Ok.. So I just bought this book today called, "Diet Drama" and even though it's a book geared for teenagers there are some really good things in the first chapter.
The author stresses the importance of loving yourself and your body no matter what size! That doesn't mean, "Don't try to be healthy" or "Don't lose weight." But it means not deciding that your size and weight determines your self-worth! Whether you have no lbs to lose or 500 lbs to lose, your self-worth is not based on that!
I wanted to share with you guys because I know I struggle with bashing myself constantly because of my weight. I know I'm not the only one.
So i want to ask, "What do you love about your body or yourself?"
I love that I laugh at just about anything.
I love my lips.
I love the muscle I can see forming in my thighs from all the lunges and squats that i do.
That really sounds like my kind of book. It's the message I preach all the time because loving ME was what helped me lose the weight in the first place
I love my hair. I have a lot of it and it's beautiful and curly and makes lots and lots of people jealous. It's also fairly unique and I love to embrace that.
My legs. I've been lucky to always have pretty nice looking legs, regardless of my weight. I love them even more now!
I love my drive and my love of school. It made getting degrees so much easier. I also love that I have the drive to get a Ph.D.
I love my eyes.
I love the fact that I don't have love handles (of course the weight is on my belly and thighs, but hey! No lovehandles!).
I love my heart shaped freckle on my right arm.
Honestly i love how strong my body is, i am utterly amazed at the beating i've put it through and yet it carries on and answers every demand i make of it.
I love how soft I feel to the touch.
I love how strong I feel as well.
I love how great I feel after exercising. Like my body has taken in a deep breath.
This is so hard for me answer right now... it's been one of those days. But I'm going to force myself because of this.
I love my calves- they're pretty rockin from all the spin classes. I love my green eyes. I love how much strength, endurance and energy I have now. I love that I smile all the time- sometimes I catch myself and feel silly, but it's totally genuine and I can't feel bad about that!
My teeth. I'm so obsessed with teeth haha. I wore a retainer every night for years, even though I had stopped going to the orthodontist because I was so afraid I'd end up with gap or crooked teeth. I also whiten them all the time.
I also love my shoulders... and how I have pretty well defined collarbones now.
I like my eyes as they're big and blue, I also like my waist as its small, and people have always said my smile and my bum are some of my best features.
I love my eyes - some people are taken back with how blue they are and the distinct dark "ring" I have around them, I'm often asked "Where do you get your contacts?"
I love my curves - I have a thin waist considering my weight.
I love my legs - My weight has always gone to my torso, and my legs seem to be unaffected. Sure, they could be thinner, but they're pretty nice as they are now!
I love my personality - I know it sounds big headed, but I do love the type of person I am. I love my humour, my kindness, my strength, my outlook on life - I'm always open for improvement and always seek to learn more about others and myself.
I like my curves, I think they are feminine.
I like my legs. I have wider hips so my legs are naturally larger also and I like that, it adds to the "shapely figure." I don't wanna look like a stick, even when I reach my goal weight.
I love my skin, it has cleared up so much since dieting and exercising.
I love how good my body feels after I exercise.
I also like my feet, weird, but I think their cute.
I love my perfect hourglass shape, that being said the butt and the boobs as well.
I love my eye lashes... they look fake thats how long they are.
