for what they are. I do like the lettuce wraps though.

Fillise - I know exactly what you mean about getting on the scale with TOM. I know I'm up, I feel so bloated, so I'm not going to make myself crazy.

Missy - Yippee for you!! Do you have our New Orleans get together planned yet? Get busy, girl! I know you don't have anything else to do.

Musicteach - What is a music aptitude test? Seth starts middle school next year and of course band is one of the things he wants to do. He wants to do percussion and you have to score an 85 or better on the test but he doesn't even remember taking the test. He was going to talk to the music teacher today, so we'll see what she says.

Maemae - This is me crossing my fingers and toes for your interview!!!

Debbie - See my note to Fillise. We're not weighing this week. We're revolting against the one-eyed monster.

Jack-K - Stay warm girl. How are your Cats doing basketball wise? The Horns moved up to #3 in the polls and promptly lost last night. Oh, well. We play Oklahoma State on Saturday. They're unbeaten in the conference so it should be a great game.

Toni - Are you thawing out any up there? By the way, I looked up your area on the internet and it looks beautiful. I'm hoping we can get up to your neck of the woods when we're in Arkansas. From the map, it doesn't look like you're all that far.

Better run. I know I missed some of you, I'll try to catch up later. Have a great day, everyone!

Monet--My DH was just up there in Atlanta for Monday and flew back today. He called and said it was betterly cold up there and that I would have been happy to be here at home.
Which I was, as it is rather nice--in the high 60s low 70s out there.

Jennifer, nice to see you back. I was wondering if it was something we said . . . LOL
I agree about how wonderful the outdoors is.

Linworth--I bet the strawberry glaze is great. It would be super over the cheesecake that is topped with sliced berries arranged in a beautiful pattern. Raspberries would be equally as good.

Quilter--Re. the question marks--it probably is how some keys transpose over into the form used on the SB page. I occasionally type a degree symbol, as in 375 degrees F, for a cake recipe, say. But when I hit the option and "k" key, like this, ?, it turns into a question mark on the board. It looks fine on the reply page, but a question mark on the display page.
I agree about PFChangs. Not like a regular chinese restaurant, which is a ton cheaper.

My DD wants to start walking more seriously and will be coming over at least one day a week to walk with me after she gets off from work. We will probably do 3 miles this evening if it doesn?t get too dark or too cold. I love daylight savings time because I can seem to get so much more done. My DD used to be a power walker, but now she thinks 3 miles is a lot!!

I will be very busy the rest of the week. Will try to post but no guarantees. The big conference starts this Sat. and I have lots of stuff to handle. Then, we also have 2 houseguests staying here through Wed. They are the speakers for the conference. Sat. night dinner is Spanish food, that I think is not SB legal.. Should be interesting.

BOB, hope you are feeling better now. We were so happy to see the TB Bucs win.

Hey All:wave:

Thought I'd hop on and get in a quick post. Picked up Michael and have to go back for Lauren at 4:30pm-love when she tells me at the last minute she needs to stay after school!

I keep forgetting to mention something...Now that I'm really watching portions, it truly amazed me to see what an actual serving of an apple was! SHOCKING! Would you believe, a serving is approx. only 3.6 ounces. Now, for those of you who have a food scale and an apple handy, go see just how much this really is! It's not much at all!!!

MAE, soooo, how'd the interview go? Will be asking Michael, when he gets a change, how to manipulate those pictures you sent so I can get them uploaded on to the website-please be patient with me:^:

FILLISE, I think doing it both ways will make everyone happy:D Ummmm, I didn't walk today - now you've made me feel guilty!! WAAAAHHHH!!! ;)

MUSIC, hmmm, wish walking had that same effect on me, but unfortunately, it doesn't.

TRISH, crawfish AND eggplant - hmmm, interesting:chin: When are you planning this Ozark vacation? Sounds fun! Just make sure you put Miami on your list of future vacations, would you? Girl, I'm with you on not weighing, I'm definitely feeling bloated and besides, I'm not suppose to weigh in til the 22nd of next month - and if anyone thinks I can stay off that scale that long:s:

Once again, a reminder
TONIGHT IS CHAT AT 9:15PM EST!!! Already told Michael I needed the computer at that time!!!! Until then, my arse will be glued to the couch watching AMERICAN IDOL!!!

Hello everyone.....

Well the interview went WONDERFUL (i think)...When I got back the lady that I had interviewed with had already called my supervisor (she wasn't in her office)...So they played phone tag and finally talked. They haven't made me an offer yet but she did ask if I were able to be let go to start on the 10th of Feb.....

I am going to keep a positive outlook and hope for the best. They seemed like a wonderful group of people to work with.

I'll keep ya'll posted....And thanks for the PRAYERS....Hopefully they were heard...

I posted this question last Sunday and didn't get an answer so I'll try again.

I have a questions for all you Alabama girls. We were watching the UL-Al game last nite and everyone wondered why the mascott is an elephant. What does that have to do with Crimson Tide?? I told them I would find out. I knew I had some inside sources.

Bob you probably know too.

Thanks Jackie

Hello all!

Boy, you miss Monday and you're really screwed trying to keep up with everyone! I've skimmed the previous posts but not very well! Tonight I should be able to post to all you lovely ladies and hopefully join chat also.

Work's gone a bit crazy this week. We have our quarterly business meeting on Wednesday night, so everyone's in a tizzy trying to get ready.

I've been eating rather well. I'll be eating VERY well once I've had some time to sit down and plan!

Must run... See you tonight in chat.

Boy am I ready to call it a day. It has been busy all day. Looks like the warm temps have melted all the snow so I guess DH will be wanting to walk tonight.

Toni, We mut have been posting at the same time. Man you do live in the country. I guess your little town store is like a convenient or mini mart to us. I would hate to drive that far to the grocery. But I guess it's what you get used to.

Deb, Have you tried putting a lemon in your water. I use a big cup full of ice and squeeze a lemon in it and use a straw. Ice and a straw really help too. But the lemon makes all the difference in the world. Thanks for the info on servings. I'm writing them down and checking averything. Just checked out my yogurt I just finished and it has 9 proteins and 15 carbs & 100 cals. Gosh the apples I have been buying are huge. I knew they were going to be 2 servings, but I bet they are more.

Maemae, WTG on getting the job. I knew you would. Go celebrate with a legal meal.

Fillise, good for you going to the gym. Glad you al are warmer too.

Music, good for you being on track and getting your exercise in. The scale will have to move now. If you want help in the rear end dept, I do wall squats (actually I do them on a door), but they really helped my rear.

Trish sounds like a great weekend. I don't know how I would feel about vacation with son's girlfriend's parents. I pray for yu sending you son off to the Marines. I would be miserable. Heck my DD is only an hour away at college and I have trouble with that. My CATS are ranked 7th or 8th. On a 9 game winning streak and haven't lost in conference play, yet. We have Florida and Ga coming up. That TX-OK should be a good game.

Gator, have fun walking with your DD. It is always fun to have someone to walk with. It sure goes quicker. Good luck on your conference.

Mom2Marsh, I have said all along that the secret to this WOE is planning and being prepared. Good job on your eating.

Hope to be at chat tonight. Hope the scale is good to everyone tomorrow including me. :s:

Jack-K--Let a Gator 'splain it to ya.
The elephant became a symbol for Alabama as early as 1930. The newspaper described the team as powerful "elephants" and the name stuck. Today, "Big Al," as he is commopnly referred to, makes an appearance at every game and is known well for the swing of his trunk.
Actually, I think they should dump the elephant. An elephant is not know for its brains, I don't think, and they are afraid of tiny mice. The Crimson Tide sounds much better, in my opinion. In their glory days, they rolled down the field like a crimson tide!

Well, my husband just called and my "darling" 11 y/o son broke a window out of one of his friend's home. They were horsing around and Seth put his hand through the window. I know I should probably be mad at him, but he was so upset that the mother was "disappointed" in them. Oh, well. Life goes on, I guess.

I forgot to mention that this week-end I finally found a store here that carries agave for $4.29 a bottle. I'm so excited!

Jackie--just popped in and saw your question about Bama's mascot. I meant to answer the first time you asked it.

Here goes.

From the UA website--The name "Crimson Tide" is supposed to have first been used by Hugh Roberts, former sports editor of the Birmingham Age-Herald. He used "Crimson Tide" in describing an Alabama-Auburn game played in Birmingham in 1907, the last football contest between the two schools until 1948 when the series was resumed. The game was played in a sea of mud and Auburn was a heavy favorite to win.

But, evidently, the "Thin Red Line" played a great game in the red mud and held Auburn to a 6-6 tie, thus gaining the name "Crimson Tide." Zipp Newman, former sports editor of the Birmingham News, probably popularized the name more than any other writer.

The Elephant (mascot is known as "Big AL")--again from the UA website: The story of how Alabama became associated with the "elephant" goes back to the 1930 season when Coach Wallace Wade had assembled a great football team.

On October 8, 1930, sports writer Everett Strupper of the Atlanta Journal wrote a story of the Alabama-Mississippi game he had witnessed in Tuscaloosa four days earlier. Strupper wrote, "That Alabama team of 1930 is a typical Wade machine, powerful, big, tough, fast, aggressive, well-schooled in fundamentals, and the best blocking team for this early in the season that I have ever seen. When those big brutes hit you I mean you go down and stay down, often for an additional two minutes.

"Coach Wade started his second team that was plenty big and they went right to their knitting scoring a touchdown in the first quarter against one of the best fighting small lines that I have seen. For Ole Miss was truly battling the big boys for every inch of ground.

"At the end of the quarter, the earth started to tremble, there was a distant rumble that continued to grow. Some excited fan in the stands bellowed, 'Hold your horses, the elephants are coming,' and out stamped this Alabama varsity.

"It was the first time that I had seen it and the size of the entire eleven nearly knocked me cold, men that I had seen play last year looking like they had nearly doubled in size."

Strupper and other writers continued to refer to the Alabama linemen as "Red Elephants," the color referring to the crimson jerseys.

Ok, so it still makes no sense--but I have to admit that we in Alabama are not big on making sense with what we call our football teams. After all here at Auburn, we are the Tigers, we scream "War Eagle!" and our mascot is a Golden Eagle named "Tiger." Well, actually it was announced this week that Tiger is retiring. Our new mascot is a Bald Eagle named Spirit. Got that?

JACKK, wish I could answer your question but you know I have no clue about the elephant! Seems GATOR does though! For some reason, I don't like drinking out of glasses, unless I'm at a restaurant. I drink from a 1.5liter bottle. I've tried just about everything, I just don't think about drinking even when it's right in front of me and I KNOW that I'm dehydrated big time, you'd think I'd be gulping it down, but I'm not:nono: I just have to keep on trying.

MOM, see you at chat!

TRISH, well, you didn't say SETH was hurt, no cuts, so that's good. It was an accident, they happen-he sure didn't mean to do it. Not a bad price on the agave!

Yippee, it worked! Well, that was easy. MUCH easier than my afternoon. I went to the post office to have our newsletters mailed. Well, I know nothing about this standard non-profit mailing rate. But one of the women over there told me to come at a certain time and she'd help me. I got there with all 1300 pieces of my mailing and she was out to lunch. Well, it just went south from there. One nice man helped a lot. I did have everything in zip code order which helped a lot. So we got everything in the proper tray and he told me what to calculate and how to fill out the form. Then we got up to the counter to pay and the woman said your account is inactive! Oh please! We had just paid the $150 in late December so we'd be ready when the newsletter was done. They couldn't find any record of our payment. They weren't going to accept the mailing and my boss is standing there ready to lose it at any minute. Thank goodness, she called our bookkeeper who quick faxed our receipt over to the post office. Whew! Anyways, we ended up being there for 1.5 hours trying to get this all taken care of. Please know that I'm not saying anything bad about the postal service. Their job is very difficult. It was just so frustrating that one person hadn't recorded the payment where it should have been and that was putting a real stoppage to what we wanted.

Needless to say I was so stressed by the time this was all over, my first thoughts were "what am I going to stuff down my throat?" Isn't that amazing how we just automatically turn to food. Well, I went back to the office and ate my lunch (exactly what I'd brought with no supplements of illegal proportion). I'm still kind of irritable from all that, but it's fading fast. I wrote a whole bunch of stuff in my journal tonight about how being obese makes me feel and how losing weight makes me feel. That helped my mood immensely.

Okay, response time:

LIN----Hey, thanks for telling me where to find the pecan recipe. That sounds so yummy! I can't wait to try it. But I think I'll wait for a while, since I'm just now back up on the wagon. I should probably hold off for a bit.

FRUIT----You are sounding so GREAT!!! That's cool. I'm glad you are feeling better. Isn't weird how different days bring different feelings? So glad you are on the upswing of happiness and on the downswing of the scales. Get rid of that nasty old retained water! I'll be starting any day now and I'm feeling quite puffy.

GRACIOUS---Hey, girl! Congrats on the FOUR POUND LOSS!!! Fantastic! You are doing great! Perhaps your weekend helped. I love pinks and greens together. They are a perfect compliment. How big is your square? Big enough to do something with? Like make a pillow? Have you seen those miniature quilts? They are incredible. They actually give me a headache because I can't even imagine working on them. The best quilting book I have is called The New Sampler Quilt by Diana Leone. It's got every square you can imagine in it with really great instructions. When I was taking lessons five years ago, the teacher recommended that book to us.

DEB---I loved that article about maintaining weight. That reminds me of what LDBLOND sent yesterday that said you should ONLY snack on fruits and veggies. Can't do that if you don't have any in your house. What kind of car is your mom going to buy? Something sporty? Paul's niece is very artistic. She and I visited the one bead shop one day and when I found out they offered classes, I kind of got excited. I've always wanted to try it. I need a craft that gives me instant gratification and isn't very messy. That's one thing about quilting. I would have the entire upstairs all torn up when I was trying to sew. This jewelry fits nicely on my desk. My bead collection is growing steadily. Paul found me a nice plastic case with adjustable compartments to keep organized. So it's working nicely. I'm almost finished with a necklace I started last night. The SB board postings cut into my craft time, but that's no problem. You are right that being thin and piling on clothes is a lot easier way to solve that problem. I don't like to do too much layering of sweaters now, because I don't need to add dimension. That's for sure. LOL Thanks for adding the article. Makes sense to me.

TONI---Boy, you really are out in the country! Driving over an hour is really a time commitment for you. I'll bet you are really organized and make every advantage of those long trips to the big store. I loved your description of your tiny store in town. Sounds like something from another generation. Around here, most of the small places have been overtaken by the huge mega grocery chains. You are funny. Yes, I guess everybody is watching Dr. Phil. I hope they are, because I want him to stay on the air. I should tape him, but I don't like to commit all those evening hours to catching up on the day's shows. DH and I have been trying to only turn on the tv when it's a show we want to watch. Like tonight, we are just working at our desks and listening to music. It's much more peaceful that way. But I could be a real tv addict without much help. I like the daytime tv more than the evening stuff. I love all those decorating shows and some of the craft stuff on HGTV. Do you have that station or the Discovery Channel. Christopher Lowell is my favorite. I've been watching him for years. I'm glad you like my jewelry. I can't imagine anybody wanting to buy it. I'll just keep making stuff and either wearing it or giving it away. I told my boss I could loan her and some of the other girls pieces to wear with their friends for advertising. Kind of like breathing billboards! LOL

JACK-K----I thought the thin people were probably freezing their teeny booties off. Thanks for that confirmation. One reason my thermostat is all screwed up is because my thyroid is almost all gone. I didnt' know how much that gland did until mine left. Anyways, I would rather be thin and cold than this size and sweaty. Ha!!! DH says he only went to Churchill Downs once (I thought it was more than that.) and they finished their work with them. So that won't work for a meeting. But L'ville isn't that far. We could always plan something. Perhaps after your big wedding when life slows down to normal. Will it every slow down to normal for you? Do you all go to Kentucky Kingdom? My DH is a huge rollercoaster fan. He'd love to get down there to ride them.

MAEMAE---Congrats!!!!!!! Awesome job!!!!!!! Way to go!!!!!!!! I'm so happy that you took a leap and it paid off for you. How exciting! Be sure and fill us in on all the details.

FILLISE---I guess we all have our little areas of disorganization. I'm blessed with more than others. Ha! We just seem to get one rooom straightened up and that messes up another. It's a vicious cycle. However, DH and I are both in a monstrous purging mood. So that is helping right now. We must strike while the iron is HOT! This mood may not last long. How is Miss Belle? You haven't mentioned her lately.

MUSIC----Okay, it's a deal. You and me will wake up TOTALLY GUILT FREE on Monday. Because we will rule our weekend and not the other way around. Does that sound like a plan??? Thanks for taking a peak at the handiwork. You're sweet.

TRISH----Here's the SF icing on the cake with PF Changs. I called them today to see if they would like to donate a gift certificate to our upcoming fundraiser event in March. The manager said that donations like that went against their corporate policies. I said, "So you don't give back to the community?" She said, "No." I wanted to say, "Oh and you're okay with that?" What I did say was, "Well, what do you suggest?" I'll dump the responsibility right back into her lap. She finally caved and said that if we came in with a letter, we could possibly get a manager to give a small gift certificate. YUCK!!! That did it for me. I will NEVER go back there. I can't stand places that don't give back to the community. Don't get me wrong . . . there are plenty of places who don't give to us, but they do give to some sort of charity. And that's great! But to just make a blanket statement saying we don't do that. No way. Hey, was DS hurt in the window incident? I sure hope not. He sounds like a sweetie being all upset that he upset the other mom. What a cutie. Those things happen especially when you are young and you have all this excess energy and your arms and legs are always flying every which way.

GATOR----Thanks again for the suggestions for my typing weirdnesses. That really got me to thinking. We Mac girls must stick together. I think it's great that your daughter has committed to walking with you. How great for you both. And you will get some really good quality time together while you're out there pounding the pavement. Cool! I'm glad you have outside walking weather. It's a tadbit on the FREEZING side here to even think of that. There are some real diehards who are still out there every day. But I am nowhere near that level of commitment. Do you walk outside all summer long, when it gets unbearable down there? Is that a problem for you?

Okay, that's it for me. I'm going to quick get in my jammies before trying to get on the chat. Hopefully we'll have a good turnout tonight.
Catch you later.

HiedieHo All!

Have a few minutes before going to NH. Was awake most of night as GD was sick. At first she was so bad, she couldn't breathe and we called ambulance. By time it arrived she had thrown up a great deal more, that apparently relieved the pressure enough she could breathe again. After being checked out by EMTs, she didn't want to go to hospital. DIL of course was up all night with her as she con't to throw up, so she did not go to work. I took some stuff to the office for her this a.m. Right now she has GD to Doctor. They said bring her in ASAP. I'm pooped too as the bathroom is next to my room, I also would check from time to time.

FILLISE: Hope your achy feelings were from the end of a long day and that you are not coming down with something.

3REDS: Welcome

Have to go will check in later.

Okay! I started this on early Monday morning, this weeks board wasn't even up yet. Last night I finished it and you guessed it! There was a flicker and I lost it. Started things up again and found this part but not the new part. I was pooped so gave it up. So try, try again!

Doctor gave GD a shot that was supposed to stop the vomiting. Said he felt she had food poisoning from a dairy product. She and DIL compared notes and GD had cream cheeses that no one else had. She had opened a fresh package and it was dated okay. At any rate, shot did not work, so doctor ordered Phenegren suppositories, if they didn't work it would have been off to the ER. After a couple of applications they did finally work. I can tell she she is one weak kitten today.

QUILT: Will check out your pics.

DEB: We don't amaze ourselves. We do want has to be done as best we can. Although I often feel the best is not good enough anymore. I get so annoyed that I can't do this or that anymore.

Im' posting this now so I don't lose it

HiedieHo All!

3REDS: Don't beieve I said welcome.

MAE: Sorry about your friend, How did intyerbview go? Just read further along, HOORAY for you! What a cute pic you and kids are adorable!

To all who questioned and answered. Loved learning about the elephant!

I'm so far behind and achy I am not responding as I should but did read. I will tell you this.......

A KEEPER : Some things you keep. Like good teeth. Warm coats. Bald _husbands. They're good for you, reliable and _practical and so sublime that to throw them away would make the _garbage man a thief. So you hang on, because something _old is sometimes better than something new, and what you know is often better than a stranger.

These are my _thoughts, they make me sound old, old and tame, and dull at a time when everybody else is risky and racy and __flashing all that's new and improved in their lives. New careers, new thighs, new lips, new cars. The world is dizzy with _trade-ins. I could keep track, but I don't think I want to.

I grew up with practical parents - a mother, God bless __her, who washed aluminum foil after she cooked in it, then _reused it -and still does. A father who was happier getting old shoes fixed than buying new ones.

They weren't _poor, my parents, they were just satisfied. Their marriage was good, their dreams focused. Their best friends lived _barely a wave away.

I can see them now, Dad in trousers and tee shirt and Mom in a house
dress, lawn mower in _his hand, dishtowel in hers. It was a time for fixing
things - a curtain rod, the kitchen radio, screen door, the oven _door, the
hem in a dress. Things you keep. It was a _way of life, and sometimes it
made me crazy. All that_re-fixing, reheating, renewing, I wanted just once to be wasteful. Waste meant affluence. Throwing things away meant there'd always be more.

But then my father died, and on that clear autumn night, in the chill of the
hospital _room, I was struck with the pain of learning that sometimes there isn't any 'more.' Sometimes what you care about most _gets all used up and goes away, never to return.

So, _while you have it, it's best to love it and care for it and fix _it when it's broken and heal it when it's sick. That's __true for marriage and old cars and children with bad report cards and dogs with bad hips and aging parents. You keep them _because they're worth it, because you're worth it.

Some things you keep. Like a best friend that moved away __or a classmate you grew up with, there's just some things that _make life important...people you know are special...and you KEEP them close!

Isent this because you are all considered KEEPERS too!

For those of you who know crocheting. No word from DD on her choice but there is a sale and I feel like crocheting so DIL picked out a design that says it's simple although the final work looks very intricate. It is listed under special techniques and says: A glorious array of border patterns, worked from charts in single crochet on right side, reverse single crochet on wrong side, create this antique afghan. Us colors you habve on hand, repeating the patterns you like. Photo is gorgeous. Have any of you done a reverse single crochet? I haven't but I will!! The sample has 19, count 'em.....19 colors. Because it is so different I am excited. We are going tomorrow to pick out colors.

By the way my pattern books are so old they cost .35!!! This book has 56 desiogns to knit or crochet, "mcCall's Super Book of Afghans" Vol. 1. $2.95. I'm so old!

Gotta go! In more ways than one! Will try to be better tomorrow.

It's raining somewhere in the US or Canada, I can feel it!

Take care, Shirley

I WAS doing so good today until this evening. I even done my 2 mile tape of WATP. I ate macaroni at dinner and I guess the carbs made me hungry about an hour and a half after supper and I ate an orange and a cup in a half of yogurt! UGH! I bet I will be up(#'s) again in the morning. Totally blew it. I need to get back on track and quit all this cheating I've been doing from time to time. Not getting me anywhere except up a couple of pounds. Okay, tomorrow is a new day and a new start for me.

I must say that WIW was good to me. I went away for the weekend and came back with a 9 lb increase on the scale! Shocking in a way but not a total surprise because I ate everything in sight and got TOM while there. Yesterday, I reported a 4 lb loss and today I can report another 4 lb loss!!! Only 1 lb to go to get back to where I started and since TOM is still here that is nothing. I was so thrilled. Curious the way it comes and goes so fast. I wish it didn't in a sense because I think it would keep me on the straight and narrow more, if you know what I mean.

FRUIT- Yes that was a minus 34...nasty, huh?! Congrats on running the gauntlet with the junk food...I know you can do it!

SEF- Loved the story. It has some great lessons in it.

QUILTER- Thanks for the suggestion on the book. I wrote it down and will look for it. There are so many websites and books out there it is hard to know where to start. My square is 12 inches with the border. It was meant to just teach us how to do a log cabin and to bind. It is a *dolls quilt* and I will just keep it like that as my *first*.

MAEMAE- Congrats on the job!! Your kids are cuties.

HEARTMOM- Why not try and set a goal of having 1 completely on plan day. When you accomplish that set your goal for 2, then 3, etc. Maybe if you put a goal into your head you will be more inspired. Do you have a friend to try and make mini-goals with? It might help both of you. I find that falling off the wagon really drains me of my resolve and that is harder for me to deal with than getting the gained pounds off.

That is all I can see on this reply page so I gotta stop there! Happy WIW everyone, hope it is good for you.

Good Morning Everyone!

Great Chat last night! DEB, JACKK, SERENE, you guys crack me up. I'm glad we all got on. RUTHXXX, if you are lurking, hop aboard. I emailed my MIL your address. Hopefully you'll hear something soon.

FRUIT---Keep up the good work. I want your spirit to be contagious and I want to catch it! I'm so happy that you are feeling great.

SEF---Sorry to hear about your GD being so sick. I remember being sick like that as a kid. The entire house would be in an uproar. Bless her heart. I hope her appetite comes back real soon. She's probably doing the soda crackers and ginger ale routine now.

HEART---Don't despair. Use yesterday as a learning experience and go from there. I do believe there's a reason for everything. It's our job to find what it is we can learn from things like this. You'll be okay. Just remember we're all pulling for you to succeed. When you succeed, we all do to some extent.

Okay, off to work. Snow has changed to rain. Temps are rising. PTL to that!!! I'm all for warmer weather.

Catch you later!

Wow we're having a heat wave here in Missouri...Its 40 degrees and rained a little. I got to go up the hill last night and get my car after my DH got home from work.... Its thawed out here so I'm one happy lady. Today I'll get to go grocery shopping.. Thank goodness. Even though the pot of beans was good last night. I need salad and vegetables.....etc. etc.. Think this must be a really great day because I also lost 1 lb. Its so slow going its hard not to get discouraged but I'll gladley take that lb. I'm setting a goal for myself to get out of the 160's this coming month...

Trisloo- Oh my gosh I'm so glad no one was hurt by the window. Those little boys when they play together are something else.... Well I guess now with the agave you'll be making some goodies... Like Deb's cheesecake...

Maemae- The pictures are great. You and your little girl are so sweet looking..

The Quilter- I know what you mean about t.v. Allot of the times I just keep it off and quiet at my house. My DH wants it running all the time. So I have a few shows I watch like Dr. Phil but not everyday. Wish I could get Steve to shut it down when nothing good is on. We had our satillite programing trimmed down to the basic's while Steve was off from work. But when we get back on our feet we'll get HGTV again because I really enjoyed it. What wonderful gifts your jewlery would make. That takes so much talent. Wish we had a place around here to teach you to do some different things.. I would love to take some classes.

fruitloupe-We have lots of wonderful things to do here when the weather warms up. I live right on the Jack's Fork River and we also have another river called the Current so theres lots of canoeing, fishing and stuff like that. We have a paddle boat we go out sometimes in. Theres lots of horse back riding and camping. In fact theres a cross country trail rides here several times a year where people come from all over the United States and camp out for a week, doing trail rides and dances. Theres three resturants, three bars and lots of churchs. They have rodeo's and bluegrass festivals. But in the winter its very quiet around here.

Sef- I hope your GD is doing better and has stopped thowing up. That sounds awful....

heartmom- You're right today is a new day and a new start. Just keep working on it.. Think where you'd be if you weren't trying so hard...

Gracious- Great on losing that weight... You're just sailing along there. I'm still working on the 8 lbs I gained over the holidays. 2 more of those to go..

Well off I go for now and hope to pop in this evening....

Good WEIGH IN WEDNESDAY MORNING Everyone:wave:

I just got back from my walk/jog. Still hard going but I managed a bit better time than Monday, did the 4.5 miles in 52 minutes flat. Worked up a nice little sweat as it's getting warmer here, highs near 80 today. Now I have to go get ready to get my parents to take them up to Broward to p/u their new wheels, may run around a bit before heading home to pick up the kids, don't have all that much to do today.

Thanks to those who joined me in the chat room last night-always fun to talk to you, whether it be on the computer or via the telephone!:D

Hope WIW is good to you all, I'm waiting. I can tell you my fanny pack I walk with is really snug. I don't know if it's from being up on the scale OR from finally washing the darn thing and having some kind of shrinkage. I hope it's the later of the two;)

Sorry I don't have time to reply to everyone individually at this time, I have to go get in the shower and get ready. My DM has already asked what time I'll be leaving.

I'll check in with you all later today at some point. Please remember TOMORROW IS RECIPE DAY! So if you have any great SB LEGAL RECIPES you'd like to share with everyone, please, try to post them tomorrow on the NEW QUARTERLY BOARD THANKS!:D

Happy WIW Girls.

Hope the scale is good to you all today.

Enjoyed chat last night with Serene, Quilter and Deb and Ruth. It is fun actually carrying on a conversation.

My scale was not nice today. I was up 1.5 lbs. Don't know why. Periods are all messed up. Don't know if it is mid cycle, beginning or end anymore. I even walked 3 miles and worked out last nite. No need for excuses just do the right thing and hopefully that scale will move.

Gator, Thanks for the explanation on Alabama's elephant. BTW, I don't think I like the new uniforms Florida is sporting. Good game last night. I just hope we are ready for you all Monday.

Trish, I hope your son wasn't hurt on that window. That's why they call them accidents.

Fillise, Thanks for the ind epth explanation. I will print it out and give it to all that questioned it. Pretty interesting. At least their name has reason.

Maemae, You are adorable and your kiddos are precious. Deb was telling us at chat how cute and young you were. It sure doesn't look like you have any weight to lose. Braylee looks like you.

Quilter, I read your post and all that came to mind was how well you handled your frustration. I am so proud of you. Jornaling has really helped you with your mind set. Keep up the great work. The USPS can be frustrating all the way around (I hope no one works there). I hate it when someone tells you they will be there and they aren't. That's the government for you. Yes we will definately plan for a meeting this summer. I can't wait to mee t you.

Fruit, Man I can just feel the excitement and motivation in your posts. Between you and Quilter, there is so much positive energy. It has to be contagious. Great going on passing up the do-nuts and other junk. You are on the right track. Next WIW will show a real loss. Sorry about the ballgame last nite. I thought LSU was going to do it for awhile.

Sef, Hope your DG is feeling better today. How scary. I have never had food posioning, but I hear it's no fun. Hope you ahd DD can get some rest today. It's raining in Ky today.

Heartmom, I wouldn't count and orange and yogurt as cheating. It could have been alot worse. Today is a new day.

Gracious, WTG on shedding those pounds. Did you cut them off? The scale is so fickle. I always try to remember the article Deb posted about it. That's why I only weight once a week and hope that that day is not a fickle day.

Toni, WTG onthat 1 lb. I'm waiting for you. It is raining here too. Much better than snow. Glad you can finally get out of the house and get some food in. I need to do the same. My goal was to be out of the 160's by end of Jan. Guess I'll shoot for 155 by end of Feb.

Got to get busy here. Will check back after lunch to see all the great losses.

Have a great day.

Good morning to all......

Music Teach- What part of the state are you in??

Trishaloo- We were just up in your neck of the woods... Ex-inlaws live in New Braunfels.

Monet and Linworth- The cheesecakes sound wonderful.....yummy.

Quilter- I really don't have any crafty-ness in my past. My step-mom is a WONDERFUL quilter and has made quilts for the babies. Since I have been taking soooooo many leaps lately I think I might enroll in a quilting class.....

Deb- Thanks for posting my pics...I also like to put a face with a name.

Heartmom- You can do it....I fell of the wagon but i'm starting new again. How's Boogie??

Jackk- Thanks for both compliments....Of course you notice that I was sitting on my rear !!!!!!!! I really do have 40 pounds to loose. That was taken at Halloween and I was around 180.

Thanks again for the congratulations !!!!!!!!!!

Have a good day

Hi All - Checking in for WIW - Lost a few pounds (last weigh in I was 267) and still truckin' along - work is busy, home has been busy because I had to roll the leased vehicle into financing...yuch, why did I ever lease! hahaha - but the payment is astronomically low and so I am very very happy! So between all of that and catching up on things I missed because I was sick - I have not had time to be on the board...

So hello to all and congrats to all you losers and next week will be a better week for those struggling!

HiedieHo All!

Okay just probably have only a few minutes. Perhaps GD didn't have food poisoning as doctor suggested. DIL is sick today with the same symptoms!. GD is feeling better but not up to school.

FILLISE: Am not taking time to send personal msg. Obviously I'm not going anywhere today. I found the cat pattern as well as one I made years ago for my DD, a clock. easy to make. DD still uses it. When our little epidemic is over will copy and send them to you.

Jack-k- I also had macaroni.

Maemae- Boogie is doing okay, he has a bad cold though.

WIW- still the same. Thank goodness it wasn't a gain. I'm at 212, still 2 pounds above what I was at the beginning of the month. I had yogurt and an orange for breakfast, drinking water. Lunch will probably be a big salad and some kind of protein-thinking about some smoked sausage. Not a whole lot to choose from because I need to go to the grocery store. I need to get off this computer and make sure Boogie didn't pee in his underwear(potty training) and do my exercise tape. C U guys later!

Hi,

I had a wonderful weekend with my daughter and since we shopped until I about
dropped, I felt that I had gotten in a good workout. HA!

I have been working on getting a second opinion on the surgery on my collarbone but it
is taking time to get the appointment. I have one set up for Feb. 7th and that seems a
long way away at this point. I am mentally prepared (and more than ready) for the
surgery and hope to have it all over with by mid Feb. My daughter will come back to
take care of me...she is do dear. I am hoping that there is not much to take care of.

Maemae: Many congratulations on getting the job. I can feel your excitement from
Dallas. Such a cute pictures of you and Braylee and Cody!

Trishaloo: Hi. I am sorry about your son. I hope that he was not hurt in the accident.
Good for you finding the agave. When I come down, maybe we can visit some of your
favorite legal places.

Quilter: Good for you for continuing and working through a difficult situation. It is
interesting about what triggers us to want to instantly eat. My most difficult time is
when there is an injustice being done.....like your problem at the post office. I get so
frustrated that I want to dig in.

Sef: Oh, your poor granddaughter...an d now your DIL! Please let us know how they are doing. I hope you don’t get whatever it is also.

I will need to catch up later because I must run for an appointment.

Thought I'd try to get in a quick post while I'm filling in for the receptionist while everyone is at lunch. Hopefully, the phones won't keep me too busy.

As usual, I'm so far behind on reading posts so will just have to say hello to everyone. I'm sorry to be so inconsistent with being on the board lately but I feel so overextended that I've just been too tired at night to get on the computer for very long.

Deb, Kim and Jackie, I sure enjoyed gettig to chat with you all for a few minutes last last. You ladies make chat so much fun and lively!

I forgot to weigh before leaving home this morning so I'm not sure where I'm at. I had gained a few pounds last week due to some stress eating, but think I'm back down this week. I will just have to do a Thursday weigh in and will report it, whether it be good or bad.

Well, things are getting busy so I have to run.

Take care,

Hey there everybody.

Well for anyone who's interested in the great glass breaking trauma from yesterday, it all worked out. Seth was not hurt bad, just a lot of little scratches. Joe called the mom and told her to get the window fixed and send us the bill. Seth and her son are the best of friends and spend all of their time at either our house or their's, so we have a pretty good relationship. She said absolutely not, that her son was just as much to blame because they were really just horsing around. Seth was knocking on the window and it broke. We did get her to agree to a work release program so that he can repay his debt to society. I think that both of them are in for a lot of leaf raking, weed pulling, etc. Then we had to have the longggggg talk with Seth about how lucky he was and how he could have been really hurt, etc. I think he did finally learn his lesson.

Well, I just had to take a break and look at one of my clients Super Bowl pictures that he just emailed me. He was in a Corporate Box with John Travolta and the CEO of Disney.

Joe and Jordan are both sick today. I know Jordan is sick because he doesn't dare want to miss school and have to take his finals. If they have a high enough grade and have less than 2 absences then they are exempt from taking final exams.

Guess I better scoot. Have a good day everyone.

Good afternoon,

Just got back in the office from a safety meeting at the race track again. I keep missing my mid morning snack when I'm out there. Luckily got back just in time for my lunch hour. We watch a soap opera during lunch so we go at a set time.

Susan, is that pop-up blocker you use a separate program? Did you just buy it at the store?

Mammae, Keep on this WOE and you will see that 40 lbs gone in no time. Check for agave at your Health Food Store. Use it as a sweetner. It's like honey. Great for baking. Great in Deb's cheesecake. SOme people sweeten their tea and coffee with it. I beleive you can also order it on line.

Tranquil, we were just asking Serene about you last night at chat. WTG on those 3 lbs. So you are so busy. Hope you have more time to post. My DD leased her car and she wishes she didn't too.

Sef, I hope yu don't catch whatever your DD and GD have.

Heartmom, Glad the macaroni didn't make you gain. If you hadn't had all your carbs for the day, I wouldn't worry about it.

Yellow. I think shopping should count as exercise. Afterall, all those packages could be considered weight training. I think you should get a second opinion on your collarbone. Maybe you really don't need the surgery afterall.

Trish, Glas Seth was seriously hurt. Probably more scared than anything. GOod idea about the work program. Just don't make him do too much stuff. Must be that flu bug flying around. Hope your boys are better soon.

Have a great day.

How much should one allow for PMS bloating? I weighed myself over the weekend and saw that I'd gained three pounds, but I am expecting Aunt Flo to stop by for her monthly visit on Friday 1/31, so those three pounds may be water weight. :?:
I'm trying out the recipes and they are so good. Had some of the chicken salad for lunch today--:T
I'm also very proud of myself for ignoring the siren call of a cake in the break room at work. :bravo: Every time someone has spare food, they share it and once the word goes out that there's something in the break room, well, it's like throwing a French fry on the beach. And my office is right next to the break room! However, I didn't not go and grab a piece of cake. :cp: Maybe there is hope for me yet! :^:

Hey Gang

Hope everyone's having a good day. We're finally out of the deep freeze we were in for a week or so and will actually get a little bit above normal temps on the weekend--supposed to be around 30F:cool:

I'm just here to say that I'm at 167. Can't remember what I was 2 weeks ago (didn't weigh last week cause of TOM). Seems I've been stuck for quite a while. I'll have to really crack down on myself to get exercising.

Congrats to those who had a loss, and to those of you, who like me, are the same or up a little, we'll just have to keep working on it and the scale WILL move down.

I am way behind on the posts. I'm fighting off a rotten cold, have no energy and ache all over--even my eyeballs! So I haven't been bothered with the computer too much this week.

I do remember one thing from last week:
QUILTER: My FIL sold his jewelry by word of mouth and on consignment. One store he left a "sample" (actually a bracelet he had made me ) and told the store owner he would take orders to make on individual requests. Unfortunately, MY bracelet got sold. No biggie, he made me another one. I'm curious as to what he's doing this year because he was getting into cutting and polishing his own rocks too.

Ok, time for a nap.:faint:

Keep well everyone.

Hey All:wave:

Long day, just got home. Ended up spending the afternoon up in Broward by myself after dropping my parents off to get the new car (which is very nice). Needed some new eyeshadow and went to the indoor flea market where I had found some lonngggg ago, not the same color, but will do. Also got lots of fruits and veggies - strawberries are sooo delish!

NEWBIES When you have a chance, please post your BIO on the BIO BOARD. It's not mandatory, nothing on this board is, but it's a nice way for us to learn more about you and I personally keep my e-mail files updated by the board and who's on it so when I have something really important to e-mail everyone, you'll be on the list:) The BIO BOARD is in the SB INFORMATION BOARDS area. Also, if you haven't visited our other informational boards, please do so when you get a chance, lots of great info and you can also view our SB PHOTO ABLUM. You can see a picture of many of the gals on this board, as it's always so nice to put names with a face:D

JACKK, why is TOM so screwed up? Since losing weight mine have been so regular it's not funny. I remember when I would never know if it was coming or going. I'm sure the gain you have is NOT fat and could be so many other things. Hang in there, like I am-we both know if we eat right and exercise the weight will go down. I know after mid-cycle to TOM I go up and down like a yo-yo, so I just HAVE to be patient and not give in to temtations or emotions!

MAE, if I can, I will try to load up your picture on the PHOTO ALBUM BOARD so it can stay there. I have to try and rename the picture and cross my fingers it will work. Once you post a picture as I did you can't do the same one twice, so hoping that naming it something else will allow me to do it. You should be able to find the agave at WHOLE FOODS, they do carry down here and I would think since it's something companies all over the US can now get, they surely can order it for you. Next time, check where the syrups are, that's where mine stocks it. It's labeled under the name of SWEET CACTUS FARMS.

TRISH, sorry to hear the "boys" are sick. WOW, I can't believe that they wouldn't have to take finals (or are you talking about mid-terms) if they haven't been out - Michael would LOVE that!

CIARA, http://members.aol.com/eldemila/sb_sign3.jpg CONGRATULATIONS on doing so well thus far. That's an awesome loss! I e-mailed you about the corn bread. The only thing that you could POSSIBLY try for a sub would by soy grits, but honestly, I haven't a clue what that would taste like. Please tell us a little more about yourself when you get a chance.

FILLISE, I got the same darned Atkins thing as well and couldn't get rid of it no way-hate it! Hope SUZANNE will ditch it AND QUICK!

TRANQUIL, CONGRATS on this weeks loss, that's awesome, WTG!! How are you feeling these days?

SEF, sorry to hear GD had such a terrible time, and now DD is sick? Did you know, you can get sick up to 5 days after eating something? This is a fact I learned when I was in a food handling course to get my food handlers license when we had the pizzeria. I hope they both

HEART, hope Boogie feels better! You'll be below your low weight soon-keep strong!!!!

ROSE, glad to see you back on the board and taking a break from shopping! Give those poor shop keepers a break are you? Was such a nice surprise to hear from you the other day! Thanks for calling!!!!!!

SERENE, why not just wait to WI next WIW, if you know you are down, and you stay on track, can you imagine what you'll probably see on the scale! LOL! I am thinking about hopping on the scale for next weeks WIW, I'm having withdrawls!

DAWN, hard to say about PMS bloating, could be 5-6pounds for some. Just stay strong and you'll see it come down. I always know that before TOM and mid-cycle I'm going to see a gain, but if I hold out, I'll usually see a nice loss. WTG with ignoring all that icky and yucky garbage food at the office. Doesn't it give you a great sense of empowerment!?!

ZANNE, sorry to hear you aren't feeling well, that sure stinks! Hope you're back to normal (or better) soon! Wow, it's really warming up up there!:)

FRUIT & QUILTER, how'd your day go today?????

To everyone else, HI!!!!

Okay, I'm outta here. Have lots of bags to unpack (groceries) and have to go out to the car and wake Michael up, he fell asleep in the car!

Is anyone else watching American Idol? Did you see the guy who (tried) to sing LIKE A VIRGIN? OMG, we were dying!!!!

THE FUNERAL

A well-known cardiologist died and was given an elaborate funeral. A
huge heart covered in flowers stood behind the casket during the
service.

Following the eulogy, the heart opened, and the casket was rolled
inside. The heart then closed, sealing the doctor in the beautiful
heart forever.

At that point one of the mourners burst into laughter. When
confronted, he said "I'm sorry, I was just thinking of my own funeral

I'm a gynecologist."

At that point, the proctologist fainted.

Hello Everybody!

I am sitting here watching star search. Yes, I can't believe it, but I am hooked on it a bit. At least it's not on every single night.

My eating has been GREAT today. I feel so good. Physically and emotionally. Most of that stability is coming from the wonderful, wonderful support you all give. It's truly a great thing we have going here. Every morning I wake up and pray that I can keep up my attitude and not get bogged down. I know it's going to take me a long time to get to where I want to be. But I must keep focused on the short goals. My first goal is going to be to lose 10 pounds. I think that's a good goal to shoot for.

TONI---Hey, we've got the heat wave too. A heat wave AND you lost a pound. What a difference a day makes, right? WTG on the pound. Not an easy feat to do while stuck at home. Sounds like you didn't eat away your boredom and cabin fever. It actually rained today and got rid of most of the snow on our deck. Boy are we soggy now! We are going to have the greenest spring on record with all this moisture underground. I wish you could find a place to take jewelry classes. Try asking some of your friends. Perhaps they've heard of a place. This store that I took from is relatively big, but I'd never heard of it before. It sits off to itself in the back of a building. And it's not really on a main drag. So there could be something around you and you've just not spotted it.

JACKK---So sorry to hear that you were betrayed by that one-eyed metal monster. Sometimes the best solution is to kick it out the window! LOL But then where would you be next WIW? I really want to thank you for those kinds words of praise you gave me. You are so sweet. Thanks for building me up. I have to say that I admire you so much for sticking to a plan and really being successful with dropping the excess. You are so much healthier now. And that's where I want to be. I just have to keep telling myself that JACKK started out right where I am and she's made it down. I truly think this will help me stay focused. It's true about the journaling. Each day I am tending to write more and more. DH and I ride into work together. So while he's driving, I've been entering my morning weight loss thoughts. Then after work, I can write more while I'm waiting on him to come out of his building. It is definitely a nice and easy way to free up some tension or just air my questions or fears. We will plan a trip to meet. It would be fun to spend the day together at KY Kingdom. I'm not much of a rider, but I do like to walk the park and watch the people. We could get henna tattooes. I did that last summer at Kings Island and it was really fun. Felt like such a bad-girl-rebel. My niece and MIL got them too. But MIL kept smearing hers before it dried. No one was surprised about that. It made us laugh. You've got to do something about missing that morning snack. That is NOT a good thing. Their priorities are all screwed up. What soap do you watch? I used to watch Y&R for years and years. And I was also hooked on The Guiding Light for years. But don't watch any anymore. It's fun to stumble on one nowdays though and see if you recognize anybody.

MAEMAE---I think I forgot to comment on your beautiful pictures. You all are adorable. What a cute family you are!!! Did you start having those kids at 12, because you sure look young? Okay, maybe not that young. Well, if your mom quilts, then it's in your blood girlfriend. If you love the fabrics and the patterns, then you should try it. Last week my Mary Englebreit daily calendar said "You don't know what you can do until you try it." She's right. Give yourself a lift and try something new. Think of all the great things you could make for your kids and they could pass them down to their kids. That would be so cool.

FILLISE----Don't you just love "pop up blockers"? I do so much. I'm glad to hear you mention Miss Belle. I was getting worried about her. Relieved to hear that she still is the boss of you and can sit any darned place she pleases. LOL

TRANQ----WTG on the loss! keep it up! Glad to hear you are feeling better. Missed you on the chat last night. Were your ears burning???? Just kidding. We were mostly wondering how you were feeling.

HEART----Don't you just hate it when the cupboards are bare? I sure do. I drug DH with me to the grocery tonight on the way home from work. I needed some things really bad. I've been crazy about frozen fruit (blueberries, raspberries, black and strawberries) with milk. If the berries are still cold, the milk kind of freezes and it's kind of like an ice cream treat. I eat it for breakfast and either for lunch or supper. I have to limit it to twice a day. It gives me two healthy fruit servings and some milk as well. So anyways we had to pick up that stuff. Bought some turkey sausage and turkey pepperoni. Trying to go with the low fat stuff too.

YELLOWROSE---I think it's good that you are getting a 2nd opinion if you want one. Feb 7th is just next week. So that's not so very long to wait. I hope it all goes well. I think being able to talk about that post office situation really helped. My boss was with me for most of it, and we took plenty of time after we left to talk over and over about it. That was great. It became so ridiculous that it was funny. It's times like that when you have to laugh or you will cry. I found myself at one point rubbing my face. This is the signal for me that I'm close to losing it. LOL

SERENE---Why not give yourself another week to get of those gained pounds before weighing? That way if they still aren't gone tomorrow, you'll never know. And they should all be gone by next week, right?

TRISH---So relieved to hear that Seth is not seriously hurt. Sounds like a bit of "rough housing" as my parents called it. It's good that he has such a fast friend. The work release cracked me up!!! When they are done at your house, can you ship them up here? We've still got leaves down from the fall that we couldn't get up due to rainy weekends or busy weekends. I dread looking at our grass this spring. It's going to be death valley. Oh well, less mowing that way. You are only 2 steps away from John Travolta in the Kevin Bacon game!!!!! Man, that's pretty cool. I am three steps away from him. Do you know what I'm talking about? I met Princess Di's father when I was in England 10 years ago which connects with Princess Di which connects with John Travolta because didn't he dance with her at some kind of big shindig. I can pretty much connect with any celeb through Diana. Did your client say that John was nice? He surely looks like a friendly guy.

CIARA----Welcome and CONGRATULATIONS ON A BIG LOSS THIS WEEK!!!!! Awesome! You are doing really great! I hope you stay with us on the board. You can get all sorts of wonderful support from these people on this board. And they are so knowledgeable. Thanks for joining us. I don't have an answer to your question. But I'll bet somebody does.

DAWN----Way to go on skipping the cake in the break room. See, you did it today, you can do it again and again and again. Give yourself a big pat on the back. Very cool feeling isn't it? People in my office were eating chocolate muffins (which if you ask me is a glorified piece of chocolate cake for breakfast!). They smelled really good, but I just turned and walked away. No way were they getting to me today.

ZANNE----What I wouldn't give to be at 167!!! Good for you for being such a good example on the downhill slide to healthy weight. I would love to see the stuff your FIL made. He must be good if he's cutting and polishing his own stones. Sounds to me like he's doing a lot of metal work with solder and stuff like that.

FRUIT---I almost missed your post because I was posting at the same time. Hey congrats on standing tall against temptation. You did a great job at that. Be PROUD of yourself!!! I love getting and giving pats on the backs. We are on a journey that can be very rough at times. So when something goes right, we should sing and dance and do cartwheels about it. I think it's good that you admit that there is a temptation. Voicing that can give you power against it. I can hear you saying to yourself, "Boy that whatever looks good." Then half second later, "But it's not the right thing for me to eat, so I'm not going to give it another thought. And I want to feel really good about myself for NOT having any." Is that what you are doing? Remember, the cheering squad is always here for you and me and everybody else. It makes me feel so great to be able to come on here with a good report. It keeps me honest and on program.

Well, friends, I tried to watch SS, but the phone kept ringing. My mom is trying to find an old friend of theirs and she keeps calling me to look up stuff on the internet. I feel like we are playing defective detective. She hasn't heard anything for almost two years and she's afraid that something bad has happened. Any ideas on how I might locate somebody when I don't even know an address?

I'd better go. I really need to finish this necklace for my niece. The evenings are just too short. Bedtime comes too early. But tomorrow is my Friday. So that's a very good thing.
Catch you later,
Kim

Still at 172, but at least it's not higher.

Still having enough trouble with me arm that I'm staying away from typing too much. Hoping to get approved to see a specialist at some point, before the RSD spreads to the left side of my body.

I get my motivationals from http://www.thedietcoach.com/. Once a week.

Hope you are all well and in good health.

For the moment I have two hand to type with--Belle is curled up on the bed and I can type!

Eating is not so hot today. Don't know why really just went off track at lunch and have been off track the rest of the day. Oh well--tomorrow, as they say. . .

Ld--hope the arm feels better soon!

Kim--Belle is still very much the "boss of me!" She was in the hot seat because she broke one of my favorite mugs this morning. She has this thing about liking to watch stuff fall from high places. Every morning we have a ritual of knocking the eyedrops, hand creme, lipbalm, body lotion, remote control off the night stand. Today she got adventerous and started knocking stuff off the kitchen counter. I sayed mad for about two minutes--then she started purring and I'm really a sucker for that purr!:^:

BOB--Belle was snuggled in my other arm--before she decided to destroy the house (see above). What'a a Wild Oats?

Deb--I hope so too! Those things are so annoying!

Jackie--my pop-up blocker comes with my earthlink. I LOVE it! I know there are commercial blockers you can buy, but the blocker is one reason I love my earthlink!

Sef--don't worry about not sending a personal message--I hope everyone in your house recovers soon. I can't wait to see the patterns, but really, feel free to wait until your house is germ free before sending!!!!:o I'm in no hurry!

Time for beddy-bye!

Sweet dreams and talk to you tomorrow!

Quick early morning post for me:
I hated missing chat--My inlaws were here and I couldn't make it. Next week I will.
Welcome Ciara and congrats on the big loss!
Deb-I was a little confused about your "portion post" from the other day. Is that Sugarbuster info? It said 6 servings of grains which seemed like a lot. And in the book I thought they say don't keep track of anything, just keep your portions to the size of a fist. I guess I'm eating way too much but am already starved all the time -- sorry I'm whining :(
Jackie-I can't believe you gained with all your exercise and good eats. You have a great attitude about it though.
Maemae-Congrats with the job. Your kids are adorable.
Trish-I'm glad it is all settled with Seth. Those long talks get old don't they? They do for me after 3 boys.
Dawn-That is great that you didn't eat cake. You are doing great! What chicken salad did you try?
Ruth-I made the ranch chicken too. It was good, but mine ended up with about 4 cups of runny sauce in the pan--is that normal? It didn't look appetuzing, but tasted good.
Susan-Too funny about Belle knocking stuff off your night stand every morning. What a stinker!! I'm going to try for a good eating day--want to join me?

Thursday Morning and all is well. I am down another 1/2 lb but it is obviously tapering off. Mind you, I ate 60 grams of cashews last evening after coming home from shopping famished. Not a complete trauma but it does make me wonder if I would have lost more if I didn't eat them..yummy as they were. Better nuts than chips though!

TONI- Don't be fooled. I am still losing holiday pounds too. These ones are just the ones I got this past weekend!!! I am still working on Christmas pounds. I am trying to get somewhere near my stats posted on the bottom of my posts. When I do, I will have to re-do them....unless I get there real fast! Glad you were able to get out of the house.

Having a birthday party tomorrow night for my son and will add 3 more kids to our family overnight. Should be fun but boys are...well, boys!!

LINWORTHLADY- Sometimes adding a bit more *good fat* helps with the hunger. Try a few nuts, olives or fatty fish. They all have good fat and it will help satiate you...just don't go overboard with it.

FILLISE- I know how much you love your cat so I thought I would tell you a funny story. We have a neutered male cat around 2 years old that we adopted last year. This summer we got a little terrier cross female dog that is about the same size. They play and roughhouse all the time and it is very amusing. Yesterday I was sitting with my 4 year old playing blocks and those two came into the room. Didn't my cat start humping my dog?! How ridiculous is that? The dog seemed to be enjoying it herself. I had to break it up after about 5 minutes of watching and laughing though because my son thought he was hurting her.

I officially became an Avon lady last night. My Avon lady was so lame she rarely delievered my catalogues to me even when I told her I had orders. They had a free start up promo so I figured I would be better off being my own Avon lady! I don't plan to make this a career but I have a couple of friends who already showed interest and placed orders and I haven't been one for 24 hours yet..pretty good!

I am babbling, better go.

Good Thursday Morning Everyone:wave:

Just got finished posting some recipes on the new quarterly recipe board, check them out at the link below:

http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&postid=325877

Today I'm going around Noonish to volunteer a few hours at a church food bank type of place. They actually have a food bank in the back where they give food to needy families and then in the front, have a tiny "store" that they sell foods really cheap and give bread away for free. I've bought some great stuff there, esp. the 2lb bags of almonds that are out of this world for $1 a bag. Anyhow, since it's all run by volunteers and I don't have a job, thought it would be a nice thing to do for a few hours.

Want to get in some replies before I hop in the shower...

BOB, boy, were most of those kids on AI terrible last night, or what! You could just feel Simon ready to explode. I'm sooo happy they are putting the show on at 8pm instead of 9pm like last year, now I don't have to worry about missing the show OR chat! Parent's bought a Toyota Carolla, cute car and FINALLY Mom has power windows and locks, not to mention keyless entry, cassette AND cd player! The other car has 204,000 miles on it and is still going strong. Seems they'll keep it for my kids, but they'll be keeping it a longgg time, neither has even gotten their restricted yet, which, as you know, is fine by me!

NOMORE, yes, I was up at Sample. My parent's bought at car at King and we got off the exit after Sample (North) and afterwards I went there. Probably going to go again soon, they have a picture at one of the places I've been wanting which would complete my living room (finally) at a great price. Here's the website for the T-shirt: http://www.cafeshops.com/cp/store.aspx?s=d_queen I found another shirt that's cute, but it's from the UK. I've e-mailed to ask if they ship to the US. I see you posted a recipe on the new recipe board, but you forgot the name of it. I see you said it was a beef stew. Do you want me to add it for you?

QUILTER, I don't care for the new SS this time around, tried watching it but just didn't like it. Liked the old one years ago! Regarding finding someone, you should be able to find someone if you have name and last location, I would think. E-mail me some info and when I have a chance, will be happy to try to help, if I can:D Keep up the great work girlfriend!!! I bet PAUL is happy to see you being so elated lately!

FILLISE, see, there's not much difference between kids and fur children as my kids break and lose things all the time! Had a glass since the 70's with Tweety Bird on it, BROKE. Funny thing is, it's a ghost child that does it, no one ever claims the blame! I'm sure you'll get back on track today, sometimes we have a lapse in good judgement, it happens.

LIN, no, this was NOT SB info, it was just info in general about portions, more so actually because I realized I was eating waaay to many fruits. For instance, I was eating a large Asian pear, weighing approx. 12-14 ounces and counting it as a serving of fruit, when in reality it's 2-3 servings. A fruit should be approx. 60 calories and 15 grams of carbs. If you take an apple and weigh it out (minus the core) you'd be shocked to see that a serving of an apple that would equal this is only 3.6 ounces! VERY SMALL AMOUNT! If you tend to be hungry, I would suggest, if you aren't already, to journal and see just how much you are eating, what you think and what may be may be two way totally different things.

GRACIOUS, I don't think having about 2 ounces of cashews is going to make anyone gain weight, esp. over night. Remember, it takes 3500 calories IN EXCESS to gain a pound of fat-you sure didn't do that. Good luck with the Avon AND the party tomorrow night!!! HB to DS!

FRUIT, ditto to you!!!!

Okay, I'm outta here for now, will def. check in later at some point!

Toodles

Debbie

Another year older...:sssh:
Linworthlady--the chicken salad I whipped up was the one with red seedless grapes, mayo and peanuts. Great lunch food!

I'm so very proud of myself for saying no to the office goodies.
:nono: Not that that cake lasted that long. When I went in there to wash the plate I keep in my cabinet, that cake was gone. Not a crumb left! :ink: Reminds me of the time my mom made a cake for my brother's b.day and took into his office--she was so surprised at the mass rush to grab a piece--made her wonder if my brother's co-workers ever got anything to eat. Of course, it's her highly illegal coconut pound cake we're talking about here, but I told her that that's how every office is. Like throwing a French fry on the beach. :cookie:

Good morning to all.....

I just got the Atkins do-hickey also on my screen......

Can I just say THANKYOU to all of you??????????
Ya'll make me feel pretty by ya'lls comments....I have to say it has been a long time since I have received any compliments (except from DS-he always tells me) It brought tears to my eyes this morning and really made my day. I was supposed to go to court today to finalize the divorce but it was postponed. I just want to get it over with and move on with my life.

Heartmom- Hope Boogie gets to feeling better. Braylee was running a high fever last night also. We have to take her to Texas Childrens on Monday for some diagnostic test.

Does anyone watch The Bachlorette or Joe Millionaire? I saw the American Idol where the guy thought he was Madonna OMG !!!!! The one girl from Texas isn't too far from me.

Quilter- Thanks for the AGE compliment. I will be 33 in April.

Happy Birthday Dawn........Hope you have a wonderful day....

Hey!

This will be quick as I have to leave for a staff meeting at the church in a few minutes, but I wanted to ask that you remember the folks of Kinston, NC in your thoughts and prayers today.

My brother and his family live in Kinston, NC--not too far from where that pharmaceutical plant blew up last night. They are all fine, but the whole town in in shock. My SIL's sister and her family were in the section of town that was evacuated last night because of the smoke. They were going to my brother's house (which is only about another mile or two away from the plant). They don't really know what was in the smoke that was pouring over the town last night and many folks will be coping with the news that loved ones are dead or seriously injured. The people of this small town are good people, please remember them in your prayers today.

Thanks,
Susan

Hi.

Gartorgal: A quick note to you....I can't find any of the recipes from you from the get together. I especially was looking for the cheese and tomato tart. Would you please, please put it on the recipe board (I looked but couldn't find it) or email me. Many thanks in advance.

We are expecting company any minute. Our neighbors in NC are visiting some other friends and they are dropping by for lunch.

Hope all of you have a great day.

Where is Solshine? JRed? And I know others are missing as well.

My My we have been a busy group since I left yesterday. I am finally getting around to reading all the posts and posting. It has been a busy morning and of course had to have my lunch.

One of my lbs are gone. Who knows what is going on with me. Nothing goin on with me so on to you.

CiaraLinn, I have not found a substitute for cornbread, but that is one of the things I miss the most. WTG on those 6 pounds. Who cares what kind of wt they are, they are gone.

Dawn, Happy birthday to you. Have a great one. :hb: :gift: Good for you not eating that cake. WILLPOWER!. Every person gains before TOM differently. You just have to knowyour body and don't worry about it. Good for you venturing out and trying those recipes.

Zanne, Sorry your are feeling bad. Hope the cold disappears soon and well as a pound or two.

Deb, Don't know why TOM is messed up. I'm even on the pill. Guess I'm just getting old. I'm ready to get rid of the whole thing. Stay off that scale. Give it to Lauren to hide. How sweet of you to volunteer at the food bank.. DOesn't surprise me though.

Bob, THe Wild Oat is in the shopping center I think called BLuegrass Manor. Where Hawley Cooke is and the post office. Not the one right next to the Mall where Toys R Us is but right night to that one. Hope to get there soon.

Fruit, glad you had another great day. You are kicking butt. Keep up the great work.

Nomoresugar, Senidn good thoughts for you tomorrow at the oral surgeons.

Quilter, GOod idea on the 10lb goals. And when you get there, reward yourself with something. The first thing I bought was new pj's. Then a purse, then a top. It works pretty good. My biggest motivation was I didn't want to fail again and everybody say, they knew I wouldn't do it. I wanted to prove them wrong. TO this day, I won't cheat in front of my friends. Good idea on journaling during your ride. That is smart use of time. We watch ALl my Children. Have watched it for 30 years. I thought about you last night. DD & I were looking thru bead books trying to pick the beads for the wine charms we are making for the wedding. Too much math involved for this dummy. Alot to choose from too.

IDblond,I sure hope they approve a specialist for you soon. You should definately being seeing one. Feel better.

Fillise, Hope you are back on track today. If not, I am coming to get you. That was such a horrible accient in NC. Glad all your family are safe.

Linworth, we will be looking for you at chat next week.

Gracious, those cashews are hard to control. I know. Cute cat story. Have fun with all those boys. Can I send you my Avon order. Love their lip liner.

Maemae, you are pretty. Believe it. You should feel good about yourself everyday. You are moving on with your life, a single mom, getting anew job and losing weight. How perfect.

Have a great afternoon. Hope to check in before I leave today.

Got a Happy B.day call from my mom this morning. She was in the process of baking me one of my favorite illegalities--a yellow sheet cake w/ choc. icing! I'm going over there tonight to get some and while I do intend to share some with my husband--and maybe even my co-workers--I do intend to have some myself--my birthday cake after all. My attitude is this: if someone is going to go out of their way to prepare you food, you eat it unless you're allergic to one of the ingredients (f'rinstance I cannot eat bananas or melons because I'm allergic to them). To refuse food otherwise is the very height of rudeness, and Lord knows there's enough of that in the world already. I don't expect my mom to know what's legal and what's not, and I don't want to burden her anymore than she's already burdened. My dad died most unexpectedly almost 2 years ago, and since then, it's really been hard for her (it's been hard for all of us, but Mom's had to have a crash course in many things, on top of greiving). Bottom line: I don't want her to have to remember not to forgot something else that she's supposed to remember.
I'm thinking I'll enjoy some cake, but increase my exercise. Comments? I certainly wasn't expecting this, and frankly I'm surprised that she had the energy to bake anything. I'm also quite touched. (it can be argued that I've been touched for a while now--touched in the head that is:lol: )

Dawn- Have a slice of cake! It's your birthday. Drink lots of water and increase your protein. I know on Feb.8th, I will also be having a slice of cake since it's my daughter's birthday party. I doubt there will be any leftovers, but if so then I'm going to make someone take them home.

Okay, guys I'm pooped! I did the 2 mile tape for the third day in a row, and it kicked my butt today! I'm all red faced and sweaty. The scale said 211 today- so down 1 pound if it's not lying! I contribute that to the exercising. Just a little bummed about not losing any from this WOE. Hopefully, the exercising will increase my metabolism. BTW- did you guys know that Nature's Own came out with a new bread? It's called Reduced Carbohydrate Plain Wheat. It has 7 g of carbs a slice instead of the SF having 11. No sugar. Tastes very similar to the SF kind. And it also has 6g protein per slice.

Hello ladies!

I'm in the process of planning for our trip to Atlanta. We head up on Monday, Have a dermatologist appointment on Tuesday, an Exam Under Anethesia with the opthalmologist on Wednesday after which we're driving to Tifton to stay w/DH's family, then home on Thursday. I'm getting tired just thinking of it. The BIG praise this time is that we'll be staying with my grandmother's cousin instead of having to get a hotel room. I've only met this woman once before in my life, but she's being soooo kind and opening her home to us!

I'm on my second fully-legal day in a row. I have the WORST time getting back on track when I slip. I'm just sick of being fat and flabby. I'm really ready to be fit and fabulous!

Heartmom- You go girl! What an adventure potty-training must be. Marshall’s 19-months and one-time “asked” to sit on the potty. He did go then, but ever since he’s only interested in disassembling the potty seat. Luckily, we’ve got a LOT of time to work on this!

MaeMae- Congrats! I’ve been kinda out of it lately! What type of job is it you got?

Trish- You’ve certainly got friends in high places! Or at least friends with friends in high places :-)

Zanne- Sounds like you may be getting the flu that’s been going around here. We have two out of the office today, one last week and about four are sniffling now. Get some good, legal chicken soup in you and rest up! We don’t want you getting full-blown sick!

BOB- ROFL! That was a hoot about the proctologist!

Gracious- I was an Avon lady for a while in college. I really enjoyed doing it! Have fun!

Dawn- HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Good for you avoiding that cake…And eat your birthday cake and enjoy! This day only comes once a year. Ya gotta enjoy it!

Susan- Oh my! I hadn’t heard about the explosion. I will certainly be praying for all there.

MOM2MARSH- Boogie will be 3 in April- he's just now getting accustomed to it. Before, he would literally kick the potty anytime you asked him if he had to go potty- or throw it across the room. It's all in their own time.

Well, I ate too much chili tonight. I had 2 bowls loaded with beans and lots of cheese. So I felt guilty and decided maybe doing the 1 mile tape would ease the guilt a little. So I've done a total of 3 miles today- great! Glad hubby went over to his friends house so I could(wouldn't be taking up the tv,lol). Tomorrow I won't be able to do the tape since it's my "busy day". I'm feeling good about the exercising- should have done it a long time ago, lol.

SEF--Maybe they both had the roto-virus. That gives pretty bad symptoms.

Jack-K--Are you talking about those black uniforms. They have a couple of different ones, but one is predominantly black and I don’t like them either. Word has it that the coach let the players pick out one of the uniforms, and they picked a black one. I think teenage boys just like black.

CiaraLynn--Welcome. I hope someone comes up with an alternative to cornbread for you. As a good ole southern girl from north GA, cornbread is practically a staple. I love it too, especially with greens with lots of smoked meat in them.
Congratulations on the loss for your first week. Hope you have a great experience with SB. You could try some really great WW bread, toasted with butter. WW bread has its own sweetness. I don’t think you’ll find a really good substitute for cornbread.

Fruit--Great going! Keep it up.

YellowRose--OK, I’ll post the tomato tart on the recipe board tonight.

See ya.

This has got to be a quick one y'all. My eyes don't want to focus.:dizzy: My eating has been waaay off today, but tomorrow is another day and I will drag myself back on the wagon.

MAEMAE: I'm in Mt. Pleasant and teach in Mt. Vernon. We're between Dallas and Texarkana on I-30.

GRACIOUS: I'm an Avon Lady too!:D I sold years ago before we had the kids and I decided to get into it again. I don't go out of my way to sell. I have a few friends who are regulars and I put out books at school. I've made money every month. Not a lot, but enough to keep me interested. Good luck.

I'll try to get to more of you tomorrow.

Hello, all!

It's Friday morning, my day off, so I get to relax a bit and do a post. Sorry I didn't check in last night, but it's the only night we watch tv shows. The only problem was I fell asleep during CSI and totally missed the show that follows. So, that was not the plan. Oh well, Paul told me what happened when I finally woke up at 11:30.

My eating is still going pretty well. Every morning I try to write down what I will eat for breakfast and lunch. This sort of helps me know what I've allotted for that time and keeps me on plan. I have also been eating a fruit snack about 12:15 or so and stretching off my lunch until about1:30 -2. That seems to help me not be sooooo hungry when we get home at night. And I'm not grabbing the first thing I see that's edible. Last night DH opened a bag of Doritoes right when we got home. I wasn't paying any attention and all of a sudden that "Doritoe smell" wafted my way. Whoa! I said, "Well I can't stand here while you eat those." And I went into the kitchen to fix my super salad. So happy my hand didn't automatically reach in the bag.

I made something really good for breakfast yesterday. It was from that Cooking Thin Show. She took 3 egg whites and a serving of Canadian bacon and microwaved that. Then she added a piece of low-fat American cheese and nuked til it was all done. Her suggestion was to eat it on an English muffin. But all I had were some Manny's FF tortillas. (No they are not SB legal, but super low in everything.) It was really pretty good. And since I'm counting WW points too in an effort to corral my portion sizes, the whole breakfast was only 4 points. And I was really full after finishing it. I had always heard to try egg whites, but I had never done it. I've tried the egg substitutes. But they are so expensive in comparison to just a dozen real eggs.

LDBLOND---Thanks for the link to the diet coach site. You'd think we'd get enough coaching around here, but I always like to find another source for inspiration and instruction.

FILLISE---That Belle is a hoot! How funny that you have a ritual-type game. Aren't they neat how they pick up on something and keep it into their daily routine without any prompting form the humans. What exactly do you think THEY think we are? I often wonder who Maddie thinks we are and how she refers to us in her brain talk. Don't beat yourself up about your eating, just get back on the track. Once you get really focused, it will all start to roll into place. Taking one day at a time really helps.

GRACIOUS----Congrats on the 1/2 pound. Hey, any loss is a good loss, right? Those cashews sound delish. I love them, but can't really keep them in the house because the jar would be permanently affixed to my body. Congrats on becoming an AVON lady. What fun for you!!! There is a big building here with the word Avon on the front. Do you know if this is where they are headquartered? Good luck to you. I love their lipsticks and have used their feet products for a long time. That cracked heel stuff really works like a medicine.

DEB---Well, you know how I feel about volunteerism. So glad you decided to do that. How was it? Did you enjoy your time there? I always find that I meet the neatest people while volunteering. Those almonds for $1 is a great buy. Lucky you! I'm not crazy about the new star search, but I would like to see who wins. If I hadn't watched that first night and seen this dynamic little girl sing her heart out, I probably wouldn't have tuned in again. The finals will be next week and that will be over. The modeling category is ridiculous. I think they look pretty stupid (although their bodies are something else!) up there on that runway. I'm waiting to see one of them fall off those 4 inch heels and go running off stage crying. Hasn't happened yet. Now that would boost the ratings! I will email you some info on the people Mom is trying to find. Thanks for the offer to help. Yes, Paul is soooooo happy that I'm back on the board. It's much better for him when I'm focused and postive rather than depressed and eating and gaining. The other night he asked me to figure up the points for a sausage he was eating. Since it had 22 grams of fat, you can imagine that it was very high in points. I'm not nagging him, but I wish he'd start to watch. His solution is to go all day without eating and then come home and eat whatever. I told him this screws up his metabolism, but he's not getting it.

DAWN-----Happy Belated Birthday. Sorry I didn't get to post this on your special day. Hope you had a good one. Any good presents come your way?

MAEMAE----We aren't hear to make you cry, girlfriend. But just as long as they were tears of joy. We like those kind.

JACKK---Boy, you and DEB are sounding exactly alike. She told me to reward myself at 10 pounds too. I like what you said about wanting to do it right this time and not have people thinking that I screwed up again. How many times have my family or friends heard me say I'm going on a diet or I'm really going to do it this time and then I end up fatter? Geesh, at least a zillion times. Well, I'm like you in that I want to show them that I can do it. I also think being able to get to that goal would be a great way to boost my self confidence. I think just below the surface I really feel that I am someone who can't complete things. So that's where all these failed attempts fall into. Knowing that you have had so much success is really helping me see that there can be a light at the end of the tunnel. And it might just be shining on a pair of size 10 jeans!!!!!

HEART----Awesome job on those tapes!!! You are really kicking butt and taking names. And the scale showed just how great you've been doing. It's not lying. It's a machine; how can it lie? Where do you find the Nature's Own Bread? Regular grocery or specialty store? You just made me hungry for chili. I have everything to make it too. Thanks, now I don't have to worry about what's for dinner.

MOM2----Hey, enjoy your trip. Sounds like you've got some kind of stressful stuff planned, but I hope everything around that is good for you. Be sure to plan ahead on your eating BEFORE you leave. Are you going to pack some good yummies for yourself in case you get into a situation where there is nothing but illegal food? I know what you mean about having a hard time after you slip. It's the same for me and a lot of us on this board. That's why each day I just keep praying that my resolve will hold and that I will keep focused on the goals I've set and not let my emotions get the best of me. Keep track of what you eat while you are gone. That might be a good way to stay on track. I'd hate to see you slip after have such good days this week. We are all pulling for you.

Okay, that's it from this end. Think I'll go down and weigh this morning and then get some breakfast. Today I have so many things I want to do. I want to paint a room in our house. So I need to start clearing that out. Then I have some errands to run. Thank goodness, we are supposed to be into the 40s today. A heat wave!!! JACKK, how's the weather down there? Tomorrow we are helping SIL and her new hubby move into their new home. That will be most of the day, but hoping to get a good workout from that. Ha!

Thanks again for all the wonderful things you say and do. You all are the best. Have a GREAT DAY!
Catch you all later.

Good Morning! I can hardly believe it is Friday already! I have had an interesting, roller coaster of a week. I am helping a friend prepare for a wedding reception for her son, who got married a few weeks ago in Croatia. In addition, I have been approached about a job at my church, and I am considering the possibilities. I want to make the 'right' decision about it, and I am not sure what that is yet.

Eating has been great, but as usual, weight loss is about non existent. I have been good about getting my treadmill time in this week, but I burned the bottoms of my feet walking barefooted on it, and I am not sure if I am going to be able to walk today. Guess I will try with shoes on.

Here is a Friday Funny:

HOW TO BE ANNOYING

1. At lunch time, sit in your parked car with sunglasses on and point a hair dryer at passing cars. See if they slow down.

2. Page yourself over the intercom. Don't disguise your voice.

3. Every time someone asks you to do something, ask if they want fries with that.

4. Put your garbage can on your desk and label it "in"

5. Put decaf in the coffee maker for 3 weeks. Once everyone has Gotten over their caffeine addictions, switch to espresso.

6. In the memo field of all your checks, write "for sensual massage".

7. Finish all your sentences with "in accordance with the prophecy."

8. Don't use any punctuation marks

9. As often as possible, skip rather than walk.

10. Ask people what sex they are. Laugh hysterically after they answer.

11. Specify that your drive-through order is "to go".

12. Sing along at the opera.

13. Go to a poetry recital and ask why the poems don't rhyme.

14. Put mosquito netting around your work area. Play a tape of jungle sounds all day.

15. Five days in advance, tell your friends you can't attend their party because you're not in the mood.

16. Have your coworkers address you by your wrestling name, Rock Hard Kim.

17. When the money comes out the ATM, scream "I won!", "I won!" "3rd time this week!!!!!"

18. When leaving the zoo, start running towards the parking lot, yelling "run for your lives, they're loose!!"

19. Tell your children over dinner. "due to the economy, we are going to have to let one of you go."

20. Follow someone around with a can of disinfectant spray, spraying everything they touch.

21. When driving with someone in your car, run the windshield wipers all the time, to 'keep them warmed up'.

22. Shout out random numbers when someone is counting outloud.

Good Friday Morning

Sure glad it is Friday. It has been a busy week at work and a lazy week at home. At least we walked every night and worked out each night and I cooked every night. :( That's why I love Friday's. No walking, No working out, No COOKING. :D

Heartmom, WTG on all the exercising. It will help in the long run, if not with the scale, with inches.

Mom2Marsch, Have a nice trip.

Gator, These looked like navy with that bright blue panel on the sides. THey could have been black though.

Quilter, I fell asleep during CSI last nite too. I hate that. Love that show. Your breakfast sounds like an Egg MCMuffin :;): You are doing so great with your journaling. WTG on passing up the Doritos. I refuse to buy that stuff. My downfall is Cheetos. Enjoy your day off. I'm loving reading your posts. They are so upbeat and fulfilling. You sound like I did when I first started. I think you have got it this time. I know you will get to goal. It is supposed to be 58 Sunday & 60 Monday. Rain but who cares. Now if it would just stay like this. Take some legal food with you for your moving trip. Don't get in a jamb. Sometimes people moving will order pizza and yo don't want to be stuck.

Monet, I don't think you are supposed to walk on a treadmill barefoot. :?: Get those tennies on. Good luck on the job decision.

Deb, Loved the FF.

ACW, Hope your day is very special. Do something fun for you and stay away from the cake. :hb: :gift: :hat: :balloons:

Need to get started here. One Boss is gone today so that will be good. Have a great day. Be back later.

Good Friday morning everyone. I loved the Friday funnies so far.
Kim-I'm trying to watch points and do SB too. I think that what is a typical day for Sugarbusters is in the WW point range too. My goal for this week is to start writing down my food everyday. And to continue to drink the water!!
Jackie-That is so great that you exercised everyday. Is today happy hour? When you say work out, what do you mean? Great advice about taking healthy food to a move-in day.
Deb-Great job on the running. It sounds like you are back into it. I'm still (slowly) training for my 10K in April. But my legs hurt so much, especially my ankles and knees. I guess it is my OLD joints.

Friday...

Down my last 1/2 lb and I ROCK! :cb: Man oh man, why do I do this to myself. There is a lesson for you girls, courtesy of me....don't pig out on the weekend, gain 9 lbs then spend Monday to Friday losing them. Bad plan! Now I am working on the rest of the holiday pounds and will catch up to JACK-K and TONI in February!

My computer kept crashing on me and I have to get my butt in gear and prepare for my son's birthday party. I am NOT eating any of the cake or junk, it is a determined fact. Thanks to all who wished me well on the AVON thing. I think it will be fun to pass around the books to my friends.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Friday funny--
Sorry if this is old:

REAL WOMEN vs MARTHA STEWART

Martha Stewart: If you accidentally over-salt a dish while it's still cooking, drop in a peeled potato and it will absorb the excess salt for an instant "fix me up."
Real Women: If you over-salt a dish while you're cooking, that's too damn bad. Please recite with me, The Real Women's motto: "I made it and you will eat it, and I don't care how bad it tastes."

Martha Stewart: Cure for headaches: Take a lime, cut it in half and rub it on your forehead. The throbbing will go away.
Real Women: Take a lime, mix it with tequila, etc.,chill and drink. You might still have the headache, but who cares?

Martha Stewart: Stuff a miniature marshmallow in the bottom of a sugar cone to prevent ice cream drips.
Real Women: Just suck the ice cream out of the bottom of the cone, for Pete's sake. You are probably lying on the couch, with your feet up, eating it anyway.

Martha Stewart: To keep potatoes from budding, place an apple in the bag with the potatoes.
Real Women: Buy Hungry Jack mashed potato mix and keep it in the pantry for up to a year - no apples required.

Martha Stewart: When a cake recipe calls for flouring the baking pan, use a bit of the dry cake mix instead and there won't be any white mess on the outside of the cake.
Real Women: Go to the bakery. They'll even decorate it for you.

Martha Stewart: Brush some beaten egg white over pie crust before baking to yield a beautiful glossy finish.
Real Women: The Mrs. Smith frozen pie directions do not include brushing egg whites over the crust, so I just don't do it.

Martha Stewart: If you have a problem opening jars, try using latex dishwashing gloves. They give a non slip grip that makes opening jars easy.
Real Women: Go ask the very cute neighbor to do it.

And, finally, the most important tip - and this is the one that I can relate to

Martha Stewart: Don't throw out all that leftover wine. Freeze into ice cubes for future use in casseroles and sauces.
Real Women: Leftover wine??????

1. What do you call a man who marries another man?
A minister

2. One friend to another: you know, a little knowledge is a dangerous thing.
Second friend: you don't look dangerous to me!

3. There were two poets who were bitter rivals. One day they met unexpectedly and of course their rivalry renewed itself. "you know," said the first poet. "Since we last met, my readership has increased!"
"Congratulations on your marriage!" the second poet replies.

Quilter- You and I are very different wavelengths there! I can resist Doritos like crazy. Something about the smell turns my stomach. In fact, DH knows that if he eats Doritos, there is no chance of making out until the next day! How did you nuke the eggs? Just in a bowl? That does sound wonderful! I may have to try it next week.

Monet- I’ll be praying that the Lord will give you guidance about the job offer. It can be so hard to listen for His voice sometimes. If you’re anything like me, I know what I want and have a tough time swallowing what He wants for me!

Loving all the Friday Funnies!

Well, I’m off to the chiropractors this afternoon. While looking at my spinal x-rays the other day he asked me if I’d been dropped on my head… I think that might mean I’ve got a few problems :)

Jacob, age 92, and Rebecca, age 89, are all excited about their decision to get married.

They go for a stroll to discuss the wedding and on the way they pass a drugstore. Jacob suggests they go in.

Jacob addresses the man behind the counter: "Are you the owner?"

The pharmacist answers, "Yes."

Jacob says, "We're about to get married. Do you sell heart medication?"

Pharmacist: "Of course we do."

Jacob: "How about medicine for circulation?"

Pharmacist: "All kinds."

Jacob: "Medicine for rheumatism, scoliosis?"

Pharmacist: "Definitely."

Jacob: "How about Viagra?"

Pharmacist: "Of course."

Jacob: "Medicine for memory problems, arthritis, jaundice?"

Pharmacist: "Yes, a large variety. The works."

Jacob: "What about vitamins, sleeping pills, antidotes for Parkinson's disease?"

Pharmacist: "Absolutely."

Jacob: "You sell wheelchairs and walkers?"

Pharmacist: "All speeds and sizes."

Jacob smiles broadly and says to the pharmacist, "We'd like to use this store as our Bridal Registry."

Another one....

For those who've never had one, this is what you have to look forward to and for those of you who have already been thru this, I think you'll agree this is pretty much how it is!

Many women are afraid of their first mammogram, but there's no need to worry. By taking a few minutes each day for a week preceding the exam, and doing the following practice exercises, you will be totally prepared. And you can do this right in your own home!

Exercise 1:
Open your refrigerator door and insert one breast between the door and the main box. Have one of your strongest friends slam the door shut and lean on the door for good measure. Hold that position for five seconds (while you hold your breath). Repeat again, in case the first time wasn't effective enough.

Exercise 2:
Visit your garage at 3 am when the temperature of the cement floor is just perfect. Take off your clothes and lie comfortably on the floor with one breast wedged under the rear tire of the car. Ask a friend to slowly back the car up until your breast is sufficiently flattened and chilled. Turn over and repeat for the other breast.

Exercise 3:
Freeze two metal bookends overnight. Strip to the waist. Invite a stranger into the room. Press the bookends against one of your breasts. Smash the bookends together as hard as you can. Set an appointment with the stranger to meet next week and do it again!!

CONGRATULATIONS!
Now you have nothing at all to worry about when you go for your Mammogram!

And just a thought for all you women out there:
MENtal illness, MENstrual cramps, MENtal breakdown, MENopause.

Ever notice how all of women's problems start with men? And when we have real problems, it's HISterectomy!

Good Friday Morning Everyone:wave:

Just got in from my walk/barely jog. Was hot out there today (I know stop complaining and stop rubbing it in), and it was hard to get in much jogging. It took me 54:23. I could feel how slow I was going, but at least I went out there. When I went out on Monday I put on my fanny pack and boy, was it snug. I don't know if it's from A. Washing it and it shrank or B. Weight gain. I hadn't washed the darn thing since I had it, I think (years), so not sure which-heck, it could be both! Anyhow, today it was less snug. Could it be stretching out a bit, or did I lose, or both. Something to ponder today!

Well, I did a little work on fruits and servings sizes yesterday morning and boy, was I shocked:yikes: It's amazing to see what a "serving" if following the recommended serving size that would equal 60 calories and 15 carbs would actually be, almost nothing!

Here's a listing of fruits and serving sizes that all contain 60 calories and 15 grams of carbs ( a few were 14 and 1 was 16 grams of carbs, the rest 15)

Pear 3.5oz
Apple 3.6oz
Strawberries 7oz
Raspberries 4.3oz
Blueberries 3.8oz
Banana 2.3oz
Manadarins 4.8oz
Cherries 3oz
Grapes 3oz
Grapefruit 6.6oz
Orange 4.6oz
Peach 4.9oz
Canteloupe 6oz
Mango 3.2oz
Persimmon 3oz
Figs (fresh) 2.8oz

The one question I have to find out, if I can, and if it's been ever asked is this...since you can exclude the grams of fiber from the grams of carbs, thus, lowering the carb amount, but not the calories, would one be able to have more of said fruit???:chin:

Went and volunteered for about 2 1/2 hours or so yesterday at the church. It's actually in a warehouse area and the church is in the unit next door, but this part, in the front, has 3 tiny aisles of shelves with food stacked all over it and more stored in the back room. I re-organized the shelves and helped stock more food on them. It's all damaged goods, but nothing wrong with it, dented cans, boxes, and the like. We just found out about it a month ago and have been going there ever since to get some stuff. I can use all the help I can, esp. after the kids father didn't have a job and now that he has one it's paying less, thus, he's giving me less $$$ now. So, since I have no job and since I know they can use the help since it's run all by volunteers, I went and plan on going next week as well:)

MAE, you are VERY cute and we all say it because we mean it. You remind me a bit of an old member we had on the board last year, NANCE. Why was the proceedings postponed? How long were you married? BKM is also going through a divorce after 24 years of marriage. I've watched a couple episodes of Millionaire, but really haven't followed it, haven't watched the Bachelor at all though. Def. American Idol. Of all the reality shows, AMAZING RACE is by far my fav!

FILLISE, glad to hear none of your family was involved in that tragedy in Kinston. I see today they are thinking it was a dust cloud that ignited. Never heard of anything like that happening. I'm sure it rocked the town in more ways than one, hopefully, things will get back to normal around those parts soon. How long was your SIL's family evacuated for?

JACKK, what does the Dr. say about your erratic periods, or are you like me and don't go? Old, geez, you're def. NOT old! Maybe you're finally getting rid of TOM, and to think, you don't have to worry about all the things that come with it either. I wonder if I'll look forward to that or not. I sure as heck don't like the hot flashes I am starting to get once in a while-those suck! CONGRATS on exercising every day so far-that's wonderful and sure makes me envious! Loved the Friday Funnies - THANKS!:D

DAWN, I hope you enjoyed your birthday cake! If you get/got right back on track, even with or without the exercise, I'm sure you won't have any problems with having had a piece, or two;) It's if we keep indulging and can't get back on track is when we have trouble, trouble and more trouble. Thanks for posting the FF's!

HEART, great going for doing 3 days in a row in the exercise dept. Keep it up and before you know it you'll be wanting to exercise and hate it if you don't. At least that's the way I was. Are you journaling your food at all? If you are staying on track and eating right, you should be losing, even if very slowly. Thanks for the heads up about the bread. I haven't seen it down here, but then again, there's stuff Flowers Bakery makes that we don't get down here. I'll keep my eye open for it and when I go to the Flowers Outlet, I'll ask them if they have it or may be getting it in. Wonder how it tastes. Good thing DH went to his friends, esp. after you ate that chili with all those beans. If you're anything like me, maybe he should of spent the night out!

QUILTER, hope you enjoy the day relaxing and possibly getting in some bead work. Your breakfast yesterday sounded quite yummy, if I had some Can. bacon I'd surely make it, as I have everything else. Whole Foods has the yummiest WW English muffins! I think when we learn how to eat healthy and we see all the positive results from it (weight loss, state of mind, etc.) we just naturally want those we lose who could benefit from doing something for their well being to follow in our footsteps. It also helps a lot if both parties are eating the same things and NOT letting the scent of Au de Doritos permiate in the air;) Maybe once PAUL sees you being back OP for a while and all the benefits, maybe he'll get on the wagon. Then again, he could be like ELI and not! Like PAUL, ELI doesn't eat all day long and then comes home, so famished, he'll eat anything in sight! His eating (and sleeping) habits are awful, but what can I say???

MONET, what kind of position are they offering you at the church? How did the TM burn your feet? Thanks for the Friday Funnies!

MARSH, sounds like you have a busy trip planned for next week! Girl, you aren't the only one who has trouble getting back on track when they falter, we've all been there, but luckily, in time (some shorter than others) do find our footing and get back running on the right track. Being 2 days fully legal, if your like me, just one more day and that should be it for you. You can do it!!!!:D Enjoy your trip and drive safely! LOVED the Friday Funnies!!!!!

LIN, I think journaling will def. help anyone, how can it not? To this day, it still helps me. Keep training, you'll find, in time, it will all pay off in more ways than one, far beyond the 10K you'll be finishing:D Thanks for the FF'S! I don't even know if I can qualify for real women status. Hope you don't mind, I did clean it up a bit to be a bit easier to read on the board.

GRACIOUS, glad to see you are back down, now I do have to ask, did you Atkins your way again, or was it strictly SB? Good luck with DS's bday party! What's the weather like up there today?

Okay, I'm going to scrounge the fridge and decide what to eat for breakfast. I'll check in with you all later today at somepoint.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!!!!!

Hi Everyone! Sorry I've been MIA from the board, but it's been a rough couple of weeks since the trip. Things are staring to settle down here but we've been busting at the seams at the hospital. We're having to double up patients which we don't usually do & having to get an extra CNA & Extra nurses for each shift. It's good that the hospital is busy, but it makes it hard on the staff to pull extra hours, usually without breaks.

Anyway, I'm off today but need to get packed & ready as I'm off to a ladies' retreat tonight & tomorrow morning. Leaving at 2pm so I just have 4 hours to get in gear.

Sorry that I have not been able to read the board, just checked the first page to see if there were any birthdays, so

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ACW!! :hat: :gift: :hb: :grouphug:

Will try to catch up to all of you at a later date, but I do miss all of you here on the board. Hope all is doing ok. BYE

Well as I sit here eating my salad with chopped smoked meat I thought I would post....

All in all I have been extremely 100% OP! Yeah!!!! I have an appointment with the Endicrinologist for the end of March which is another HURRAY!!!!!

The bronchitis is slowly fading away, though when the temps change it all kicks back in and yet, because of the inhalers and meds the doctor gave me, I just go home, take meds, and rest and the next morning I am back to "quasi-normal" :)

Bob - I just take Paxil, I wish I could take Wellbutrin but it upsets me...emotionally that is....wierd system of mine....but Kudos to you for getting the meds going and I will be right there with you as we watch the scale go down!!!!!!!

Quilter - What gorgeous jewelry - great way to keep busy as well...just think, your new hobby could pay off big time as well as it makes wonderful gifts!!! Meanwhile, I am sorry to have missed chat, I was in bed....resting and taking it easy.... I am doing fine though - just a long haul kicking this thing out! But every day I feel better and better....by the way, I am so jealous, a friend told me she is going to London in June with her husband - but they are going on a tour of England as well!!!!!

Deb - I am very sorry for my lack of posting and absence... but things are getting better..... I am enjoying getting my body back on track and starting to see the scale slope back down... I bought some whole wheat pita bread yesterday and thought about you - hahahaha - and wished I could live closer so I could shop for all that good healthy food at those wonderful stores around you! I would be skinny minnie if you were closer!

JackK - again, I am so sorry I missed chat - I will do better! Meanwhile, I am so jealous!!! You get a Wild Oats while Jacksonville sits through the dark ages!!!!

Melf - Have fun at your retreat!!!!!

Mom2 Marsh, Dawn, Linworth - thanks for the funnies  they were very cute!!!

GRACIOUS!!! Congrats!!!!!! Good Luck with the Avon as well!!!!!
:cp:

Monet - I took your advice from your funny and told the lady in the office planning our get together next week that I was not going because I was not in the mood - she cracked up..... thanks!
OUCH about the feet!!!!!

Well, I am missing answers to a bunch of you - and hope that I can catch up.....Good luck on keeping OP over the weekend!

DEBELLI- *ducking* It is one of my creations...not Atkins or SB...it is me not eating many carbs and sticking with protein and fat with lots of water. It seems this is the only way for me to lose weight at a speed that makes me happy. I know what you are going to say though, I just gain it back when I fall off the wagon. I guess the key is NOT to fall off the wagon but go to SB when I reach goal. It is not like I am far away from my goal though, but I do want to move my perpetual struggle closer to it like you have. I hate that this is a struggle for life but I know it is.

I've been MIA too- Deb sent out the posse and found me! haha- she knows where to look!

My foot is better, still a slight green hint around the ankle, but works 100%. I'v been avoiding posting because I still feel so bad about missing the weekend and making Deb run by her lonesome, awsome that she was!

I read your posts most every day- you are all in my thoughts.

Good afternoon ladies,

Well this day is almost over and I am glad. I have worked my tail off today, (but when I look behind me I sure can still see it)

Getting ready to head to Happy Hour. Think I'll have wine tonite. I have my triscuits in my purse in case we go for Mexican tonight.

We are going to dinner tomorrow night with friends (their treat) Yeah!.

Linworth, I work out with weights everyday, and for Christmas we bought a home gym. I love it. I can tell you that wt training has really reduced my size. @ 164 lbs I am much smaller than I was before at 164. I was probably in a size 12 then and now it's a 10. Give it a try it's fun.

Gracious, I am doing the  for you. WTG on getting rid of that last 1/2 lb. Just don't gain it back over the weekend. I don't know why we do that to ourselves. I hate losing the same pounds twice. Good luck avoiding the cake. I like the cure for the headaches. I am going with the real woman cure though. I think Toni & I are waiting for you to catch up.

Mom2Marsh, If the dr asked me that questions, it would explain alot of things. Love the mamogram joke.

Deb, Go with the fanny pack shrinking. Makes you fell better anyway. I do go to the Dr once a year, but I haven't called him about this mess yet. I guess I'll wait and see what happens next mo. Good for you volunterring. Wish I had time to do that. Every year for Thanksgiving I say I would like to serve foot at one of the kitchens, but we never do it. One day. Glad to see you out there walking again. You'll get back into your routine.

Melf have fun at your retreat. Hope things slow down for you at work.

Tranquil, You go girlfriend. You are dowing awesome :bravo: I am so proud of you. I'm gonna have to check out the Wild Oats by the sound of you and Bob.

Mel, You shouldn't feel bad about not running. It was an accident soemthing you couldn't help. We mis you on the board so get your butt back on here.

Have a great weekend and stay legal. Hope to check back sometime during the weekend.

Thanks goodness this week is almost over. I just heard one of the guys at work say that it's been a roller coaster week and boy was he right. I went home sick yesterday (thanks DH and DS for sharing) but feel fine today. I think it's going to be a nice quiet week-end and the weather's supposed to be beautiful. Hubby's working late tonight so I think I'll make a WW pita pizza and put my feet up with a glass of wine. Gotta run but just wanted to tell everyone hi and have a good week-end.

Go Longhorns!!!

Hi All! Just taking a break to wait for Paul to get home from work. I've been going pretty steady all day. Ran some errands and then hit the new bead shop. It's small but really nice. I spent too much money and didn't buy one bead. I tried some gold wire, and don't like it. Have already wasted 2 inches of it and that's not a good thing. My one niece only wears gold, so I was going to try and cater to her wishes. Actually, I don't want to make her something that will sit in the jewelry box, if it even makes it there. So not sure what to do on that situation.

My eating has been really good today. Usually when I am home for most of the day, I am jumping from one snack to the next. Well, I didn't do that today. I've stuck to just what I had planned this morning. About 3 I started to think I "needed" a snack. So I got a big glass of water. Honestly, I would have rather had the snack, but will be unsatisfied with the H2O. Have another big glass sitting here as I write to you all. I think that wagon we're all on had better have some sort of a floating device the way we're all filling up with water.

Oh, I almost forgot. My scale said I was down a half pound since two days ago. I will TAKE IT!!!!

Have enjoyed the Funnies today. Where do you guys get all of them?

JACKK---That's funny that we both crashed during CSI. I really look forward to that show, so I was ticked that I couldn't last long enough to see who "dunnit." Did you see the beginning about that little girl? So sad. The breakfast I described was from Kathleen Daelamann and she calls it the EggMockMuffin. I called it an Egg MockBurrito since I used a tortilla. Thanks for the tip about taking my own food for the moving tomorrow. That was brilliant! I will pack my usual workday lunch, which will do nicely. Enjoy the happy hour! Sounds like a blast. And it sounds like you are ready for anything. What could possibly go wrong with triscuits in your purse??? The motto for all good SBers . . . BE PREPARED!!!

LIN---Well, it looks like you and I have another thing in common. I like counting with points better than trying to keep track of calories. In the past I have used the Fitday.com site which tracks everything. But this time, I just decided to do portion control through the points. Besides it's easier for me to just write it all down and refer back to different days without having to be at the computer. Good luck on recording your food. I think that really helps. It does me so much good to look back over the day and see an honest representation of what I've taken in. When I try to keep track in my mind, I think I have selective memory working. I seem to forget a lot of the "how muches" and the bits and bites of certain other little things. So if I know that I absolutely MUST write it down, I will think twice. I know DEB records her food and look how well she's done.

GRACIOUS----Congrats on getting that nasty old clingy half pound off. He was persistent but you won out!!! Way to go! And BTW, thanks for the reminder to watch ourselves this weekend. Man, what you said is so true. We want a lot of forward motion in the weight loss arena, not a bunch of three steps forward/two steps back stuff. You truly do ROCK!!! Hey, everytime you see that cake, think about that nasty half pound that kept hanging on. You can do it!

MOM2----You made me LOL talking about how the Doritoes (or Doritoe breath for that matter) do not have a part in your romantic evenings. How funny! I wonder what it is in the smell that makes you sick. I wish I had that problem. Actually, I wish my hubby had that problem, then I wouldn't have to worry about them. Actually, they have never been one of my favorite foods, but I would every now and then get a taste for them. I just nuked the eggs in my pyrex 2 cup glass measurer. That worked really well because the handle didn't get too hot. I hope you like it when you fix it.

DEB---I'm glad your time at the foodbank went well. Sounds like a great place to help out. Plus you can find all sorts of bargains. How many people were working there while you were there? Did many people come in to shop while you were there? Being a volunteer is such a great gift. I just can't stress it enough. I know that those of you who do it will probably confirm that the people who are running these places are so grateful to have the extra, free help. Do they have anything besides food? I know what you mean about wanting those we love to eat healthy too. I just really try not to say anything and not to push. Each night this week, I fixed a salad and let Paul make whatever he wanted. That worked really well. He likes to cook and then we still sat together and ate and talked. We are both just too sedentary. We need to get our big butts up and moving. But neither one of us has that athletic mindset. And all o ur big hobbies include sitting. I haven't done a bit of exercise since last weekend. I was trying to wait for my stomach to stop the griping. Now that it's done being a crab, it's time to start moving. Planning it into the workday is the worst for me. I really cannot get up any earlier than I am right now. Six is the earliest I will do. So I guess that means hitting it right after work. That's what JACKK does and it's surely worked for her. I'm rambling. So sorry. Just had to think through that entire thought.

TRANQ----I'm glad you like my jewelry. How nice of you! I would love to go back to England. It's such a great place that has so much: beauty, history, fun places to walk, great architecture. It's truly wonderful. I have such great memories from there. I'm sure you do too.

MEL---Welcome back, old friend! Hey, I wasn't involved in the Fl weekend, I but I can honestly say that you shouldn't feel guilty. There's no guilt here. I'm sure you were duly missed, but you just couldn't go. It's as simple as that. It's good to see you back. I was MIA for a horribly long time and gained all sorts of weight. So I've learned that I'm a "lifer" with you guys. When I stray, I do not weigh! And that's not a good thing. Glad to have you back on here.

TRISH----You had a wild ride this week. So treat yourself well this weekend. Hope you all have a great one. Your evening sounds good. You can't go wrong with the WW pita pizzas.

Okay, well Paul just got home and we're going to go get something to eat. We're just going to a little home-cooking place up the road. They have good salads and I can order things to my liking. Plus they don't serve alcohol either, so I should be relatively safe. Ha!

Catch you later.

Hi,

Well, the Cajan food restaurant my friends wanted to eat at yesterday didn't turn out too well for me. I ordered jambalya which was a big mistake. Melf would have not considered it cajan at all....just rice with a red sauce. Luckily the husband didn't want his salad so I ate that instead. I should have sent it back but didn't want any problems to embarass my friends.

I looked at the quarterly recipe board and there are already some very good sounding recipes there. I added a couple more. thanks Debbie for posting the link.

Gatorgal: Thank you for putting the recipe on the board. I have already printed it out. I wonder if it would help to prebake the filo dough crust to keep it from being softer at the bottom.

Ciara: Have your tried falafel for a substitute for cornbread. I didn't read your original note and so this might not work at all for you but falafel reminds me of the crunchiness of cornbread. Now, remember I don't put sugar in my cornbread being a Texas lady.

Uh oh, I need to run again. I hope soon I will be able to catch up on all the posts and respond

I had a rough week--I teach most of my classes online, and the email has been atrocious this week--probably around 325 since Tuesday night...I had a migraine headache for 3 days, 2 sick kids, 1 leaking sink and 1 broken garbage disposal, and 2 days of not being very "good" with my SB fresh start...and a partridge in a pear tree :D

I know waaahh, waaahh, waaahhh....Sad thing, this is pretty typical :dizzy:

I got a Pilates machine late last week, and was able to do that about 3 times, and walked only once...but vow to do even better next week!

I have found that I am going to be better prepared in the way of having my pantry stocked better with more SB foods, and some things cooked ahead on Sunday, I know that will help.

I'm making some "Real Deal" chili tomorrow (from the new Martha FOOD magazine), if it is good, I'll post the recipe.

MAEMAE--you have adorable kids! Congratulations on your new job too!

MUSICTEACH--I teach college biology and zoology--3 of my classes are online, 1 is on-campus, and 1 is a hybrid (or a combo of the two) I love it, and love the flexibility it gives me with my schedule--with 3 little ones, I would have to miss so many classes when they are sick--this way, I don't, although I'm up to midnight many times trying to get caught up.

FILLISE--I enjoyed and appreciated your explaination of the UA mascots and nicknames! I always wondered about that....and about Auburn too! And although I'm an Ole Miss alum, I will
root(sp?) for Auburn when they are playing 'Bama :^:

DEBBIE--The tips you give are great and much needed at this time!

The Friday Funnies were so good, my hubby enjoyed them too!

Well, here's to the first week being almost over!
I'm going to bed! Yea!

Greetings all. Thanks for the birthday wishes I had a nice quiet day. I've been lurking in the background a bit this week. Having a real blue week and haven't much felt like joining in. Those funnies sure have put a smile on my face tho. I've been sitting here having a giggle while I read, DH thinks I've gone mad!

Have a nice weekend all. I can feel the mood lifting a little.

Hello Everyone!

Well, here’s my long post! Hopefully I can catch up with everyone!! Last night I fell off the wagon – but I’m right back on today. I went after work to Chili’s and had 2 beers and 2 margueritas (sp?) and then I had chicken fajitas. They were yummy! But, I’m back on today with no intention of cheating. :D We do have a party tonight for our Mardi Gras Krewe but I’m going to be the Designated Driver so I won’t have any drinks or illegal foods! Don’t worry!

I missed Friday Funnies yesterday because I couldn’t get on the website. So, I’m going to add a Saturday Silly! Here it is!

LOUISIANA GHOST STORY

This story happened about a month ago in a little town in

Louisiana, and while it sounds like an Alfred Hitchcock

tale, it's real. Read to the end.

This guy was on the side of the road hitch hiking on a very

dark night in the middle of a storm. The night passed slowly

and no cars went by. The storm was so strong he could

hardly see a few feet ahead of him.

Suddenly he saw a car slowly looming, ghostlike, out of the

gloom. It slowly crept toward him and stopped. Reflexively,

the guy got into the car and closed the door, then realized

that there was nobody behind the wheel. The car slowly

started moving again. The guy was terrified, too scared to

think of jumping out and running. The guy saw that the car

was slowly approaching a sharp curve. The guy started to

pray, begging for his life; he was sure the ghost car would

go off the road and he would plunge to his death, when just

before the curve, a hand appeared thru the window and

turned the steering wheel, guiding the car safely around the bend.

Paralyzed with terror, the guy watched the hand reappear every

time they reached a curve. Finally, the guy gathered his wits and

leaped from the car and ran to the nearest town.

Wet and in shock, he went into a bar and voice quavering,

ordered two shots of tequila, and told everybody about his horrible,

supernatural experience. A silence enveloped everybody when they

realized the guy was apparently sane and not drunk.

About half an hour later two guys walked into the same bar. One

says to the other, "Look Boudreaux, that's dat idiot that rode

in our car when we was pushin it in the rain."

For those of you who aren’t from around here (South Louisiana) we have what we call Boudreaux (pronounced Boo-droe) jokes. And that was one of them. They kind of mock the Cajun people here. We are known around the world as some of the dumbest people – and I can’t IMAGINE why – being that they always put the “pick of the litter” on TV when something happens around here! You know – well, let’s find the dumbest, scrappy person with no teeth – well 1 tooth – to talk on TV! Unbelievable! You actually have to say these jokes with a certain accent to fully appreciate them!! Haha – there are millions of them!

Ok here’s my attempt to catch up with everyone!

HEART: Way to go on the exercising! :high: I can’t wait to get back out there myself!

MUSIC: Don’t drag yourself back on – you run and jump on girl!! Get right back on that wagon – don’t wait any longer!

QUILTER: Don’t you just hate it when people open tempting foods around you? I’m proud of you for not sticking that hand in the bag – you did the right thing – you went into the kitchen and fixed a salad! I agree with you about Star Search models! I have to admit I am kinda hooked on the show though. Some of those models look like they are prancing or marching – what’s with that? I am also starting to not like Naomi Judd. She’s rough on them. She’ll say – I really liked you, you have a lot of potential, yadda yadda and then say 2! Whatever! She’s always got some story! Aggrivating!

MONET: Ok – I’m gonna ask a stupid question…..what in the **** were you doing walking barefoot on a treadmill? You should know better than that girl! You shouldn’t exercise period with no shoes on – that can’t possibly be good for your feet and legs!! :nono: I hope you get better soon!!!! I love that Friday funny! I’ve received it a few times through e-mail and I crack up every time!

JACK-K: I agree with you on the Friday philosophy!! That’s how it is here too!

GRACIOUS: You and I sound a lot alike! I pigged out last weekend :ink: – then had to take all that crap off this week! Doesn’t that suck?! Keep us posted on your AVON progress! You will be a great Avon lady!

MOM2MARSH: I had to laugh at your dropped on the head comment because my sister did drop me on my head!! HAHA! That’s what’s wrong with me! I blame anything that goes wrong in my life – I’m talking anything – on her! I say “If you wouldn’t have dropped me on my head – I wouldn’t be having this problem!” HAHA! Hope all went well!

DEB: I’m SURE that fanny pack shrank – in no way was it weight gain! Everything shrinks at my house all the time!! HAHA! Seriously, if you had never washed it before – I’m sure it did shrink some! Sounds like the volunteering is going well – keep us posted!

TRANQUIL: Way to go on being OP! Fired up! :flame: I was doing great until last night but I’m not going to let that slip take me off plan today! If I can get right back on I’m ok – it’s when I let myself continue to slip here and there – that I fall off the wagon and then the wagon is dragging me down the main street of town! Get my drift? Hope you are feeling better soon!

MEL: What happened to your ankle? I must have missed that! That had to have happened while I was MIA! Hope you feel better soon!!!

TRISH: Don’t you just love when your family members share their sickness with you? How kind of them! My hubby was sick all week – and still is – so I’ll probably be next. He never gets sick! He spent last Friday afternoon at school with me so I really think he got it from there. I guess Teachers build somewhat if a tolerance to the germs. Don’t get me wrong I do get sick –but I guess with this last bout of the flu, I got kind of lucky (knock on wood!)

YELLOW: WARNING! Whenever you see CAJUN food and you are not in South Louisiana – it is NOT CAJUN FOOD!!!!! Whenever we have been on trips and we see Cajun food – we usually stop in to see what they have and to get a good laugh! They seem to think that if you pour a ton of seasoning or hot sauce on it – that it is Cajun! :yikes: What a huge insult to our culture!! You will have to come here to experience the real thing my friend! So, when we have the New Orleans get together – be there for some good food!

MOMOF3REDS: Your week sounds a lot like mine! Haha! You happen to teach the subjects that I SUCK at! I had such a hard time in ZOO – in college! I think I took it 3 times! Actually, I took it when my dad was paying for school – I didn’t have a brain then. When I started paying for my school after I got married, I realized that I actually did have a brain! Haha! I went from almost flunking out to being on the President’s & Dean’s List! HAHA! Amazing what paying for your own school will do to you! Now – I’m a teacher! Imagine that!

ACW: Sorry to hear that you have been “blue” this week. Glad that you had a nice birthday! Get back on the board – that ALWAYS makes me feel better!!

Ok – I think that catches me up a bit! Y’all have a wonderful weekend and I’ll try to post again tomorrow!!

Good Saturday Moring.

I am glued to the TV with this shuttle disaster. I think I will never watch another take-off or landing. I was watching when the Challenger exploded and I was watching this morning when this was to land. I haven't watched in between so I'm not watching anymore of them. How tragic for those astronauts and their families. I am sending many prayers for them.

Well we did go for Mexican last nite. I had my triscuits to dip in the salsa and had a taco salad and ate only the inside. Drank water. But boy did it kill me during the night. I was up all night with an upset stomach. Guess I won't eat there again. Last week we ate at Hooters and it bothered me all night.

Just finished my WATP tape. Now have to run to the store to get a wedding present. Going to dinner with friends tonight. Shouldn't have any trouble with eating.

Trish, hope you are feeling better. Get some rest this weekend.

Quilter, No I missed the beginning of the show about the little girl. Glad I did. Sounds like you had a great day at home especially with your eating. Weekends are my biggest problem, not so much with eating bad, I just don't get my fruit and water in. I need routine.

Yellow, What a bummer about your lunch. I hate that. You should have sent it back.

Mom, sounds like you have had a rough week. Hope you are feeling better. At least you got some exercise in.

ACW, glad you had a nice birthday. Sorry you are feeling blue. Hop back on here. we'll cheer you up.

Fruit, Boy am I jealous of those margaritas. They're my favorite. You will have to get some SF mix. I ordered it from Baja Bob's on-line. Pretty good. Have a good OP day.

You all have a great day. Don't forget to pray for the astronaut's families.

Hi All:

My grandmother called and woke me up this morning to tell me to turn the tv on...sad news...

On a happier note: I made a spinach/artichoke/parmesan casserole I found on the Low Carb Recipes on 3FatChicks and it came out fantastic!!! There is a large pot of black beans cooking at the moment and starting to make the house smell yummy. I am going to try a recipe I saw for chicken/cream cheese/italian dressing seasoning packet cooked in the crockpot - I bought the 1/3 less fat cream cheese....will let you all know how well it goes over in this house.

Bad News: A French Bistro is opening up a block from my house and it is being opened by the owners of my favorite other Bistros in Jacksonville!!! Not only do they have devine food, wine and salads - their desserts are deadly! I hope it is just so expensive that I can never go - hahahaha!!!!!

JackK - I am right there with you - I remember watching the first tragedy and now this.... On Wednesday I am taking DS to our office Happy Hour at Hooters because he loves their wings! I would probably have a terribly upset tummy too, so I have it in mind to just order a salad and have unsweet tea. Good for you eating well with your triscuits!!!!

Fruit - The wagon is on its way!!!! It is hard to stay op when at Chilis and there is that 2 for 1 happy hour all day long on their wonderful Margueritas!!!

ACW - I am sorry I am behind everyone else - But Happy Belated Birthday!!!!!

Momof3Reds - Hang in there!!! Your first week all gone, now you are on the right track!!!!

YellowRose - What a disappointment!!! Thank goodness for salad!!!! :D

Quilter - WAY TO GO GIRL!!!! I would take a 1/2 pound any day!!!! Keep up the good work!!!!!! Well if you ever come to my neck of the woods, I will take you to the gorgeous little bead shop around the corner from my house. It is always very busy!!!

Trish - Hope you are feeling better!!!

Well off to my Winter ("Spring") Cleaning...I am tearing this house apart from top to bottom and it is starting to look like a home again!!!

Sad, sad news this morning. I hope all the Texas gals aren't having to cope with falling debris.

I'm trying to clean house this morning. Have been shredding office materials for three days straight--still much more to do, but at least I'm starting to see the surface of my desk!

Yes, sad, sad news. I was standing on the tennis court when the Challenger exploded. We all stopped playing to watch the shuttle go up. You can see them from Orlando. We saw something "funny" and realized that it didn't look just like the other launches. But it was not until I got home that I found out about that disaster.

Yellow, hope the recipe turns out just right for you. I bet it would be better with the crust partly baked. The edges of the filo get brown and very crisp when baked, so I would probably try it making the "crust" just partway up the sides. That way, the filling would cover the whole crust and you would not have the problem with the edges getting too brown with a second baking. Let me know how it turns out.

We are waiting on guests to arrive any minute. We will have some people staying here tonight, and then they leave and we will have some more arriving tomorrow and staying through Wed. So I will be very busy. I even have a schedule of everything I have to do for the next 4 days that I carry around with me. I'm afraid that I will forget something if I don't have a list. Our big conference starts tonight and the husband staying here is the speaker tonight and tomorrow. The other couple coming tomorrow will be speaking on all the other days.

I fixed part of the meal for the dinners being held Sun. through Wed. My assignment was the starch. Can you believe it. I ended up getting stove top stuffing and doctoring it up with more onions, celery, lots of apples, raisins and pecans. Too bad it won't be on my plate tonight. I have never fixed stove top stuffing. This was my first time. I got 4 huge boxes at Sams. My DH remarked that it probably had a zillion calories.

Well, hope everyone has a great weekend.
Au revoir.

Hey All:wave:

Just a quickie until I can get some time alone to post. As you all know, I, and others, couldn't get on the board last night, nor could I this morning-thank goodness it's now up and running!

I join in with the rest of the Nation with my thoughts to those we lost in the space shuttle today. I was in the car and was listening to the TV station when I heard they had lost contact, I had chills and goosebumps, I just knew it wasn't good news, I felt it and then of course, it was confirmed by later from updates. I called ROSE to see if she heard anything in Dallas, she had not. BUT, I did call my friend in Zavall, TX when I heard that they were reporting from Nacatoshes (spelling is wrong), which she lives near and that her sister lives there. She said she did hear the sounds but nothing like at her sister's house where the ground and windows shook. A neighbor of theirs found a piece of the shuttle in their back yard. I'd be running - that alone is scary in itself, what could happen with contact from that.

Anyhow, gonna try to get on here later, I booted Michael off for a minute so I could check e-mail and to see if the board was up.

Went to a baby shower today. I won the word scramble game and got a very nice prize...a bottle of Shalimar and a watch! I love Guerlain fragrances...my usual is Samsara, so I was thrilled. My daughter claimed the watch! We found out we were close to our Jamaican friends new house and went to visit them. I had not gotten to see the house when they moved in, because I was sick with Mono. My husband helped them move, but made me stay home in bed! We did not realize HOW close we were to the house until we got there. It was only about two blocks from where the shower was, but we ended up going all the way around the whole area to get there! We stayed for dinner, pizza ordered and delivered. I only ate one piece. That was the first 'cheat' I have had since New Years. I came home to a messy kitchen...hubby had fixed himself some Bison burgers for dinner. I think I am going to ignore it until tomorrow. I am just too tired to deal with it now! Time to curl up with a good book and turn the electric mattress pad on.

BOB: Sounds like a loose belt on the washing machine. Hope it is something that easy!

GATOR: Hope everything goes well at 'Hotel Gator'! I hope your conference goes well. Didn't you say it was at your church? You mentioned you were from North Georgia... inquiring minds want to know...where in North Georgia?

FILLISE: You can save all those shreds of documents and use it as packing material! :) Or stuffing for pillows!

TRANQUIL: You know you can deal with the bistro...just don't ever walk in there. Remind yourself as you walk on by, white flour and sugar is poison! You don't want to do that to yourself! Nothing tastes as good as thin feels.

JACK: Sorry the salsa bothered you. Sometimes stuff will bother me and other times it won't. Wish I knew why. I used to love hot stuff, and now I am a bit afraid of it!

FRUIT: I loved your Saturday Silly. Being the designated driver is good if it helps you stay OP! I am the permanent designated driver, cause I can't have alcohol while taking one of my medications. Sometimes, it makes me mad when I would really like a drink....

MOM: I get migraines too. They are a pain, and sometimes nothing helps. My massage therapist suggested sitting in a tub of hot water, and putting a bag of ice on my head. Believe it or not, it worked! You are welcome to whine all you want here. No apologies necessary! We all do it now and then, and it is so nice to blow off steam.

ACW: I am glad to hear you had a nice birthday. Hope the mood has lifted totally now. The daughter of a friend of mine just left for Bible school in New Zealand. Her mother told me she picked New Zealand because of Lord of the Rings... She thought it would be the most beautiful location she had to choose from!

TRISH: Sorry to hear you were sick. I hope you are all better now.

I am outta here!

Here's another cute Saturday Silly - you may have seen it before - I have but it always gives me a giggle. Being a 1st grade teacher - it really hits home!

A group of kindergartners were trying to become accustomed to the first grade. The biggest hurdle they faced was that the teacher insisted on no baby talk.
"You need to use 'big people' words," she'd always remind them. She asked Chris what he had done over the weekend. "I went to visit my Nana."
"No, you went to visit your GRANDMOTHER. Use big people words!" She then asked Mitchell what he had done. "I took a ride on a choo-choo." She said, "No, you took a ride on a TRAIN. Use big people words." She then asked Bobby what he had done. "I read a book," he replied. "That's WONDERFUL!" the
teacher said. "What book did you read?" Bobby thought about it, then puffed out his little chest with great pride and said, "Winnie the ****."

Ok - that's it! See y'all tomorrow!

Good Sunday Morning Everyone!

The house is quiet and it's early. ELI is off today but at work, kids are still asleep and I was up early, not in the mood to walk but instead post, so here I am:D

Not many garage sales around yesterday, was surprised, it was a gorgeous day out! Didn't find much of anything, at least not to talk about.

As mentioned, ELI is SUPPOSED to be off work today but still went in. They "borrowed" his assistant for another store, who was to be opening the store this week and when they took her out, left him high and dry and with having to cover her hours himself, so that's where he is. I haven't a clue what's going to be today, what we'll do, but I do know he wants to go up to Broward, he's dying for OLE OLE:)

Confession time-eating was terrible yesterday. I don't think I ate a single nutritious item, okay, maybe some fruit, but that's about it. That sugar devil:devil: just possessed my body for some unknown reason yesterday. I was so 100% OP and trucking along, feeling good and then "poof" this happens! Really and truly, I just don't know what got in to me, well, I do know now, it's sugar, garbage food, etc., but at the time, I don't know what I must of been thinking. Thinking about it now, I wish I could of stopped and thought about this, what WAS I thinking about? What seemed to set me off all of a sudden, out of the blue? Why didn't I use the 15 minute rule (wait 15 minutes and if you are still desiring it then have it). Gosh, now that I am REALLY thinking about it as I sit here and type, maybe, just maybe if I had REALLY thought about it it wouldn't of happened. Then again, could of have? Hmmmmm:chin: Anyhow, the urging desire of stepping on the scale sure as heck faded really fast after yesterday, too bad same didn't hold true with what I ate! BUT, today, I am going to try my darndest to get back on track, please, keep your fingers crossed for me!:cross:

BIGK called me yesterday to let me know that she was moving this weekend and would be without internet service for a while and to let you all know she misses you! She let me know that she got on the scale and was so pleasantly shocked to see a new low of 212lbs! She was sooo excited! She's now lost 40lbs since Oct., I believe she said. She was elated!!!! She told me to tell you all "HELLO!"

I was thinking:chin: so many of us mention different recipes we have made that are posted on the recipe boards what if we make a board within the recipe board for comments and reviews of the recipes we do try? Like, if we make it and like it (or don't like it) or what we may have experienced why making a certain recipe (like having to bake it less time) or what we may have done to improve upon it (like adding an ingredient), etc. etc. Any thoughts?????

MELF, I hope things settle down for you at work, it sounds absolutely crazy over there. I'm sure when they do that with patients not only do they not like it, but you don't either, and it surely doesn't seem to make a hard job any easier. At least you are able to get away for the retreat, you deserve this time! How'd it go?

TRANQUIL, glad to talk to you on Saturday! Did you get your house all spic and span? Gosh, I wish you could bring some of that energy and desire down to Miami and give it to me! Better yet, you can come down and use your own energy in my house! LOL!!! Heck, I don't ask for much! Glad to hear you continue to feel better every day, not only from being sick, but with being OP 100%. You are doing great and it shows! I don't know if us living closer would make us skinny minnies though, with all the great food you cook I think I'd be eating more (I just assume living closer would mean we'd be eating meals together more, you know). Please post the recipe for the casserole on the board (just give the credit to whoever posted it before) on the recipe board when you get a chance-sounds delish!

GRACIOUS, no need to duck, whatever works for you. I just imagine, being the weight you are and so close to goal that you could lose it that fast and that amout of weight. I know if I try that that it would be short lived and I'd gain it back plus more. I'd love to do it, but...

MEL, I actually wasn't looking for you per se. I had put in a search with the key word MIAMI and it was in a post from the board you were on, that MRSJIM was in Miami last week, so that's where I saw your post. My goodness woman, you've really, really gone crazy with this BFL. I'm dying to see you in person-you must be so muscular, not to mention tiny, tiny! Glad to hear your foot's doing better. As much as I wish you were with me at the starting gate, you know you'd been so far ahead of me, we really wouldn't of been running together after the first few minutes. I'm just sorry you missed the get together and the chance to have had the experience of running the WDW, plus of course, messing up your foot (clutzie!) Glad to see your post, BTW:D

JACKK, you had me laughing when I read your post Every year for Thanksgiving I say I would like to serve foot at one of the kitchens, but we never do it. And I'm sure they are happy you have never done it! LOL!!! Somehow, foot just doesn't sounds as good as turkey! LOL!!

TRISH, glad to see you're feeling better! Must of been feeling much better as I tried to call yesterday and no one was home;) Didn't leave a message. Just called to say "howdy!" Hope you are enjoying your weekend-hope this week isn't a roller coaster for you!!!!

QUILTER, I loved reading your post and about your willpower yesterday. I wish I could say the same. CONGRATS on the scale going down again-you deserve it and more, and more will come, or should that be go??? When I was at the food bank there were 2 other gals there already and then 2 others came, but just for about an hour or so. There are lots of people who come in and shop though, it was busy. I myself bought $12 worth of stuff, mostly chick peas and fruit, along with the bags of almonds which I know are a steal and are delicious. The elderly people ELI knows, Minnie and Morris, eat almonds daily and I got them a bag, they loved them and asked me to buy more, so I bought for us both. They don't have anything besides food, except for a few saundries, at least not that I've seen. I don't think you and Paul have to be athletes. Just walking, even with Maddie is wonderful. Not only does it help your weight loss, but it makes you feel good as well, helps get exercise for you all, but best of all, you get to talk and walk with your best friend! Some great together time. ELI used to walk with me longggg ago and I loved it-that was short lived and hasn't been repeated, now, it's just enough to get him home! I'm sure you'll find a happy medium!

ROSE, good to talk to you, even if it was briefly yeasterday. I did get the message you called, though not sure what time it was that you did. Ick, falafel for cornbread? I don't know about that one, the spices in their sure wouldn't seem to be that appetizing to me in cornbread, but that's just me. Have you made that falafel mix yet? I haven't seen the recipes you've posted on the board, but will definitely check them out-thanks for taking the time to add to the board!!!! Talk to you soon!!

MOM, many of us on the board post regularly and others not as much. We understand, it's not always easy for people to post daily on the board, sometimes not even weekly. You do what you can when you can-we all understand, trust me. Sounds like you are doing well, esp. with the exercise-keep up the great work!!!

ACW, glad to hear you had a nice birthday. When you are blue, this is the time to get on the board-that's what friends are for. Remember the song, "in good times, in bad time, I'll be on your side for ever more, that's what friends are for!" Not only is this a SB SUPPORT BOARD, this is a support board, in whatever you need support with. Oh, tell DH that he's not the first to think one being on this board has gone mad-I've laughed to the point of crying many times from reading this board!!!!!

FRUIT, glad to hear you are back on track, girl, those margaritas ALWAYS seem to do you in! You're driving the float? OMG! That sounds like fun! When it is???

BOB, do you EVER get off the phone? Tried calling you, busy busy. Do you just have the one line for calls and internet, or are you busy on both. Your Sweetie asked about you-told him I had tried to call you to find out how you were but...

MONET, where did you find the bison burgers? I've eaten buffalo but can't find it easily down here, and if I do, it's too expensive. Up in NC near my parents place there's a place that sells BEEFALO, they are never open when I go there though, so haven't tried it yet. Sounds like you had a nice time at that shower-glad to hear you were a winner!!!

Hi to everyone else!!!!!!

Okay gals, I'm outta here for now. Will check in this evening if/when the computer is free, if not, will have the new board up and running tomorrow morning!!!

This is hysterical. If it had been presented this way, none of us would have

POSITION: Mother, Mom, Mama

JOB DESCRIPTION: Long term, team players needed, for challenging permanent work in an, often chaotic environment. Candidates must possess excellent communication and organizational skills and be willing to work variable
hours, which will include evenings and weekends and frequent 24 hour shifts on call. Some overnight travel required, including trips to primitive camping sites on rainy weekends and endless sports tournaments in far away cities. Travel expenses not reimbursed. Extensive courier duties also required.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The rest of your life. Must be willing to be hated, at least temporarily, until someone needs $5. Must be willing to bite tongue repeatedly. Also, must possess the physical stamina of a pack mule and be able to go from zero to 60 mph in three seconds flat in case, this time, the screams from the backyard are not someone just crying wolf. Must be willing
to face stimulating technical challenges, such as small gadget repair, mysteriously sluggish toilets and stuck zippers. Must screen phone calls, maintain calendars and coordinate production of multiple homework projects. Must have ability to plan and organize social gatherings for clients of all ages and mental outlooks. Must be willing to be indispensable one minute, an embarrassment the next.

POSSIBILITY FOR ADVANCEMENT & PROMOTION: Virtually none. Your job is to remain in the same position for years, without complaining, constantly retraining and updating your skills, so that those in your charge can ultimately surpass you.

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE: None required unfortunately. On-the-job training offered on a continually exhausting basis.

WAGES AND COMPENSATION: Get this! You pay them! Offering frequent raises and bonuses. A balloon payment is due when they turn 18 because of the assumption that college will help them become financially independent. When you die, you give them whatever is left. The oddest thing about this reverse-salary scheme is that you actually enjoy it and wish you could only do more.

BENEFITS: While no health or dental insurance, no pension, no tuition reimbursement, no paid holidays and no stock options are offered; this job supplies limitless opportunities for personal growth and free hugs for life if you play your cards right.

Okay, I couldn't wait til next weeks Friday Funnies to post this one, I had to laugh:lol: when I read this!!!! Had to share!

A gastroenterologist claims these are actual comments made by his patients made while he was performing colonoscopies:

1. "Take it easy, Doc, you're boldly going where no man has gone before."
2. "Find Amelia Earhart yet?"
3. "Can you hear me NOW?"
4. "Oh boy, that was sphincterrific!"
5. "Could you write me a note for my wife, saying that my head is not, in fact, up there?"
6. "You know, in some states, we're now legally married."
7. "Any sign of the trapped miners, Chief?"
8. "You put your left hand in, you take your left hand out. You do the Hokey Pokey...."
9. "Hey! Now I know how a Muppet feels!"
10."If your hand doesn't fit, you must ah-quit!"
11. "Hey, Doc, let me know if you find my dignity."
12. "You used to be an executive at Enron, didn't you?"

Good Sunday Morning Everybody!

Did anybody else have trouble getting on the board last night. I guess is was about 8 p.m. and I just couldn?t get the page to load. Same dumb error messages as before.

Well, we had a good day yesterday. Helped SIL move some big pieces into her new house. But boy, is my back screaming this morning. Not really scream, just really stiff. Their house is nice. It?s not very big, but has some pretty detailing and a good floor plan. I?m not much for all white walls, but if I know my SIL, that will change after the first year. She?s really good at picking out beautiful colors. Anyways, a special Thanks to JACKK for the suggestion to pack my own legal lunch. I did and that worked out great!!! So my eating was great again yesterday.

Last night something weird happened. I got really blue. Really down in the dumps. I?m not sure what started it. I may have just been tired and bored. But I just started feeling kind of sad. I told Paul and he sat down with me and started asking me what was causing it. At first I kept saying, ?I don?t know, I don?t know.? Then all of a sudden before I even realized it I popped out with, ?I?m just so nervous that I?m going to fail again at trying to get the excess weight off.? And boy, did the tears start rolling. I told him how being fat made me feel and how I felt like a general F-up and that if I didn?t succeed this time I was going to feel like an even better one. This led into my low self-esteem and all that crap.

Whew! What a cleansing. I feel so much better this morning. It was really neat though because I told him that I?ve never felt good about my body image. And anytime I thought I might look halfway decent, there were other sentences that automatically follwed the good thoughts in my head. Those sentences were things like ?but my butt is SOOOO wide? or ?I bet people think I look like a cow.? Really self damaging things like that. I think it?s really taken its toll on me over the years. Paul just sat there through all this with his arm around me and said, ?Well, you will succeed. And you will need to come up with a new sentence to follow all your thoughts. The one he liked best (and I did too) was ?and I have nothing to wear, because all my clothes are too big.? Isn?t that a good one? He?s so clever. After that I went and wrote all those thoughts down in my journal and then had a really nice peaceful sleep.

Sorry about talking about such a downer moment, but I was wondering if we all get to those spots where all the insecurities come bubbling to the surfact and if you all have moments where you are overwhelmed. How do you all handle those times? Do you try to squash them down and ignore or do you bring them right out into the open? Oh well, the really great thing I was down 2 more pounds this morning. So that?s 2.5 since Wednesday. That was a pretty nice pay off this morning.

One more thing and I?ll quit rambling. One thing that I think is helping me stay on track is that we moved our bedroom to the second floor of the house. And if I want a snack I have to walk all the way downstairs to get it. Some times it?s just not worth (or important enough for) the extra effort.

Okay, now to you all.

YELLOWROSE----Sounds like your cajun-esque was anything but. Too bad. How can they advertise food so incorrectlly? Oh well, at least you had the salad. Thanks for reminding us to check out the quarterly recipe board. I need to go there.

MOMSOF3----If you are doing most of your work online and you have that many emails, I can bet that getting online for fun is difficult to do. That sounds like a lot of work. But it does sound interesting. You week truly sounds like a killer. Were you screaming ?Calgon take me away .. . .? Be sure and tell us about your Pilates machine. Where did you get it.

ACW---Hey, I?ve had the same kind of thing happen around birthday time. The blues just sort of come in and take over for a few days. I think birthdays are a time to celebrate, but I think sometimes all I want to do is take stock of my life and find out if I?m doing (have done) the stuff that?s important to me. And that?s when the blues hit for me. I hope you get to feeling better. You know you are part of this really fun group who wants only the best for you. When you feel like talking, we are always here. And you know by now that we?ve always got opinions and advice. Ha!

FRUIT----Well, you go girl on the beers and marguaritas. Ain?t it true that once you start, the others just follow naturally. I?m like that with wine. I love having glass after glass. But I hate a wine hangover, so I will not go over 2 glasses no matter what. Glad to hear you are still up and back on program. How was the Mardi Gras? Thanks for your nice words about my sitcking to the ?no Doritoe? plan. He got them out again last night. Frankly, I wish he?d eat them all at one sitting and be done with it. I know what you mean about those models and the marching business. Do you think they are just so nervous (and so dumb) that they forget how to walk. Geesh! They all look like they are a heartbeat away from a nervous breakdown anyways. Yes, Naomi Judd is telling it like it is. I?ll bet she is thinking that nobody gave her such a huge break, so I?m not either. Did you see the night she gave the comic a 1? Man, that was cold! Do you think Carol Leafer is sitting their cursing her agent for this gig? Sometimes she looks like she couldn?t care any less about being there and that she?s kind of humiliated. Like, here?s my score, now just get the camera off me.

JACKK----So sorry to hear that your suppers are not agreeing with you. What do you take when this happens? Any kind of antiacid? Perhaps there?s one thing that you are allergic to. For me it is onions, I really have to watch myself with them. They tear me up inside. I know what you mean about having an easier time during the routine of the weekdays. Although this week, I am going out to lunch on Tuesday. But I?ve already asked the person I?m meeting if we can go somewhere healthy. So we?ll see. But I?d far rather, just stick to my lunchbox. It never betrays me. LOL

TRANQ----Wow, who doesn?t want to be at your house for meals? Sounds like you were a cooking fiend. That?s great. And that?s the smartest way to stay on program. When we leave our meals to the last minute, that?s when the bad choices come in. At least that?s the way it is for me. You are doing great. Was that Casserole difficult? You have a bead store right around the corner. Oh gosh, I would be in the poor house if mine were that close. LOL Good luck on your winter/spring cleaning. Think how good you?ll feel when spring gets here!

HEART---Thanks for the info on the bread. Winn Dixie owns the chain up here called Thriftway. Believe it or not, there are no Super Walmarts around here. I?m not sure why. I think we have too many other kinds of grocery stores. And this is Krogers headquarters. So they are everywhere. Do you have Krogers?

MONET----Wow, those are really nice game prizes at the shower. Must have been pretty upscale. You are so nice to share your winnings. What a good mom. Sorry to hear you had to go with the pizza yesterday. Sometimes there?s no other choice and you hate to make people feel bad by not eating anything. But you have done really well. And if you?d been in charge, you would have not had that for dinner. Sometimes, it just can?t be helped. I hate messy kitchens. Better to tackle when you have your wits and energy about you. LOL

DEB----I don?t quite understand your idea of the comments for the recipes. Would we post the recipe and then put our comments right beneath it. Or would we just have comments by themselves. Because if I was browsing the recipe board and saw something, I wouldn?t want to go have to hunt down the review of it. Unless the person listed where their review was going to be. I?ll bet I?m getting this totally wrong. Have I got this all pictured incorrectly? Sorry the sugar demon took control. Track when it happened and then see if there?s a correlation to anything else that?s going on. That way if you know what the trigger is, then possibly you can try to outwit the villain. That food pantry sounds like a fun time and a great place to save some money. What a wonderful service to the community! You are right about not having to be an athlete. Now that the evenings are getting lighter, I am going to really try and get Paul out there for a walk. Maddie has a bad leg in the back and I?m wondering if the exercise would do it any good. You funnies were hilarious. I have to copy and send to some friends who can really relate to the mom one.

Well, that?s it for me. Time to eat some breakfast. And then on to tackle the room to be painted. I have most of the books off the shelf. But that?s such a job. Then I want to vacuum and wipe down the walls. That will be it for today, because there?s a massive laundry session that needs to take place before the workweek begins. Take care.

Later,
Kim

Hi All:

Going to have some relaxing fun today with getting out in the sunshine and fresh air with DS and Hound. First, I have to make some eggs for breakfast for us and then off we go....

Quilter - Your post was really heartwrenching in that you made me feel so NOT alone! I too go through moments of sadness and the low self-esteem and it can be so damaging in any efforts I make towards the positive....but it is good that you got it out of your system to someone and you are doing great with 2.5!!!! Good idea to make it more difficult to get that snack. I too hesitate to go down the stairs to get stuff as well - so good move on moving the bedroom :)

Deb - Just let me know when you want me and mine to head your way, and I can pick up any hitchhikers on the way too (BigK, hint, hint!) but you are so silly about the house - your house is CLEAN!!!! This time I will bring a big cooler with me to carry all the goodies back :) I, too, am happy to be feeling better. Such a drag to not feel good.... I will copy the recipe and put it on our board ....

Monet!!! Shalimar, wow, what a great gift to win at a shower!!!! I like Guerlain products as well...In the France area of EPCOT they have a Guerlain store and they will do a make over as well...it is a lot of fun - you walk out pretty and smelling so good! hahaha I will start my chant when I see that restaurant, Poison, Poison...hahaha

Well let me post the recipe, make breakfast and head on out of here!

Sabrina :)

Anybody have any tips for starting again, or help not falling off in the first place?

QUILTER: I can relate to your downer experience...I get that a lot. I don't think mine is necessarily fear of not succeeding, but despair that it never will. I just can't seem to make any progress, even without cheating, and taking all kinds of prescription medications to help 'fix' my metabolic problems. Some times, I just think, why bother? I felt that way yesterday. I may just tell the doctor this week to forget the meds, and leave me alone. Then I can just exercise, and eat well, and forget the scale or losing weight. It has taken me three years to lose 40 pounds. At this rate, it will be another 5 before I get anywhere near goal, but that would mean continuing on all these expensive prescriptions, and I am just so discouraged and fed up, I am not sure if I want to continue this way. Any indiscretion results in a gain, and it all seems pointless. Its hard to enjoy life with you are obsessed with weight. What a great thing for you to share with your hubby your feelings, and his response must have melted your heart. Emotionally healing comes best when we cry, and have someone who loves us there to give physical comfort. I hope you keep doing as well as you have since Wednesday. Just remember weight is not everything. You are warm, loving, and so talented! Love yourself, we all love you.

DEB: There is a farmer's market here that was started by Harry's brother long before Harry's was in existence. They sell bison meat there.

TRAN: I have never been to Epcot, if I ever make it there, I will look for the shop! Hope you enjoy the outdoors and sunshine. My hubby and daughter are heading out today to TreeClimbers. Its a nice day for it here, and I am thrilled. One of the best health food stores is located near where they go, and he stops and gets me stuff on the way home! :)

FRUIT: How cool that you teach first grade! I love that age! I used to be the director of first and second grade Sunday school for my church. We had about 350 kids in the program, and I worked with them so long, I now feel like my humor and actions are decidedly tuned to that age!

SUGAR: Glad to see you back. Drink lots of water to aid your detox, and my tip would be to re-read the SugarBusters book, or other books on sugar, and the GI. I found Montignac's book really inspiring, but it is hard to find. If you can find it and afford it, get it. It just seems to make such a persuasive case for getting the sugar out, that I have only cheated once in over a month, and then it was not all that bad a cheat...just a piece of pizza. You can do it! Just stick it out and you will be over that detox before you know it!

AFTERNOON EVERY BUDDY!!!

I put my mechanic's hat on and went to work on the washer....
I had been trying to wash a queen size quilt and thought maybe that it knocked the balance off kilter...I took out the quilt and put it into my by wash tub and then set out to try the cycles that way...no deal...when it gets to the part where it's supposed to drain and go into spin....NADA!!!! So much for hoping to fix it...
The fixit man will have to come out...These days, it's cheaper to buy a new one...we'll see....

DEB...You know the answer to that question...yes...I have only one line and am too cheap to get another one! ONLY I forgot to hook the phone back up and that means the phone was busy for NOTHING!!! Tell my SWEETIE hello for me and give him a big ole pinch on the arse!

QUILTER...That happens to me quite frequently...then I get a revelation and start back on plan...WE WILL SUCCEED at this...it will take us a little while, but we'll DO IT!!!

MONET....keep your fingers crossed that a belt is all it is..I feel lost without my washer...never have been able to understand how people get along without one and go to the laundry mat once a week

Well, I'm off to straighten up the junk room where the repairman
will have to be...it's a mess!

Hi All!

I just got back from Bed Bath & Beyond. I bought a really nice kitchen scale. We had gotten a gift card from there a couple of years ago, and I’d never even used it. Frankly, although there stuff is nice, I think it’s really high priced. So we just weren’t that keen about it. So I decided to get a scale to be able to weigh my food. It’s digital and has that option to weigh the container first and then there’s another feature that remembers the last thing you weighed. I was interested to know how many of you have and use a food scale. What would you usually use it for? I want to be able to weigh my fruits to see about these serving sizes.

MONET----Thank you for the kind words. In some ways it’s good to know that I’m not alone in my blue times. But I really wouldn’t wish it on anybody else. Especially those I love so much on this board. I’ve been thinking a lot about what you said. Here’s what I think those of us who are doing the “slow route” to weight loss should do. Since the pounds are dropping off like flies, we need to celebrate each tiny victory. Each pound or half pound is a tiny victory. And when we get enough of those tiny victories, we’ll see some results. Like our clothes will become looser or even our wedding rings won’t seem so tight. That kind of thing. Then after that there will be something else to notice. Like maybe our faces will seem slimmer and then somebody will notice our weight loss. Or we may get to start buying a smaller size of clothes. That long-range goal of mine seems very far away. And to tell you the truth I can’t begin to even picture myself at 140 or 135 pounds. But I can picture myself getting into some of the clothes that are too tight. I can picture myself in one particular jumper that I haven’t been able to wear for years and would love to get into. I am such a visual person, that I think I need a picture of something good to urge me on. God knows those Christmas party pictures were the bad visual to get me moving in the right direction. Anyways, I just want you to know that I’m really proud of you for losing 40 pounds. That’s a lot of weight. Think of those big bags of dog food for a visual equivalent. And even though you are not where you want to be on the scale and are struggling with each pound, you are much better off than you were 3 years ago. Hang in there, dear friend. We are all behind you.

TRANQ----Well, girlfriend, I think it’s so empowering for us to do the right thing. I feel so great when I am making the right choices as to what to eat or to do some exercises. I think that’s the best thing for our times of shakey self-esteem. If we can just keep focused and keep telling ourselves that sometimes we have “stinkin’ thinkin” and we aren’t right about what others are thinking about us. I know that when I’m down, I am absolutely positive that everybody I know thinks I’m a big loser. Now, when my brain is working correctly, I know those negative thoughts are pure rubbish. But it’s always hard when working through a time like that. I just figured I’d better come clean with how I felt yesterday. I think any kind of experience can be a learning one. I learned it works to voice the issues and to write about them in my journal.

BOB---Way to go on fixing the washer. I am so impressed. I wouldn’t know the first thing to do. You are super woman!!!!! Thanks for your kind words. You are right. We will succeed. Hey, is that Skeeter boy in the picture? And if so, why did he turn his head away from the camera? Is he being a shy boy? Or is he in the witness protection program?

Well, that’s it for me. Just wanted to touch base again. Take care.

Kim,

Skeeter HATES his picture taken...he always turns away from the camera if he can do it fast enough...
You read wrong.....I didn't get the washer fixed...I have to wait on the repair man to come. There is probable something in the drain...OR hopefully like MONET says...just a belt!

I use my scale to weigh meat mostly..but you can sure use it for a lot...Debbie uses hers all the time..You must have one like hers..she can weigh her bowl and then add her ingredients by the scale. You will love it

I'm cooking chicken... gotta go...

Hello all! I've got my youth groups all in their meetings for the night so I have a little time to breathe until parents come to pick them up!

BOB--cute picture of Skeeter--Belle always turns away too, plus her eyes just glow red. She looks positively evil in her pictures  Hope the WM gets fixed soon! Um, I think Gator was recounting her memories of when the Challenger exploded, not claiming to have seen yesterday's mishap on the tennis court.

Quilter--You are NOT alone! I suspect we've all felt like that--I know I've had those crying spells when I get down in myself. It's a bitter experience, but cathartic. It's much better to let the feeling out then to keep stuffing them down (you know what I mean). I had a food scale once and really enjoyed it. Unfortunatly it quit working about 2 weeks after I got it, I took it back but haven't gotten a new one. it was VERY educational to see what normal portion sizes were supposed to look like!

Monet--you should bother because you are worth it!!!!! Even if we never lost another pound this WOE is just plain healthier than the way we were going!

Sugar--get back on the wagon--I'll climb on board with you. This weekend (heck, week) hasn't been the best for me either.

Deb--I liked # 5 personally--about the note to the wife. Everytime my DD comes back from having that procedure done my mother claims that the Dr. has certified him a "perfect a**hole!"

Gator--I saw an Apollo orcket blast off once, it is one of the most incredible things I've ever seen. I can't imagine what it must be like for the folks that have debris from Columbia in their yards. So sad.

OK got to go get ready to send the munchkins home. Talk to you tomorrow!

For some strange reason, I'm actually looking forward to Monday and a fresh start! Could it be that I feel so renewed after a slightly rocky start last week? Or could it be that my children did not take a nap Friday, Saturday, or Sunday?;) Hmmmm, probably a little of both! They have worn me out this weekend for sure! I did manage to have their lunches fixed for the week (all but the entree), fix a double batch of tuna salad, send hubby out for the groceries, and get caught up with all my email.

Thanks again for the support! I hope everyone has a great week!
