GOOD MONDAY MORNING EVERYONE!
Will post my usual morning post sometime later, but wanted to make sure I got our
MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY done early in the morning, so here's my contribution for MM, I think they are all good, and I hope you read them and in between the lines as well:)
Your dreams are most certainly within your reach. Yet just because they're within your reach does not automatically mean that you'll reach them. It is up to you to move yourself toward them. It is up to you to use each day, each moment, each thought and action to go surely and steadily in the direction you wish to go.
If the place you plan to reach is just a few hundred yards to the north of you, and yet you insist on always walking south, you'll have a very difficult time ever reaching it. Are your actions in each moment moving you toward the place you want to be, or are they moving you away?
There are certain things, wonderful things, positive, valuable and exciting things you intend to accomplish. Right this very moment is the time to be taking clear, definite steps toward them.
Rise above the distractions of the moment and look at the big picture of your life. Give yourself some meaningful perspective and then take a clear, objective look at the direction in which you're headed.
Are you letting the distractions and temptations determine your direction, or are you following your highest vision for what life can be? The sooner you start moving in the direction of your dreams, the sooner you will get there, and now is the perfect time to start.
-- Ralph Marston

THE NEXT HOUR
In just one hour from now, your world can be an entirely different place than it is this moment. You can make it a better place as a result of what you do with this time that you now have. One hour from now, you can be well on your way toward your most treasured dream. One hour from now, you can experience the exhilarating freedom of moving surely and steadily beyond your most difficult challenge.
In just one hour from now, you can be looking back with satisfaction at how much you've been able to accomplish. In just one hour's time, your whole attitude can be a thousand times more positive and productive than it is even now.
Yes, you could spend the next hour wandering aimlessly through a fog of anger, despair or frustration, and if you wish you'll find plenty of excuses for doing so. Or you can really and truly live the next hour with energy and vitality, looking positively forward with the very best you have to give.
The next hour is absolutely critical, for it is the one over which you now have control. You have every reason, every resource and every ability to make it the very best you've ever lived.

Good Monday Morning to everyone! My scale went down again over the weekend even with one meal faux pas that was planned. We had dinner at a friend's place on Saturday night and she is an awesome cook. Last time I went to her place I ended up taking my own meal then was jealous of everyone else! This time I only ate protein all day so that I would be able to eat a decent meal. I even had dessert and it was fantastic. The good news is that it was the one meal and that was it. I call that control when it was planned and I ate earlier in the day in a way to prepare for it. The scale was up only 1/2 pound the next morning and now it is back down an additional pound. :cb:
I know it is Motivational Monday but I really don't have anything officially motivating to say. To be honest, I don't even read the Motivational Messages. I guess as a Christian I find my strength in God and not in myself at all so most of them are void for me. However, for those of you that it works for, that is great!
I guess I will wait and see what everyone has to say this morning and how their weekends went since there were few posts since my last reply. Gotta get back into the Monday groove today and get things re-organized in the house.

Good morning everyone. Well today I finally feel like I've got my life back. Not to say I didn't have one but for well over a year my husband has been out of work, except a part time job over the summer. Today is his first day back at real work. I can't believe it. I'm really going to be alone today. No t.v.'s just me.... LOL I've missed my private time so bad. Yee Ha my husband has a JOB:lol: I still can't believe it... So guess I'll clean house. Thats even exciteing... Alone, alone, alone...... Gee I sound a little crazy. Just remember if you ladies that stay home get bored it could be worse! Hope you all had a great week-end. Here we have a whole week in front of us...
Debilli- You really made me think with your message. I'm going to remember the one hour one. And I think "Within your reach" hits me to a tee and I can really relate to it. Thank you for posting them...
Gracious- Girl you did great at the dinner. Now to me thats the way I want to do my life. Plan for it. Enjoy it and go on. Congradulations on the weight dropping and doing so well with your attitute.
Will come back later....

Happy Monday
Boy they sure get here quick don't they? Most people are off today so hopefully it will be a quiet day.
Got to go shopping Sat nite and got some bargains. 2 pairs of jeans and 3 sweaters for $90. I was happy. Plus the jeans were a size 10. My DH asked me if that was good. I told him yes since they used to be 22's.
Yesterday was spent watching the playoffs all day. Was disappointed that Tenn lost. But my cats sure whooped up on Notre Dame. Why couldn't they have done that to Lou?
Better get posted and get to work:
Fruit, get rid of those clothes. Never to wear them again. 5 bags of big clothes is great. It is such a great feeling. 2 sizes too big is still a great accomplishment. Be proud.
ACW, I think we are all in the same boat, I had clothes in my closet from 12-22, plus ones I had boxed up I have saved for 15 years. I never thought I would get back in them, but I have.
Nomoresugar, Don't say t's cold in Fla, I'm coming down there to get away from the cold.
Melf, glad your DD is situated and happy. Happy for you both. Enjoy your quiet time.
Sweetbeater, congrats on the 2 lbs and the good blood numbers. You will feel much better.
Serene, Come on post the pics, what's a few pics among friends!!
Deb, I think we need to get you some sexy lingerie (probably nothing that was modeled in the fashion show) to keep Eli home. Hope things go ok for your dad.
Aleka, I dont think that bread is legal due to "unbleached", but someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Gracious, I find that your weekend dinner was very motivating. I think that you planned ahead, ejoyed your dinner, and then went right back on track, plus the bonus of losing a pound. That is very motivating. We have to learn how to adjust for those special times and you did just that and showed us it can be done. Thanks. WTG ont hat lb. too.
Toni, I can feel the excitement in your post. Congrats on your DH getting a job. That has to help alot. I can tell you are not looking forward to the weekend, just the week.
Have a great day. Be back later.

Good Monday Morning Everyone:wave:
Still a bit too chilly for me to even want to go out and exercise this morning. Thought I'd do a bit of a clean-up in the house and THEN think about hitting the pavement for the first time since the marathon. I need to get out there and back in to my usual routine but I just HATE when it's cold AND windy!
ELI left a little bit ago to go to work, but luckily, he's off tomorrow. We won't be heading up to Broward at our usual time, or going to the usual place tomorrow since it's LAUREN'S birthday. She loves lobster and we'll be taking her to a place up there that is decently priced after school gets out. The place I took her every year has gotten ridiculously expensive and I got sticker shock last year:yikes: (didn't even ask the price beforehand!)
My eating is better. It got a bit hairy there for a while and as usual, was hard for me to get back on the right track. I know I'm way up on the scale, I don't need to step on the metal monster to see it, I can feel it in my clothes AND my skin. I have re-committed. Not only did I not like what I saw on the scale (and I'm sure it's now worse than it was), but I came to realize, I'm just 2 months shy of my 3 year SB ANNIVERSARY and I surely don't want to be heavier this year than I have since I met my goal weight. It was time to get down to some serious thinking and tighten those reigns!
I would like to recommend a book I had seen reviewed in one of my health magazines which gave it a good review. I got it at the library and I have to say it's well worth reading. If you can get a copy at your local library, please try to reserve it and read it. It has some very good information as well as tips. I'm not recommending it per se for the "diet" content, but for other very useful information. The title of the book is THE SMART WEIGH and is written by PAMELA M. SMITH. I learned some new things from this book that were helpful.
GRACIOUS, good job on getting the scale to go down. Hope I can say the same soon, but I'm NOT stepping on mine until sometime next week, why torture myself?
TONI, hope DH's first day on the job is a good one. The kids Dad got a job as well and is now in training up north of Orlando for the next 7 weeks. Hoping now that he has a paycheck coming we won't be arguing about what he owes me and how he's going to pay me. Enjoy your "alone" time today!!! Glad you liked the MM messages - I printed them out!
JACKK, sounds like you got a few bargains out there AND in a great size! CONGRATS! I bought a new pair of sneaks the other day at Sears, a pair of Avias that were reg. $39.99, on sale for $29.99 and I had a $10 coupon, so basically, I got them half price. I always look for a good deal on sneaks since I tend to go through them quicker than most people. Girl, no sexy lingerie for this body, never have, never will. I like them big and covering all areas. I still wear stuff that's XXL!
SWEET, glad to see you see the benefits of this WOE beyond what you see on the scale. Keep up the great work!!!
ALEKA, the unbleached wheat flour being the first ingred. in the bread makes it not legal. The rest of the ingredients are fine, but the first should read either STONE GROUND, or WHOLE.
NMS, trust me, the gain is there, you may not be able to see it, but I surely feel it in more ways than one. I have no one to blame it on but myself. Only I did this, only I can fix it, and I will!!!;) Were you able to find the agave?
FRUIT, sorry to miss you too, will try again, of course:) We'll have to see what people think, do another get together this year, or plan for next. What's a good time of year where it's not too hot there, as well as good for your schedule?
Well, it's now after 9am here. I'm going to get a few things done and then TRY my best to get my butt out there. If not today, def. tomorrow, as I can't go on Wednesday, have an early meeting for Michael's magnet at school. Of all places, they pic IHOP - ick! Oh well, a glass of water will do me fine.
Sorry not to be able to reply to all the posts from last week, please forgive me. Will try to do better this week when I'm able to get on the computer.
Will check in later!!!

Hi Gang!
We're still in a deep freeze up here! The temps aren't too bad (still below "normal") but it's that dang wind! Actually, even tho it's cold, I had a nice walk to and from DS's school--I was actually getting a little too warm by the time I got back home! That long underwear comes in handy!:D
DEBELLI--THE NEXT HOUR is so true! I had actually intended to do that today. Take it a little bit at a time and it will be amazing what I can accomplish! I always like the MM's you post.
GRACIOUS--Are you still freezing over there? Congrats on the pound lost and for planning your day and getting right back on track.
TONI--I know exactly what you mean about being alone! DH is at work and DS is at school and I'm gonna have FUN cleaning with nobody in the way!
JACKK--WTG on the size 10's! And the great deals shopping! We don't have a holiday in January here (except New Years day). Try not to work too hard.
Time to get cleaning!

Happy Monday! Not! My scale is up and I'm not sure why. One thing I can think of is that I've cut way back on lifting since I started training for the 10K run. I get burnt out on spending so much time exercising. I will crack down on my eating for the rest of the week and see what happens. I've been eating legal, but just too much of it, I'm sure.
Deb--I hope you find time to run today. I hope the birthday dinner for Lauren works out well. How old is she? I will look for that book,
Jackie-Could you share how you eat--you are losing so much weight, I just wondered how you do it. Size 10's--woohoo!
Toni-I can totally understand what you are saying about having your dh home all the time. I'm glad things are working out.
Gracious-WTG on the weight loss even with the one Off Program dinner. You are really doin it.
Susanne-I like your attitude-just dress warm and go out in the weather. Don't let a little cold keep you cooped up.

Hi there everyone,
For those who remember me please do not faint! It has been a long time since I have posted but that does not mean I have not peeked at the board from time to time, sounds like you all are doing great! As I noted before this site is a great place with wonderful caring support!
As some of you already know I am getting divorced after 25 years of marriage. I celebrated my 50th birthday in October and 10 days later my husband told me he did not want to be married anymore. Things had not been good for some time and I guess I was in a state of denial and that it was a tolerable marriage. I realize now that marriage should not be tolerable, so I guess he did me a favor. I feel stronger now than ever before and with the support of my family and friends I feel that I will be fine! My weekend in Orlando with my sugarbuster buddies was incredible! It was better for me than hours of counseling with my therapist, what an incredible, caring group of women! DEBBIE, SONYA, TRISH, LYN, MARY, WENDY, SABRINA, VESNA, GAIL, thank you all so much for making me laugh, letting me talk and generally just letting me relax and have a great carefree weekend!!!!!!!! You all are wonderful and I am so grateful to have met you guys, thanks again!
Now to the weight business, I must confess that I had fallen off the wagon and have restarted today on my sugarbusting journey. The past few months I have not gone crazy with my eating , I still manged to lose another 12 pounds due to the stress, but I have not been eating enough of the right things and have been skipping meals, so send the sugarbusting wagon this way please!
I promise to stay focused and post more often, I am hoping to move into a rental home in the school district that my daughter is in now, so pray that I find something I can afford. When we divided up th household goods I am getting the computer, so I will be able to stay in touch!
Take care all and have a great week!
chris
P.S DEBBIE, loved the motivational quote, I can really relate and will print it out and frame it for my new place! Also thank you so much for all the phoine calls checking on me, James Taylor's song "You've got a friend" comes to mind, thank you for being my friend!

Jack-K- Thanks! You are a sweetie!
Fillise- How long will you be in Montgomery? Will we be able to get up-to-the-minute info from you? :)
Fruitloupe- LOL! Lack of clothing can definitely work as a motivator!
ACW- How many little ones do you have? What are their ages? Sounds like you’ve got your hands full! What a joy a large family can be!
Melf- Congrats on getting DD moved back to her own place! I had to spend a few months living with my mom and dad a couple of years ago (before dh and ds). Boy, was I glad when I was finally able to move back out! I can imagine the relief both of you are feeling.
Sweetbeater- WTG! Overall health is the best goal to have on any WOE and you sure are achieving that!
Deb- At first I thought you meant Eli got a watch with SugarBuster’s logo on it. I had to think for a minute about why StarBucks would give him that J Love the “One Hour” MM! I think I’ll be printing that one and posting it by my desk. Could actually help me stay motivated to actually WORK while here ;)
Toni- So glad your dh is back at work! My dh is in the process of finding full-time work with normal hours. He does shift work now, so I never see him! Guess we have opposite problems :D
Well, I must get my booty in gear and accomplish something today. I really think our office should be closed today! We're the only church in town open! My dh and ds are home having all the fun and I'm off to get pricing on printer cartridges. Not fair!
:sorry:

HELLO GANG!!
BOB here...home today after not sleeping again last night! I went to bed at my normal time and started tossing and turning, couldn't get situated, turned the TV back on just in time to see THE BUCS arrive back in Tampa to seven to ten thousand people waiting for them at the stadium!
Finally went to sleep around 5 a.m. and then the damn clock went off  and I called the boss to say NO WAY!!! Now, I'm fighting sinus yuckies...
Glad to hear that everyone had a good weekend..It was cold here, but I like the crispiness in the air!
My eating continues to be good...could be better, but I'll get back 100% soon..I'm going to take advantage of today and get some things cooked up for the week..
Haven't looked at the pictures yet, but I'm sure they are something to see! I've seen Debbie's night wear, and believe me, I could easily use one of hers if I forget mine! She's comfortable though and that's what counts! For those of you who have never been as large a lady as Debbie was, and I still am, you just can't get away from the past in certain things! Sometimes for comfort, sometimes head games!
HELLO to EVERYONE  I'm off to get my cooking started..

Well actually, it was morning when I sat down to start this post, but you know what they say about the best laid plans. Had a terrific week-end. The weather was beautiful and it was great to get out and do a few things but not be too pressured. Eating was good and I'm happy to say that the Orlando extra pounds are gone as of this morning.
I'm one of the lucky souls that had to get up and leave their family snoozing bed and go to work this morning. I guess I shouldn't complain too much, though. Joe got a call last night that one of the EMS crews had been involved in an accident so he had to go check that out. He didn't get home until well after midnight. It was a hit and run and did about $50-60,000 in damage to the ambulance. Fortunately, no one was injured seriously and they didn't have a patient on board at the time.
I guess I better get to work now.
See ya later,
Trish
P.S. BKM I'm so glad to see you back on the board.

Greetings all.....last week of school holidays...hooray!!! Have arranged more preschool hours so hope to have more "me " time. It has become #1 priority. It has been so hard to take control of my life and eating witht the extra stress of school holidays. Am looking forward to really taking control. Even a trip to the supermarket is a nightmare with the kids!
Am planning to start walking once school back and am on the lookout for a walking buddy at present.
Eating very erratic over weekend. Often is when DH home throws all the routines out. Lots of nibbles of naughty things! I know they'll all come back to haunt me on WIW!
Debelli - very inspiring words. I will print them out and put them where I can see them.
Mom2Marsh - I have 3 children- Braden 6, Rebecca 2 1/2 (seems like 22 some days!), and Keighley (1 on 24th). So yes it is very busy around here. Have just increased Rebecca's preschool hours to 1 1/2 days per week so this will make a huge difference to my sanity. DH works long hours so he's home after the two little ones are in bed most nights and often gone before they're up in a.m. He has 3 days off a fortnight but never 2 days in a row so I'm pretty much it most of the time. No wonder I feel depressed!!!
Have a good day all I'm going to look for something motivational to post later!
Anna:)

I am sooo disgusted with myself right now. All last week, I was good with this WOE and even started exercising. But I didn't loose anything- so Saturday I go and blow it and eat Mexican food and I ate everything illegal- AND then I went to a birthday party and pigged out:ink: I had LOTS of chips,cake,dip,cookies-you name it. But did I stop there? NOOOO- I had to eat myself sick with Taco Bell last night. I woke up this morning and I knew right away that I was puffy- my eyes hurt. Can't even wear my wedding ring and my eyes look like slits in my puffy face. The damage-6 pounds! I still can't believe it-why in the world did I do this? I have been drinking water like crazy today, and I've only peed 2 times. Okay, I'm thru wallowing in self pity- no one to blame but myself. On another note, I bought the Walk Away The Pounds for Abs tape- did the 1st tape(1 mile) and it was easy, and I managed to get my heart rate up and sweating a little. I'm gonna do tape 1 for the next couple of days and then I'm going to start on tape 2.

Well I've had a great day by myself... Got all my housework done by nine o'clock. I have a turkey cooking in the oven and I laid down and read a book. Or part of one. Haven't done that in ages. Hope my DH had a good first day back at work...
Jack-K- Guess I'll like the week-end now since I know Monday will be a work day. I'm sure he's happier having someone to talk to but me... I'll be totally boring to him...LOL....A big congradulations on those size ten jeans. Woo hoo new clothes!!!
Zanne- I forget what state do you live in? Its really cold here and we're getting more snow Wednesday.
linworthlady- I'm having trouble with my weight to. I think I might have to give up carbs for a week or two...
BigKnightsMomma- Oh its so good to see you posting. I'm so sorry you've had such a rough time. I'm on my second marriage and divorce is never easy. You belong here with all us crazy ladies so just keep on comin' Sounds like you've lost the weight the hard way STRESS. Anyway happy to have you back!!!!
Mom2Marsh- I was surprised my DH got on days. It was more than we could have hoped for. He worked nights allot and I didn't like it...But just having a job is a miracle.
Bob- Oh don't you just hate those toss and turn nights. They drive me crazy. And why is it you always want to go to sleep at 5. What the hecks the difference betweet 2 A.M and 5. I know three precious hours of sleep. Hope you get a really good nights one tonight..
VR- Hope you have a good work day...
Trishloo- Oh no you had to work too.. Hope it was a good day...
acw- Wow sounds like you have your hands full with little ones. Its hard to learn to eat the right way when so busy. But one good thing they'll learn good eating habits through you...
Gatorgal- Just a big howdy...
Well I'm off. Hubby should be home from work soon... Oh gosh its nice to say that... Till tomorrow....

Good afternoon all,
Been pretty busy all day and now it's time to go home. Had kilbasa (sp) & sauerkraut planned for dinner but my stomach has been upset all day so don't know if I can eat that for dinner. Couldn't eat my lunch so I went and got some tomato soup at a deli and I felt better after that. Boss is sick today. Hope I'm not catching it.
It's a little warmer here today, 32. So I guess we will try to walk tonight.
Deb,send my bet wishes to Lauren for a wonderful birthday. Which one is it? 15? I'm sure you can get back on track. You have the best determination of anyone I've seen. You'll be below that wt before your 3 yr anniversary.
Zanne, glad you are dressing warm for that walk to school. THe wind was bad here yesterday too. It cuts right through you.
Linworth, I probably don't eat as good as others on the board. I don't watch my fats. Usually bf is eggs and bacon or just egss, sometimes oatmeal. aruond 10:30 i eat an apple (this morning I had yogurt), lunch is usually a salad with ham and cheese in it & blue cheese dressing)& a piece of fruit. DInner is steak, chicken, hamburger and ususally 2 or 3 veggies. Snacks are cheese and nuts.
BKM, When I heard you were at the weekend, I said I hoped you got back on the board. I am so sorry to hear about your divorce. That is so scary after 25 years. I too turn 50 next month and have been married 30 years so I don't know what I would do. Hope things turn around for you. You are a strong person, you can do this. Yuo are right, marriage shouldn't be tolerable. Anyone I know that has gone thrugh a divorce has lost a lot of wt, I always said that if SB didn't work this time, I was getting a divorce just to lose wt (but I was only joking). But that's not the best way to do it. We are glad you are back with us and we are here for you anytime you need a shoulder. You are in my prayers.
Mom2Marsh, some of us have to keep the world going. I just hate it when DH and kids are home and I have to work.
Bob, sorry you are feeling poorly and didn't get any sleep. Hope tonight you sleep like ababy. Get back 100% before I come after you.
VR, have a good day even though you are working.
Trish, WTG for shedding the Orlando pounds. Now keep on going. How tragic about the accident. Glad no one was hurt.
ACW, boy you do have your hands full. Don't see how you even have time to eat. Glad you are getting more time for you.
Gator, Hi and have a great day.
Heartmom, if we knew why we do the things we did, we all would be skinny. Brush yourself off and start again. Good for you doing those tapes. Aren't the fun?
Toni, sounds like you had a great "me" day. Your DH will have to much to talk about tonight. Enjoy.
Have a great evening everyone.

Just checking in again- I'm on my 11th BIG glass of water- I finally started peeing a little. I got hamburgers on the grill. Only 1 bun for me,probably shouldn't have that-oh,well-at least's it's legal. Feeling a little better than earlier today. Thanks for the words of encouragement Toni and Jack-k. Yes, with this WOE, you can easily get right back on track after a weekend fiasco like I had.

Jack-k - being so busy is part of the problem some days I don't seem to have time to eat! I end up grabbing whatevers handy which often isn't good for me or missing and realising at 6.30 at night I haven't eaten since breakfast and then eating too much because I'm hungry! I'm trying to plan ahead so there's something there in the fridge or cupboard but it's hard to even do that when the kids are all home. At least we have good weather at the moment and they can run around outside but I can't relax the same. I need some space to just sit down and read a good book!
Catch you later

Hi,
I went shopping yesterday for a Le Sport Sac bag. They are feather light and I thought that might me good for my next trip. I also looked for a small take on the plane roll about. These people are very proud of them since one I priced was over $400. I quickly passed that one up. I just need one about 15 inches, so , I will continue to look for something a lot more reasonable in price. $400 indeed!!!! Too bad Deb isn't here to find me one at a garage sale. She is the Queen bargin bunny,
One good note was that I was trying on jean shirts at Eddie Bauer and the sales person actually said the smaller size was more flattering...yeah! a medium. It did not take me long to make the decision that, yes, the smaller size was much better. HA!
Jack-K: I always love your posts because you are so encouraging and helpful to everyone.
Melf: I am happy that your family is getting settled into their own spaces. I feel somewhat guilty about your shoulder because I feel you stressed it coming all the way over to my terminal to say goodbye to me. It was very much appreciated but I hate it that your shoulder is now hurt. I think I may know why you thought I would have red hair. My litter avatar girl has red hair. What do you think?
Trish: Congrats for getting the pounds tamed after the trip.
BKM: Sorry to hear you so sad. Way to go in getting the computer to keep in touch with us!
Deb: My husband is crazy over the avocadoes and the BBQ sauce.
Wendy: I only will okay the lingerie shot if I don't look like a cow in the picture. That robe did not give a very flattering angle....anywhere.
I know this is short but I must run. Bye for now.

Three days of being "good!" Maybe it's the cold weather but I have little or no appetite and am going with that flow!
Toni - Congrats on your dh having a full time job again. I do know what it is like to have them around all the time. We have been retired for 4 years now and he is my shadow! I keep busy and he is a couch potato. He does go out on Monday and Tuesday nights - which are MINE! I love being alone in my home - as long as he comes back!!!
Jack-K - Size 10 is pretty thin!! Are you going to try for size 8?????
Debbie - Those northern gals don't realize that we freeze here when it gets below 60!!! And it is cold again tonight. Where do you go for decently priced lobster - there is a Chinese place in Sunrise that has great prices. And I think they honor birthdays in some way. I will be getting the agave at Whole Foods in Boca on Thursday - they were out of it last week!
BigKnightsMomma - Glad to meet you! I am so sorry you have to go through a rough time - but as you said - the gals here are here for you! Where is Palm City? I'm in Boynton.
Keep SBing gals - see you tomorrow!

Hi Friends! Well, I'm already behind in the reading. But I just wanted to check in and wish everyone a fabulous week. It was nice having this Monday off. Paul and I ran errands and I ended up at the bead store again. This new hobby is really addicting. Tonight I finished a gift for a friend's birthday tomorrow. Then halfway through that I thought of another design and had to start and finish that too.
Hope you are all well. We've been rearranging rooms in our house. We now have our bedroom and office on the second floor so that's MANY more trips up the steps. I think I hear my thighs screaming. Ha! Actually, got out my Leslie Sansone tapes today and got moving to one of them. I'm so out of shape I pooped out before finishing the two-mile. Ugh!!! Boy, there's some serious work ahead of me. But at least I got to a mile and a half. Have any of you seen her new infomercial. Those new tapes certainly look tempting and the price seems okay. If any of you have ordered them, please let me know what you think.
Oh heck, I hope nobody thinks that last paragraph was a commercial. Oops! It wasn't meant that way.
Listen, have a great week. I have a big day this coming Saturday. A new tutor training class (newly revised by me) and I'm a bit nervous that it will flop. I have 19 people registered for it, which is a good number. Wish me luck!
I'll be out tomorrow night and Wednesday, so don't know if I'll have time to check in. If not, please know that you all are in my thoughts.
Later,
Kim

Another day and I am actually up a couple of pounds this morning! I am shocked because although I ate a little too much dinner yesterday, it was legal homemade tacos on SGWW tortillas. I am hoping some big water consumption today will flush me out. Strange isn't it? The way we eat legal and gain but sometimes eat off plan and don't. Messes with the mind! I know it is just that daily fluctuation thing but since I am a slave to daily weighing I will use it to my advantage and keep extra strict today.
JACK-K- I am always so motivated hearing about your progress. Going from a Size 22 jeans to Size 10 is awesome!! I still can't fit my..shall we say..voluptuous butt and thighs into a Size 10 pair of jeans. Dresses and skirts sure, but not jeans. Hopefully my time will come since that is my goal!!
TONI- How wonderful that your hubby got a job. Being a stay at home mom I can totally relate to what you were saying. My hubby is a Pastor and usually studies at the church but sometimes he says he is going to work at home. He works on the computer so I can't get on, he hangs around wanting to take a break and drink coffee with me which slows down my cleaning, etc...it is never the same! Even at the end of his vacations I say okay dear, time to get back to work! I am sure you are enjoying your freedom at home. How did his first day go?
BKM-Sorry to hear about your situation. It is good to have friends and family around to help you get through this and you sure have a bunch of great friends from this SB Board according to the weekend photos.
DEBELLI- I know you will reach your goal again in time for your 3rd Anniversary. This is just one of those times when there are bumps in the SB road for you. You will get over them and keep going like always! You are the queen SB'er!!
ACW- Three critters are an armload, that is for certain, I have 3 myself. They were one of the major motivators for me to lose weight in the first place. I wanted to be able to play with my kids and do things with them as they grew up. I also didn't want my kids to be embarassed to be seen with me. Now my boys always tell me I am beautiful and my daughter is a carbon copy of me and always has people telling her that. She tells me she is proud to have them say that and that makes me feel really good! Keep up your good work because it will pay off in the end for you and them. I think a lot of it is getting into the habit, at least it was for me.
ZANNE- Yes, it is still freezing here too. I heard this morning on the radio something about it being -30 celcius wind chill again. At least that is warmer than the weekend with -35! Did you get your ice rink made yet??
I better post this before it freezes on me.

Glad that worked. I just wanted to add something...
MONET- I was thinking about you too and wondered where you got off to. Is everything okay? How are things with your daughter and that guy who was hanging around?
YELLOWROSE- Congrats on the Medium!! I know that Medium makes me feel so much *skinnier*. Hearing comments like that from the salesperson is inspiring isn't it?
Okay, off to clean clean clean. I have 15 people coming for an evening Bible Study tonight. This happens every Tuesday and it started last week. I used up Christmas cookies from the freezer for them last week but I have to figure out what I will be serving tonight. Have a great day!

Good Tuesday moring,
Went home last night still feeling icky. After dinner, DH insisted we take our walk. I sure didn't want to go, but he insisted he was going even w/o me. So I went and of course I was glad I did. I really didn't even mind it. It seemed to go quickly. In fact I felt better afterwards. Then we worked out for 30-45 minutes. Then I got to veg out on the couch and watch Joe Millionaire. He even fixed his own lunch.
Heartmom, Don't stray far, when all that water hits, it gonna hit hard. Good job.
ACW, I guess my advice for you would be to stock up on legal things, veggies, cheese, etc. I think lunch is the hardest meal, especially when I'm at home on the weekends.
Yellow, have you tried a Target or Wal-Mart for the roll-around? I think some place like that should have them fairly cheap. WTG on the med shirt. Doesn't that make you feel good. Nice sales clerk. Thanks for ths weet words.
NMsugar, Yeah for you 3 days OP. Even if yu don't have an appetite, try to eat. You don't want your body to think it is in starvation mode. You won't lose that way. Yes, size 8 is my goal.
Quilter, Good luck on your class. I'm sure t will be wonderful. I saw the info commercial for those tapes too. I just got the 3 mile, the old one. That figures as soon as I get something they come out with something new. I think I'll stick to the old one. I prefer the wts over that band she is using now.
Gracious, that daily fluctuation thingy is a killer. Maybe the meal was just heavy. Get it 24 hours and I bet you are down. I can't get on that scale everyday. Once a week is nerve wracking enough. Those 10's are a little snug, but I hope to get them loser soon. One mof my co-workers just told me that the pants I have on today are too big. It's a good feeling, but don't want to go out and buy more just yet.
Anyone doing chat tonight????
Got to get my day started. Be back later. Have a great one!

Happy Tuesday that feels like a Monday to me.
Toni-What are you having with your turkey? I am planning to make one this weekend for my inlaws, andr I would like to avoid all the high carb side dishes. How was dh's job?
Laurie-Don't worry about your slip up--just get right back on the wagon (easier said than done though, at least for me). I like your devil.
Jackie-I hope you are feeling better. Thanks for sharing your typical food day. It sounds like you eat like I do--except I eat more, I think. I am going to try not to eat too much this week.
Anna-It's so hard with the 3 little ones to get anything done I'm sure. I guess you just need to plan ahead. It sounds like you do have fun with them by getting outside and to the parks. I really really miss my young family.
Lyn-WTG on the medium. Don't you love when you can buy smaller clothes? What BBQ sauce-can you share?
Nomoresugar-LUcky you to not be hungry!! Have you warmed up yet?
Kim-Your new hobby sounds like so much fun! Did you take a class? Keep going on the tape--I'm sure you will get to 2 miles soon.
Gracious-You voloptuous thing you!! I know exactly what you mean about dh being around too much. We get along better when dh is working in his office at work. I don't even lije him coming home for lunch :) I hate the evil scale! That is so sweet of your kids to tell you that you look great. I'm sure that means a lot coming from the kids.

Good morning everyone. Made a nice turkey last night for dinner. Took it all off the bone and put it in containers and froze part of it. It will be nice to have the meat packaged and cooked. So DH went today with his favorite a turkey sandwich. Boy was he tired last night after that first day back at work. Of course that meant him and the dog snored all night.. LOL.... Let me tell you its funny now but wasn't in the night. But I was plenty tired. I did allot more yesterday than I've been doing because I was alone. Trying to back off the starchy carbs and give myself a push. I'm hopeing this new getting up earlier and spread my meals out father is going to help...
Jack-K- Sorry you aren't feeling well. Hope today is a better day.... We were warmer yesterday to, it sure helped to thaw things out. Today the wind is blowing and its supposed to be colder the rest of the week getting down to 5 on Thursday. I just hate they're calling for snow to this week.
Sounds like we eat allot alike. Except I have pork rinds as a snack. Wonder if those aren't good for me? Wow and you got a walk in. Great hubby..
heartmom- Hope you have a good OP day. Sometimes you have to take an hour at a time... Isn't that crazy.... It is sooo hard to climb back on. But you can do it...Cause you are one strong lady.....
acw- Hope you get some of those legal foods so you can grab something and not get so hungry. When I do that I can't seem to get full...Good luck on your day...
Yellowrose- Yippee on the smaller size.. Thats such an encouragment...
Nomoresugar- Good for you three days OP, you're on a roll.... keep up the good work....
The Quilter- Okay now I need pictures of this jewlery... Its getting to sound way to neat and I'm dying of curiosity!!! So you quilt and now make jewlery. I am far to jealous of you!!!!
gracious- That has to be water gain. And it will probably be off in a day or two. You're doing so good. Yikes taco's are my favorite food....Hope your bible study went well.
Guess I'll finish up here and then hit the treadmill. Have a great day....

I'm baaaaaaaaack!!!!!
No, I wasn't hiding...LOL... I'm sure someone out there remembers me talking about having surgery :) Heck, even my mom didn't remember till my DH called and told her I was home and resting!!! Sheesh!
I'm feeling much better than I have for the last week, but boy have I been BAD!!! They ended up doing more than they thought they would... and I ended up with a cath for a week, and I felt SO BAD about it and about myself, that I just ate whatever I wanted for the whole week! Got the cath out yesterday... celebrated with a HUGE BBQ Chicken stuffed baked potato because I wanted to get it all out of my system.... and today... MY ONE YEAR SB ANNIVERSARY... I am back on track!
One year ago today, I woke up and just started SB... no planning, no nothing... I just wanted to lose weight. Today I'm feeling good that I can do it again... just like I did then.
The scale is up SEVERAL (like almost 10) pounds from my all time low since starting SB... and I'm tired of losing those pounds twice!
Of course I know some of it is from the surgery and things, but most of it is MY DOING. I am back in focus!!!
One year ago... I was a miserable size 22 and hating myself. I'm now a SNUG 14 but much happier with myself, and ready to move on. I've been in a 14 for more than 6 months... I think the 'new' of being thinner is over now and I'm ready to get smaller. I think this anniversary is just what I needed to re-motivate myself.
Sorry I haven't been able to catch up on posts, but I couldn't even sit up for a week... Hope everyone is doing well...
I'll be catching up from here on out... still can't sit in a chair for long amounts of time, so I won't be on as much for a while... but I'M HERE :)
Have a great Tuesday :) Tomorrow is DH's birthday, I have GOT to go shopping!!!
Bye!!!

Good morning everyone. Boy, what a difference a day makes (sounds like a good song title, huh) in the weather here in Texas. Yesterday was an absolutely beautiful clear crisp morning. Today it is so foggy, you can hardly see in front of your face. We got a new vehicle a couple of weeks ago, and I was scared to death this morning that someone was going to hit me.
Yesterday morning before I went to work, I put a roast in the crockpot for dinner. Last night's dinner was roast, brown rice and salad. It was very yummy. I went to Curves and worked out, then my neighbor wanted to walk, so I got in a 40 minute walk as well. Here's hoping that tomorrow's WIW will reflect some of that. I made oatmeal for breakfast but ended up with half of it bubbled over in the microwave. What a mess. I guess that's one way to make sure I didn't eat too much.
Toni, congrats on the DH getting a new job. I know that mine would be driving me crazy if we were together all the time. I love him dearly, but you know what they say about too much of a good thing. The turkey sounds good. I looked at them at the grocery store on Sunday, but they were pretty expensive for some reason, so I passed. Turkey carcasses also make a wonderful stock.
Jack-K - Woohoo on the size 10's. When do we get to see a picture????
Debbie - Glad Eli made it home safe and sound. Be sure and give everyone, especially the birthday girl, a big hug from me.
Zanne - Stay warm! Do we have an update on the ice rink?
Linworth - I know what you mean about eating too much of a good thing. That was something that I know I've doing. When is your 10K run? There is one here in April that I've never done before, but would really like to try. That was one of my goals from last year.
Chris - I'm so glad to see you back on the board. Please know that we're here for you whenever you need to vent about anything (or anyone).
Kat - I may have missed it, but what part of Florida are you in? I know what you mean about leaving everyone at home in bed yesterday. The only good thing was at least the traffic wasn't too bad and DH cleaned up the kitchen for me.
BOB - GO BUCS!!!! I'm so glad they beat Philadelphia. Actually as a Cowboy fan (yes go ahead and laugh, it's not easy these days), I'm glad when anybody beats Philly. Hope you got some sleep last night.
ACW - You do have your hands full. I just love the names you chose for your children.
Gail - Good morning to you.
Heartmom - Who knows why we sabotage ourselves. Most of us have been exactly where you are. That's part of what makes this board great.
Lyn - Sounds like we might need a road trip to the outlet mall pretty soon.
Ruth - Just how cold is it in your neck of the woods?
Quilter - You must be the most creative person. When do we get to see some pics of the new jewelry? Are you going to be selling it or are you just doing it for fun. Good luck with your class. I'm sure you'll do great.
Gracious - Isn't it frustrating when the scale goes up when you know you've been eating right. For some reason, it takes a couple of days for changes to show up. Maybe that's what's going on with you. Also, those tacos might have been a little heavy on the sodium (especially if you used a pre-packaged mix of some sort).
Beth - So glad to see you back. Happy anniversary!!! You've really done great. Keep it up.
Whew, well, I think I'm caught up now. Hope everyone has a great day.

BKM--So glad to see you posting. Sorry to hear you're going thru some stressful times. Sounds like the SB weekend was just what you needed. Try to keep strong. You'll be just fine.
HEARTMOM--Don't be to hard on yourself. You got back OP AND did the tape! Hooray for you.
TONI48--I'm not in the States. I'm around Toronto, Canada. Still cold here today, but lovely and sunny.
YELLOWROSE--WTG on the medium. What a nice compliment from the salesperson.
NOMORESUGAR--It's cold way up here, but I know you Florida girls are cold too. My inlaws have a "winter"place in West Palm Beach and got up to 60 degrees INSIDE the house yesterday. That's cold! Our bodies get used to a particular climate I guess.
QUILTER--My FIL took jewelry wrapping classes last winter and has made me some beautiful stuff. He actually sold a lot of his stuff and made a nice bit of pocket change! Maybe you can make a career change!
GRACIOUS--Your gain is probably water. It should come off soon. I know it's difficult, but try to NOT get on the scale every day. Still cold here, but nice and sunny. Rink STILL is NOT done. DH hurt his back and can't move too well and I need him to help me lay the plastic. Plus it's been windy too. I may attempt it myself today if the wind stays down. Try to keep warm over there!
BETH--I've been wondering where you've been. Didn't realize the surgery was so soon. Hope all is ok. Happy SB anniversary! You've come a long way.
TRISHALOO--I'm staying warm. I actually prefer the really cold but sunny days to the days where it's hovering around freezing but dull, rainy or wet snow and yuck. Rink still not done. See reply to GRACIOUS.
MONET--we're wondering where you are???
I better get out of here and do something!
Bye for now!

Morning Every Buddy!
I'm home again today, with a stomach bug! This hit me late yesterday and believe me, you don't want it! No front or backend motion, but my belly is downright sore. It feels like
I've had the dry heaves for 3 days!
I couldn't get warm last night, and had the thermostat up to 77  , and for those of you who know me, I'm a hot blooded Mama! I just couldn't get warm, chills , temp of 101 degrees.
I'm a little better this morning, but the sore belly is still there..I've got a call in to my Drs office to see if there is anything I can do, or if I just have to wait it out!
My sleeping sucked last night too...seems like I did get some sleep, but in short intervals...I finally had to get up a 3 am and take another restless leg pill...
Ok...enough belly aching from me...Have a good day everyone.
There is a place in my area that sells Agave Nectar! It's an organic grocery store called My Organic Market and for you MD residents out there, there are 2 locations: one in Rockville on Parklawn Drive and another in College Park. The bottles are small and a bit pricey, but IMO it'll be worth it. Man I thought I was going to have to call every specialty store in town, but luckily I thought to check out MOM. I might still check some other places, but at least I know of ONE place that sells this stuff! Whoo Hoo! :dancer:

Well, I ended up drinking 16 big glasses of water yesterday. I know with other people, they would have been in the bathroom all day, lol. I look and feel a little better today. The scale was down 3 pounds-so 3 more to go. I'm baking a ham for supper with greens and sweet potatoes. I know that I better not eat but a slice or 2 of the ham, because of the salt content and added sugar. I've had it in the freezer forever... Anyway, the weather here is crazy- the other night the low was 12 and the high's only in the 30's. Today it is muggy and in the 60's. I'm going to do my WATP tape 1 in a little bit. I honestly think I could do tape 2 with no prob- but I'll stick with tape 1 for at least another day. Okay, fixing to go make me a chef salad..

It's been one of those weeks. You know you are eating right doing right and the scales still go up. Two steps forward one step back. :) It truly think at times I am destined to be stuck here. Which isn't bad..just not where I want to be. I hope I don't sound like I'm complaining cause I'm not. Like so many of you I remember where I was at two years ago and I thank God everyday for not only being thinner but stronger physically.
Beth....welcome back. I hope you continue to recover from the surgery. You will do great and have done great going from a 22 to where you are now and where you are gonna end up...what size are you shooting for? When I started I said I would be happy to be a 9...I fibbed...LOL got here and really really really want to be a 6-7...
Jack-K...I sure hope you are feeling better this afternoon.
Bob....sure hope you start feeling better soon.
Trish....we didn't have the fog this morning...but man did we have some wind. It's hard to believe it's 78 degrees right now. I wouldn't be surprised if we hit 80 before the day is over. But with the cold front on the way that is gonna make tomorrow and the next day feel soooo cold.
Welcome Disneyblonde!!!!
Heartmom....that is a lot of water...LOL I would have been the bathroom queen. Is there a reason you retain so much of it? Salt hormones? I hope I'm not being too nosey.
Zanne...excellent advice on not weighing every day...but it's one of those things...I am so drawn to the scales...I won't say how many times I weigh a day...but never less than once. :)
Toni...I love turkey..send some down my way. :) I have a giant 22 pounder in the freezer just waiting on my lazy hinney to cook it. Since I'm the only one that really likes it I think it might last forever..LOL
Lin...it really does feel like a Monday. Then again I kept thinking yesterday was Tuesday....
Well I think I am gonna get off of here and enjoy a walk while the weather is nice. Sorry to those I missed. I have read and enjoyed every post.

Hi all.. Just wanted to check in and tell you I turtled..That means I stayed the same. which in my book is ok...And I am proud of myself, I am still not playing the weigh in game,..I ate, drank coffee, went to Curves and then weighed in...Had a nice Tops meeting, and am home now thinking about lunch...Will exercise more, drink more water, eat more protein, watch the carbs, and weigh less next week. It will be a challenge..My dd ishome from Louisana on leave. we are going to do some celebrating but I will prepare for it. I will eat sparinly that day, drink water, etc then enjoy my night out with my dd's.
Everything else going good, Planning on making a quilt for a fellow tops member that is going thru some serious cancer. I found 4 other quilter in the group so I challanged them to make me 5 blocks. And I will turn around, put them tog and we will give it to her.. I really like this group of women, it is very funny to be around such old people..but it is nice since my mom lives so far away..I must tell her all about it...
Toni...I totally relate to how you feel about haveing the house to yourself. My husband was hit with a wrecking ball 9 years ago, up until last year, he was always home, always..I hate it.. I never had the house to my self..last year he decided to join a vet group and now he leaves some times..He has taken some mini vacations (4 to 6 days) and boy do I enjoy my house when he is gone..
Jack-K..Size 10 jeans!!! that is a beautiful size!!! congradulations on size 10 and all the savings.Your dh is funny!!! saying is that good!!!
Chris:;; sorry to hear bout your divorce..I am glad you go to visit with the SB girls...Don't give up on your eating, you can do it..
To everyone else I didn't get to respond to, have a great Tuesday..(it is still such a surprise to me how many people are on this site, and how much we post..) the neat thing, is that there are so many people at goal here..That is totally amazing,a nd good instentive to us who need to lose..Thank you for being here, and thank you for posting..We all need to know that there are people out there that have succeeded..Know what I mean??

They went on sale after Thanksgiving for only .19 cents a pound...*smile*...and for less than 5 dollars that's quite a few meals. You should see how many spiral cut hams I have in the freezer...you know the ones that usually are around 1.99 a pound. They went on sale for .59 cents a pound after Christmas. I have 9 of them in there I think. I cooked one the other day and it feed the six of us three meals and made several lunches for hubby. And the bone made a huge pot of beans. I won't need hams for the next year or so...LOL You wouldn't believe the bargins I have tucked away in the freezer. :D

Just a quick post to say I am still completely 100% OP and going strong - my skirt that was getting snug is fitting very loose - making me very positive about it all - and I have bronchitis - chest xray showed no pneumonia - still coughing -so back to drs again tomorrow - they prescribed a form of prednisone and all it did was make me sick on my tummy...ugghhhh...but instead of worrying about that all, I am focused on diet and health and I am reading a fascinating new book called the Insulin Resistant Diet - and it is really informative....
I am at work and it is crazy - so cannot post a normal one...

Well, Jack-K I'm glad to see that you got your walk in last night. We must have been walking at the same time. My DH and I both arrived home last night at 9:15 and he announced that he wanted to take a walk. Was I surprised!! So, I put on my woolies and we waddled around all bundled up. Walked for 2 miles. He wants to walk tonight too, so will wait for him to get home before I walk. It probably will be another 9 pm. thing, as I have an in-service training thing tonight at 7pm. At least I'm staying pretty faithful to walking almost every day. sually on Tuesdays I don't get to walk at all, so I'm happy he wants to walk tonight.
Monet! Where are you, girl?? We've missed you and your astute observatiions and thorough knowledge of nutrition and cooking.
Well, gotta go. Want to clean up the kitchen and cook dinner before DH gets home, and I want the house to look good before I leave the the meeting tonight. See-ya.

Toni-That turkey sounds good. If you don't mind my asking, what did you have to go with it?
Susanne-What is jewelry wrapping? I'm cheering for you to get the rink done.
Disney-Welcome to the board. That's great to get a week under your belt. Have you peeked at the scales yet?
BOB-Yowser! Whatever you have sounds awful. Are you feeling any better yet?
Dawn=-I bought some agave at the store today too. What are you going to do with yours? The only plans I have is to make cheesecake with it, but I am curious as to how other peoplke use it.
Heart-Glad the scale is dropping. It sure did take a lot of water yesterday!
Crystle-Great that you are a size 9!! I feel stuck where I am too. Somedays I do great and then I will blow it. I am just starved alot of the time, and don't know what to eat. I'm making a turkey this weekend. Too funny about all of your hams.
Trish-The 10K is April 5. I've started out my training slow. But I am running/walking 4-5 days a week. But the scale keeps going up. I've gained 5 pounds since Christmas. :(
Kathy-Enjoy your daughter! I have 2 boys away at college and I do miss them. So sorry to hear about your dh. Is he able to work at all? You sound really motivated to lose--good for you.,
Gator-Enjoy your walks.

Country- I don't know why I have a problem with fluid retention- I've gone to 2 docs and all they say is drink lots of water and avoid salty food,DUH! They won't prescribe me anything. It really sucks at times. As long as I drink gobs of water and watch the salt, I'm okay. But heaven forbid that I slip up and eat something salty or don't drink at least a gallon a day, then I'm all puffy and up several pounds the next day- Oh, refined carbs do the same thing to me.
Right now, I'm on my 10th glass of water- 12 oz. glasses. Yesterday I was drinking 16 oz.glasses---16 of them! I was so tired of drinking water.
Okay guys, I ate my chef salad and was still wanting something so I had a piece of bread with peanut butter on it. I got the Smucker's this time. I'm keeping it OUT of the fridge-it gets too hard that way. Now it's a little soupy, lol. Man, I put the ham in the oven about 45 minutes ago, and it's smelling divine- WILLPOWER,WILLPOWER!!

Whew! I'm exhausted. This has been a wild day. We had a proposal going in on a job and I don't think I sat down more than 1/2 hour all day. Swallowed my lunch whole around 2:45. Now I'm not hungry for supper.
Linworth, I eat a good amout of food. Probably too much. I really try not to eat between meals, but I don't eat lunch until around 1, so I usually have to have a snack around 10:30. All this talk about turkey is making me want to fix one. Just fix veggies along with it and bunches of them.
Toni, sounds like you had a busy day alone. Don't overdo now. Pork rinds are ok. I usually get the hot ones. Helps me drink more water too.I think the high for us will be 15 on Thursday and they are calling for snow here too. I feel fine today. Don't know what it was.
Beth, Welcome back. It is so good to hear from you. Glad your surgery went well and glad it is behind you. Happy anniversary too. What a good day to start back OP. It really is a great accomplishment going from a size 22 to a 14. Be proud of yourself and go on from here. Good luck.
Trish, WTG on the long walk and getting to curves. You are going to be so sexy with all those curves. Roast sounds soo good, just can't eat that brown rice though.
Zanne, hope your DH's back is feeling better soon. They can be such babies. Wait for help on the rink.
Disney Blond, Welcome to our board. This is a great place for support and friendship. One week behind you is wonderful. It gets alot easier after that first week. Glad you decided to join us.
Bob, Hate that you now have a bug. Girl get some sleep and feel better. What kind of pill do you take for restless legs? I have that too and it drives me crazy.
Dawn, I didn't realize you lived in MD, my DSis used to live there and my niece lives in Myersville. She gets me ww hamburger buns b/c I can't get them in KY. So you are lkucky you can get them there.
Heartmom, glad you are back on track and 3 of those pounds are gone. Keep hanging in there.
Country, I know what you mean, I just want to get there and be ble to say I did it and then stay there. I guess we need to develop some patience. Enjoy your beautiful weather. It is 35 here. You are truly a bargain shopper.
Miata, staying the same can be a good thing. Next week will probably be good for you. Glad you are enjoying the tops and curves. How sweet for you to make a quilt for that lady. Men just don't have a clue do they? I can't figure out how they can be so opposite of women. Mars/Venus I guess.
Lauren, Have a great birthday. :gift: :hb: :hat: Don't eat too much lobster.
Tranquil, I'm so proud of you being back 100% OP and being so focused. Hope your bronchitis goes away soon.
Gator, I will head out around 5:30 tonite. I like to walk before it gets dark so I don't trip  I'm such a clutz. Good for you getting your walking in every day.
Linworth, you souldn't be hungry all the time. Maybe you aren't eating enough. Post a day's menu and let some of the knowledgeable people look it over. I hope to be at chat, bubt I don't have the link here at work. Hopefully someone will post it.
CHAT tonite. Deb asked me to remind everyone of chat tonite. She is having trouble getting on the boards and had to run out for the day. SHe asked me to post the link for chat but I don't have it on my computer here at work. Sorry. If anyone else has it please post it. She won't be able to join us due to Lauren's BD.
Good luck to everyone on the scale tomorrow. Hope we have some big losses.

DARN THIS SERVER PROBLEM!!!! I just lost my post!!
Jackie...I use SINEMET which is a parkinson's disease med..I take it every night around 9:30 p.m.
I can set a clock by my legs...when it gets to be 10:00 p.m. and I haven't taken it yet, the legs get to moving!
My Cousin and her Sister(also my cousin) ;) are blessed with the problem too...Scottie takes Klonipin and Ellie takes Trazadone(sp)
This is usually an inherited problem...we got ours from our GM who didn't even know what caused it back then...She sounded like the Boston Marathon at night
Gals, I've got to get back in the bed...this has really got Old BOB by the short hairs!
I'm not working tomorrow either, so I'll check in during the day.

I have missed you all! Have been extremely busy and have been out and about! I think now I will get back to normal.
I want the girls in the car w/ DEB on the way homw from O town that it was great to talk with them all. I was so envious that I couldn't be there to root for our illustrious big D!
I tried to post this yesterday and could not get on the board, am trying again.

Hi, This is rather a long post but I wanted to talk to all of you.
Deb: I hope Lauren had a wonderful birthday celebration. Did she find the lobster to her liking? Lauren is so
lovely and a fine help in the kitchen.
I ordered The Smart Weigh from the library and I am looking forward to reading it. I also checked out The Taste
of Lebanon to read again.
Toni: I , also bought or got free at Thanksgiving two turkeys. We always go to my daughter’s house for the
holiday and I just keep mine until later. It is so much easier to fix the turkey when I do not have the pressure of the
holiday. How is DH’s work going?
Jack-K: How are you feeling these days? Did you get past the icky feeling? Size 10 jeans sounds mighty fine to
me! Congrats. I think Target or Wal-Mart are fine suggestions for the roll about. My daughter will be here this
weekend and we will have fun shopping. Also, it is good exercise. She keeps me moving.
BOB: Here I am awake at 3 am. I was just thinking of you and wondering if you also were awake. Too bad we
can’t predict and chat. Ha.
Heartmon: Sorry about the binge but happy that you are on the right road again. On the walking tape....does it
require a lot of arm work or just legs?
Quilter: My daughter was going to make me a bracelet with a watch face she bought. She got too busy to get it
done for Christmas so we are going to work on it together later. We have done bracelets, ankle bracelets and
earrings together and it is fun to work and talk. A very bonding experience. Rearranging rooms in the house, huh?
That must have been quite some work. I bet you can count the extra stairs as exercise. Tell us more about the tutor
training class.
Gracious: Don’t you just hate it when the scale does not reflect the good work you have done? I do find that I do
my best when I weigh daily. It is when I am out of control that I don’t weigh and don’t want to face facts.
Sometimes just weighing makes me get back on track. Thanks for the good words about my newest blouse.
Linworthlady: The BBQ sauce was some that I brought back from when I visited Florida. We went to one of
BOB’s favorite restaurant and the sauce was so good that I brought it back for my husband. Thank goodness that
Deb put it in a seal a meal because one of the baggies leaked. What a mess that would have been in my luggage.
Thanks for the encouragement.
Beth: Hi to you. How are you feeling now after your surgery? How long will it take to recover? Congrats for
being back on track and your SB anniversary. Did you say that you had to go shopping? I hope it went well.
Trishaloo: WOW are you getting organized with the WOE. A good dinner in the crockpot (I would like the
recipe, by the way) and good exercise. See I could be doing that rather than feeling sorry for myself about what to
do about this collar bone surgery. I guess you know by now that you have to put a little oatmeal in a very large
bowl. I have also had the boil over problem and it is such a mess to clean up. A road trip sounds like fun after I
get this surgery behind me. I’m not much fun right now with that on my mind.
Zanne: I think we are getting some the cold air down here. It was so pretty Monday and now this. The wind is
the worst part. How is you DH doing with his back?
Solshine: Where are you???? Monet?????
Tranquil: I am sorry that you are still sick. Glad to hear about the skirt getting loose, however.
Sef: Next time we need you in the car with us. I would love to meet you in person.

WIW
I am down two pounds this week (after a two week stand still) to the point I was when I was released from the hospital with mono. (I had lost 12 from not eating at all, and being dehydrated, and had regained 5, then bounced back and forth a couple pounds until the holidays, when I gained some. Now I have the holiday pounds off, and the five I regained- and it wasn't easy! :( )
Sorry I have not been posting, though I have lurked some. I have just been busy, and dealing with some issues that were depressing and made me a bit anti social. Thank you, to those who missed me. Not sure when I will be back in full swing, but I am not off the wagon....eating is going great. So is exercise.

Ack. I am still not posting my actual weight, especially since we had left over tacos for dinner last night! I do think they must be loaded in sodium because of this number I see today. But no problem. Keep going and eventually it will too! I hope everyone else does well on WIW.
COUNTRY- I weigh daily but it is very first thing in the morning. I get up, go to the washroom and then hit the scale. I find that if I weigh again later after coffee or breakfast then it is up a couple of pounds. I can't do that to myself! I was always under the impression that the first weigh in in the morning is truest. I would drive myself nuts with multiple weighings throughout the day. But whatever works for each of us is the way to go.
YELLOWROSE- I agree that daily weighing keeps me on track. We are the same it seems because when I am eating poorly that is the only time I don't get on the scale...afraid to face the music, as it were. I hope you got back to sleep and are rested.
SEF- Hi there!
TRANQUIL- Hope you are feeling better soon. Way to go on staying OP!!
DISNEYBLONDE-Welcome to the board! One week down is excellent.
MIATA- Very nice of you to organize all the ladies to do a block and make a combined quilt for the poor dear with cancer. That will truly bring joy to her heart.
That is it for now. I get to relax a little bit today. The house is all cleaned cause I had the Bible Study here last night and I only have to catch up on folding the perpetual laundry. The ladies ended up bringing 4 different kinds of cookies and homemade bread over! Why do they make it so hard on me? But it was a good time anyway!

Happy WIW
Hope the scale is good to everyone. I waved my :wizard: and everyone is going to lose something today. I only hope it's weight and not our minds. :dizzy:
I was down 1 lb. today to a brand new number 162. I just want to get out of these 60's and into the 50's. Never happy are we??
Bob, Hope you are feeling better today. My legs get to hurting at night and I have to move them. As long as I move them it's ok, but I can't keep them still w/o them aching. Is that the same as yours? My mom had the same problem, except hers was a lot worse (that's scary) and she didn't know what it was either.
Heartmom, Maybe you should try those apple cider vinegar tablets that Monet takes for water retention. Sounds natural.
Sef, glad you are back. Sounds like you have been extremely busy. We have missed you.
Yellow have fun with your DD this weekend. SOunds like a lot of fun. Those walking tapes use arms and weights but you don't have to do that. They have a modified version in them also.
Monet, WTG on those 2 lbs and getting rid of all the rest. :cp: Sorry you are having some problems. Remember we are here for you to vent, we don't care if you are anit-social. We'll make you feel better. :grouphug: :goodvibes:
Gracious, I hate that you are retaining water. That has to be the problem. You are right, it will go quickly. Hang in there. WTG on passing up the goodies at the Bible study.
Serene, It was good chatting with you last nite. Hope your day is easier with your boss gone.
Gonna get starated here. Need to work on my wedding list :s: and then I guess I better do some work.

Morning All
Still freezing here this morning. We're hoping the deep freeze will be over this weekend.
I forgot it was WIW when I got up. I'm not going to weigh today anyway cause TOM is here and I know I bloat up.
Just some quickie replies:
DEBELLI--Hope Lauren had a great birthday!
MONET--Good for you for getting rid of those lbs. I hope you're feeling better soon.
YELLOWROSE--DH's back is getting much better. Thanks for asking.
SEF--Glad to see you post!
BOB--Hope you're feeling better real soon.
JACKK--DH's back is getting better. I'm lucky and have one of the few men who is not a baby when he's sick or injured. I actually had to pull in his rens to make him rest!
LINWORTH--Jewelry wrapping is what my FIL told me he was doing. He uses gold or silver wires (or a combo) and twists, twirls and weaves them to make bracelets, rings and pendants. My fave that he has done for me is a pink polished stone in a "cage".
Sorry if I didn't get back to some of you. Time to walk DS to school in the freezing cold. Got my long underwear on!
Bye for now.

Jack-K I lost my mind years ago! :dizzy:
Linworthlady--I'm going to try some bread recipes I printed from the recipes forum. :chef:
It's cold here in the DC area, but I'm loving every minute of it!
 Very invigorating!
I usually don't weigh myself--I tend towards impatience and would get discouraged if I saw that the needle hadn't moved a bit. :snail: When God was handing out patience, I was in line for the Ladies Room. Mentally I'm feeling pretty darn good, and I think that if I stay on the diet I will see results. Just gotta be patient! :crossed:

Oh dang forgot to weigh in this morning so will have to do it tomorrow morning. I'm all dressed and have eaten a bowl of oatmeal so don't dare step on the scale now. Our temp. is dropping today... And we're supposed to get snow this afternoon. So I have to go out and do some running. Get a couple of things at the grocery store and go to the bank and post office.
Tranquil- So sorry you're sick. Hope you get better soon. Sounds like you're really doing great with being OP and losing so a big congradulations...
Gatorgal- Just a big howdy..
Linworthlady- We just had a green salad and fresh broccoli with it.. I guess I could have baked a sweet potato but I try not to fix a big dinner at night. Mostley we just eat meat and salad or meat, vegetable and a salad. But I guess if you're feeding a family it would be different. But right now DH is doing SB with me...
heartmom- I hate that water retention. And ham will do it to me... But since I have heart trouble I take lasix for it.. But I to have to drink lots of water..
Jack-k- Glad you're feeling better. I sure feel like I'm at a plateu with my weight, can't seem to start down even though I'm eating right. Yippee for the pound of butter....... You rock girl...
Bob- Rest well girlfriend... Hope you're feeling better soon...
Sef- Howdy there wondered where you'd got off too....
Yellowrose- Thanks for asking, DH is doing fine but tired on his job. Guess it will take a couple of weeks for him to get back in the swing of things. I'm like you I like to cook a turkey when all the hoopla has calmed down and its just the hubby and I.
Monet- Congrads on the weight loss.... I think I'm at a stand still and it drives me crazy... Hope you're feeling better. I know Mono is a hard thing to get over..
gracious- Glad your meeting went fine. Oh dear homemade cookies would be hard for me. Lucky you with a clean house..
Hi Zanne and Debilli......
Will try to pop back on later.. Hope you have a great day and stay warm....

WIW-
I forgot to weigh first thing when I got up. It was probably on purpose subconsciously. My weight has not been good. I am trying really hard today to limit carbs and eat legally. I made oatmeal in the microwave this a.m. and it boiled over. I had to laugh since I had just read on the board about that very same thing.
Jackie-Thanks for the advice. I will post my menu when I have a little more time. That is wonderful that you lost another pound! How tall are you? We weigh almost the same but I'm still a 12. All your exercising has made you lean. Is this a big wedding?
BOB-Sorry about your legs. Are you feeling better this morning?
HI Shirley, Gracious, Debbie
Lyn-I'm so glad your BBQ sauce didn't spill everywhere. The watch bracelet sounds pretty.
Monet-Sorry your life has been stressful. You are still doing so well with the eating--one bright spot for you, I hope.
SUsanne-I think I know what you mean about a stone in a cage. I really like those. Does FIL sell the jewelry in FL? Stay warm!!
Has anyone made the triscuit crust for Deb's Cheesecake? If so, did you like it?

Hi all! I'm back from 3 days in Montgomery and trying to recover. I see 57 posts for the week so I won't get to respond to everyone, but I will fill you in on the highlights of the weekend.
I got to Montgomery Saturday and managed to spend a quiet night with friends.
The official activities began Sunday morning with an 8 am prayer breakfast, then a luncheon at 12:30 (that was so crowded that they turned it into a reception--1,200 women in heels and no place to sit--ouch!:( ) Then I moved into my hotel room and begain the round of afternoon receptions honoring various and assorted folks that had been given appointments in the new administration. By 6:00 I was at a reception for my client and Alabama's new state treasurer, Kay Ivey. Then off to another party to end the evening. I was tired and my feet were SORE! I was in heels all day.
Eating was So-so. I did great at the breakfast passing up all the carbs and sticking with the eggs and bacon. Lunch was a different story. At the "reception" there were finger foods that were all illegal--even if you could get near the tables--which you couldn't! So we stayed long enough to be "seen" and then we headed out to find a real meal. Went to a Mexican Restaurant--and I said no to the margaritas, and no to the tortillas that came with the fajitas, but I have to admist to digging into the chips and salsa. The rest of the day was finget foods--at the last party I managed to find veggies, cheese, and olives and snacked on those.
Monday morning was gorgeous! We started the day at the Dexter AVenue/King MemorialBaptist Church for a MLK tribute. For those of you that don't know, that is the church where MLK was the pastor when he led the Montgomery Bus Boycotts. It is considered to be the birthplace of the Civil Rights movement! The service was a great tribute and I was very proud of our new Governor who vowed to work to bring King's dream to fruition. It was also quite moving to join hands with my fellow worshipers in that church and sing "We Shall Overcome." Actually that was one of the most special moments of the weekend.
Then we went to Kay's private swearing-in at the Supreme Court building. From there to the actualy inaugural ceremony at the Capitol. Thank goodness it was in the 60s and beautiful! The ceremony was great. We bugged out on the parade becase it was 1:00 and none of us had eaten a bite all day. So we went to a restaurant for a good steak, salad and no potato!
Then I went back to the hotel to get dressed for the ball and the pre-ball receptions. It is fun to get all dressed up and the dress got a lot of compliments. We went to a recpetion for the Attorney General and then to a reception and private dinner thrown by the new Governor. I've known him for about 6 or seven years, so it was fun to be able to give him a big hug for congratulations on his big day.
From there we went to the ball--along with 4,200 of my best friends! It was a little crowded to say the least. But the decorations were gorgeous and it was fun to see all the gowns. Alabama gave a concert during the ball. My group left around 10 and went back to our hotel for a private party (e.g. no alchol was served at the ball and we were thirsty!). I fell into bed one exhausted woman.
Yesterday my eating sucked. I was tired and I ate what was easy rather than what was good for me. Today back on track.
When I get pictures I'll try to get them posted.
I hope to respond to everyone from here on out. I have to unpack and do laundry and start on a new project.
Love you all
Susan

Today's thought is:
The fresh start is always an illusion but a necessary one.
- Eleanor Claris
When was the last time you decided to make a change or to approach
something differently? When we recognize the opportunity for a fresh
start, we recognize our innate desire to change and grow. Although we
often discover - perhaps as early as March - that we have forgotten our
New Year's resolution, we may have gained three months of practicing
who we want to be. These do count; they are in our history. They are
cumulative. What's important is that we do make a commitment to
change; we "give ourselves over," as mittere, the root of the word
commitment, suggests.
Kathy had made a New Year's resolution to share her honest opinions
at staff meetings. She was fully committed to this new behavior. She
asked two good friends at work to hold her accountable by observing
her behavior. Kathy kept her word; soon the new behavior took hold.
Others commented respectfully on what they saw. Kathy felt pleased
with herself and gained self-esteem.
Just for today, I will resolve to keep my promises to myself. And
although I may not do it perfectly, I will work toward my resolution for the new beginning.

Happy WIW, everybody. Well yesterday it was 80 degrees, today it's supposed to be a high of 50. Go figure.
Well, I reported the other day that I had lost the O-town pounds and here I still sit at the same spot. I'm not going to get too crazy, cause I know I've been eating right and exercising, so I guess I'll try to be patient.
BOB - Hope you start to feel better soon. I get what I've always called "itchy legs". It happens at night, and feels like they itch from the inside out. DH says my feet are going 90 mph at night. Wonder if that would help. I need to schedule a appt for my annual physical, so I'll mention it to my doctor.
Dawnstorm - Glad you found the agave. I just now noticed your signature about thanking a veteran. Were you or a loved one in the service? My oldest son has done early enlistment for the Marines and right now is scheduled to start recruit training in July. I'm very proud of him but also scared to death, given our current world situation.
Miata - That is so sweet what you are doing with the quilt. I'm sure the person will appreciate it. Enjoy your visit with your daughter. You said "home on leave". Is she in the service?
Crystle - Thanks for explaining about the turkey. That makes sense, now. You must have a large freezer. I wish we did. We have 2 refrigerators, so I've got the extra freezer space there, but it's never enough is it.
Sabrina - Girl, you need to start getting well pretty soon. WTG on the pants loosening up. Isn't that a great feeling!
Gator - WTG on getting the walk in with DH. I wish mine would walk with me. He will every now and then, but just ends up whining before we get home, so I'm better walking alone or with my neighbor.
Linworth - You can substitute agave for honey in most recipes. I also use it as a sweetener in my coffee. Pretty expensive for a sweetener, but I just love it. I only use about a tsp. I haven't made the Triscuit crust but I have made it with a nut crust and boy was it yummy. I would think the regular Triscuits would make it taste salty and I have problems finding the low-sodium ones at my supermarket.
Heartmom - Do you ever put lemon in your water? I've heard that helps with a diuretic effect and I really like the flavor better.
Jack-K - Have you tried cooking your brown rice with broth instead of water? I use chicken broth and mushrooms, ends up tasting more like a pilaf.
Sef - It was fun talking with you, too.
Lyn - You just need to have that surgery done and get it over with. I know easy for me to say but I've been there, and in the long run, I think you'll be glad you did. I didn't think my shoulder was ever going to heal, but it did and I'm pretty much back to normal now. Call or email me sometime if you want to talk about it.
Monet - Glad to see you back but sorry things aren't going well. Remember that we all go through hard times and we're here for you in the bad times as well as the good. Hope things get better for you soon.
Gracious - Glad you get to relax. Enjoy your day.
Susan - Sounds like you had a wonderful week-end. What a thrilling end to all the hard work I know you were doing to get to that point. Pictures, we want pictures!!
I better run now and get to work. Have a great day everyone!

Just thought I would throw out something that just happened when I was trying to post: I had done my message in Notepad and done the cut/paste thing in the reply area. I got the server busy message. I waited about 30 seconds then hit "refresh" then retry. My post went through then. Kinda scary because I thought I had lost the post.

Hey, I haven't been by here in forever. Sorry. I run that other Sugar Busters recipes and support page and have been busy with it. I thought I would check in for WIW. I got off the diet for a month or so around the holidays and I am back now, full force. I started a water aerobics class and love it. Here are my stats. Down 2 pounds this week! 16 pounds now!!!!
188/172/150ish
11/11/02 start date
I remeasured myself and have lost a total of 1" from hips, 1.5" from waist, 1.75" from thigh, 1.75" from chest. My arms are still flappin in the wind with no change.
Good luck to everyone, and sorry I don't check in more.

A quick check in...I'm feeling better today..the pain has now moved to my right side, but not as intense. My temp was normal last night and am hoping for the same tomorrow. I plan to go back to work in the morning if all goes well today.
Hope everyone has a good WIW...I'm afraid to look!
I'll check back in a little later...

AGH! I'm soooo behind on posts! I've made it to page three and will post individually later. Just wanted to let you all know I've returned to the land of the living. Right after I posted Monday, I ended up going home with the worse headache I've ever experienced. Went to the doc yesterday and discover I have migraines. What fun! At least it's just that. Monday night it hurt so bad I was convinced I had a brain tumor! :dizzy:
I'm back in the office today and ready to go! I'm having a very good OP day. Delicious fruit smoothie for breakfast. Turkey sandwich with green beans for lunch. Planning on a grilled chicken salad and stir-fried veggies for dinner.
Well, I'm off for now. I'll check back in once I've caught up with everyone!

Good afternoon,
Getting ready to go home. I don't have to walk tonite, fix dinner or nothing. :cb: Going out to dinner with the girls from bunco club. Going to a steak place so I don't have to worry about my eating. Probably will have a glass of wine. But I'll be good.
Zanne, it's freezing here to. Everywhere I think. It is going to be a high of 7 tomorrow. Brr.. You had better wear that long underware. Maybe 2 pairs.
Dawn, good for you feeling good mentally. I think this WOE causes more lost inches than pounds. I wish I could stay away from that scale, but I do only weigh on WIW.
Toni, you just keep that snow over there. They are calling for 1-2 today here. Last time the 6" they called for went right over us, so this time we will probably get 6-12  Let us know tommorrow about the scale.
Linworth, I am 5'-5 3/4" tall but I do believe all the walking and wt training has made me smaller. I have never used the triscuits but have used a pecan crust. It was good. Yes it is a big wedding I'm up to 350 people so far. Hope it stops there.
Fillise, Your weekend was a whirlwind. You were on the go constantly. No wonder your feet hurt. I hope you find time to soak them. Can't wait to see those pics in that dress. Sounds like you did darn good with your eating with all those temptations. It is so hard to not eat those darn chips and salsa. (and the ritas). Don't know if you are a basketball fan, but UK plays Auburn tonite. GO CATS!:D:
ldblond, thanks for the motivational words. So true!. .5 is a .5. Keep up the journaling. It will help.
Trish, your body is probably adjuting from the pounds you just lost. Next week will be better, just hang in there. Don't get discouraged. Yes I have tried using broth for the rice. It is always sticky and coarse. I'm not a big rice lover anyway. Can't stand white rice. Only like those Lipton flavored rices and fried rice & mexican rice. But I love a pilaf.
Robingirl, Yeah for you losing 16 lbs. That is a great start. We understand that you can't be on here with the other board. I'm sure those people appreciate all that hard work as we appreciate Deb. Congrats on those inches. I think that is the best part.
Bob, glad you are feeling some better. Hope tomorrow is much better.
Country, I like your attitude, no reason for it, don't worry about it. You just wait there, I'm gonna catch up to you one day. Can't wait.
Mom2Marsh, Sorry to hear about your migraines. My DD has those and takes 2-3 prescriptions for them. I know what you mean about the brain tumor. Right before I started SB I had this horrible pain in my temple. I just knew it was an annyurism (sp) and even almost went to the ER. Haven't had one since I got on SB. So hopefully that will help you too.
Hope everyone has a great evening. See ya tomorrow

Susan-Inaugural weekend sounds like so much fun! I bet you are glad to be home now though. It might have been too much fun. WTG on the eating.
Robin-You have lost a lot of weight. Keep it up.
BOB-I'm glad you are feeling better.
Crystle-I'm way up too. But I'm bummed. I like your attitude better.
Kat-The migraine sounds awful. I'm glad you are back and feeling better.
Jackie-350 people is a huge wedding!! Is it your son or daughter? You are going to busy. Is the pecan crust on the SB recipe site? It sounds good. Do you use a topping? Have fun tonight and enjoy your steak. It is supposed to be in the teens in SC tonight. Very unusual weather for us. I'm 5'8" -- I still can't get in a ten unless they are lowrise pants. My waist is thick :(

Linwirth, It is my DD (oldest one). I think the receipe is on the board. Soemone posted it a couple weeks ago. I think it is just butter and chopped pecans. My waist is thick also. My pants are big in the butt and legs but tight in the waist. Plus my stomach is till big. Don't know if it will ever go down. Definately can't wear low-rise. Scary.

I lost my post- so here I go again- Okay, I'm still at 213 this morning- but I've had one heck of a day(really started last night). I haven't had the first glass of water today and my eating has been bad, also:o Well, I'm going to explain our latest with Boogie-I'm going to copy and paste what I sent to my heart support groups so that I don't have to retype everything- so here goes..
Well, last night I was playing around with Boogie and rubbed my hands across
his tummy- I felt his liver! I knew that I shouldn't be able to feel
it-meaning that it's enlarged. Called the PC(almost 2 hours away), and he
said for us to come in Thursday at the clinic. I wanted to make sure that I
wasn't being paranoid and wasting a trip to Jackson, so I went to the ER to
see if the doc on call also felt his liver being enlarged. I waited at one
hospital for 2 hours and finally got disgusted and went to another one down
the road. The doc there saw him and agreed that it was enlarged. He called
UMC and spoke to our PC and the pc said to come in today. So we went to
Jackson this morning and the pc agreed and he thinks the fenestration has
closed resulting in higher sat's(96) and higher pressures(enlarged liver).
The echo looked about the same as last time. The heptic veins are a little
dilated meaning higher pressures. He had his blood drawn for some liver
tests. We should know the results by tomorrow. The PC seems to think his body
will adjust to the fenestration closing so soon- but it still depends on the
tests results and what CHOP says. There is a possibility that he will have to
have a heart cath:( . He has no other symptoms- he's
energetic, playing, eating, etc. I just knew this was happening last week when
we went to the local ped last week and his sat's were so high all of a
sudden. I was under the impression that they were supposed to GRADUALLY
increase-not all of a sudden. I called about it and got the nurse who relayed
the message to the pc on call who called me back and told me all was fine-
just proves that a mother's instinct is always right. Well, please say a
prayer that Boogie won't have to be cathed or anything else
heartmom

I just realized that you all may not understand my medical jargon I used-sorry. Basically, he had a hole that was intentionally left in his repair to allow blood to flow thru so that the pressures in his lungs wouldn't get too high. The hole is suppossed to gradually close on it's own-not all of a sudden or so quickly. We are hoping his body will adjust to the pressures without any intervention. But there is a possibility that he will need a heart catherization-not good.

BOB- sorry to hear about the stomach bug! It’s been flying around up here in Tallahassee. Last Friday our church preschool had 12 of their 25 teachers out with it. I’ve been praying it passes over me and my house. I’ll be praying for a swift recovery for you also!
Acw- DH and I want to have three kids (at least right now). We say that each child will determine whether we continue or not. Luckily Marshall’s such a sweetie I’d have 10 kids if they were all like him!
Heartmom- You can join me! I’m having to pull myself back on the wagon too. I do admire you for the water consumption. That’s one of the trickiest parts of eating healthy for me! I just love my sodas!
YellowRose- WTG on a medium! I’m back into a large for the first time in a while. Was so happy the first time I realized that XL was hanging a bit too much.
Quilter- Your new hobbie sound like a blast. What type of jewelry are you making?
Jack-K- I’m so envious that your DH walks and SBs with you. Mine needs to badly. He’s put on a good bit of weight since we married. My biggest concern is the fact that his family has a LOT of diabetes and heart problems in their history. I still think he’s crazy sexy  but I want him crazy healthy too!
Beth- Hope your healing is going well! What type of surgery did you have? (if you don’t mind me being nosey)
Trishaloo- I’m in Tallahassee, FL. In the panhandle, about 30 minutes from the Georgia border.
CountryMom- How smart! You must have the best stocked freezer in the Southern United States!
Monet- I’ll be praying for you also. We hope you’ll be back in the full swing with us soon!
Fillise- That sounds like such a beautiful service honoring MLK. What a joy it must have been to be able to participate. I admire your strength eating well! I would have gone crazy!
Shoot! Almost finished but now I’ve got to run. I’ll finish up later!
Love you all!

Evening All:wave:
Thought I was going to get on here after my meeting this morning but had received a call from DM to see if I wanted to go up to the Super Walmart with her afterwards which kept me out til I went to get the kids from school. Then of course, once they get home, it's hard for me to get some computer time. I have to admit though, it is paying off, them being on the computer all this time. So far, both Michael and Lauren have really done great on their mid-terms, so, though it's hard for me to be away from the 'puter, it truly is a worth cause!
Thanks for all of LAUREN'S good bday wishes. My "baby" is now 15 years old. Her dinner was okay, def. not the same as the place we took her to every year for years past but a lot cheaper. Wasn't bad, but wasn't crazy about it either. She loved the T-shirt I got her that says DRAMA QUEEN. Her teacher wants to know where I got it so she too can get one and Lauren doesn't want to share the info as then she won't have such an exclusive T.
I was NOT able to get out and jog yesterday and definitely wasn't able to do so today. May try tomorrow, otherwise, I'm going to start the week anew on Monday. I dare not even think about waking up early on Friday! Not only is there no school, but it's going to be colder than a witches heart here. Okay, stop your laughing:lol: I know, I would never be able to live in a cold climate, how in the world I think I am going to move north one day is beyond me (wishful thinking). They claim it's going to be about 29 degrees in my area-gawd forbid, I don't have anything but a fleece breaker to wear. I've been throwing blankets in to the dryer to heat them up and then sit on the couch wrapped like a mummy with them!
It's 2 months exactly away from my 3 year SB ANNIVERSARY, and I was thinking the other day (can be dangerous when I do so) that not only do I need to get back to my goal, but I have to really find some other type of goal to incorporate in to my daily lifestyle. So, since I've been avoiding the scale in fear of what it says I decided to put the scale away and only bring it out on Feb. 22nd and then again on March 22nd. I know how it feels when I have a weight gain and I know how I feel when I'm at my goal weight. I can't be a slave to that scale as I am and when it's up I must step on that thing a million times a day in hopes. So, that's a new goal for me, put the scale AWAY!!!
The book I mentioned the other day, I copied the pages about the water. Thought I could copy the text easily so I could post it but will have to actually type it out when I get a chance, so be patient with me:^: Anyhow, after reading that, (even though I knew most of what I read already,) and knowing that my water intake is the worst it's ever been, (as I think I'm being rewarded with a bladder infection, I'm finding myself hitting the "URINATION STATION" more now than when I drink water) I just HAVE to find a way to incorporate the water I so badly need. So, this is another goal I have to find myself acheiving.
I've totally recommited to this WOE. I can't let the pounds creep back on, they do so so darn easily. I have to heed my own words of the war between the pounds! If I don't watch myself I'll find myself back where I started 3 years ago, heavier and unhappy. I seem to find solace in the MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY'S I've posted in the past and find that reading them, and all the posts on the board def. helps. It doesn't help when I'm not up to par AND having to be away from the computer as I have been. I've also found that when I don't journal I def. don't do as well. It's a tool that helped me lose the weight and keep it off and yet, when I don't do it when I'm able I find myself slacking, so I'm back to doing that. I also find that when I cut corners it doesn't help. This WOE works for me as intended and when I try to do it another way, whether it be not eating starchy carbs, it just doesn't work. None of this is new to me, I knew and know this all, but sometimes, I think the part of my brain that knows it is put in a suspended mode. Luckily, that little porthole in my brain was able to let a little of that "light bulb moment" light come through until it shined bright! Don't ask me what happens, just be glad to know, it's happened:D
I had started a post the other day which now seems so far outdated, but will post it anyhow and then continue on from there....
Hey All:wave:
Waiting for the family to come over for cake and ice cream tonight. My Dad decided at the last moment to go to a Cuban rest. to take my Aunt and her friend out for dinner before they head back to NC on Wed., so Lauren went and then they're coming over for some bday treats. I didn't go, I didn't want to tempt myself, and besides, it's NOT Rio Crystal! Instead, I stayed home and made some skirt steak.
Didn't get in that walk today, ended up cleaning up a bit. I'm not going to get on my own case if I don't get it in til later this week, I'm know I'll be pounding the pavement soon enough.
Really didn't do a heck of a lot today - lounging around day today. With the kids out of school I didn't have to kill myself to get up too early today - no school here on Friday either-another possible day of sleeping in?
ZANNE, just spoke to ELI's sister outside of Toronto and she said it was 18 there - you can keep your cold weather, it's darn cold enough for me down here as it is!
LIN, LAUREN will be 15 tomorrow. As long as this place has a good lobster, she'll be happy. Do look for the book-it really is worth reading!
BIGK, glad to see your post and always good to talk to you, but best of all was seeing you in Orlando! Funny you should mention JT, he's my all time fav. singer AND that's my all time fav. song. It's true - you've got a friend!!!!! Not just me, but the whole board!!!!! {{{HUGS}}}:grouphug: Talk to you soon!
MOM, glad you liked the MM message. I've printed out a slew of them in the past and really find it helps me to read them when I'm going through a tough time. Have you ever read some of the ones that we've archived on the MM board over on the informational boards?
BOB, you sick again? Geez woman, you can't get a break, can you? I totally agree, and you know, I def. go for comfort before fashion. Give me a 2xl nightie any day, no fitted lingerie for this bod!!!!
ACW, you have a birthday coming up yourself next week - any plans? There's a great jelly I use to get that was from New Zealand, I believe, called JOK N AL. Have you ever bought/seen that brand?
and here is where I (try) to continue on....
Picked up a couple books at the library yesterday. One of them I've seen at WHOLE FOODS and is the WHOLE FOODS MARKET COOKBOOK. If you can find it at your library, there's a ton of great recipes in there that can def. be labeled SB LEGAL, so see if your library has a copy.
Surprised to see the color you've chosen the most, thus far, on this weeks poll is purple. Surprised, I wouldn't of thought it would be that color! Once again, if you have any ideas for a poll to post, please e-mail me. I wrack my brains trying to find new polls to post each week and would def. welcome any help:)
HEART, I hope you can get a copy of the book I mentioned, THE SMART WEIGH. It would be good for you to read, for everyone actually. Not only can stress make you not lose, but also, remember what I have posted on the RECOMMENDED READING BOARD about WHY THE SCALE LIES???? Don't get so discouraged, you know when you are doing this WOE correctly you are going to lose and to just be patient and don't give in to frustrations-I think we all know this but still find it hard to do. So, any good tips on how to drink more water, like you do?
TONI, sounds like you had a nice, peaceful day to yourself. What book are you reading? I haven't read an actual book in a lonnng time, it's been recipe books for me, though I do read lots of magazines!
JACKK, what's wrong with your tummy? Hope you are feeling better by now. CONGRATS on getting to a new low for you and being down on the scale. Would you wave that same wand over me a couple hundred times???? I hope this time my determination sticks. For some reason, I feel like it will-cross:cross: your fingers for me!
ROSE, another plane trip? Does that mean Florida? Is RAY ready to come down for a visit? So glad he liked the avocado and the sauce - TRISH'S DH loved the avocado as well. Wish you were all here again so I could give you more!!!! Lauren said THANK YOU for not only the bday wishes, but the nice compliment. I'm hoping that she'll NOT be like her mother in the kitchen and learn and like to cook. So far, she likes to bake, so at least it's a start and more than I like to do. Let me know when you get THE SMART WEIGH and what you think about it. I think I'm going to request it again. CONGRATS on those size MEDIUMS, before you know it, you'll be hitting the SMALLS.
NMS, hope you are getting ready to bundle up for tomorrow night. Going to be colder than a witches heart out there! I think the northern gals are laughing at us Floridians. They wish they were here I'm sure and we wish we were somewhere where it was a bit warmer as well. We went to this place in Broward for the lobster, had never been there before, it was okay, nothing special. I'd rather spend a little more and have something a bit better. There's a place down here called CAPTAIN'S TAVERN that's wonderful but has def. gotten out of my price range. Is the Chinese place you are talking about called EMERALD COAST? LMK if you ever want to meet up in Broward for lunch-I'm available most days with notice. Would love to meet you at OLE OLE if your game one day! Did you call NUTRITIONSMART about the agave? There's some great stuff at WHOLE FOODS. If you ever want to pick my brain, let me know, or, if we meet for lunch, there's one right down the street we could go to afterwards!
QUILTER, LMK what kind of jewelry you are making. I have lots of interesting pieces from when I had my craft store, maybe something you could use? Glad you and Paul had some time off together. How's Maddie girl? You haven't mentioned her lately. Good luck on Saturday - let us know how things go!
GRACIOUS, when you make your tacos, do you make them soft? If hard, how do you harden the shells, in the oven? I'm confident I'll be back to my goal weight in the next 2 months, esp. with the support of yourself and the rest of the board!
BETH, glad to hear all went well with the surgery. Even more excited to hear you reached your 1 YEAR SB ANNIVERSARY and like me, are back on track!!! WOO HOO!!!! CONGRATS!
TRISH, wish you lived closer, I'd love to go to Curves with you! You go girl, a workout AND a walk. Sheesh, I haven't done a real jog here at home in almost 3 weeks and I'm not proud of that either. I will be back on the road tomorrow or Monday, def. one of the two, if not both!
DISNEYBLOND WELCOME TO THE BOARDS!!!
BOB, what the heck is wrong with you, you seem to have gone from bad to worse! Hope by today you are feeling better. How's Kate doing?
DAWN, that's great that you found some agave. What are they charging for it in your area? Before I come up to MD this summer (more than likely we will), you'll have to let me know where those places are in relation to Bethesda. Anyhow, once you get it you MUST try my cheesecake recipe, that is, if you like cheesecake! Lots of other recipes I've posted call for agave as well - can't live without the stuff, but for right now, I'm not using any of my private stock - I can't be trusted with it in the house at this point.
COUNTRY, you're body will start on the downward trend, so don't fret about the ups and downs. You just may have to re-adjust something. Do you journal at all??? Girl, what do you have in your house, a walk-in freezer?????? I couldn't pass up that deal either, but I may have to find a restaurant to stick all those in, I sure wouldn't have room and I even have an extra freezer outside!
MIATA, CONGRATS on staying the same and being okay with that. So many times we stress out when that happens but it really is okay to be the same some weeks, as long as we know we're on the right track we shouldn't worry about it happening, we know eventually, our patience will pay off and the scale will drop. Enjoy your time with your DD. Why is it do you think that there always seems to be more older women at TOPS meetings? When I use to go years ago I was the youngest by many years.
TRANQUIL, glad to hear you continue to stay OP and to know there's no pneumonia, but wondering what the Dr. found when you went today-has to be something that's keeping you sick as it has. Let us know when you find something out!
SEF, glad to see your post, you know we always miss you (and worry about you), when you aren't around for a few days. Glad we found you in on that Sunday to chat with you on our way home from the big weekend. I'm looking forward to the day where we get to finally talk in person - one day soon, I hope!
MONET, CONGRATS on being down 2lbs this week. Hope whatever has gotten you in a slump turns that frown upside down and that you'll be back with us again as usual!
FILLISE, I got tired from just reading what a whirlwind weekend you had! Sounds like you had a great time. Glad to see you back!!!! Will things slow down for you now?
LDBLOND, thanks for posting that MM message. CONGRATS on being down another .5lb. I find journaling VERY easy. What is it that you don't like doing, or that you find inconvenient about it?
ROBIN, CONGRATS! Keep up the great work!!!
MOM, I just read something about migranes and how to prevent them in, I think, PREVENTION. Will have to find the article and let you know what's recommended. I don't get headaches often, but when I do, they're usually migranes and associated with hormones and the only thing that helps is taking 222's (like Tylenol with codeine). Hope those don't come around for you too often! Keep warm up there!!!!
Okay, MICHAEL has come in here one time too many to ask me when I'm going to be off the computer, so I guess my time is up. If I missed replying to anyone, please forgive me, it wasn't intentional, I tried to catch up best I could.
I will most defintely be checking in tomorrow morning at some point.
Going to throw off my clothes and don my lingerie show nightie and plop my arse down on the couch to watch AMERICAN IDOL.
Have a great night all!

Hi SB Friends!
I wanted to touch base and tell you that I went to the doctor today about my rumbling, grumbling, nauseaus stomach. She wasn?t convinced on one certain thing. She poked around a bit and didn?t feel anything weird. She did say we would try medicine for a week and see if that helped. So I got some samples of Nexium. I did take one when I got home and think that perhaps the pain has subsided a bit. I go back next Friday and we?ll go from there. Hopefully, next Friday the pain will be gone and she can just give me a prescription and send me on my merry way. If not, she?s going to start running tests. She said the next step is to get an xray. Gulp!!! I?m not going to worry about it though. Worry will only make my stomach even more upset.
JACK-K---So what do you think of the 3-mile tape? Is it hard? Is it the one that she taped in her home that has another girl leading the second mile? That?s the 3-mile tape I have. BTW, I?ve been meaning to tell you this. Everytime you mention BUNCO it brings me back all sorts of warm, fuzzy memories. Back home growing up we always played bunco at wedding and baby showers. That was so fun. Makes me think of all my aunties and cousins I love so much.
LINWORTH---I did take a class called Bead and Chain. It?s where you learn how to wire beads together to join them to chains or to each other. It is really fun and the results are pretty quick. If you like to craft you might want to give it a try. I just found a new Bead shop that?s less than 3 miles from my house. Yikes! That could mean trouble.
TONI & TRISH---I will try and take some pictures of my jewelry that I?ve made and post it. The problem is that I?ve already given a few pieces away. It does make a nice gift. My girlfriend liked the green and silver necklace and earrings I have her for her birthday. I?ll have to make another one to replace it. I would love to sell it, but I?m not sure I?m that good. I am going to donate some pieces to my Altrusa Clubs next fundraiser for the Silent Auction. So we will see about that. Perhaps I can get some business through that.
BETH---Congrats on the renovation of your body. How wonderful for you. What a difference one year and a lot of hard work makes. I?m doing the happy dance for you.
ZANNE---Does your FIL have a website to show off his jewelry? How does he sell it? Does he get booths at shows?
BOB---Your bug sounds like what I?ve been fighting for the past two weeks. Sore muscles in the mid sections. Even my elastic waistbands are killing me. Hope you get over yours soon. What are you eating?
TRANQ---Congrats on the 100%!!! How great to feel that skirt starting to sag!!! WTG!!! Tell us more about that book.
YELLOWROSE---Oh, honey, I?ve seen those bracelet watches and they are beautiful! What a fun idea to do it with your daughter. I?ll bet you all go crazy at the bead stores. On Mondday, my husband and I went to a computer store (for him) and he bought this outrageously priced MP3 player. But I didn?t mind because I wanted him to have one for Christmas, but I didn?t know which one to buy. So then AFTER the trip to the computer store, we went to the bead shop and I left him in the car to play with his new toy. I felt so UNguilty spending $40 on findings and silver and a few sale-priced beads. I was glad we stopped there last and not first. It?s amazing how quickly your perpective can change on stuff like that. As for tutor training, I work for a non-profit literacy agency that is linked with over 70 adult literacy sites in our greater Cincinnati area. One service my office provides is tutor training for people who want to volunteer and become a literacy tutor. So I?m in charge of that program. I?ve been doing it for almost 4 years now, and I really, truly do love it. My nickname is Quilter, but it really should be the Reader or something like that. Literacy is who I am and my job is to try and raise awareness for this cause and help people who can?t read. It?s really a good work and I?m so happy with it. I feel very blessed that I actually get to do something I love. I?m just a bit nervous about Saturday?s class because I?m consolidating from a two-day course to a one-day course. Ugh!!! Hope I get everything covered. Anyway, thanks for asking.
FILLISSE----Fabulous, fabulous!!! Sounds like everything went well. Glad the dress was a hit. When do we get to see the pictures. You are certainly rubbing elbows, you lucky person!
HEARTMOM---I?m sending up prayers for Boogie. I hope his body starts to adjust. I have to say that I was so impressed that you even knew what his liver was. You are a walking, talking textbook by now. What a journey you all are on. I pray for healing for your little guy and for strength and peace for all of you. Perhaps the fast healing of the hole could signify and really healthy body that wants to get him whole as soon as possible??? Just a thought from an uneducated non-medical type. You are right, though. I only understood about half what you said, so the clarification helped immensely.
MOM2MARSH---I am using sterling wire and all sorts of beads and sometimes I buy fancy already made chains for necklaces and bracelets. And sometimes I just wire the beads together. I?ll try to post a picture soon since so many of you have asked.
DEB---Please give Lauren-sweetie some belated birthday wishes from me. Sorry I missed her big day. I love your t-shirt. I think there are days when I could use a shirt like that. Ha! Hey, I like your idea of weighing only once a month. This coming from the woman who was a multi-daily-weigher. Wow, you?ve come a long way. Remember when you were first talking about not weighing once a day. That was like you were going to go through withdrawal. What a difference. Good luck getting back to your goal. Thanks for asking about Maddie girl. She?s doing pretty good. Her back legs just want to do their own thing these days. We try to help her, but she?s still able to run up and down the steps. But sometimes she gets choosy and stays at the bottom to see if I?m going to be long upstairs. I?ve been trying to come her more regularly to keep the dog hair situation at a minor crisis. The trouble is that when I comb her I get all the hair on me. Guess I should do it naked, but then that might traumatize her. Thank goodness I do it inside. My wouldn?t the neighbors have something to talk about then.
Okay, well that?s all for me. I just bought a great book last night. Have any of you heard of Iyanla Vanzant? She?s fabulous. Well, she has a book called Every Day I Pray. And it?s reallly wonderful. She wrote that book called In the Meantime.I first saw her on the Oprah show and she?s got such a positive wonderful spirit about her. Really into emotional healing and stuff like that.
Take care, my friends.
Kim
I know how much the doctor?s scale said today, but I?m not going to post it. It was very depressing. But I must say ?thanks? because this too shall pass. Let?s just hope the numbers go down and not up!! LOL

Hey everyone
I'm up for WIW - and i'm not surprised. I have myself to blame - no water retention, period, etc. just plain ole' hand to mouth disease! I'm so unmotivated and have no willpower. I wake up every day and I plan on doing good and then I just flop! I did stop at a friends house this weekend to see if she wanted to start walking with me in a couple of weeks and she wants to. I can't exercise until the doc gives me the all clear since I have open wounds and stuff. So, I'm just sitting here - losing and gaining the same 4 pounds!
DEB: Spring is a great time to be in New Orleans or Fall. Other than that - too hot and humid! And I say fall - I mean like November - that's when it kind of starts to cool off. So, just let me know - my BEST time of year is summer - but that is entirely too hot! So, anytime will be great for me!
Where is NANCEMEISTER? I haven't seen her around lately! I miss her sense of humor!
Hope all of you had better days than me!! Tomorrow is another day -
missy

Linworth--I made the triscuit crust one time for that cheesecake. I didn’t like it because it was “chewey” (read: tough) rather than light. I thought it took away from the cheesecake, so I went back to making them w/o any crust. Maybe something else would do for a crust, but I haven’t worked on it.
Fillise--Your weekend, esp. the Sunday service, sounds wonderful. I know it would have sent goosebumps up my arms to experience what you did at that church. All God’s people . . .
Trish--Lucky you to have neighbors that will walk with you. Mine either walk at the crack of dawn (definition: night!) or they run, which is too fast for me to keep up with. My DH normally is one of those “dawn” walkers, but he didn’t get his walk in on Tuesday, so I had company. Normally I walk about 8:30-9:00 am.
Debelli--LOL!! I could really identify with your remark about how cold it is. Colder than a witches . . . tit! I’ve never heard “heart”. It is supposed to get down to 28 here in O-town tomorrow night. Brrr. I will try to get my walking in but I HATE the cold weather. My blood is too thin for it!! BTW, congrats on your new plan for the scale. I remember that we talked about that on the board about a year ago. Perhaps you can set a goal of a certain percentage of body fat, or some other fitness goal beyond just the weight. Maybe there are some races in Miami that you can train for. When I was doing a lot of running I was in fab. shape. We went to the runners club meetings and they were a great motivation for staying in shape. When my legs, feet and knees went bad, it was the beginning of the “end.” If you get my drift.
Monet--Glad to see you back. Sorry you’ve had some troubles.
I didn’t get my walk in yesterday. I did my day at the Pregnancy Care Center and then had a meeting last night. We had planned to walk when I got home, but my DH was working on law stuff and didn’t feel like going. Actually, neither did I. I did get 3+ miles in today, though. It’s easier when I can do the walking in the morning. I hope to get out there again tomorrow, but Friday it is gonna be cold. Ugh. Will probably walk about noon then, when I thaw out.
Spent all day doing French. We will be staying 3 days with some French people that we met on our trip to Cuba. They live near Limoges. So I really want to be able to speak better than just “pidgin” French. I’ve been so busy with this big conference coming up that it has been on the back burner. But I spent the day doing conjugations, and also writing a 3 page letter all in French. It took me several hours to do the letter. My teacher will check it tomorrow night at class, so it will sound pretty good by the time I send it. I think, though, that maybe I should write letters with crummy French so they won’t be disappointed or surprised when I open my mouth and they hear me speak French that is nowhere near as good as how I write. It should be interesting!
Well, it’s late, so am gonna go. Get well BOB. How are the Vols doing at basketball. Gators are ranked #5 right now, but with all the games in bball, they can move up or down pretty fast.

GATOR----While you are in Limoge will you be china shopping? Sounds like you will be an old pro at the French language when you get there. Good luck. BTW, the original phrasing I heard about the witch's bodily part was that it was in a "brass bra on a Saturday night." Now that would make it even colder if you ask me. LOL

Remember when you were skinny and in high school? If you are around 34 years old and anything like me, we were living in the days of skin tight designer jeans. I remember washing them and drying them in the dryer to shrink them up then yanking them up using various contortions until finally I would have to use a hanger to force the zipper up. If you breathed too deeply you risked explosion! Those were the days when these thighs and butt fit into Size 7 jeans and looked awesome in them. Well, this morning I put on a pair of Size 12's and was happy to see they weren't skin tight but they are a far cry from the Size 10's that I want to get into like JACK-K! Nowadays I put them on and wear them around the house before I go out so they AREN'T skin tight. Times and butts have sure changed! ;)
I lost 3lbs of that water weight since yesterday so that is a great thing. I stuck mostly to protein and made myself some very yummy chicken salad then served it on a bed of lettuce for lunch. Very satisfying! Glad to see those silly water pounds head for the hills.
JACK-K- Congrats on your new low of 162! :cb:
HEARTMOM- Sorry to hear about Boogie and his liver. My goodness, this must be so stressful on you and your family. I prayed for him when I read your post. Keep us updated.
QUILTER- Glad you are feeling at least a little better. You are right though, worry won't do your stomach or spirit a bit of good. You know where to leave it, Quilter. I am praying for you. :)
DEBELLI- Glad to see you are back to your determined SB self. I find these boards very motivating too. Sometimes when I am wavering, all I have to do is come and read some posts and I am instilled with new hope and desire to keep on. My family prefers soft tacos. Only one of my sons likes the hard ones so I buy small SGWW tortillas and that is what we use for them.
FILLISE- Sounds like you had a great weekend. I can't wait to see the pics. Make sure you post one of you all dressed up in your ball gown!
Wind chill here is down to -28 to -34 celcius. All week has been terribly cold. We have our woodstove and electric heat going just to make sure our pipes don't freeze. Someone in the town had that happen and it is a headache we don't need! The cold spell is supposed to end by the weekend and it will only be -10 to -15 celcius and then the windchill. But anything is better than what we have been having. The poor dog runs out to the washroom and is back in a flash, she doesn't even want to go out for that poor critter!

Good Thursday Morning Everyone:wave:
Didn't sleep to great last night, weird dreams seem to wake me up out of the blue! Hate when that happens.
We haven't gotten our next wave of cold air yet, but it's coming later today. It's actually not too bad outside, overcast and not too cool, about 60 degrees. That's sure going to change tonight, low of about 30 degrees:eek: You can be rest assured I'll be hogging the covers tonight and praying the heater in the house will kick in. Doesn't seem to be working right and since we rarely turn it on (maybe once a year, if that), I'm not about to have it checked out professionally, we can just bundle up in covers for the night or two!
Debating whether I want to go and push myself out and run this morning, it's been so long, a walk would be better, BUT, I feel a bit tired and I do have lots of stuff to do in the house (excuses, excuses), will give myself a few minutes to decide. Come Monday though, I just HAVE to get back in to the swing of things and get back to my walking. I think I'm going to shoot for 4 days a week, M-W-F-Sunday.
Was at the HFS yesterday and found a new item that I bought just since it was on sale and appears to be SB LEGAL. It's a pizza, they have 4-5 varieties and all the ingredients appear to be fine. The first ingredient on the crust info is WW flour, then SGWW flour, but doesn't say unbleached ww flour. Going to contact the company and see what they say and then will pass the info along.
QUILTER, hey, Paul has his vices and now you have a new jewelry vice. Can't wait to see what you're making! Are you just beading, or are you doing pieces that you can use solid findings in? Remember, I have thousands of rhinestones if you need any, that and brass findings (raw), among lots of other odds and ends. I think the scale idea has come because right now I don't want to know what I weigh and plus, I need to make a new goal of some kind so that didn't seem too hard. I couldn't come up with a good NY resolution to make this year, so I guess this can be one, though a little delayed. Say hi to Paul for me!
FRUIT, will have to see what people think. November would be a nice time of year, but I wonder, with holidays coming if that's a good time to do something. Right before Halloween until after the NY, it's hard for many people. Maybe we could think about spring? Or, possibly early Oct. Will have to put out the feelers and see who would be truly interested. How would DH feel about us converging on Chalet Lupe? I think a visit from some SB GALS is just what you need to kick your arse in to gear, but then again, you shouldn't have to wait that long. Will have to give you a telephone arse kicking. You can kick me back as well, until recently, I've not been too good either. As for NANCE, it's like she fell off the face of the earth, I haven't heard a thing from her since June 2002.
GATOR, I was trying to keep the witches tit covered, so I changed it to heart - not a bad substitute I think;) Keep warm this weekend! I think I'll reserve my energy and just do the one marathon a year, sure don't want to over-exert myself now! LOL! Good luck with the French. MICHAEL will be going to Orlando in March for some type of French competition. He loves the language!
GRACIOUS, I'm far from 34 years old now, but your jeans description brought memories back! I remember those days vividly and having to lie down on the bed to zip the jeans up. I can only imagine what I really must of looked like in those days with more than likely a huge tire around my middle, above the waist of the jeans. Even though I'm thinner now than I was back then, I still have that tire! I agree, time, butts, boobs, it's all changed!! You'll get in those 10's soon, I'm sure!
Will try and check in later. Trying to get ready for tomorrow. MICHAEL is having a bunch of kids over in the morning to film a scene for his movie. LAUREN is having a party tomorrow night with about a dozen kids, MICHAEL'S friend ALEX is spending 2 nights heree (he's brave to want to with knowing how Michael's bedroom looks-ghastly!) and Saturday MICHAEL is going to take his SAT'S. Computer should be free at some point along the way!!!

Good morning everyone. Guess we're all freezeing this morning... Can't believe how cold it is. I weighed this morning and lost .O5. A 1/2 lb. don't know why I'm going so slow but will just hang in there and see what happens. I was a little jealous that my DH lost 7 lbs. this week. LOL.... Really he's so proud and I'm so glad he can see what SB is all about...
Bob- Hope you're feeling better today. And hope you can stay tucked in bed until you're well..
CountryMom- Hang in there gal. I'm having a battle with the scale to.. Even though I'm eating right...
Mom2Marsh- Sorry about the migraine, I used to have them and those things are a nightmare.. Sure sounds like you're eating good... Way to go girl..
Jack-K- Hope you had a good girls night out. I got some red wine but I just hate the taste of it. I tried Merlot... Yuck... Wish I could find one I could like..
linworthlady- Howdy there!
heartmom- My prayers are with Boogie, you and your family... Sounds to me like you're one heck of a wonderful Mother....
Debilli- Wooie your running and running is making my head spin... You really stay busy.. Think I've lived in the woods so long I'm like back in time... I read an old romance novel... Just mindless but enjoyable reading. I haven't done that for along time. Sounds like Lauren had a good birthday. 15 what a good age to be. Its great your kids make good use of the computer. Sounds like you need to be a two computer household.. LOL... Wow 3 years on SB. My anniversery for 1 year is coming in March. And here I am still struggling with my weight. Half gone but not all..
The Quilter- I have one of Iyanla books here I can't remember which one. I love to hear her. Has she been on Oprah lately? I hadn't seen her for awhile.. Sorry about your stomach. Sounds like if you're taking the purple pill it might be acid reflux. I have that but its funny SB seems to help it. I would love to see your jewlery. What a wonderful talent you must have..
fruitloupe- It must be the winter blahs that make it hard to lose... I've still got 2.5 lbs. of Christmas weight to lose... Makes ya want to get mad...
Gatorgal- Stay warm.. You sound really busy....
Well think I'll go put some bread in the bread machine. And yep its SB legal... Thought this cold day was a good day to bake it..

Good Thursday Morning
All you southern gals, quit your B***ting about the cold. It is 7 here today with a wc of 20 below. They have closed all the schools b/c they say kids can get frostbite in 30 minutes. Tomorrow it is going to be 0.
Dinner was good and fun. I had a steak with blue cheese melted on top (didn't know b.c. melted) on top of a portabello mushroom. Veggies (which included snow peas which were wonderful) and a salad. Due to the snow, there wasn't many people there so we sat there all night until we were the only people left and they told us we could stay until closing. So we did.
Heartmom, It sure is a good thing you know your child so well. Sending many prayers up for him. Sure hope all is ok.
Mom2Marsh, maybe ifyour DH sees how well you are doing on SB and how good it makes you feel, he will join in. Mine really has no choice at home, cuase he has to eat what I cook and I don't buy anything I can't have. He doesn't follow real strict. He doesn't eat potatoes, but eats 2 sandwiches for lunch and still drinks his beer.
Deb, You must be so proud of the kids doing so well in school. That sure is a big worry not to have. Glad Lauren had a good BD and loved her T. WTG on deciding to put that scale away. You are right, we can tell my our clothes and how we feel. Journaling seems to really work for you. Glad you decided to get back to it. Setting a few new goals will help motivate you and then you will see results in the wt loss too. I really think we have learned something with SB, which is more than I can say for any other diet. We know our limits and what we have to do. At least we know where to come back to and what to do. I am so much more conscience of my food now even if it is something I shouldn't eat. You give us a lot of strength. Let us know about those pizzas. Best wishes to Michael on his SAT's. I'm sure he will ace them with no problem though.
Toni, WTG on the 1/2 pound. Take it and run. Don't you hate the way men lose so much faster. Not fair. The only red wine I can drink is Lambrusco Riunite. It is cheap only $3.50/bottle. It is not dry at all. Probably not legal, but all I can do. Sometimes I drink Zifendale.
Quilter, I sure hope that medicine works on your pain and you don't have to go through any tests. Our bunco is different. We normally just sit around and talk all night and around 10:00 decide we had better roll the dice to see who wins the prizes. We ususall just roll and add up the dice that way. Our group is very diverse. They are friends but not the friends that we run around with on a constant basis so it is fun. That's not the 3 mile I have. Does she use those ball weights? she does in mine and now she has one out using a band. I don't think it is hard. If you don't want to use the wts or the full motion of arm movements you don't have to. Everytime I do it I say I'm only going to do 2 miles and I end up doing the whole thing. You do work up a sweat though.
Fruit, Just take 1 hour at a time. Don't get discouraged. Only YOU can make yourself do this. Do it for you cause you are worth it. Keep on here, it really helps. Good or bad.
Gator, I really admire you taking French lessons. You are doing so well with it. It is such a beautiful language. Both my DD's took it in school, but I don't think they could utter a word of it now. BTW, someone told me that Billy Donovan has a clause in his contract that he can cancel it if the job at UK comes open. I find that hard to believe but I can hope.
Gracious, I got such a kick out of your jeans and butts rendition. I remember those days, but didn't participate too much as I was always on the heavy side. Sure glad 3 of those water pounds are gone. The rest will follow suit. Yum, I think I'll make some chicken salad. Sounds good.
Gotta to get some work done. Be back later.

Bonjour, Michael. Ça va? Est-ce que vous aimez la langue français? Moi, aussi. Mais, je pense que vous pouvez le parler mieux que moi. Etudiez bein! Ciao, Gail
Gracious, I actually was in my best shape in my life when I was in my 30’s. I fit into size 4!! And had muscles. I was working out 3 times a week with weights and running, not jogging, back then. Those were the days. You’ll get down to that size 10. Just keep on going with SB.
Jack-K--I don’t know about Billy’s contract. I hope he never leaves. He’s great fun and we even drive up to Gainesville for the basketball games at “the House of Horrors. I don’t think we’ve played Ky yet. We usually go up for that one. Stay warm.
Well, I’ve picked a wheelbarrow full of grapefruit off our tree. My DH will wheel it in tonight because it has a flat tire and is HEAVY, to boot. I covered one plant--a hibiscus that would freeze in our projected 28?. I am gonna go out and get in my 3 miles. It’s not too bad yet , just cloudy and gloomy looking. Take care, all.

Heartmom- I’m praying very hard for your Boogie. I really admire all you do for your little one (I know we have another mom on here whose little one has heart problems, this goes for you too!) Did you know that CHOP was named the #1 children’s hospital in the country by Child magazine? I really wish we were near it!
Deb- We’re supposed to get all the way down to 13 today! I’ve been threatening my husband that I’m going to move to Miami if this keeps up. I moved to Florida (from Virginia) to get away from the cold. I guess I didn’t go far enough south!
Not much else to say today. I’m going to weigh in a few minutes (I use the church’s scale, still not sure why we have one). I know it’s a day late, but better than never! I’m really hoping that I’ll be seeing the 170s real soon!
Love and hugs to all,
Katrina

It is sooooo cold here--25 degree outside--and it is almost noon! Tonight we are supposed to get into the single digits. Brrrrr.
I know all of you who live in the north are laughing your fannies off at us southern gils whining--but we are wimps! We cannot take the cold--heck, it's why we live in the south!
I'm in my church office and it is freezing up here. I'm fighting a cold, so I don't know how long I'm going to be able to stand it up here.
Gail--I'm a big BB fan, but must admit that I was more concerned with NC State's win over Duke last night than Auburn's loss to UK. Go Wolfpack! When is your daughter's wedding? I know everything will be just gorgeous.
Jackie--I went out to dinner last night too, but didn't do nearly as well as you did! We went Mexican again and I had the ritas and chips. Also a shrimp enchlada which was wonderful--if not exactly OP. We have too many Mexican restaurants--I think they should be banned. I can do OK at almost every other type of restaurant, but not Mexican. AS soon as ther set those darn chips down I'm toast.
Deb--you are very optimistic about your ability to ever see the computer again! It sounds like you are going to have a house full of kids for the next few days--good luck!
Gracious--I'm older than you are, but my skin tight jeans from my youth also zipped about two inches below my belly button--and nothing hung over!
I'm freezing to death in this office! I've got to go find a warmer spot to work! I'll try to get to everyone else tonight!

Laurie-So sorry that Boogie is having trouble. I am praying that he doesn't need a cath.
Deb-My baby is 15 too. Sad, huh? I think your house will be so much fun. Before we moved I really enjoyed having kids around, but now no kids since Steven has not made any friends. I assume you won't have to cook for them haha? Good for you for putting away the scale if that is what works for you. I'll join you on getting more water into our bods. It's harder for me when it is chilly outside. I bought Agave at Earthfare-around $4 for an 8 oz bottle. I haven't tried it yet, although I did buy the ingredients for your cheesecake this a.m.
Quilter-how is your stomach? Did the purple pill help? Your jewelry sounds so pretty. ?Was this bead and chain class at a craft store?
Gator-Thanks for the advice on the triscuit crust. I think I will skip it. It sounds like you will be in Europe soon?>? Good luck on learning French. You sure have a big grapefruit harvest. Do you eat all of them?
Gracious-I have the same memories of zipping up jeans--I used to lay on my bed, and my mom or brother would pull the zipper up with pliers :) Pretty ridiculous to me now. And back then I thought I was heavy even though I wasn't. It's so cold here that I can't get motivated to exercise. I'll have to tomorrow-I've just been sitting around today. Send me some motivation.
Jackie--steak with blue cheese sounds divine. I had she crab soup last night with a shrimp caesar salad. I'm trying to get some of these pounds off.
Susan-It is very cold in Charleston too. The weather is all over the news--it even snowed today which is very unusual. Are you going to send pictures of your gown:?

LOL I am laughing at all these recollections of skin tight jeans! Weren't we silly?!

Gracious- Shoot! I still WEAR my skin tight jeans. I just now top them with a big shirt to cover the tummy rolling over the top of them! They do look kinda scary if I don't have the shirt on yet :fr:
Well, I managed to hit the scale and I'm down 2 pounds this week! That makes a total of 6 since the beginning of the year and a total of 24 since I started SB. Y'all are so great!

Greetings all. Missed yesterday DH birthday and he had day off so didn't get near computer.
WIW result. stayed same. not worried had big loss last week and not really on track so ok. Trying not to put any expectations on myself so the pressure doesn't get too much and send me off into binge territory.
Mom2Marsh. We never really planned for 3 children it just worked out that way and as much as some days are impossible I love them dearly and wouldn't have it any other way. My life without them would be so empty and now it is full and overflowing.
Debelli. Quiet day planned next week for birthday. On Friday and it's just me and 1 yr old as everyone else at work, school, preschool. I'm looking forward to a "me" day and doing some things I want to do. Hope the weathers fine as we might have a picnic tea. Haven't heard of Jok N Al.
Jack-K. I well remember using a coat hanger to do up the tight jeans but I can't remember what we did if we had to go to the toilet!!! Must have been a case of no intake means no outgoing!
Have a good day all
Catch you later

Good afternoon.
It's been pretty quiet here today and on the board. Getting ready to head home in the freezing cold. No plans other than working out and sitting in front of the fireplace. May have to do my walking tape just to warm up.
No plans for dinner. I hate when I don't plan my meals. Soup sounds good. Nothing heavy.
Gator, Wow a grapefruit tree, That would be nice cause I love them.
Fillise, If I know we are going to a Mexican rest. I take triscuits to dip in the salsa and cheese. It really helps to have something, but not near as good as those chips and ritas.
Mom2Marsh, 2 lbs is great and 26 is awesome. Keep up the good work, pretty soon there won't be roll over those skintight jeans
Linworth, I don't like shrimp, but since you do I hope you enjoyed your salad and soup. Soup is great on days like this one.
ACW, staying the same is ok. It takes your body time to adjust.
Have a great evening everyone. Try to stay warm.

Well it keeps me off the streets:D
Trishieloo: my late Dad served in WW2 and my husband was in the USN (been out since 1996). I've always been very concious of who I owe my freedom to, and the events of the past 18 months have made me even more so.
:drill:
LinworthLady: the muffins turned out great! They're rather dense, but still good! My husband and I finished those suckers off real fast! :ink:
Debelli: I paid $2.29 for one bottle of Agave. Not the biggest bottle in the world though. My Organic Market is not that far from Bethesda; just take 355 North to Parklawn Drive and turn right. You'll pass White Flint Mall and go up a slight hill. My Organic Market is located in a small strip mall at the bottom of this hill right before a road called Boiling Brook. :goodvibes
Lessee, what thrilling thing have I done today? Pretty busy at work, but I did go out for my daily lunchtime walk. Not sure if I'll walk the dogs tonight. Have to wash clothes, and I do have a treadmill. If any of you have ever walked dogs on wide-open school fields, then you know how the wind can cut through you like a knife. Last year I bought a down coat for $17 for just that reason. That thing is toasty warm but a :censored: to drive in! How'd I get a down coat for $17? I got it at a cleaners--someone took it in for cleaning and never picked it up. Their loss is my gain! :dancer:

Dawn- My dad was in the USN for 20 years. I pretty much grew up in Virginia while he was station in Norfolk. I think I'm one of the only people in the world who actually liked living there!

Fillise--I know you were happy about that win. Always good to beat the Dookies, eh!
You're probably thinking about Monet's daughter--It is your daughter, isn't it, Monet. Unfortunately, my daughter is not engaged, and there's no one in sight. I'd love to have a garden wedding for her in our back yard.
Well, back to the French. I'll probably get home about 10pm because my class already runs late.
Stay warm everyone.

EVENING EVERY BUDDY!!!
I went back to work today, but the belly is still aching :dizzy:
I just ate supper and I have a knawing sensation in there...I just pray this isn't an ulcer! Could be gall bladder, since it's settled on the right side under the rib cage...I've got to go pee in a cup tomorrow....we now know it's not a virus...that's even more scary :(
I'm getting ready to climb up in the four poster, didn't sleep last night, just flopped around all night not being able to get comfortable!
Skeeter got up with a bad cough this morning...sounds like croup!
It's a never ending battle with this fur child of mine!
I'm sorry I can't get to everyone....I just don't feel good...at all!

Hi everyone...just a quick question......long story short: I'm on fertility meds & have gained 31 lbs in 15 months (and I'm still not pregnant yet), so I am having to accept the fact that as long as I'm on these drugs, I'm not going to lose any weight & praying very hard not to keep gaining. No matter what I've tried, it just doesn't seem to help and I do try to get at least 3 hours of exercise in every week. So.... what I'm trying to do is to concentrate more on being healthy instead of losing weight.
My question is simple: Since It seems that I'm not going to lose weight, but definitely like the sugar buster way of life....are the no-sugar products ok for me? or should I not eat them at all?
Thanks in advance for your help!!!

GATOR: My daughter got married last June. I think she must be thinking of Jack K's daughter, who is getting married in May, I believe.
Here is a Friday Funny a bit early:
The Scientist
God is sitting in heaven when a scientist prays to Him. "God, we don't
need you anymore. Science has finally figured out a way to create life
out of nothing - in other words, we can now do what you did in the
beginning."
"Oh, is that so? Tell Me..." replies God. "Well," says the scientist,
"we can take dirt and form it into the likeness of you and breath life
into it, thus creating man." "Well, that's very interesting...show Me."
So the scientist bends down to the earth and starts to mold the soil
into the shape of a man.
"No, no, no..." interrupts God, "Get your own dirt."

Hi, All. I'm a newbie. I have been on Atkins for 3 months and stayed faithful..given up coffee, added excercise (now up to 5x per week) didn't have ONE Christmas cookie and I just am not losing....maybe I lose 1 lb/month in a good month. Atkins worked for me before, but now....not. I have read the SB Book...am wondering if the increase in veg/fruit and reduction in fat is what I need. has anyone else been thru this or have any insight?

Hey everyone!
Had a better day today - but not perfect! Started working again at my 2nd job - so I'm pooped! Tonight we had a float meeting. We are getting ready for Mardi Gras again- can't wait. This year our float is E.T. I'll be sure to take lots of pictures for you!
DEB: You just need to make a tape of the "speech" and just play it on my answering machine! I don't think hubby will mind if we have Loupe's Lodge open for the gathering!!! It will be fun!
So, did you get all of that? If it's wrong - you can blame the English - French translation website! hahaha - you didn't think I actually knew all of that stuff! I said I can read what you write - but I can't write it!! hahahaha :D
Ok ladies - got to get to bed!

HiedieHo All!
I am so bummed! I just wrote a nice long post, I saved a long the way as I made each entry. The computer went down and I lost it all!!!!! How could it? I saved for Pete's sake!!!!
I am too tired from sitting here s long to go back through the board and do it all over again!
Basically it's this.
YELLOW: Have the operation, why prolong the agony? QUILT and jewelry makers: What fun I used to make shell jewelry when I was younger, also floral arrangements that I framed, used to sell them. When I married I made mty attendants sets of earrings, bracelets and necklaces. HEART: Prayers for Boogie. QUILT: If Nexiu, doesn't work ask about Protonix, that's what I take and it really has helped. BOB and someone else: Sounds like Restless Leg Syndrom, can be very annoying. DEB: Your anniversary post was great! FILLISE: what an exciting life you lead. MONET: A good thing for depression is this board, I always get a lift when I come here. MOM2: HAven't met you bbut a belated welcome.
There were others I can't remember!
I also teased the southern belles about their being cold. I must still have my mountain blood, Louisianians don't know mountains, I wear jeans and a short sleeve Tshirt and everyone else is dressed to go skiing! You'd think it was freeziong or something. Now our Canadian friends know cold!
Am tired, enough is enough. Still mad about the post loss, I saved damn it!
See you tomorrow.

It is finally Friday. I leave this afternoon for a Ladies Winter Retreat with a couple of girls from our church. It should really be a fun time but I know it is going to be food, food, food! They have awesome buffets at every meal but last year when I went the buffets were a wide variety of carbs and little else. I will cope and if I come back with a few pounds I know I can lose them...again. I will try not to though.
I am down all those water pounds again so that is good.
SEF- You are so right! We CANADIANS do know COLD !
JACK-K- Regarding those skin tight jeans again...as I recall, once we were out and about wearing them for awhile they did give a little which allowed us to pry them back on, zipper them up with lots of breath holding while still standing in the bathroom stall! That was one reason why we used to dry them til all shrunk nice and tight and put them on only the last minute before leaving the house-so they wouldn't stretch before everyone saw us! Pathetic!
BARBC- Welcome to the SB board! SB is a great way to eat to lose weight and to just eat healthy. I have done Atkins and lost weight on it but then turned to SB when I stalled for numerous months. I immediately lost 5 more lbs and have found that eating SB way is easier and healthier and just plain more normal! However, I am a bit of a drip and I still bounce back and forth between SB and Atkins kind of eating. I guess I do a combination of it now because I don't eat on plan perfectly like I used to. If I had more control, it would be SB only and just stick with it and exercise. I hope this works for you. The ladies on this board are awesome and full of good advice for eating so ask away and I am certain they will help you.
MONET- Loved your FF! Nice to see you. :)
My Friday Funny:
A gynecologist had become fed up with malpractice insurance and was on the verge of being burned out. Hoping to try another career where skillful hands would be beneficial, he decided to change careers and become a mechanic.
He found out from the local technical college what was involved,
signed up for evening classes, attended diligently, and learned all he could. When the time for the practical exam approached, the gynecologist prepared carefully for weeks, and completed the exam with tremendous skill.
When the results came back, he was surprised to find that he had
obtained a score of 150%. Fearing an error, he called the instructor, saying "I don't want to appear ungrateful for such an outstanding result, but I was wondering if there had been an error which needed adjusting."
The instructor said, "During the exam, you took the engine apart
perfectly, which was worth 50% of the total mark. You put the engine back together again perfectly, which is also worth 50% of the mark." The instructor went on to say," I gave you an extra 50% because you did all of it through the muffler."

GRACIOUS: Your FF is hilarious! I copied it and sent it to a friend who is a labor and delivery nurse...
BARBC: I too did Atkins, and did not lose. I had lost a lot of weight on it a number of years ago, but when I tried it about three years ago, nothing. I have lost more on SugarBusters, tho it is very slow. I would not lose on it either, without my doctors help. I take a number of medications to help. I suggest you try SB. It is very healthy, and easy to follow. The principles are somewhat the same, SB just allows more healthy things like fruit and veggies. If you do not lose on SB, get your thyroid checked. I have read an article recently that says the thyroid needs a certain number of carbs a day to convert T4 into T3. That may be the reason some people just can't lose on Atkins. Their thyroid is out of whack, and eating no carbs does not help. I might add that I HAVE to exercise, or I don't lose anything because of my thyroid problems. I hope you find SB helpful.

Morning Every Buddy!!!
I'm still puny, but I'm at work....Just wanted to post this for Jackie.
I thought of you when I ready this today.
Have a good day everyone!!
Black and Bleu Chicken
3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
Cajun seasoning (buy this in the spice aisle)
3 tablespoons butter
1/4 lb. bleu cheese, crumbled
Start a large, heavy-bottomed skillet heating over medium-high heat. In the meanwhile, one at a time, place each chicken breast in a heavy zipper-lock plastic bag, and using a meat tenderizing hammer, a regular hammer, or whatever blunt object comes to hand (I use a 3-pound dumbbell!), pound each breast till it's about 1/4" thick all over - this should take about 30 seconds per breast. Sprinkle both sides of each pounded breast with the Cajun seasoning. Melt the butter in the skillet, and add your chicken breasts. Saute for 4-5 minutes per side, or until done through. When they're just about done, sprinkle the crumbled bleu cheese over the chicken breasts, dividing it evenly between all three. Cover the skillet for a minute more, to let the cheese melt, and serve. 3 servings, each with 2 grams of carb and 36 grams of protein.

TGIF!
It's 5 here today. Brrr.. Got home last night and worked out and then did the 3 miles tape. Every time I start I think I will do only 2 and always end up finishing it. I was pooped though. Went to bed early.
Not much going on here.
Dawn, you are so right about who we owe our freedom to. It just breaks my heart seeing all these men and women shippin gout right now. It is so scary and theya re so brave. My prayers are always with them. Good for you doing your walking a lunch. I hope to do that here when Spring finally arrives. Great deal on the coat. DIdn't know cleaners did that.
Gator, Hope your studying is going good.
Bob, Wish you felt better. Sure hope it is nothing serious. Girlfriend you have had a time between your illnesses and your mom's. How is Kate doing BTW? Thanks for the recipe. I will give it a try. ALways looking for something to do with chicken.
Lindarn, If you are talking about sf candies and such I would avoid them as much as possible. Maybe a treat once in awhile, but they can cause sugar cravings. You are smart to try to be healthy while on the fertility drugs. You don't want to add weight to your problem. Good luck.
BarbC, welcome to SB. I can't answer your question, but I do know that Atkins is not something you can do forever and SB is. Good luck.
Fruit, Gosh Mardi Gras time already. I'm surprised that you ahven't started before now, but it is later this year. Get some rest.
Sef, computers can drive you crazy. Just glad you got to atleast say Hi.
Adams, drop in when you can. I will check out the site.
Gracious, those were the days! Have fun on your retreat. You just got rid of those pounds so don't put anymore on to take back off. You can do it.
Monet, loved the joke.
Have a great day, Be back later

Here are some FF's:
HEALTHY LIVING:
Q: I've heard that cardiovascular exercise can prolong life. Is this true?
A: Your heart is only good for so many beats, and that's it. Don't waste them on exercise. Everything wears out eventually. Speeding up your heart will not make you live longer; that's like saying you can extend the life of your car by driving it faster. Want to live longer? Take a nap.
Q: Should I cut down on meat and eat more fruits and vegetables?
A: You must grasp logistical efficiencies. What does a cow eat? Hay and corn. And what are these? Vegetables. So a steak is nothing more than an efficient mechanism of delivering vegetables to your system. Need grain? Eat chicken. Beef is also a good source of field grass (green leafy vegetable). And a pork chop can give you 100% of your recommended daily allowance of vegetable slop.
Q: Is beer or wine bad for me?
A: Look, it goes to the earlier point about fruits and vegetables. As we all know, scientists divide everything in the world into three categories: animal, mineral and vegetable. We all know that beer and wine are not animal, and they are not on the periodic table of elements, so that only leaves one thing, right? My advice: Have a burger and a beer and enjoy your
liquid vegetables.
Q: How can I calculate my body/fat ratio?
A: Well, if you have a body, and you have body fat, your ratio is one to one. If you have two bodies, your ratio is two to one, etc.
Q: What are some of the advantages of participating in a regular exercise program?
A: Can't think of a single one, sorry. My philosophy is: No Pain - Good.
Q: If I stop smoking, will I live longer?
A: Nope. Smoking is a sign of individual expression and peace of mind. If you stop, you'll probably stress yourself to death in record time.
Q: Aren't fried foods bad for you?
A: You're not listening! Foods are fried these days in vegetable oil. In fact, they're permeated in it. How could getting more Vegetables be bad for you?
Q: What's the secret to healthy eating?
A: Thicker gravy.
Q: Will sit-ups help prevent me from getting a little soft around the middle?
A: Definitely not! When you exercise a muscle, it gets bigger. You should only be doing sit-ups if you want a bigger stomach.
Q: Is chocolate bad for me?
A: Are you crazy? HELLO ... Cocoa beans ... Another vegetable!!! "It's the best feel-good food around!"

Fruit and Gator- Okay, will you two stop it already! I took three years of French while in college (I finished only five years ago) and you guys have completely lost me! :dizzy: I didn’t know I could forget an entire language that quickly. I guess if you don’t use it, you lose it!
Bob- I’m praying very hard for you. I know that things like this can be SOOOO scary!
Adams- Sorry you won’t be here as much. Very cool new board! I’ve registered and posted! I can use all the support I can get.
Gracious- Way to go get rid of that water weight. You are an inspiration in perseverance. Have fun on that retreat! I hope your spirit is fed by some time with your Sisters in Christ. I got some looks from my co-workers when I ready your FF! That is just too funny!
Jack-K- I’ve printed your FF to share with my SB buddy in the office, she will LOVE it!
Diz- Glad to have you with us! Good plan waiting to weigh-in.
We actually had LEGAL goodies in the office this am! One of the other secretaries brought in a delicoius breakfast cassorole to share Yum!
Drove my new car to work this morning (Well, it's new to ME!). My parents got a new car and for Christmas they gave dh and I their old one. We're now a two-car family! :cb:
Well, must run and actually get some work done today!

ARGH!
I was nicely in to a post when MICHAEL said he needed to print out something on the computer, so I step aside, come back, and POOF! My post has disappeared! Geez!! I can't win for nothing!
Okay, will try to start again. It's VERY cold here today. Okay, stop laughing at those of us down here in Florida, it's darn tootin cold for SOFLA. When I started this post is was 37 and with the wind gusts feels like 26. I thought I would be able to sleep in late today, no school. Figured I'd stay warm under my toasty covers, :nono: Woke up, but layed in bed until the door bell rang at 8am. MICHAEL has 6 kids for what's called a GROUP 4 PROJECT that they've been working on for months and serves as 25% of a grade for the grading period. Well, I almost freaked when one of the girls brings in these 4 dishes that are growning maggots in them! As she's mentioning that she's worried that there's some kind of bio hazard, growing all this bacteria, I'm dying as she places them on my kitchen table!:yikes: They're sealed and all, but still! I made her put them in ziploc backs and washed down the table (once so far). What's even more gross, these samples were swabbed from the Metrorail, people mover that we have here in Miami, fro various areas like railings, seats, etc. OMG! Now the kids know why I say not to touch these areas and then tough their faces, eyes, etc.! I'm listening to them in the kitchen saying how disgusting it is! It is!!!!!
Anyhow, then, come 10am there's a bunch of kids coming for MICHAEL'S filming of the movie he's making. They are shooting a scene in our driveway. I don't know how they'll work this out, they have to wear clothes out there that will fit in with other scenes not being filmed til later, til it's warmer. I have to get ready and go pick up a kid to bring him here that doesn't have a ride - heck, that means I have brave the FRIGID COLD!!!!
Okay, have to run, want to get at least this much posted as I don't have a clue when I can continue this. Will get to individual replies later.
Stay warm everyone, and have a great weekend!

Freezing here--wind chill was -10 when I went out to get the paper this morning. I had to run water in all the faucets last night so the pipes wouldn't freeze. Throat is sore, coughing my head off, TOM came yesterday---SOMEBODY PLEASE WAKE ME UP WHEN IT IS JULY!!!!!!!
Love the friday funnies!!! It is so much warmer when I am laughing!
Deb--motherhood--what an adventure! When all my friends had cute and adorable little babies, I wanted one so badly--now that they are all moody teenagers, I'm thinking that I'm doing just fine w/o kids! Seriously, I would have loved to have been a mom, but God seemed to have other things in mind for me, and I am fine with that. Besides--he did send me the worlds most adorable nieces to spoil!:D
Mom2marsh, Gator and Missy--I have a Ph.D. and French was the one subject I could not master. I took in Jr. High, Sr. High, College and grad school. You'd think I'd be fluent by now--but nooooooooo. Barely passed it each time I took it. Merde!
Disney--WTG! Hang in there--often the way you feel and the way your clothes fit is a better indicator than the scale--which loves to torture us.
BOB--Hope you are feeling better soon. Maybe you are allergic to the cold! I know I am--I'm in a pretty p***y mood until about mid-March when it begins to warm up for good. I hope the Dr. is able to find out what is wrong and that it can be fixed in a jiffy. Give Skeeter a scratch for me!
Adams--pop in anytime--you are always welcome!
SEF--I'm looking for my next needlepoint or cross-stitch project. nay suggestions (just no Christmas patterns--ready to stitch something other than Santa Claus). Actually I'd like to do something with black cats in honor of Miss Belle.
BarbC--Welcome! This is a friendly place, and we look forward to getting to know you!
Monet--Well whoever it is that has a daughter getting married and has 350 people coming--GOOD LUCK! Is it any warmer in Atlanta? My poor little heat pump is working as hard as it can to keep the house at 62 degrees! Belle and I are snuggling a lot to keep warm.
Heartmom--Please let us know that the Dr. says about Boogie. I hope he does not have to have the cath. I'll keep him in my thoughts and prayers.
Got to go--time to get to work!
Have a great day everyone!

FILLISE: I don't think it is warmer here... but then I have not ventured out at all! I didn't even have to go pick my daughter up from track practice yesterday. She came in with running shorts and a short sleeve t-shirt on, just about blue! She had been running 3 miles outside after school for practice! ack! I hope she took sweats today, but I am willing to bet she will run in shorts again. I am sure she got the insanity genes from her father's side of the family..... I have the electric mattress pad on high and am sticking close to it. Taking a 'mono' day...reading and keeping warm. :)
Here is another FF:
A young boy had just gotten his driving permit. He asked his father, who was a minister, if they could discuss his use of the car. "I'll make a deal with you," said his father. "You bring your grades up, study your Bible a little, get your hair cut, and then we'll talk."
A month later the boy came back and again asked his father if they could discuss his use of the car. "Son, I'm real proud of you. You've brought your grades up and
you've studied your Bible, but you didn't get hair cut!"
"You know, Dad, I've been thinking about that. Samson had long hair, Moses had long hair, Noah had long hair, and even Jesus had long hair."
"Yes son, and they walked everywhere they went!"

Deb- Stay warm! I actually think Michael’s project sounds fascinating but then again, it’s not on my kitchen table! :)
Fillise- I like you more and more with each post. :goodvibes I’m an avid cross-stitcher myself. I’m definitely not a fast one though. I have a beautiful peacock xstitch I started 3 years ago when I quit smoking. I’m still not done with it. It’s the biggest project I’ve ever undertaken. 24 aida, each stitch covers two blocks, different colored strands in each stitch, about 18”x30”…
WOO HOO- just noticed I'm no longer a "Junior Member" :cb:

HiedieHo All!
To quote Professor Higgins, "Damn, damn, damn!" I just lost another post! It happened the same as last night. I clicked on save in word pad and down went the computer! Oh well, such is life!!
If you don't count the computer snafu it's a beautiful day in the neighborhood. It's sunny and the air is BRISK! It is so chilly my DIL called from work and asked me to turn on the pool pump. I went out and did so, the pump made a terrible noise and I couldn't see the water sloshing around inside. I decided to give it a minute or two, didn't want to burn it out, I went and stood by the pool to watch the ports. Finally a little bubble appeared, a long pause and then another until finally a huge explosion of water and bubbles, a few more chugs and it began to run normally. Apparently it was partially frozen and I was hoping the force from the pump would break it up, which it did.
I will admit to all you southern gals, that standing by the pool in my muumuu with barefeet was a little CHILLY!!!
Another thing to make the day not so perfect........changing the bed, washing and cleaning. While the washer is doing it's thing I put some some sausage and sauerkraut on to cook. It smelled so good......and tastes good too!
JACKK: You beat me to the bunch with the Bear joke. My NH group enjoyed it. I printed out the others to take in for them. They'll love the golf one!
FILLISE: I have an adorable "I love cats" I think it's called. I will check and see. If you are willing to send me your snail address I will send you a copy, it's old and out of print so is okay to copy. I will check on other cats too.
MONET: Cute!
MOM2: I'm just as avid, your project sounds awesome! I did that one time with a Black Swan, started and then set it aside because I was moving, about three years later I just finished it, now have to frame it. But that is unusual for me, I stitch until it's done!
Okay I have a couple of FFs too."Cash, check or charge?" I asked, after folding items the woman wished to purchase. As she fumbled for her wallet I noticed a remote control for a television set in her purse.
"So, do you always carry your TV remote?" I asked.
"No," she replied, "but my husband refused to come shopping with me, so I figured this was the most evil thing I could do to him."
UNDERSTANDING WOMEN
I know I'm not going to understand women. I'll never understand how you
can take boiling hot wax, pour it onto your upper thigh, rip the hair out by
the root, and still be afraid of a spider.
HEY! WAIT A MINUTE...
I said to my wife, "Guess what I heard in the pub? They reckon the
milkman has made love to every woman in our road except one." And she said, "I'll bet it's that stuck-up Sylvia at number 23."
DIFFERENT IDEAS
A couple are lying in bed. The man says, "I am going to make you the
happiest woman in the world!" The woman says, dryly, "I'll miss you."
NO CABBAGE FOR YOU
Two elderly ladies meet at the launderette after not seeing one another
for some time. After inquiring about each other's health one asked how
the other's husband was doing. "Oh! Ted died last week. He went out to the garden to dig up a cabbage for dinner, had a heart attack and dropped down dead, right there in the middle of the vegetable patch!"
"Oh dear! I'm very sorry," replied her friend.
"What did you do?"
"
Opened a can of peas instead."

For those of you (I know there are some younguns here) who never saw the Burma Shave signs, here is a quick lesson in our history of the 1930's and '40's. Before the Interstates, when everyone drove the old 2 lane roads, Burma Shave signs would be posted all over the countryside in farmers' fields. They were small red signs with white letters. Five signs, about 100 feet apart, each containing 1 line of a 4 line couplet....... and the obligatory 5th sign advertising Burma Shave, a popular shaving cream. Here are a few of the actual signs:
_
DON'T LOSE YOUR HEAD TO GAIN A MINUTE YOU NEED YOUR HEAD YOUR BRAINS ARE IN IT. *** Burma Shave***
_
DROVE TOO LONG DRIVER SNOOZING WHAT HAPPENED NEXT IS NOT AMUSING. ***Burma Shave***

Just have time for a quick hello to everyone. It was cold last night but supposed to start warming back up. The sun is shining, though, and it's not too windy.
What's everyone doing for the Super Bowl. We're having a couple of friends over and planning some nice legal snacks. Here's hoping dirty martini's are quasi-legal. BOB, I'm having one for you since it was mentioned at the get-together that you do like them just a little bit (Sonya blabbed!!!).
Hope everybody has a great week-end and stays warm.
GO BUCS!!!!
See ya,

Hi y'all. Long time, no post. I have been checking in everyday but I'm way behind. Anyway, WIW showed no changed from last week. I'm afraid that played a little with my mind today. We had a potluck at school and I indulged in the brownies. Four weeks of being near 100%, too. :( Oh well, onward. Like I said, until today my eating has been great. I've also been walking 2 miles every day at school. The district has started a wellness program and teams are competing to have the highest total miles by the end of the school year. I'll be happy when the results from good eating and exercising show up. Sorry I can't reply to everyone. I'm just tooooo far behind.
Oh yeah. I mentioned last week about my 3rd graders and their UIL competition. We earned 1st place.:D It's a team event, so all three of them got medals. We also had the top three scores, so I was very proud of them.

Good afternoon,
Friday is almost over. Yeah!
Going to happy hour as usual. Probably go to one of the couple's house afterwards. They have the most precious twins 18 months old. I just love to play with them.
No big plans for the weekend. That's unusual. Have a super bowl party to go to but don't think we are going after all.
Disney Blonde, I think your clothes being bigger and how you feel means more than that scale. Love your self-control. Good luck.
Mom2Marsh, Yeah for the legal food this morning. Don't you love it when people think about you too. Congrats on your new car. I used to love to xstitch, before the eyes went. Loved the pic of Marsh. What a cutie.
Deb, guess you didn't have to worry about eating breakfast for lunch today with those maggots on yuor table. Have a great day with all those kids there :yikes: and then you have more girls coming tonight for Laurne? I'd be taking valium by now.
Fillise, I've got 2 grown daughters you can have for awhile. Theya re driving me crazy for sure. Boy do I feel stupid knowing you have a Ph D. I will have to proof my typing for sure now. It is me who has the DD getting married in May. I'm gonna need all the luck I can get and money too.
Monet, loved the FF I was really laughing.
Sef,love dthe joke about the remote, fat cells and I must old as dirt.
Trish, just remember everything in moderation on those martinis. Good for you having legal snacks prepared. I'm pulling for the Bucs too. DH os a Raider fan so I always take the other team, just makes it more fun. We usually make a little bet :censored:
Music, Congrats to your class on the competition. Those brownies were just calling your name weren't they. Good to hear from you. Keep in touch. Al lthat walking should show some results.
Have a great weekend. Hope I get to check in sometime Sat or Sun.

EVENING EVERY BUDDY!!! :(
BOB is just down right not feeling good. The temp is back up, and even my lips are hot....A woman with hot lips can be good, or in my situation.....BAD!!!!
I went to the Dr this morning and they made me pee in a cup....
For all of you who know what BETADINE is, well that was the
color I shot in that cup :?: For those of you who dont????It's THIS COLOR!!!!
They put me on a 7 day antibiotic, and I have to pick up a script for PYRIDIUM which will make it even more orange...this drug cleans out my kidneys. My belly is still hurting on the right side,
and I just don't have any desire to eat! I've lost 6 lbs since Monday. Sure not the way I wanted to do it!
I'm putting my big arse to bed, with my big old water jug, prop the pillows and I know I'll be asleep within minutes!
TRISH....make sure you stuff the olives with either gorgenzola or blue cheese....that's what makes the whole drink! Ask for extra...
We ate a whole plate of them!
Katrina...thanks for the prayers...I don't know what this is, and to quote the Dr, the culture was positive for many things, they just didn't know what and had to send it to a lab...WOE IS BOB!!
Gals...thanks for all the good wishes...I'll try to check in tomorrow.

TGIF! Haven't posted in a few days and will try to catch up. I went to a luncheon for a dear friend on Wednesday - her dh threw it for her 61 birthday. Lucky gal. A friend decorated the tables with lovely flowers and M&M's - when we asked her where she got that idea from - the birthday gal's name begins with M!(they weren't sugar free). I did have a glass of wine and ate a bit of the dessert - but was fine otherwise. Thursday was the visit to the Oral Surgeon......next Friday he will go into the site of the Apico root canal (via the gum) that I had in July and try to fix it.....he feels the pain I am having is because there is infection still there. If it still hurts down the road - out comes the tooth!
I posted a recipe called Crockpot Beef Stew that I made for dinner tonight. It was sooooooo good.
Fillese - Your trip to Montgomery sounded awesome. I'm looking forward to seeing the pictures of you in your gown!
Debbie - I went to Whole Foods in Boca again on Thursday - still out of Agave! But I did get those yummy biscotti! One a day!!!! Please please please tell me where I can get that Drama Queen tshirt!!!! My 15 year old gd in Coral Springs is in the High School theater group and another one too. I would love to get it for her. I would love to meet for lunch - as soon as it warms up after my mouth surgery! OMG, Debby - this is cold!!! Yes I know - no sympathy from the northerners. And dh forgot to turn the heat on last night LOL. I'm living in sweat suits - day and night.
Quilter - Vanzant also wrote a marvelous read called "Yesterday I Cried."
Bob - Hope you are feeling better.
HeartMom - I will keep praying for your little one.
Gatorgal - Orlando is even colder than Boynton!! When are you going to France? We have been there 3 times and I loved each trip. Je parle un peu. Before we went the second time, we took French lessons and didn't do too badly in the countryside. The people there were so nice - and OMG - the food. If you can lose 100 pounds before you go - LOL. The water and wheat there make for the best bread and pastries in the world. On the good side - the fish and veggies are yummy.
Gracious - I remember getting into jeans that were skin tight after I had my three kids when I was 34...............but it is now 30 years later! I guess I should be happy with a size 10 - but want that 8 back again. Still have lots of 8's in the closet waiting for me.
Welcome Barb - I never did do Atkins. Been on SB for 2 1/2 years and like this WOE!
Thanks everyone, for the FF's. Sef - I do remember those Burma Shave signs. We would look for them whenever we took a ride. And I am emailing them to all my senior pals.
:) Have a great weekend, everyone!

Hi All!!!!
Just checking in to say howdee!!! Boy, oh boy, did I ever get a wake up call today. There were pictures on my desk from our office Christmas party. Oh my gosh, I?m HUGE!!! Talk about being in denial!! I had no idea it was THAT bad. Here?s the good thing. I didn?t get all depressed about it. I just said, well it?s a good thing you are getting yourself back on track because you?ve got a TON of work ahead of you. (No pun there.) That was the brick in the forehead I needed. I?m going to take some of those large-size shots and keep them with me to ?inspire? me.
GRACIOUS---You are cracking me up about the tight jeans. I have never worn a size 7 unless it was a girl?s size 7. I remember those jordache jeans. We thought we were hot back then. Thanks for the prayers. You are such a sweetie.
SEF---Thanks for the tip on the medicine. I felt so much better today that I even forgot to take the little purple pill. Hey, you made jewelry? That?s so cool. I should have expected it though because you are so crafty. I would love to see some of your stuff.
DEB---You sound like the ?Koolaid Mom?. Everybody wants to be at your house. Party central!
NOMORESUGAR---I haven?t read Yesterday I cried. But I imagine all her books have a lot to offer. She seems so wise.
BOB---Sorry to hear that you?re still not feeling better. I hope the doctor has the magic touch to get rid of that fever for you. That?s worrisome. Take it easy this weekend. Lots of rest. HUGS!
Well, I know I missed some people, and I am sorry about that. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. My eating has been great for the past two days. (Wow, I?m on a roll!!!) There was cheesecake in the freezer at work and I refrained. I just kept thinking about those jumbotron pictures of me and that cake didn?t look nearly as good. I am counting WW points to help with the portions. Large portions are my downfall.
Tomorrow is my big day with tutor training. i think I have everything ready in the classroom so there shouldn?t be much to do in the morning. I have 22 people signed up. I would love having at least 20 in attendance. What a great way to start the year. Keep me in your thoughts and prayers. I?m a little nervous. But I know once we get going, it will all come together.
Take care, my friends.

hi everyone,
thanks so much for all the supportive thoughts and wishes, each day gets a little better. I FOUND A HOUSE! the funny thing is, it is on the street behind my current house! it will work out the best for sarah as she does not have to change schools and is still in her neighborhood with her friends. i think it could be a little weird having my ex so close, but it is only until our house sells. the house is in great shape and has only had one owner, a little retired couple who died within a year of each other, price was not too bad and it has all the appliances even a microwave and a washer/dryer. i move in the weekend of the first! my friends at work are talking about having a divorce shower! kind of a strange but fun idea! again thanks for all the support and caring.
work has been very busy so i should eventually be able to go back fulltime, i now need the benefits and the extra money as a new single mom.
i would love to address all the posts but i have lots of packing to do, anybody want to come to a moving party? sure hope the weather warms up a little, temperatures in the 30's are not what i like at my age.
i am going to have a weigh in saturday i have been doing better with my eating and can tell by my clothes that i am still losing but i have not been on the scale since the orlando visit!
take care all, hope everyone feels better soon, oh and GO TAMPA!

HiedieHo All!
Just thought I would check to what's happening!
TRISH: Super Bowl? What's that? I'll probably watch a movie or HGTV. I do watch the opening and half-time events. My church's Youth Group is selling hoagies, cookies and a drink for $5. I'm getting three for the kids. I'll stay legal thank you!
MUSIC: You must be a good teacher to have your students place first!
BOB: You poor thing, you don't a shot of something! Southern Comfort maybe. Have enough and you'll forget about everything else! Hope they find the cause and then treat it effectively.
DEB: Look at it this way, you know where your kids are!
NOMORE: Yes I have sympathy for all you freezing bells. I admitted it was too cold to be running around in a muumuu and barefeet outside! Just snuggle down in a big blanket and a shot of SC! See above. I can remember looking for those signs too, we thought the sayings were quite a howl.
QUILT: Relax, take a deep breath and all will be fine for your tutoring. Pictures can be a wake up call or depressing. Glad yours opened your eyes. Hard to deny something in living color!
BKM: How wondeful you found a house! Sounds really nice. A divorce shower seems very sensible to me. You lose a lot of things if you have divided things up.

Kids Proverbs
A first grade teacher collected well known proverbs. She gave each child
in her class the first half of a proverb and asked them to come up with
the remainder of the proverb. It's hard to believe these were actually
done by first graders, but there are some good ones, nonetheless, and
their insight may surprise you.

you know you are living in the year 2003 when:
1. Your reason for not staying in touch with family is because they do not have e-

2. You have a list of 15 phone numbers to reach your family of three.
3. Your grandmother asks you to send her a JPEG file of your newborn so she can
create a screen saver.
4. You pull up in your own driveway and use your cell phone to see if anyone is
home.
5. Every commercial on television has a web site address at the bottom of the
screen.
6. You buy a computer and 3 months later it's out of date and sells for half the price
you paid.
7. Leaving the house without your cell phone, which you didn't have the first 20 or 30
(or 60) years of your life, is now a cause for panic and you turn around to go get it.
8. Using real money, instead of credit or debit, to make a purchase would be a
hassle and take planning.
9. You just tried to enter your password on the microwave.
10. You consider second-day air delivery painfully slow.
11. Your dining room table is now your flat filing cabinet.
12. Your idea of being organized is multiple-colored Post-it notes.
13. You hear most of your jokes via e-mail instead of in person.
14. You get an extra phone line so you can get phone calls.
15. You disconnect from the Internet and get this awful feeling, as if you just pulled
the plug on a loved one.
16. You get up in the morning and go online before getting your coffee.
17. You wake up at 2 AM to go to the bathroom and check your E-mail on your way
back to bed.
18. You start tilting your head sideways to smile. :)
19. You're reading this and nodding and laughing.
20. Even worse; you know exactly who you are going to forward this to...
See y'all tomorrow!

Hey All:wave:
Well, I'm pooped, and I'd REALLY like to go to bed already, but there's still a half dozen kids here and it's a half hour past the time they were supposed to be picked up. Now, common, is it me, or what? I would NEVER be late to pick up my child from a party, esp. not one this late at night. I have to be up really early tomorrow to take MICHAEL and his friend Alex to take their SAT'S. They have to be at the testing school by 8am. Eli's asleep, Michael and Alex are asleep and I sit here waiting for parents to come get their children so I too can hit the hay. I can't be rude and go to sleep before all the kids are gone, so up I stay. Only good thing about it is it give me a little time to post!
I've been really keeping better track of some of my intakes now that I've recommitted. I found that I was eating a lot bigger portions of many things, starchy carbs and fruits for the most part. Now that I'm aware what constitutes a serving of fruit I concluded that I was eating waaaay more than the recommended daily allowances. For intance, I'd eat a large Asian pear and count it as one fruit, where, in fact, with say some that were 12 ounces, that would actually be considered as 2 fruits. Even though I am not a starchy carb person per say, eating a ff ww tortilla would be over 1 starchy carb right there, then there were other things, not as bad as the fruit, but still, something I need to be more aware of. So, this is something I am keeping better track of at this time - hope it helps.
I'm really hoping that I'll lose a pound a week (on average), will be happy if this happens as I fastly approach my 3 year SB ANNIVERSARY. Won't know for sure if this is taking place as you all know I've sworn off stepping on the scale for a while and won't do WIW until March 22nd (though it may fall on a WIT or WIF). I can already feel the benefits of being back OP and honestly, it does feel great. I know I'll go through ups and downs again in the future, there's just no way in the world anyone can stay 100% OP the rest of their life, but at least I made it to my goal weight and have been able to basically maintain since and that's what's important to me. Also knowing that if I go off the wagon and do gain "some weight" back that I can catch myself before I do too much damage which seems to be what I have been able to do. Something I had a hard time doing diets past.
Want to try and get in at least a few replies...
TONI, trust me, I'm really not all that busy. Wish I were, would sure keep me out of the fridge more. Ummm, we actually have 3 working computers, the newer desktop and 2 laptops. The problem is everyone wants to be on-line and I can't tie up the regular phone. MICHAEL doesn't let anyone use his laptop and since he's always on the desktop as well, I gave the other laptop to LAUREN to use. Now, if you want to count the old computer, though it has a virus, we have 4 in the house at the moment! WOW, 1 year on SB coming up! That's wonderful!!! Romance novels, never got in to those, if I had the time, I'd probably pick up a trashy one;)
JACKK, we southern girls just ***** so well that we'll ***** about anything, including the weather. I'll ***** when it's cold, then I'll ***** that it's too hot-you know we're entitled, being women and all;) I do have to agree with you, I have learned more doing SB than I have being on any other diet in my entire life. I think these things I've learned have helped me in more ways than one and will do so the rest of my life. Thanks, about the kids. I just thank God they like school and are good at it to the point I don't have to get on their cases-it would be awful if they came to me for help with homework ever-each year I wonder if I could pass an elementary school grade with the things they do-it's scarey! MICHAEL wants to take the SAT'S 3 times so he can take the highest score. He scored really high on the PSAT's, so I'm hoping he'll do well with these as well.
GATOR, this is from MICHAEL:
Gail,
Vous parlez (ou ecrivez) cette langue bien. Pas mal. :) J'aime la langue. Je peux l'utiliser avec Eli, qui le parle, et ma mere ne comprend pas. Hehehe... Ou en francais, hohoho. Etudiez bien, aussi!
--Michael
He hasn't told me what you wrote or what he wrote yet:)
Okay, well, it's morning, just woke up. Was doing this post late last night when the kids who were still here and LAUREN needed the computer, so I was ousted once again. I finally went to sleep when there were just 2 kids left and I heard they weren't leaving til 12:45am! Now, I'm up and have to get ready to take Michael and Alex for the test. Just wanted to get this up and posted. Will try to pick up where I left off later today!
Have a great Saturday everyone!

Fruit--LOL. I was impressed out of my gourd with your French. And then I read the part about your using a translation site. That’s funny!
BarbC--I am typing this in a word document as I read, so I don’t know if someone has responded to your query yet or not. I am having the same experience. I have discovered that I am hypothroidic. That is, my thyroid is underactive, which makes losing weight very hard. Right now I am working with a doctor to try to get on the right med. that will get my body back revving up like it used to. I eat pretty carefully, although probably not as carefully as your post sounded like you do. And I walk about 3 miles 5 days or so a week. I have not seen the scale budge much at all. I know it is discouraging. How old are you. I will be 60 in a couple of weeks and I have read that it is not rare for this thyroid thing to be a problem for women of my age.
Monet, who posts on this board, also can give you information regarding this. I think she knows a lot more than I do about it.
If that is not your problem, just keep being faithful with the eating and exercise, and eventually it will start coming off.
NomoreSugar--we are going to France in May. Will be there for a whole month: several days staying with a French couple that we met in Cuba, and then 3 weeks at a villa in southern france that we are renting. I agree about the food. The bread is great. Definitely not SGWW. It is not SB legal, nor are the desserts. But I don’t think I’m gonna worry about it too much. I probably will try to keep the simple starches, except fro fruit, fairly low, and enjoy the meat and veggies to the max. I agree that the restaurants are the best. We didn’t have a bad meal there when we were there a few years ago. And the people were great! They are especially nice when foreign visitors try to speak their language. So I want to be able to speak enough to carry on a conversation with the people that we will be visiting for those few days at the beginning of our trip.
BKM--I agree. Go for the shower! Might as well have some fun in the midst of all the changes you are going through. Congrats on your losing the weight. Keep going, kid. With all the other changes, this is a good time for that too.
Michael--C’est une bonne idée pour parler français avec Eli, ainsi votre mere ne comprend pas! LOL. J’espère que vous puissez visiter à la France bientôt.
My butterfly garden looks horrible with a lot of gray looking perenials out there. I think that the 25? temps may have done them in. We have one plant we knew the cold would kill--a hibiscus. We wrapped it in a blanket and put a lamp out under the blanket. I’m sure it will survive, although all the leaves are now gone. Here in FL things grow quickly, so the garden should come back pretty well, I’m hoping.
I had the nicest experience yesterday. I bought a little ceramic dreidel shaped like a pomegranate for my sister, who collects them. On the way back to my car with it, I dropped the package and it broke. It was expensive and I just felt sick about it. So when i got home, I checked out the internet and found a place in Conn. where they repair broken porcelain, china, etc. Their website said “We hold a little bit of history in our hands every day.” Something about that phrase just touched me, so I wrote a little story about my finding the dreidel, and then waiting until the Christmas sales on Dec. 26 to go back and ask the owner if he would reduce the price enough so I could afford it. I described how I felt when the dreidel broke, and tried to write it with pathos and imagination. I sent the story along with the dreidel, with the remark that even brand new items have their own little history. The people responded via e-mail that they had received the dreidel and had enjoyed my story and that they would be letting me know how much the job would cost. I e-mailed them back with another little story re. the dreidel and a few other tidbits. So I didn’t hear back for a couple of weeks and was wondering what was up with the cost of the repair, so I could decide whether I could afford it. Yesterday, the dreidel arrived back in the mail, repairs free! What a nice surprise.
I was so touched that I went to the ceramic store and painted a plate to send to the couple that did the repair work. I wrote the words “God mends broken hearts. Paul & Christine mend ‘broken aparts’ ” on it. I painted two big hands holding the dreidel with a heart in the middle of it. It was fun and I hope the couple feels that it is adequate compensation for their work, which, BTW, was perfect. You would never know that that dreidel had been dropped at all.
I actually got a 2.5 mile walk in yesterday, even though it was COLD. My DH and I worked out last night right before dinner and I squeezed in a walk in the 45 min before I left. I walked a bit longer than I had planned, actually, but a big dog came running out of his yard where the gate had been left open, barking furiously at me, so I decided to take another way back home so I wouldn’t have to walk by him again. That’s how I got in an extra .5 mile. I do carry some pepper spray with me, but don’t want to have to use it if I don’t have to.
We went out to eat at the club where my DH plays golf and where we worked out at the weight room. Weird. All the veggies were cold, so I asked them if they could take them back and nuke them to warm them up. No problem! But when they came back they were colder than before. So I just sent the whole meal back, which was mostly veggies anyway, and asked them to start over. By this time my DH had finished his supper. After about a 10 min wait, I decided I was no longer hungry. I guess I was really irritated. So we left w/o my having supper. On the way out we stopped to chat with some friends in the lounge, and ended up staying where I had “dinner”--a frozen brandy alexander. Yum. Just like a dessert. Bad Gail! No no! But it was good and I didn’t even mind about not having my original dinner. Some days I just get lucky, I guess!
We are going over to friends for Superbowl watching. There will be 4 couples that are good friends and so I am looking forward to a nice evening.
Gotta go. Have a great day everyone. Au revoir. A bientôt.

HiedieHo All!
Today is going to be rough and I thought I'd come say hello before starting out. I was foolish and scheduled two things for one day. Sometimes that's okay depending on the activity. The YAH is going out to lunch, have an organizational meeting and then will tour the local museum and then the historical society museum. That means a lot of being on my feet. Then tonight I had scheduled ushering at the SLT, that means being on the feet for a while. Not a good idea. But I am committed so I will be in poor straits tomorrow!
Okay enough moaning about my own inadequencies.
DEB: I was a Girl Scout leader for many years. Meetings were after school at the Borough Building. If I had a nickel for all the times I sat and waited for parents to pick up there kids I'd be rich. Some parents would be an hour late! These parents did not have emergencies just inconsideration. I finally said that if a child was not picked up within 15 minutes by a responsible adult, the parent would have to withdraw their child from GS. That really helped. And this was in the days of SAMs! Be glad this is a one shot deal! Re: the portion control. Having a hard time since Christmas cheat and it probably has a lot to do with portion control, will start to monitor today!
My DD can be a pain in the butt at times! I am supposed to make her an afghan. She sent me a swatch from the furniture store and said I had to return it with in ten days or she would have to pay for it, she included money to mail it back in flat rate envelope. Of course I went out and matched yarns right away (got the color name and numbers) and returned it ASAP. Then she calls to make sure I mailed it (like I wouldn't!), then got into this big discussion about how close the yarn matches. I tried to explain that two fo the colors are ******* colors and not exact matcheable in any of the brands available. She's not a crafty (as in artsy crafty) person and doesn't realize differences. Like the yarn color has a different name than the color in the swatch. It's a maroon shade and every company will give it a different name. I told her to check with other furniture companies and she'd find different names for the same color. She a bright intelligent girl, but sometimes so dense. She's very concrete! I feel it would be better to make an afghan using one of the matching colors, she thinks a single color would be boring. Now wants photos sent of patterns. The material is busy, she doesn't need a busy afghan. Oh well, it's her house. But nothing is ever easy with her!
Okay enough gripe.
Take care.

What a nice story about the dreidel, how thoughtful both you and the couple who did the repairs are. With so much bad news in the papers etc., it's nice to read good things!
Take care.

It's beautiful..it's about 43 outside. Just warm enough to quit shivering. I even braved a walk yesterday and it was wonderful. It was nice to get out and about. It was only 25 minutes but good minutes..a nice brisk pace. Down a couple of pounds since Wed. but you know how that goes..up down up down..LOL I've thought a lot about why the scales aren't really moving downward....and also focusing on being happy with the changes that have taken place. My two year anniversary is the same month as your three year anniversary Deb...thought that was kinda neat. I don't know the exact day though. The first year was awesome..weight flying off..energy up. Second year it was more of a year of maintaining and only a slight loss. As I'm heading into year 3 I've been journaling and other than too much fat I'm pretty much on track. Too little calories most days..can you believe it..LOL I remember the day when I ate everything that didn't eat me first.
Gatoer what a neat story about your driedal...and how cool of you to make them such a precious gift. I'm sure they will treasure it.
Deb.....sorry you didn't get to bed till late. I don't think some people think. That and some people can't be punctual if they tried. I'm the early bird sort...can't stand to be late.
Sef....I bet the afhgan is going to be just lovely. I love to crochet but it's been a few years. The cost of yarn drives me batty. I have picked my colors and put them in the buggy only to put them back about 3 times so far.....Maybe you can take a picture of it when you finish.
Chris...congratulations on finding a house so quickly and near your daughters school. A party sounds like just the thing to have.
Quilter....I bet the pictures aren't as bad as you think. I think we tend to be tougher on ourselves than we should be. Full body shots are my least favorite...yucky pooey.
Nomoresugar...praying your dental visit goes well and you don't have to lose the tooth.
Bob....sorry to hear you are feeling so poorly. Praying you are feeling better in no time.
Today is calling and I'm not moving yet. So I guess I'd better get the kids some lunch and get the blood flowing. Hope you are all having a super weekend. And remember you ARE the best you there is. Focus on the treasure that you are. Be blessed and encouraged.
Love,
Crystle

Still cold here, but not quite as frigid as the last couple of days. I'm still fighting hoarseness and a cough as well as that crampy feeling from TOM. I think I'm taking it easy today!
BOB--Sorry to hear that you are under the weather. Hope the doc gets whatever it is knocked out of us so that you can be back to your sassy self soon!
Shirly--sounds like you have a busy day! I hope you aren't too hard on your feet--I sympathize as I was on my feet for two solid days last week. The one thing I look forward to most about losing weight is less foot pain!
Gator--That was so sweet about the dreidel. You will have a great trip to France and I wouldn't worry too much about the bread either. In fact, I bet you will find all kinds of hearty, crusty breads. But remember that France is where SB came from originally, you will probably be able to eat extraordinarily well and not too far off program!
Deb--What time did the inconsiderate parents come to get their kiddies? I hope Michael does well on his SAT today. I remember taking those--NOT my favorite way to spend a Saturday morning!
Chris--Sorry to hear that you are having such a rough year, but you seem to be handling it well. I'm thinking about you and hope you will let us know how things are going! Good luck with the new house, it sounds perfect for you!
Quilter--those pictures really are a wake-up call aren't they? Good for you for turning them into a positive motivational tool!
Jackie--Have you ever seen my typing???? I think I'm the worst on the board! :^: I hope your cats pulverize the tide today!
OK--I've got to make myself eat something. When I'm in the crampy stage of TOM I never want to eat. Then when the cramps subside, I'm ravenous. The thought of food makes me nauseous, but I do need to try to put a little something on my stomach--maybe some yogurt,
Have a great day everyone!

Thanks for all the prayers! Boogie does NOT have to be cathed. They think his body will adjust to the high pressures, etc. So very good news. I am thankful that I pay attention to what the docs do and I was able to "catch" the liver being enlarged. Alot of people on my heart support groups didn't know about that-now they do. My eating has been terrible since Wed. But I'm back on track today. I stepped on the scales this morning expecting the worse and it read 212- I think I lost a pound. I'm still up 2 from my low. BTW- HUBBY MAKES ME SICK!!! He decided he wanted to loose some weight and he's only done SB about "halfway" this week and lost 7 pounds!! He still drinks his cokes and eats chips with his lunch. But he started eating salads and fruit and he gets a legal supper prepared by me. I'm soo jealous. That was my incentative to get on track today, lol. I can't be gaining while he's losing like that! I know I can't touch his weight loss, but I'm going to aim for 2-3 pds. a week. MOM2MARSH- yes, I know about CHOP being #1 and they are also the #1 hospital in pediatric cardiology. I wish I lived closer also- I live 1100 miles away! We live in Mississippi and actually drove this last time to Philly. The other 2 times were by plane. - WTG- on 24 lbs! That's awesome. Maybe you could post a couple of your daily menu's to inspire me?

Hi Everyone! Sorry I have been MIA but it was my long work week & a very stressful one I might add. SOOOO glad this week is over. Have the week end off & I decided to sleep in this am, as DH was off to a class from 10a-1p & he left around 8am.
Too many posts to read & catch up with, so thought I'd just say hi to all. Eating OP. Scale is moving down, but not fast enough for me. I am holding under 140 but that's still about 7 lbs above my lowest. I need to start exercising again but it's just tooo cold to get out there & walk. Was 20 here yesterday am as I left for work. BURRRR
See ya!

Just a quickie to let you all know that Tutor Training was AWESOME today. I had such a wonderful group of people. They all seemed eager and ready to start volunteering. All the changes seemed to work okay. The timing was pretty good. And I got great marks on the evaluations. Thanks to all of you for your words of encouragement and for those good thoughts and prayers you sent my way. They worked!!!
If I can get Paul out of the recliner, we are on our way out to dinner. I think I just heard him snoring, so plans may change.
Catch you later. I'll do replies later tonight of tomorrow morning.
Hugs to you all,
Kim

Oh and I almost forgot . . . I successfully shunned all the illegal treats at the refreshment table. Who knew? It feels good to be back in the land of the living (and eating good). I hope by the time I return to the doctor's next Friday, my weight will have gone down at least one pound. Keeping my fingers crossed, but not resting everything on that.

Hey All:wave:
The house is mine, all mine, waaaahhhhhhaaaaaahhhhaaaaa!:s: The kids father just picked them up to take them out to dinner, ELI is teaching a class and won't be home til sometime tomorrow and me, I've got no one standing over me asking me for the computer!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Though, I do feel bad about ELI, he worked 17 hours yesterday, woke up at 3am and was at work by 4am this morning, came in to find a flood in the store from some back-up, worked all day trying to get that mess fixed, had to teach a class tonight until 9pm, has to stay at the store from 1am-5am to have these guys come undo the clog and then has inventory tomorrow night. This means, he'll be up straight more than 24 hours! He's suppose to be off day time tomorrow, but with all this crap going on, he'll be sleeping whatever time he has off. So, even though I'm happy about being alone at this moment, I have to admit, I do wish I wasn't.
Went to some garage sales today. MICHAEL told me he needed me to find him a wheelchair to use for his tripod to make it a rolling tripod when he does filming. Well, he got a wheelchair and it cost a whole dollar! BUT, as good as that sounds, my DS was QUEEN:queen: of the garage sale today. She got a RAINBOW VACUUM CLEANER for $5.00 with ALL the attachments. Now, if you know what a Rainbow is, then you KNOW it's a steal beyond steals, if not, new Rainbows will cost you over $1600, maybe even more now. Granted, her new one is an older model, but works great. I have one as well, have had 2, both came from garage sales, and her first one came from a garage sale as well and just needs a new cord on it. She found MICHAEL another guitar so I told her to buy it, sight unseen-it's gorgeous, wonderful condition and sounds great, $15! Even found LAUREN a pair of brass TRAGEDY & COMEDY masks for her wall for $1. A few other items, in all, not a bad day:D
Went to my sister's house tonight for dinner. My BIL cooks some mean food out on his huge barrel grill. Unfortunately, right now, it's coming back up a little at a time. Mid-cycle barfing, I'm use to it!
BTW, the 2 kids left last night around 1:30-2:00am! Can you imagine! Lauren says she thinks the mother must of fell asleep.
Anyhow, enough of my jabbering, I better get some replies in here before I have someone knocking at the door telling me their home and wants to go on the computer!
MARSH, CONGRATS on being down 2lbs this week! WTG! You're doing great since starting SB!!! Do keep threatening DH about moving, it sure would be nice to have another SB person in my area! I sure wouldn't mind!! Though, as it was yesterday, Miami may not be as warm as you wanted, you may have to go even further south!
LIN, geez, why didn't I think about that? I wouldn't have to worry about kids coming over if I just would cook for them! No, stupid me, I get them pizza! Junk food! Stuff they love, no wonder they want to come here!!! I'm sure Steven will make friends soon, they all do! The price you paid for agave is quite good considering the prices I've seen lately. Please let me know what you think about the cheesecake once you make it. Just remember, don't be like me, portion control!!!!
JACKK, good talking with you today. Thanks for being patient as I skimmed the ads of the hotels. Did you get in touch with any, and if so, any good rates? Ummm, geez, I don't remember having to go to the bathroom after zipping up those jeans so long ago, I think I held it in til I got home to take them off! Maybe that's where my bladder control came from!!!! LOL!!! Thanks for the FF's, I'd seen them before, but always love re-reading anything that will give me a good laugh!
ACW, I hope come Friday and your bday that you'll have a great ME day! I hope DH plans something nice for you for your special day. JOK N AL is absolutely delicious! I love their strawberry & raspberry jams. It's been hard for me to find it here anymore, unfortunately. Here's the website:
http://www.joknal.com/
DAWN, OMG, you got the agave sooo cheap, esp. by todays prices. Even before the increase, that's cheaper than what I could find it for! If the bottle is 8oz, consider yourself getting a great bargain. If/when we get up to MD, you'll have to re-tell me about the places up your way. Some women love going to the mall, me, just take me to health food stores and of course, TJ'S!!!!
BOB, glad to chat with you for a bit today, though sorry to hear you're not feeling any better. Let us know what the Dr. says when you go back. Did you make it over to Walgreens? Any problems? You know what I mean!;)
LINDARN, first off, don't give up hope. I was on fertility drugs many moons ago and though I was able to get pregnant while on them, I kept on having miscarriges. I decided to finally give my self a break and went off the clomid and pergonal and a few months later, viola, I was preg. with Michael. Had him and 17 months later Lauren arrived! Anyhow, to answer your question, even though you are putting the weigh loss on the back burner you still want to eat healthy and I would say to not eat the sf stuff. PLUS, you have to realize that even though these meds may make you gain weight, it's not fat you are gaining AND when you do go off of them, not only will this non-fat weight leave you, so will other pounds as well. You may not see all the benefits of eating this WOE at this moment, but you sure will come the future. If you just HAVE to have something try to pick the best alternatives.
MONET, how are you feeling these days? Just wanted to send you a howdy! Cute FF, thanks for sharing!
BARB, WELCOME TO THE SB BOARDS I can't truly comment on your question as I've never been a true Atkins believer. How long ago did you do Atkins where it worked for you? Are you sure you're eating enough? I find on this WOE as well as many others, people just don't eat enough, which is just as bad as over eating. I believe SB is a better WOE all around. It doesn't outlaw any certain food group, the ratios of carbs/fat/proteins are in relation to those recommended by the RDA and you can follow this way indefinitely-something that Atkins cannot say. Give it a try!
FRUIT, MG again? Geez, seems this just took place! LOL! Loupe's Lounge is definitely cute! I'll get around to e-mailing everyone to see who may seriously be interested and when and will let you know. How are the boobs doing?
GRACIOUS, hope you had a good time at your retreat this weekend! Thanks for the FF you posted. Very cute!
DISNEY, WELCOME TO THE BOARDS I'm sorry, I think I missed welcoming you earlier. Good going on staying off the scale, many of us are slaves to that metal monster. I am now trying to be content with the feel of my clothes being what tells me how I'm doing instead of the scale. Not easy to do. Try not to get in to the trap of the metal monster, it's a hard one to get out of, well, at least for some of us.
FILLISE, girl, it's cold there-better there than here! LOL!!! It won't take until July to have me *****in about the heat, you'll hear that from me soon enough-unfortunately. If it's not one extreme, it's another. About being a Mom, as you said, God had other plans for you, and besides, you are a Mom, to Belle. Just think about it, at least your fur child doesn't talk back to you, doesn't ask you for money, doesn't ask you to drive them all over town, etc., etc., etc...
SEF, you and MARSH have something in common I see, you both love X-stiching. Girl, what is happening with you and your posts you keep on losing? Are you sure it's just not old age and you THOUGHT you did a post? LOL!!! Couldn't resist!!! LOL!!! WONDERFUL Friday Funnies! I loved reading them!!!!!! THANKS! Yes, people CAN and ARE very inconsiderate. I like your idea on how you handled the GS issue! LMK how things go with monitoring your intake. Good luck with the afgan issue!!!!
TRISH, have a good time at your SB party tomorrow! Me, nothing exciting, if you read above about ELI, probably watch him sleep will be the highlight of my day! Eat one of those olives in that martini for me!!! YUM!!!
MUSIC, don't you just hate it when you've been OP for weeks and then screw up? BUT, guess what! If you get right back on track you won't see any ill effects from those brownies. It's if you do like I do and keep going in the wrong direction, then you'll see it effect you. All the good you've done will keep you from gaining from this, so don't let this discourage you. CONGRATS to your 3rd graders AND YOU!!!!!
NMS, sounds like you had a good time at that party. Hope all goes well with the oral surgeon on Friday-terrible to have to be dealing with something like that. You got the Aunt Gussies? Aren't they wonderful! I use to be able to do one a day, then it got to be 1 box a day-I had to stop buying them, I'm dangerous around them. The place I told you about, NUTRITIONS'MART also carries them and about a dollar a box cheaper than Whole Foods. I will look through my papers for the site I got the shirt from, I bought it back in Nov. before I had this computer and the site is on the old computer, or was, before the virus ate up my favorites. If I don't get you the info by next week, please, remind me if you don't mind-sometimes I tend to forget. Look forward to meeting you one day for lunch!!
Gals, I'm outta here for now. Will try to get back on later if possible to continue with my individual replies to you all. I just want to get at least this much posted while I'm able. QUILTER, BKM, GATOR, COUNTRY, HEART & MELF I will reply to you all later!!!!

I've been lurking the last couple of days and have gotten way behind. My inlaws are here and I made a turkey dinner last night. I ate too many of those evil carbs, but did stay away from the mashed potatoes :) I made Deb's cheesecake with agave and it was very good. I used a pecan crust. The whole family liked it. Does anyone have a "legal" topping idea?
BOB-do you have a bladder infection? I used to get those all the time and I distinctly remember the pain and the orange pee. I loved the black and bleu chicken recipe--will try it soon.
lindarn-I hope you are pregnant soon. Deb's story about getting pregnant is encouraging.
Shirley-I hate to lose posts too. What mountains did you live in? My dh is from the Appalachians. Your FF's are making me laugh. Good job with the pool pump.
Gracious-How was the retreat and all the food? I hope you had a great weekend. Loved the FF. How was your busy Saturday? If I were your dd, I'd be happy with the afghan, and wouldn't be quizzing you about the colors. You are so patient with her, it sounds like.
Jackie-You are absolutely amazing with all your exercise--you hardly miss a day. I'm working toward having that kind of discipline. The FF's were hilarious--I wanna be a bear. The woman vs. man's thinking was great too--should be required reading for all newlyweds. How was happy hour? I had bloody mary's at mine ;)
Kat-I like your ds's picture. How do you get a pic to show up there on the board? Have fun with your car--what nice parents you have.
Deb-Your posts crack me up. I can almost see your house with all those kids. Are the maggots gone? I'm with you on parents who pick their kids up late--I would never do that!! But I have had it happen to me--I have driven so many kids home (to be nice and to get them out of my house haha). It sounds like you have done some real soulsearching and have recommitted to SB> I have no doubt that you will be able to stick with it. I am trying to find some resolve too. I have done niothing but gain since Christmas and I'm sick of it. WTG on the garage sales!!
Susanne-I loved your thoughts about god having other plans for you--that is so true. Your nieces are very lucky. It's is very cold in Charleston too-pipes bursting all over the city. I would have to move here when it is the coldest in 10 years. I hope your cramps feel better.
Monet-Good to hear from you. My son won't wear coats either--he says he doesn't get cold but I suspect it is some sort of adolescent macho thing. The mattress pad sounds heavenly. Good FF-I'll have to show it to Steven.
Trish-have fun at the party. We will just be here eating wings with the in laws. I might try to get my mil to go to a movie. I like sports, but not crazy about pro football.
Music teach-Congrats on your win. I bet the kids were happy.
Ruth-thanks for the recipe and the M&M's decorating idea. I bet the tables were pretty. I hope the root canal goes OK. Maybe you won't be able to eat for a while--might lose a pound or two (trying to be positive here)
Quilter-Your class sounds great. WTG. Do you work with adults who can't read? Sorry the picture took you back but that's great about avoiding the cheesecake. Get some rest today.
Bigknight-it sounds like things are reallyw orking out for you, like with the job and the house. The house sounds wonderful! Have fun watching the SB.
Gator-That is a very nice story about the dreidel. And I like the brandy alexander supper--I haven't had one in years but I remember how good they are. WTG on the 2.5 miles, it's extra hard to go when it is cold out. Have fun with friends and the SB.
Crystle-WTG on losing the pounds. I can't imagine not wanting to eat all the time. I need to get back to that way of thinking.
Heartmom-GREAT news about Boogie. I'm so glad he doesn't have to go through yucky another procedure.
sorry if I missed anyone else--will go read the Sunday paper. Have a great Sunday everyone!

Good Morning you WONDERFUL PEOPLE!!!!!!
I just let Maddie girl out and she came back covered in snow. Here we go again. If it were warmer and this were rain, we?d all be building arks by now.
BKM---Hey, it?s good to see you on the board again. Girlfriend, we need to talk because I?m WAYYYYY behind on your life. Sounds like you are making positive strides. A new house is always fun. I?m thrilled you found one that will keep Sarah in the same school. She?s such a cutie! Is the divorce final yet? Go for the shower. I think it sounds like a great way to get re-started. I hope Daisy is going with you. (Did I mess up on her name?)
SEF---Thanks for the words of reassurance. Your were right! A deep breath and relaxing always helps. I loved the living in 2003 list. That?s a keeper. Thanks.I hope you made it through your big day. How are those tootsies feeling this morning? Well, it sounds like DD is being a little anal about this afghan. Man, she needs to lighten up a bit. She should listen to you because you are the crafty one and know what?s best. This could end up being a major pain for you. Sounds like she has a picture already in her head of the end project, and you will have no way of matching that. Fabric swatch or not. BTW, I think sold color afghans are the best too. No one should do two busy patterns right on top of each other.
GATOR---I loved your story about the the people fixing your dreidel. Isn?t it amazing how great life is when we get personally involved with each other. You were so smart to plead your case. You had nothing to lose, right? And I really love the idea of sending them a thank you plate. How cool. Sounds like you are on the road to another long-distance friendship. WTG!!!
COUNTRY---Glad to see your weather is being more hospitable. I would LOVE to walk out side, but it?s bitter here still. I wonder when we?ll see 43 again. Ugh. Hey congrats on being down two pounds since Wednesday. That?s great. And fast. Keep up the good work. BTW, thanks for your sweet comments, but the pictures really were THAT bad. It looked like I should have been playing the Beer Barrel Polka in the background, because my torso looks just like a barrel. It?s the cold hard facts, but it?s keeping me going.
FILLISE----Don?t you just hate it when the cramps bring something else along with them like a sore throat or a cough? Ugh! That?s so lovely to have to endure both. Hang in there.
HEART---PTL that Boogie doesn?t need the cath. That?s such great news. We are all breathing a huge sigh of relief for him and for you and the rest of your fam. You did make me LOL when I read ?HUBBY MAKES ME SICK.? It is terrible that the pounds can just drop off them with little effort. Last summer my DH lost over 15 pounds simply by playing softball one day a week!!! Can you believe that? Every where we went people were asking him about his big weight loss and telling him how good he looked. It was driving me crazy because he was still eating just about anything he saw and I was being so careful. It does make me laugh now when I look back on it. But it?s still not fair. Hang in there, we will get there sooner or later.
MELF----Hang in there to you too. Sounds like you had a wicked one this week. I hope you get to relax this weekend and ?center? yourself. That always helps me. Take care. Hey, it was GREAT getting to hear your voice from FL. You are such a sweetie!!!
DEB---The garage sales sound great. The mid-cycle barfing does not. Hope you are feeling better. Give ELI a hug from me. That?s a rotten schedule he?s got there.
LINWORTH----My ears perked up when you said PECAN CRUST. What is that all about? Is there a recipe on the board for this that I?ve missed? I had been MIA for such a long time, I know there are things I?m way behind on. Please tell me what you did. LIN, I use a lot of frozen berries. Our freezer is stocked to the top with bags of mixed and bags of plain strawberries and blueberries. I love them and eat a ton of them. I believe the really make me feel so much better (digestion-wise). Anyway, I?m sure you could make a topping with some berries and some agave. I haven?t tried it, but I?ll bet there?s a way. Somebody on here will know. BTW, I do work with adults who can?t read or who have such low-levels of reading that they really cannot function. It?s a real eye-opener. You just wouldn?t believe. Most of them are incredibly intelligent, but had undiagnosed learning disabilities as children. That?s the reason people can get all the way through school and not be able to read. It?s great to see the success stories. One of my friends (who I met years back when I first starting this job) has really turned his life around. He now owns a building that?s a home health care facility for people with mental illness. How?s that for giving back to the community once you get on your feet? I?ll shut up, but you can see how excited I get about it. Thanks for asking.
Okay, friends, it?s so cold I think I?m going to crawl back in bed for a couple of minutes and snuggle with my honey. He?s toasty warm and my feet are still freezing. Catch you later. Enjoy your days.

Good Sunday Morning Everyone:wave:
Tired, but up. Shortly after I exited the computer last night the kids came home, so no hope of me regaining my place in front of the computer at that point. ELI actually came home around 10ish and I convinced him to go to sleep before he had to go back to work, having to be there by 1am. So, as tired as I was and feeling barfy, I read while he slept and then woke him up about 12:20am to get ready to go back to work. I felt him crawl back in bed this morning around 5am and he's still asleep. Seems we WILL be able to go do something together today. He told me he misses OLE OLE, so that's a for-sure today. We haven't really spent any time together since his return from Seattle last week. He has to go in to work later tonight for a full inventory. His days off seem to include work, I hate it but can't do anything about it. The whole purpose of us selling our previous business was that he was working 70-80 hours a week, in just 2 days he worked a 40 hour week. It's bad enough, but geez, if he was making time and a half, or benefiting directly from the business profits, it would be better, but unfortunately, the way he works, he's lucky if it pans out that he's making minimum wage, and even then, I wonder! Oh well, my *****ing sure doesn't help or change the situation, that's him and that's just the way he works:shrug:
Didn't really eat much of anything yesterday since I was feeling barfy. On the Sat we were in O-Town I was this way as well, exactly 2 weeks ago to the date. Right on day 14 of my "cycle", but luckily, it didn't last almost all day as it did 2 weeks ago, woke up this morning feeling not only fine, but less bloated. I'm so use to is, PLUS, I know 95% of the time there's an added benefit, the scale goes down. I'll measure myself later this morning to see if my girth around my stomach has gone down. I measured the other day and it was really BIG! Hoping this shows some decrease today!
Want to get in some replies before someone, ANYONE, wakes up and starts in with me about the computer.
GATOR, really loved the story about the driedle! What wonderful people to be able to provide such a service and then, on top of it all, do it for free! We actually have quite a few dreidles in the china cabinet. The kids' father has a cousin who had a store in Cincinatti called SERENDIPITY with very unusal gifts and she started sending us a dreidle each holiday season. I think we have abot 10 of them in there now. She's since sold the business, so our collection hasn't grown. That was nice of what you did for the couple with the plate. Here's Michael's reply, still don't know what's being said yet!!!
-- Michael
COUNTRY, I'd probably still be shivering at 60 degrees! Keep warm girlfriend! That's so cool that you too have an SB ANNIVERSARY coming due in March, WOW, 2 years!!! You need to get some updated pictures on the board to mark this great event! You mentioned too few calories and not much loss, easy to fix on both issues which will definitely help you lose once again. At least you know what's going on from journaling, now you have to try to change something to get you back on the losing track. I'm like you, very punctual 99% of the time, if I'm running late, I'll call from my cell phone when possible.
HEART, glad to hear about BOOGIE. Oh girl, don't even give it a thought about DH's weight loss. First of all, men always lose weight faster than us as you well know and plus, just cutting down a few calories he's going to lose weight. I mean, it's good to ignite you to stay on track, but don't even try to compare you two. Don't try for 2-3pounds a week, you'll get discouraged if you don't acheive that, just try to stay OP 100% and see what happens. If you don't lose one week, don't get discouraged, you will see the benefits soon. We all get discouraged and some more easily than others, but hang in there and don't give in and you'll be greatly rewarded!:D
MELF, you sure are busy!!! Eating on track down here as well, scale is definitely still up, but I'm sure we'll both be losing as the weeks pass. Hoping to get back in to my exercise routine tomorrow-last day of laying around today!!!!
QUILTER, glad to hear your TUTOR TRAINING went great! Good job on staying away from the junk table. I just love when you are back on track, feeling good in more ways than one and posting all about it. I hope you take time to reflect on just how good this makes you feel in comparison to when you aren't following this WOE. That, plus you know, we miss you lots when you go MIA! I'm crossing my fingers for you for your Dr. visit on Friday - will look forward to hearing the news.
BKM, wonderful news about the house! Did you end up doing rental? That's awesome to be staying in the same neighborhood. You must be SOO happy, and so must Sara! I say go for the DIVORCE SHOWER, I think it's an awesome idea! I'd go if I were closer! Glad to hear eating is doing better, things really are looking up all the way around for you as each passing day goes by - that's wonderful!!!!!
LIN, glad you enjoyed the cheesecake, added plus that others did too. I haven't found a person who doesn't like it yet. YELLOWROSE made a delicious apricot jam that she brought to the SB GET TOGETHER in Orlando and many of us put it on top of the cheesecake and it was DELICIOUS! You can ask her for her recipe. Also, any fruit that you can thicken and put on top is delicious. You can even swirl some truit in to the actual cheesecake if you wish. I thought about maybe doing a key lime cheesecake, adding some key lime juice to the mix-the possibilites are endless! I'm sure you'll come to grips and get back on track soon. You hit a point that you finally say, NO MORE and ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. You'll do it:)
Okay, I'm outta here. Going to go crawl back in bed and see if I can stir up the dead.
Will try to get back on later today!
Have a great Sunday!!!

Just a moment to type before I get busy with church duties---
BOB--Belle has a fur coat--I'm the one that needs a sweater! actually I think that even she is cold because she is cuddling up to me all the time. Everytime I sit down I have a cat on my lap--it's pretty sweet. I'll be pulling for the Bucs today, but my first priority is the NCSU-UNC bb game on this afternoon--Go Wolfpack!
Glad you are feeling better.
Deb--I'm getting tired just reading about Eli's schedule these last few days. Hope he gets some rest and you get some time together. Belle talks back to me--she talks all the time. I have no idea what she is saying, but it sounds pretty sassy!
Kim--cramps are better today--always gald to have those first three days of TOM behind me. Thanks.
Linworth--I make a good topping for Deb's cheesecake by melting some sugar-free jam in the microwave. You can also cook down some fruit in agave to make a topping.
Heart--So glad to hear that Boogie doesn't need a cath! :D So sorry to hear that we are going to have to shoot hubby!!!! :s:
I'm going to go to church and then curl up to watch the basketball game! Have a good day everyone!

DEB---You are right. I wish we all could bottle these feelings when we are doing well and staying focused. Then when we started to slip we could take some down off the shelf and take a good hefty swig. Wouldn't that be great? Poor ELI. I feel so bad for him with all that work. Pity he doesn't punch the time clock with everybody else. You all would be rolling in the dough. I figure if the doctor had gotten any really serious news from the blood tests, I would have heard by now. My stomach pains seem to have vanished. Didn't need a purple pill yesterday at all. I truly think my has something to do with PMS. I told the dr of my suspicions. We will talk further on Friday.
BOB---So glad you are feeling better. That's a good thing. Do you still have your appendix? Isn't that supposed to be pains on the right side when it starts getting icky? As far as the game goes, Paul and I both really like TB and Gruden (Chucky). I would like to see him get a SB win. As far as I'm concerned he really has two teams in the super bowl today. Because most of the reason the Raiders are there was from all the work he did while he was there. That new coach of theres really can't take all the credit. Everyone knows it takes years to build a SB team. Oakland is a really good team. I think it's going to be a very close game. I will have a hard time picking a winner for our football pool. My heart says TB, but my head says Oakland. So I just don't know. It must be exciting being in a town that has a winning team. Unfortunately, we haven't known what that's like for a very long time. I flip off that new football stadium every single time I drive by. Geesh, like that did anything to help the Bungles get some wins.
Gotta go. Time to make the jewelry.

Hi ALL!!
Still a cold windy, & now rainey day here. I don't like the cold. At least not this cold. I just can't warm up! Even poor dh who hardly ever wears a coat has crawled back in bed to try to warm up, but I have to go to a baby shower soon so I can't crawl in after him. :(
Deb, poooooor Eli! sounds like he's going to be worked to death! Tell him to get some rest. How the 2 of you get a good outing at OleOle. yum, I can taste that Cobb salad & the salsa now! Do enjoy! Sorry I didn't get to send Birthday greetings to Lauren, but tell the sweetie that I do send belated greeting to her. Sounds like Michael is preparing for his next film with that wheelchair. LOL Some day we'll see his name in credits & we'll say I remember meeting that nice young man. He's bound to make it big one day in whatever he does, wheather it's films or medicine!
BOB, feel better soon!
Quilter, sounds like you & Maddie are getting plenty of snow. Do stay warm!
OK I just figured out where everyone is today. It's SuperBowl Sunday, right? Hope you team wins, those of you who are rooting them on! Later...Mary

his is my post for Saturday. I don't know what going on, but I went to post and it wouldn't let me. Said I wasn't registered or something strange.
So I registered again and it let me post.
Quiet day here. Did laundry, went and got my nails done. Worked out and did The Firm tape for abs. it's akiller. Going to a friend's house to watch the UL-TN game and then UK-AL game.
Bob, I'm glad you got some antibotics. Sounds like that is the only thing going to cure what you have. Hope they find out what it is soon. In the meantime, get some rest. Hey take those 6 lbs anyway you can get them.
Have a great weekend everyone.
Nomoresugar, You car making my teeth hurt just reading about your procedure. Good luck. Hope your pain is over soon.
Quilter, I have one of those pictures. I was holding a baby in the ICU and my thighs looked like elephant legs. I couldn't even enjoy the pic of the baby for seeing all that fat. I guess denial is right. It was a wake up call for me too. Good luck You are on the right track. See it through. How did your class go? I'm sure it was great.
BKM, I'm glad you found a house so quickly. It will be nice not to have your DD go through another trauma of changing schools and friends. It's hard on kids too. Prayers for you and her. Good luck. Glad you eating is showing results. Keep up the good work.
Sef, loved the FF. Kids say the darndest things. Try to get some rest. You may have to soak those tired feet. I have a DD like yours. Somedays a simple conversation is a struggle. Gotta love 'um.
Deb, you are right, K No one can be expected to stay 100T OP for the rest of their lives. There will be times... but knowing what to do afterwards and controling it are the secrets. You are doing great and I'm sur you will be at your goal before your anniversary. It was so good talking to you today. Glad you finally caught me at home. Thanks for the info on the hotels.
Gator, what a wonderful story about the dreidel. There are some good people in this world. How sweet of you to paint the plate for them. It was a perfect idea. I'm sur they will love and appreciate it. Sounds like you are relly getting into the walking and exercising. Good for you. Bummer on the cold dinner, but sounds like a good compensation. Have fun at the superbowl party.
Country, I'm hoping year 3 will be all that for you. With your journaling you will learn more about your eating habits and that should give you the downward boost you need. Such sweet words you closed with. Made me feel good. Thanks
filise, Hope you are feeling better today. Stock up on some vitamin C to knock that sore throat. Yeah, I hope the tide rolls out quickly today. My cats are on a roll, but sometimes they get a big head and lose quickly.
Heartmom, I'm so happy that Boogie doesn't have to be cathed. Prayers do get answered. I'm glad your DH is inspiring you, but men always lose faster. It's not fair.
Melf, glad your busy week is over. Have a restful weekend.

Good Sunday afternoon.
After church we had to meet with the caterer for the reception. Boy $$$$. It's depressing. Of course DH (who has of sense of money whatsoever) keeps saying honey of you want it, go ahead. I keep giving him these looks but he ignores me. think I'll hand him the checkbook instead and let him cover the bills for a change.
I have a questions for all you Alabama girls. We were watching the UL-Al game last nite and everyone wondered why the mascott is an elephant. What does that have to doe with Crimson Tide?? I told them I would find out. I knew I had some inside sources.
Just finished doing my 3 mile tape. i must have tried a little harder tody b/c I was sweating buckets. I have a bad mishap last nite. We went to a friends house to watch the game and I took veggies with me as I was starving and didn't want to sabatoge myself. I knew were were ordering pizza but they nomally order it from a place that has a supreme that is loaded and you can easily eat the toppings and get full. Someone brought their kid along and they insisted on Pizza Hut. Well the screwed up our order and we got a pepperoni and a cheese pizze and a stuffed crust pizza. I ended up eating 2 pieces, but I'm not too worried as all I had to eat yesterday was 1/2 a grilled cheese sandwich until the veggies at the party. So I made myself work out extra hard and will be good tonite at the SB party. Going to a bar and will drink Dcoke and wings. So no starcy carbs for me today. Hope that pizza doesn't show up ont he scale plus it wasn't any good at all. If I hae to cheat I at least want to enjoy it. Bummer.
Quilter, Glad your class was a success. WTG on passing those goodies. Hope you got to go out to dinner, you deserved it. Your job sounds so rewarding. I can tell how much you love it. That's the way all jobs should be.
Deb, WOW what bargains you got today. You are the :queen:. Sorry you are losing your dinner. Look at the bright side, no weight gain. Poor Eli. He will be exhausted. He sure has strong work ethics and I'm sure those ethics carry over into his personal life to. People hear are having bursted pipes from the cold. I can't believe we don't have that problem, DH won't turn the termostat past 65.
Linworth, Try some SF jelly, like simply fruit or Polander, I like the strawberry.
BOb, Glad you are feeling some better. Prop yourself up today and ret and just watch all the football coverage. Hey, what happened to the VOLS last nite? I was really pulling for them to beat UL.
Fillise, Have a good day. Hope those church duties dont keep you from the super bowl.
Melf, hve fun at your baby shower. I just hate it when DH stays in bed and I have to get up and out.
Got to run make a pot of chili for tomorrow's dinner. Want to take some old coats down to the mission for the homeless people. They refuse to come into a shelter. Don't know how they can live out in this cold. it is snowing again today. My poor black car is white from all the salt and sand from the roads. Planned on washing it today, but after church it was snowing so hard it would have been a waste of money.
Enjoy the SB. Go Bucs.

AFTERNOON EVERY BUDDY!!!
Jackie....VOLUNTEER basketball hasn't been good since the 60's...they just can't keep up...couldn't figure out what they were doing playing L'vlle anyway...must be something new!
Chili sounds good...it's cold enough down here for a big pot!
KIM....ok, now I'm very confused...I thought I had it down pat on which side of Cincy you lived on...coming by the stadium, are you coming from the Kings Island side, or the Dayton side? When we come over the bridge, we hang a right and the stadium is right on us...then if we go uptown, we hang a left and go up the big hill toward Fountain Square. Please straighten me out will you?
Did you go down and watch them flatten the old stadium? I saw it on TV..as for the BUNGLES....well I won't say anything...we both know already!
Oh...before I forget...I don't have my appendix...that's what's so puzzling???? KNOCK ON WOOD....it's not hurting today...
SUSAN...I did you a favor and didn't watch your b'ball game..I knew I would jinx you if I did...Got those pictures developed yet?
I'm waiting to see the princess posted on the board!
Gotta go....
GO BUCS!!!!!

BOB---How long has it been since you were in Cincinnati? Have you seen the new stadium? They have changed the roads down around there all around in the past couple of years. I don't drive by the stadium when I go to work. I live in OH and drive down 75South and take one of the downtown exits to get to my building. But I'm running around all the time down there. Newport has a GREAT riverfront. And I go over there quite a bit. There is a new Second Street that practically puts you right in the new football stadium. I use that street to drive to Newport. Now the new baseball stadium is almost done. It's going to be a beaut!
We forgot all about Riverfront coming down. I wish we'd have remembered and gone down there for it. But no such luck. We didn't even think to put on the tv. I've seen it on the net, but that doesn't do it justice. It seems weird without it, because it was so huge before. The thing that gets me is how did they blow up the old one with the new one sitting so close. Amazing.
Go Bucs! I decided to pick them. I need those 50 points in the pool, so I hope they don't let me down. Ha!

HiedieHo All!
A quieter day than yesterday. Our meal was very good on our outing yesterday. I had the Buffett as I could control what I ate better. The two museums were interesting, I would like to back sometime when it is not so busy and I don't have to worry about others to have another look round. Those of you are from small towns know we're not talking Metro Museums here, this is just a little bity town museum! Last nights play was pretty good, "one Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest", the guy that played the Jack Nichols role was a little too over the top. I was glad to get home.
Today I went to church, Blockbusters and have been reading the papers and writing letters. I will watch opening ceremonies for the Super Bowl, do something else and tune in for halftime. I'm just resting today, from yesterday and the weather today, it's very damp and achy weather!
COUNTRY: Been a while since I crocheted too. I sent my DD about five pics to change from. Right now Hobby Lobby has Coat's yarn on sale for 1.88.
FILLISE: Even if I lose weight I'll still have foot pain as I have Peripheal Neuropathy in both upper and lower extremities. I was so glad to get home last night, feet and back were aching!
HEART: Thankful for the good news.
QUILT: I knew you could do it! Glad you liked the FFs. DD is a project with most things, yet she is a wonderful girl.
DEB: I know I'm old! But give me some credit! I can still handle the keyboard. I know save! Now what was the rest of your post?!? You never stop do you? A champion "garage-saler". You never fail to amaze me.
LIN: I lived in the Poconos in PA. With my DD most things are an issue. I'm also having an ulcer over my antiques with her. A long story, she would like them now, I'm not dead yet, so she can't inherit yet can she?
BOB: THe Bucs? Who are they? LOL I don't even know who the second team playing is!
Just watched the Dixie Chicks sing the anthem, I thought they were great. Just sang in strong harmony and didn't add any wails!!
Been sitting here too long today. Take care all!

My youth groups are all meeting and I have a moment to post before they let out. After I leave here I'm going to a Super Bowl party, but I really want to go home. I feel chilled and light headed and want to go home and curl up on the sofa.
BOB--Thanks for not watching the Wolfpack play! They beat UNC by 9 points--it was beautiful! I appreciate your contribution to the effort! Actually the pictures from the inaugural are not on my camera, so I have to wait for a friend to get them developed. I'll scan them when I get a copy--If not I'm going to a Heart Ball the middle of next month and can take a picture then.
Sef--Sorry about the feet. I've just been able to start wearing heels again. For a few hours, no problem, but when I'm on them for two days straight--eyooowww!
Jackie--I'll get to the game in a bit. I hate missing the first half because that's when all the good commercials are!
Oops--time to get the kiddies home!
Talk to you tomorrow!

Kim,
Ten years to be exact since I've been there. We were up there for a conference and stayed at the micro brewery on Buttermilk Pike on the KY side...the river front was done then, but I'm sure it's better now. We wandered down on the road level with the stadium and mosied into a bar and low and behold...it was a gay bar  We had a good time though...didn't want to be rude and run!
What in the world are you going to Newport for?

Deb - I love those garage sales too! I think it's the thrill of finding wee treasures. I got a beautiful big dolls house for my girls a couple of weeks ago for $10NZ it needs some work - paint etc but it's going to be my project for the year. I'm going to do it up for them for a Christmas present. I'm getting good at sniffing out the bargains!! Now all I need is some time.....
Have a good day everyone

Hi All!
I'm new as a member to this forum--but have read it for over a year now--off and on. I have done SB before, and lost about 25 pounds--and I know that it has all come back :( (I'm not weighing right now--just want to feel good in my clothes). I have every excuse in the book and the next volume for why I allowed myself to gain the weight back--but the up side to all of this is...I know how to lose it! Been there, done that! Yea! So...here is to a new start!
