Default Chocolate Drink

Hey Ladies and Gents...

I know that this has been answered before. but, I love the chocolate drink(powdered version) But I got a box of it and it states that it has 9 carbs with 2g of Fiber... but its still considered a Non Restrictive?!?!

Can someone claify why this one has so many carbs? and should I cut back on how many I get a week??

Thanks in advance!

Hi JellyMae, I won't have a restricted on the days that I have the chocolate drink.

Just my input.

It's a non restrictive, if you want to calculate the net carbs it would be 7 carbs. I had the chocolate drink for a week straight and a restrictive goodie everyday and still lost on that week

Yes, it is unrestricted. I have done weeks where if I have the chocolate drink I will not eat a restricted and weeks where I will have the chocolate drink and will eat a restricted. I did not notice any difference in weight loss. If you are concerned, the ready to drink chocolate drink only has 4 carbs and is just as delicious.

ShowgirlAZ / Carla had a really good explanation for it. Hopefully she will jump in here so she can share her knowledge.

Thats what I am hoping for... I know that I have read about this sometime in past threads, but I wasn't sure where and when you search Chocolate... It comes up with many things... This is one of the few that totally satisfy my sweet tooth cravings, so I ordered more this week!

Looks like your loss has been great, drink the chocolate. I drink it nearly every day for the past 6 months but my clinic doesn't sell restricted products so I don't have that option, but technically, I could have more than one chocolate drink a day.

Yes, it is still unrestricted. Aren't we lucky!

It is part of a reformulation and a labeling requirement change by the FDA. There is a thickener in the drink that has no impact on insulin but it does require a carb value/count for labeling purposes.

Not to worry.
