I've been following a low carb, low calorie diet and feel fine. is there any reason not to donate blood? I donate regularly, but would hate to get light headed while driving back home. They usually provide juice and cookies which are off limits for me. Last time I gave my cholesterol was 257 and I'm hoping to see a big drop. I've only been dieting for 2 weeks.
Update: I donated, did not feel light headed at all. BONUS...found that my cholesterol dropped 50 points since my last donation. No real cream in my coffee anymore and no fried foods is working in more ways than one towards a healthy me.
I donated and I felt fine. I am also a regular donor, and just started low carbing recently, too. Just make sure you drink some water, and maybe be prepared by eating a good snack before hand (on your diet).
