It is very overcast and a lovely breeze, yesterday was the hottest day for 21 years and in parts of our state it reached 47 degrees, and that is hot, damn hot:D
Trudy What an interesting site, I had never heard of 'sundogs', magnificent photography.
I was up very early this morning, the pain in my hips and now the tops of my legs is bad news. For a few days the arthiritis medication seemed to have helped but the last few nights, the discomfort/pain is as bad as it was before:( Not sure what I am going to do about it. No time left to go to my doctor, tomorrow is Australia day and a public holiday so that leaves only Tuesday and we leave very early (like 6 am at the airport by 5am) Wednesday.
Sally, Lily is quite right and I should also tell you a little about myself........I am 57, married for 32 years (and I even still like him:D) and have 2 children, a son and daughter. Both got married last year, my daughter at the beginning of the year and my son surprised us all by marrying at the end of the year. DH worked for the one company for 37 years until 2 years ago when he took a redundancy package and got a job with Lucent Technologies. His job entails a lot of travel and that is now what we do, we leave for 3-4 months on Wednesday for New Zealand.
You may like to have a look at my website and admire the lovely wedding photos of my daughter and son.
Yes and I am also trying to get rid of some of my excess baggage. Coming here reminds me everytime to get on with it!!!
I love my computer and do a lot of stuff with Adobe Photoshop that I think is just the best!
I also like any crafts, gardening and reading.
My 5 minute 'net' allowance is up and I must get on with it especially now it is so cool.
Cheers

Noticed Ann replied in the previous thread, probably the same time as I started the new one.
I thought I would 'cut&paste' Ann's post here.
Your Benny Goodman night sounded a lot of fun!
Hi
Well we are warmer today. Love it.
The concert last night was great. a real big band and they played all the stuff that made Benny Goodman famous. The clarinet player who did all his stuff was really good. And the drummer caught my eye. He could imitate Gene Krupa without a hitch and he had fun doing it. Big smiles all the time. The band was 3 trumpets, 3 trombones, 5 saxophones, Piano, Bass and drums. Of course this kind of music brings nostalgia to me. There was also a very good female vocalist, and she could sound a bit like Peggy Lee. When I was growing up all the Big bands were just beginning to be on the way out, so we got to hear them all one way or another. I can remember going to the Paramout theater in NYC and hearing Gene Krupa in person. What a drummer.:
Tomorrow is the big day for our area. you just cannot believe the hype about the Super Bowl. Of course this is the first time the Tampa Bucaneers have ever made it this far, so it has been constant celebration and interviews, etc on the t.v.
Didn't go to WW today as I had stayed the same, and frankly I didn't want to pay.
Maria: How did the oven turn out? That is a dreaded job for me. I need to do mine. checked the sight about the tesselated tiles. They are really beautiful. Did you pick out one of the patterns. They sort of make me think of a Persian rug, done in tile.
Slavika: How is the Princess?
Lily: Thanks for the info about the climate there. You are probably just the right distance away from the ski slopes, so you can drive there if you've a mind to. Too far from San Diego to get all the Super Bowl hype.
Sally: I have a cousin who lived in Spokane Wa. He was head Librarian at the University there. He was quite a young man, in his 50's when he passed away, from complications of diabetes. His wife and son still live there. Where are you located in relationship to Spokane?
Hi everyone. Hope your Sunday is a good one. Ann

:grouphug: Hi Everybody
DH and I went out early yesterday morning and did buy a new central vac system. It will be installed tomorrow morning. I'm sure I will notice a big difference in the sucking power with this new one. :)
One of DH auto dealerships had a "gently used" Toyota Avalon delivered to our place yesterday afternoon for him to try out. We had to make a Costco run so we tried out the new car. Well I was certainly sold when I discovered this car had HEATED SEATS. That is certainly a nice feature to have in a car when you have really cold winters. :cloud9: DH was not really planning on getting another car until closer to the time he retires but now he is thinking maybe he will get this one and then trade it off in a year or so and get a new one.
DH/son/dil/and grandson all went to a hockey game last night so they dropped my little Princess off to spend time with me. She still has the rash. The rash on her face is a SOLID darker pink colour then the skin on her face and then she has a bit of a rash on her neck but that again is different. It is more like "hives". The specialist they took her to is inclined to think it was the first dose of antibiotics that she was on (for her ear infection) that has caused this but will not know for sure until the allergy tests are done I guess. Some of you might remember when I went to Maui last year and had that infection in my teeth. I didn't have time to do anything about those teeth before I left so the dentist gave me antibiotics to take for the whole month I was there (then I got the teeth implants when I got home). I broke out in a terrible rash and thought I had a sun rash which I had before but not so bad. It was not until I got home that one of my friends, in fact it might have been Trudy mentioned that it could have been from the medication. Of course that was it, but I just didn't think of that at the time. I thought it was strange that I had the rash on parts of my body that were certainly not exposed to the sun.
Maria I took a look at the web site for the tile. Oh my it certainly is lovely. That's too bad that you are still experiencing pain like that. I guess you will just have to keep after your doctor to see what else can be done. My friend who is in Maui now.....well last year when she came home her doctor had started her on medicine for her cholesterol which was a little high. Well that gal suffered something terrible with pain in her legs and especially her hips. She mentioned it to someone who told her it could be her cholesterol medication that was causing it. She went back to her doctor and asked if this was possible and he said, "absolutely, it was possible", it was a side effect of the drug that some people got. She went off that drug, and the pain went away. I don't know if you take any medication for cholesterol but thought I would mention it.
Ann it sounds like the concert was wonderful. Glad you enjoyed it. I think I would have enjoyed it too. :)

As you football fans know, the Tampa bucaneers were the big winners yesterday. There is no way that anyone in this area is not sucked into a bit of the hype, since all of our TV stations come from Tampa. You can't believe all the hype and the big parties and yelling in the streets last night. They were even fearful of damage being done if the celebrations got out of hand. Har to believe that kind of idiocy.:dizzy:
Slavika: Sorry the princess is still bothered by the rash. Hope the tests will prove someting.
Maria: Thank you for pasting my post. I was wondering why I didn't get my email notification of new posts. I have learned to just check anyway. ;)
We have to take a friend to the airport on Wed. A sad story. She is Norwegian, lives here in the park about 6 months. Last summer she had surgery at home, recovered and came here. She has had a reocurrance of the problem here, and so her Norwegian medical insurance won't cover any procedure here. They are flying her home. I fear we will not see her again, as her liver is involved. She is a lovely person, and so full of life, even now, planning for next year when she returns, tho' I feel deep down she knows the score.
Hi everyone. Have a good week. Ann

G'day all,
Well last day home, the next post will be from New Zealand.
I am feeling much better this morning, I got some strong painkillers yesterday that also have a bit of a sedative and I had a good night sleep after getting about 2-3 hours the night before:(.
DH is stressing, he has to get a report out by the end of the day and of course we are packing.
Slavika interesting what you said about your friends experience with the cholestrol medication. I was on that sort of medication but have not taken it for some months. As I already said, this morning I do feel much better. I just wish there was some pattern so I could work it out a bit what is going on.
I was so bad yesterday that I wondered how I would cope with going, thank goodness it is so much better today.
Sorry to hear 'the princess' still has the rash:(
I can imagine heated seats would be very nice in your climate, it something we can do without at the moment!
Ann Yes we saw on our news services here that Tampa won and I thought of you. Of course the idiots were highlighted with some of the damage they did. I am sure they were in the minority but I guess normal happy people don't make the news:dizzy:
This morning there was a picture of Shania Twain in the outfit she wore when she sang at the game. I quite like her music and she looked fantastic in her 'glitzy' outfit, what a figure!
Sorry to hear about your Norwegian friend, maybe if it is true that you may not see her again, perhaps could you make your next holiday in Norway and pay her a surprise visit?
By the way, you asked in your last post how my oven turned out, I am so glad you did because I had forgotten all about it:D I had sprayed it with some spray that is best to leave to do its work for 24 hours, and until I read your post I had forgotten all about my sprayed oven:dizzy: It is sparkling and gleaming now, thank you!
A friend called in yesterday with a gift for DH. He belongs to the Mercedes club and he bought a small replica of our 'dream machine', same colour and all:) I thought that was very kind.
The weather is hotting up again, what a summer we have had. I am glad I am not here for the end of it.
See ya all in New Zealand :D
Cheers

Could very well be the medication.
Ann: Didnt see the game. Im not a football fan. Glad your team won!
MAria: Have a safe trip!
Havent been able to get here for a few days. Well shouldnt say that got here but it took forever to load. I get impatient so I left :)
Have a great night all!

Hi Girls,
Well here I am again, very hot but not as hot as Maria had in Adelaide - any way it will be better in New Zealand.
Anne saw the football on tele yesterday and am very glad that Tampa won (didn't like the other team) anyway I can understand that you would be carried along on the hype of it.
Slavika Hope that the "princess's " rash is going down. It could be hives, medication or anything that she has eaten. Get well again little girl.
Maria By now you will be in New Zealand and cooler weather. Have you ever taken celery tablets (4 daily) combined with your Vioxx? I take them and find that they give me great relief.
Well everyone have a good day.
Love to you all.

G'day all,
We arrived yesterday to a lovely cool New Zealand.
We are here Wellington which is a rather pretty, old city. I am surprised how mountainous it is and everything is 'up hill and down dale'.
The apartment we are staying at and which looked so great on the internet is the pits! It is so small that we can hardly turn. It really is a long corridor with 2 very small windows, one in the living area and one in the bedroom. It doesn't give enough light to see by so the lights are on constantly. TV in living area and bedroom are mounted on the wall giving one a 'crick' in the neck if you watch for too long:D It has only been open 2 years and the price charged ($180 per night) one would expect something a bit better than this.
I never take a hairdryer because they are always provided, well not here:( We were thinking of moving but as we are here only till Tuesday, we decided not to bother.
I set out at 8.30 this morning and I am now at an internet cafe.
I am not sure what we will do at the weekend but there are many places to explore and to see.
Jeneye I haven't tried the celery tablets with the vioxx, I have now decided to not take anything other than painkillers when it gets really bad. I will have it all fully investigated when I get back home.
Have a great day all, I'll be off for a bit more exploring!
Cheers

I see so much has been going on since I was here last. I just can't get rid of this cold and I think I have had a touch of the flu. Feeling better today. A lot of schools have been closed because of illness. We went to a Super Bowl party and we all take different kinds of soup, hence a Souper Bowl Party. I didn't care who won=like to see the commercials which weren't so good this year. Went out Monday to see some ice sculptures and then got sick again. Welcome Sally, I am in Ohio. Love the Oregon coast. Be back later to catch up some more.

All, it has been taking so long to access this site that I have given up a few times. Maria - $180/night for the pitts? Should be something great for that. At least it is temporary. Are you having trouble with the Vioxx? My sister had terrible side effects and decided on just pain pills also.
Peggy - loved the idea of a Souper-Bowl party. We didn't even watch it this year. We usually go to friends for a party, but this year they were sick with the flu.
I feel pretty bummed out today. Just so very tired from work. We have a new president and he is making everyone jump through hoops, trying to get up to speed. My boss is frazzled and so are we.

G'day all,
Well I am just killing some time before I can move into our new apartment. It HAS to be an improvement on the one we were in:dizzy:
We are going to be in Wellington now for at least 2 weeks so staying where we were just wasn't an option. I said to dh that I felt I lived in a jail, the coffee was awful, so I was even just having bread and water:D
I went to the houses of parliament yesterday, the national library and an art gallery. All in all it was a good day.
Wellington is supposedly the windiest city on earth, this morning I believed it. Thank goodness the 'messy hair' look is in, I will be very much up to date here!
Glenda sorry you are having a hard time at work, there are always more targets to reach and redefining of work processes:(
My aim at the moment is to get hooked up with a local ISP so I don't have to go to internet cafes.
I haven't noticed any real side effects with Vioxx but I don't think it is helping either so I have decided to stop taking it. I am a bit annoyed because I got 3 packs before leaving Australia, so that is probably money down the drain:(
Peggy Hope you are getting better, I have missed your posts.
Hello to everyone else........

Hi all: Just a quick hello before I go to another activity. As Chair of our social club it keeps me busy. Last night we had an International Night. Everyone brought food from different countries. the committee served Greek Salad, French Bread, and English Trifle. Our contributions. We had food from Norway, Poland and other Slavic Countries, Germany, Oriental, Greek, Canadian, Sweeden, Ireland, Scotland Mexico, Hebrew. A lot of fun and more food that anyone could ever want. Bad for weigh-in tomorrow.
Then this p.m. we have aNewcomers Reception for all new home owners and people who rent for the winter. Just to get acquainted and help then know about all the activities availabale to them as residents. When that is over, I can breath for a while.:D:
Hi Peggy: Glad to hear from you, and sorry you have been unwell for so long . Some of this stuff does just seem to hang on and on.
Hi Karen: Also glad to hear from you after your trip. Hope you had a fun time, and I suppose you are now ready to go back to work.
Maria: So glad for you and DH that you could move out of 'jail' For the price, you certainly should have had better than that. Your exploring sounds very interesting.

G'day all,
We have moved and the new apartment is better and roomier but far from 5 star accommodation:(
I am not sure why there is such a shortage of comfortable apartments, I can understand if this was Sydney-New York or London but Wellington:?: :dizzy:
It is still blowing a gale. We set out today to see the 'te Papa' museum, it is a musuem that predominently deals with the history of the Moari (native New Zealanders) tribes. It was very interesting and we happily spent over 5 hours there!
http://www.tepapa.govt.nz/
On the way there we came across a sculptor display where you could also watch sculptors at work, again something we had never seen before and it was very interesting.
Spoke to our children yesterday and they are well and were pleased to hear from us.
Ann you do have a busy life, sounds like a lot of fun all the things that you do.
Karen look forward to seeing you post when you have more time! Nice to 'see' you.
I best be off, I am finding it very hard to adjust to the time difference, it is only 2 1/2 hours but for some reason my body is still on Adelaide time!

Hi Everybody
It is so sad about the shuttle disaster. What a terrible time this is for their families and friends. All of them such bright talented people.
Maria happy to hear you have a new apartment to stay in, even if it's not 100% it's better then the other one. Thanks for posting the addy on the museum. I just peeked in there and will go back later.
Peggy sorry to hear that flu is still hanging on. I remember how sick DH was with it. Hope you will soon be feeling better.
Karen how was Las Vegas? Did you come home with a few extra dollars in your purse?
Lily I bet you sure would like to see the glass collection by Ann Robinson at the museum that Maria sent us to. :)
Ann for years my friend and I would host an International dinner at the lake, and everybody would bring something from a different country. We always had way more stuff then we could possibly eat. It sure was fun. :chef: Our new friend Sally has not been back. I wonder if she has had trouble getting on.
I had a little baby shower for Trudy's little grandbaby last Tuesday at our Tea Time. Trudy's daughter is a sweet lovely girl and the little one is truly an  Her eyes are the most incredible blue I have ever seen. I'm not certain that I deserved it, but Trudy brought me the most gorgeous floral arrangement. I mean what could be more perfect for tea time then a floral arrangement put into a bright yellow teapot. The teapot is in the shape of a lemon. The florist arranged it so that the lid to the teapot which has a leaf on it is part of the arrangement too. The florist also tucked in package of lemon tea. :)
DH did not get the "gently used Toyota" with the HEATED SEATS. It's a good thing our weather has warmed up a bit. :)
Talk to you all later. Bye now.

Hi everyone: Had a hard time getting on today. Site kept coming up unavailable. What a shock about the shuttle. We have just taken it so much for granted. Never really think about the dangerous possiblities everytime it goes up and then lands. After listening to what the re-entry is really like from other Astronauts who have come home safely, it seems that each trip has had a bit of the miraculous about it. What a shock to all the families, waiting at the Cape to welcome them home. Hearts and prayers surely go out to all of them.
Maria: glad you found an apartment that seems to be roomier. Do you plan to keep it until you move on? All your exploring sound wonderful. I remember how hard it was for us to get used to the time change when we were traveling East to West in our Motor Home. You'll adjust before too long. And of course just have to do the reverse, when you go back home. Bet you miss the beach.
Slavika: What a thoughtful friend, Trudy. Your bouquet sounds wonderful and then you get to use the teapot. :D
Sally: hope we didn't discourage you.
Peggy: Hope you can soon shake the flu. It does tend to drag one down.
Glenda: Hope your new Pres. has mellowed a bit now. I remember when you started work for the new supervisor. So, this too shall pass.;)
Hi Trudy, Karen, Lily. I was a wimp and didn't go to weigh-in today. As a lifetimerI can go just once a month, so afater the big international night, I decided to wait until next week  :strong: I've got to exercise some will-power now.

G'day all,
DH has 'fixed' it so I have access to the net whenever I wish:)
We also woke up with the news of the space shuttle tragedy, such young talented people, so sad for their loved ones. I agree with Ann that each mission is really a bit of a miracle, amazing how quick it is taken for granted that astronauts just shoot off into space and come back safely again.
Your flower arrangement sounds just beautiful Slavika , what did you do to deserve this, c'mon don't be modest and tell us or Trudy you can fill us in:D
You and me both Ann excercising some will power! Good for you. I still have a lot of problems with my hips/back etc and I am sleeping poorly, the one thing I can do something about though is to get rid of some of this excess weight which in turn may help my overall health.
Whilst we were out today, we were very sensible and had a chicken sandwich for lunch. So often we stop for morning tea and then for lunch and before you know it the day's points are devoured in just morning tea and lunch:(
We went to the botanical gardens here today, some magnificent begonias on display. We also went to have a look at the historic railway station that is still in use and I asked what an interesting trip would be, so we did an hour trip through some very nice country side. At the destination we had some lunch and a bit of a look around before heading back to Wellington again.
We will stay in these apartments now till we leave next weekend. DH is hoping that we can drive to Hamilton where he will be working for most of the time. It is 400 km from here and because of the roads, a full day driving. It certainly would be an opportunity to see some of the country side.
There is a public holiday here next Thursday (some treaty with the Moaris was signed on this day) so hopefully Lucent will agree to us driving rather than flying. It would be a lot cheaper but that does not always persuade them:dizzy:
We are missing our home but no doubt we will soon adjust again.
Peggy I hope you can get to shake the remains of this flu soon! There is nothing worse than feeling not up to par.
Yes well where are you Sally??? We are really a nice bunch of gals ;) surely we did not scare you away. Hope you are OK and we will soon see you post again.
I must be off and download the many photos of the begonias I took today!
Now that I am back on line, see you all tomorrow again!
Cheers

Happy Sunday to you all.
Maria: Have any of your Dr.s suggested any floor exercises to strengthen your abdominal muscles, which in turn will help your back and hips? I have a set that I do. I had to have epidurals on my back twice, but after I kept on with the exercises and also having a massage once a month, things are a whole lot better. When I went to the Dr. he told me my problem was not the hips, but the back and pinched nerves which travel along the pelvis to make the pain in the hips. When it gets really bad, it can go down the sciatic nerve as well. I haven't had that problem, thank God.
I also sleep with a pillow between my knees, which helps to relieve the pressure. I still do have some nights when it is hard to find a comfortable spot, and then I take the Arthritis strength tylenol. As of course, wierd me, I cannot take any of the other stuff meant for Arthritis.
I think you are getting in some wonderful sight seeing. I enjoyed the tour of the museum. I enjoy botanical gardens, and we always try to visit them on our travels. I am more interested than my DH, but he goes along anyway.:cp: A drive through the countryside should prove to be very interesting. Is there any similarity to the Maoris and the Aborignal tribes in Australia?
Peggy: Hope you are feeling better now.
Lily: Just where is your work sending you? What is happening on the job front with your dh?
Slavika: How is the Princess rash doing? What did the dermatologist say?
Hi Trudy, Glenda, Karen. Ashe . Hope I haven't forgotten anyone.

G'day all,
Thank you Ann for sharing your thoughts and experience with your hips/back.
I have also thought it may well be my back, I had a back operation about 12 years ago (sciatica), I foolishly thought I would never have back problems again, how naive can one be!
I am reluctant to try any more doctors or chiropractors, I wonder now if all the chiropractic treatment I had in Sydney is part of my problem.
If things get much worse I will HAVE to seek help but I hope with common sense and excercise etc. I'll be ok. With this in mind dh and I had a long talk last night and we got up at 6.10 this morning and went for a very vigorous walk, so vigorous that dh told me that I should wear is heart monitor tomorrow!
I felt pretty bad when we got back (30 min up hill walk) but after recovery I felt OK and pleased that we are making a serious effort.
I told dh I want to go home in three months with people saying 'boy you 2 have lost a bit of weight in New Zealand':D
It is a beautiful day here today, dh came home for lunch, we had a salad sandwich, very yummy. I will go and get some fish for dinner a bit later.
Ann you also asked about the Maori people and the aboriginal people in Australia well I have to say it is really good to see how the Maori people are a very big part of society here, at least here in Wellington. They are quite different from the Australian Aborigines. They claim their ancestors came from Hawaii. Their features are more like Pacific Island people.
Many signs are in English as well as the Maori language. A number of Maoris hold public office in government and local government, all in all the Maori culture is a very big part of life here and are well respected. Unfortunately the same cannot be said about Australian Aboriginals. There is presently only one Aboriginal member of parliament. Only last week there was an interview with the first aboriginal person who is studying to be a surgeon. Aboriginal health problems are major, in the outback many aboriginal children spend their days sniffing petrol. They walk around like zombies with a can of petrol around their neck.
Of course I have only been here '5 minutes' and these are just my impressions.
Lily like Ann I have also wondered how your dh is going, I know how tough it is trying to get work when one is that little bit more mature ;)
I must be off again
See ya tomorrow

Maria you are off again. I don't think that your suitcase ever gets unpacked. Is your new place nicer? Slavika your flower arrangement sounds sooo pretty. How thoughtful of you Trudy. Quite the perfect thing for a tea. Did everyone have fun buying baby things? They certainly have cute things now. I came across a site that had the prettiest baby room I will see if I can find it. It looks like a room for a little princess. I joined a memory box artist program. We paint memory boxes for people who have lost a child to sids or were stillborn. They can put the few things they have in the box like the bracelet, pictures etc. I have my first 3 ready to send tomorrow. We send them to hospitals around the country. It is international. I know that there is a group in Australia. I am finally over the flu just have lingering cough. Walked this morning which was a first in weeks. My legs can feel it. Have been doing a lot of reading. Ann behave yourself this week so you can wi next week. Maybe Karen is dragging her winnings back from Vegas. Sure hope so. Have to go see what is going on out front. They have turned our water off for 5 hours while they are working on the road. It is a big muddy mess.

Hello, Hello, Hello,
I'm sure you all thought I was never going to get back her. Our Trip to Vegas was a blast. We won some and lost some but all in all I figure we broke even. It was fun spending time with DH's sisters. One had not seen me since I lost my weight. Was she surprised. She knew that I was employed by W.W. but not having seen me in ten years. She had no clue. It was fun. We did a lot of walking around the strip. Boy has that place changed in ten years. Last time I was there You coud see down the strip. Now It is just a jumble of buildings. Very colorful. Very noisey. but a lot to see and do.
When we got home our water pipes were frozen. As soon as they got thawed we found the sewer pipe was frozen. We found this out when we flushed the toilet. Sewer water evey where and S**T in my shower. Not pretty. I of course had to leave right away the next day to begin my round of Meetings and DH had to deal with the mess. By Wednesday all was working well again and by the time I was able to call home my DH had the dishwasher going the washing machine going and was cleaning the s**t out of the shower. He is a keeper
Last week was hectic. My trusty receptionist was on vacation too so I was stuck with others not so experienced. But we made it through with only a few problems. She will be back working tomorrow I hope. Wednesday for sure :cp: The snow fall may have slowed her down.
This is the week my DD and 4 of her friends leave to go to Cancun. They are all very excited. They have made friends with some of the locals and have kept in touch over the last year. One couple just had a new baby so they are taking baby presents with them. They are being picked up at the airport by another friend.
We are talking about trying one of those all inclusive vacation packages for our next vacation. Any body tried one of those??
Maria you are off and running again. I did take a turn arount the web site you posted. Thank you for sharing.
Lily I also took a look at the glass factory you posted and there were some beautiful thing there.
Peggy, Are you sure you just had the flu? I had that awful Pneumonia in December. And I was still caughing up until last week. Awful stuff.
Ann , The park where you live sounds wonderful. I hope we can find a place we can aford like that next year when we retire.
I've told my Manager that we are planning to go south for the winter the end 2004. She is in a panic. So far ther is no one to replace me. I do have some one who will take three of my meetings but still have 5 to cover. Am thinking about cutting back this fall we'll see how it goes. I do have a new lifetime member who is to begin working with us tomorrow. She also would like to go to Leader training we will send her in May . I think she can handle 2 more of my meeting. See I am plotting to retire.
Trudy How's it going with the new baby? Don't you just have a ball buying baby girl stuff. The little dress are so cute.
Slavika, Did you ever find out what made you little GD break out?
We'll I've bent your ears long enough so I'll go away now. Want to give my Aunt in Texas a call just so she know we are thinking about her.:)
Talk to you later.

:grouphug: Hi Everybody
I thought I would just stop by for a quick read before heading to the shower. Peggy what a lovely gesture that is to make these little memory boxes. It must be just the most heart wrenching time for these Mom's/Dad's to lose their little ones....I can't even imagine. I think to have the little memory box, it would be a loving tangible reminder, that for brief period of time the little one was here. Peggy, you are so sweet to use your talents for something as nice as this. Good for you. :)
My little Princess has her allergy tests today at 2:30, so hopefully they will find out what has caused this. The rash is pretty much gone, but you can still see very faint markings as to where it was. Trudy and I were at Costco yesterday and we bought a big container of the most wonderful strawberries. The package was too much for one of us so we divided it. I have my grandchildren after school on Mondays and the Princess just loves strawberries. I forgot that she was not allowed "red" food until after this test today. She was really upset that her brother was getting some as she wasn't so I promised her that if she was not allergic to strawberries I would buy her some on Thursday and she could eat them to her heart's content. Of course her brother ate his berries with a great deal of oohing and aahing and lip smacking. :D Kids....Yikes.
I'll be back later.

:grouphug: Hi Everybody
Well the Princess can have strawberries. She is not allergic to any food. The next testing will be to see if she has an allergic reaction to antibiotics. My son and dil suspected that was the culprit in the beginning.
I'm doing well at my WW weigh-ins. Two weeks ago I lost 3.6#. I think I probably was 100% on program that week. Last week, I lost 1.4#, and this week which I thought was not going so well I managed to lose 1.2#. :) Hopefully, I will get last years gained holiday weight off and Christmas weight in time for next year's holiday and next Christmas. This weight thing is a constant struggle, but the alternative is not too pleasant either. :?:
Had a nice Tea Time with the gals today....but then it's always nice. :goodvibes
Tomorrow, I have to go to the dentist and have one of my "screws" or snaps tightened. I truly do have a screw loose.
Karen oh what a mess you came home to. Your DH is a real keeper. :) Remember a few years ago, the winter of 1999, I think, my DH and I went with friends to the Dominion Republic. The place we stayed was one of those all inclusive ones. We went for 3 weeks and I think that is likely the least expensive holiday we ever had. You sort of pay your whole holiday before you even leave....so that's kind of nice. The place we stayed in was not that fancy, but it was clean, the food was great and the people were just wonderful. If you like just sort of relaxing by the pool or the ocean, and maybe taking a couple of short little tours then you would love that kind of holiday. I think going with another couple is a good idea, but each couple have separate accommodations. Most of those kind of resorts have great entertainment in the evenings.
Maria I'm having a hard time keeping track of you. Where are you today???
Good night to all of you.........

Karen: There are lots of parks similar to our here in this area. Of course I think ours is the best, but I am a bit prejudiced. When you start looking, let me know and I can send you some information. Do you want to be on one coast or the other? We are in Central Florida, and like it a lot. We don't have as much concern about hurricanes here. We would get the tali end not the full brunt of the storm like on the coast.
Slavika: Hope all turnes out well for the Princess, so she can get her strawberries. There is a new cherrios out that has dehydrated strawberries, raspberries and blueberries in it. It is really good, and good for you. Bet she would like those.
Peggy: The memory boxes sound like such a wonderful idea.
