I was OP all weekend long without one slip up! I slept tons so I am assuming it was because I barely drank any water and am retaining! My goal today is going to be 100oz. I know it's a big goal but I think it's doable! I need to rehydrate

Happy Monday All!

I'm still here, still reading and celebrating all of your successes and rooting for you in your difficult moments!

I had a binge-free weekend!! I had 1 higher calorie day, but was still within weight loss range, and the higher calories weren't due to a binge. This is the first weekend in recent memory that I was binge free and I just wanted to share with someone!

14: 252.2 (+0.4)
15: 253.8 (+1.6) TOTAL LOST 5.9

Well...humph! LOL. Definitely not stressing about this number because I was perfectly OP all weekend (which included a BBQ, baseball game and dinner out with my DH)! A true success for me! I think TOM's just trying to mess with me as he's due in just a couple days now.

The BBQ Saturday was with my co-workers and I had a really great time! The food was delish and the conversation was fun. The we headed to a baseball game with my parents. Oddly enough, it was Star Wars night (not sure what that has to do with baseball) and Storm Troopers, Darth Vader, and Obiwan were spotted on the grounds. Our team (Sacramento Rivercats) lost the game but gave a good run towards the end which kept things interesting. However, the best time of the evening was the fireworks show! The fireworks were set off to the Star Wars music theme and were simply fantastic! The best I've seen in years even over 4th of July celebrations. SO MUCH FUN! I wish I would have taken some pictures but I was so awe struck...I never pulled my camera out. Oh well...

Tonight's my first group training session for the gym challenge. I tell ya, this challenge will give me even more motivation to stay OP over the weekend becuase Monday is our official WI day...yikes! And we have to WI at 6pm no less! These are not my favorite people right now.

Lindy -- Yikes is right. I hate it when I see those numbers! Good job for getting back on that scale and facing the music! You CAN turn it back around!

Lin -- NICE JOB!! Current score: Family gathering - 0, Lin - 1. Woo hoo!

Diana -- Looking good. You sure make maintenance look easy! I can't believe you've been in maintenance for nearly four months now!?!? AMAZING!

LGW -- You are doing great!

Starbrite -- I googled it a quickly read a few articles which seem to imply that prolonged antibiotic regimends can lead to weight gain but yes...the research also seems to imply that it isn't "real" weight. Sorry your sad but TOTALLY understand. You've got the best plan in place to refocus. Don't let those idiots (sorry...I know they're your family) get to you!

Kukkie -- Woo hoo! You go girl and give that weight the finger! LOL!

OnaMi -- I will! And you too! I hope you're able to compete because that event sounds fun!'

Gale -- for your no binge weekend! I am so proud to you!

Hi, everyone. I've been pretty much a slug all morning and feeling a little sad because DD was here for a week and she left this AM. I've been reading posts I missed all weekend while at my niece's wedding. I'm noticing something in all the posts. This thread and others. We are an incredibly busy bunch. Lots of normal summer activities that fill the days and involve the 3 F's - family, friends, food. We're also less likely to get enough sleep (I probably averaged less than 5 hours per night for the last 8 days, with even less while doing wedding stuff.) I've also noticed it's been harder (for me, anyway) to shed the pounds that were coming off like magic earlier.

This is what has come to me. This last month for me has been more like maintenance than "dieting." I'm OP most of the time. Exercise is good. Water - not to good. Sleep - really not so good. And if we can all do as well as we have been under "summer mode" living, I think we are WAY ahead of the game!

The people who post in this particular thread are all fantastic examples of what to do if you want to lose weight and maintain a healthy life style. You are all my heroes and are the examples that I try to follow every day. We have fun with our friends and families. We are making the best choices we can at (almost) every meal. We are checking ourselves every time we slip. WE ARE SUPPORTING EACH OTHER. We are perfect examples of how to do this the healthy way. Lots of different methods - lots of great results.

We need to be proud of ourselves and really celebrate even the tiny successes (like coming back from vacation and jumping back in with both feet) along with the huge ones (maintaining for months after a long losing battle.) "Losing Battle" sounds like an oxymoron, doesn't it?

Here's to all of us. Summer is full of great fresh fruits and veggies which make it easier to eat correctly. But it's also filled with BBQ's, pool parties, road trips, and fried dough. And we're still collectively winning the losing battle. Woo Hoo!

July 05, 2011: Weigh In: 261.2
July 31, 2011: Weigh In: 250.8
Total Loss For July, 2011: 10.4 pounds

11: 249.0
12: 249
13: 247.4
14: 247.6
15: 246.6

Now a pound isn't that much to about, but you see as I fell asleep last night I kept thinking "You will weigh between 246.8 and 245.8 in the morning" over and over. And my body listened. Gonna try it again tonight and make sure it wasn't a fluke.

Mandy Hope you feel better soon! It's probably a result of all that smoke you've been dealing with.

Gale Good job, lady!

OnaMi You are now at my dream weight, 177. Congrats! And I'm glad I had you singing this morning!

Starbrite It's The Antibiotics!!! Antibiotic DO cause weight gain. The kill the good bacteria too and then the yeast in your body gets out of hand. Eat yogurt and cranberries! Yeast (the kind living in your body) can make you retain water and gain weight in the abdomen. Overabundance of yeast in your body can also make you crave sugar and alcohol, knock your thyroid out of wack, and cause pms-like symptoms. Get some probiotics, eat lots of gralic, avoid sugar and wheat, also oil of oregano is supposed to help. And the yogurt and cranberry. Also exercise can help clear out the toxic bi-products of yeast over-growth.

Umm, that's all. Will stop vomiting information now.

to Everyone else. I'm off to get a massage and facial!

Down 0.2 to 235.4 this morning. Didn't get in much water yesterday, so going to make a point of that today!

LGW - You are definitely ready! Congrats with the 20 lb loss so far!

Starbrite - You're still doing a wonderful job, and I'm positive it's you being sick that has your body acting unusual. I wouldn't worry about your family's negativity getting the best of you...you have experience and all of us! You know how to do this, because you've already done it! I'm sure you will hit your new goal in no time. Also, great collarbones in your new avatar!

Beck - Congrats on the loss!

FitGirly and Kukkie - That's the spirit, ladies...go get 'em!

Vixsin - I'm loving the positive attitude everyone is having this morning! Also, you're doing awesome. I'll be right there with you getting that water in today...that's my main focus for the day, too.

CutieCourt - Same to you! Vixsin and I are right there in the water zone with you, haha.

Gale - Congrats on your BINGE-FREE weekend!

JamiSue - Hahah, yeah...no biggy at all, just call an ambulance, please! Also, that baseball game sounds like it was awesome. I'm not even what one would really consider a Star Wars fan, and even I would have loved to have seen that! The theme music + fireworks must have been epic. My best friend and her husband live in Sacramento, and he's particularly obsessed...I wonder if he even knew about it. Hmm, I have a phone call to make, lol.

Mandy - Ouch! I hope you feel better soon, hun.

Lin - Love your last post! You have articulated what I feel gives so much strength to this thread in particular. The people here inspire me each day, and this is why I know this weight loss journey will be no problem, as long as we just stick to it.

StarGetsFit - Nice loss, congrats! Things like that are worth a little now and then, lol.

Diana, Ona, Madame, and Matilda -

guys i'm awful today...

when i'm sick, i just want comfort food. so it's lemon bars, and a thick rich garlic parm sauce going on dinner tonight (baked fish, potatoes, green beans)... the steam from cooking is helping the sinus pressure. ugh. this is miserable. thank you for the well wishes.

Are you ready for a rant?

I am so pi$$ed with myself. As you all know by now, I have some type of stupid allergy. I have been doing really well. My mouth inside/out hasn't been this healed since this thing has started. I have been avoiding all nuts, tree nuts, legumes, and coconut. (personally I'm thinking it's a legume allergy - peanuts, green beans, snow peas, beans, etc) I have been going through this thing for so long and the food that I am eliminating has changed so much that sometimes I literally have to sit there for a minute to try to keep straight what I am eliminating. Anyways, we went to dinner tonight. I ordered my food, and DH ordered the special. In fact, I told him to order the special because I thought it would be something he would like. I always take a little bite of his food. His food is very different than what I would order. This gives me a chance to a "taste" of something different and satisfies me. So I take a little bite of his meat and potato. As I am swallowing I hear him say "Diana, that has nuts in it". Crap! He had almond encrusted pork chops and mashed sweet potatoes with a pecan topping.

I don't know if I am allergic to these nuts or not. It may just be a legume allergy. It may just be that I have a crazy body and it does whatever it wants whenever it wants. Anyways, I am just so frustrated with myself. If I have an allergic reaction I can't take an antihistamine because I have an appointment next week with the allergist for more skin testing. We'll see how tomorrow goes since my reactions don't normally show up immediately. If I have a reaction, I will deal with it, but it could have been avoided.

Anyways, rant over!

Thanks Lin, I was just getting to the end LOL so here is this mornings post from the part one thread

Good Morning Everyone

First let me thank Ona and Jami for checking on me ... I appreciate it. I haven't read any of the thread yet and so if there are others that may have asked about me on the thread, thank you in advance

We went out of town for a reunion and found out that one of my cousins whom I had never met had passed. He died of throat cancer that had spread through his body. He was 47.

I also got to spend time with my Auntie that I use to stay with as a child. We all had a ball. The food was delicious. I ate everything that I had not had in months and plenty of it. I wouldn't change a thing about what I ate.

Here are my stats from Wednesday up to today:
10 ~ 176.4 (-0.4) TTOM
11 ~ 178.2 (+1.8) TTOM
12 ~ OOT/no weigh in
13 ~ OOT/no weigh in
14 ~ OOT/no weigh in
15 ~ 184.0 (+5.8)

I am up 6.8lbs for the month. I can't say this is all sodium though I know it is a great contributor. I know it's a ton of bad (but really tasty) eating. I'm back to good eating today and I will hopefully get some exercise in. I am pooped. I slept like a log last night and with the way I'm feeling right now I will definitely take a nap today. I bought a Smart Health Pedometer Heart Rate Watch while I was in NC. And The Denise Austin bio trainer Weight Loss System that I had ordered was in the mail when we got back so I need to set that up. Something has to help. Well I've got a ton of reading to do all the way back to page 27, whew.

BBL Have a great day everyone
