Starting the topic for tomorrow.
WW At Home - Weigh-in at home 1/20 - 1/26View Full Version : Weigh-in at home 1/20 - 1/26 JudySP 01-19-2003, 09:47 PM Starting the topic for tomorrow. JudySP 01-19-2003, 10:03 PM Sabrina - your once a week "fat" meal out sounds very yummy - good for your for taking 1/2 of it home. I'll have to try strawberry bar - 3 points is too much for me to want to spend on a snack and I'm with you on needing the portion control. Well, I chickened out from the scale and took a no weigh week. It turns out that it wasn't such a good idea because I have been OUT OF CONTROL this weekend - very PMS'y - lots of salty snacks (mostly pickels and sauerkraut!) and those darned mini-chocolate chips that my DH demolished - I finished off what little was left (which was still a good 6-8 points worth). Anyway today hasn't been much better - we took down the tree today and after being on my feet for almost 3 hours, I decided to save the treadmill for tomorrow. I have snacked way too much tonight but I just had a conversation in myself about how I wanted to be in the 140's by the time I went to Philly (next weekend) and how again, I'm NOT there. I have made a few low point snacks (chocolate chip meringue cookies and the Duncan Hines All Bran muffins - only 1 point if you make some substitutions on ingredients) and have a lot of salad and veggies in the house so I am ready for a recommitment week - there's no way I am going to be at my 10% by the end of March if I don't buckle down and start working the program that I KNOW works - if I WORK it (I know that sounds very 12 step but it still happens to be true ). I'm off tomorrow so I plan on getting up and getting on the treadmill before breakfast. Tony and I are going to try to see "Catch Me if You Can" and I will be taking a bad of Smart Pop (2 points) and a bottle of water with me. That's it - I won't be 10 pounds lighter this coming weekend but I will stop messing around. Have a good night - see you in the morning, Judy 163.6/156/135 (last week's numbers) and 14/240 workouts Merrylegs 01-20-2003, 11:30 AM Good Morning! Carla - Hope things have warmed up for you a little this weekend. We're into fog and drizzle this week. Blech! Have your side effects from your med subsided yet? If not, you could try taking them at bedtime. Tahoe - I've landed on my pride at the gym more than once! Sabrina - your dinner out sounds like it was to die for. Can't find any of those treats up here - the ones I can get aren't worth buying. Judy - sorry you had such a rough weekend. Me too. Friday night I slipped, Saturday wasn't pretty, and Sunday I just crashed and burned. I had one of those I'lleatanythingthatisn'tnailedtothefloor days yesterday and then went to bed early in despair:( After a horrific weekend, I'm feeling back in control again...lacking last week's enthusiasm but I'm determined to put a good day behind me by this evening. Have to go get my eyes checked this morning - I need a new Rx for my contacts/glasses. Going to the gym this afternoon, and have to get the dogs out too. Here's to a good day for all. Karen cece 01-20-2003, 01:04 PM Hi all - Sabrina - You're right about 1/2 cup of ice cream just being a taste. I hope you enjoyed your tasting lunch at the potential caterer. Judy - Well, it sounds like you, Karen and I all had the same weekend. Sounds like you're well stocked for the coming week. You're right, the program does work if we work the program. Here's to a great week for all of us. Karen - It's still cold here - the highest it's been has been in the 20s. I'm tolerating the Toprol much better, thank you. I was a little woozy on Saturday but was fine yesterday and so far today. It's hard to muster that enthusiasm after a couple of bad days, isn't it. Well, as I mentioned, the weekend wasn't pretty. Friday I didn't feel like cooking, so I had John pick up Mexican food on the way home. Saturday wasn't much better. I had a big old muffin at Panera Bread while Ana was in Spanish class and then I picked up chicken strips and potato wedges at the grocery store deli for dinner. Yesterday was better, but not great. I'm back on track today - kicking and screaming, but back on track. No exercise at all this weekend either. Saturday my knee was still a bit stiff and then Saturday night I woke up a few times because it was really hurting me. It hurt quite a bit yesterday too. It's still a bit sore today, but tomorrow I should be back on the bike. I'm not looking forward to weigh-in on Wednesday, but next week I swear I'm going to have a good weigh-in. Have a great OP day. Carla sabrina 01-20-2003, 03:13 PM Hi gals, Well, I have a whopping 1 pound loss to report. :( At least I broke my plateau, but at this rate it is going to take FOREVER to get below the 150 mark--my first major milestone. The lunch at the caterer was great -- I had just tastes of everything -- chicken satay with peanut sauce, spanakopita, salmon with citrus salsa, antipasto, fruits, cheeses, tortas, mmmmm. We decided to go with this guy -- he's really good and willing to go the extra mile -- so that's one more item to cross off my list! Although I have been very good about exercising (5 times at the gym last week!) I haven't been so great about tracking my food. While I haven't been pigging out, I haven't been counting POINTS/calories either. So, it's back to strict portion control and counting again, maybe I'm consuming some "hidden" calories and that is why my loss is slow. Carla - Sorry to hear about your knee problems. Are you recuperating from knee surgery? I ask only because I've had two of them myself (1994) and know how difficult it is. I still get twinges of pain from time to time. Karen and Judy: Sounds like you both had tough weekends. It happens. :) But I like the way you are dusting yourselves off and getting back on program immediately. After all, these mis-steps only turn into falls if we let them ... get yourself back on the bicycle, and all that. :) Well, tonight we are having grilled teriyaki chicken (yes, we use our barbeque all year long), salad, and fresh pineapple. Then off to the gym for weights and cardio. Have a good one and I'll check in later. Sabrina 165.5/161.5/135??? Merrylegs 01-20-2003, 07:52 PM Sabrina - a one pound loss amidst all that exercise is awesome! You're building muscle with all your working out, and as we all know, muscle weighs more than fat, and thankfully takes up less space too. So celebrate that loss - you're doing great!:D Nice that you settled on the caterer...one thing to cross off your mile long list. We barbecue year round too. Carla - how nice of you to join us in our weekend straying! And kicking & screaming or not, welcome back on track too. I was down and out about my completely blown weekend, my trainer cheered me right back up...he said if you ate terribly all week and well only on the weekend, would you get much benefit from it? Probably not. If you turn that around, and eat well all week and blow it on the weekend, would it do much harm? Probably not. I've had a pretty good day so far, doing pork tenderloin with roasted apples for dinner. Exercised at the gym, jogged a bit with the dogs, and vacuumed the whole house (3500 sq ft), so I'd say I've earned my dinner. I ordered my new glasses today, and have to lay off my contacts for a few weeks due to a small corneal abrasion. They have the clip on sunglasses:cool: Hope you're all doing well... Karen Tahoemom 01-20-2003, 09:26 PM Karen, Carla and Judy, I have to say I am glad to see I was not alone on the bad weekend (misery loves company). I hadn't done to well on the points most of the last week and then last night we had some friends over for a game night. Lots of wine was consumed ( and I seemed to have had more than my fair share), popcorn and finally cream puffs. Needless to say I didn't weigh in today. I can't even pretend today was good, whenever I drink I seem to need McDonald's :( Well tomorrow is a new day. A nice fresh page in my journal :) Sabrina, I am extemely impressed. How you only had small tastes of those tasty sounding things. I could never have done it. Karen is right you are adding muscle :) Carla I'm glad you are feeling better with the new meds. Hopefully your body is adjusting and you can get back to your lod pedalling machine. Take care and hopefully everyone got to take advantage of the holiday. Merrylegs 01-21-2003, 11:06 AM Good Morning! Tahoe - Wine happens! At Christmastime I was trying to figure out the calories/points in a glass of wine, and my SIL pointed out I should be calculating for the whole bottle. Take advantage of that nice fresh journal page and record everything. I'm happy to say that I held it together all day yesterday! My trainer's little pep talk helped a lot, and I've quit beating myself up for the weekend. I had a good workout at the gym, and did a few minutes of jogging while I was out with the dogs. I'm off work till next Monday, I'm planning a very self-indulgent week. Have a great day, everyone! Karen cece 01-21-2003, 01:06 PM Hi all, Sabrina - Sounds like you tasted some fantastic food. How nice that you can cross finding a caterer off your to-do list. No, I've never had knee surgery - just bad knees. But this last episode is likely to finally send me to an orthopedist, so who knows what's in store. Karen - I'm glad your trainer's pep talk helped you. I'll have to keep it in mind next time I'm berating myself for a slip. Your dinner sounds great - we had a similarly themed dinner. I made breaded baked pork chops and served applesauce with it. I'd say vacuuming your house sincerely earns you the right to your pork roast. I was lol at figuring out the points for a bottle of wine. That would work for me. I actually someone posted on the ww message boards that they were trying to do the same thing and the consensus was 13 points for the bottle. Tahoemom - Wine, popcorn, and cream puffs sounds yummy to me. Sorry to hear you had a rough day. Just hop back on the wagon with us. Take our hands and we'll pull you back up. I managed to stay OP yesterday and save 4 points. Just as one bad eating day can breed another, one good OP day breeds another, so I'm on track for today. No exercise yet, though. My knee is better, but it's still achy, so I'm still going to take it easy. I'm feeling really tired today (I think a cold might be coming on), so I think I'll take a nice, long nap later. Yum. Talk to you all later. Carla JudySP 01-21-2003, 01:43 PM Not much time to respond to everyone individually - work is nuts today. Sabrina - great news on the loss! Karen - I LOVE what you trainer said - it cheered me up too! Tahoemom - hmmm, having a couple of glasses of wine over the weekend didn't help me either. Carla - sorry to hear you had a weekend like I did! I had a pretty good day yesterday - went over max a little bit on food (1.5) but had run on the treadmill enough to earn me 4 activity points - given that I'm still mired in PMS, I'll call yesterday a pretty good day. As I said, work is nuts. Thankfully I'll have a nice break this evening. A friend from DC is up on business and Tony and I are meeting her for dinner. The main think I have to watch is how many "brewskies" I have - we are going very casual for dinner - pizza probably (1 slice only for me) but I've only had 6 point total so far today (including lunch) so I think I'll be OK. Tony is driving in which will make getting home a whole lot nicer. No exercise today - I hope to do something tomorrow even if it's just a little yoga. Have a great one, Judy Mickey33 01-22-2003, 07:49 AM I have had a hectic week trying to prepare taxes YUCK so I haven't had anytime to get on the computer to see how everyone is doing. Karen-I loved the advise of the trainer. I was not good last weekend either and I am sure with our schedule this weekend isn't going to be any better. Have to spend a day at the college my DD is attending for meetings etc. Then DH and I are going to go out on the town for awhile when we get back. Thanks for the advise about not eating so much ff food. I have been reaching the min. of my points atleast everyday. Sometimes the max. The weather here is terrible only 3 degrees this morning so my DD bought us yet another set of videos . Walk off the Pounds for the abs...... Yeah right not only the abs I never knew I had musles in some of the places that are sore on this body. we do the 2 mile walk everyday awhile after dinner then I have so much energy I clean my house. My DH & DS even joined us last night :) That made it quit interesting. Since my last post I have had a loss of 2 lbs. for a total of 7. I got a gift cert. for WW meetings and will start them feb 6. Gotta run get ready for work. Keep up the good work everyone. Teresa Merrylegs 01-22-2003, 12:11 PM Good Morning from the rainy west coast! Theresa - congratulations on your 2 lb. loss!:D And way to go on getting in all the exercise. That's great that the family are joining you! Judy - too bad you're so frantic at work; but at least it makes the day go quickly. Good for you for treadmilling, I ought to get on mine for a while this morning. Hope the PMS monster is being kept at bay! Carla - Hope your cold doesn't amount to anything. How's the knee today? Those banked 4 points will come in handy! Reporting a .5 lb loss this morning. :) My sneak peak yesterday was to die for, but that's where the scale was this morning. After two weeks of big losses, I wasn't expecting anything spectacular. Spent an hour yesterday walking the dogs, today is leg day at the gym. I like upper body work so much more! Last night we tried our new batch of Merlot that we made in the summer. Not bad for $2 a bottle! Hope you're all having a good day, if the weather doesn't improve, I'll be back later! Karen cece 01-22-2003, 01:21 PM Hi all. Judy - Sorry to hear it's so hectic at work, but like Karen said, it makes the day go by quickly. I hope you enjoyed your dinner out last night. Good for you for saving points for it. Theresa - Congrats on a great loss. I have the WATP two mile walk video as well. I remember it giving me quite a workout. When my knee feels better, I plan on popping it in the VCR again. Karen - Congrats on your loss. That to-die-for sneek peak probably bodes well for next week's weign-in. I've avoided the cold so far. My knee is a bit better, but still hurts. I have to get stuff done around the house and I'm sick of being a slug, so I do a bit and then get off of it. Glad to hear your Merlot turned out. I'm reporting a .8 pound loss. Considering my weekend, I'm ecstatic with this! I hate that I'm losing ground with exercising, but plan on pulling out my weights today so I can get an upper body workout in at least. It's very cold here - single digits and it's supposed to dip below 0 tonight. But at least it's sunny. Talk to you all later. Carla DenGlen 01-22-2003, 02:03 PM Hi, I am new to this group, and glad I found you! I look forward to getting to know you. I need to take off my holiday weight and post-summer gain. Also, we adopted a new daughter this Fall and while it's been great, a new child can also bring a little stress, so I have indulged a bit more than I should have. We now have 4 kids - the oldest is 5 - so we have been very busy. Luckily I have found a great babysitter and am able to make it to the gym, which is helpful. Weighed in today = 161.5. My goal is 150. Even though it's not that much weight to lose, it is very difficult to lose, which is why I am glad I joined this group. I laughed when I read about the post about a bottle of wine...I do love my wine at night and I need to try to curtail that for a while. All the best, Denise Merrylegs 01-22-2003, 02:23 PM Welcome Denise! Glad you found us...we'll do all we can to help you lose those few pounds. Sounds like you live in a very busy house! Carla - congrats on your loss!:D Makes it even better that it came after your (our) weekend slippage! Yay for you for getting out the weights! Just came back from getting my hair cut - shortest I've ever had it. Feeling a little lightheaded:dizzy: ...:D Karen Tahoemom 01-22-2003, 09:22 PM Hi everyone, I'm not sure what just happened so if you see a partial note from me just ignore it. Congrats to all of you who have lost weight. :) I have not been on program at all. I don't even have an excuse. So right now I need a kick in the fanny. I do have to pat myself on the back because even though I am eatting like there is no tomorrow, I have become friends with my treadmill again. Yesterday a 3 mile jog and today I plan on doing a walk with my ankle weights. Welcome Denise, It sounds like you have a very busy life. I am glad you are finding a little time to devote to yourself. These ladies are quite funny and very real. Good luck and I hope you have some fun with this. Judy, thank you for the recipe, It sounds great. I am not allowing myself to make them until I am back into the swing of things and staying on program. Take care and wishing you continued success. JudySP 01-23-2003, 10:56 AM Teresa - congratulations on your loss! That's great - also good news about the Walk Away the Pounds video. I know what you mean about having energy afterwards. Karen - Congratulations on your loss - that's great - 3 weeks in a row?? I love that you made your own Merlot - I wouldn't even know where to start. Way to go on walking the dogs for an hour - do you still have lovely weather? It's an absolute icebox here. Carla - congratulations on a great loss! Good idea on the weights - even if your knee is still bothering you, you can get some exercise in (it doesn't HAVE to be aerobic all the time). Denise - welcome and I'm glad you found us. Wow, life in your house must be hectic - but it's great that you've worked it out so you can get to the gymn. Tahoemom - I'm sorry to hear you've been having a hard time - so here it is KICK!!!!!! Did ya' feel it? The important thing is that you get back on - even if it's a little at a time - start with the veggies, or the water. baby steps as we like to say here. That's great about continuing with the treadmill. I think you are smart not to make the cookies until you are firmly back on program. I've had a rough couple of days -s tressful at work (not bad stress though) and I've snacked a bit too much - last night also combined a fight with Tony - of course, what I ate did not make me feel better but there you go. I tallyed the damage and I'm only 1 point in the deficit column if I take my activity points from Monday into account. At least I got TOM so PMS is over. My sneak peek today wasn't nice but I'm sure TOM has a lot to do with that. I plan on getting some kind of exercise in today - probably after work at this point. Of course, given that it's something like 10 degrees out, it will be a tape! Have a great one, Judy cece 01-23-2003, 11:21 AM Hi all. Denise - Welcome and congratulations on the adoption of your daughter. When I started doing WW (over 4 years ago), I did really well and then we adopted our daughter and boom - the weight started creeping back on. So I know what you mean. Good for you for doing something good for yourself. Hang with us and we'll help you along. Karen - Don't you look lovely with your new do! I've been wearing my hair short for years and I love it. So easy to take care of - I just wash it and go. Tahoemom - Here's my Kick. I'll echo Judy - baby steps. Judy - Sorry you've had some snarky snacky days. You're deficit is certainly managabe. I'm going to the doctor today with my knee. I thougt this morning that it was feeling better, but then the pain became excrutiating. I called my doctor's office and am seeing an associate of his, since I don't have an orthopedic doctor. I figured I was more likely to get into my dr.'s office today and, if I need an orthopedic specialist will be more likely to get into one sooner with a referral from my doc. I forgot to post my stats yesterday, so I'll post them now. Have a great day. Carla 271.4/265/244 - 1st 10%/140 Merrylegs 01-23-2003, 11:58 AM Hi Everyone! Just a quick post as I need to dash out between showers to get the dogs out for a run... Carla - hope it's nothing serious with your knee! Good luck at the Dr. I've had my hair short for a few years, but it's shorter than ever now...I'm with you...out of the shower, a few drops of gel, a quick scrunch here and there, and away I go. Judy - I'm sure you'll be dropping water weight now that TOM is here. Arguing with Mike always sends me straight to the kitchen too. It would be sooo much more productive if I got the sudden urge to clean windows or toilets:lol: Tahoe - how great that you're on good terms with your treadmill again! That's terrific. I echo Judy and Carla...if you can't do everything, do just one to start with. You'll probably find that you're losing once you start exercising regularly anyway. Jogged 15 min on the TM yesterday afternoon and did lower body at the gym. Had dinner out with a GF last night, we split 2 appys and a small rustic pizza...very little cheese. Had 2 bellinis too, but what the heck! We went to see About Schmidt after. Not what I was expecting, but good. Jack Nicholson was brilliant in it. Oops, the short post is getting a bit long. Better get out with the dogs... Karen Kali's Mama 01-23-2003, 04:21 PM Hi Ladies! I'm Kori and could really use some words of advise/ encouragement! I can't decide if I should start going back to the meetings for WW or not. It just seems like they say the same stuff over and over. I haven't been that good this week either. Last night we went to dinner at OutBack Stake House, and for lunch we eat in the mall... Today I've done REALLY good so far, it's just a matter of keeping it up. Thanks! Kori Kali's Mama 01-23-2003, 04:24 PM OH! I forgot. I got on the scale this am and I am 160. Still down 5 pounds- but who knows with the damage from yesterday! JudySP 01-23-2003, 05:01 PM Carla - I'm really glad that you made a doctor's appt for your knee. It's been sore too long (IMHO) - good move! I like that - snarky snacky days - too cute. Do you still get Natural Ovens stuff? I just realized that their bagels just about count as a milk - 20% calcium - a "shipment" came today and they put a whole grain bagel sample in there. Karen - LOL! Yeah, it would be great if a fight with Tony sent me straight to clean toilets - hasn't happened yet - don't think it will! What's a bellini?? Wow - good going on the TM. Congratulations on your dinner out. Doesn't it feel good when you can manage a dinner out? I did pretty well myself on Tuesday. I did have 2 light beers but I had the grilled salmon with corn salsa and asparagus and I didn't have one piece of bread. About Schmidt is the movie I want to see next - Tony (surprisingly 'cause he doesn't usually like musicals and loves Jack) wants to see Chicago. Hi Kori, and welcome. Congratulations on being 5 pounds down (still). As for meetings, I guess the question is, is what you are doing now working? If so, and you don't feel like you get anything out of the meetings, then don't go. I went back because I found myself having stalled and needed the "kick". Of course, I've stalled a bit now but I get a lot out of my meetings - I've met good people, enjoy seeing them, I like my leader and I get good tips/tricks, new foods, etc. I did a good cardio workout with some abs - I'm pleased with myself because TOM is making my legs feel a bit like lead. I may try to do a little upper body tonight while watching TV. Have a great one and for those of us in the mid-west or northeast, stay warm! Judy Tahoemom 01-23-2003, 09:50 PM Hello ladies, and a special welcome to Kori :) Thanks for all the kicks. Judy, way to go on your workouts. What are Natural Oven stuff? I struggle to get in all my milks, so this is peaking my interest. Carla I know I am repeatting what everyone else is saying but I am glad to hear you went to the doctors. It is not worth really hurting yourself, hopefully you had some good news. Karen I am totally impressed. Jogging and then a lower body workout. Hopefully someday I can do 2 workouts in one day too. Today was actually a pretty good day for me. A lot of babysteps. I might be over my points ( I need to do a quick tally), but I feel succesful. We hit Mcdonald's today and I only had the side salad/no dressing. The fries looked good but I knew they would bring me down. Then tonight I just got back from my WOW class and I increased my weights for some of the exercises and I manged to catch myself before I fell over doing squats. Tomorrow will be a cardio day. JudySP 01-24-2003, 10:23 AM Tahoemom - Way to go on pawssing up those fries! You are getting back OP for sure! Natural Ovens are bread products made in the mid-west. They are all natural, very high fiber, whole grain, etc. and the points are always great. Most of their breads are 1 point for 2 slices and are really substantial. Their bagels are not quite like NYC bagels but they are good, much lower point and very healthy. I get their products shipped to me and then freeze them because they have no preservatives. Their stuff is not cheap and because there are no preservatives, in the summer I pay for 3 day air shipping but they are worth it to me. Their website is www.naturalovens.com. I had an OK day yesterday, I did cardio and strength workouts and did OK pointwise but I did snack before bedtime - not tonight though. With the activity points I earned yesterday, I have 1.5 points in the bank. I'm taking the afternoon off to go to the motor vehicle dept (I bought my car after my lease ended) so I will do a cardio and/or yoga workout later. I'm getting my hair trimmed around 5 today and then I have to start thinking about packing for the weekend. We'll be away from Saturday to Monday, so I won't be able to start the thread early on Monday. If I don't get back on today, have a great weekend, Judy cece 01-24-2003, 12:11 PM Hi all. Karen - Mmm - your dinner out sounds scrumptious. I want to see About Schmidt too. I guess I'll rent the DVD when it comes out. Kori - Welcome and congratulations on a good weight loss so far. As far as the meetings, I started doing this at home because at the time meetings weren't convenient to my schedule and I knew from past experience that if meetings became a hassle, I'd stop going and I'd give up altogether. You might want to check out a different leader/meeting. If you still don't find them helpful, then stop going and see if you can do this without meetings. You can always restart meetings if need be. Judy - Yes I still do get the N.O. stuff. It's the only bread we have in the house and I get their bagels too. In fact, my standard breakfast lately has been a sandwich of a N.O. whole grain bagel, a slice of 2% cheese and a Morningstar Farms breakfast patty. I never thought to check the calcium content of the bagel. That means that with one breakfast sandwich I'm getting in nearly all my milk requirements. Great. Sounds like you did great at dinner too - good job! Have a fun weekend away. Tahoemom - Congrats on a good day yesterday. One good day begets another, so you're well on your way! The diagnosis on my knee was a mild sprain. I'd hate to feel a bad sprain! Man, did getting it x-rayed ever hurt. I thought I was going to scream. And last night I was cursing the doctor for not perscribing me a narcotic. (He gave me an anti-inflammatory with a pain killer and it didn't do much for the pain.) But so far today my knee is feeling much better - still a bit stiff but no pain. I'll take it easy still for the next couple of days and hopefully next week I'll be back on the bike. Had a pretty good day yesterday and am on track for a good one today too. No plans this weekend, so as long as I can get to a grocery store to restock my fridge and pantry, I'll be ok. Have a good day and a great weekend. Carla msgolden25 01-24-2003, 11:14 PM Hello Everyone, My name is Golden and I am from MD. I am 29 years old, married with a 4 year old son. Currently I weigh 184 lbs. I've never really been an overweight child until 4 years ago. I was a size 9 before I had my son but now I wear a size 14/16. My overall goal is to loss weight and be able to run 3 miles. I would really like to get back into a size 8/9. So I am looking to lose between 45-50 lbs. I just started the 123 program today. So I am looking for some advice and some tips. I've found a very useful site by the name of Dotti's weightloss zone. Good luck to us all and see you lighter. Golden Merrylegs 01-25-2003, 02:36 PM Hi Everyone... Welcome Kori & Golden. Hope you find the support you're looking for here! We'll do our best to help you on your way!:) Kori, congrats on your great loss so far:cp:. Golden, you're right, DWLZ is a great site! Carla, glad to hear that your knee is going to be okay!! :D Your weekend sounds about as ambitious as mine. All I need to do is grocery shop. As part of my New Year's Resolutions, I vowed to plan the week's dinners every week, and to grocery shop accordingly, a) to reduce the stress of figuring out what to eat at the last minute, and b) to plan my meals to include a big variety of veggies. I was buying tons of veggies every week and having half of them rot in the fridge. Anyway, to make a short story long, I have stuck to this for four weeks now, and it's making my life much easier, and has made grocery shopping a breeze. Plus I'm including mega veggies into dinner. Judy, hope your weekend away is wonderful...I hope we can pull off starting a new thread without you! Up here, I buy Silver Hills bakery stuff...full of fibre and very, very tasty. It's the only stuff I buy, except for the occasional loaf of white for french toast. Tahoe, well done with your baby steps! :bravo: One day at a time. I quit going to McDonalds a few years ago when I decided I'd better set a better example for my DD who went through an eat nothing but fast food phase. Now I can't stomach the thought of going. She's turned into an organic food only vegetarian now...went from one extreme to the other. Well, you can just call me Speed Demon! :D For a GF's birthday, four of us were going to go snowshoeing in the mountains. Unfortunately yesterday morning it was warm, windy and wet, so it would have been miserable. So instead we went Go Kart racing, it was a blast...and I lapped everybody and posted the 10th fastest lap time of the whole day!! On the uncool side, I ate terribly and got no exercise all day...what ever, back on track today. Have a great weekend! Karen Tahoemom 01-25-2003, 10:16 PM Hello everyone A special welcome to Golden. Golden I don't know that website. I will have to check it out. Karen, GoKart racing sounds like a blast. I'm sure the excitement got your heart racing a bit, which is good. I have to say I am beginning to hate McDs. Unfortunately it is the only place for the kids to run around in town. I am looking forward to my toddler getting a little bigger (he is quite short) so he can handle the snow better. Carla I hope the knee is feeling even better. I am sure you are looking forward to getting back on your bike. Enjoy the rest of the weekend. Thank all of you for the encouragements on my baby steps. I have to say I feel like I am crawling lately and not walking. But exercise is exercise :) vBulletin® v3.6.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
