Oh yum! I'm going to have to make that!
It is 109 degrees. We are on day 32 in a row of temps in the 100's. It's too much! And the next 10 forecast shows it stillup there.
I had great tripto SA. Pat's been sick and still isn't feeling great. He has had a fever and terrible cough for over a week. He did go to the dr.
The heat is zapping me! I don't want to do anything.
08-02-2011, 05:32 PM
Hi everyone!!! Happy August!!!!! I think we are on the downside to this heat!
Tina - I love that recipe!!! I've made it before! I have even made it in dessert dishes. And instead of the pie crust....I just sprinkled graham cracker crumbs on top with fruit!!! Good for you getting back to your ww meetings and walking on the treadmeal! I just kick started my program yesterday! I feel heavy! When I was at the dr. last week had I gained a total of 16# back! Gotta get it under control while I can! :o
Susan - yay to being home! You will be going back to school soon so enjoy the next couple of weeks to the fullest!!!!
Tammy - YES YES YES.......I too, am sooooo glad to hear that you are doing well!
Maureen - how are things going? Can't wait to see pics of your new place!!!
Marion - hello out there!!!!
Janelle - I would love some of your fresh veggies too!
It's denim days at work for the entire month of august.....so, I'm praying I don't sweat to death trying to wear them!!!! I work tomorrow and then saturday & sunday this week. To answer your question tina, I just work about 3 days a week. And...I'm not in management!:carrot:
The house is looking absolutely beautiful. I sure am getting a lot of opions about things........colors for one and the biggie from my MIL is the color of stain we picked for the hardwood floors! Urgh! I get so tired of it!
Gotta run.....working on laundry. Just ate my 6 Point dinner and I think I will have the 1 Point fudge bar! Talk soon!!!
Have a great night and stay op! Stay hydrated too!
Oooh---how are those fudge bars? I thought I would buy some when I go for weigh-in. Are they expensive.
Jeanne, I'm so sorry you have to deal with the MIL :(
Susan, do you cook in this weather? Yuck
08-02-2011, 06:14 PM
Tina, I don't cook alot. I won't tonight because I have a headache. That's a good excuse! I did last night, Pat wanted bologna gravy & biscuits. His dad is a hillbilly! And it's Pat's I don't feel good food. Mine scrambled eggs! :)
Jeanne, I love the house!
08-02-2011, 07:13 PM
SusN & Tina - so glad that recipe didn't call for "smacking".......I wasn't sure where to buy that!!!! hahaha! :dizzy:
Susan - thank you!
08-02-2011, 08:24 PM
just sitting here and really hoping that I'll be in my own place by the end of the week. Honestly I must be nuts! I've been back 2 weeks last night & in that time I've started a new job & bought a condo & want things to speed up! What am I thinking!! I wonder why I'm tired-in the last 2 months I've given notice at one job, sold a condo, sold furniture packed boxes and drove 2300 miles, started a new job & bought a place. So, I guess that's why I'm tired. I don't know if I mentioned that I'm staying at my husband's place(next assignment is getting a divorce-it's been 5 yrs that we've been separated)-it's nice of him to let me stay but he smokes and the stink drives me crazy-I feel like i smell like the bottom of an ashtray!-oh, well-keep your fingers crossed that I'll have my keys by friday-I've bought furniture from a friend of mine-all teak and danish style-I just love it-it's about 30 yrs old & in fantastic shape-dining room table & chairs-coffee table, bedroom set a fairly new burgandy leather couch-all I'll really have to buy is a tv, microwave & mattress-my brother's going to send my boxes out as soon as I move.
thanks for listening to the rant
hope we all have a great evening and a super day tomorrow
Yikes!!! My laptop did it to me again. The mouse on this thing just runs amuck and that makes it erase things.
Part of the key lime pie recipe ingredients disappeared.
Thanks Maureen for telling me.
Two ingredients are missing--
2 containers (6 oz.) key lime flavor light yogurt
1 container (8 oz.) fat free whipped topping
08-03-2011, 08:26 AM
Finally getting a break in the heat this week. :carrot:
Maureen, no wonder you're tired, lots going on.
Thanks for the recipes too.!
Stayed the same this week. 142. I'm ok with that. We had out of town relatives around and lots of food/drink stuffs. Thank goodness, that doesn't happen often.
I'll get some more pics of the garden up later.
08-03-2011, 11:10 PM
Thank goodness, I didn't have my skivvies hanging on the line, when I took the garden pic. LOL.

Following, a little diet joke, my Mom sent me this, HILARIOUS!
What is a calorie?
Calories are the little b*st*rds that get into your wardrobe at
night and sew your clothes tighter...
MY CLOSET IS INFESTED WITH THE LITTLE S***S.
Janelle, congratulations for holdinig your weight at 142! Great job!!!
Where are the pictures?
I hope everyone is having a great Friday and staying cool.
I am sooooo tired of this hot, hot weather.
What's going on with everyone today? Any plans for this weekend?
08-05-2011, 08:28 PM
Well Mom had her surgery today. They ended up having to go back in there and changed the locking device. it was damaged. I'm sure it's due to her fall the last time and she doesn't keep her foot straight. Hopefully she will be on the right track soon. She will go back to rehab.
Nothing new here but it's hot! I know I keep saying that because it is!!!
Pat is still not feeling well but not running fever. Yea, first time in 2 weeks. However, silly guy is going to play tomorrow night. He doesn't want me to go because it's a crowded and hot place. I'm staying home. I keep trying to tell him that he shouldn't but what do I know!
Susan, I've wondered all day about your mother.
Hopefully, this time will fix things.
Sorry Pat still feels bad.
08-05-2011, 10:28 PM
Susan, I'm sure this will fix it for your Mom-all will be well
I should be getting my keys next week-bank has sent documents to my lawyer. I bought a mattress & TV-arranged for cable, internet & land line- I'll be so glad to get out of this suspended state- When I get moved I'm going to buy another pair of roller blades. You can't keep this old broad down!!
I'm going in to the office tomorrow-we have some people going out to work-will be there at 5 AM-early start to the day
let's all have a great weekend
08-07-2011, 07:08 AM
Good morning everyone!
Susan - How is your mom? Been thinking about cha'!
Maureen - wow, sounds like things are moving right along! I'm sure you can't wait to get moved into your own place.
Tina - what's new? Are you getting any relief in the weather?
Jenelle - Will you have pumpkins & gouards in your garden?
Tammy - Hi! What's new?
*Working all w/e here! Yesterday was friends & family at the Bug.......it was pretty busy. but....we were up against the local Folk Festival, or we probably would have been busier.
*Went down to the house when I got home last night. Was a little disappointed.......things were kinda messy. lots of dust and dirt. Fingerprints on white closet doors and stuff........and........the bathroom in the basement was flooded!!!! urgh........
We would have been much more strict on the contractor....but....my husband WORKS with his father and father in law! Urgh. I might start cleaning tomorrow.
*Praying for the families of the Navy Seals that were killed yesterday. Breaks my heart! My husband was in the Navy for 12 years............
Ya'all have a great Sunday! I'm doing a little laundry and then heading out to work!
Everyone have a great Monday!!!!!
Drink your water and eat fruit----that's what I aim to do. ;)
08-08-2011, 05:51 PM
Mom has had a pretty good day. She sat up for 2 hours this morning and ate 1/2 her lunch. She sounded much better!!!! I'll call again in a little bit.
I haven't gotten much accomplished today. My doctor did call and wants me to keep taking the prenatal vitamins because my iron count was normal! Yea, now I'll go give blood!!
I'm on the last week of vacation. I hate to go back! Especially going to a different school!!!!! I still have to move all my stuff! Yuck!!!
Stay cool and hope you had a great Monday!
Tuesday--another hot one! :)
Susan, that's great about your mother feeling better!!!
I've got to go see a dr. today. I've got a little cyst on my hip and it's irritated and yucky! I just found it there on Sunday. My dermatologist can't see me until next Thursday afternoon. And, my dr. and his wife (a dr.) are both busy until next week! (It must be because of school.) Anywho, I have to see someone new, just to get an antibiotic. I hate doing that!
Maureen, hang in there!
Jeanne, clean you old house. :(
Janelle, how's that garden?
Tammy, we miss you!
Mimi, farmgirl and Dori.......POST. :)
08-09-2011, 11:32 PM
Finally getting a few things from the garden. It's late this year due to 5 early hail storms. *deep sigh* But it's starting to roll. Getting yellow squash, zukes, and few green beans. Can't wait for the heirloom tomatoes, a new crop for me. Not the maters, just the variety. When the cukes finally set, I'm going to have them running out my ears!:carrot: Got tired of radishes, ripped them up and planted fall spinach and butter crunch and romaine lettuce. Now for the sweet corn under my neighbors pivot to get ripe!:D:D:D Also have eggplant, pumpkins, watermelon, scarlett runner beans, dragon tongue beans, several varieties of heirloom carrots, ( a new experiment), beets, Cherokee wax beans, (YUM), Brussell sprouts. Did not look at the maturity days on the BS. Good thing they are cold hardy. I'll probably have to cover them, they should be ready about Christmas. :?:
Cauliflower, green cauliflower, broc, and okra, another new one for me!
Down .2 this week. 1.8 to go.
08-10-2011, 11:38 PM
I spoke too soon. Shortly after posting, the ping pong ball size hail rolled in and shattered the garden. *deep sigh*
Some will recover, some sadly are toast!
Oh Janelle, I am so sorry. That's horrible. I was just reading about all your wonderful things in that garden.
It's too bad you could have a contraption you could put over the garden when a storm was coming.
Well, if you lived in TX, you wouldn't have a garden at all. This heat is just unreal!
Our peach and pecan crops are history this year.
How's everyone else?????
08-11-2011, 07:56 PM
I should be getting my keys tomorrow!!!! I'm so glad-I've made arrangements for my boxes to come from Ottawa and hopefully by next weekend I'll have my furniture-I'll have an airmattress and a tv when I move in!!!
hope we all have a great day on program-I haven't been following at all
:carrot: Yea, Maureen!!!!!
Everyone is busy, busy right now, I guess.
I'm off to buy curtains/drapes for the living/dining rooms. Maybe I'll just get sheers for the dining room window. I really don't know what I want. :)
Have a great day!
08-16-2011, 10:23 PM
I just realized I had not posted in the last week or so. Momma is doing well. She is at rehab now and told me the last 2 days she is "ready" to go home! She's not!!!
School is ok! That's all I can say about that without crying. It's all the changes that are killing me!
Pat's still sick.... been a month now. He is on his 3rd antibiotic, nose spray, cough medicine and now a steriod shot. If this doesn't work, Thursday, the dr. said she is sending him to a specialist. His friend that is the OB/GYN said "he will put him in the hospital" I will laugh if he does. I told him not every guy has their own OB/GYN!!!
The heat killed my garden. I gave up because we are on such water restrictions too.
I need new curtains in our bedroom too. I tried to wash them and the backing pealed off of them. They have a thermal backing. Pat said "Well, we've had them 15 years." I guess it's about time! So I'll have to look for some more!
Have a good week!

08-17-2011, 12:26 PM
Here's a few picks. Mostly after the hail. And the crew, Maxx, Mick and Ruby
08-17-2011, 01:42 PM
WI last night. 142.6. Hanging in around the 142 mark. I only have 2 pounds to go, but mercy, they are stubborn and I'm tired.
Had a little talk with myself last night, and told self to get busy and get it done. Sheesh, been fiddling around for a whole month trying to lose 2 lousy pounds.
I'm sitting here at the computer when I should be on my way to the treadmill. :) Just had to sit and let that bagel and banana go down. That's my excuse.
Jeanne, how's the moving coming?
Susan, is the week getting any easier for you? I hope so. Otherwise, we'll come up there and help you unpack and tell those teachers how lucky they are to have you there.
Maureen, did you get your computer and TV going? Have you bought those roller blades?
Mimi, Tammy, Dori, farmgirl, POST!
Janelle, I saved you for now----I love the pics you sent! WOW! What a great garden!!! :carrot: I'm so sorry about the hail damage.
Your dogs are great.
Okay, I'm getting off of here to get walking. I lost a pound last week, however, I've got a bad feeling that it crept back on. :o Maybe a lot of exercise will make the scales go in the right direction.
Have a great day!
08-19-2011, 08:29 AM
Good morning ladies! New furniture & indoor outdoor carpeting coming today! Movers tomorrow. Have a great day and talk to you soon!
THINKING of all you!
I am exhasted because David's scraped leg got infected and swollen and red. He went to the Emergency Center where they gave him intravenous antibiotics. He's home with strong pills and with his leg up for a couple more days. I've been cooking, cleaning and going to the store for him.
I ate dessert yesterday and today. Hopefully, my weekly points will suffice.
08-21-2011, 07:08 PM
Ugh...... so much going on and don't feel like doing anything!
They decided that I needed to have a sub for the week and follow my girl to the classes she will have without me. This should be interesting! My assistant decided that she wanted to stay at the other school because it would be easier. Oh well, it will all work out! One way or another.
Tina, that is horrible about David's leg! Poor thing!!! It had to be a bad infection! Take care of yourself and David (Larry too)
Jeanne, well how is the new house? Have you been able to sit down and enjoy it yet?
Maureen, how is your move going?
Tammy, are you feeling a little more perkier?
Janelle, that is terrible about your garden! Mine has died from the heat and we are on watering restrictions.
Pat is still sick!!! It's been a month now. He is on his 3rd round of antibiotics and will hopefully be going to a specialist!!! He just wants to be well. He is down 16 pounds! Wish I was!!!
08-24-2011, 08:02 PM
HI! Didn't go to meeting last night, it was my first grandbaby's birthday! It was way more fun then a WW meeting.
Anyway, hanging in there.
Hugs to all of you with issues, and :carrot: to happy stuffs.
DH has to go have another nuked echo cardiogram next Tuesday. Bleh.
Have a friend who needs, kid friendly and easy WW recipes. She has a set of 2 year old twin boys and 1, 6 year old boy and her DH just deployed to Iraq for a 3rd tour.
I could use some new ones too, so any takers?
It rained!!! :):):)
Last night, there were black clouds all around us and it was lightening. Finally, it started sprinkling and continued for about 15 mkinutes. Then, early this morning, it poured for the longest.
Our temps are still supposed to be 103, 105, & 106. I am soooo thankful for a little rain.
Janelle, I'll look in my recipe box for some good ones for you.
How is everyone doing today???
Janelle, I can't find any recipes for you....sorry!
I'm so glad Irene didn't do as much damage as expected. Of course, New England is getting all the flooding and that's no fun.
How is everyone??????

We've had rain the last 2 mornings. I think a total of 20 drops!!!!
I went back to the dietician. NOT GOOD!!! I'm back at square one! I knew before I went!:o I know I've said it before but I'm getting on track. Then I'm doing something special. Not sure what but I am!!!
School is off and running. I think I'm starting to fall into place. It's still not there yet but it's being. The campus is BIG! Starting on Sept. 12, I'll take 4 of my students off campus to a work location. It will change every 3 weeks. It's new for me so I'm excited about that.
Kind of have a headache tonight! I'm about ready for bed.
