Question Late Night Fun Ideas

My best friend's birthday is Monday, and since I have a job-thing that I can't get out of until about 9:00 PM we'll have to hang out afterward. We're probably doing a group thing on Sunday, but Monday night will just be the two of us. I want to plan something fun for him, but would like to do something that we don't do all of the time. I'm trying to avoid movies/video games since that's the norm for us. We live in a town where pretty much everything but Walmart closes at 10:00 and parks have a 11:00pm curfew. Neither of us drink, so bars aren't really an option either. We'll likely spend all night together, so I have a lot of time to plan for. Any ideas? He doesn't let me buy him gifts, so any help with ideas to treat him would be great too.

Bowling is always fun! (And it works as exercise! I'm always sore afterwards, hehe)

Over here, we have midnight bowling, where they turn off all the lights, and turn the music up! It's open till 1am. If bowling sounds fun to you, check out your bowling alley's schedule!

Does it have to be some place to go? Can you make your own fun? Like, design a personalized scavenger hunt for him, play charades or board games at your place, decide upon some fantastic (and healthy) new recipe to cook together (buy the ingredients beforehand), etc? Ideally it would be something that you know *he* would enjoy and suit his interests to make it special for his day.

(And bowling is also a great idea if lanes are open in your area, lol!)

Thanks for the ideas! I'm still undecided, so keep 'em coming.

I think we'd both enjoy geocaching, but neither of us have a handheld GPS. It's too bad because it would be fun trying to geocache in the middle of the night and not get arrested.

I'll have to see how spontaneous/adventurous he's feeling. Maybe we'll end up going to Walmart to buy a cheap-ish GPS.
