Hey gang ~ How is everyone doing on this COLD Friday morning? I am getting ready for work and thought I'd stop in for a moment. I am starting this new thread because I tend to get lost when they get too long. That's me.....lost.

I will write more tonight. Have a wonderful Friday and a blessed day.

Terri,
enjoy that winter wonderland! We're dry as a bone here, not a flake in sight nor on the ground. That's fine with me :D love the cold, like Es, but not the snow.

I love LeeAnn's idea of earning Activity Points for shivering! My furnace has been running constantly, seems like it never takes a break, and I've got it set at only 70.

Jess called and said they had Matthew in the ER at 3 in the morning, he had a fever of 104.5 with vomiting...turns out to be a severe ear infection, causing loss of equilibrium, a type of motion-sickness, resulting in the vomiting. The poor little guy had tubes in his ears when he was 9 months old, but one had fallen out, and of course that's the ear infected. He'll be ok but I can tell she was scared. We never stop worrying... first our kids, now theirs.

We were just invited to a fish fry this evening :( how on earth will I eat fried food? We don't normally, much less when I'm OP. It's at a tavern type place, we were there once years ago for drinks; I don't know how extensive their menu is...hopefully a decent salad will be available! And it's with my SIL, I haven't told her yet that I'm back OP. She's the one who lost 80 pounds on Xenical a couple of years ago, and has now gained it all back. Wish me luck!!!

Hope everyone is having a good Friday. I'm so glad that it's the weekend!

Well, yesterday I walked 3 miles on the treadmill and burned 375 calories. The water is finally beginning to feel like a habit, but will the exercise ever feel that way. I dread it so much. Once I've finished my walking, I'm so up and feel great about it, but it's just getting started that bothers me.

JEN, isn't it great how we motivate each other without even trying. I come here, see what everyone else is doing and then begin to feel quilty. :sorry:

ES, soup sounds good. I know that you guys are colder in New York than we are, but 20 degrees is very cold for us. But never fear, next week it will get in the 70's. I hate Louisiana weather.

LEEANN, I forgot to congratulations on the house. Sounds like you're one busy lady.

Hello ZOE, TERRI, DIANNE, and anyone else that I missed. I need open the books!

Ruth,
great job on the walking! :cp:

Last night turned out perfectly for me, points-wise. Had a big salad w/turkey and asst'd veggies, dressing on the side for dipping. Used lots of my points in Amstels :nono: but did not go over, in fact I banked 4 points! We haven't been out like that in ages, it was with my bro and SIL, and Joey joined us. So that was a big hurdle out of the way and I'm feeling more positive about being out in eating/drinking situations.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Good Saturday morning everyone....(I think it's still morning, right?? Oh no, it's noon.....:D...)

I just got in from WW and going to the new house. My good friend Tracy (we go to WW together on Saturday mornings) wanted to see it. She just couldn't wait....so we rode over there. I wasn't really having second thoughts but now that the mortgage stuff is done and we're ready to do, I thought maybe I should look around some more.....but after going with Tracy today, I really love the house.....so I'm sticking with it.

As for WI, it was GREAT!! Anyone remember my goal of being 158 by vacation?? Well, vacation is 2 weeks from today and today I lost 3.4 lbs for a total of 38.8 ~ I am only 2.4 lbs from my vacation goal and I really think I can do that in 2 weeks. Oh, and I'm only about 12 lbs from goal. Of course, vacation may throw me off somewhat but you know, I really think that I eat differently now so even if I gain 'some', it won't be as bad as if it were a year ago.

Hi to everyone. I have a MILLION things to do so I'll say adios and talk to you's guys later.

Hi Girls:wave:

I haven't had a chance to post in a few days. Yesterday I was out all day. I went to the mall to buy David an electric blanket & jeans for me. Dave lives in a studio apt. that was a garage & it's very cold in the winter. You know how we are about our children no matter how old they are. So I brought over the blanket & & winded up going out to dinner with my nephew, his wife & little boy(adorable) & David. Pete payed for the bill. Thank God it was a Chinese Buffet. I made good choices but blew it with dessert. I had a 1/2 cup of ice cream. I'll just have to start fresh today. I only lost 1/2 lb. this week.

Zoe, I'm at a loss of words Girl. You are doing so well with this program. How many pts a day are you eating? Any little tip will be helpful. I'm starting to lose very slowly but then again I always use up all my points.

For all you football fans I bet your psyched that it's Super Bowl Sunday. I crack up every year around this time because the supermarkets get crowded as if it was a holiday! I have to go food shopping today & believe me I'm dreading it.

Well Ladies, I shall return this evening.

Hugs,
Es

Es,
WEIGH TO GO!!! A loss is a loss....that's 2 sticks of butter!!! I hope I do as well at weigh in tomorrow..I have to confess I snuck a peek at the scale today and it showed a 1/2 lb. gain :?: I'll have to face the music tomorrow, can only attribute it to the beer the other night :(

HI  Terri, Dianne, Zoe, Sandy, Janie, Ruth, LeeAnn, Cindy.

Super Bowl tonight....go BUCS!

Hi everyone

Wow it was quiet in here over the weekend!

This morning was weigh-in....lost 1 pound. I am not going to peek at the scale any more before Mondays, it only freaks me out.

That makes a total of 9 lbs. so far. :D

have a great Monday

Hello,
Was wandering around and saw this thread. :dancer: I am just starting good with the Weight Watchers and need advice. :)Because of financial situations I am doing this on my own without going to meetings. I have a food companion book on the way to me and have also a friend that I email my food journal to and she converts what I've had into the points. So far, this seems to be working for me. I would much rather figure out how much points I have to work with than watching carb counts or calories. Sounds lazy but I just think this clicks better with me and my life right now. I may be 43 but I have a young 8 year old daughter who is in second grade. I have been married for 17 years and I am a stay at home mom to our one and only daughter. ;) :p OH! My name is Donna! Do you think I could fit into this group? :?:  I sure would appreciate it! :)

Congratulations to all of the loosers!!!!

And congratulations to those of you who supported Tampa in the SUperbowl . I think it is horrible what happened in Oakland after the game. It's only a gameafter all. Get a life. I was rooting for the Raiders but the turnout either way doesn't effect my life one way or the other. I am ashamed to be a raiders supporter. IF this is how these people act about a game I am glad that Tampa won. OK I'll get off my soap box now.

I must admit I went to a small superbowl party yesterday and I did not watch my points at all. I am going to have to be really vigilant from now until Thur to make up for it.

HAppy Monday,
Janie

Janie,
I totally agree w/you concerning the "fans' " reaction to the loss in Oakland...it is only a game! Sadly, it seems to be happening in many cities after championship games, whether it's football, basketball, baseball, etc. Too bad all that mis-directed energy couldn't be used for some good. Good luck this week with staying low in points.

Donna,
Welcome :D this is a great group, you'll like it.

Welcome Donna! I think you're going to like it here. I've known these fabulous girls for three years & I've grown to love them all. Is this your first time on WW? I know what you mean about counting calories, etc. This is so simple. Just the way I like it.

WTG Jen!!! :cp: :dancer: :jig: WoooHoooo 9 lbs.!:D I posted yesterday but I lost it. It made me so mad I didn't feel like posting all over again. Thanks for cheering me on for my little .5 loss. I guess it's better than a gain, right?

I was up 3 lbs. this morning!!!!:yikes: That darn chinese food. I had it twice this weekend. I took a all natural water pill. Lets see what happens by tomorrow. I know I should weigh myself once a week but I felt heavy so I was curious. WHY DID I DO THAT! I was upset over the stinkin 3 lbs. all day. I just finished 30 minutes on the treadmill. Tomorrow I'll do my Firm tape. Love that workout.

Well buddies, let me go over to WW. I haven't logged in all day.

Have a great evening.

Hi everybody ~

Ah, another Monday over. I hate Mondays.

Es ~ Don't fret over that gain. Chinese food is filled with sodium so I'll bet it's all water. It will go away.....the best thing to do is to really concentrate on "no salt" for most of the week. You know, I don't have ANY salt, no popcorn, no WOW chips, nuttin, the day before WI. That salt is a killer. So don't worry sweetie pie, you'll be down in numbers next WI.

Hi Donna, welcome to our group. You'll love it here. WTG on doing WW on your own. If you have support and some help, you'll make it. I have been doing WW off and on for years but this time, I think I finally have won. Any help you want, just ask. That's why we're all here and all such good friends. :D

Jen ~ Weigh-to-go on that pound. Woo Hoo, 9 lbs gone. You're on a roll girl.....keep up the good work. You're doing great!

I have to share this wonderful dessert that I can't seem to stop eating. I found Dryers (or Bryers, depending on which part of the world you live in) ice cream that is sugar free. NOT FAT FREE, just sugar free. The vanilla tastes just like real vanilla ice cream. I measure 1/2 cup for 1 pt and toast 2 eggo Special K fat free waffles....let them cool some and make an ice cream sandwich. It's the BEST 3 pts I could have. You can make it a 2-pt snack with only 1 waffle, cut in half, for a half sandwich and eat the ice cream that won't fit with a spoon. YUM YUM YUM!!

Hi to the rest of you "LOSERS". Hope you's are having a great evening.

Thank you so much Zoe, Es, and Jen for the warm welcome! I received my food companion in the mail today! I only had 22 pts today. I've done this for two weeks and lost a pound and a half. The first week I did it I had the dreaded birthday cake! LOL It was my dd 8th birthday and we were celebrating all that week! :hb:

I look forward in learning more about you all and where you all are in your journey down this WW path! :dizzy: ;)

BTW.... water weight is my enemy  culprit too!

Have a good evening to all US LOSERS!

Jen,
Congrats on a great loss. 9 pounds is WONDERFUL!!!! Never peak at your scale. :nono: That could have triggered you to eat. You did great.
I am so gald Matthew was ok. Scary stuff. Poor little guy. Poor mom and grandma.
Great food choices. Don't you feel great when you walk out knowing you did well.

Zoe,
Congrats on your loss. That is wonderful. Hope you have a great time on vacation. Great snack tip. MMMMmm!!!

Es,
1/2 pound is great. Be proud.
Chinese food will put on temporary water weight. Don't weigh but once a week. It really will be better. Great job on doing exercise after seeing that. A Lot of people would eat.

Ruth,
Congrats on the miles you walked. That is awesome.

Janie,
I didn't here what happened in Oakland. Riots?
The ones I don't get even more are the ones who riot when they win. :dizzy:

Hi Donna.
Welcome. Good luck. I am Terri and I am 43 and have 3 kids, 16,11 and 9. I am a stay at home also. I have been happily married for 20 yrs. :hb: to your little girl.

My kids and I watched the Superbowl and had some snacks. We had shrimp cocktail. Kids love it. I didn't eat as much as I thought I would. No scale until Sat. for me. I know there is water in there that needs to go away. I could feel it in my fingers.
I wante Tampa but I don't like Warren Sapp. I do like that John Trent. He used to be a Steeler. :( He is so cute.
Bruce is going to D.C. for a few days so I will be fixing a lot of ff hot dogs and Lean Cuisines for the kids and I. They love Lean Cuisines. No big meals the rest of the week. YAY!!!!

TTYL,
Terri

Zoe,
I didn't even say congrats on yet another great loss! :o It really is incredible how well you're doing. Great job :D :D :D That ice cream sounds good. I don't buy/eat any fat free dairy stuff, it tastes gross; usually go for the low fat versions. I'd rather use some points and get some taste

Terri,
Thanks for the good words, it means a lot coming from you. You know how I've agonized over this, have been here 3 years w/no losses to speak of :( This time it feels different.
Enjoy your time w/the kids. I love Lean Cuisines, usually have those for lunch.

Es,
You know it's the Chinese food, and it'll be gone. Especially since you're exercising so often. What day do you weigh? Let's promise each other we'll only get on the scale ONCE a week, ok?

Donna,
I'm 49, from the Chicago area, married 31 yrs., have a daughter who's 28 w/2boys,7 and 2...and a son who's 24. I lost 32 lbs. in 1999, put most of that back on...and am now doing WW Online since Dec. 30. I took a good long look at myself and admitted that if I don't do it now, I never will.

Please be patient with me till I learn about each of you and what's going on in your lives. :)

Terri, I have a sister named Terri also. She has 4 kids. The oldest is 17 and the youngest is 4! Thank you for the birthday wish to my daughter! ;)

Jen, so you are a grandma?! That's great! You know it's all mind set thing isn't it? ONce it's clear that something has to be done and now nothing can stand in our way! (except ourselves alot of the time) Anyway, thanks for introducing yourself to me!

Zoe, that dessert did sound yummy but I don't like those fat free stuff either. I would rather work it on during the day for the points and have some taste! :T It does sound good though! :chef: I saw a interesting recipe on the WW site last night for a snack I may print out and try. It was low in points and I need something good to snack on at night. I have done OK lately but felt some problems while watching the food network last night. Yes, I am a food network oholic! :o

I worked out this morning in a aerobic class using the balls. I love those things. I get so much out of those things. It's amazing how that concept has come about and it's so much less strain on my back. :strong:

Zoe, when are you going on vacation? Where are you going? Hope you have a great time!

I gotta go now. I need to get out of my workout clothes starting to get cold!

Thanks to you all for your patience till I get you guys straight!

Hi:wave:

Donna, I'm 48 yrs old. I'll be 49 in April. I have a 31 yr. old son, a great husband, a chihuahua & a cat. I've been on WW since the 80's but never made it to lifetime. I want to lose around 25 lbs. I like to exercise & so does my husband. He likes it more than I do. If it wasn't for the exercise I would be much heavier. My brother is a personal trainer. He is very busy so we don't get to workout together. Exercise is the key. Nice to have you in our group.;)

Jen, I useto buy FF but not anymore. You're right about no taste. Now I buy low fat, reduced fat or light. Breyers light vanilla ice cream is soooo good.

Zoe, when I was a kid my sister would always take me shopping with her. She would treat me to lunch & always took me to Woolworth's. They had balloons that you would pop & whatever price it had inside you would pay. I always wanted the waffles with ice cream. I remember they were real thick. :T Ahhh, the good old days. No wonder why I was so chubby. :ink:

Terri, whenever Lean Cuisines go on sale I stock up. They are my favorite. Very tasty.

Has anyone tried the Pria Bars? They are so good. It will satisfy a sweet tooth. 2 pts.

Well, my friends, have to get my clothes ready for work tomorrow.

Have a goodnight.

Good question.. what is a Pria Bar? Also, I need to ask you guys something if you know.

I was wondering how many points is it for a subway sandwich? For instance a 6" turkey with no cheese or mayo?

I have a taste for one and thought if it helped Jarred maybe it will help me?!

Thanks! Hope you all are having a great losing day! ;)

Donna

P.S. Es thanks for the intro and welcome! I did do a Pilates class this morning. I will do a cardio class tomorrow. Do you get a plus in points on the days you exercise?

EsRios426
01-29-2003, 12:35 PM
Hi:wave:

A Pria Bar is made by the Power Bar. It's high in calcium, 110 calories, soy protein & 23 vitamins & minerals. It's an energy bar but it's delicious. Today I'm having Choc. Peanut Butter Crunch for my afternoon snack. I love them.

Donna, you should be counting activity points. They don't want you to use more than 4 a day. I'm sure you're burning way more than 4 in those classes. WTG! ;)

Be back later. Lunch hour is over.

Love,
Es

Hi everyone,

I had lunch today with my niece, JoAnn, at Olive Garden. She is the cancer patient, is 37, with daughters who are 7 and 10.
What an eye-opener! I remember changing her diapers when I used to babysit her...today she was making jokes about her "3rd nipple" (her words), which is the flap of skin covering the port on her chest which they use to administer chemo, etc. Her strength, optimism, and cheerfulness reminded me that it's so important to be happy with our healthy bodies, regardless of how they look.
Points-wise, I did so-so..definitely have to watch it for the remainder of the week!
She insisted that we have lunch together tomorrow, along with one of her sisters who is a police officer in a neighboring suburb. Talk about feast or famine! I sit home every day w/Lean Cuisine, now 2 challenging days in a row. But that's ok...I'll NEVER say "no" to her!

Es, I saw Pria bars in the store, didn't know they were only 2 points. I've got coupons for them, am going to get some this week. Thanks!

Hope everyone's well....stop in and say HI!

luv,
~Jen

Hello my buds! Wow, I am soooooooooo behind in the postings, holy moly!

First let me welcome Donna to this group of amazing women (so not humble, huh? LOL). We are all buddies here Donna and help each other with lots of good support. Welcome and good luck!

Es - congrats on that 1/2 lb amiga..... every ounce counts, remember? OMG, I remember those balloons at woolworths too! My nana would take me there for banana splits and I enjoyed popping the balloon to find out how much I had to pay, more than the banana split  Well...........maybe NOT:s:

Jen -congrats on the 9 lbs - WOW, I think you've heard that "click" everyone talks about. Great job! Glad to hear Matthew's okay, so scary right?

ZoeGirl - You are doing fantastic girl - congrats on being so close to goal. And congrats on the new house. You must be getting so excited about the cruise!

Hi Terri, Janie, Ruth, Sandy, LeeAnn and Cindy - how are you all doing?

Well, last Thursday was the first ww meeting at work. It was cool. The leader seems okay, funny woman, but talks about men and flirting alot, I decided to "start over" at that meeting even though I had already been on program. So, tomorrow's the second meeting and I'll see if I lost anything. Haven't done great this week, but not too bad either. Wish I would have done more exercise, though. Oh, well, we'll see. I'm just glad to be back on program.

Well, gotta get to bed - hope you all have a great thursday. Will talk to you soon!

Hugs,
Dianne

P.S. This is a picture of my "flirty" ww leader, lol!

Hi Girls:wave:

I had to take a sick day. I have a stomach virus. I'll go in tomorrow to make up for today, IF I feel better.

Amiga, where have you been? You have to stop this once a month postings:lol: I miss you. I would love to have WW At Work. It would be so convenient. I hope your group won't fade out. Usually everyone is all gung ho in the beginning then slowly but surely they start leaving. I could never do that at my job.

Jen, what happened to Matthew? I must have missed that post.
Ever since Pete was diagnosed as a diabetic we atopped going to the Olive Garden. There's one right by David's house. There's always a line out the door. Your niece is really special. God bLess her. Enjoy your lunch today.

If any of you buy the Pria Bars try the Double Choc. Cookie & Strawberry Shortcake. I'm hooked on these bars. It's a real treat!

Donna, did you have the subway sandwich yet? Have you heard of Dotties WeightLoss Zone website? They have points for everything there. If you still need to know how many pts. let me know. I'll look it up for you. ;)

Hello DecemberDianne! Nice to meet you! That's great that you can do the WW meetings at work. I had to really laugh at the image you attached for your leader in the meetings!  I sure hope it all works out and that people don't drizzle out so that you can continue to have that convenience!

Es, no I have not heard of dotties weight loss zone. What is the web site address? No, haven't had the sandwich because not knowing how many points I'm dealing with didn't want to take the chance! I finished yesterday's point total under the amount I can have again. Not a good thing, I know. I didn't get to go work out today because of a bill I found hidding under my other stuff and had to ride out to find the place to pay it so they wouldn't cut our water off. Turned out that they just added it onto our next bill. It was under 25.00 but it clearly says on the bill that it's subject to disconnect after 11 days past the due date and it was a lot more than that. I came home and had my breakfast of oatmel w/apples and spice and coffee = 3 pts. I am still a little :stress: stressed out because I don't enjoy getting lost too much. Gotta be cool!

Es I hope you feel better. I had a migraine yesterday that wouldn't quit. I finally ended up taking one of my pain pills from my gall bladder surgery last month and it finally helped me. I despise stomach viruses!!!! :grouphug: get well!

Jen, sounded very familiar with the port on your niece. My mother had one of those as well. She had breast cancer. I found those cancer patients to be some of the most couragious people I've had the honor to know. Such faith these people had! Thirty seven is quite young. What kind of cancer does she have? My mother passed away 5 years ago.

You guys sure brought back memories of the Woolworths balloons. We had a Eckerd drug store that had a soda shop too and did the same thing as well. I can still remember eating those banana splits! :T

It's a cold, rainy :rain: dreary day today here in South Carolina. I hope warm sunshine is shining on you all today!

Talk to you all later!

Terri, tell my girl I will pray for her. We don't want her being scared right? Poor thing. Dentists always makes us nervous. I go every 6 mths & when I'm done I thank God I don't have to go back for a few months. Thanks for providing the info for Donna. I haven't been to Dotties in quite awhile.

Donna, one day I had forgotten to pay my car payment. I freaked!:yikes: I hate driving. I always have. The only part I like about driving is not having to depend on anybody to get me where I need to go. I only drive local. I got lost once with my dog in the car. What a nightmare. Luckily she's a good dog who doesn't jump around all over the place. I think she caught my virus. Do dogs catch viruses from us? She has the runs. She has this sad look like her mama. We're under the weather today.

Points Lady called me earlier & said she wasn't going into work cause she has the Norwalk virus. I never heard of it. I looked it up on the internet & I may have the same thing. I probably caught it from her. My sister is a RN & she said people in the hospital are dropping like flies with this stomach virus. Pete went out & rented 3 movies before he left for work so I won't get bored. What a guy. I just finished watching the Banger Sisters. It's so good. It reminds me of my wild sister & me. She's Goldie Hawn & I'm Susan Sarandon.

Well ladies, I have to go to the WW site. Haven't been there all day.

Have a great day.

Love always,

Es,
Ellen has had a stomach virus for the past 3 days. SO I know what you've been going thru. I have been up with her the past 2 nights, so I am exhausted. Steve (who has a pinched nerve in his back) is home with her today, but she seems to be feeling a lot better. Her fever is down and She even ate a little toast this morning.

Hi Donna,
I am 45 with a 9 year old daughter, Ellen. I have also been married for 17 years but alas, I'm not lucky enough to be a stay at home mom. Cost of living is too high in the BAy area. We need 2 incomes. I hope you like it here. This is a great bunch of gals. You'll find I am the analytical one (right Jen?)

Everyone,
WI today and i gained 1 lb. Not that crazy with all that has been going on this week counting my points has been fairly low in the radar screen.

Thanks for the links, Terri. I must really be blind because I can't find on the subway site where it shows the ww points for each sandwich  But, thanks anyway.

Nice to have met you, Janie! I am sure the cost of living is much higher there than here but not to say we don't sacrifice me being home. We also send our daughter to a private school which the tuition is going up more and more every year so that has left us wondering if we can return her there next year.

Es I hope you are feeling better!

Oh, Terri I am sorry your daughter has to have oral surgery! I hope she isn't too scared when Tuesday comes. I will hold her in my prayers.

Need to go now. I'll talk to you later!

Hi guys:

Hey Donna - there's a link right here on 3fatchicks.com - fast food nutrition I believe its called, and it list subway and the ww points for each sandwich. Looks like the roast beef, terriyaki chicken and honey mustard ham are pretty good for 5 - 7 points.

Awwwwwww Es.........so sorry you're sick amiga. 2 people in the office are sick and they're thinking its that norwalk virus too. It is contagious I understand. Terri, I thought it was named for Norwalk, Connecticut:lol: Hope you feel better soon - enjoy those movies. I didn't know the banger sisters was out on video already.

Hey Zoe - are ya busy girl?

Terri - Sorry about Britt's oral surgery. Tell her I wish her a speedy recovery so she can start eating her favorites goodies real quick.

Hi Jen - How are you doing? How is the family?

Hey Ruthie - How have you been? How is school going?

Hi Janie - Don't worry about that pound - with everything going on right now, that's the least of your worries. Like I love to say sometimes "life gets in the way". You'll be fine. I hope Ellen gets better quick.

Hey LeeAnn, Sandy and Cindy - are you still with us? Come say hi.

Well, had our second ww meeting today and I lost 2.4 lbs. Not bad since I wasn't that "OP" this week and didn't exercise as much as I would have liked. So, I was happy with that loss, but of course, it was the first week's loss, so we'll see. I'll take it:D
Hopefully since we all pre-paid, the group will at least finish the 10 week program.

Okay, guys, my ER is coming on - catch you all tomorrow.

Hugs,
Dianne

Dianne,
WEIGH TO GO!!!! that's a great way to start :D

Es,
sorry you're not feeling well, hope it's NOT the virus that's going around. Feel better :flow1: How nice of Pete to rent the movies for you; how was Banger Sisters?

Terri,
Tell Britts she's in our thoughts :grouphug: for her. I'm sure everything will be ok, but anything dental is scary.

Donna,
my niece has had Crohn's disease since she was 13; about 2 yrs. ago was diagnosed w/colon cancer. They removed a portion of her intestine, but a yr. later found much of her abdominal walls were covered w/cancer. They're treating her now w/an experimental therapy, besides chemo she gets an antibiotic of some kind. Thanks for asking.

Ellen,
Sorry about Ellen not feeling well... :goodvibes: hope you all get some rest and feel better!

Well, I'm 8 points in the hole in my bank for this week. I know I can do well for the remainder till Monday. Lots and lots of water from here on in.

Brandon is here for a visit till Sunday :D :D

Hi to anyone I may have missed

Thank you all for your help! :flow1: Again I apologize that I'm a baby at this and appreciate you all helping me. :bb:

Dianne, congratulations on your loss!!!! :bravo: Even if it is the first week and you were not OP it just shows how well this WW plan works! I am real excited about finally having a plan. I've been trying to do this "may way" for a long time and was not getting anywhere. I realize I need guidance!

Jen, I'm sorry your niece has Crohns disease. I have a few friends who has daughters with this disease. My prayers go out to your niece. :)

Es, I usually love driving but when I get lost, that drives me crazy! :hyper: I am not one to adapt well to circumstances as those I have to admit. The day after my gall bladder surgery we had a ice storm which left us without power for 4 days. That about drove me crazy! :stress: On January 1st our power went out and as I was about to kick my dh into the next century with his "we have to make the best of a bad situation attitude" I was about to loose it! FORTUNATELY it came back on within the hour! :D :o So, as you can tell I AM Pre-menopausal also!!! I never used to be this bad! Really!!!

There is a horrible stomach virus going around here as well but had never heard if it had a name! When you have a young child, there is always something going around!

My daughter has a Brownie sleepover tonight and I'm going as well. I know that today will not be a OP day. BUT I'm going to give it my best shot. :^:

Well, have a good day today EVERYONE and a good weekend if I don't get back on here later!

Hi:)

Happy Friday. I went into work & had to leave 1/2 day. I feel so weak.:( I feel like I can sleep for hours. Going into work was a waste of time cause our computers were down & won't be fixed till Monday.

Donna, your post made me laugh:lol: I needed that today. Have a great time with your daughter. What's her name?

Jen, the Banger Sisters was great. (rated R) I have one more to watch. It's called Harrison's Flowers. I let you know if it's good.

Dianne, WTG with your loss. :cb: One of my co-workers told me this morning that she was watching a show last night on diets. Rated the best was Atkins & the Zone. I was so surprised!! I thought she was going to say WW.

The Points Lady/Police changed her story. She came in this morning & looked absolutely fine & said that her Dr. said "there's a possibility" she may have the Norwalk virus. I think we just caught a bug. People always have to exaggerate. She's the type if you have a headache, she has a migraine. If you have a cold she has the flu, if I say I walked 30 min. on my treadmill, she ran 60 on hers!! So annoying!

Soaps are about to start. I'll be back later:wave:

Es,
ooohhh, I have to give you credit for putting up with the Points Lady/Police all day at work....she would drive me nuts! My Dad used to call people like that "toppers" ...whatever you did, they did it first, better, etc.....
I hope you're feeling a bit better---just give into the tiredness and rest! I know when I had the flu (not the stomach variety, thank goodness!) I was exhausted...make sure you sleep!

Brandon and I went shopping today for a lamp for the guest room....came home with Harry Potter gym shoes, and really "cool" ski hat and gloves for him....and no lamp  He's going to sleep over at Uncle Joey's apt. tonight, and he's really excited about it. We got about 1" of snow, not enough to do anything in :(

I ordered fabric to make an upholstered cornice for the living room windows, and it was delivered today. Now I've got to get Joe to purchase the wood and make the cornice. Then we'll pad it and cover it......I've been watching too much Trading Spaces! :dizzy: It should look good tho, it's a paisley type fabric, with a black background.

So far so good today w/points...am on the low end of my range for the remainder of the week. Have to make up for those lunches.

Have a great Friday night!

Back again. Tell me something. Does worrying about our children ever go away? David is 31 years old & I still worry. He just left. He came by & spent a little time with me & now he's going to New Jersey for the weeknd with his boys. It probably would have been worse if he was a girl. My poor parents, what they went thru with me. I always thought they were being too strict but when I became a mother I realized why they were the way they were.<sigh> God will protect them.

Here's to you Donna:grouphug: for being so sweet.

I was reading a post in WW yesterday & one of the girls is coming out in Woman's World magazine in the Feb 4th issue. They chose her because she lost a lot of weight on WW & Wendi's Plan. I'll make sure to pick it up when it comes out. Good for her:cp:

Hey Jen - who got the Harry Potter gym shoes - you or Brandon? So cool that he's spending the night with Uncle Joey, he must feel like a big "guy". That cornice sounds like it will be really pretty.

Hi Es, mi amiga - sorry you're still not feeling well, you probably should have stayed in bed today. That points police person sound like what I like to call a PIA (pain in the ***) You need to develop a tough skin with a person like that and try to ignore most of her nonsense.

Donna - did you find the points for a subway sandwich? Did you have one yet? Let us know. I'm thinking of trying one, probably the 4pt roast beef one. I'm not one for lots of garnishes, peppers, pickles, etc. on a sandwich - tomatoe does it all for me - so it will be pretty plain, :D Your daughter's name is pretty. My baby girl (19) is Alana, close.........I can't tell you how many people call her Elena, lol. Enjoy the sleepover!

Hey Zoe Girl - what's up - busy with the house and the upcoming cruise I'm sure -- buy a bikini - you could probably wear one now with all that weight you lost:smug:

Hi Terri - how is Britts doing? Is she okay. I know she hasn't had the surgery yet, right? I wish her a speedy recovery.

Hi Ruth, Janie, Sandy, LeeAnn and Cindy - how are you all doing?

OMG - Es, how do you like the new phone system that starts tomorrow - that's what I really call a royal "PIA";) Why do they have to make things more difficult? Oh, well.........no sense complaining I guess, can't do anything about it!

Well, gotta go - have a great weekend everyone. I'll try to get back in tomorrow or Sunday.

Donna,
These restaurants won't tell you the points. You have to take the calories, fat and fiber and figure them out with the ww tools like slide rule, or calculator. I like to go straight to the restaurant sites and cause they have new foods etc...

I can't stay on because of what is going on with the Space Shuttle Columbia. Bruce is so upset. He just went into work to get some more insight.
Thanks for all the good wishes you all sent Brittany.

Good Saturday morning my friends ~

<sigh> What a sad and dreadful day for us all. The news here in Dallas/Fort Worth is just awful, people finding bits and pieces of the shuttle. Not much has been found so far but they say that it could be hours before pieces float/fall down to earth. What can I say.....we'll all pray for the members of the crew, their families and the country.

On a more upbeat note, I lost another 1.4 lbs this morning at my meeting/weigh in. That makes 40.2 for me. I can't believe it's now exactly 6 months since I started this time and I'm really glad that I've stuck with it. I'm not far from goal, another 10 or so pounds so it's looking good and I feel great.

Terri ~ I was thinking of you and of Bruce with all this. I'm so sorry......

I don't have any time to address everyone. I wanted to come and write a long post to all those I've missed the last week since I've been here but with the news, things happening in this area and trying to get ready for vacation, my time is limited right now. I'll be back later.......I've been so out of touch here so if there are any new members, my hello's now.

Love and God's blessings,
Patti <><

What a tragedy today. My heart goes out to the shuttle crew and their families and friends.

Terri - I can't even imagine how Bruce must feel, being so close to all this. My thoughts are with him as well.

Zoe - Congrats on your loss- wow, 40 lbs. - how wonderful for you. I remember when you were so down about this weight loss struggle and look at you now. You have much to be happy and proud about.

Es - I hope you're feeling better amiga. Jen's right, we never stop worrying about our kids, but you've done a great job with David and he has a good head on his shoulders.

Jen - How was Brandon's sleepover with Uncle Joey?

Hi:wave:

I tried so many times to get in here & it kept coming up WEBSITE NOT RESPONDING!

Terri, I heard the awful news this morning & as soon as I heard it I thought of Bruce. Very sad.

Jen, we must have been posting at the same time yesterday because when I hit reply your post wasn't there. I was wondering why Dianne was asking about a sleepover & Harry Potter shoes. About the Points Lady/Police, when I first met her she really got on my nerves. She is definitely a topper. She wants to be the center of attraction. She could be funny sometimes. So cute that Brandon spent the night with Joey. How'd it go?

Zoe, I know I keep saying this but I really can't get over how fast you lost weight! I'm losing .5 a week.(Big whoop) New house, cruise, how exciting. You deserve it. ;)

Dianne, I sware, you are too funny. I died when I read PIA! She is one but she can be thoughtful at times. I've learned to ignore people like her. It took alot of practice, believe me.

David called me earlier. He's having a great time with his friends. They were on their way to a big mall in PA. He's leaving Jersey early tomorrow to be home early. I just worry about the maniacs out there that drive 100 mi. an hour. That's my baby.

Stomach virus all gone. I thought I would have lost more than .5 this week. Oh well:shrug: a loss is a loss.

Well buddies, enjoy the rest of this lovely Saturday.

Till tomorrow:wave:

Es,
You lost! that's the most important thing. Please don't get discouraged, your body isn't letting go of those pounds, it will soon. Glad David's having a good time. It's good to hear that you're feeling better :)
I tried to get on the site last night and couldn't...very frustrating!

Brandon's visit w/Joey was good, he stayed up late.... and today
I'm paying for it
Jess & Mike wanted a night out, so we're having Matt spend the night tonight also. I have my once a month volunteer night so it'll be Joe home w/the boys; they're going to order a pizza and I'm glad I won't be here!!!!!

Terri,
My thoughts were also of Bruce the moment we heard the news. It is truly devastating to the NASA family. Tell him we care.

Today is a low low low points day. I'm hoping I can reverse the damage I've done by Monday

I'll keep her in my prayers.

Zoe,
Congrats on the weight loss. 40.2 lbs. is great! :bravo:

Dianne,
You too girl! Great loss. Keep it up. :cb:

Jen,
Too cute about Joey and Brandon. We did that in my old house.
Bruce built them and I picked out the fabric. Very pretty.

Es,
.5 is going in the right direction. :dancer: Don't sweat it. I hope David makes it home ok. I know he will. I know I will never end being worried. Being home all the time for them is going to make it sooo hard to let them go. I can't even think of it. :(

I watched 6 hours of NASA conferences on NASA Select. So sad. Those poor families.
I even miss Columbia. I have been under Columbia so many times during Open Houses at the Kennedy Space Center and touched it and I took lots of pictures of her.

I was so worried about having gone over on the two lunches last week, but the remainder of the week went well. I can see some very slight changes in my body, mostly firming due to the walking. This week I'm starting w/the handweights for strength and toning.

Zoe,
When are you moving into your new house? Your vacation is almost here, I'll bet you can't wait!

Janie,
How's Ellen feeling? Hope she's over that flu.

Zoe,
You are going to look so hot :flame: on that cruise. I had no idea you had lost 40 lbs. You go girl!!!

Terri,
I am so sorry about the Shuttle. I collaborate with many NASA scientists and I thought of all of them as well as Bruce. I hope he is doing ok. Will he be involved in the investigation of what happened?

Janie, I'm glad to hear Ellen is feeling better. Could Steve take something for the pain? Vioxx helps believe it or not. A co-worker had pain in her back & neck, after she took Vioxx she felt much better. Pain in the neck

Jen, you're putting me to shame! You're getting like Zoe with weight loss. WTG!!!! :D Are you eating small meals or 3 meals with snacks?

I exercised with The Firm & could only do half the tape. I feel so tired:yawn: I have no energy. I'm going to bed really early tonight. Too tired to type.

Jen - congrats on your loss - way to go!

Es - Don't overdo on the exercise, you're just getting over being sick! Too funny, about the Pain in the Neck (PIN) - better than PIA!

Janie - glad to hear Ellen is better and hope Steve starts feeling better too.

Donna - congrats on your loss too!

Hi Terri - how is Bruce doing? Good wishes to Brittany for tomorrow!

Well, tomorrow's being called "black tuesday" at the University - they will be letting about 30 people go. The women in my office have decided to all dress in black and when they ask us why, we're gonna say "we're mourning the loss of so many of our colleagues". It really sucks - my co-worker has been there 24 years and she's on the list to go! Its gonna be a rough week.

Well, I gotta get to bed - I'll talk to you's tomorrow.

Hi ladies,

Just wanted to stop by to say hello and that I've missed ya'll. I've just been swamped with school work and down right lazy at times!! In other words, just don't take the time to get in here like I should.

Donna, congrats on the 1/2 lbs. WW is a wonderful plan and easy to follow. Glad to here that people are noticing, isn't that a wonderful feeling!

Es, every little bit helps. Exercise that is. I only walked a mile on the treadmill tonight, I believe some is better than none. Now to follow my own advice!!

Jen, great going with the 2 lbs gone. Isn't it a great feeling to be on track. How long have you been op and how much have you lost total so far?

Terri, how is Bruce holding up? Has he had to come to the Texas/Louisiana area for any reason. I live here close to Barksdale where the remains and space shuttle are being kept. My mom lives on Toledo Bend about 10 miles or so from Sabine County, Texas. She heard the noise as the shuttle broke apart and reentered the earth. She said it was like rolling thunder.

Oh, by the way, I will have a granddaugher named Brittany as of Feb. 6.

Zoe, you have done so well. We are so proud of you. Keep up the good work. How much longer until your vacation now.

Dianne, hey girl, how are you?

Janie, Vioxx worked for me. I just hate taking medicines. I found after I would take it for a few days in a row, the pain would go away in my back.

Well, I hope I didn't miss anyone. Take care, and I'll try to get back in here sooner.

Jen,
Congrats. Great loss. :bravo:
Bruce used to work on the Space Station but now is working on a project with the Air Force on a new vehicle. It is supposed to fly around 2011. That is why he is in Col. Springs a lot.
Thanks for thinking of Brittany. She is a little scared.
Bradley has the flu. When it rains it pours. Brandon hated being the only one going to school. Bradley's fever won't go away. He will be out probably til' Thursday.

Es,
Thanks for your thoughts on Brittany also.

Janie,
Glad about Ellen and Steve. I hate when the family is down.
Thanks for thinking of Bruce. He is so sad. He said it was bad at work yesterday. Ex Co-workers from the Kennedy Space Center
kept calling him. There were so many stories. One guy worked on the peace experiment with the Isreali students and Palestinian students. Their experiment was found in tact. (Maybe a sign?) This guy had to take the students to grief counceling. They worked hard with Kalpana Chawla. This guy sent Bruce an emotional e-mail. He said in his e-mail that he was so proud watching these students work and party together. Not throwing things at each other like on TV . Very heart warming.

Dianne,
Thanks for your thoughts on Britts and Bruce also. So sorry about your colleagues. That really stinks.

Donna,
Congrats on your loss. That is great.

Ruth,
CONGRATS on your little Brittany. Great pick of names.
That is so cool. Keep us posted.
You know, Bruce might have to go help with the investigation. He works closely with the Air Force and they might call on him to help. He just told me that yesterday. WOW! Your mom heard it.!
I used to hear the 2 sonic booms when they were getting ready to land when I lived in Fl. and I remember how loud those were. I I can't even imagine how loud this was. Such a shame and it was only 16 mins. away from landing.

Gotta go and get ready to take Brittany.
Hi everyone!!!

Ruth,
Congrats on the pending new arrival! let us know how mom and baby are. Walking "only" one mile is great...don't sell yourself short. I would not like to have heard the shuttle; a few days after 9/11 some fighter planes flew into our area to escort a plane w/a suspected terrorist..they broke the sound barrier on their approach and we all freaked.
I've been doing WW Online since December 30, have lost 11 lbs. so far.

Es,
I mix up the meals depending on how I feel each day...some days I eat all day long, it seems! On those days I have yogurt, fruit, soups, salads. On others, I eat light breakfast and lunch, then have a bigger dinner, like pasta. Then I'm satisfied. I'm finally learning to look at food differently. I tell myself "this is not the LAST _____(fill in the blank) you'll ever have, so have it in moderation!" and it's working for me.
Make sure you get enough rest, you just got over being sick. I didn't exercise for a good 2 weeks after having the flu, just was too tired.

Donna,
glad you survived the sleep over :dizzy: Having others notice your loss is very rewarding!

Dianne,
That really stinks about co-workers being let go. I'm assuming your job isn't in jeopardy?
I did the WATP 2 mile yesterday, and am sore today! What a difference from the 1 mile...but I like it more.

Terri,
I hope Bradley feels better; Brandon was the odd one out, huh?
Glad to hear positive stories coming out of the shuttle disaster. My best to Bruce, he should be proud of his work and the difference he and his fellow workers make.

I'm going to try and post! :censored: I am having some difficulties just getting on this site! Is anyone else? :stress:

I hope I didn't sound self centered when I made the comment that others are noticing. It just confirms that it is not in my head or wishful thinking that this life change is making a positive difference. :)

Terri, I am assuming your dh works for NASA? I have a uncle who worked for NASA in Virginia for several years. He just retired last year or so. He worked on the satelites that went up into space. I still can't get over how all that happened and it also makes me upset to hear the media pondering whether we should continue space exploration. To me it's like all those men and women who risked their lives in the past and some that lost them all their work was for nothing. But, that's just my opinion.

I am sick today. Had a horrible night last night and now today I feel like YUCK! :yikes:

Jenny, congratulations on 11 pounds since December!!! That's amazing! :bravo:

Ruth, congratulations on the grand-daughter! I love that name! Very nice!! :)

Diane, so very :sorry: about your co-workers. Times are so tough now as far as the jobs go. I hope your job is secure.

Es, please take it easy on the exercise! You got to give your body time to adjust back from being sick! There was no way I could exercise today with the way I was feeling. But, when you do it long enough you do feel so bad when you don't. I can understand why you would do it but at the same time you have to consider you were just sick! Take care of yourself!

Janie, I hope you are having a good day and glad to know I'm not the only one having problems getting into this site!

Zoe, are you going on a cruise? My pilates instructor is gone on a cruise and so is one of my good friends from church. It must be popular right now! I would love to go on one. I hope I haven't missed you to wish you a bon voyage!

I am crossing :crossed: my fingers in hopes that I don't lose this post! I am sorry for anyone I left out and I hope everyone has a great day!

Hello:wave:

Donna, so sorry to hear you're not feeling well. I just got off the phone with my sister & she has a bad head cold. I can not believe how many people are walking around sick. I work in an office of 50 people & the majority are coughing, sniffling, watery eyes. You should be proud of your accomplishment. Please don't feel like you're being self-centered. It feels good when people start noticing. You probably look like a hottie, like my niece says. I hope you feel better real soon buddy.;)

Jen, I'm trying to get ideas from everyone whose losing consistently. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. I know it's my choices. I don't eat high volume foods. The snacks are sabotaging my weight loss. I'm thinking on giving up snacking all together. I'm getting so desperate I was thinking on trying slimfast for a couple of days.

Terri, how's Brittany? Awww Bradley:( Hope he feels better soon.

Dianne, how did your day go? What a bummer. David's job had a massive lay off too. Thank God he wasn't one of them.

Ruth, congratulations Grandma!!! Hope we can get to see a picture of Brittany. I'm sure she's a cutie.

Zoe, I saw your post over on WW General. Are you excited?! You're going to have a great time.

Well, till tomorrow:wave:

Good Wednesday Morning everyone ~

Well, 3 more work days and I'm outta here. I so can't wait! I have so much to do here between laundry, straightening up, packing.......an appt to choose colors in our new house (had to be done now since I'll be gone for a week).....I need a few more vacation days to fit this all in.

PRAYER REQUEST ~ as some of you know, I had asked for prayers for my mother when doctors found a spot on her lung. She had had colon cancer a few years back and I guess it's a little nerve-wracking. So they decided that it was some sort of cancer, small as it was, and they need to remove it. Unfortunately, it's in the middle where they can't really get to to remove so that have to take out the top half of the lung. It's a major surgery and will have a 3 month recovery. So please keep her in your prayers......thank you all so much.

Sorry not to address anyone today but I need to get finished and get to work. I will surely write to you all before I'm gone.

Love,
Patti and Zoe <><

Your mom is in my prayers Zoe!!!
I am so sorry. Please keep us informed.
Have a great time Zoe. Relax.

Jen,
That is so awesome about your 11 pound loss. Your attitude about food sounds like you heard the click. You are so right. It is never the last time we can eat our favorite foods. Everything in moderation.
Thanks so much for your kind words about Bruce. Marshall Space Flight Center is having their memorial today. He said hardley anyone has spoken in two days. We heard the 911 tapes on TV today. People calling about what they saw. One woman called and said "The shuttle blew up I know it was the Shuttle. It always goes over our driveway and we watch it." She was crying. It made me cry.

Donna,
I hate when that happens with my posts. When my message starts getting long I copy it and save it in case it erases. It can be very frustrating.
I hope you are feeling better today.
You did not sound self centered when you said that. SHOUT IT OUT TO THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BE PROUD!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes, my husband works for NASA. He worked at the Kennedy Space Center for 13 years and now works at Marshall in Huntsville, Al. I watched the Challenger explode outside the school that I worked in at the time. It was haunting. Sat. morning brought all that back. I agree with you. I think space exploration should go on. So many things came from the Space Program. Brittany made a list in case any teens at school said the Space Program was stupid. You know how kids can be. She was prepared. I know my mom wouldn't be here if it weren't for the Space Program. She has had 2 pacemakers since she was 48 years old.

Es,
When I stopped snacking it made a huge difference. I felt a lot better too. While losing I ate breakfast, lunch a mid afternoon snack, dinner and 1 snack at around 9:00. I wrote it out ahead of time.

Brittany made it through surgery. She was out of it most of the day. Bradley's fever keeps spiking and then going down. There were 150 kids absent yesterday from his school. One school around here called off classes yesterday because of the flu.
I am waiting for Brandon and Britts to get it. :yuck:

Good morning!

Zoe, your mother is in my prayers. I heard they always say it's cancer until they can rule it out. Which scares the living daylight out of you when you hear the C word! I will also pray for you that you have comfort and be strong for your Mom. Have a great relaxing trip!

Es, yes I find that snacking (especially at night for me) is something that is good to cut out. And those slimfast snack bars are very good if you want to try that at least. Hang in there! You will probably start seeing some dropping soon. I've heard it can happen that way! :dancer:

Terri, I guess it probably makes you angry too when you hear people say that man did not actually go to the moon that it was staged. Good for your daughter making her list!!!

I weighed myself this morning. I couldn't believe my eyes! I lost 4 pounds since starting WW! I know it helps that when I'm sick I can't eat! LOL But, anyway.... I will keep that off! I know I will! Going to the DR this morning and make sure I don't have an infection since this is the second time it's flared up.

Well, have a great Wed everyone and I will check in on you all later.

ZOe,
I will definately keep your mom in my prayers. You go on that cruise and have a great time. You deserve it.

Jen & DOnna,
Congrats to both of you on your losses:spin: I have not really been consciencously on program since this whole business with my mom started (back in Sept). Steve has suggested that we go to Hawaii for spring break so I better get back OP. It should be possible to loose 15 lbs by mid Apri. If I don't I won't be able to fit into my wet suit. I know I can do it with all you great gals supporting me.

Terri,
Hope Brit is recovering well. I have had oral surgery before and it really knocks you out for a couple of days. The one good thing is you can't eat very well so it is forced weight loss ;)'

Es,
I was thinking, we haven't had a challenge around here in a while. You did great on the one we had last spring. What do you say?

HI to everyone,

Donna,
4 pounds is great! Congrats :D Hope you're feeling better.

Terri,
I hope Britts is feeling better by now. I love the story about the list she made. Thanks for the support :)

Zoe,
Your Mom is in my prayers. When will she have the surgery? It's more important than ever for you to go ahead and enjoy your cruise.

Es,
I'm not allowing myself to beat myself up if I slip. I've gone over points, but then try to make up for it later. The online banking feature really helps me.
I do snack, especially have to have a dessert in the evening.
I just feel like I've grown up and faced facts...I am doing this for ME, don't want to be miserable the rest of my life with all this extra weight.

Janie,
WOW! Hawaii is calling you, I think you should go and enjoy! You can lose by then, I know it.

Jen, you go girl! I like that. What you said about facing facts & not wanting to be miserable for the rest of your life. You have no idea how much you are motivating me.;)

Janie, I'm down for a challenge.:D I'll be back later after my workout. Ahhhhhh Hawaii is my dream come true.(heaven)

Zoe, my prayers go out to your Mom. You know how awesome God is.

Donna, :dancer: :cp:  Good job!!!!!!

Terri:wave:

If I don't get on the treadmill right now I'll change my mind!

I'll be back later.

Me again:D

Terri, was Brittany in a lot of pain afterward?:( At least it's over with.

Donna, on my way to work this morning I stopped in Walmart & bought a box of the Slimfast Bars, OMG they are soooo good!!! That's going to be my evening snack.

I did something this morning that I surprised myself after I did it. All who know me well know how much I LOVE ice cream. I never eat regular ice cream just light. I had bought a 1/2 gallon of Turkey Hill Light Vanilla Bean & I threw away the whole thing this morning. I feel so good! I'm taking baby steps & it seems to be working.

Okay Janie, lets see:chin: how about about a 10 week challenge starting Monday? I have to renew my drivers license April 25th. My birthday is the next day (4/26) & I want to be AT LEAST 10 lbs. lighter but I'm going for 15.

Well my friends, I'll be saying goodnight.

Time to relax.

Hugs to all,
Es

Good morning,

I just wanted to say hello to everyone.

Zoe, your mom is in our prayers.

Terri, glad to hear that Brittany is okay. I guess I missed your post on what type of surgery it was.

I don't have time to say hello to everybody, we are out the door to hopefully meet our newest grandchild later today.

Talk to you later,
Ruth

Es,
That was a brave thing to do with the ice cream  but a good step forward! I have to do the same, just cannot have those temptations in my house. Perhaps one day, down the road, I'll be able to know there is a goodie hiding in the cabinet and it won't be calling me. But for now, I'm better off not having them around.

Ruth,
My best to your daughter for an easy, safe delivery.

I didn't exercise yesterday, went to my favorite mall instead. I'm making up by exercising today, but at least I got the walk in the mall.

will be back later,

Ruth, the best to the new mom and baby today! I pray all will go smoothly! ;)
Es, Congratulations on the saying  to the ice cream! I have two half gallons of that stuff in my freezer and also 4 boxes of girl scout cookies that I have not been tempted to get into yet! :dancer: So, I know the feeling! Please tell me more of this up coming challenge you guys are talking about. I would love to do it!
Jen, I didn't exercise yesterday either. I have a sinus infection and it's really wore me out. Not much energy but I have to find it soon because my house is a wreck and I have a mountain of laundry to do.
Terri, I'm sorry I didn't mention about your daughter and her oral surgery! I hope she is doing good.
Zoe, I'm praying for your mom.
Dianne, how are you doing? Haven't heard how Tuesday went. I can imagine it was a rough day.
Went a couple of points over yesterday but live and learn about that. I am getting the jest of how it all works and am trying to plan out the day and points.
Talk to you all later. Have a good Thursday!

Dianne,
I am sorry I guess I missed the thing about Tues. Were there many people you knew that lost their jobs? What University do you work at?

Es,
THe 10 in 10 Challenge:yes: 10 weeks and at least 10 lbs. Sounds doable to me. COunt me in!! I WI this morning and stayed the same again. I actually expected a gain :ink: so I'll take it.

Ruth,
COngratulations to you and the new mom. I will be an aunt again in a couple of weeks. My brother said that if his wife hasn't had the baby by 2/22 they will induce. I just downloaded a pattern for the cutest hat & sweater set to crochet. It shouldn't be too hard to finish since they are so small.

Terri,
Are Britt and Bradley feeling better? Ellen had a field trip yesterday to NASA Ames (Mountain View, CA). She really enjoyed it, but said that they talked about the Columbia quite a bit. How is Bruce doing?

Got to get to work now,
:grouphug: to all,

Hi:wave:

Ruth, hope Mom & Brittany are doing well. Babies bring so much joy.

Janie, I'm glad you brought up a challenge. It keeps me on track. I'm going to try real hard to stay within my points. Exercise is no problem. I really will be happy to lose 10 lbs.:D Staying the same is not so bad.

Donna, last year I started a challenge. It's time for another one to give us a boost. You decide how much you want to lose & what day you'll be weighing in then you post it. We'll be starting on Monday, 2/10 thru 4/21. All are welcome.;)

We're getting snow again. Suffolk County is suppose to get most of it which is us. I don't care. I'm off. :D I'm going to try to talk Pete into taking off. I doubt if he will cause he's off on Thursday for his birthday.

I was having trouble trying to get in the WW site. Let me try again.

Hugs,

Happy Friday!

It's snowing. It looks soooooo pretty. Everything is nice & still outside. Love it!!!

We all should pick up a Woman's World magazine. There's an article about the Wendi's Plan. If Pete goes out to the store before work I'm going to tell him to pick one up for me. I guess I'll be staying in today. I don't mind.

Hope to hear from all of you.

Love you's,

Hello friends ~ Just a quick hello before I get out to work. My last day and then it's cruise time. :D I will go to my WI tomorrow although my scale looks as if I went UP!! Grrrrrrr!! How can that be? Anyway, I will write before I leave tomorrow.

Thank you all for the prayers for my mom. She will be having her surgery on Wednesday. Can you believe it, while I'm gone!!?? I am 1500 miles away from her anyway so we will still go on vacation.....I'm sure she'll be fine and I'll visit her during her recovery.

Talk to you's guys later.

Zoe,
Bon Voyage! Hope your trip is everything you want. Enjoy!

Es,
I'm jealous of the snow you're getting! We haven't had even one decent snowfall this year. It is so pretty when it's falling. I'll have to check out the magazine. Did I read somewhere that the Wendi plan was mainly designed for those on maintenance? Not sure :?: sounds like it'd work for anyone, right?

Donna,
You're right about live and learn...if you go over, don't let it get you down. I used to be the "all or nothing" mentality, would join and the first gain or bad day, I'd throw in the towel and quit. Now I just put one foot in front of the other and try to look to the next victory over the scale, the next loss.

Tonight is our girls' night out...meeting for dinner w/my friends from my old job. We're meeting at TGIFridays', which is the most centrally located for us all. I've already checked out their menu/points on Dotties' site and know what I'm going to have. I'm not worried at all :D

We're having a small get together here on Sunday for Joe's birthday...he suggested pizza...now THAT is my challenge! I'm going to put together a huge veggie tray to have beforehand so I stay away from the pizza.

later,
~Jen

Zoe, I hope you have a wonderful trip and that all goes well with your Mom's surgery. I know everything will be fine. Keep the faith and know that God is with you every step of the way!

Es, count me in on the challenge! I guess I'll post my starting weight on Monday? I can't wait! This sounds like just the thing I need right now. Thank you so much! We didn't get snow but we got a lot of rain. I don't think we are in a draught any more! Please tell me what you think of the Wendi's plan.

Jen, yes we must not give up! I have made up my mind that this is my last chance to get healthy and all. I have not been taking care of myself for so long and only concentrated on others in my life and it has taken a toil on me. I can't be a good wife, mother, daughter, friend if I am not my best. Have a great night out and good for you for checking out the menu BEFORE going out! That's the key isn't it! Planning when you can! Then there are no regrets, no beating ourselves up with why did I!!! Have a great time!

Got a little party at Elena's school this afternoon so I have to get ready now. I will check in later!

Hi Buddies:grouphug:

Zoe,
Your mom will be in my prayers and in my heart, I hope she will do well with both the surgery and recovery. It sounds like a tough road ahead. I am excited to see that you have done so well with WW and are able to go on this cruise.

Jen, Congrats on your big click, it looks like you will be on a roll. 11 lbs down WOOHOO!

Ruth A big welcome to the new baby, hope everyone is feeling fine.

Janie and Es That challenge sounds like a great idea for me too. I don't think I have really heard my click yet again, but I want to try.

I have really missed being here. I don't think I realized how busy that I have made my life this year. My mom is back on her own in her own house, but she is almost an hour away from us, so I find it takes a full day when I go down to help her out with errands and such. I have 3 part time contracts and I am chair of the governing board of our church until mid June. I am really happy with all of the satisfaction I get from my work, both the volunteer work and the reinforcement I get from the data base design work too.

But, I find that taking care of myself and following WW has dropped off my priority list. NOT good! I am still maintaining my weight by exercising, but my eating habits have slipped so badly. I think that my two worst habits are snacking at night to relax, and portion size creep. I'll try to be here more often , it does me so much good to be part of this crowd.

Hi Terri, Dianne, and the new buddies

More hugs, you are all the best! :grouphug:

WINTER WONDERLAND!!! It's still snowing. Pete left 2 hours early just in case the roads are really bad. Couldn't convince him to stay home.

Zoe, I'm excited for you. You're going to have a great time. I've never heard of anyone not having a good time on a cruise. Have a dessert on me then walk it off. If you have a small gain it's probably water. You're doing great. I'll be thinking & praying for your Mom.

Hi Sandy!! Good to hear from you. We missed you. Don't give up on WW okay? Spring is right around the corner & we have to start taking off all the layers of clothes.:yikes: I'm trying so hard with nightime snacking. The slimfast bars help. Satisfies my sweet tooth. Keep in touch. ;)

Donna, I'm glad you're down for the challenge. Way To Go!!!

Jen, the Wendi's Plan helps with plateaus. Lots of women sware by it. I haven't tried it. Maybe I should.

Terri, I've been meaning to tell you, the chihuahua on top of the dog was soooooo cute!!! I showed Pete & he was laughing.

Well, gotta find things to do today. Can't go anywhere. I guess I'll clean then workout later.

Enjoy your day.

Love,
