I want to lose 16 lbs in 7 weeks, which will put in One-derland by my birthday (Oct. 13), and put me 50 llbs down in just under a year. I did something like this at the end of last year, 13 in 7 and pretty much made it, so I'm going to try it again.

8/24 - 215
8/31 [hoping for 212]
9/7 [hoping for 210]
9/14 [hoping for 208]
9/21 [hoping for 205]
9/28 [hoping for 203]
10/5 [hoping for 201]
10/12 [hoping for 199]

Feel free to join in if you have a 7-week goal :dizzy:

What an awesome birthday present to yourself!!! I just started my weight loss journey 2 months ago so I'm still trying to find my rhythm...but what the heck...I'll join you. It might be too ambitious, but I'll go for 202 (-18). If I make it, that will put me at 30lb total!

Cheers to us!

Things are not looking good - I really shouldn't start out a challenge by going in the opposite direction! I believe some of it is water weight, but some of it is a real fat gain, because I ate a lot of terrible stuff over the weekend. (Cupcakes galore! They attacked me at every turn, and it was "eat or be eaten"!)

I'm not giving up, though it does make my goal less attainable.

Is this an additional 16lbs or are you having to lose it again? I hope not. Good luck and keep up the good work.

Good Morning 2sw33t! At least you know it was the cupcakes that did you in, so that's a good start! I went to the state fair this last weekend and was up on Monday...way UP, lol. I just went right back to my program Sunday night, no harm no foul! Get back on the proverbial horse :)!

**NOTE - I'm just tracking this here out of curiosity - I'm not normally a calorie-counter. I'm not really interested in feedback on it.

I'm going to start logging my food here - maybe using one post per week so I don't fill the thread with food posts.

8/31
- 3 cups coffee, 1 oz. cream per (300 Cal)
- ~10 red raspberries (10 Cal)
- 5 oz. can of tuna (225 Cal)
- 2 oz. cream cheese (200 Cal)
- 1 tomato, 1/3 green pepper, 1/3 cucumber, some onion (70 Cal)
- some vinegar (15 Cal)
- 1 T. olive oil (120 Cal)
- 4 eggs, fried in 1 T. butter (420 Cal)
- small banana (90 Cal)
- 1 Taco Bell crunchy beef taco (170 Cal)
- grande frozen SF hazelnut mocha (480 Cal - wow! didn't realize how many Calories that had!)
----Total: 1900 Cal

9/1
- 3 cups coffee, 1 oz. cream per (300 Cal)
- 3 tiny red potatoes (300 Cal)
- liver stew (300 Cal)
- 1/2 T. butter (50 Cal)
- some vinegar (15 Cal)
- a lot of "Spanish rice" with cottage cheese instead of rice (~850 Cal?)
- Heath Klondike bar (230 Cal)
----Total: 2045 Cal

I dropped back to my sw (214) for this challenge this morning - probably all the water I was drinking yesterday due to my cold.

Wow - over 40% (800) of your calories were drunk rather than eaten! I'd drop the cream in your coffee like a heart attack. If you can't drink it black, get your caffine fix from diet coke or something with ZERO calories. If you do this everyday you'll drop 2+ pounds a month without even trying! (300 cal x 30 days = 9,000 or 2.6 pounds!)

And were those whole eggs? Lots of extra fat & cholesterol there - better to do 2 whole and 2-3 whites instead- get the protien without the stuff you don't want. And for goodness sakes, use PAM instead of butter and save yourself 100 calories of PURE FAT.

I am not a fat hater but I really think you can make different choices that will lead to results on the scale and your body. I think you really need to examine your diet if you want to achieve your goal. The people here are ready and able to help!

Good luck and Happy Health!

@NTexas, sorry - not interested. I have designed my diet around my preferences, and I find a high fat diet very healthful for me -i.e., the fat is the stuff I want, not the protein per se. I try to avoid grains, high carb foods, and most vegetables oils (due to their unstable PUFA content), while eating whole, unprocessed foods - for the most part. It works for me, and I enjoy it.

I'm right back at the beginning, lol. Considering the last two weeks has been a big ol' weight roller coaster I guess it's not too bad. Time to really buckle down and do what I need to do!

Yup, just remember what your signature says - imagine what the scale could be saying...

Still, time to saddle up and get back on that horse headed to a slimmer waistline and a healthier you!

Huh. I'm up 3 lbs from yesterday, and I know I didn't eat an extra 3 lbs of food so... I suspect water retention as the main culprit (from weightlifting yesterday, probably). I'll wait until Friday to post my weight here, since I'll be weighing in on Friday for the BL Challenge.

PreciousMissy
09-21-2011, 11:58 AM
Ahhhh, weightlifting...that use to be my favorite subject in school :)! I haven't done it in years. I've thought about buying simple hand weights but considering my level of stick-to-it-ness I know better.

No weight loss for me since last Wednesday, but that's ok. I've been ravenous this last week (I'm suspecting the culprit is TOM) and went over my calories yesterday, but it was in turkey so I don't feel super bad about it, lol. I'll just keep plugging away!

Yeah, I don't think you can do much damage just with turkey!

Lambiechop - Cool! I'm probably not going to make my goal either (10+ lbs in 3 weeks), but you can join in recording your progress!

Hi Lambiechop!

As you can see I kinda piggybacked off 2sw33t's thread and was hoping to be down to 202...not going to happen, hahaha! But I am still happy with the progress that I have made.

Please do join in!

I'm back down to where I was, but that leaves me at 5 lbs above where I'd hoped to be. I still think there's some water retention involved, because my muscles are still sore.

9/7 - 212 [was hoping for 210]
9/14 - 210 [was hoping for 208]

9/28 - 210 [was hoping for 203]
10/5 [hoping for 201]
10/12 [hoping for 199]

I've been at the same weight for two weeks. I can come up with a million reasons for it, but, ultimately, if I was never eating off-plan (like, all weekend), I probably wouldn't have this problem. At this point, I've lost 5 lbs in 5 weeks - so it's not terrible, but I could be doing better.

2sw33t - You sound like you're down. Don't be so hard on yourself! Look at me, I've stayed the same for 3 weeks too. It is what it is and I for one am proud of both of us! We're not gaining, which let's admit is an accomplishment for 2 people who are overweight. Trust me, when I was gaining weight I only weighed myself once a month because I couldn't stand to see the scale go up. Now I weigh myself everyday. I consider the scale not going up a victory! It means that I have broken a lot of bad habits already.

Last night I had a thought, 2 months ago I would have been thrilled to see 218 on the scale. Yet, if I were to see 218 now I would be heartbroken. I won't be at 202 on 10/12, but if I keep doing what I'm doing, I won't be at 220 either.

Thanks - I'd definitely rather be where I am now than where I was two months ago, and I am glad that I'm not gaining. Guess it's just going to take a bit longer to get where we're going.

Don't feel down you guys! You may not be exactly where you wanted to be by the 13th but you're both making progress and even though you're not losing lbs you may be losing inches. I lost nothing last week but my pants are fitting a lot more loose nowadays. Stay with it, you'll make it!

My weigh in day is Sunday but right now the scale seems to be slooooowly moving in the right direction. Crossing my fingers for a loss this week.

09-28-2011, 01:11 PM
Good luck with the scale, Lambie! Honestly, clothes don't seem any looser the last couple of weeks, but I don't take measurements or have any clothes that are good for guaging this - most of the clothes I wear are loose anyway.

2sw33t, I hope you didn't lose your mojo, and if you did, I hope this is a temporary blip. We both want was is best for us, to eat healthier. If having a smokin' hot body goes along with it that is great! :D It's just going to take time for the smokin' hot part to catch up!

Hi PreciousMissy - you did great! :high: Hope your progress continues!

We ended at the same weight, even though you started 5 lbs higher :o However, as I'm now pg, I won't be looking to lose anymore for a while - just trying not to gain too much this time around.

I don't have any big plans for my b-day, just going to take the day off and relax a bit.
