Im def back in. I don't know what my weigh in will be, i know it'll be in the 80's . . . . sigh. Such is life.

I've come to see how much it helps me though, having a place to be accountable.

I don't know if my month is going to be scale oriented, not likely, but it will be number oriented :)

Minutes on treadmill (Hiking)
Minutes on Treadmill (C25K)
Crunches
Squats
Pushups
Lunges

Yup . . . those are the major ones Im focussing on. I don't think I have a 'goal' number set in mind, but thats what im working on. Every day, 2 of those numbers have to go up at least :) :)

Gotta change it up some how right?

I'm in! August was rough for me, and I'm ending it with a relapse of sickness I have been fighting for two or three weeks. Still, though I has a small regain and am struggling to lose more right now, I am committed to keeping up what I know works and I WILL see the 180's!

Morning -- I'm back to 201.6 (for the 3rd time if anyone is counting) and ready to move to a lower number. I'm going for an official weigh in with my Dr. today and his scale is usually a little lower than mine, so I think I'll get to see 199 there -- but I won't officially celebrate until I see it at home. Anyway, I've lost exactly 5lbs in August, and I'm thrilled with this...best month I've had in a long time. :D

We have a movie date this afternoon with Cam's friend and we are going out to eat at Wendy's first. I've scoped out a salad, or I may just have the chili in the end. I'm not going to eat popcorn, as much as I want to I have to just go and not do it this time to show myself that it IS possible -- in fact I always used to go to movies and just have a diet coke (because I couldn't afford popcorn when I was younger) so I can get back to this - there just has to be a first step. I know this sounds ridiculously dramatic about popcorn, but I'm seriously addicted...lol.

Aimee -- I think the tummy upset is probably just reflecting the drastic change in your diet from vacation to healthy healthy smoothie. I wouldn't worry too much unless it lasts for more than 24 hours. I love lululemon, but I just can't bring myself to buy clothes for myself there -- I've bought gifts for friends, but it feels to indulgent to spend so much on myself for workout clothes (although when I was single with no kids I would have done it in a second!). I'll trade you and send you some other types of clothes and you send me those...lol.

Diana -- Maybe it's a 2 day sodium/MSG hangover you've got going on. You could try to fit some asparagus into your day today to help get rid of the last of it. Good job maintaining again this month!

Kukkie -- Sorry about the bounce back. It does sound like some water retention, do you have TOM now? Maybe some midol would help, it works for water retention...I use extra strength...lol.

I finished August with a -5.8lb loss. If you look at my stats from last year they are nearly the same for August. How odd, huh!

Mandy glad you and you workout buddy have a schedule in place. Have fun :)

Thanks Angie :congrat: on the 5lbs gone for the month :woohoo: I'm glad you keep refreshing me with the time we have left, I don't know what time frame I keep thinking of :dizzy: I keep thinking it's almost over, glad it's not :) TOM is coming early for my I think?? I'm so irregular, it's crazy :dizzy: Not dramatic at all, you know you and that is what matters.

Aimee, unpleasant in a nice way though feels good to get all that stuff out of you. I haven't done that in awhile actually not since Kukkie warned me last year about that senna tea I was drinking. But it's been awhile maybe I'm due. I just hate not knowing when it will actually work :?:
I am trying to figure out what I want to make a pot of to last me for about 3 days. thanks on the carbs and texture of the smoothy. :) I had to look up luluemon's . How does Josh feel about the sports wear? My daughter and I wear flip flops everywhere except to church on Sunday (my only dress up slacks day) but I do on Wednesday's. I went to Old Navy and bought every color they came in two years ago. We had to have two of the basic colors though but we have all kinds of flip flops. Love'm :D .... sorry about your stomach, that's a lot of roughage so it may be normal. Sorry about the cramping but enjoy the cleansing your weigh in will be great for sure. Hope it gets better.

StarGetsFit

Diana it's surely the MSG, it'll be gone soon  Congratulations on a month well done :high:

Kukkie Sorry about the gain  Forget about it and enjoy your day, maybe you can go get pampered together then have a romantic late lunch :)

Coondocks, busy lady  how's school going? Pretty intense workout you'll have going on there :)

I am down .2 to 165 for a 4 pound loss since Aug. 1 or 3.4 since July 31. :carrot: That's even with dinner #2 being leftover pizza! I am also very amused this morning because I went to tickerfactory to update my 'no longer obese' ticker and was greeted with an ad for sonic. LOL

Also, taking personals from one month to the next is kinda difficult, lol.

Angie - I'm sorry that the chips got to you. I hope your doc visit goes well. I understand about the popcorn, but it does get easier. I can now go to the movies with DH, let him get popcorn and completely ignore the stuff. I often take in my own though, airpopped without all that oil and nastiness.

Ona - There's nothing wrong with being a picky customer and getting what you want/need when it is for a good reason, and your health is a good reason. I'm sure the deli people don't really mind, especially not if you've told them why.

Rennie - The 8s zipping and such is definitely a big NSV for me and a huge step on my way to my goal for Jan. 1. I would like to be able to show up to my dad's 80th in a size 6. He has always worried about me because of my weight, especially when I was diagnosed as diabetic, and I don't want him to worry anymore. Tofu might be a good idea in the chili too, but by TVP I meant texturized vegetable protein (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Textured_vegetable_protein) I get it at Whole Foods and use it for tons of things, I love it. I'm sorry about Ryans, they used to be decent but seem to have gone downhill the last 5 years or so. Too funny about your daughter asking for the van, desperate times ...

Kukkie - I hope you and DH have a great time with whatever you decide to do to celebrate.

Aimee - Yep, it sounds like we're a lot alike in the goals department. It's one of the areas in life where the fact that I'm a bit OCD is helpful, lol

Jami - I am also hoping that at around the same time I hit goal weight DH and I might be able to sell this house and I might be moving to one with a better closet, so I will get a new closet and lots of tiny new clothes to fill it!

Diana - I don't use water anymore, I am just drinking straight lemon juice (usually a mix of lemon and lime). I use one of those disposable bathroom cups and drink at least one of those. I'm sorry you are having water weight issues.

Mandy - That is awesome about your workout buddy!

Gym time! Have a wonderful Wednesday everyone!

Start May 15 - 238
June 15 - 229 (-9 total wt loss)
July 15 - 222.4 (-15.6 total wt loss)
Aug 15 - 217.8 (-20.2 total wt loss)

Aug 2 - 218.2
Aug 31 - 212.8
Total weight loss for month of August: -5.4 lbs
Total weight loss: 25.2

I will take a 5.4lb weight loss with all of the fluctuations I had this month. My goal is only 4-8lbs a month; however, my official weigh in is on the 15th of each month. I hope everyone had a successful August!

LONG-TERM GOAL: NEVER SEE 215 again...soon to be 210
SHORT TERM GOAL: 209-213 by 9/15 (high-end goal already met!)

Just curious why some people list all the dates for the month? Originally I thought it was because we were updating the "original" post as someone stated, but most people just copy and paste into a new post because no one ever goes back to the beginning of the thread and looks at the original post.

I usually just add the new date and weight each day. Of course, by the end of the month the post will obviously be longer. Not a big deal, but just a lot of wasted space at the beginning of the month if we're not updating the original post? I don't know, maybe that's the way it used to be...

Have a great WI everyone

Roxy good job on the .2 down and seeing that number I so desire to see 165. :D My weigh in may have been better had I not come back downstairs last night and had turkey. I was starving it seemed :?: I did personals that way also. :) I'm sure your Dad will be super proud of you and your family will have a jaw dropping moment unless they've already seen you. You're very goal oriented so I have faith in you to make and even exceed that goal. Thanks for the TVP link. We don't have a whole foods store or anything close. I don't have a reason to drive up north other than that so I wonder if I can find it out here some place. Sounds like something I can eat daily maybe. I sure would love to try it and the spaghetti squash which I've thinking about for days. :) How many lemons/limes do you juice to fill that cup? I'm not supposed to do lemon juice at all because of sugar in it or something according to Dukan, but I'm curious. :) thanks

LGW good job on your 5.4lb loss for the month, job well done with the crazy schedules you had :) I always update my original post. It is for my own records, as I think it is the same for most of us that update the original post. I only post my lost/gain daily in a new post with all of my personals :D I don't think anyone thinks about the space IMHO and there are so many of us we always have to start a new thread for the second half of the month so it's all good. :)

MadameZ good to see you :)

Im PUMPEd for september, I haven't felt this excited in a LONG long time . . . . so refreshing, I think it's the rain and the lack of skin melting heat.

School is going smoothly, i think i've found a study time that works for me. I've managed to memorize and understand all the bones, ligaments, joints and major muscle groups, good lord LMAO.
Have to say, the best study tool i have is a game on my iPod i found, its great.

I need to get back to work . . . . BBL

Well, TOM ended up having his way with me. Jerk. I get to clock in a 2.4 lb loss for the month. I still have about 2lbs of his water left on me but I'm grateful to get a loss at all this month with all of my fluctuating and having such a terrible schedule.

I'm focused for September to work on regulating my schedule on the weekends and getting enough sleep and water. I am TIRED of losing the same water weight over and over each week!

Had a great workout last night. Treadmill for 50 minutes. Jogging and incline walking. Love.

Back from vacation and back to it. I'm 185.4 today which is a grateful drop of 2.6 from yesterday. Have a great day all.

Down to 141.8 this morning - a new low for me. I'm staring to (again!) reevaluate my goal weight. I started with 150, then when I got there realized I wanted to lose more. I'm getting close to my second "final" goal of 140. . .and I think I still want to lose more. I'm officially at a "normal" weight, but I'm just not done. So, I'm working on picking a new goal weight. I know I could just keep losing without a goal in mind, but I like having something to work towards.

Down 1.1 this morning which brings my August loss to -5.9 lbs. Woo hoo! I've been in the 250's for 43 days and counting folks and I am BEYOND ready to get the hellz outta here! :D So, that's clearly my biggest goal in September.

Rennie -- LOL! That story about your daughter asking to borrow the mini-van was HILARIOUS! Kids will do ANYTHING to get out of the house, won't they? And I've been fat for SO long that 98% of clothes in my closet are my size...just a few items that are too small. Will be nice to pull those from the back to the front soon. And I do actually LOVE fresh clam chowder, I just don't like the clams...to rubbery. :D

Kwigg -- Looks like you faired pretty well for the month. I'm glad you've found something helpful in this thread like I have. :)

Puneri -- I'm not sure but I'm guessing you were happy with your WI? Congrats on being below your ticker weight!!

Mandy -- Have fun with your gym buddy today!

Diana -- YAY for staying within or below your maintenance range for another month! Woo hoo!

Kukkie -- Sorry about the crazy up this morning. Have a great time hanging with your hubby no matter what you end up doing. ;)

Coondocks -- I like those numbers you're looking at girl! Glad to hear you're getting into the swing of things with school too!

Angie -- Good luck with the Doc today. I hope you do see that 199 even if it won't count yet. ;) And I SO know what you mean about movie theater popcorn. I SWEAR they sprinkle it with heroin or something! My DH always gets the large so he can get a refill! A refill?!?! Seriously?!?! Yeesh! I just checked out lulemon's and wow! Those are some pricey workout clothes! Good thing they don't have my size! :)

Roxy -- Funny about the Sonic ad on the tickerfactory website. Oh the irony!

LGW -- Great job this month girly!

Vixsin -- Boo for TOM but nice job holding on to that overall loss for the month!

Jeri -- Congrats on the new low! Woo hoo! Just curious as to what's spurring on the desire for a lower weight. I know some folks are more comfortable being just a bit below their normal range and I completely get that. Just wondering what it for you. Thanks.

Rennie -- Great job in August! We are now halfway through and we are more than halfway to our goal -- we rock! Ooooh! We don't have far to go at all...one (well one each) good whoosh is all we need.

Roxy -- I did think about bringing some of my own...but I feel embarrassed about doing it with friends along. I'm sure they wouldn't really care anyway - maybe I will do that.

Jeri -- You're doing great, can't wait to see you reach this next milestone. :)

Jami -- Awesome job in August. I know the final number doesn't reflect your efforts, can't wait to see you whoosh into the 240's in September. I did go to the doc, but I didn't get my pre-visit to ONEderland -- their scale had me at 201.5 -- I should have skipped the darn tea before I left, and if only they would let me undress a little! :lol3: I'm dying about the movie popcorn...heroin  Oh yeah, that's the other reason I don't buy lululemon...I can't fit into anything there...lol.

Jami, for my height, I could go all the way down to something like 120 and still be in the normal BMI range. I'm still hanging on to a lot fat around my stomach, and I really want to eliminate some of it. I know I'll never look like I did before I had kids unless I pay for some expensive surgery, but I can get closer!

went to the gym today and it felt great! we walked to the gym, i did a 5 minute warm up on the elliptical (to test my ankle) and then did 30 mins on a stationary bike at level 4 of 10 difficulty and the thing didn't measure in MPH but it did tell me i was on speed 12, roughly 80RPM or some such. MFP says i burned almost 500 calories today... i think it might be off a bit, but whatevs. i got my exercise in, and my ankle isn't hurting too much.

lunch is pb and apple butter on whole wheat with raw celery and carrots and a string cheese. yeah probably a bit high on the processed stuff, but i was craving PBJ and the apple butter is only 30 cals per tbsp. (much less than typical jellies and jams which are 50-70 per teaspoon).

feelin great after my workout ladies, and i'm looking forward to tomorrow morning's effort! hopefully i won't be too sore. gonna start september off right, and try to shake off the fact that i'm gonna be posting a gain for august. okay, i may have gained 5-10lbs (still haven't checked) BUT that doesn't completely negate the fact that even with a 10 pound gain, i've still dropped more than 40 pounds. going backwards is not failing if you turn around and get back on the right track... giving up completely is the only way to fail!

Not quite back down to my low for the month (242.4), but close enough for me! I'm reporting a 9lb loss for August. :carrot:

So I finally melted down this morning about 5:00. After not going to sleep until midnight and being up twice in those 5 hours (sick and teething kids), I just couldn't get up today... literally. It all caught up with me. My fantastic DH took the morning off and I got to sleep until 10:15. :D I feel so much better today than I have in months, I needed a little extra sleep. I also made it to the gym today for the first time this week! :)
I think that I've been exhausted physically for a good year now just from the lack of sleep, but now that my therapy is really taking off and I'm dealing with a lot of emotional baggage I am also emotionally exhausted at the end of the day. It's a good thing, but I'm going to have to figure out how to get more sleep. Being exhausted physically and emotionally is just too much for my poor body to take. I think I'm going to start heading for bed about 8:30, hopefully to be asleep by around 9 or so. That should help. :crossed:

Rennie I don't wrap the spaghetti squash. I cut it in half and scrape out the seeds. Put it cut side down on a baking sheet and roast it like that. The heat will stay inside and kinda steam it. I hope I wasn't too late with the reply. Sorry. Also, this is how I do it. Maybe others do it differently. :o

Angie - It must be from the drastic change, I'm going at little easier on the veggies today! I have 2 pairs of lululemon pants and 2 pairs of capri's, but one pair got a little small. :( But their sizing is a little off, I can wear one style in a sized 12, and one in a size 14. Since I wear the basically ALL the time for casual clothes, definitely worth it! I am so excited for you to see 199!! :D Congrats on your month!

Rennie - Josh loves the sporty look, and before him I dressed up quite a bit more. I started getting lazy in University and he loved the sporty look, and I was SO comfortable, so it stuck! Look up Haviana's, I absolutely LOVE them! Best flip flops I own! I also have to dress up for work, black dress pants with a black jacket in cosmetics, and dress pants and a blouse for training. GREAT month btw :D

Roxy - I just started planning for my goals like that, so hopefully I can get a little OCD on goal meeting! I'm normally quite terrible at hitting personal goals - other than work ones. Congrats on your month as well!!

Jami - congrats on your month! :D Lululemon's sizing is a little off, I wear a size 12 in a certain style, but the rest of the 12's are a little snug. They are investment pieces! I've had my capri's and pant's for like 3-4 years and they look brand new!

My WI this morning was pretty fabulous, Whooshed down 2.4 pounds to 262.6. So I guess technically I lost .2 in August! ;) I am kind of expecting a little bump up tomorrow since I was likely a little dehydrated this morning. But we'll see! Also - my chili? SO amazing!! only 280 calories per serving, it was great!

Hey all. Had a good day with hubs, we started off with a not so great lunch, in terms of the choices that were made, although I'm within my calorie range for the day. I did decide that I wasn't going to let the rest of the day go to waste though and had a very healthy dinner, as well as some additional water to try and minimize any damage for the beginning of September. I also have my entire lunch/snacks ready for tomorrow! Sweet. I'm off to get some reading in and then off to bed. It'll be another long day, 6:30 am first meeting and last one from 9-10pm. Yikes! See you in September

Hi Coondocks, good to see you. Sounds like things have come together. Way to go :high:

Vixsin good job on the 2.6lbs gone. Glad things are going well, hope you enjoyed your day :)

Wow eclipse congratulations on your new low. Can't wait to hear what you set your next goal at :) I'm a little shorter than you and I thought the low was like 130 something, whew you go Girl! Do all you can do, I applaud you :)

Jami, good job on the 1.1lb down and the -5.9lbs gone that's great. ... yeah that was funny to me also ;). Well, it will be great to wear all of the things that you haven't worn in a while. You'll be pulling the other items to the front before you know it you're doing great. :) on the clam chowder, I have never had a clam before. Hope your workout wasn't too bad today, did you get to go to the jacuzzi afterwards?

Angie I sure hope so. I had a rough day today, too many things going on and too much around that I shouldn't eat so, I'm back to the Attack phase for a couple of days tomorrow if I have a gain. I don't expect not to. I did good until about a hour ago :( How much asparagus do you eat? I think I need it :)

Thanks Ona good job on the .8 down and the 4.6lbs gone for the month, you're doing great :)

Mandy glad you enjoyed your work out, and what a great mind set to have. You are gonna kick any gain to the curb, way to go Lady :) Sorry your workout buddy couldn't come with, but hubby is better huh :)

LGW, I think it's usually the people that get in on the first pages that do from what I've noticed. I just like seeing everything I've don't them I can go back and look at what I ate again if I screw up like today, won't do that again :( Sounds like a great vacation in the making and a wonderful place to walk :)

Hi Dumplin :welcome:

Hi cathi :welcome:

Hi crainjo :welcome:congratulations on the 5K and good job on the elliptical. I think you make your goal and be ready for the race in January :)

:woohoo: Gale, you did it and you didn't think you would. You picked yourself up and turned things around, YOU ROCK  Congratulations of the 9lbs GONE for August. :) Glad you got some much needed rest today  and hoping for many more restful nights for you :)

Diana it turned out fine just need for it to cool a little, I tasted a small piece not bad but I love squash so I'm sure there won't be a problem there :)

Aimee it's good that Josh loves your look and that is what matters that the both of you like it :) I use to have to dress up everyday, worked in accounting for many years so always had to dress the part Monday - Friday and hoped no one would see me when I can into the office on the weekends :) Wow, those look nice, but pricey whew. I'd be upset if my daughter left those at a friends ;) Thanks on the month, I finally did something right, hope I didn't blow all my effort today :( I'm so snacky, ahhh Angie it just may be TOM and I never paid attention.
Aimee great whoosh :high: and September will be better, glad your chili was a hit. I made chili with the TVP that Roxy told me about, oh my goodness. I could have ate 3 cups easily but I only had one. Only 55 calories, I made enough for 4 cups, it was a lot.

Kukkie glad you had a great day, I knew you would :) Whew get plenty of rest for your long day tomorrow and here's to a great start of the month :)

StarGetsFit

kwigg good job on the -5.8lbs gone for the month :) that was my magic number also :)

Rennie -- I'm feeling like I will have a gain. I made good choices at Wendy's but it does have high sodium and then I did get some popcorn at the movies. That's pretty much all I ate today so calories are okay, but not a stellar nutrition day :). I feel puffy and tight already. What did you snack on? Hope it was something healthier than me.

Good Morning, Everyone! Let's make it a great month! :carrot:

Ahh, I feel better this morning. A lot less bloated. I just wish I knew if I had a sodium/MSG issue or if I quit with the allergy meds too early. :dunno:

Calories for yesterday: 1440 + :coffee:

Weigh In: 145.6

Down: 1.6 pounds

Angie If I put the asparagus in an omelet, I cut the spears, cook in a little water, drain, and put in the omelet. If I have them for dinner, I will use a little olive oil and put in the oven or in the grill pan on the stove. We had a coupon, so we went to Ruby Tuesday last night. I took in my paper that I printed from their website about MSG sensitivities. I placed my order and told the waiter that I have food allergies. I also told them to keep things simple and do not add any extra seasoning/msg or anything to my food. Just plain grilled/steamed. Before too long DH won't even go eat with me.

Just a quickie from me this morning, because you guessed it.. I'm running late!

LGW - Yay for vacation!! I quite enjoyed my whoosh yesterday, they are always so rewarding!

Angie - My stomach is feeling MUCH better, thanks :)

Rennie - Josh and I are both pretty casual, so if I started getting dressed up I think he just might be mad because he'd have to dress up some more! I doubt you can blow anything in one day, just get back on plan - it looks like it's really agreeing with you! I am looking forward to being on plan for the month of September! I am nearing the 250's again! I hate hate the 260's! Hopefully the snacky feeling goes away, it's likely TOM.

Diana - I think most of the world has issues with MSG, its pretty nasty stuff! My mom gets headaches like you wouldn't believe, and Josh gets an upset stomach. Love the picky ordering,

My WI post will be much much later since I won't have time to update here, darn me and running late!!

-Aimee

I'm up .8 today which is no surprise, but I am sick enough of this range now. I'm going to need a whoosh now, hopefully tomorrow. I'm going to make a trip to the store for some emergency asparagus.

Aimee - Glad your tummy is better.

Diana -- I love that you brought the paper to the restaurant!

Crainjo -- Good job on your run this morning, what a nice whoosh to go with it!

I'm at 213.0 (up 0.2 from 212.8 yesterday); however, I will take that number considering I had stuffed chicken marsala (w/ brocolli) from O-Garden last night with a caramel/chocolate desert cup! I'm hoping to shed a few pounds in the next 2 weeks and get out of the 212-214 range, so I'm going to be really strict about my plan.

I went the Farmers Market yesterday and brought tons of fruit from which I made a delicious fruit medley (I usually only eat fruit for breakfast). I am also going to try some "bitter squash" - I was told to saute it down with onions and garlic, so we shall see :) I have some beautiful tomatoes for my salad as well!

Vacation cannot come soon enough!! I feel like I am already in vacation mode, which is not good because I am still working! :)

I'm down .2 to 164.8. Ya gotta love new lows :carrot:. I have less than 50 pounds to lose, 49.8 may not be much less than 50, but still. :woohoo:

Rennie - My family has seen me a few times during my weight loss, I go visit twice a year. I can't stay away, lol. With the lemon juice I just buy the bottle lemon and lime juice. A long time back I asked my nutritionist if it would make a difference and she said as long as I was getting the sweetened stuff she didn't see how it would. I get PureLemon and PureLime. One of my favorite things to do with TVP (I learned it from another 3FChick, Kaplods) is to mix it with ground meat. It works especially well if I am just browning the meat in crumbles in a pan. I add dry TVP while the meat is cooking and when it is almost finished I start adding water for the TVP. With the amount I add it turns the meat into about 3 times more food which cuts costs since the TVP costs much less than meat and it also seriously cuts calories and fat. I also add it to meatloaf and burger patties, but for that I soak the TVP first with water or broth and then add it to the raw meat before I make the loaf or patties. I toss it into stir fry, I add some to almost any soup I make, I add it to pasta dishes sometimes, the possibilities are pretty endless.

Coondocks - I'm glad to see you excited and that school is going well. I wish you could share some of your lack of skin melting heat with me.

Vixsin - Darn that TOM.

Eclipse - Congrats on the new low! Since you are already at a "normal" weight, maybe take it 5 pounds at a time now? As is often said here, you will know when you get there.

Jami - Today is my 38th day in the 160s. I feel ya chicky!

Angie - The way I look at it about movie theaters and taking my own popcorn is that the theater should be embarrassed for not serving anything that a sane health conscious person would want to eat.

Mandy - Have you tried the smucker's sugar free jellies. Processed yes, but sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do and I am a total PBJ nut. I am especially in love with the cherry preserves they make and it's all of 10 calories. They are made with splenda.

Gale - I'm sorry you have been so exhausted and that you had a meltdown, but I'm glad you got some extra sleep and are feeling better. I hope your plan for getting to sleep earlier works.

Aimee - Congrats on the whoosh!

Diana - I think it is a good thing that you are becoming a pickier customer at restaurants. I don't go out to eat much, but when I do I am probably the pickiest customer they've ever seen. I figure that since my health is a good reason to be that way any restaurant that actually has a problem with it doesn't deserve my business.

fitkristi - Welcome back and congrats on catching it at 15.

LGW - I am now curious because I have never heard of this bitter squash. I am a big squash person. I shall have to research.

I'm up a pound this morning to 186.4. I'm not stressing. Yesterday's breakfast was great. Lunch was a company lunch and I indulged in a small servings of a few things and had 3 bites of red velvet cake. Dinner could and should have been much better than it was but Maxwell talked me into tunafish and cheese sandwiches with colby cheese-its. So carby, so many total carbs yesterday. I am ready for today. My entire day is planned out and on MFP. I am ready and fighting on!!!

Much work to do and I need to get some work done on my assignment for school. I'll try to check back a bit later. :)

Angie I knew I would have a gain when I woke up this morning. The weird thing is I could post a loss on the Thanksgiving Challenge down .8 from last Thursday, so that looked pretty ;). But on here I am up 2lbs. Wanna know why???? because while I was posting I think I was eating a piece of fried chicken my son made (ended up being 2.5 tenderloins, not a wing fan) Then they all went upstairs except for the two oldest. I decided I would clean up the mess down here before I blew a head gasket didn't want to look at the long faces, not in the mood :). So while I was doing that and before I started I ate 12 ginger snaps, possibly more, the edges off the pound cake (the middle is too soft, I like the darker parts), 4 animal crackers, and I can't remember what else, I also had 40ozs of water and a grapefruit. So there is my confession of mess that I consumed late last evening.

I am two pounds to 173.4. I was probably more but I got up at 10: something. So today and tomorrow I am back on the Attack phase. I may stay on all weekend to be safe.

Kristi -- Welcome back!

Ona

Roxy -- :woohoo: for your new low!! I'm going to a movie tonight with an old friend, I know she won't even blink if I bring my own popcorn; she is so supportive of my weight loss. I did have 2 TF tickers, I just chose the small size to get them next to each other.

Rennie -- Okay, well, we both messed up yesterday and had a gain...it will go. I'm back on track today; how are you doing? I may go to my aunt's place this weekend, but that's okay, I do the cooking when we are there, so I should do fine.

Well I did it again :( deleted everything

Maybe I'm typing something I'm not supposed to type and the computer erases it :dizzy: I obviously haven't learned my lesson yet :(

Kukkie sorry about the gain this morning  Hoping tomorrow is better :) Thanks Kukkie, yes Ma'am I am back on track today

Beck good job on the 10.2lb lost for the month and on the .4 down today :)

Hi susie

Diana good job on the 1.6lbs gone ... bye bye sodium/MSG :)

crainjo good whoosh 3.2lbs gone, good job on the run :)

Aimee I sure hope so, I am up 2lbs from yesterday, so I took lot of sodium in (and I could taste it but kept on going), but today is a new day to make a difference and make myself happy in the a.m. :) My hubby dresses up everyday, I love the look so handsome, makes me wanna keep him in the house ;) I think TOM is early this month also, and it had the nerve to bring baggage :( (thanking Angie that I am noticing  )

Angie I am with you on these same numbers, but I know why I haven't gotten rid of them, gotta blame my eyes and hands for acting like children, wanting everything they see and actually getting it (shaking my head). I sure hope that September is a more OP month than last month. I would love to lose 1.4lbs a week, now that is something to look forward to. :) Oh and I had an entire bag of microwave popcorn with my junk eating :) Now I think I know what got me started. I went food shopping and there is nothing that I could grab to eat light right now, I had ham and turkey at home so I didn't want to buy more. The kids got a dozen doughnuts and I was standing in the checkout line and picked up a 3 Musketeers. I haven't had one of those in forever. That chocolate taste stayed with me forever it seemed. Then I made my chili, and taco meat ... ate that and I was fine, but the snack monster slapped me a 10pm and it was all down hill. Confession over : .... Onto today I am okay food wise so far. I have my food all planned out on MFP. I ate my yogurt, my oat bran and 2 cups of skim milk. Lunch is 2 eggs, ham or turkey and salmon or tuna, Dinner is London broil and chicken breast, today would be a typical PP day but when on Attack it's alwasy PP. I need to be more disciplined for PV days I think.

Vladadog good to see you :)

KRISTI hiiiiiiiiii, good to see you back. I did the same thing and gained about 15lbs and I'm trying to get back to my low from last year. We can do it

Matilda, well said .... I WANT TO LOSE NOT GAIN .... I CAN'T LET ALL OF MY HARD WORK GO TO WASTE .... I need to speak this daily. We can do it

LGW .2 isn't bad at all with such a delicious meal and dessert. A relaxed mind is better than a chaotic mind, so keep that vacation feeling of pleasantries :)

Ona you go girl, that is what I should have done also then I wouldn't feel so bad today. I feel bad that I can never start a month off with at least a .2 down from the previous day (shaking my head).

Hi Precious, I like YOUR goal :) :welcome: :)

Roxy take it Lady it is yours :high: Ona uses the squeeze kind also. I love the pulp that you get with the real lemons and I have never bought real limes. I thought you were a vegetarian also :?: I'll have to look up the other things I can do with it. I like that it is versatile, thanks for the tips. It worked wonders on the chili for me and no gas is a definite blessing  Roxy try almost a year of the 170's oh my goodness enough already. ;)

Vixsin sounds like how my day turned out yesterday. My day is also planned out on MFP and I plan to eat that tomorrow also. Here's to good eating :)

:welcome: Miranda I am quite annoyed also, but we can't allow the scale to control our mood. Vent on here and let's move on

I'm down 0.5 to 253.3 this morning. I completed week 3 of the BFC and am feeling good about everything going on there. I am definitely toning and can feel myself getting stronger. LOVE IT! I haven't technically "lost" any weight based on the weekly WIs at the gym but I'm finally recovering from my crazy "Let's just stay in the 250's" phase AND those gym WIs are at 6pm so who the **** knows. All I know is that I'm working my *** off...and hopefully that will become a literal description sooner rather than later. ;)

Tomorrow's my official WI and I am so relieved that I will FINALLY get to move my ticker down though still not completely back to my all time low from earlier this month. I'm close though and I can taste victory! :D

On a side note, I am SO exhausted this morning! I had the worst headache when I got home from the gym last night. And because of that, I COULD NOT get comfortable enough to fall asleep. Then, once I FINALLY dozed off, my little guy woke up yelling that he had to go potty and I was so slow to wake up out of my fog, that we didn't make it. And THEN to top it all off, I got upset and hollered at him. I feel like such a jerk...actually makes me teary remembering his sad little face. He was already so upset at himself and then I make it worse 'cause I'm tired and grouchy. I REALLY can't wait to get home to hug/squeeze him and tell him I'm sorry...again even though I KNOW he will already have moved on and forgot all about it. Anyway, after that episode, I couldn't fall back to sleep for another few hours...so we're talking somewhere after midnight or so. Sheesh! I'm SO glad I'm taking tomorrow off! :dizzy:

Ona -- Thanks so much! I always appreciate your sincere cheerleading! :cheer:

Aimee -- Wow! A size 12 huh? What size do you where in regular clothes. I'm definitely ok with investment clothing...especially if it lasts as well as you described. I'm not sure what size it'll be when I'm ready, but I definitely want to get a more comfortable and cool workout wardrobe. Congrats on your whoosh!! And YAY on the chili! That calorie count is great and there's NOTHING better than homemade chili!

Kukkie -- I'm so happy to hear that you enjoyed a fun and healthy day with your DH. And WOW, you're day today sounds CRAZY. :dizzy: Take care of yourself!

Kwigg -- Me and you girl! WE ARE SO HITTING THE 240'S THIS MONTH! Let's do it, okay? I am so FREAKING tired of these darn 250's! Funny...we lost almost the same weight in August too. ;)

LGW -- You certainly are due and VERY deserving of a vacation! All those crazy hours you have to work. I like your idea of having an activity goal list for the time off. I'm due for a trip to our farmer's market as well. All your talk of fresh fruit and veggies has me drooling!

Rennie -- Workout was worse than ever...but in a good way, ya know? And yes, I definitely hit that jacuzzi afterwards. It's a must! Sorry to hear you had a tough time of it last night. Question for you...if you slip up on Dukan, so you start the phase all over or just continue on where you were?

Matilda -- You CAN do this. Just keep at it!

Roxy -- ;) I'm glad I'm not the only one DYING to get to the next decade. I've seen ENOUGH of these! And yay having LESS than 50lbs to lose!!! Woo hoo! LOL about your ticker factory question. But...yours do show up next to each other when I see them. One is a little taller than the other but they are next to each other. Maybe I'm not understanding though?

Vixsin -- Mmmm...everything sounds so good and it doesn't sound like you did too bad. Good luck getting that assignment knocked out.

Miranda -- Sorry you're annoyed and having a not good day. It'll be over soon though hon and then you can start fresh! :D (And ditto what Rennie said. Vent away all you need here!)

Welcome back FitKristi and Vladadog! Welcome Precious!

August 31: 242.8
Sept. 1: 245.0

 Who the heck knows what this morning's WI was all about?? My calories were a tad low yesterday (1358), my sodium was at 1750mg, I worked out for 40 minutes on the elliptical. I did weigh in about 3 hours earlier than usual, so that might be it. I weighed in again after breakfast, coffee, shower, Bible study, etc. and was at the same number. So, if I'd weighed in at my normal time I probably would have gotten a lower number. :dunno: It is what it is.

No time for personals, I have an appointment in a few minutes. I hope you're all having a great day!

Angie - I hope you are able to bring yourself to take your own popcorn (and stick to eating it instead of the theater stuff) :crossed: I tried making the tickers small, but that didn't work.

Rennie - I kinda did, I hit the 170s for the first time in September last year and got stuck then barely made it into the 160s before life sent me off plan and I slowly went back to the 190s and now I just got out of the 170s again in July. I vow to never see the 170s again! I'm really glad that your chili went well. Nope, I've never even considered going vegetarian. I have no issue with people who do, it's just very definitely not for me.

Jami - I am sure it will become very literal very soon. I am sorry about your night last night. The only reason my tickers are currently side by side is that one is a 3FC ticker. I wanted to change it to ticker factory to get decimals, but they won't go side by side when I try that.

Gale - It is almost certainly because you weighed in so early. It'll be better tomorrow.

I have just discovered while updating the 2011 challenge thread that I am down 30 pounds even for the year so far. :woohoo:

Jami good job on the .5 down this morning :) Glad you are getting toned and gaining strength. Your on your way to that body you are talking about :) You know now that you mentioned ticker. I lowed my ticker yesterday and guess what I have a gain today, that always happens also, I might just delete those all together, that's a thought. Aw Jami I have done that exact same thing for the exact same reason, and yes he has forgotten and moved on but you know what they remember that big squeeze we give them longer I believe. :) Makes both our hearts smile :) On Dukan you go back to the Attack phase when you have a gain that was caused by a slip. Clean out all the crappy carbs you took in with Pure Protein.

Gale you would have definitely got a lower number you go girl, subtract that 2.5-3lbs and jump for joy or just think tomorrow you'll be smiling like a Cheshire Cat :D

puneri 3 months and 16lbs is great :) ... not to step in for Diana but here are my stats for when I first started, and it was all counting calories and walking, faithfully ... and I mean faithfully, not like my knuckle head is doing now :)

June 2010: Beginning weight: 195.4; Ending weight: 183.2, Total loss for JUNE: -12.2lbs
July 2010: Beginning weight: 183.0, Ending weight 178.0, Total loss for JULY -5lbs
August 2010: Beginning weight 178.4 Ending weight 171.6, Total loss for AUGUST -6.8lbs

Roxy your tickers are fine the ladder is just wider that the rope :) I see someone loves pink :) I hope to get out of the 170's by mid September. I actually feel better now that I have put some descent food in my body, I don't feel lighter just a bit better :) Hope tomorrow is better for me :crossed: :woohoo: on the 30lbs down, YOU GO GIRL :high:

You know I was thinking about doing a few smoothy days = protein powder (gotta check the carbs out though), Greek yogurt, crystal light, ice and maybe a little skim, what do you all think? Can I do that for two meals and then maybe one meal of actual proteins. Does it not sound healthy? I know slim fast has that motto 2 shakes and a sensible dinner but I have heard people say that it's not healthy and though I have done slim fast, I have never been able to only drink to and eat one meal, my body would go berserk,

ok gotta run BBL

Gale -- Sorry about the crazy WI today. I've been living that reality for quite a while. A reality where my scale is bound and determined to drive me insane. It'll pass...I KNOW IT! :D

Roxy -- Oh ok. So for the tickers, I started by picking two that were roughly the same height. And then, in my signature, the url's are back to back with no space in between.

Rennie -- Thanks for the reminder about the lil' ones. I know he's over it but man my heart is hurting. Just need to get that squeeze in and relieve my conscience. :)

Jami- you totally keep me in check. I know I don't comment much but I always look at your journal from myfitnesspal and sometimes I think "but I don't want those ladies to see that I ate that much of that" and then put down the crap. I like seeing other people being successful because it makes it seem more like a reality for me than just a dream.

Puneri Hi  Thank you. You are correct, I didn't have any plateaus. The only thing that caused me a problem was my food allergy. The food allergy started last Summer. I would have an allergic reaction, go up a couple pounds and then it would come right back off. It would take a week to get though that. But no plateaus. In my opinion it is because I was very consistent and on plan 99.9% of the time. I rarely took any time off from working out. I still don't. The only time that I was off plan on my foods was Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, etc. While I was in weight loss mode, I think I even stayed in my calorie range for my Birthday. There was only a few days that I took off during the year and that was it. I was very consistent with everything I did, that had to do with my weight loss, the entire time.

I agree with Rennie 16 pounds is awesome! Keep up the great work! You don't have that much to lose. Sometimes it's more difficult when you weigh less.

Jami been there also as a matter of fact a couple of hours ago. I was talking about someone that I knew from some where but couldn't remember where and my daughter pointed and said who him Mommy (arm sticking straight out like an arrow) without thinking I smacked her arm down and her face went sour. It didn't hurt but she was upset because I pushed her arm down, she said she was just asking me if that was the guy, but I explained to her for the 1000th time, we don't point, it's rude. After quite a few hugs and a kisses she was all better. But she was upset.

kwigg good job on the .6 down :)

Rennie - sorry to hear about your gain :( But you'll make those pounds go away, back on plan and lots of water! Josh always gets super dressed up for conferences, but I'm never there to see it... :( I just told Josh this, and he promised me to take me out all dressed up :D I am up today too, but I slept terribly last night, so time to get a good sleep and I'll be skinny tomorrow ;)

Jami - I wear a size 16 to a size 18, depends on the fit. I am not, NOT a 12, But it was fun when I first bought them! I am having the chili for lunch tomorrow, with a low calorie roll! Yummy! Sorry to hear about your night, having to function like a normal human with a headache is tough, never mind that wake up. Hopefully the hug helps :) I have pretty huge issues with the 250's, so I'll be SO relieved to get into them, and into the 240's ASAP! I get to like 253-254 and then panic and gain 10 pounds, I've been doing this for far too long :( Darn patterns!

Roxy - Congrats on the new low :)

I got my little bump up this morning, up .7. I also didn't sleep very great, tomorrow should be good I'm hoping! I was very good today! :D Alright, I need to go lay down, I'm completely exhausted!

Roxy -- I did BMOP (bring my own popcorn) :) It was great! Hey, fabulous job on losing 30lbs this year!!

Rennie -- I think the smoothie sounds okay if you think it will satisfy you. How did eating go for you today? Did you manage to stick to your plan? I'm pretty pleased with myself...I ate on plan and I brought popcorn to the movies. My only downfall thsi week was the chips Monday night, and the actual movie popcorn yesterday but even at that I was only over my calories on Monday and that only by about 600. You too, except for yesterday you've been doing awesome. Let's not throw away our hard work. We have another weekend to get through on plan -- and it's a long weekend here.

Jami -- Congratulations on your .5 today, how are things going for you on the diet side of things? I remember you were trying to find a way to get more protein before. Oh I feel for you on the grouchiness last night. Those things sting in hindsight. It happens, you're human, and you apologized, I've been a bit of a grouch this week too...PMS + insomnia thing going on, bad week to be at home with a bored kid with a broken leg...lol. I've got to be extra sweet to him this weekend now that I'm feeling more like myself again.

Good Morning! TGIF! :yay: Happy Labor Day weekend! :woohoo:

I'm sorry that I didn't have time to come back for personals, yesterday. It's the end/beginning of the month and is busy for me at work. I am up early this morning. I've got some extra stuff to do before I can start the weekend! :woohoo:

Does anyone have plans for the weekend?

DH and I are having something similar to a staycation. We will be going to some restaurants that we haven't been to in a while. I was hoping my weight would be lower by now, but thanks to the reaction last week, it is not. I will just do the best that I can. Tonight is Mexican food, tomorrow is Italian, Sunday is Japanese (we are going to the restaurant where we went to on our first date.), Monday might be steak.

My friend asked me to go to the movies with her. Our DH's are hunting buddies and they will be bird hunting this weekend. I think it will be a fun weekend.

Down 1.4. Was good for most of the day - then nighttime snacking crept in again. I had gotten so far away from it, and then my husband was working really late hours (at home) and I would sit up with him watching TV and we would both snack. Baaaaaaaaaad habit. So now I'm trying to get away from that. I'm not drinking enough water either.

I had what for me counts as a whoosh these days since I lose so little at a time most days. I am down .6 to 164.2.

Rennie - I don't think it would be unhealthy if you were only doing it for a few days, but be careful. You don't want to make yourself too hungry because that's when we are most likely to go off plan.

Angie - Congrats on the BYOP! :carrot:

Diana - That is sweet that you are going to your first date place. I'm jealous. It would be extremely expensive for DH and I to do that since our first date was on the other side of the world in England, lol

fitkristi - It's ok to take small steps to get back to plan. Just make sure that each day is better than the one before it and you'll be there in no time. Congrats on the 1.4.

Rennie Thank you. What I found so difficult and frustrating with my journey is that it took so long, even though I stuck to my plan like glue. There were people on here that lost a significant amount of weight in 1 - 1 1/2 years. It took me, from the time I started to the time I reached goal, 3 years and 4 months. I was also working on getting my thyroid meds regulated in the beginning. Some stats say that it's best to take it slow. Most recent stats show that it's best to hit it hard and get it over with quickly. Of course, either way you do it, you still have to know how to maintain after it's all over with. None of it is easy.

Wow, read my mind much??
I think the 160's subconsciously scared me, seriously.

And with the end of my crap month, I began yesterday at 179.6. Not the 180's I thought, still not something I'm happy with but am more than willing to get rid of :)
I also started september with a killer migraine that ended up leaving me in bed till mid afternoon, my mom had to take Jack to daycare for me, I hate those wasted days. I could read my text books by the afternoon, but the moment I tried to do any kind of exercise my head felt like it was going to explode, sucks to that.
I didn't eat well at all, soup and a salad, that was all I could stomach and it was salty soup at that. Not enough water of course . . . . has left me at 179.6 again this morning.
How can I complain about that??

Ok . . . . time for some massive reading here!! I've missed you guy so much, I was thinking about what I was going to post on my walk to daycare this morning, such a crisp cool day, i love days like this.

:dunno: I expected a bit of a whoosh today, but no dice. I was OP yesterday and my sodium wasn't ridiculous but I can't get my rings off this morning. Who knows? I'm just gonna keep on keepin' on, it'll show eventually!

ETA: I just realized that I'm most likely ovulating - that always leads to some weirdness on the scale (I'm one of the lucky ones that gets scale bumps with TOM and ovulation. :dizzy:) Hopefully that's what it is and it'll come back off in the next couple of days!

Dear scale and brain: I am not in maintenance phase right now. No -- really -- I'm not, but you apparently believe that I am as I've noticed from 8/18 I've been approximately the same weight. Brain, let's work together on will power and continuing a healthy eating plan that's on-plan -- just for today! Scale, I encourage you to follow our lead. It's not negotiable. We cannot agree to disagree in this matter. Thank you in advance, LGW :)

OK, so apparently I am up 0.4. I am 213.4 today, up from 213.0. Minor fluctuation; however, as noted above I've been in the 212-214 range for about 2 weeks -- TOM included. So I'm going to stick to my plan and hope for a whoosh really soon. I would like to get out of this range prior to my vacation the end of next week. I'm going to go walking this weekend as well.
I will patiently wait for this scale to comply with my demands! :)

Rennie - we've got to get past this little thing we are stuck in! It's time to get on with things and we can't let a silly number keep us from achieving our goals! I am hoping a full nights sleep will help on my scale this morning! Enjoy the hair cut :)

Angie  to you too :)

Diana - sounds like a great weekend!! Enjoy it for me! I am working most of the weekend, and then unfortunately one of my cousin's was killed so we have to go to her funeral on Monday. I am totally jealous of all the eating out, I really just need someone to do my full time cooking ;)

Kukkie - hopefully you get some shorter days this weekend! :)

Roxy - congrats on your "whoosh"! ;)

Coondocks - I'm not sure how to get past such a silly number, but I'm SO tired of getting stuck in the 250's and bouncing to the 260's, ugh. Frustrating :) But I can only try! Sorry to hear about your migraine :( Hopefully you are 100% today!

Ona

Gale - darn TOM eh? Makes me wonder how we can even lose weight WITH it! My old doctor had me take the pill back to back so I only had TOM 4 times a year (seasonally), my new doctor thinks I should just take more pain killers! (I get killer, killer cramps!)

Star - great loss so far this month!

Aimee - nice drop this morning! Pre packing meals is a great idea, i'm supposed to be taking Jack out to my Dad's boat for the day on sunday, which in itself is nice . . but stopping in Gimli for hotdogs and fries for lunch, maybe not the best option. Still toying with the idea of 'playing with fire' i'll have to fill you in on that later on . . . .

LGW - TOM is a bugger and a half, but staying in a 2 lb range with TOM around, unbelievably awesome, be proud of that!!

Ona - don't you love that feeling the first time a new smaller size just fits wonderfully :) :) Congrats to you ont aht!!

Diana - I can see how the time frame would be so frustrating, but I have to look at it this way . . . . you took you're time getting to goal and you are now a maintaining super star, you know what you're doing and are awesome at it :D

Im missing so many people . . . . I'll be back once again LOL

kristi - i feel your pain. i pretty much took the month of august off, started august at 252, and according to my scale today i'm back up to around 255 (after water, exercise, and food so it's probably off a bit), after getting down to 248, not 15 pounds, but not a loss either. and you're not starting over, starting over would be if you gained 115 instead of 15. you can still claim a loss of 100lbs, and that's awesome. that's how i'm keeping myself going. "okay, so i gained 7 pounds, but that still has me at a net of over 40lbs lost... not starting over, just took a detour for a bit"... you'll get back to the right mindset. i'm right there with you.

roxy - i've tried the sugar free jellies, and they kind of have a weird after taste to me, and i didn't like them much. i use the reduced sugar smuckers 'squeeze' strawberry sometimes, but i love apple butter and if you only use a teaspoon, it's 10 calories :) (1tbsp = 3tsp right?)

okay, so today was supposed to be day number 3 at the gym. it was actually day number 2 since my buddy bailed yesterday too ('i forgot about my doctor's appointment') and my hubby had homework he needed to get done, and my stomach was bothering me enough to say "nobody wants to go with me? fine i'll just go to bed"... today i got up, got ready, went to the gym... and my buddy? not there yet. i texted her and she said "i forgot! i'm on my way to the book store"... i get the feeling i'm gonna be working out alone monday and friday, and with the hubby tuesday thru thursday. FINE BY ME. i just turn on my music and zone out. upped the time and difficulty on the bike today, to 35 minutes, at level 5 (vs 30 mins at level 4) and kept my speed around level 12.... i don't know how this bike works, but yeah, it was a little harder than yesterday and a little longer. plus a 5 minute warm up on the elliptical (i'm testing my ankle's ability to handle the elliptical) in which i did 3 mins 'forward' and 2 minutes 'backward'... and the front of my thighs let me know it too. and i loved it. :)

i don't know why i wake up and go "i don't wanna gooooo..." then i get there, and it feels great. and i feel amazing afterwards. i know i'm gonna feel great afterwards, but i still dread going until i'm there. wtf is that?!

have a great day ladies, 3 more days of cleanse and then i'll do my weigh in on the wii fit! :)

Ona Congrats on your W/I and the size 12 jeans!

Gale Congrats on the .8!

LGW Hi  Hang in there!

Aimee I'm sorry about your cousin. Take care of yourself. Great job on the 1.5 pounds.

I'm not sure about my weigh in this morning, as I weighed in before i peed and then forgot to weigh in after, and my official is always the after, but I'm going to estimate I only lost 3-4 oz and call it a .4 gain to bring me to 202.8. We went to an amusement park today and I had lunch there. On plan breakfast, then burger/fries lunch with a ice-creamy drink in the afternoon. I'm going to call it about 2000 calories for the day, but I"m hoping all the walking will have seen me through so I'll only have a bit of a sodium gain. I"m hoping for not more than a pound, but I guess we'll see in the morning.

Diana -- Sounds like a fun weekend. I think you should get a part time job as a restaurant critic, and your angle can be from a weightloss perspective. :) What movie are you planning to see?

SusieMartin -- Good job holding steady!

Kukkie -- Congrats on your loss :)

Crainjo -- Congrats on your 1.2 today!

Kristi -- Congrats on your 1.4 today...dammit, I'm snacking right now...must put the nuts away!

Roxy -- Good job on your whoosh!

Coondocks -- Sorry about the migraine. Hope your reading went well!

Ona -- Amazing about your size 12 jeans! Good for you for taking a bit of a break, sounds like your body is responding well :carrot:

LGW -- I need you to have a little talk with my brain too and explain that an off plan day is not suddenly going to help me move closer to my goals. I hope your walking this weekend will help move you closer to yours.

Aimee -- Congratulations on your 1.5 today!

Mandy -- I feel that way about most exercise...I really don't feel like getting up and doing it, but I know I will feel great when I do. We just have to make ourselves do it -- sounds like you are doing great. Sorry about your gym buddy bailing on you!

Agnie I think my friend wanted to see The Help. Have you seen it, yet? Didn't someone in the check in see it? Was it good? :?: I'm looking at this weekend like a vacation. Here's the problem, when we go away, I don't weigh daily, so I don't get that daily frustration. I know I will have a gain, but should I weigh daily? I guess I will. :dunno: I ate over my normal calorie range tonight, but I didn't get crazy full like I have before. I am going to try to do things in moderation, though. The whole sodium thing is so frustrating. You and I know about that. You could eat in your calorie range, but have a couple pound gain from water weight alone.

I had a fabulously OP day and found a 12 week fat loss workout schedule that my girlfriend and I are doing together. She just recently got engaged, and I think she's in good shape, but I can understand her desire to spend the next few months making sure she's toned. We're doing it together, but separately, just following the schedule together and keeping each other on point. Today was day 1, and though I felt like lazy bum, I got up and did the entire thing and felt amazing afterwards! Yay! I supremely hope the scale is on my side tomorrow.

Kukkie - I'd also like to hear about this 12 week plan! I am going away to California in 9 weeks, but would love to lose some inches before now!

Diana - thanks, it was a cousin that I was estranged from.. but it's really important to my grandma that I go to the funeral. So off I go!

Coondocks - I definitely want to get to exercising now that it's getting cooler!

Alright, I'm falling asleep.. time for bed.. I am not doing nearly enough personals, but I did read everything!

Thanks Angie I did pretty much stick to plan yesterday, my calories were low and that included the toppings off of two slices of pizza, which wasn't much, it's a shame how they barely put anything on take out pizza but I guess it was fine for me. I was down a pound this morning and I weighed in after 6.5 hours of sleep :) I'm hanging out with family this weekend so I am hoping to stay as close to OP as possible. Send some goof vibes my way. I went to Applebee's for dinner this evening had the shrimp and sirloin meal. told them hold the sauce. I ate the 4 little pieces of squash and 3 baby carrots. My son ordered bourbon chicken and shrimp. I ate some of his chicken to keep it from being wasted, and two spoons of spinach artichoke dip with some tomatoes that were on my plate. I drank 2 glasses of water while there and two 20oz bottles when I got back. I'm sure my sodium is high but I haven't a clue as to how to enter the added items correctly. I did 60 minutes on the treadmill 469 calories. So I feel pretty good about today.

StarGetsFit good job on the 1.8lbs down :)

Diana good job on the 1.4lbs down :) How romantic to go where you had your first date that's just wonderful :). Sounds like you have a great fun filled weekend planned, enjoy yourself :)

Hi susie

Kukkie good job on the .4 down, hope you managed to stay awake today, sorry about the long days

slimby :welcome: good job on the 1.1lbs down since 8/31 :)

crainjo good job on the 1.2lbs down :)

kristi you still managed 1.4lbs down with the snacking, good job :)

Thanks Roxy good job on the .6 down :)

Diana I can't comment on the maintaining part, I am definitely learning from you early on and I like that  I think slow wins also, when we lose to quickly (in my case) I got a big head too fast after that 30lbs lost you would have thought I was at goal, and I still haven't learned. ;) So eventhough it took longer than you wanted, look at you now and that is what matters

Coondocks maybe that's it. I am scared of it also. Do you recall me saying last year the only way to get to goal for me is to wire my mouth shut? I honestly believe I need a liquid diet (no lumps or clumps) texture, yuk ;) so I know I'd be smaller, but not to goal because that wouldn't last long either  Sorry about the migraine  hope you're feeling better  Glad you're back my friend :)

Ona, I'm glad you're taking a mini break, you're allowed and it is well deserved  .... :woohoo: on your weigh in and what a great NSV, in your 12 jeans :)

Gale good job on the .8 down :)

LGW I like your talk with the scale and your brain :) You've got the right mindset and you are doing all the right things so that makes for great changes to come :)

Aimee you know I got there this morning and no Tabatha, I'm like what???? So Barbie cut my hair. She also informed that it is time to start layering as the back is getting longer than the sides. So in two weeks hopefully she'll be there and we can get it done. Didn't get my sleep in last night and obviously won't tonight either since it's 12:40am and I am on 3FC :D I am really hoping to get pass this mess I've got myself in soon. Aimee I am sorry to hear about your cousin, my sincere condolences to you and your family  Aimee good job on the 1.5lbs down, LOL you gotta pee, you are crazy,

Mandy sorry about your workout buddy. I don't know why people tell you they want to be your partner if they don't just say NO, we're all grown. I hate of I forgot, no you didn't. But whatever, glad you have your hubby to workout with you 3 days of the week. I hate working out also but once I start I feel great also, I just need something to take my mind off what I'm doing and I hate to watch the time that seems like it just doesn't move :)

Diana I have heard several people say The Help is good, can't wait till it hits DVD. I don't do movie theaters, too much money and I get up too much :) The antsy kid in me that can't keep still drives my daughter crazy :)

Kukkie hoping for a great weigh in for you tomorrow/today :D

Hey
Been a busy week and no real time to check in. Seem to be holding steady now at 151 lbs. I'm keeping my goal at 145 but doubt I'll get there before the end of the year
DD is back from Rome- she had a ball ! I missed her terribly, but am so happy she had a good time.
Had a real heart to heart with DH the other day, because I have been concerned that he didn't find me as a attractive as he used to when I was bigger. He smiled a lot and told me he "fancies the pants off me !" (Good old English phraseology there :) ) He also told me he doesn't think I need to lose more weight. Not sure what to do with this one, but will think about it whilst trying to maintain my current weight. This is a hard stage I think - when you have set a goal like I did at 298lbs, it was always so far away and something that I might achieve. Now I'm past it and re-evaluating it seems hard to know whether it is realistic or not. This process always seems to have me learning more and more :dizzy:

Good Morning, Everyone! I hope you have a fantastic weekend!

I am up too early this morning. :dunno: I think my problem on the weekend, is that I am used to getting up at a certain time during the week. That internal clock thing. I think the best thing is for me to go to bed early on the weekend too. That way I can still get my 7-8 hours sleep. I don't always want to do that, though. ;)

Calories for yesterday: Unknown, planned higher calorie day

Weigh In: 144.4

Up: .2 I will take it, thank you very much! I'm sure I will be crying the blues the rest of the weekend and through next week!

Aimee Try to enjoy your weekend, even though you have to work.

Rennie Congrats on getting an hour in on the treadmill! :bravo:

Starbrite I would keep doing what you are doing and see where your weight settles. That will give people time to adjust to your new look. Everyone is used to seeing you a certain way. It just takes time.

I cannot tell you how much coming back here has changed my mentality and my perception of myself. I think I was just in denial - I really know now how much weighing daily is necessary in my life. Not because of obsession, but because of reality - I need that in my life, to know I have to be held accountable for the scale in the morning. I have to go get ready for my hip hop class and maybe I'll stay for Turbokick. I'll be back for personals later - there are so many people I don't know!

Morning! I'm up 1.2 today to 204 and that's not too bad for the sodium of yesterday + TOM so I'm moving on from here and hoping for a post TOM whoosh in the next few days. I'm so swollen in my hands that my knuckles have been aching for the last 24 hours, so it started even before we went to the amusement park.

Today is supposed to feel like 40 degrees (celcius) here today, which converts to 'stinking hot & humid' in farenheit. Since we blew the budget at the park yesterday, can't swim or run through sprinklers, have seen every movie out there, and spent the last 5 days with Cam's best friend, we will be having a quiet day holed up in the house. That means cooking (yay!) and cleaning (boo!) for me. I'm going to try a new recipe for slow cooked swiss steak tonight :)

Diana -- I just saw The Help on Thursday night with my friend -- I really enjoyed it. I read the book earlier this year and loved that too. I hope you get to see that one. I think you can go either way with your weigh in, take the break from the scale if you feel like it. Yes, I have a gain from yesterday...I was only 600 calories above my plan because I ate a small breakfast and dinner and then had the park-food at lunch, but I'm up 1.2 today. Oh well. I was thinking about your lonnngggg journey, and I think I'm more on that type myself. I feel great about how far I've come, but when I think how long it's taken me, it's a little frustrating. Most of the frustration comes from comparing myself to other (faster) losers, which I know we shouldn't do, but it's hard not to sometimes.

Kukkie -- morning!

Rennie -- There you are! I was wondering where you were yesterday. :) You did great yesterday, good for you! I'm sending you lots of good vibes...you are going to cross that line this weekend, I can feel it! I'm going to do my best to shed this water weight in the next day or two and then work my way down to the magical 199 :D Think I'm going to have to dust off the treadmill today.

Starbrite -- I'm happy for you that DD is home and that you got to have that great open talk with DH. :) Good luck in finding the right maintenance weight for yourself.

Kristi -- It's true for me too that if I stop weighing I start gaining... I think you are exactly right, it's about a reality check. Congratulations on your .3 today!

Angie Good Morning! I weighed this morning and I was up .2, so that's not so bad. I think I will weigh myself, just to see how it goes. (aka torturing myself ) My body seems to hate sugar/carbs. If I am going to have a higher calorie day, I always go for the sugar/carbs. I can eat extra protein any time, why would I want that if I am having a little splurge? I am adding asparagus to my morning omelet for the next few days. I don't know if it will make a difference. It can't make it worse. ;) Enjoy your day.

And I'm down 1.1 to to 202.4 :cheer: I don't know if it was the OP day, the new workout or the sleep, probably a combination of all three, but I don't care. I'm sticking to it!!! Hmm...I think I've been bamboozled (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/bamboozle). Neighbour dropped by this morning with her 4 yr old grandson & 1.5 yr old granddaughter, to find Cam and I in our pyjamas at 9:30. I dressed him and sent him over to play in her backyard for a bit as they had asked, and on their way out she (the Grandma) asked me if I was going out at all today, and I said, no we didn't really have any plans. Well, 10 minutes later the boys are back at my place and have been here since. (No sign of Grandma...lol) I think she must have needed a break but didn't know how to ask. At least she didn't leave me the 1.5 yr old too! It's okay though, he is company for Cameron and a great little boy. :)

I am down .2 to 164 even.

Ona - Yay size 12 jeans!

Gale - Have you tried using lemon or lemon water to combat the water weight? I get scale bumps and cramps with both ovulation and TOM so I feel your pain.

LGW - Way to tell em! Congrats on your .8

Aimee - Congrats on your 1.5. I always pack a cooler when we drive to my dad's, it's 11 hours.

Mandy - I'm sorry the sugar free jelly doesn't work for you, but it's great that you like the apple butter so you have something that will work. I'm glad you are able to workout again too. I'm sorry that your would be gym buddy seems to not be so dedicated.

Diana - I have the same internal clock issue. I wake up around 6:20 even if I go to bed late (unless I am ill). I try to go to bed early, but DH does not have this internal clock problem and that makes it hard.

Kristi - I'm glad that coming back is helpful for you and we are glad to have you. I know this thread definitely helps keep me motivated and on plan. I was considering a totally off plan restaurant trip the other day, but it was almost the end of the month and I did not want to have to report a monthly gain to my threadmates (even if most of it would have been sodium), so I put it off and then by the time it had gotten into September I was over the craving.

Angie - If this swiss steak comes out well then you will have to share the recipe, that sounds like total yum! I am sorry about today's gain, but at least you know the reasons for it. I really hate the random ones. Good luck with your random extra little guy!

Coondocks - I'm sorry about your annoying scale.

Today is my little Eli's 1st birthday. I can't believe how fast it's gone by. :dizzy: We aren't celebrating until next weekend, but will probably let him open his present today. :)

Roxy - I had some lemon/lime water yesterday, I think that helped. WTG on 164! It's time to change your ticker!

Coondocks - Keep on keepin' on! The scale will cooperate eventually.

Angie - You're so nice. I think I would be pretty irritated if someone dropped their kids off without asking. :) I'm glad Cameron has fun playing with him though, that probably makes it easier.

Ona - WTG on the .4!

LGW - Great job on the .8! I know what you mean about mindset changes. For me, getting past 242 (my nemesis number) will mean a lot.

Kukkie - Great WI! Please do post a link to the 12 week fat burn, it sounds intriguing!

Diana - I hope you enjoy your staycation! Good WI today! I always jump up 2-3 lbs when I eat out.

Kristi - So glad to see you!! Great job getting back to what works, that's often the hardest part.

Sam - I'm glad you had a good talk with DH. Sometimes we, as women, just need to hear it. :) I wish you luck figuring out your maintenance weight, it seems like that'd be a tough place to come to. Maybe you could maintain where you are for a little while and then in 6 months (or whatever) decide if you'd like to lose a few more. Ncuceo (sp?) has a thread going on that very topic in the maintainer's forum, it's a good discussion.

 to anyone I missed! I hope you all have a marvelous Saturday!

Hey all, here is the plan for the 12 week fat burn (http://www.bodybuilding.com/guides/female-20to39-fat-loss/intro)! It's got some interesting intro videos, a day-by-day exercise plan, nutrition ideas, etc. If you want to skip the video and see what the plan is all about, scroll down. I'm the type of person that needs to have a plan when I'm working out, can't just go and do anything, it drives me bonkers. So while I was putting together my own plan, I came across this and thought I'd give it a shot :) There are actually a ton of plans on this site, which I've been trolling for years, but this is the first time I'm actually following one of the plans. If any of you decide to join, I'd love to hear about it.

Roxy -- I'll let you know how it goes, it smells great. I'm doing the slow cooker method, so it's all in the pot now simmering away for the next 4 hours. My step-mom has been telling me about this dish for years, her first husband loved it over mashed potatoes (that wont be happening here..lol), but I've never made it or tried it before. This week my mom brought home some round steak and I didn't know what to do with is, so this is how I'm using it up. I'm following this recipe (http://allrecipes.com/recipe/slow-cooker-swiss-steak/detail.aspx).

Gale -- I was a bit peeved at first to tell you the truth, but more at the nerve of her rather than at actually having him over. It took me a minute to get over that and once I did it was actually better for me too. Of course once he started demanding some lunch I took him home...lol. Even that was cute, I said "I'll take you home to your Nana and she will make you some lunch." and he said (in a really cute sweet little high pitched voice) "No! I actually would like you to make it, and I'd like some more of those mini cookies please." (I still took him home ;))

Kukkie -- Do you go to a gym or do you do those workouts at home?

Okay well on the WW scale I'm 223. On my at-home scale I'm 227. Kindof a big jump. I'll lose the at-home number so I'll be pleasantly surprised at my meetings.

Angie - the recipe looks good and DH says it sounds good to him too

Aka - Pleasantly surprised is always a good thing.

crainjo - A 5K? How fun! Congrats to your son for winning and to you for doing it.

Great! Now I'm sick, sore throat, sneezy, stuffy nose, etc., who knows what the scale will say tomorrow!

Roxy -- I just finished dinner and had to get here to tell you how good, no GREAT, that dinner was. OMG, for a cheap tough cut of steak, you'd never know....it fell apart and was so full of flavour. I will definitely make this again. I didn't cut the steaks into strips as it says in the recipe, I had about 6 steaks that were each about 6oz. Next time I might cut them in half, to have just big pieces. I'm already looking forward to eating leftovers for lunch tomorrow. BTW I did boil some potatoes - only 76 cal for a 1/2 cup, so I thought why not, I haven't had any other carbs today. Oh, and it made the house smell amazing too.

NSV ALERT: I purchased a pair of pants a few months ago that REALLY looked like they would fit. When I got home I don't think I could even get them above my thighs, it's possible they didn't really go past my knees. We've all been there! Right? :) I do know for a fact I COULD NOT wear them PERIOD...TODAY TODAY TODAY Just for kicks and giggles I tried them on -- and GUESS WHAT! I pulled them on and buttoned them WITH EASE -- and wore them out today (see pics on FB)!!!!! :carrot:

2 females, 1yr 9mo old, they grew up together and their owner died from cancer. they've been in the shelter awhile because not many people want to adopt 2 adult cats... but it's exactly what we were looking for. a young adult bonded pair. they are super adorable! and... we don't have to deal with trying to pick out names, because they already have names... pixie and brownie :)

LGW -- Fabulous NSV! Can't wait to check out the pick on FB.

Hmm, Tonight was Italian night. I'm not going to be weighing tomorrow. The last time we ate at this particular Italian restaurant I felt really full and bloated. I'm feeling the same way tonight. Their food tastes good, but it's too heavy for me. DH is already in bed, so I will tell him tomorrow that I don't think I want to go to this restaurant again anytime soon. Also, I am kinda upset with the waitress. We ordered a piece of cheesecake to share. I told the waitress about my nut allergy. I think the cheesecake had toffee in it. She said it didn't have any nuts. I think it did have nuts. I tasted nut pieces, not just the hard toffee candy. :dunno: I can't avoid nuts, no matter how hard I try. I'm grateful that I don't have bad reactions. Mine are just a PITA for a week or two. I think I am going to start taking the Allegra just in case I start having a reaction. Look out for the pending drama! :lol3:

Good morning my lovelies
I want to start todays post by saying how much I admire everyone here. It takes such a great deal of determination to conquer the burden of a weight problem, and even more so to face the problem head on, on the scale every day. Congratulations to each and every one of you - this has been such an eye opening journey in so many ways, not least in understanding our feelings and reasons
Stayed the same again today. I think my body is trying to tell me something about my weight, I have been around this weight up or down a few pounds, for two months now. I guess this is where my body wants to be for now. So I have decided, after the frank discussion I had with DH, that I will try to maintain this weight by following my WOE. If I lose more then it will be a bonus, but I think my mentality is such that I will continuously beat myself up for not achieving what could be an impossible goal. I am willing to re-evaluate, but for now, one step at a time, one day at a time.
Thank you for everything
Sam x

No posts from me yesterday, I knew it was a mistake getting on the scale yesterday because I was really tired, but I did it anyways! Got a bump up, but also noticed a pattern, I get a low number one day, bump up at least .7 the next day, new lower number the next, and gain the next - down, up, down, up - makes a girl crazy! ;) I don't know how I haven't seen that before! Anyways, today is NOT the day I'll see a lower number. I am exhausted. 6am on a Sunday morning? Should be illegal! I am off to work.

Good Morning!

I took a peak at the scale and I am up a couple pounds. Hopefully I will be able to stay in my maintenance range this long weekend. My lips look a little swollen. I don't know if it's from regular water weight or an allergic reaction. :dunno: Last night we ate really late because of the time DH got home from hunting. That may be part of the problem, too. Friday night, Mexican night, we ate early. My body was able to process everything early.

Today is the movie and lunch with my friend. Tonight is Japanese food. DH won't get home until late again because of where he has to drive from.

It's really funny, I stay on plan and look forward to holidays and celebrations so I can go off plan for a day or a weekend. While I am off plan I am completely miserable and can't wait to get back on plan. (I actually see this as something good) I literally don't feel good when I am off plan and I feel so much better on plan. Please tell me how crazy is all of that? :dizzy: :lol3:

No scale for me today, i am taking the day off.

Aimee - so with you on the 6 am wake ups on sunday, so wrong on so many levels. I can't wait for a vacation so I can do this thing i"ve heard about . . . sleeping in, it sounds like a wonderful thing lmao.

Love - you're absolutely right, staying the same is not a gain and I need to remember that. The scale will co operate eventually I just have to be consistant with what i'm doing.

LGW - AWESOME job on the nsv, don't you just love that feeling??

Well Jack and I are off to the boat today, so it'll be a long day of driving and sitting, i've adjusted my menu today to reflect, I won't need so many calories today so it's going to be a nice day of fresh fruits an veg from the market, Im actually looking forward to it.
Lots of fresh air for Jack should mean an early night sleep and a good session with the treadmill for me. I"ve decided to start the 100 pushups, 200 squats and 200 situps program to keep me motivated. I am going to do a modified version for lunges too, not all on the same day of course lol.
Hoping to at least see some sunshine today and get in a good amount of studyig, wish me luck!!!

Angie

Down .6 to 203.4 today...hoping for some whooshing action by tomorrow. I may have company for dinner but I've worked out my plan for the day and even if I make them a blueberry pie and have a piece and have 1 glass of wine I can still end my day at 1347 calories. If they are not coming, no pie, no wine, so a good low cal day.

Diana -- Good morning :) My friend has a son with severe nut allergies and in a restaurant if the waitress can't say with 100% confidence and certainty that it does not contain any trace of nuts, they just don't risk it. It sucks, but it's better than the potential consequences. I hope you are reaction free this morning -- good idea to take the allegra in advance. How was the italian food? What did you have (I will live vicariously through you until I get to maintenance :D) I hear you about being off plan and wanting to get back on. I had looked forward to a day of 'normalcy' when we went to the amusement park -- I knew there were limited choices there and that I'd be eating what I consider junk food for one meal. When I was saying to my friends that I hadn't eaten like this in a year, they were looking at me like I was a bit crazy because I'd had a burger/fries and ice creamy dessert/drink, which is probably quite normal for them, they didn't consider it junky at all. I felt like I was going WILD by eating those fries...lol. I hope you enjoy the movie today. What kind of restaurant are you going to for lunch?

Crainjo -- Sounds like a delicious dinner you made for your DW! You've been doing great, I'm sure one dinner won't slow you down too much.

LGW -- LOL @ 7/11 missing you  that's great!

Sam -- Good luck with your maintenance phase then! Maybe you can consider this a break for a few more months and then make some small adjustments that might bring you a few pounds lower in time? I heard on Dr. Oz the other day that just by drinking ice cold water you can lose 1lb per year -- the coldness forces your body to burn more calories to warm it in your stomach -- it would take 5 years, but at least it's an easy change :dizzy:

Susie -- Let the weigh in this morning be the motivation for you to stick to your plan today to see a lower number tomorrow. Stay strong!

Aimee -- Have a great day at work :)

Coondocks -- Have a fun day on the boat today. I hope you get in lots of studying and exercise :)

Angie Last night I didn't eat the normal Italian fare, although I did have some. I had fresh baked bread with garlic herb dipping oil, salad with homemade blue cheese dressing, grilled Prosciutto wrapped tenderloin with a mushroom/wine reduction. Instead of the veggies and other side that comes with it, I had a side order (much smaller than a regular order) of fettuccine alfredo with shrimp. Then we shared the cheesecake. For lunch we are going to Jason's deli. Are you familiar with Jason's? They have a lot of healthy options. I will have a turkey wrap w/fruit or steamed veggies. No popcorn at the movies. ;) I have enough problems without adding in popcorn. :lol3:

I am down 2.2 to 161.8. I think this whoosh is brought on by my having a total rest day yesterday. I am not good at taking rest days. My rest days are usually days when all I do is 90 minutes of yoga or I didn't workout because I did a few hours of yard work or something like that. Being sick forced me to take a rest day. It is quite possible that not having taken any true rest days in the last couple months helped me to get sick. I can hope that I will learn from this and take rest days. We shall see. I am mostly over the sickness today, there is a lingering scratchiness in my throat and a little stuffiness in the left half of my sinuses.

And I am now overweight           I have been not obese for a while according to my BF%, but even though I know the BMI scale is silly, it still feels good to be out of the obese category there too.

Angie - I am definitely adding that to my "to cook" list. Right now my list is pretty short. I have a lasagna to make, probably today, but that's it. It does sound like it would go well with potatoes, I will probably do the same (and save up my carbs for dinner on the day I make it). LMAO at you going "WILD" with fries, I felt that way when I decided to have fried pies on an off plan day a few months back. I kept saying "I'm eating fried pies" with amazement to my DH through the entire meal. I go off plan sometimes, but not THAT far off.

Rennie - I used to wish for will power and then I decided to make my own. I made that decision when I was quitting smoking and since it worked on that I know it can work on pretty much anything.

intentional - :welcome2:

LGW - :congrat: on the pants and your absence from 7-11

Mandy - Yay kitties! :yay: Please show us pictures when you can.

Diana - I'm sorry about the suspected nuts. :crossed: that your tongue was just crazy and it was toffee pieces. I feel the same way when I go off plan. When we visit my father and brothers it is next to impossible to stay on plan and as much as I love my family I can't wait to get home to my normal food. I can't wait for the day (2015) when home will be close to them so that I can have my cake but only eat it if I want to. I LOVE Jason's. Ours has these mini spiced bran muffins on the salad bar. If yours has them and you have never tried them you really should, OMG to die for!

starbrite - Maybe this is where you will stay long term or maybe your body just needs to take a somewhat long break from losing. Either way, good luck with the maintenance.

Aimee - I agree, 6am on Sunday is just wrong. I say this and yet most weeks my body wakes itself up at 6:20 anyhow, lol.

Coondocks - I hope you and Jack have an awesome day. Good luck getting in exercise and studying.

Kristi - Oh no, the popcorn demons! Theater popcorn is evil. Much water to drown it, and maybe some lemon too, throw acid in it's face, that should take care of it, lol. I gave up theater popcorn long ago, I take my own air popped stuff in my purse now and usually some raw veggies too.

crainjo - Now I need a ribeye! LOL Your gain is almost certainly mostly evil sodium water weight. Lots of water for you today too, and take a page from the chick book and add some lemon to it (or be completely crazy like me and just drink a shot of lemon juice), we're not insane, it really helps with water weight.

So we are stuck in the house again today....so boring! Cameron played an online game with his dad for a bit, and I cut the grass and started clearing out a closet. I have a pile of winter coats and snowsuits to get rid of today. I'm going to take them over to one of my neighbours (same one who dropped off her grandson yesterday) to see if they can use any of them and then the rest will go to Goodwill.

Crainjo -- That's not so bad afterall. I'm sure it's more due to the sodium than the calories. Enjoy the gym.

Diana -- Your dinner sounded great! I don't know Jason's, I'll have to look for one next time I'm cross-border shopping :) Your choices for lunch sound good too. I've been eating my own (low sodium, low fat) popcorn every day through TOM...it helps keep me sane and I'm willing to give up a lot in my day to have it :D

Roxy -- Fantastic! Congratulations on the whoosh and the important milestone! I can't wait to not be obese too...I think the magic number is 168lbs for me, although I don't feel that I look obese now. Just ate some leftover swiss steak for lunch - yum! I had to google fried pies, we don't have those here...they look amazing (and fattening) Hope you feel better soon.

LGW - Good job on the .8. I may be strange, but I think labeling people who are that far overweight as "morbidly" obese can be a good thing. When you are that far over a healthy weight you are often risking your life, so the morbid word makes sense. I know that hearing it is what finally scared my BFF into doing something, so I can reasonably assume that he is not the only one.

Gale - I hope today is a better day for you.

Angie - It's been a while since I looked obese, but I still needed to get out of the BMI range. Sadly, there is a fried pie shop less than 5 minutes from my house. I've been good though, that was the one and only time I have been there. I may go again as a b-day treat in March.

I have discovered that today marks something else too, I weigh less than DH. Barely, since he is 162.2 today, but still...

I didn't have time to exercise today. My friend and I ate lunch and then went to the movie. After the movie it was time for DH and I to go eat dinner. I rarely have a day that I don't exercise.

When we left the restaurant tonight, DH said he didn't want to eat out tomorrow. He wants corn flakes with a sliced banana for dinner. :lol3:

Good Morning, Everyone!

Hmm, I am real close to the top of my maintenance range this morning, 149.8. The soy sauce in the Japanese food last night is evil for sure. It's doesn't help that I ate all of my food on top of that. I am up almost 6 pounds since I started my Staycation. I ate so much better when we went out of town for vacation. This week I am suppose to get my hair cut. We normally go to a little Japanese restaurant. We already discussed that we are NOT going this month. The little place doesn't serve as much food as what we get at the other place (the place we went to last night).

I'm feeling rotten this morning (like I am hungover from a bad drunk  was the party really that fun? ;) :lol3: you know the feeling ;)) But I am glad that I am getting back on track today.

Another observation that I have made about myself, I prefer to have a single day that I go off plan rather than multiple days.

I am up .6 to 162.4. I'm ok with that. 2.2 is a huge amount for me to lose at once at this point, so I was kinda expecting to bump up today. Plus while my food was within my calorie and carb limits yesterday it was still not my norm, too heavy and 3 big meals and no snacks, and my sodium was high with no lemon. I still didn't exercise yesterday, but I did clean the house and spend hours making lasagna (9,071 calories worth), so not completely lazy.

What 9,071 calories can look like: http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i398/roxannerockafellor/lasagna.jpg

How I ate mine: http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i398/roxannerockafellor/lasagnaplate.jpg

Even with the small amount I had and having salad, my plate was 645 calories. That's not bad for lasagna, but still much more than I am used to in one meal these days. Thankfully, most of it was either eaten or sent away.

Today I am going to climb a mountain to work it off. My gym classes are cancelled for the holiday and DH is off work, so he and I are taking the opportunity to head over to Hot Springs.

Diana - Enjoy getting back to plan! I agree about off plan days being better if you take them one at a time. The second and following are never as good, I never enjoy the food as much. Plus, especially for newbies, it is so much easier to get back on plan if you've only been off for one day. When we were in Florida for nearly 2 weeks it was awful for me in the food area.

Angie - He is so cute in his tent! I love the way you are always finding fun for him. I hope you both got some sleep eventually though, lol.

Good morning :flow1: TOM is almost gone and I got a nice -1 today so back to 202.4, and I'm hoping for another nice whoosh tomorrow. Nothing planned for today except for laundry and cooking -- I love cooking, and don't mind laundry when there is not a mountain to do. Tonight's dinner is Eggplant Ricotta Bake (http://prouditaliancook.blogspot.com/2009/01/eggplant-ricotta-bake.html) with this salad (http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc193/prouditaliancook/PIC/zuc-3.jpg) (Zucchini Carpaccio). We will also be getting everything set for back to school -- time to sharpen the pencils! I'm so excited for Cameron to start first grade tomorrow -- he's going to have a desk!

Diana -- Cam finally fell asleep in there around 10:30..ugh! Then he woke (of course) when I moved him to his real bed. Holy major retention, can't wait to see you whooshing this week. It does feel better to stay on plan.

Sam -- Great news about your -1.2 today!

Roxy -- Your dinner looked amazing! We are having a similar dinner tonight, I can hardly wait. Cam is in his tent again this morning, only I've covered it with a big blanket so it's now a 'fort' and very private...he's watching a movie in there on the mini DVD player. I know he would love to have a friend over to enjoy it with him, but everyone is getting ready for back to school here today. I think most of the US schools have gone back already, but for us it's always the day after labour day, so it's nice to have one last long weekend before they go back.

FitGirlyGirl Your food looks fab! Isn't it funny when you eat something different (heavier foods, etc) how it can make you feel out of sorts. The 2 weeks away would make me nuts for sure!

Angie That eggplant dish looks awesome! Enjoy! I'm thinking the water won't start coming off for a couple of days since we ate so late last night. Also, I did eat some serious calories with the rice last night. I actually had some serious calories this weekend in general. Some of that gain will be from calories.

starbrite Congrats on the 1.2 pounds.

179.4 today, didn't get any studying done last night, Jack was a bundle of energy on stop as usual.
Going to take him to the park today, which one i'm not sure about but some fresh air for sure and "hopefully" he'll be asleep early enough to get in some reading on the treadmill tonight.

I really need a vacation just so I can study, oye.

I knew this was going to happen, but I'm still not happy about it. Up 1lb to 203.6. I had planned to keep on track with the water yesterday and I absolutely failed with that. Nothing major planned for the day, some light cleaning, laundry and cooking. My cousin and I are actually getting together for coffee this afternoon. She only lives 20 minutes away, but our schedules are so different that we've had a hard time coordinating them. Since I'm watching what I eat, and she's watching her budget, we decided to just do coffee rather than a meal out. I'm excited to see her, but have to have to do better with the water!

Back up 0.6 (212.4 from 211.8)...thought I was done with the 212's...patiently waiting on a whoosh and I would love to add another blinking light to my signature. I keep saying I need to go back to my tried and true and stop, what I call "tweaking"

I'm not doing that bad, but I did have a baja chicken salad yesterday (the SaladFarm was closed?) and a steak Fajita salad on Friday.

The good thing is that I know what I can have and maintain, but these are not the same items that help me lose the weight.

The reason I love this site -- I probably would not be weighing myself daily and at least thinking about why I'm maintaining and not losing.

So I shall cook my veggies for the week and I am going to really try to just go back to the basics this week and see if my theory is correct :)

Angie: I saved that eggplant recipe to my favorites for later - thanks for sharing

Ona: glad you ran pain-free today :)

Angie

Kukkie -- 1lb up is not so bad, it's probably mostly sodium so if you stick to the water today it should be gone in no time. Enjoy the coffee date with your cousin :)

Susie -- Today is the perfect day to get back on track; there's nothing to be done about what you've already eaten, but now you get to make new better decisions for yourself.

Crainjo -- At least you lost .2 -- hope you get your run in and stay dry today.

Ona -- Yay for jogging pain-free! Congratulations on your .4 today. Enjoy your nap!

aka8941 -- I weigh myself each morning, I get out of bed, go pee then come back and weigh in -- before food, before dressing. Can you skip the rice with your curry and ask for veggies instead?

LGW -- My eggplant ricotta bake is just waiting to go in the oven...I'll let you know how it turns out.

How do you all get through the weekend? I have NO self-control! Setting goals almost seems to make it worse (set a September goal to eat on plan for 30 days and even gave myself extra "on plan" calories for the weekends) but it's like my brain tells me I can't do it and then I go and eat everything in sight. Lately the weekends have only been 2 days and I've been able to manage them without too much guilt... this weekend though was 3 days and I feel like a complete failure.

I know that it's just 3 days and the scale will go up and I'll just have to work extra hard to make it go back down... but I'm still left wondering how I'm ever going to win... or IF I'm ever going to win. Anyone else have the same problem? Or some helpful suggestions/things that have helped you?

I knew I was probably going to have another gain since we ate so late the night before. Hopefully I am done with the gaining. I'm glad we didn't go to the steakhouse yesterday and I stopped with our staycation splurge when I did.

Diana - I love that you had to get back on plan, it was cute because you seemed almost desperate to get back on plan, gave me a giggle and smile! :)

Ona - good morning!

Kukkie - I always always have issues getting enough water, it's a successful day for me when I drink ANY water at work. Unfortunately I can't leave my dept. to go pee very often :(

I will be back later with today's WI, I ate SO weird yesterday so I'm not too sure it'll be good.

Well, I did go climb the mountain, and then I climbed to the top of the 216 foot tower (148 steps up - we took the stairs of course) that sits on top of it. We packed lovely healthy lunches and stopped at one of the picnic areas on the way back down. Sadly, when I got home I was starving and I had twice as much lasagna as the night before for a sodium total of over 3,000 for the day. I chased it with lemon and prevented a gain, but I also prevented any loss and am sitting at the same 162.4. I'm ok with it though, we had an awesome day.
This is us at the top of the tower:

Mandy - I love the pics of the kitties! They are just too cute.

Diana - :crossed: that you see no more gain and can start going back down now.

funny story, so when I first stepped on the scale it said 212.0 I always step on 3 times to confirm. The next 2 said 213.4 -- I figured that had to be right. Than I decided, well maybe not I'll do it again after I take a shower -- well 213.4 it was. I was praying that it was not higher than that, so I only stepped on once that time and called it a day LOL

alright ladies! back to the daily weighing for me :)

i faced the music and got on the wii fit today to get my weigh in... i'll still keep friday as my official weigh in/change the ticker day... but shockingly, after 2 weeks of really poor food choices, and the last 10 days to get back into the swing of things (meaning not 100% on plan, but mostly good food choices), i'm only up to 252.0 ... which means a gain of 3.8 pounds. and it was also my weight on the first of august, so while i can't post a loss for the month of august, i don't have to post a gain! :D

back to business! i'm going to set a fairly high goal of 242 for this month (which is 10 pounds), hopefully working hard to get there will see me at least get close. if i make it to 245 i will cheer :)

Well did pretty good all weekend until last night, then lost my mind and will power. Did not have the heart to step on the scale this morning. Back on plan today, 600 cals in so far. Put in 45 rigorous minutes on the treadmill, and burned 600 cals, plus about 50 pushups and 50 situps so far. Me and my son will go run our 5K this afternoon as the weather has turned very nice after Tropical Storm Lee. Will weigh in tonight after we run so things will not look as bad hopefully.

Well, I'm back from taking the long weekend off. I didn't actually plan to take it off but after what was shaping up to be a GREAT week, I woke up Friday morning for my official WI and was up 1.8! That completely unexpected gain just about sent me over the edge. I continued to track the rest of that day and never made it to the gym but did do Super Hoola Hoop and the Obstacle Course a few times on Wii Fit Plus, which was quite the workout! Then Saturday morning, I just didn't want to know what the scale had to say so I just decided...to heck with this, and stopped tracking and WI for the rest of the holiday weekend. I did make it to my Monday night BFC workout (which was emotionally tough and I'll share more about that with in just a bit) and got back on the scale this morning like a good girl. I was happy to see that I'd maintained my weight from Friday ALL the way to Tuesday morning. I really couldn't be happier! When I said to heck with it, I definitely wasn't throwing in the towel but I just couldn't keep facing that scale - who is clearly bound and determined to make me INSANE! :dizzy:

So, about my BFC workout at the gym last night. I don't know if I've told you guys but my younger brother passed away. It'll be 6 years this coming October. He was 24 years old and one of my best friends. He was a very handsome man but was overly concerned about his weight. (He MIGHT have needed to lose 15-20 lbs.) Anyway, he was in the military and stationed in AZ but was TDY at Beale AFB in CA so he was home with us for a few weeks. One afternoon he was at the gym, running on the treadmill, and had a heart attack. He was gone...just like that. Every lifesaving effort was made (CPR, defibrillator) by the amazing folks in the gym with him but he was gone...and never came back...even for a moment. This all happened quite a while ago but he’s obviously still in my thoughts often and always in my heart. So last night, our personal trainer had us running on the treadmill. We were in two person teams, running a mile relay (ľ mile each) and I was nervous. I’ve done a lot of walking…but NEVER running! I decided I really need to push myself so I can break through this crazy plateau I'm on so I kicked it into high gear (which = 4.8 mph for me). I make it through my first sprint fine, REALLY tired, but fine and get back on for my second 1/4 mile sprint. I’m running…focused completely on my breathing, I can hear my teammate cheering me on as I get closer to the end. My lungs are burning and my legs are getting weak and everything gets quiet...I’m in the zone, completely focused on finishing. All I can hear is my breathing and my footsteps thumping on the treadmill. And then, I get this flash of brother…him…running on that treadmill, steps faltering as his heart stopped. I faltered for a moment myself at the heartwrenching sorrow that immediately followed the image but finished my sprint and headed to the bathroom to get my cry on. It’s not like I’ve been avoiding treadmills or even avoiding running for that matter. The image was completely unexpected but powerful. I completed the rest of the workout and then cried a bit more once I was completely done. The trainer talked with me for a minute at the end when she realized something was wrong. She didn’t know about my brother and apologized like she’d done something wrong. I said no, it’s not like she forced me to face some fear, I just wasn’t expecting that and it took me off guard. Then she encouraged me by letting me know that I completely rocked the challenge. That she was not expecting me to be running my a$$ off like that and that she was proud me. She then added that my brother was likely proud of me too and I think she’s right. So, the silver lining here…I ran two 3 minutes sprints at 4.8 MPH and a 2.0 incline! Woo hoo! (Plus I added a pic of my bro below.)

Sorry ladies, that was a long one. :D Thanks so much for being my friends through this amazingly complicated journey.

Kwigg -- Thanks for the kinds words. That's definitely what I LOVE about 3FC and MFP...the accountability. We all help keep each other on track. :D

Rennie -- Sorry about the arm smacking w/ your daughter but SO happy to know that I'm normal...especially when I hear of women whom I respect so much as women and mother's making the same momentary errors that I do. Thanks for sharing!

Aimee -- I hope your chili was as great the 2nd day as it was the first. I have actually found that my homemade chili is often better the 2nd/3rd days after sitting in it's yummy flavors for that extra time. What about you? Nice loss Friday morning girly! Those 260's are SO close!! And I'm really sorry to hear about your loss. And yes, 6am on a Sunday morning SHOULD be illegal!

Angie -- Things on the diet side are okay but I think there's clearly something awry since I've been in such a weird pattern for so long. I've rearranged things on the physical side with the BFC and that didn't help so maybe the diet side is where I need to shake things up now. I have been getting more protein but I think my calorie intake is off. Going to try to land them a little higher for a few days and see what happens. I hope you had fun at the amusement park on Friday but I'm sorry about the :joker: gain that followed Sat morning.

Star -- Looking good girly! Keep it up!

Diana -- Your labor day weekend plan sound like fun. I hope you had a great time! And yea, like Kukki said, I saw The Help too and LOVED it! It was a big tear jerker for me and my throat was sore afterwards because of the lump I had almost the entire time! It wasn't all sad though...lots of funny parts too. Truly a GREAT movie IMHO. From here, it looks like your higher calorie days have been working out well. Still under your maintenance range...GREAT JOB!

Susie -- Getting back on plan sounds like a GREAT plan! :D

Kukkie -- Wow! You sounded so tired in your post last Friday. I'm really glad that you were able to catch up a bit Friday night. I hope you were able to catch up on your sleep. Your new 12-week program sounds great! BIG CONGRATS on your weekend losses!

Slimby -- WELCOME!!

FitKristi -- Great WI on Friday and Saturday! You are doing GREAT! Yikes on that sodium gain. At least you know what it is though and that it won't stay.

Roxy -- Yea for Friday AND Saturday whooshes!! ;) And sorry about the Sat morning ickies! Rest days are VERY important and good for you for FINALLY taking one! I LOVE the pic of you and DH!

Coondocks -- REALLY sorry to hear about the migraine that started off your September. Hopefully it'll all be downhill from there! Did you and Jack have a nice day Sunday?

Ona -- I did get my hug last Thursday night and it was great! Of course he did care at all that I got on to him the night before. Kids are so inherently forgiving and loving...it truly is a thing of beauty! Congrats on those size 12's girl and good for you for taking a few days off from exercising. It sounds like it did you some mental good! I'm assuming your Saturday post had you at 175.8 rather than the 195.8 that you posted. GREAT JOB!

Gale -- Great job so far this month and BIG CONGRATS with your Sat morn whoosh! Happy belated birthday to lil' Eli!

LGW -- WTG telling that scale who's boss! ;) I LOVE it! And even better that it actually listened! BIG congrats on fitting into those great jeans! I love the 7-11 story too! GREAT job girly!

Mandy -- Sorry to hear that your workout buddy is turning out to be a non-workout buddy. :( Sounds like you have the right attitude about it though. It's not really a big deal that she's not there since you zone out (like most of do I think) once you're there. Good luck with the "i don't wannt go" stuff in the mornings! Big congrats on your new family members! I LOVE torties! They look so sweet!

Sam -- I'm happy to learn that your DD is back home, safe and sound and that she had a great time! I'm also really glad that things went so well with the conversation with DH! I don't think there's anything wrong with re-evaluting goals and changing whatever needs to change. The most important thing is that you're happy with where you're at! Nice whoosh Sunday morning! I think that's how it works. Stop stressing about the number and BAM! ;)

Crainjo -- Great job!! :carrot: Congrats to your son on his 1st place finish!!

aka8941 -- Doing great! Keep it up! And yea, I think most of us WI before eating but after the using restroom.

Intentional -- WELCOME!!

Jami - Wow. Just wow. That is an amazing story you shared with us, thank you. I'm so sorry for the loss of your brother, I can't quite begin to imagine how devastating that would be. You rocked that treadmill, girl and I'm so very sure that he was proud as proud could be of you! (And if that's him in that picture, what a handsome guy!)

BINGE ALERT: so for some reason I convinced myself to have BR ice cream today (2 scoops) -- I did (at least) look for sugar-free -- which they did not have.

I only feel bad because I promised myself I would stay OP since I've been maintaining the same weight since about 8/19 -- however, I actually said to myself (BELIEVE IT OR NOT) that I'd better have this BR now that I'm not losing, because I don't want to have it after a whoosh and destroy the whoosh LOL :) I also wanted BR yesterday for the holiday but they were closed and I got off early today and yada yada yada (for you Seinfeld fans)

I know in order to get the weight off I have to be somewhat strict in the "losing" phase - I know, I said this just this weekend -- Early on I "tweaked" like once a week and noticed that it stalled my weight loss and I stopped -- I've actually not had an outright off-plan moment like this in about 2 months :(

On a good note, I tried spaghetti squash for dinner last night and it was delicious. I made it with ground turkey, which I added waaayyy to much Oregano, so I have to modify it for dinner today.

Angie, I tried the zucchini - with lemon/oil? didn't come out right, if your zucchini came out OK, maybe you can give me some pointers as I have a lot of zucchini left

DID YOU GUYS KNOW THAT 3FC HAS TONS OF RECIPES!!!! check out the home page

Hey all! I'm up 1lb today to 203.4 I'm going to assume there was more sodium in something than I realized. My fingers were swollen this morning, but I really didn't expect this. Crossing everything for a big whoosh tomorrow.

Diana -- What do you think is the number of calories you could eat daily and maintain at this point? Is it an average of your higher calorie days with your normal 1400 range? I'm sure you'll be headed back down again tomorrow.

Ona  hope you had a great day!

Kukkie -- Good job on holding steady...hope you got your water today...I don't think I did now that you mention it..lol

Aimee -- Congratulations on the great results in your first week back on plan!

Roxy -- That's a great picture, you look amazing! I love your hair colour, it's darker than before, right? You can change that eggplant recipe too, just take each slice and put a tablespoon of the ricotta mixture, plus a tablespoon of tomato sauce, then roll it up and bake it. Then you have a bunch of eggplant ricotta roll ups and you cna freeze them and just pull out as many as you like. :)

Coondocks -- You have to try the eggplant thing, it is delicious -- I make Cameron eat weird stuff like this all the time and have done so since he was so little so now this stuff doesn't faze him at all - you have to get 'em while they are young ;)

LGW -- Sorry about the gain...I'd stay off that scale after that sneak attack it gave you! For zucchini, I do it 2 ways...one is to use a potato peeler and just keep peeling away until you get down to seeds...then you take all those paper thin slices and lightly sautee them in a hot pan (use olive oil, or a bit of butter, whatever you plan allows) with a little bit of garlic, or parmesan. The other way is to slice them into 1/2 inch slices, toss in olive oil, salt and pepper and just grill them until they have nice marks on them and are pretty tender, but not mushy. You could also slice one in half, hollow out both side and fill it with a ricotta/egg/basil mixture and then put a little tomato sauce on it. God I'm getting hungry now. :)

Mandy -- I'm happy for you that not too much damage was done while you were off plan. Can't wait to see you attacking that September goal!

Crainjo -- I'm a big fan of greek yogurt too...it's my breakfast every day :)

Jami -- Oh your story about your brother and running and your experience really choked me up; I'm sorry that you lost him, that is such a shame.

Kwigg -- I just try to think about how I will feel later, or I try to distract myself somehow when I'm feeling extremely munchy. You can always make yourself do something before you eat something..ie/ okay, if I wash all the floors in the house then I can go ahead and have (fill in the blank) and then if you want something else, make yourself change the sheets on teh bed, or clean toilets...lol -- if nothing else your home will be spotless.

Rennie -- Where are you? I'm missing you, hope you are well.

ladies, the day was mostly a success! i've drank so much water i've had to refill my filtration pitcher twice! (we don't have water dispensing fridges here... i feel so lost) and i think it holds half a gallon. i'm pretty sure i went over my calories today because i made a cheese dip that turned out much better than i expected and i ended up eating a bunch of it... but i didn't have breakfast and lunch and dinner were fairly light (maybe 700ish calories between the two) so unless i ate over 700 calories worth of cheese dip, then i'm gonna be okay! back to the gym tomorrow (i missed today because my workout buddy had a doctor's appointment, and i was leery of leaving the kitties home alone). i think the kitties will be fine here alone for an hour tomorrow while i wander over to the fitness center :)

and now for off topic cuteness: this has to be my favorite picture so far...

brownie heard my cell phone ding with a text message and wanted to answer it :)

Ona, Kukkie, LGW, Mandy, Kwigg Hi

Aimee Yes, I was really looking forward to getting back on track. That is a more comfortable feeling for me. :dunno: Congrats on the .5.

Fitgirlygirl You look awesome!

Coondocks Great job on the scale going in the right direction! :carrot:

Gale All you can do is keep on trying. Just don't give up.

Aka8941 Were you around when I went out of town at the 4th of July? I learned something about myself. Alcohol gives me a really bad case of the munchies! I can eat a lot of food, alcohol or no alcohol. Me + alcohol = diet disaster  I literally could eat you out of house and home once I get the munchies. Today is a new day! You can do it.

Crainjo I haven't tried the caramel flavor yet. I do like all of the other flavors of Oikos, though. I will have to try the caramel.

JamiSue Sorry about your brother, but thank you for sharing. About The Help, you gotta love the part about the pie!

Angie I'm not really sure how many calories I would need to maintain. The 1440 + coffee actually equals 1700-1800 calories. Saturday's average is a little higher. I have continued to lose at this calorie range. :dunno: ETA: I think my daily range may be even higher because I don't count the calories in the vegetables in my omelet. I use a large amount of vegetables, too. :o

Never officially had a final check in for august! I was down exactly 11 pounds last month!! Ended at 245, started august at 255. I never want to be back there again. All year it seems I have struggled with the same 15 pounds. Up and down! I am ready to leave the 240's for good.

Sept 6: 243.2
Sept 7: 243.0

stayed the same today, missed my work out last night for good reason . . . I FELL ASLEEP! I actually got in more than 5 hours last night, holy crap! Feeling fabulous today, except the sore muscles from the day before, but at least I know i'm doing some good for them.

Angie - I'm all over that eggplant. I do the same with Jack, he has been exposed to new things from day one. he makes the funniest face if he doesnt like it "I dont like dis" and drops it onto the table, but he will try them, that's the important thing. I still have the only 2 year old i've ever seen eat papaya, squash, beets, exotic fruits and his daycare ladies favourite to watch . . .steamed broccoli!

Kukkie - Awesome job on the 1.1!! I've never tried the oikas yogurt, but I have found that I really like the superstore brand greek yogurt with honey. I add in fruit to it and i LOVE it, might be worth trying

Diana - I'm determined to keep this scale moving right for me, good on ya getting back OP, you have to do what is going to make you happy - and wow are you rocking it!!

Jami - You're brother would have been proud, no doubt. I'm proud of you for it, that is A-W-E-S-O-M-E . . . im inspired to do the same :)

FitKristi - Great WI, i'm taking it to a new decade this month . . . I have a feeling you'll do the same!

Why can't posting on 3FC be my job? Back to work I go . . . . I'm procrastinating, I really don't want to do the mound of work piled up on my desk. It's training day, and I don't want to sound like an a-hole, but the person I'm training has no business doing this job at all. i've told my super and its "Well, see what you can do"
Oye. Wish me luck.

I am back down the extra .6, back to 161.8.

Thank you everyone for your sweet comments about my picture.

I am considering doing my first 5K in October. It is not a serious one, more fun than anything else. It is a mud run with costumes. DH wants to do it with me. Now we need costume ideas.

Coondocks - The zoo is at the top of my list of things I can't wait to do with little ones (hurry up Mr. Social Worker!). I was proud and I'd kinda like to see that view in the winter, with snow, but I don't think I can talk DH into it. You can't really tell in the picture, but the poor boy was terrified.

Gale - One of the quotes on my wall of stickies (I think I originally got this one here on 3FC somewhere): You don't drown by falling in the water, you drown by staying there. ~Edwin Louis Cole

LGW - That's awesome that your job has such an incentive program. I like to see the ones that have rewards without being too competitive.

Mandy - Welcome back to the scale. 3.8 is not so bad and will be gone in no time. Brownie is so cute with the phone, she looks like you caught her up to no good.

Jami - I am sorry for the loss of your brother. I know he is proud of you and happy to see his sister working out and getting healthy.

Angie - Yes, I darkened my hair. I am thinking of letting it grow out so I wanted to put it back to my natural color, but it came out a bit darker than that. I'm hoping it will fade a little. I may try the roll-up idea with that eggplant recipe, then I can have them for lunches.

Diana - glad to see your scale is headed down now.

Cutie - Congrats on the great loss in August.

Down 1.2 (from 213.4 to 212.2)...I will take it...although I more inclined to believe the 212 from yesterday and that I actually gained 0.2...at any rate...will stick to my plan today and patiently await a whoosh that I am due...

Have a great WI everyone

Roxy - I saw the picture on Facebook too, you look great! :) You are getting pretty close to the 150's! that's pretty exciting! I totally think you should do the 5K! Sounds like a lot of fun!

Gale - we all have little slips, but the trick is to get back on plan! So even if you aren't posting your WI, post how you are doing back on plan :D My issue is going off plan and never back on

Coondocks - Unfortunately I'm on a bad work stretch, I'm working every Friday night, and every Saturday. But I need the hours so I'm sucking it up! If I plan to go to San Francisco I'm going to need all the money I can get!! Have you tried to Lemonade at the market? I have a friend who works there! I am doing to my best to get out of these darn 260's, and stay out of them! I'm also trying to keep my goals realistic. How's that for a novel ;) I can SO relate on the training thing, we are in a hiring crunch at work right now too, and NO ONE seems to care! We have 2 training classes before meetings and Christmas, and everyone is leaving everything to the last second. Unfortunately for some it means no going to Whistler for 1 week of meetings and free goodies. Everyone is blaming is on someone else, oh my. Frustrating :) Glad to hear you got some sleep!

LGW - that's an interesting incentive! How's it going so far? I'd probably call it a day after the last WI too! What's BR ice cream? I love spaghetti squash, I always make myself a homemade tomato sauce with TONS of veggies and ground chicken (like a meat sauce) to go with it. Hmm, I might have to do that next week!

Mandy - Congrats on no gain's in August!

Jami - Your brother is very handsome, thanks for posting the picture - I'm a very visual person. Sorry to hear about your loss  Our triggers sure can get us when we least expect it, but it sounds like you handled yours pretty well. Congrats to you for staying with the treadmill workout and not letting that keep you from your goals. I'm sure that's what he would have wanted, thanks for sharing the story as well. The chili is still very yummy, I froze 5 portions and still have 2 more to eat!

Angie - don't you hate that feeling in the morning when you wake up and your fingers feel like little sausages! Worst feeling! Hopefully that sodium has whooshed away!

Crainjo - sounds great! We don't have the same brand's in Canada unfortunately, and I've never found anything but vanilla flavoured greek yogurt! But it is pretty great, and a little goes a long way!

Diana - I sure can't wait to get to that mentality :) I do feel better on plan, but I'm quick to drop it when things get too crazy for me. Bad habit! :o

Kukkie - congrats on the loss :) Do you find that the more tired you are the more you seem to maintain/gain? Good luck with the water today!

kristi - great loss today!

Ona - Thanks! I'm so impressed with your working out! You are the fitness queen - if you could bottle some of that and send it my way, that would be fabulous!

CutieCourt - congrats on August!! That's great results :) And you can totally kick the 240's to the curb this month!!

I will bbl with my WI! I have half the day off - I have a cosmetics school later. Would have been nice to stay in my pj's all day though,

Coon I didn't know Superstore even had their own brand of greek yogurt. You're talking about PC right? I'm going to have my mom check, since she works at a Superstore. Get this, I didn't get my workout in for the SAME REASON. I absolutely knocked out yesterday.

Aimee I don't necessarily see it on a day to day basis, but if I've gone a few days without a good night's sleep then I definitely think it adds up and affects my weight. Water is a biggie for me too, I've also been a big water drinker, so when I don't get that in, I gain.

Angie I had my moments this weekend but I canít complain. I enjoyed myself totally. We have propane heat which cost a fortune. So the longer it last the better, itís super expensive. :( We keep two tanks on hand for our grill ;)

Diana sorry about the bloated feeling from the Italian restaurant but I think pasta in general is heavy. I love the fact that I would have to portion it to eat it makes me feel better when I get up from the table (so I guess Iíve learned something that has stuck on this journey :)). Kukkie Ė Thanks so much. It was definitely a powerful moment for me. Itís a big reminder that I actually am saving my life. :D Congrats on getting all that water in girly!

Coondocks Ė I wish 3FC posting could be my job too! Then I wouldnít feel so bad for ignoring all this work sitting on my desk because I just HAVE to talk to my girls! Congrats on getting that much needed rest last night. You definitely needed it. And big thanks for the kind words. I felt pretty A-W-E-S-O-M-E once I dealt with the memory of my bro and realized how much Iíd accomplished!

LGW Iím gonna call you NSV Lady :) Thatís great that you have resisted all the temptations of the 7-11. The Hostess monster calls my name when I go in there Ö Havenít figured out how to drown it out yet, so I just send the kids in for their slurpees :)

Sam I donít detect happy with your willingness to maintain right now. I think that you will probably lose a little more sooner than you think. You definitely know how, itís just your mind right now. When you stop thinking about it you will start losing again because that is what you want to do (just my opinion) Take care  ... see youíre now down to 150 : )

Susie sorry the sodium monster got to you, itíll be gone before you know it

Aimee sorry about the early morning Sunday, and up down, up down will definitely make us crazy

Diana Ö this is funny, ---> I stay on plan and look forward to holidays and celebrations so I can go off plan for a day or a weekend. While I am off plan I am completely miserable and can't wait to get back on plan. (I actually see this as something good) I literally don't feel good when I am off plan and I feel so much better on plan. Please tell me how crazy is all of that? <---- I love it and it is so so true for us all at some point Iím sure  Diana you dinner at the Italian restaurant sounded great  Yay for on plan days

Coondocks, oh my goodness. Hope you and Jack had a ball. Ö I am never gonna catch up to you. Your exercise regimen is a dozy, wow. I just got the treadmill up to a 5.0 incline  Oh well keep it going :high: : )

Angie good job on the .6 down : ) and I like your plan for the yay or nay on the pie and the wine :high: I read the cold water topic somewhere also I canít drink really cold water, has to be room temperature for me, not sure why. :dizzy: :) Kids gotta love Ďum Ö they are so funny and unpredictable :)

Kukkie your plan for moderate portions sounds great for Sunday hope you did well

Kristi, sorry about the sodium gain from the popcorn

crainjo not a bad gain at all for a great dinner :)

Roxy great whoosh, glad you got some rest, sorry you arenít feeling well  feel better soon and Congratulations on being overweight Ö YAY YOU :high: Weighing less than hubby thatís great. I was so happy when I could fit my hubbyís 40 inch shorts, now they are too big, thank goodness ;)

aka

LGW good job on the .8 down, I love ribs. They had then where we were on Saturday and they just didnít look good at all. Our oldest son said they were tasty and tender, I guess it was just me then with their look (maybe that was a good thing huh ;))

Gale great attitude Sunday Ö moving on

Hi Ona glad youíre rested and feeling a little better, donít over do it though

Mandy they are probably just nervous. How long were they at the shelter? Hope they are a little more relaxed as the days go by.

Well CRAP! I went to change into my running clothes, and found that I had not packed my running shorts this morning. I have everything but the shorts. Oh well, will have to do some pushups and situps in my office instead, and try to get a run in this afternoon/tonight.

Sam good job on the 1.2lbs gone :)

Diana glad youíre back on plan. :) And I am with you 100%, I would much rather have one off plan day than 3 or 4 Ö it honestly shows me that I donít have any discipline where food is concerned (shaking my head) Hoping the sodium gain goes away quickly

Roxy your dinner looks so good, yum yum

Angie good job on the pound down :) Glad Cam finally went to sleep. Did you eat your popcorn? Our kids went back to school yesterday also. Our poor pencil sharpener is so tired  Glad your dinner turned out wonderfully :) I've never had eggplant before, what does it take like?

Coondocks sorry you didnít get to study on Sunday  Hope you were able to on Monday

Kukkie , a pound isnít bad and you know it is all sodium  I find that I donít do as well with my water when Iím moving around a lot unless itís at home or at work (when I worked). I guess it just being right there makes it easier to chug than if I have to think, I want something to drink, go get it but take all day to finish it, if that makes sense :dizzy:

Me too Susie  commenting from the 5th

crainjo good job on the .2, itís been raining here since Monday also

Ona good job on the .4 down, glad youíre feeling much better

aka good job on the 1.5lbs down and yes I weigh in the morning when I get up after I empty my bladder :)

:welcome: JustSharing

LGW, I have decided to put the pad back on the counter also (my original way of doing things when I started) hope it works for me this time also :)

Hi WBLA

Aw Mandy poor kitty and poor you  with your new baby's, maybe a kitty toy and a blanket, just a thought, may help her rest better :)

kwigg, I have more control if I am home (sometimes and sometimes not) and you will win and you can do it. It is hard for sure. I have even had to go upstairs when everyone else goes and tell them to ask me where Iím going if I look like Iím going back down. Iíd do a ton of sneak eating and feel horrible afterwards. It takes time but youíll get pass this point
