Cute snowman sher!!!!!!!! To bad one of these days the little sucker will be a mud puddle! I hope your feeling better!!!! Could it be to much exercising affecting your hernia???? BTW: Check your email.

So, I know some clubs have things that you need to do to show that you are worthy of becoming a member....I have heard of riding a goat before, but never a donkey!!!! Dee, I laughed and laughed when I read your story!!!! I could just see you on top of your poor mother in-law!!!! Now she will live out the rest of her day's as the "gecko Mama" that peed her pants!

Maybe lisa & Jeanne need to ride "the donkey" to become official members????

I hope everyone has a great weekend lined out, looks like most of you are getting the winter weather. It's to be in the high 50's here on Saturday which is really warm for this time of year.

But I've already ridden a donkey..... Got any other ideas?? LOL

Well I didn't think I'd be able to post this weekend because of the GREAT TILING PROJECT, but here I am, 1:00 am on Saturday morning (really, Friday night) I wanted to paint the powder room (that's what I'm calling it now that it's painted) and Jimmy said "ah **** I don't care" so I bought a gallon of Parisian Violet DutchBoy paint. See what I can accomplish when he's got 3 Budwiser's in him??? LOL because he didn't want anything to do with painting. We just finished the painting, really it didn't take that long, Jimmy rolled and then I went behind him with a plastic bag (WalMart bags work best) and dabbed some of the paint off so it looks like it was rag rolled on. It's gorgeous!!! It's a deep Mauvie-Rose color. The light grey tiles will look wonderful. Thats my next step tomorrow. Laying the tile. Then Sunday, I'll grout and watch the Super Bowl. GO RAIDERS. Once that is all done, Jimmy and his friend will be able to put in the fixtures and I'll have me a real honest to goodness powder room.

It was awful cold here again today. Currently it's 8'. I don't know what that makes it with the wind chill, but it is snowing and actually that's a good thing. We need the snow as insulation, there's been a lot of broken water pipes and water mains and all that good stuff around here. Thank goodness we have a finished basement so we don't have to worry about that stuff.

Hope everyone's weekend is going well I'll try to check back in tomorrow night.

Lisa,
Your powder room must be quite lovely. I'm sure the color is beautiful, and you will enjoy having a space all your own. We have three bathrooms and I use one just for my personal things. I have really enjoyed having it, but things may soon change. There could be a move in my near future, and it will be a drastic one. More later......

Ramona - you sure have a knack for keeping us all in suspense! :?: I hope that even though it's going to be a "drastic" move, it's for good reasons.

Wow, it sounds like you guys are all freezing out there. I feel a little guilty here in southern California. I think we are expecting temps. in the 70's today...

So what's this about riding a donkey??? I guess I must have missed something but I'll be more than happy to prove my worthiness as a Floozy.

Dee--loved your story about the gecko. My son would have gone nuts...he loves reptiles. We used to have two lizards as pets (Izzy and Dizzy).

Lisa, your powder room sounds like it is going to be gorgeous. Congrats on keeping the dh on track! I'm glad to see there is another Raiders' fan here, woo hoo, it should be a good game.

Have a great weekend everyone.:flow1:

Hi fellow Floozies!!! :smug:

Lisa: the powder room sound's soooooo pretty! Sounds like we must be married to the same guy..... put a beer in front of him and you can lead him anywhere!

Jeanne: In Dee's Gecko Mama story she wrote that she rode a donkey in a bar. Just thought I would tease her a bit. We like you and Lisa, so we will just let you join without having to show your worthiness with a donkey ride. ;)

Ramona: PLEASE let us know!!!! You are such a pistol, keeping us in suspense!!! I hope it will be a good move on your part. :dizzy:

Busy today, cleaning house, laundry and shopping!!!!! :^:

Brrr it is so cold here. We can't even go out without getting frost bite. Today my Mom took me out to the casino for my birthday. Every year she gives us kids $100 to put through in the slots and what ever comes out we cannot put back in. That is to be used to buy what every we want for our birthday gift. Out of the $100 I got back $51.00. Not a very good return, but we sure did have fun. Mom put her $100 in and she got $49.00 back. I think that is the worst return we have ever had. After that Larry,Mom and Dad and I went out for dinner. We ended up having a wonderful day. After we got home Larry watched the super bowl and I pondered over the newsletters and magazines I picked up in puerta vallarta. Gee I wish I was back there. Larry's step mom Viv(Gecko Mama)will be going back feb 4 for 2 more weeks. Well that's ok I guess, because I am working on Larry for a month for next year. I guess I better practice being a really good girl...wink wink nudge nudge. Gee it sure is hard to type with my peke on my lap. He is such a brat, he got his haircut yesterday and won't get off our laps. He is shivering when it is convenient. That is when we are looking at him, when we look away he stops shivering. What a brat. Well I think that I will round up that donkey so I can ride him back in the bar..........

Dee: My Father in-law has a dog that will whine in misery for at least two days after a nail trim!!!!! Have you tried getting your little one a sweater???? I'm sure he is just fine, but with a swaeter maybe he will think you guys are humoring him. You gift from your mother sounds like a really neat tradition!!! How's your mom doing?

We had my Mother in-laws birthday party today. I ate CAKE & ICE CREAM!!! Oh yaa....... 2 sloppy joes, green beans with bacon seasoning, potato chips........tonight......LONG JOHN SILVERS!!!! As I lick the grease from my lips........... Not a good day for healthy eating!!!!!

Good morning Floozies! I hope you all had a great weekend. It is still so cold here, I just can't seem to get warm. I had a very lazy weekend. I had plenty to do, I just didn't want to do it!;)

OK, here is the deal. As most of you know, I am a small business owner. And, like most small business owners, I owe the bank a LOT of money. That is just the way it is these days. Well, my husband and I are so weary from going to bed and getting up every morning with this enourmous debt hanging over our heads. So, we have been tossing around the idea of selling our house to pay off the bank. We own our house outright, so we could be 100% debt free. We would then move into my family's lake house which is about 15 minutes from town. Now, here is the kicker to all of this. I would be leaving a 3 bedroom, 3 bath, formal living room, family room, dining room for a 3 room cabin. I really don't have a big problem with it since it is just the 2 of us. However, I would have to sell most of my furniture and put a lot of things into storage. The cabin is already completely furnished. It has 2 bedrooms and a one room that is the kitchen, dining, and living all in one. There is a huge glassed in porch that goes around two sides and looks out onto the lake which I know I would enjoy. It would just be such a huge change. It is also quite isolated, which worries me a bit. So, if you were in my shoes, what would you do? I would miss my house, but we don't do any entertaining anyway, and it would sure be nice to say so long to my banker. Any input on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Love,
Ramona

Ramona: I say GO FOR IT!!!!!! Just think, you could be completely dept free!!!!! The cabin sounds charming, you will still not be that far away from work, plus it might be just what you and your hubby needs to reduce some of the stress in your life. Your home now sounds so pretty, but as you said, you really do not utilize all of the space. I wish you the very best with your decision!!!!!

Gayle in these wicked temps Amigo needs a sweater. Even with the coat of fur he had before we shaved him. He has a cute lumberjack sweater. He is just a suck that's all.

Ramona that is a pretty big decision to make. If you do decide to move out to the lake and don't like it you could always move back into town. It would be nice being debt free, alot less stress. The point you pose about being isolated are you concerned about it because you might be lonely or is it because if it is storm or an emergency arises? I think if it was me I would move out to the lake and enjoy the tranquility of the water and the quiet of being out of town. I would go for it and if you don't like it go back and get a loan and buy another house for less. Even if you stay out at the lake for a few years you should be able to get back on your feet then and see what you want to do from there.

It is still really cold here. I sure hope it warms up soon. We had snow over night and I tried to con Larry into to staying home and being my royal shoveler as I walked he could shovel the snow out of the way so I wouldn't have to trudge through all the snow. lol

Hope you all have a warm happy day.

Ramona- I agree with the others. Go for it!! Sounds like it would be a very tranquil place to live. It might be awhile before you are able to sell your house, anyway. So you could slowly start downsizing all your stuff.

Oh ladies, I have had a huge burden lifted from my shoulders! I have been worrying myself sick over what the insurance company was going to do with ds totaled vehicle. Everyone said we would end up having to pay around 6000 dollars to pay it off. Well, the adjuster just called and they are going to pay it all!!!!! We are even getting back about $300 because we didn't get a rental vehicle! Oh!!!! I am just giddy. I feel like dancing and I don't even know how to dance!!!!! LOLOL

OK, I'll shut up know. I just wanted to share some good news for a change!

I don't know if anyone remembers me or not. It's been a long while since I've been here. I'm one of few Titan Fans in Central Illinois,

The good news is that hopefully I won't be here much longer. On December 31, I finally retired from state government, but I'm really not that old. To help solve the latest state budget crisis, we were offered an early retirement program, that anyone with more than 25 years could not pass up. The only down-side (other than waiting for first retirement check and with over 11,000 leaving state government, that could be a couple of months), is without the stress of the job, food tastes so much better than I have found myself eating more. So I'm going back on WW.

I also have to find a different exercise method. We had an inside "track" to walk. I tried one of the local fitness places, but that wasn't for me. It's a controlled program, and you go from one machine to the other, and it seemed all I was doing was getting off and on. This month, I've gotten some exercise with "fun" stuff like bringing in firewood (do love that fireplace) and shoveling snow. Actually, I think Nashville has gotten more than we have though. I'm also starting to use the air walker again.

Hopefully, it won't be that long before I can start walking outside.

My real goal for this year is to move to Nashville!

I recognized a few of the names, but some of you are new; and I'm looking forward to getting better acquainted.

Titan Fan "Dee" (though I switch to Card Fan in about a month).

PS to Sherry: Has Jeff Fisher shaved his beard yet?

Sherry I hope that you are feeling better soon. I do miss you. Even if you are feeling down we want to hear from you. We are here to help you through everything. If your up to it post. You are our greatest supposrter. Hang in there.

Ramona I am so glad that you didn't have to foot the bill for the truck. That must be a big relief. Don't worry about not always having to share good news with us. We are always here for you besides if you had good news all the time we would be oh so jealous....lol.

Titan Fan Dee it is nice to have you back. I am the other Dee here but I will gladly make room for you.

I forgot to mention how mom is doing. She seems to be stable these last few weeks. No new problems arising. She still has a slight infection in her arm and they are watching her blood very closely and monitoring her pills for her blood clots. She started to lose her hair at christmas from the treatments but hasn't admitted it yet. She is very fortunate that she has very thick hair. She had her treatment today and will have 2 weeks off now.

Well it is off to get groceries. I haven't done any shopping since we got back from our trip!

Sher: PLEASE, PLEASE take care of yourself!!!! Why don't you just go ahead and make a doctors appointment to get checked out????? I miss you on the thread, it's just not the same.

Well, I have a sick little four year old here at home. We sat up all night last night with her getting sick to her stomach about every 15-20 minutes. She did okay later this afternoon, not vomiting, but will not eat. I guess I will just keep the fluids in her and give her tummy a day or two to settle down.

I hope everyone is doing okay!!!!!

I guess it is going around. I was home today with my 6 year old daughter, fever and cough. I hope everyone feels better soon. I went to a kid's party yesterday and saw a friend of mine who just started a low carb diet through a doctor and nutritionist. This may be what I need to get me motivated. Anybody try this? I guess you go through a blood work up and see where you are at as far as cholesterol, etc. is concerned.

Sherry, if you are reading this, GO TO THE DOCTOR!!!!!!
Kidney infections are nothing to play around with. Do you take previcid or prilosec for you hernia? If not, you might ask your Dr. about it. Are you worried about Wayne's taking the new job? I know everything will work out OK. But, first and foremost, GO TO THE DOCTOR!!!! Let us know how you are doing when you get a chance.

Debbie, are you OK?

Ramona I hope that having a few friends opinions has helped you out abit with the big decision you have to make.

Debbie how are you doing? Haven't heard from you for abit. Is it still cold there?

Doni, I'm sorry you have been feeling bad. Maybe Spring will be here soon and we'll all feel better.

Jeanne, I am low carbing now. I don't take it to an extreme. I eat lots of fruits and veggies. I really limit my bread and starchy vegetables and NO sugar. I do take Sunday off and eat anything I want. It is working out really well for me. Just like with any program, there are pros and cons and you have to do what works for your body. Good Luck!

Dee, have you heard any results from your Dr. visit? Don't get stuck in a snow bank when you are out for your walk. LOL

Hi everyone.

I actually got up and did some housework this morning. It's really great having more time to even do the awful stuff. Does that count as exercise?

Wow, our temp is "above freezing" but barely for the first time in several weeks. Nashville is in the 40's today. Is winter over??

On the low carb diet, it has worked for me in the past as a "jump starter" but it sure doesn't take long for it to be a total bore. The other thing is you can not cheat or you're right back where you started.

I'm looking into a modified version of Weight Watchers. I just found out about it yesterday in the 2/11 Woman's World magazine. I don't know if that issue is in the stores yet, as I get it through subscription. Instead of using point ranges, you can pretty exact; however, you have a 7-day plan of different ranges including one that is really really high. To get my high day on Saturday when I usually go to an auction house, I will need to start on Wednesday.

If you're asking what the auction house has to do with points, they have a food stand there; and "Aunt Bev" has some of the best hamburgers in Springfield. And we actually have some good ones.

I hope everyone is doing well. As I get to know you better, I will be talking to you personally, but now I'm still confused.

Take care, stay warm, and I'll be "chatting" with you soon. I may have to do major surgery on my hard drive, but I am hoping to postpone that for awhile yet.

Doni: Hope your up and feeling better soon!

Ramona: I had second thoughts on my advice to you...you can not sell your house and become dept free...it is not the AMERICAN way!!!!!

I try to low carb but not at all to the extreme. In fact I try to balance my carbs and proteins per meal with most of the meal made up of fruits & vegs. I think my next life, I'm coming back as a rabbit. :smug:

How about we all gather today on Sherry's behalf and give her a big hug! HUG HUG HUG TO YOU SHERRY!!!!

This afternoon a good friend of the family is having a cyst removed from her brain. She just found out about it last friday. She has had severe headaches and the dr didn't know any different. Well around christmas she started having a few mini strokes at least that is what emerg said. Then last friday she had another one when mom and dad were visiting her. She went to emerg and had a kat scan. They found a tumor the size of a golf ball. They said that they didn't think that they would be able to get it all. I just hope she pulls through without to many problems. This is my mom's best friend. She is taking it pretty hard.

Well time for lunch and got to get ready for my weekly tea time party. I don't know if I mention this yet but we are celebrating my b-day and another gals b-day today plus we are having a mini shower for one of the other lady's brand new first born grandbaby. It should be fun. Lots of celebrating to do so I better run.
