Start weight July 31- 217.8
I vow to never see 220 again :)
My monthly weigh ins are on the 15th of the month. My goal is 1-2# wt loss a week or 4-8# a month. I lost 10lbs for the month of July. I'm ready for August!!!!
Working 28 today, had shredded wheat biscuit, cheese and 1/2 grapefruit for breakfast. Now enjoying brocolli/yellow pepper/tomatoes covered in cheese and a salad ;) Avoided the "skinny" ice cream in the cafe..the one I have at home is sugar free and I've been having a cup almost every night and still losing weight! We'll see what happens for dinenr...I'm going to either do chicken wings or cheese for my protein and maybe have a piece of fruit instead of veggies.
Why am I telling you this...so that I DO IT!!!! :)

kwigg - You can come edit your first post if you like, some people do and some don't. This thread gets pretty chatty too and most of us check in each day with a new post that includes our weight for the day as well. I gave up on editing my first post and no longer even include the list of dates in it because I never remembered to edit it. I just put my weight and how much down or up I am from the day before in my daily post and then let everyone know what my total was at the end of the month.

My weigh in day is Wednesday. I'll see how this goes, but those of you in the July thread know I hate this daily weigh in. I LIKE WEDNESDAY! lol If I don't post my weight every day, please forgive me this failing! I love the people in this thread and will stay, even if I weigh only on Wednesday.

Good luck to all in August. This month is a big challenge month for me. Family wedding on the 13th - out of town, so there are several days where things aren't as easy as when you're home. And vacation at the end of the month. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Kwigg -- I just make a new post. This is a pretty active thread, that usually reaches 500 posts 1/2 way through the month so it could get a little nuts trying to track down our original posts.

LGW - What an amazing July! WTG!!

Nori -- Great goals...good luck!

Lin - No worries! :D

MadameZombie -- You can totally make it!

Allison -- Welcome!!

Jeri -- No worries about having to be creative on your own. A few of us had been throwing around ideas for August's thread title. Let us help out next time. :D

Hi everyone! This is my first daily weigh in, but I've been doing it myself every day since I started the diet a few weeks ago, so I figure I'll post it here to hold myself accountable to more than just me seeing my fluctuations.

July 31st: 254.4 lbs

August:
1 256.2 (Weekend celebrating caught up to me) 1660 calories
2 255.6 - starting to get it under control. 1950 calories

Hi Everyone! Can you believe August is already here? That's crazy! I will be busy with month end stuff at work this week. I probably won't be able to do much with personals this week. I hope everyone has a successful month! We can meet our goals! :carrot:

Diana good job on the .2 down yesterday :) Diana I'm gonna PM you. I am sorry about your Moms comments  I know you looked great in your jeans  My yesterday was the pits (stupid me). Sodium is just mean we need to call it some ugly name like TOM :D

Rennie I received your PM. Thank you for your support. I'm sorry yesterday didn't go well. Hang in there. Don't even get me started on the sodium! ;)

I'm sure you look great in the jeans - and no matter what she says, remember this:

As long as your legs reach from your butt to the ground, they are the perfect length!

Weigh In Friday.... Im Ready!

Hello!

I'm down 12 pounds for July! :woohoo: I'm only .3 pounds away from my end of July mini-mini goal, so hopefully I will hit it tomorrow!

Once again I fell asleep while writing personals last night - lol. So they were posted this morning back on the July thread.

:welcome: MeliZ, Chantelle, Allison, and Kwigg!

Kwigg - You can right-click on any users name and select "find other posts" (something like that), so to find my original WI post I come into the forum, go to my most recent post, and click on my own name :) Much easier that way than trying to go through the thread to find the post!

OK, I really have to get going to work. Excited for a new month and hopefully a new decade (which, ssshhh, would be in ONEderland sshhh :tape: )!

This looks like just the blog I need. Rejoined 3FCs on 7/28 as 210. Starting Aug at 205.6. Goal for August: get below 200. No weight lost today, although I think this is my digestive system adjusting to the low-carb diet!

Morning! I'm up .6 to 207.2 this morning. You may be wondering how one can weigh more in the morning than they did in the evening...the answer my friend is SODIUM. Well, nothing to do but move on.

Rennie - I can't change the thread name because I didn't start this one, but I'm not even sure though that Jeri can change it now though.

Not sure what to do today, it's hot now, but calling for thunderstorms later, so maybe bowling. I'd love to go to a movie today (I'm a movie lover) but we were at the drive in the other night and saw The Smurfs and Zookeeper so I'm not sure there are kids movies left to see.

I'm up .6 today to 169. Angie, I'd prefer we had twin losses though ;). TOM has been playing peek-a-boo with me for over a week, I just love PCOS. I figure that is the cause. That's ok, I'm just going to channel Ona and keep :sumo: I'm off to the gym for weights and zumba and then home for lunch and P90X Legs, back, and abs. by the end of today I will have done 400-500 ab exercises:dizzy:, hello soreness! :)

Good Morning Everyone

Kwigg :welcome: I go back to my original post because I keep a thread of my own going so I copy and paste it there at the end :). I post it with all of my comments and compliments daily in a new post on here also :)

LGW 220 is my daughters birthday and I cried the first time I saw it on the scale and like you I vow to never ever see that number again  You can tell us any and everything you want ... we always listen. Your meals sound good BTW, healthy ...

Roxy love your goals and YOU know you have them in the bag ... a piece of cake for you  Oh my goodness you are a workout Queen.

Lindy good job on the .8 down :) great way to start the month off :) Nice loss for July :)

Nori :welcomw: Enjoy yourself best of luck to you while on vacation :)

Lin just edit your calender for only Wednesday dates ... we love you too, so glad you're sticking around ... don't weigh daily it's fine  Do you have your outfit/dress for the wedding?

MadameZ you're not far from 159 you can do it :)

Allison :welcome: how are you liking Curves? Do they do Zumba at yours?

Hi Chantelle

Angie I thought I'd ask since we always have the best titles. You know last night I stepped on the scale and it said 180.6. I thought :yikes: but Diana I couldn't resist the frosted flakes ... oh man they are so good  I know that's not funny but ... gotta laugh sometimes ;) We are going bowling today. I got an email from the bowling alley saying free bowling for the kids, so I signed up, still gotta pay for the shoes though :D. Have fun Angie

Jami

Vixsin send some of that focus juice my way please ;) thanks in advance

MeliZ :welcome:

LOL Diana I found that .2 that you lost LOL. have a great day

Hi Beck

Hi Vladadog good to see you

Future good job on the 1.2 gone, what a great way to start the month :) Oh my goodness, that is a great lost for the month YOU GO GIRL :high: Also if you go to Quick Links at the top of the page, a drop down menu will appear, click on subscribed threads and each thread that I post in comes up. That's how I find where I've posted ;)

haggis :welcome: Wow 4.4lbs down from 7/28 to today, you're doing great :)

Hi ilbnej

Time2Get :welcome:

Hi goal4agirl :welcome: I fell off too, we'll do better this month :)

Ok as I said the frosted flakes got the best of me last evening and I saw 180.6 on the scale before bed :yikes:. so even though I have a .2 gain this morning it beats the heck out of 180 so I'll take it. So far today is on plan and I hope to keep it that way. ONE day at a time.

See you all later, have a great OP day

Angie

Roxy -- We can work on the twin losses for tomorrow :)

Lindy -- Congratulations on the 6.8 loss for July!

Haggis -- :welcome:

Rennie -- Good morning! If we end up bowling today I will think of you! Please avoid frosted flakes and cinnamon rolls for the rest of today..lol.

Mandy 8.6lbs gone is very good for the month. I'm glad you didn't throw in the towel. Everyday we learn something new, just take it in stride  And I have pancakes every weekend with regular syrup :) Saturday I ate a flaxseed meal pancake because I had that huge zucchini/squash/onion omelet and yesterday I only had two pieces/squares off the kids plates. I think with me it's the syrup that I crave. :D

Thanks Future for your comment to me on the July thread it means a lot  Glad you finally got your blizzard :)

Angie LOL I picked up the box this morning and put it back down, SO FAR SO GOOD :D.

For those of you that eat the Fiber One brownies they are on sale at Target 2 for $5 that price is way better than Walmart (that always sells out anyway). I bought a box of the peanut butter kind. I don't care for them but I'll eat it when I want peanut butter and see if it can kick that craving :).

time to get ready before I change my mind :p

April 2011 - Lost 2.2 lbs
May 2011 - Lost 10 lbs
June 2011 - Lost 6.7 lbs
July 2011 - Lost 6.2 lbs
August 2011 goal - 249.7 (-10 lbs)!!

July 31: 259.7
1: 259.9 (+0.2)

The last week in July was quite a disappointment for me. It's the first time since I started this journey, that the daily fluctuations really got to me. The numbers were all over the place and I honestly had no explanation as to why. Usually, if I gained, I was able to tie it to some mis-step in previous days. I thought it was sodium but then I never saw a whoosh soooo...who the heck knows. Anyway, my comittment was wavering and I very nearly talked myself out of going to the gym this morning because of my "poor me" attitude. I shook it off though and climed back up on that horse.

My theme music this month is that little whistle you hear in western movies when the good guy and the bad guy face off and stare each other down in the middle of a dirt and tumbleweed ladden town.

IT'S ON!!

Vix - Oh, it's brrrung! Let's do this!!

Diana -- Sounds like August will pass by quickly too with you being so busy at work.

Beck -- As always, you threw down some fantastic numbers! EXCELLENT WORK!!

FutureThoughts -- You had an amazing July woman! SPECTACULAR work! You are on the express train to ONEderland baby!!

Haggis -- Good luck getting to ONEderland this month. I personally think that's an incredibly reasonable goal and that you'll not only get there but surpass it!

Angie -- Boo on the .6. :crossed: that you and Roxy not only have twin losses but twin WHOOSHES!! I LOVE the drive-ins! We even go in the winter time and sometimes in the rain. It's SO much fun!!

Roxy -- You are an amazing workout maniac! LOVE IT!!

Lindy -- CONGRATS on finding that new low in July! I'm certain you'll see another new low at the end of this month as well!

Matilda -- Getting to 225 is a challenging but reasonable goal. You CAN do it!!

Rennie/Angie -- We definitely need a nickname for  sodium!

MeliZ, Vladadog, Jen, GoalGirl, Time2Get, Jeri --

Hey ladies. Just a quick one for me, it's been busy busy these days and I haven't had much time for personals, but I'm thinking of you all

I ended July with a gain, horrible when there's a long weekend at the end of it, but it was an amazing weekend with great friends and lots of food and wine/beer involved. Went to a baseball game yesterday to watch one of my favourite childhood players get his number retired. I was so emotional, and what a day!

Anyhoos, August is starting off for me at 204.1, some of which is water and sodium (ballpark food is NOT healthy and I did not plan well). My goals this month are to make sure I'm getting my workouts in and to try at least 3 new healthy types of food (spaghetti squash, quinoa and I haven't picked a third yet). This is huge for me though because as all of my friends know, I'm an incredibly picky eater and trying new foods is sometimes the most difficult thing for me. But I can and will do it!

311.4 this morning! I think I may be figuring out how to eat (finally) it has only taken me 3 weeks. Joined my fitnesspal to track my calories and I think what I was doing wrong the first 2 weeks is not eating enough calories! Someone of my size needs 1700 cal (or more if working out) to lose 2 lbs a week. Turns out, most days I was barely at 1,200. I notice when I up my calories (of course by choosing healthy things) the weight comes off again quickly. I'm going to try to eat most of my allotted calories this week and see how it goes! Maybe it just takes some time for me to figure out what my body needs!

love - I am absolutely enjoying my curves workout! Yes, they have Zumba and I am hooked! I work out at curves 5-6 days a week and 2 of those days are Zumba Circuit days! It is so much fun! The time flies by! Also, I've been noticing big changes in my body shape. I am due to be measured next week so I will report back with inches!

Hope everyone has a great monday! Thank you all for being so welcoming! I am excited to be here!

Well my scale was completely insane this morning. I am up 2.2 to 187.8! :yikes: Really, scale? Really?? Stupid scale!

So I celebrated (not really) my year anniversary of being on this journey!!! I have never stuck to anything this long and this determined before! I am proud to say that I am doing it!

There are all kinds of reasons. I ate well yesterday after not getting enough calories for the day on Saturday and being dehydrated. I also did not get nearly enough sleep for the last few nights. I did pretty good last night but will be able to do better today.

My eating is on plan today and it will be fine for supper. My exercise this week will primarily be cleaning the $%^& out of my house. It's not horrible, I'm just tired of the too many unfinished projects that I have going on in EVERY room!!! So, going to work on that a bit this week. :) Going to try and get a Yoga workout at least once a week this month.

I'm claiming my loss for July as 4.4 lbs. Not as great as I'd hoped but very happy with a loss at all! I really can't complain about losing a pound a week.

Fighting on!!!! :sumo:

Rennie -- Putting the box down is an excellent start! I wish we had Fiber One brownies here! (Or maybe I don't!)

Jeri -- Thanks for trying to change the title :)

Matilda -- Welcome back from vacation and illness! We are here to support you on your way back to 225!

Jami -- I think sometimes our bodies hang on to sodium longer than we expect. I am pretty sure my success in the last week was a lot to do with the water retention from the sodium filled week before. You may still see it come off over the next few days. In any case, water or fat, keep the faith and stick with your plan, because that will DEFINITELY work better than not sticking with your plan. (I'm a master at stating the obvious...lol) I'd like to nominate this guy: :joker: as our representative of sodium. I'd like to see a water-retention smilie that sweats out water then shrinks.

Kukkie -- Good luck with your new food experiment. How about eggplant? Do you eat that? A lovely little recipe is a round slice of eggplant brushed with olive oil, then a slice of tomato on top with a teensy bit of cheese on that (any kind you like, cheddar, mozz, goat cheese...anything) and maybe a little basil or oregano. Just stick that sucker under the broiler until it's kind of shrivelly and melty. Yum!

Allison -- Good luck with the new calorie level. I find a lot of people try to start at 1200 calories, but you're so right, bigger bodies need more fuel to work properly. You may also end up finding that you are sensitive to some types of foods; are you tracking what you eat as well?

Vixsin -- If they had a gun smilie here I would shoot your scale for you. Happy Anniversary!! Good for you for sticking to this for one year, you should be very proud of yourself and all that you have accomplished so far, not to mention the great example you're setting for Maxwell by modeling great eating and exercising habits! You rock! Congrats on 4.4 for July :)

 This week's pie is in the oven...it's an apple pie made with my friend Splenda. 211 calories per piece, this will fit nicely into my day for dessert.

How do you guys think butter chicken would be on spaghetti squash? I'd like to make some, but I don't want to have the carb-heavy rice with it. Any other ideas for what would go well? Hmm...maybe riced cauliflower?

FitGirlyGirl
08-01-2011, 02:51 PM
Gym down, P90X to go! RAWR!!!!

So, my diet plan right now is 1500 calories and under 40% carb. I am thinking to have a day each week that I allow 1800 and 60%. Do you guys think it would be best to have that be the same day each week?

Rennie - The Fiber One bars come in a peanut butter flavor and it is much more peanut buttery than the brownies are.

Jami - I am lovin' the theme music! Right now for me it is Eminem - Not Afraid.

Vixsin - I'm sorry the scale was a jerk today. Congrats on your 1 year! :woohoo:

Angie - What about putting it on some lentils? Or if you'd like a fresher taste, some broccoli slaw (without any dressing of course)?

Diana3271

Angie I think both sound great. I posted this question this morning. Do you have any ideas how to make spaghetti squash into a dessert?

Kukkie - I'm a "picky" eater too so good for you for making one your goals be about trying new and healthy foods.

Allison -- Good for you! I definitely think it's normal for it to take some to figure out how our bodies work and what we need to do to get results. Nice job paying attention!

Vixsin -- Happy Anniversary! Sorry it started out such a dud but you've been doing so amazingly, that lil' bump has got to come off soon!

Angie -- I agree! Sodium...that lil' joker...should be represented by :joker:. Yes indeed, the sodium inside is laughing...just like that guy! LOL. And yes, you're so right about sticking to our plans! IT WORKS!

Roxy -- Oooh...Emenim is always a good one for me too. He's so...energetic and angry...his stuff really gets me moving!

LGW -- I'm laughing about your WI today. Why do we do that? LOL!!

Mandy -- .5 is not bad considering how far over you went. I hope you feel better soon.

Angie
08-01-2011, 05:55 PM
Roxy -- I think the set day depends on what you are looking for...I could see making it a set day so that even on this day you are making a plan, it's intentional. On the other hand, if you want flexibility then I would leave it as a floating day, and you can use it on a day when you're in an unplanned for situation (ie/ invited to eat at a friends place at the last minute). Lentils are a good idea, I don't really eat them now, I'll have to go look up some info.

Diana -- My favourite recipe site is http://allrecipes.com/, and I found this recipe for Mock Coconut Pie (http://allrecipes.com/recipe/mock-coconut-pie-spaghetti-squash-pie/detail.aspx) there (made with spaghetti squash).

Mandy -- Sorry for the crummy day. Hope you find a way to brighten it up a bit.

Jami -- I'm working on flushing out our little joker friend...on my 4th big container of water. Buh bye little guy... :joker:

Hi, everyone. I'm pretty sure Sandi, the 100 pound club mod can change the name of the thread because I saw they changed the "decade" thread that was getting out of the 290's. Since they wanted to all stay together as a group they changed it to encompass all of the 200's.

Sandi- - we need your help!

Angie I put the box down this morning hooray, then when we came back from bowling I grabbed it first thing hoorid <---- (my new spelling word had to use hoor ;)) but today I am only over by 97 calories. :) Angie I will gladly mail you a box. Can't we do that people mail food all the time. PM me your address. I don't think you'll want to much fiber in your body in one day, not good :lol:He's to cute to be called sodium, I think. But he is always playing around with our weight, so maybe he's a good fit :D

LOL eclipse that's fine I love that I have it in my Quick Links for easy access. 'cause August Daily Weigh In my goodness, there must be one in every group ;) I like your weigh in much better than mine but what's going on with the .2's

Jami I'll tell you that .2 is every where :D AND MS. LADY (I'm yelling)
"poor me" attitude. <--- this is not YOU. This is YOU ---> I shook it off though and climbed back up on that horse. You GO LADY  LOL I just heard that music on the movie Rango, Yes it is ON :) LOL I need a nickname too,

Kukkie good to see you, Sunday was emotional but a good emotional right (if that makes sense ). I had a bad July also but oh well it is what it is. I want to try some of the recipes on Mandy's thread, but you don't eat meat, there's always substitutions though. And I so want to eat oatmeal because of all of the benefits from it. I just don't know how to make it firmer, it can't be sticky. I need to find a menu per week and eat the same thing daily. It needs to be already ready :) we'll do better this month

Allison I'm glad you are enjoying it. We have a new dance place that opened here and they teach Zumba classes and once going a few times the Zumba in the circuit started to not be so much fun. When I first joined Curves and went faithfully I lost several inches but this time I've been such a slacker that nothing is coming off. I now also have the Zumba Exhilaration DVD's and they are definitely worth purchasing, what a workout. I'm sure you'll be pleased with your measurements keep up the good work. Glad you found your correct daily calorie intake. I can never get mine right, however I don't plan like I use to either. I'm just a mess at this point :D

Vixsin Happy Journey Anniversary  4.4 is great, you know what works and that 2.2 has got to be stupid :joker: sodium showing his ugly self. You're doing great. :)

Roxy it may be better to pick the same day each week for the higher numbers, then you'll know if your body likes it or not. I bought one box of the peanut butter flavor, but I didn't particularly care as much for it. I don't know what it was that didn't totally appeal to me but I figure I'll eat one of the pb flavor ones when I get that urge for pb ;).

Diana the bowling alley had reece's peanut butter pie :D

Hi Matilda

LGW I say the same thing and step on the scale anyway also, it's just habit I guess and the idea of always knowing :) hope your weigh in tomorrow is a great one

Mandy feel better  I'm all bloated from the crap that I keep eating :( and .5 isn't bad at all ... get that water in

Good to see you Arctic Mama, I'm hoping it will only take a week for me to get it in gear, gonna try to plan out a few days tonight or at least tomorrow and see if I can stick with it :crossed:

Vicki good to see you, praying for your MIL's health to improve. good luck to you :)

ok I'm still gonna hit the treadmill for 30 minutes since I didn't do it earlier and it is one of my goals. My calories today are only over by 97 which is a plus, that's a good start calorie wise, carbs are over by 74 and sodium by 180mg. I'll come back with better numbers after my 30 minute walk. See you in a few.

Where is Ona, Coondocks, Gale, Leah is still MIA, Rhonda, Roxie and I know I am missing some of you but you are not forgotten. BBL

Angie - Or if you'd like a fresher taste, some broccoli slaw (without any dressing of course)?

OMG Angie!! EVERYTHING tastes better on broccoli slaw!!!! I have some cooked chicken (4oz) on top of it and add dressing for a super yummy salad.

Diana -- I found another recipe for a custard (http://baking.food.com/recipe/spaghetti-squash-custard-pie-for-weight-watchers-297937), and it's weight watchers! :)

Rennie -- You are so sweet to offer! I would love that, but they won't let you mail food across the border. I will have to wait until we go across to Buffalo. I'll be sure to get some though. I make my oatmeal very thick, can't stand it runny. After your walk you'll work away that extra 97 calories, no problem, you got this!

Roxy & Vixsin -- Okay, I'm going to have to try it on Broccoli slaw -- I do love Broc slaw, but never have used it with hot food...I always eat it raw.

Ona -- Good job holding on to that number!

LGW - My Trader Joe's has organic broccoli slaw for $1.99 a bag

Love - I guess time will tell if I have my calories right! I know that there has to be something with the trend I noticed so I will give this a week and see. I bet those all Zumba dance classes are a blast!

Jami - Thanks! Fingers crossed!

Angie - I am tracking what I eat. It's funny that you say that because I was thinking the same thing. Actually, I started the Clean Program today. After 21 days of eating Clean and removing foods that people are known to have sensitivities to, I can add certain foods back in slowly to kind of test to see how I feel with eating certain foods and if I have any sensitivities to them.

Angie and Vixsin I'm gonna have to check out that broccoli slaw :)

Hi puneri

Hey Ona same is better than an up like me and it's your 180  Hope you had a wonderful day

Angie :D I tried. Chinese was brought home for dinner and I hadn't planned to have any but I did anyway. One measured unpacked cup of vegetable fried rice. The walk gave me 138 calories to spare but I don't have any way to calculate the rice the range is crazy so I'll just cross my fingers for a good weigh in. I read yesterday 1/2 fresh lemon to 1.5 cups of water so I had that also. I'm trying really hard here :D

Blanch :welcome:Good job on the .2 down :) ... that is a really interesting avatar.

LGW I saw broccoli slaw in the bag salad section at the supermarket. I use the bag cole slaw shreds.

Allison the classes are a blast. I was hoping that someone on here would give you calorie to age/weight site. I know that's what I used when I first started. MFP gives you a calorie range, the site actually decreased mine by 10. I don't know why though, maybe something I did on there :dizzy:

kwigg great NSV with the chocolate :high:

ok treadmill check in

~31.40 time (put in 32min. in MFP)
~ 1.75 distance
~ 3.3-3.5 speed
~ 3.5 incline
~ 228 calorie burn on treadmill 235 calorie burn on MFP

Vickie -- Yes, this is the first summer I've honestly tried to lose weight and it doesn't take much for me to slip or jump right off plan. You add on vacations and everything else you've dealt with and it feel next to impossible. BUT...you CAN do it, and so can I!

Rennie -- Thanks. There were a few times today when I came across something sweet and calorie/sodium riddled and as I stared that delicious high calorie food down...I heard the whistle! LOL...one time, I even drew my gun and shot it. HA! It's actually a pretty good visualization technique! I'm really sorry to hear to you had a rough day. You'll get back on track soon, I'm sure...one good decision at a time! Chug that lemon water girly!!

Vixsin -- I'm going to have to try that broccoli slaw too!

Kwigg -- You are SO right. NSVs are at least important as the scale if not more because of how much we need them when the scale isn't moving! Congrats on showing that chocolate who's boss!

Kwigg - :high: Great job with defeating the craving! Chocolate is a MAJOR weakness of mine!

Allison - I'm intrigued by the Clean Eating Program...I think I'm going to have to google it later on!

Ona - Nice holding steady!

puneri - hi!

Vixsin, Angie, Diana, FitGirlyGirl -- I'm going to have to try this broccoli slaw stuff! I'll look for it next time i'm shopping.

Vixsin - Congrats on staying strong and hitting your anniversary!

Mandy - Hope you are feeling better!

Matilda - Hi!

Artic Mama - what a beautiful baby! Welcome back :)

 to everyone I've missed. I read throughout the day but can't always respond. OK, I have to go. Can't be late for work again today! Have a great day everyone!!

Me -- I'm down 1.4 to 204.8!!! :woohoo: I'm so excited I can hardly contain myself  Thinking about it, my guess is part of that whoosh is the :joker: (ie, sodium) from Saturday's bar-food indulgence leaving (I'm down almost 3lbs from Sunday :o). But that number on the scale today was so unexpected, and I'm soooo excited about it!

DH and I had already planned a dinner to Applebee's this night - we have a lot of stuff to talk about and always have our best discussion out at dinner. So we had agreed that when he got below 250 and I was below 205.9, we'd go. Anyway, we'll be going tonight now so I expect an up tomorrow. But I will plan the day around dinner tonight :)

Calories for yesterday: 1440 + :coffee:
Weigh In: 143.2
No change :)

FutureThoughts How did it go at Applebee's? Did you see their meals that are under 550 calories? I love the Portabello Dijon Chicken meal. DH had the Island Shrimp and Rice meal the last time we were there. I like going to Applebee's because those meals make ordering easy for me. We won't talk about the sodium, though. ;) Although, I have never had a reaction from ordering those meals. :dunno:

Good morning!! Wow, I honestly can't keep up with you all!! I'm a busy girl over here still, working, trying to pack, running errands, trying to see friends and family before I go. My July stats were decent, I ended up losing 5.1 pounds (even after my huge TOM gain!). And my goal in my mind is 5-10 pounds a month, knowing that 5 is realistic in the summer. So August goal? 5 pounds since I'm on vacation for just over 2 weeks! Which would take me to 257.6!

And I'm off to work (running 5 minutes late!) Have a great day!

I am back down the .6 to 168.4 again. I am thinking that I may have to call my diabetes nurse and get my meds lowered or get off of them. I am getting some dangerously low numbers showing up at my morning fasting test, numbers in the 50s.

Rennie - I meant the regular bars, not the brownies. I don't like the peanut butter brownies very much either, though I do like the fudge ones. I do like the regular fiber one bars in peanut butter though, they are strongly peanut butter. I also want to get some of that powdered peanut butter that is so low cal and try mixing it in some plain greek yogurt. I have also discovered that if I use a low carb tortilla instead of bread I can make a PBJ (I use smucker's sugar free jelly) with much less peanut butter than a full 'serving' and still be satisfied. I am a peanut butter nut! Also, I forgot to answer you about lamb chops: I wrap mine in foil and cook them in the oven at 350 and they come out juicy and tender. I do the same thing with leg of lamb which is what we had for dinner last night with mint sauce made from the peppermint that is one of the few things that is actually growing well for us this year. Wow, that got long!

Vixsin - Your chicken broccoli slaw salad sounds super yummy. I may have to have that for lunch today. I like it with shrimp and a little bolthouse ranch dressing, OMG yumz!

Angie - Broccoli slaw is seriously versatile. I put it in stir fry too. Heaven! And you show that :joker: who the boss is!

LGW - I get mine in the produce section of my wal-mart or kroger.

Future - Congrats on the whoosh

Aimee - Congrats on your 5.1 for July.

Hello ladies!

I'm still here, reading, but not tracking my weight daily anymore. I've gone to daily weighing but weekly tracking... it's better for my sanity and I don't take the daily fluctuations so hard. I still read here every day though, I just love you ladies!!

I have a question for you, actually. Do any of you find that you eat more (or WANT to eat more) on the days you work out than on the days you don't? When I have a good workout, my calories are always 200-300 higher than on the days I don't; I'm just stinking hungry... it's a drag. Yesterday I got in a good workout, burned about 550 calories and ended up "eating back" about 300 of them. :( I tried really hard not to eat, but I was legitimately hungry and getting irritated with my kids because I was hungry. I figured it was better to eat and not yell at my kids all day rather than stay under my regular calorie limit for the day. :) Just wondering if this happens to any of you. (The hunger, not the yelling at the kids )

July 31 - 265.7
Goal for August 31 - 259

1: 267.9; 2: 267.9;

Things I learned (the hard way) yesterday:

1. A last minute change in plan required me to eat at Chik-fil-a for lunch yesterday - turns out, the medium cole slaw side at Chick-fil-a has 31g fat and 360 calories - more fat (22g) and almost as many calories (510) as the grilled chicken club sandwich I had with it - and, get this, more calories/fat than the small fries, and neck-and-neck with the medium fry. So much for the "healthy" choice. No sides at all next time for me.

2. Chik-fil-a has a really cool nutrition calculator, not just a hard-to-read chart, but actually one where choose what you ate and it adds it up for you, including condiments - just wish I had checked it out before heading to lunch!

3. I still managed to stay within calorie range and other nutritional targets, but yikes!

Good Morning Lovelies!!!! :grouphug:

So TOM's on his way out either today or tomorrow. :woohoo: :kickbutt: Get to steppin' TOM!!!!! :sumo:

Whoosh this morning down 1.2 to 186.6. :cheer3:

I am on plan today. Got everything logged into MFP. Thinking about supper tonight. I'm going for some baked chicken that I marinated in a new dressing. :crossed: that it'll be good. OH!!!!!! Speaking of salad dressings, my health conscious friends. Marie's Yogurt Dressings - I bought the ranch flavor at my walmart on a whim because I'm always looking for new things that are healthy and yummy. I had high hopes for this one because it was creamy ranch. I really wanted it to taste good. BOY DID IT EVER!!!!!!!!!!! You guys, it's like real, full fat ranch dressing. Only it's not as salty. It is so ridiculously good. I'm going back and buying another bottle today because my first one is almost gone. I've used it almost everyday since I got it. Here's a link to it: http://www.maries.com/product-detail.aspx?productID=61&catID=24&pcatID=1#nutrition-facts The best part of this for me is that it has only 70 calories per serving. The sodium isn't horrible, it's far better than other dressings I've had in my fridge. It tastes just like regular ranch dressing.

Forgot to tell you that I made lower cal pigs in a blanket this weekend. Maxwell LOVED them!! I used Jennie-O turkey hot dogs (70 cals ea). I used regular crescent rolls that I got at Price Rite (100 cals ea) but I cut each of the rolls in half. So I used half a hot dog and half a crescent, rolled them up and baked them. 85 calories each. I was so proud of myself. Maxwell gobbled them up like they were going out of style. I think I need to start writing down all of my creations so I can keep track of them. LOL

Rox: That's my lunch today! I have the slaw almost everyday now for lunch. I just love it so much more than regular salad. I think it's because of all the purple cabbage in it. LOL Powdered PB is the wave of the future my healthy friend!!! I LOVE mine in a french vanilla greek yogurt.  Here's where I got mine: http://www.lindasdietdelites.com/diet-foods-78/toppings-spreads-32/bell-plantation-pb2-powdered-peanut-butter-121.html I bought the regular PB and the choc & PB. I'm a fiend when it comes to PB too. This stuff really helps! I've also mixed both of them in either plain oatmeal or cinn oatmeal. BIG Yum! BIIIIG!!!!

Gale: Hi! Good to see you! YES! I am usually really hungry after my workouts as well. It depends on when I do them. If I know I am going to work out after work, I make sure to have a snack about an hour before and make sure it's substantial for carbs and protein. I have supper after my workout and it would be something like 6oz of chicken breast or baked fish with a whole wheat wrap and 2 or 3 servings of a veggie. That way, it would feel like I am eating alot during the meal because of all the veggies. By the end of the meal, I would get "tired of eating" and then later on in the night if I wanted a snack it would be a plain greek yogurt with 1 splenda for 100 cals and lots and lots of crystal light if I was still feeling snacky. I don't try to eat back calories I've worked off. My theory is to keep my calories at a number that is reasonable for me and to create my calorie deficit primarily through exercise. Hope that helps. :)

Kukkie: Congrats on your whoosh!!!

Angie: Great job on YOUR whoosh too!!!!

April 2011 - Lost 2.2 lbs
May 2011 - Lost 10 lbs
June 2011 - Lost 6.7 lbs
July 2011 - Lost 6.2 lbs
August 2011 goal - 249.7 (-10 lbs)!!

July 31: 259.7
1: 259.9 (+0.2)
2: 258.6 (-1.3) TOTAL LOST 1.1

Whew! Finally the scale is moving in the right direction again. I feel like a whiner but last week was rough on me emotionally. I'm proud though, I remained focused and stayed the course, but also took a much needed day off from the numbers and I did feel decidedly better having done so. Relieved it's a new month and yes, I'm still hearing that whistle this morning! ;)

That 40lbs lost mark has been taunting me for weeks now. I'm ready to take it down! :sumo:

Future -- woo hoo! Excellent loss this morning! So sweet that you and DH go out to eat so you can talk.

Amy -- YAY for realistic goals. Life happens and it's important we adjust to accomodate.

Angie -- Yahoo! Great loss!! Glad you stuck it to that lil' joker!

Kukkie -- Tuesday must bee whoosh day! Congrats Kukkie. ONEderland is flirting with you again!

Court -- Nice whoosh for you too. And WITH TOM in town no less. Yeehaw!!

LGW -- GREAT attitude!

Roxy -- YES! Please talk to your doctor right away...those are VERY dangerous numbers! Great job getting rid of the pesky .6 too!

Gale -- I am definitely more hungry on workout days which means I feel ravenous almost everyday. I just try to eat a solid protein/fiber meal when I get to work and that tends to do the trick. I avoid eating my exercise calories whenever possible.

Jen -- Great lesson learned. I tell ya, that's one of the reasons I'm grateful for my smart phone. It's made a huge difference in being able to make healthy decisions on the go. I can find restaurants near, view their menus and nutritional facts and make decisions that will work for me with no stress. Sounds like you did the best you could and were rewarded with maintaining. YAY YOU!!

Vixsin -- So long TOMmy boy! Thanks for inside tip on the dressing. I'm a ranch freak and full "real" ranch, along with real mayonnaise, are two things I REFUSE to give up. Those pigs in a blanket sound great and I am definitely going to make some of those up. Have you tried the Hebrew National 97% Fat Free Beef Franks? I personally think they taste WAY better than turkey dogs and these are only 40 calories per dog! (they do have 140mg more of sodium though)

Ona -- You do sound quite tired my friend. The tone of your posts scream exhaustion. Take it easy okay?

Wyllowbelle --

i can exercise again ya'll!! :D

okay, i'm limited to things like biking where i don't put my weight on my ankle, but hey... it's better than "keep your booty flat and don't MOVE" :D

so i got this guy, for 26 bucks (after tax) at walmart:

Good Afternoon Everyone

LOL Jami that's funny you shot the delicious food  and Thanks again for the having faith in me  :woohoo: 1.1lb whoosh, good for you :) Glad you remained focused and you're still here  Thanks Jami on the thread name change, but when I signed on I looked and said OK where did they go, LOL. A little loopy this afternoon. :dizzy:

Hi Wyllowbelle :welcome:

:woohoo: Cutie 2.8lb whoosh, good for you :high: and good to see you :)

Thanks Future for the encouraging words I truly appreciate it
:woohoo: 1.4lb whoosh good for you :high: Eat like if you can at Applebee's so that you can still see good numbers in the morning

H Diana, hope you're having a great day :)

Aimee I think that was a pretty good loss for the month, way to go :high: and you were with in your range :). When do you leave?

:woohoo: Angie 1.8lb whoosh good for you, the :joker: didn't get the last laugh :) Do you have specific times that you drink the lemon water?

:woohoo: Kukkie 2.7lb whoosh good for you. August is starting out great :high:

Hi LGW

Roxy, LOL and the only one that I like in the regular bars are the peanut butter flavor, but I've only tried the pb flavor and the chocolate chip one and I didn't like that one.The PB2 peanut butter is good, not that sweet though but it is good and it's not easy to make really creamy like I would prefer but it's good. For my pb&j sandwiches I use:
Bestlife - Flatout Flatbread 100% Stone Ground Whole Wheat Light Original, 90 calories
Jif Peanut Butter - Natural Creamy- Low Sodium, 1 tbsp 95 calories
Welch's - Concord Grape Jam, 1/2 tsbp 25 calories (210 calories total)
Thanks for the tip on the lamb I will make sure to do that and let you know if I can chew them. LOL  thank goodness my husband is a chicken fanatic or he wouldn't have married me :D Please add to Mandy's thread all of these delicious healthy recipes. Thank you in advance ;)

Gale I'll have to pay attention, I just seem to be eating more period. I do know that when I work out in the morning it does seem pointless some days because my calories are crazy. But last year I had all of my meals and then walked 3 miles in the evening and did very well. I'd eat a cup of grapes, shower and pass out :D. Since it's too hot to go outside I'm using my treadmill and if I don't do it early I definitely won't do three miles and less than that doesn't seem like enough, sorry this is so long :D

ilbnej thanks for the heads up on Chikfila's food :)

:woohoo: Vixsin 1.2lb whoosh, good for you, and with TOM still lingering :high: I tried Greek yogurt but it was to bitter, glad to know I can add Splenda thanks Vixsin :)

Thanks Ona I'm glad you're gonna take a rest, it's not like you do it every day

Hi Matilda feel better

eclipse could it be the :joker:??? It'll be gone soon

Mandy :yay: to exercise :high: good job on the .2 down :)

Hi Trish, stick around and weigh in when you can we won't mind

Hi Allison

Ok my weigh in this morning was good down .8 to 176.6. I have been cleaning since 8:30 this morning, what I thought wouldn't take long turned into an all day thing. I stopped at 3:16 because I was starving. Angie I ate 2 servings of frosted flakes with one cup of 2% and I am good. I will drink a cup of V8 low sodium before I leave and maybe have a yogurt. It's time for our Countywide Spiritual Surge so after this it's shower get dressed and eat on the run. Oh I wanted to throw this out to you ... at 360 minutes of light cleaning MFP says I burned 1207calories which I think is crazy, even though I moved/pulled out furniture, vacuumed, every where , dusted, mopped, lots of up and down and hands and knees, I am really pooped and I usher for the next 3 nights. It also said you burn 805 calories for 240 min so I took that it just seemed more realistic in a way. What do you all think? Have a great evening/night  gotta go :)

Matilda --

Jeri - Hope Rennie's right and it's just :joker: (that's our new smiley for sodium since it's such a joker)

Mandy -- That's a sweet lil' machine you've got there and see on MFP that you've jumped right back on the horse...or bike. Thank goodness you finally got clearance - even if only partial clearance. I bet the scale reacts quickly!

Seven -- Awww man...we're gonna miss you! I'll still keep in touch on the various decade threads though.

Future -- Oh, I see now why you have to go out. Very cool that you've got someplace to stay and save up while you both attend school but I know you must be eager to get your own space again.

Allison -- Shoo TOM! Don't bother my friend Allison anymore! There...he should come and go quickly now. ;)

Rennie -- Ya on the .6! My husband has been eating greek yogurt religiously for breakfast. He HATED it at first but said he used to it now and actually likes it. I also read on hungry girl that she suggests had a bit of your favorite Crystal Light does seem a bit high. But when I put that activity in for me at my weight - its says 1760! Holy smokes! I entered it on another website I use (http://www.healthstatus.com/calculate/cbc) and, at your weight, it said 1400! And at another website I use (http://www.acaloriecalculator.com/calories-burned-calculator/), at your weight it said 1204. So it seems accurate, probably just want to be sure you don't eat them...just in case.

Angie

Kukkie -- Awesome whoosh!

Diana -- Thanks!

LGW

Roxy -- Good job on the .6 today! I love low carb tortillas too..the ones I use are just 60 calories, so they don't take up all the room in my calorie budget that normal breads do.

Gale  Good to see you :)

ilbnej -- Good to see you as well, the calculator for Chick-fil-a sounds great. I do try to look up the calories for restaurants if I know in advance that I'm going, it's really hard to wing it. I would have thought the coldslaw was a better choice too.

Vixsin -- Good job on your whoosh today! I love yogurt dressing too...the brand I find here is called Boathouse, and i have the Thousand Island one...it's fantastic on a homemade burger (which I pretend is a big mac).

Ona -- You'll burn lots with all your running around anyway. Thanks, I do feel like I'm on a roll, it seems a little too good to be true some days. :dizzy:

Jami -- Congratulations on your 1.3 today...hey, it's only the 2nd of the month and your down a pound already!

Matilda -- Thank you :) Hope your day was good.

Jeri -- Sorry for your gain.

Mandy -- Congrats on your .2 -- the bike thingy looks cool :)

FutureThoughts -- HOpe you and DH had a nice chat.

Allison -- Sorry TOM is messing with you!

Rennie -- Thanks for the cute little woohoo guys today..here's one for you :woohoo: :) Congrats on your .8 today. I wonder if there is such a thing as Splenda Frosted Flakes???? lol. I think the house cleaning is a good workout, but I checked my Loseit app to give you a comparison and it gives a different number, I put in 340 min of house cleaning and it says 1100 calories. That's a lot of cleaning!

Cameron and I spent the day at the amusement park again. I just enjoyed rather than pacing this time. I'm proud of both of us for trying some rides we wouldn't do on previous visits -- I went on a spinny ride with him, he went on a little roller coaster with me. I did well for eating too...I planned on sharing a turkey leg (protein) with Cam, but they were out when we went to get one. I had chicken souvlaki instead, and it was pretty small. Other than that I only had a small soft serve vanilla ice cream. I'm still sitting at around 1100 calories for the day. We also walked quite a bit, I didn't keep track this time, but normally when we are there it's around 7-10 km. :) I hopped on the scale when we got home and I was still hovering just over 205 so I'm hoping for great things in the morning.

I'm afraid to talk about ONEderland, but here goes...I wanted to celebrate somehow when I get there, and I was thinking about either buying myself a special charm for my Pandora bracelet, or getting a fabulous new haircut/colour. What do you guys think? Here is the hairstyle I'm liking...I love this colour too, but I'm not sure how it will look on me.

Future: I have modified my favorite dishes at m favorite places to eat...just substitute the mashed potatoes for spinach, brocolli or asparagus and you will feel so much better :)

konfyoozed: fingers crossed...I had a bike like that years ago and it came with a CD simulator that had outdoor scenery - like you were actually riding on a path

Matilda: you can do it, I have vowed to NEVER see certain numbers again in order to make my weight loss effective this time around - the LAST time around :) --I am 217-218 and I refuse to see 220 EVER again

eclipse: hang in there...as long as its a downward trend overall....

Vixsin: great whoosh!

Hi all! I'm going to try my hardest to NOT fall asleep while I write this tonight - lol.

LGW - a measly .4 after the crazy shifts you have to pull is nothing! It's probably just your body holding onto water while you get sleep back to normal. Thanks for the eating out tip! I never think to substitute stuff like that!

Angie - We are going to push through the end of the 200's together! We CAN do it :sumo: I like the pandora charm as a reminder of how far you've come. The haircut/color seems drastic from the style in your pic -- I bet you will feel amazing afterwards! I wonder if it would be a big boost to continuing to the end of your goal, or a hindrance because you already feel so good? Does that make any sense? I don't think it came out right... :?: I guess to me, a new cut and color is a great makeover treat at goal, but could also be really motivating during the journey if a boost is needed. Whatever you decide, you have earned it and deserve it!

Roxy - I love PBJ on Wraps too! I actually really like grilling it in the frying pan - it makes the PB so wodnerfully gooey. LOL.

Hey Coondocks! Nice to see you!!! Glad you are hanging around - I understand it can become too much to post often. When does your class start?

Greek Yogurt: the plain is too bitter/sweet/something for me...but when I combine it with .5 cup blueberries and 1 cup kashi go lean, it's sooo much better. I eat that combo for lunch often.

Diana - hope your week is going well

I'm off to sleep. Not dozing yet but will be soon, no doubt! :cloud9: Applebees was GREAT! I switched what I was orderig based on the online menu i looked at before leaving.

Hi Everyone

Yesterday Magnum was doing fine, but last night he took a turn for the worse. I am sad to post that we decided to have Magnum put to sleep this evening. We are both so sad and hurting right now. I just hope we made the right decision and have avoided him having to suffer. {{Magnum}}

Angie -- Thanks for the reality check. This month is a success so far! You and Cameron are having ENTIRELY too much fun! And why not both rewards? ONEderland is a BIG deal! I absolutely LOVE the cut and the color in the picture!

LGW -- Thanks for the cheering. I can hear it all the way from where you are. Where abouts in CA are you anyway?

Blanche -- That could definitely be water weight. Was your sodium intake high in the last day or so? What about your water intake...too low?

Roxy/Vixsin -- I'm really going to have to try some of that powered PB wit the wraps! You guys made my mouth water today!

Diana -- I am SO sorry about Magnum and YES, you definitely made the right decision! Please take care of yourself!

Good Morning, Everyone! Have a great one and make the most of your day.

I got a call yesterday from the nurse at the allergists office. She said that the test results show that I am having an allergic reaction. DOH! It doesn't take a blood test to figure that one out. :dizzy: Anyways, she didn't have any specifics. Unfortunately, I think I intimidated her a little with my questions. Anyways, I scheduled an appointment to speak with the Dr. to find out the exact info from the tests. I also have a list of things I want to be skin tested for. I'm not sure if I mentioned this this from my gyno appointment last week. The gyno said that 70%-90% of people in my situation are never able to find out what they are allergic to. What she is specifically meaning is that people who develop an allergy out of the blue as an adult. She also said that the majority of the time, the allergy passes over time. She implied that allergies that are present as a child are different than my type of situation. :dunno: The Allergist and GP both mentioned the same thing. So, I am going for my next appointment. I will have all the skin tests that I want to have performed at that time. Then I am done with it.

Thank you so much for all the support about Magnum. :grouphug:

Diana - Sorry to hear about Magnum! Don't second guess yourself, just cherish your memories :) Allergies are hard hard hard, but I don't 100% agree with your dr's, my mom's friend went thru something similar and she figured it out (no help from dr's though), basically she had to stop eating almost everything and slowly add things back in to figure out where the allergy could be coming from.

Angie - my goodness woman - August is your month!! Congrats on the whoosh!!

Rennie - I leave Saturday morning at 5am, and I'm working every day until then, plus on Friday night I'm going out with some friends to see a Comedian. Burning the candle at both ends here!

And I'm 10 minutes late for work today! Have a wonderful day!

Diane - sorry to hear about Magnum. *hugs* As for the allergies, our bodies do change over time. Sometimes we lose allergies and sometimes we gain. It's a horrible thing!

Ona - yay for a new decade!!

Aimee- have a good day at work.. even if you are late!

As for me, I know it seems like I disappeared again, but for good reason. Found out that I am pregnant again. I've just been taking it easy, being healthy and hoping for the best, but I did put my weight loss efforts on hold for now.

Going back to my gestational diabetes diet from my first and hoping to break out even again too. For now, I just want to make it to the second trimester.

Morning :) I'm down .4 today to 205 on the nose. I'm pretty happy with that!

FutureThoughts -- Yes, I'm glad to be pushing through this part with you. When I see your weight it motivates me to stick to my plan and get there with you. Thanks for your thoughts on the rewards...I was thinking I might want to wait longer to get the hair makeover too. I think it will look better on me as I lose more weight in my face. It is a drastic change in colour, but I do like me as a brunette. What did you have at Applebees?

Jami -- Believe me, I was thinking of both, but I do have 'budget' restraints...lol. We are having a good time. Today is another "Yes Day", which I think I've told you guys about before. I am terrified of yes days, but in the end Cameron usually isn't very demanding. So far today he's just chosen to eat breakfast in the living room and to play his DS all day, no limits (ususally he's limited to 30 min per day).

Diana -- How frustrating to hear that you still might not get the details you want about your allergies. Congrats on your .8 today :) If you feel like it, I would love to hear about how Magnum joined your family and any of his puppy stories.

Aimee -- Have a great day at work! How are your weigh ins going?

Ona -- Congratulations on your 1.2!!! The 170's will be the next decade to fall victim to your unwavering perserverence!

LGW -- Ouch, sorry about that gain. Could it be TOM lurking nearby?

Vixsin-- Good job on your .6 today!

Shylah -- Congratulations on your pregnancy! I was wondering how you were doing, we don't see enough of you. :)

Don't have time for individual personals today. Good Luck, Everyone!

My MIL had some more tests waiting to see the results.

I got to the gym on Saturday. Did weights and cardio. I plan on going to the gym sometime today. Need to do better with the food plan. Going grocery shopping so plan on getting some healthier snacks and food. I still have some unpacking to do. I have my food scale but need to find calorie counting book. But plan on using online calorie counting if can't find my book.

Time for me to dive into the personals:

Vixsin - Thank you for the recommendation on the Marie's yogurt dressings - I love restaurant ranch made with buttermilk, but hate the store bought stuff made with oil - this sounds perfect (and lower cal to boot!)

JamieSue - I've been doing the dance with 40lbs lost also. I just can't seem to get there - hopefully this month!

Mandi - love your new "bike" - hopefully it will help keep you in the game and off that ankle until it is properly healed.

Love2B - Way to make your chores work for you - 200 cal per hour sounds about right for heavy duty cleaning - if you finish up at your house, you're welcome to come do mine - I won't even charge you a gym fee.

Angie - How exciting to plan your ONEderland prize! I say go for the new 'do - based on your avatar pic, it would look great on you. Very modern and young. Then again, I'm too chicken to change the cut or color of my hair. Just give me a straight classic bob that grows out each 3 months from chin to nearly shoulder length, please.

Diana - hugs, no words, just hugs. Don't second guess yourself - you made the decision you know in your heart was the best for Magnum - and I know that doesn't make it any easier. Again, hugs.

Also, sorry to hear about the allergy struggles, but glad they're finally getting to the bottom of it. I've been on and off shots since age 12 - if it grows, I'm allergic to it.

Vickie Lou -I only do online calorie counts (well, in addition to the stuff on the package or published online by the restaurant) - I think it is actually better than a book - you can crosscheck different sites information to get the closest count for whatever you actually ate. Thank goodness for the internet!

Wyllowbelle - Welcome! I'm just getting to know everyone on here as well.

Yesterday was a pretty good day - within target on everything. Hopefully the scale will start reflecting this....

April 2011 - Lost 2.2 lbs
May 2011 - Lost 10 lbs
June 2011 - Lost 6.7 lbs
July 2011 - Lost 6.2 lbs
August 2011 goal - 249.7 (-10 lbs)!!

July 31: 259.7
1: 259.9 (+0.2)
2: 258.6 (-1.3)
3: 257.3 (-1.3) TOTAL LOST 2.4

YAY! Hit a new low today! And...news flash...I've finally shed that grueling 4lbs I gained while camping over a week ago. I thought it was just :joker: but it kept hanging on and was really messing with my head. BUT, I stuck to my guns, stayed OP, and finally won the battle. And I'm oh so happy that I won't be raising my ticker this week! :woohoo:

I signed up for the Body Fit Challenge at my gym (California Family Fitness) this morning. It's basically an 8-week biggest loser type challenge. We all check in, get weighed and measured next Saturday the 13th. I'm SUPER excited and nervous. I'm excited to see what I'm capable of when pushed but I'm also looking forward to learning new techniques so I can keep my workouts interesting. :wl:

Diana -- Yea, I've heard that about allergies too. Would be great if they could tell you something helpful though - other than stating the obvious that is! LOL. And here's some more  'cause I think you could use as many as you can get right now. :D

OnaMi -- Yahoo! You kicked the 180's to the curb this morning! Isn't this a new low for you?!?! I'm so excited for you!!

LGW -- Oh ok. I'm near Sacramento.

Vixsin -- NICE! Whoosh granted :wizard: Expect it any day now! ;)

Shylah -- :congrat: Yes, weight loss is not very important right now but the good news is that you'll be able to put everything you've learned to good use so you stay happy and healthy for your new lil' munchkin!

Angie -- Yea, I was afraid of that...dang "budgets"! I think I'll have to look into one of those pandora bracelets. I've seen them on TV and liked the idea of the charms and it does actually sound like an amazing reward. YES days sounds pretty great! When's my yes day? LOL. Oh yea, and :bravo: for hitting 205 on the dot. ONEderland is SO freaking close!!!

Allison -- :encore: Nice loss this morning!!

Matilda -- NICE loss this morning! WTG!!

Jen -- :dancer: woo hoo! Looks like I'm finally shaking some lbs loose this month after a less than exciting ending in July. This movement, along with the Body Fit Challenge that starts next week, will hopefully continue to shake things up and get that scale MOVING!

Vickie, Wyllowbelle --

Now I am back up .4 to 168.8 (again). Listen here body, I am tired of this 168 business, I want it gone. And before you get any sneaky ideas, by gone, I mean I want 167, not 169 and I want it to stay gone! Got it?

I am still waiting for a call back about my glucose numbers. Last night I made sure to have a little carb snack before bed, but this morning I still got a 56 and I have a headache and am kinda shaky. I'm waiting for my breakfast carbs to kick in and fix it. We also have a sick kitty. He has constipation and we're working on figuring out why. The poor little guy has to be locked in the bathroom so that we will know when he finally goes. We have 2 others so it's impossible to tell which does what unless we lock him up or just sit and stare at the litter boxes 24/7. The two things combined have me seriously stressed, plus we are STILL waiting for the homestudy stuff and my period has been trying to start for 9 days, it's been like the first half of the first day for the entire time. It all adds up to not a happy Roxy!

Anyone who likes peanut butter - I got some of the PB2 yesterday. Last night I got myself a serving of Breyers carb smart vanilla. I warmed it for 10 seconds in the microwave to soften it. I mixed 5 grams of PB2 in it and had peanut butter ice cream. It was fabulous! One of the best things I have ever eaten for under 100 calories.

Gale - I used to want to eat more when I exercise, but I made sure to have some food, including carb and protein, an hour or so beforehand and then I just told myself no. I was unhappy for about a week, but then my body adjusted.

ilbnej - I am sorry that you had such a shock with chik-fil-a. It's the dressing in the coleslaw. I am lucky that there is not a chik-fil-a very close to me because it would be a hard one for me to resist. McDs and such are easy for me, but I LOVE chik-fil-a.

Vixsin - My wal-mart doesn't have one called Marie's, but we have a very similar sounding yogurt based brand called Bolthouse that is fantastic. Comes in ranch (70 calories), blue cheese (50 calories), and blue cheese vinaigrette (60 calories).

Ona - The Body Gospe (http://www.beachbody.com/product/fitness_programs/dance/body-gospel.do)l has 8 different workouts at a total of 254 minutes and comes with the workout bands that will be needed to do it. I'm still thinking about it though. I guess that's a good reason to change the schedule. Yay for 5 days of zumba!

Mandy - :woohoo: exercise!

Future - Could you and hubby maybe have talks over a picnic in a park somewhere? You could pack healthy foods and it would be fun too. I am so going to try grilling my PBJ next time!

Rennie - I know from when I was wearing a bodybugg that house cleaning burns a heck of a lot of calories. I was seriously shocked. I was burning 11 and 12 per minute sometimes.

Angie - My tortillas are 80 calories, but they have an awesome 8g of fiber. That haircut is really cute, but one thing to consider is that if you have no bangs right now then switching to that might drive you insane.

Diana - I am so sorry for your loss and that you had to make such a hard decision. I don't know what your beliefs are, but I believe you will meet Magnum again one day and that he will let you know then that he is grateful to you for helping him to not suffer anymore. I will keep you and your DH in my thoughts and prayers.

Jami - Your challenge sounds fun. Good luck!

 Sorry to hear about your kitty! I can't believe you're still waiting for the homestudy stuff and wish there was some way I could speed up the process, because I still remember how excited you were when you first told us about this, it really stuck with me! As for the period, I know the feeling!!!!! Mine was supposed to show up 1.5 weeks ago, I have crazy coming and going PMS symptoms that I normally get before TOM, but no actual period yet. It's driving me bonkers!

Diana, I'm so sorry. Just remember that we're all here for you.

I'm down .4 of the 1.4 I was up yesterday. It's been so dang hot here the last few days (and no AC), and I'm sure that's contributing to me being up. I'm also completely brain farting over whether I took my blood pressure meds for the last couple of days - if I forgot, that's definitely what the gain is about.

Just a quick check-in. I'm sneaking on during work, but will hopefully make it back on tonight :D

Up 1lb even to 205.8 ... but I'm still seeing that magic 205 so I'm ok with it!

At Applebees last night I had the Grilled Shrimp and Island Rice. It was delicious! I really like the teriyaki chicken (or shrimp) over angel hair pasta too, but that has about 1000mg more sodium than the rice  Of course i made up for that by having a coke with dinner... coke, especially from a fountain, is a weakness (though i'm SOOO much better than i used to be!) I can't do the diet coke, the fake sugar taste gives me a headache :(

Okay, I decided to get the haircut on Friday, just because, but I won't do the colour right now. :) I'll think about the charm once I get to ONEderland...I'll have to go online browsing to see which one I want. Any recommendations are welcome.

Allison -- Congrats on your 1.6 whoosh today, that's the ticket! :carrot:

VickieLou -- Hope your MILs tests work out for the best. Have a great day. :)

Matilda -- Good job on your 1.8 today! :cb: Thanks about the hairstyle, I hope it looks good on me too.

Wyllowbelle -- Nice drop for you today, keep working it!

ilbnej -- Thanks! Good job on your loss today and on sticking to your plan. You're right, if you stick to it the scale will have to choice but to show it sooner or later.

Jami -- Yes! Great loss today, congrats on the new low :broc: Yes day is pretty fun...today is an easy one for me...he's exercising his option to do nothing. We even went to the drive thru with him in his pj's..lol and he's done nothing but play his DS and watch TV all day.

Roxy -- Grrr @ that .4 and at 168 -- I demand a whoosh for you! I don't think I'll mind those bangs, I have long bangs now, but they are normally pushed off my forehead. I'm pretty flexible with hair, I always figure if I don't like it, it will grow out or grow back. Sorry about the sick kitty, I hope things get moving for him soon.

 Diana I am truly sorry for you and DH's lost. And trust that you have done the right thing. He is in a better place and I'm sure he hung on for the two of you as long as he could. He wanted to keep his Mom and Dad happy and he did until the very end.

I haven't finished reading through yet so I pray today is going as well as possible for you and DH.

Thanks Jami and yeah the calorie burn is ridiculously high. If I ate half those calorie back I'd see a hike on the scale. And I even found where you can enter each cleaning thing that you did, I should be skinny  Jami 1.3lbs a day you're just gonna whoosh away from here, keep it going :high: :congrat: on the new low and joining the challenge at the gym, YOU ROCK!:high:

Thanks Angie there is low sugar 1/3 frosted flakes the kids didn't like them but I couldn't tell the difference. I think I may look for some really crunchy corn flakes. I like that frosted flakes don't get soggy when I do have them with milk but I prefer them dry. Haven't touched them today. I think I'm over them for a couple of days. I hope :crossed: On the cleaning 5 kids, pets, and a big tall kid there is always something to do. I was just telling my Aunt that I remember having to sweep when I was at her house during the summer like 10 times a day and I hated it. I think my family likes to see me clean. And the dust is crazy. This house is just shy of 4000 square feet so I have my work cut out for me. I don't always move furniture when I vacuum though I should then it won't take so long I'm sure. Sorry that got so long, but I could go on and on about the things no one sees in here but me. :) Angie go try on a wig, that color in that style. I love it. When I decided I wanted to grow my hair out that's what I did. I purchased a wig cap and tried on a few, found my style and now I'm waiting on the growth ;). I dye my hair periodically anyway when I see too much gray because it's only on the left side of my head for some crazy reason :) Angie good job on the .4 down :)

Thanks LGW, ... hey I wonder it I can find a DVD like that to look at while on the treadmill, that would be great :) that's right keep it positive, you've found your nitch, keep it going

Blanche gotta be water weight

Kukkie sorry again the gain but you know it's probably water, it'll be gone soon

Diana glad you heard from the allergist, but it sucks to not know what you are allergic to all the same. I hope the skin test tell you something. Good job on the .8 down :)

Whew Aimee you first day on vacation your gonna need some serious caffeine to stay up. Enjoy it though, I remember those days

Ona I am jumping for JOY here, 179 oh my goodness, YOU GO GIRL, I can't cheer for you enough. Didn't I tell you that you would catch me in a couple of weeks. See listen to me I KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT SOMETIMES, I am so proud of you Super Big

Vixsin good job on the .6 down :) I have some projects that I'd like to start but I do better when there is no one here but me :D (the selfish side of me can say I did it all by myself, hehehe)

Roxie, :congrat: just do take it easy  and follow that diet to the T. Have you been checking your sugar periodically in between. Are they gonna test you early, that's what they did to me. I'm so happy for you. Take care

Allison whoosh 1.6lbs Gone, good for you :)

Vicki, hope your MIL test go well. What type of phone do you have? You can calorie count on your phone pretty quickly and I know my fitness pal has a bar code scanner. I'm glad I was told about it, plus I have lot of friends on there from here. So I'm getting support every where when I need it (just have to use it)

Matilda good job on the 1.8 gone Whoosh :)

Wyllowbelle, good job on the .6 down :)

ilbnej good job on the 1.3 gone whoosh :) I didn't even know that cleaning counted until Vixsin mentioned it. I'm so glad I know it now though. I don't mind cleaning but I hate cleaning bathroom we have 4 and 3 boys that sometimes don't aim right :D oh and baseboards take forever, but I yeah I'd come help you out and we can burn some calories together  thanks on the no fee  I am broke :D

LOL Roxy, you tell that scale, and when it works come tell my scale  Sorry about the kitty , I hope those home study people get it together soon  Which PB2 did you buy? I have the regular and said I was gonna go get the chocolate but never did. Thanks for the link to the Body Gospel, I've never seem it before. Cleaning has a great calorie burn.

eclipse glad you're down .4 of the up, may I say something! ... please get you a dry erase board or something to make a tick on when you take your medicine, the heat can make you sick alone so please don't add to it (though I know not intentional). Thinking about you

Future

OK I'm down 1lb today to 175.6 and that was after 6 hours of sleep. Haven't been busy enough today so no calories burned unless I can hit the treadmill and shower before I leave.

Jami,2.4 lbs already :yay: you're doing excellent!!Challenge at the gym :carrot: that extra motivation is going to be awesome :carrot:Thank you.Yeah..it is a new low :D I'll still in the process of transitioning mentally(after seeing/reaching 180) so it's gonna take me awhile to get excited about this next phase.Maybe if i start to think about @174, I"ll weigh less than my sister :D
But i do have a couple of dresses(my sister gave me.(14 petite) cause she's always been smaller) that I've been trying on for months and I'm getting closer to zipping them all the way(Just around the bust is still hard to zip) and i was excited to buy some size 8 underwear(yesterday) and they fit perfectly and when i looked at myself naked in the mirror the other day i said.. wow..I'm shaping up nicely :o so I'm working on that mental shift, knowing the best is yet to come.

Angie, hope you're enjoying your time off.you're in the groove :high: can't wait to see the new do.:) thanks.

Hi Everyone!

Thank you so much for all of your kind words. I truly appreciate them. I really feel the love and support from everyone. :grouphug:

This has been a lot more difficult than we even thought it would be. Tonight we went to one of the islands to eat. I wanted to have a different routine tonight than what we normally have. We always get home quickly to let Magnum out. Anyways, we went to a new restaurant. The food was very expensive and there was limited healthier items for me. We decided to share a plate. I had some fried foods, but we shared everything. So I ate food that was not very good for me, in moderation.

I am happy to report that I have not turned to food for comfort. I was going to put off my workout, but decided against that. Not doing a workout won't fix anything.

Ona Congrats on the 1.2 pounds.

LGW Keep your focus. It will pay off. It could be a daily fluctuation.

Vixsin Congrats on the .6.

ShylahEQ Congrats! I am so happy for you. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Angie Congrats on the .4. I hope you post a picture of the new cut on you.

Allison Congrats on the 1.6 pounds!

Vickie I think I missed your post about your MIL. I hope everything is OK. Take care.

Matilda Great job on the 1.8 pounds.

Wyllowbelle Congrats on the .6.

Ilbnej Great job on the 1.3 pounds.

JamiSue Yes, the extra  was needed today. Thank you. Congrats on the 1.3 pounds.

Now I am back up .4 to 168.8 (again). Listen here body, I am tired of this 168 business, I want it gone. And before you get any sneaky ideas, by gone, I mean I want 167, not 169 and I want it to stay gone! Got it?

Fitgirlygirl  How many times have we all been through that? I am so glad you clarified that for your body. We know what happens. ;) How is your kitty doing?

Eclipse Great job on the .4.

Futurethoughts The Island Rice and Shrimp is a good meal to order. I also like the Grilled Dijon Portabello Chicken.

Rennie Hi  Congrats on the pound!

Kwigg Great job on the 1.4 pounds.

Hi all! Back for goodnight personals :) Hope everyone has a great night and an amazing tomorrow :goodvibes:

LGW -- I love this thread too! I really find myself thinking about everyone at different points during the day - as silly as it is, it helps me keep on track cause i don't want to let anyone down :o I've found I can do small amounts of Sprite Zero if I'm really trying to be good but desperately want soda. Ah, if only I liked Root Beer!

Shylah --!!! :preg: Congratulations! Take great care of yourself and that baby :bb: :)

Ona -- :cp: Congrats on such a great reactionto looking at yourself :) I would definitely call that and the new undies an NSV! (non-scale victory)

Jami -- oh man, I'm so jealous of your gym Challenge! That sounds like a great motivator!!

Roxy -- sorry you are having a stressful time. Come in here and vent as much as needed  Hoping kitty does better and can come out of the bathroom soon

kwigg -- Congrats on the 1.4! :cp:

Rennie -- Congrats on the 1! Whew - you got me tired just reading how much cleaning you have to do :lol3: It's impressive. I love MFP myfitnesspal.com too! I *KNOW* that site and app are a major element of why I'm being successful this time. That and this thread :)

Allison -- Nice job on the 1.6!! :cp:

VickieLou - hope everything turns out well with MILs tests. :goodvibes:

Angie -- what a smart compromise on your reward! I think that cut is going to be great ...and the dark brunette will be great come fall :) Funny thing is I do the same thing, I'll be dark auburn/red again soon! Glad YES day wen smoothly for you :)

Eclipse -- the small up is going down!

ANd I just started falling asleep again - lol. Hopefully I don't ranomly wake up before 4am! :cloud9: sorrty to every I misssed -- I'm still thinking of you throughout the day

Confession: I just watched a commercial for the "AbRocketTwister" and i want it! I'm such a sucker for marketing sometimes.

I noticed this week that there are a few people we haven't heard from in quite a long time...like JennieLovesKisses, OpheliaPheonix, BulletproofHeart, Leah (LNoel) and CocoMOnkey. I'm sure there are others I'm missing. If you are lurking out there, please check in and say hello.

Rennie -- I was just thinking, "Where's Rennie?" and there you are! The low sugar frosted flakes sound good. I actually coloured my hair today on my own, just a shade darker than it was. Congrats on your 1lb today!

Ona -- We're having a nice vacation. I'm itching to get out of the house. We were inside all day today as that's what Cam chose for his 'yes' day. Tomorrow we are going to the science centre and I'm really looking forward to being out of the house.

LGW -- I hope is TOM is coming that he comes and goes quickly for you and doesn't mess with your weight.

Diana -- I'm so glad to hear that you were not looking for comfort in food. I was worried about that for you. I worry about that for all of us when we have tragic or stressful events in our lives. I think when we are mourning we do more justice to the deceased by seeing our plan through than we would by letting their passing push us off our path. :goodvibes

Dear weightloss powers that be, I realize this may be a little selfish after the great week I've had, but I would still really like to see a nice loss on the scale tomorrow morning. The suspense of ONEderland is killing me and I'd like to get a bit (read: significantly) closer. Please and thank you.

I just got the book I ordered last week. "The New Rules of Lifting for Women: Lift like a man, look like a Goddess! Someone else was posting about about and it sounded interesting. It's supposed to rebuff all the myths about women, lifting, and muscles. I can't wait to read it!

Roxy -- I love seeing you tell that 168 where to shove it! And thanks for the words about the challenge. I'm really looking forward it! I really hope you hear back soon about your glucose numbers...I'm worried about how low those numbers are! I really hope your kitty gets better soon too.

Jeri -- Ditto Rennie. You better mark down when you take those pills. We don't want you doubling up or skipping to many days.

Future -- I'm really glad you enjoyed your dinner last night! It sounds YUMMY! And thanks, I'm pretty darn excited about the challenge too!

Angie -- Yay! I CAN'T wait to see the cut! I love that he wanted to go through the drive-thru in his PJ's! So freaking cute! I love your lil' prayer to the weightloss gods. Too funny!

Rennie -- Thanks for the congrats on the challenge. I'm super excited to start. Excited and VERY nervous!

Kwigg -- Nice loss today!! woo hoo!

Ona -- Wow! I thought that was a new low so congrats! Yea, I'm not even close to needing to work on that mental image yet but I can totally see how hard it will be. Luckily us newbies have all you experienced gals to learn from! ;)

LGW -- CalFit is CA based so I would imagine they do have one in your area. However, you're right. What you're doing is definitely working...maybe save the exercise for when you plateau so you can shake things up quickly and easily. Starbrite (another daily weigher) didn't start exercising until the end of her journey either.

Diana -- Your welcome and thanks! :D

hey ya'll!

i missed my weigh in this morning (well i weighed in, and freaked out about it being high, then realized i'd already had water and breakfast and decided to scrap that number)... and will probably have wonky weigh ins the rest of the week since i'm working 7-4 vs 2-11 like i typically work.

however, TOM is here, my tummy is finally behaving properly, and i'm exercising again, so i'm expecting a whoosh any day now!

there will be more of me around after friday.

*hugs* everyone!

Interesting...I thnik I am finally seeing the TOM weight gain everyone has been talking about...I am irregular and have not had my TOM since I started in May...and I was not doing the daily weight ins to monitor fluctuations...so it is really interesting to see these gains over the last few days...visible bloating as well....

I am so grateful for this site...this is normally the time where you see gains despite your best efforts and you're craving certain foods -- and you just give up and give in -- not this time...I shall wait it out

Good LATE Evening Everyone

I just got off the treadmill at 11:50. Needed to update MFP before shower and bed so I figured I'd catch up here so I don't have 3 pages of personals later today since it's now 12:10am ;)

treadmill
~ 30:24 minutes
~ 1.75 miles
~ 3.4-3.6 speed
~ 3.5 incline
~ 226 calories burned

Thanks Diana hope you're doing well this evening  thinking about you. Glad you got your workout in :) Oh and I bought more zucchini and squash today, cooked it up before my treadmill time. I had a turkey bacon and cheddar omelet this morning and barely got the last part down. I think the z/s/o omelet has spoiled me. I can't wait to make my (Diana omelet) :D

Thanks Angie I ate those frosted flakes after all, so guilt made me hit that treadmill, as well as fear. I don't want to go back up to the high 170's again and I certainly don't want to see 180 before bed again :) Angie I don't think I've seen Jennie since I've been back. Last year she and I were running neck and neck at one time and when she got down to 150 then 140 then 130 ... I said to myself bye bye Jennie  Then it was Susie and me, then Coondocks and me (thank goodness she's still around) but now I have Ona to leave me behind also :D Roxy already left me ... I like trying to keep up ;)

kwigg good job on the 1.4 gone :)

Thanks Ona it's a great thing to look in the mirror and think nice things about what you see. I'm so happy for you. And size 8 undies :yay: You :) Ona we did. Luther Barnes sang last night, brought back some old school of course and tonight we had Bishop Bruce Parham. What a blessing :)

LGW nope, I haven't heard of the Cardiac Theaters. I just googled it but didn't read through but not sure what I'm looking for :?: :) Glad you're gonna stick it out with us

Future I love this thread also, it's like my back bone for weight loss, keeps me straight for the most part. :D I like diet Dr. Pepper, Pepsi Max and Coke Zero but don't drink either often. Hubby brought me a 6 pack of Pepsi Max and it took me forever to drink them so he thought it was a waste. So I stick to water for the most part and might add a flavor pack that I have to split because they are too sweet :) weird I know ;) On the cleaning my Mom told me to just leave things as they are and they will get tired of looking at it like that I did try it once and it drove me nuts. She also said that the reason why they don't do anything right is because they know I won't ask again. But what I've learned is that if it's done wrong and I pull it all out and they have to do it again it helps, even if only for that moment :) but that's the joy of all my children :D. Goodness if you get up at 4am I see why you are so tired, get some rest

Aimee, Coondocks and Kukkie remember the  dance last year, too funny :)

Jami just get out there and show them what you're made of  don't be nervous. You'll show them all up because you have determination

Mandy :crossed: for that whoosh

Ok my little miss missy is still up and waiting for me to go upstairs. So guess I better skidatal ... not to mention I'm sure my husband is thinking where is she  NIGHT ALL time for a much needed shower ;)

Good morning ladies. It's a very early one for me today. The new job is a global role and many of my colleagues are hours ahead of me, so my wee hours when they're getting ready to go home is when we typically speak to each other if need be. Today is one of those mornings!

I did weigh in, but 2lbs up at 204.3, albeit 2 hours earlier than usual. I also realized that when I picked up my thyroid refill on the weekend I didn't put it where I usually keep it, so I have been taking it on an irregular schedule. This is probably contributing to the strange gains this week. I must remember to move it when I get home. I'm sure I'll see a difference when it's back on track. BBL for personals, I promise this time. I've been skimming through and so many great things are happening!

And I need to say a special good morning to Ms. Whooosh! Thanks for showing up today! :woohoo: I came in at 203.4 ... ohmygosh, i'm sooo close.

Angie - hope your prayer to the weight loss gods brought you a great whoosh today

Diane - You should be so proud of yourself, this is such a difficult time and you are being so strong. I forget which lady said it, but whoever said we honor the memory of the one who passed by remaining on plan and not turning to food for comfort, well I absolutely agree with that.

I gotta get ready for work -- make a great day for yourself everyone!

Diana - I had to put my 15 y.o pup down on Sunday. She was such a good girl. It is hard and it will take time.

Angie - I was going to get a hair cut when I hit the 160's, yesterday I just decided I was not going to wait any longer and went and got it. I am happy that I did, I really like how it looks.

Rennie - Seriously impressed with your late night treadmill session. It takes a lot of motivation to jump on the treadmill at the end of the day.
My house seems to always need cleaning too. The kids are into everything and even though they clean up, I usually need to go over it again.

I have had a stressful few days, I am not sleeping well, and have had a horrible TOM this time around which has kept me from jogging. I am going to catch up with the house today and then I am back to my regular jogging routine tomorow. On the bright side, I do have a great new hair cut and a great family.

Good Morning, Everyone! Have a great one!

I mentioned last night that I had some fried seafood. I left room in my calories in case I was off in my calculations. (my calories look low) Well, I remembered last night/this morning that I also had a couple fried oysters. I didn't include those in the calculations. So, my calories are not correct. Oh well. ;) It could be worse, right?

Calories for yesterday: 1390 + :coffee: + fried oysters + anything else I might have forgotten

Weigh In: 142.2

Down: .2

Confession: I just watched a commercial for the "AbRocketTwister" and i want it! I'm such a sucker for marketing sometimes.

FutureThoughts My favorite workout program is Turbo Fire. It's a Beach Body Infomercial program. Mind you, I have had this program for over a year and do it every day. When I see the infomercial come on, I will sit and watch it. I get all excited and giddy and want to buy it again. Congrats on the whoosh! :carrot:

Angie I hope you have a great weigh in this morning.

JamiSue I have heard of that book. As you read it, please share some tips/info.

Mandy Hi

LGW I really like daily tracking of my weight. Sometimes there are weigh ins that I don't like (like when I eat at the Soul Food restaurant or have an allergic reaction ). The good thing is when you remove those times, you can see trends and daily fluctuations. In fact, I credit the tracking to helping me with the sodium gain from TTOM. I used to gain 5-10 pounds during TTOM. Now it's only a couple pounds at most because I keep a close watch on things.

Love I'm glad you are enjoying the squash omelets. DH still thinks I'm crazy. I had to stop to get more zucchini last night. This morning will be a yellow squash omelet. :D Great job on the treadmill!

Kukkie Those thyroid meds make all the difference. Try to get back on track. How do you feel? When my meds are not correct, I feel awful.

Envelope Oh, I am so sorry about you losing your pup, too. It is very hard. We don't have any children, by choice, and Magnum was our baby. Hang in there.

They really do! I have been a bit fatigued the past few days, but I truly thought it was just because I wasn't getting solid sleep. My neck and shoulders had been very still over the weekend and so sleeping was very painful until yesterday. I finally went to my RMT and had her relieve some of the tension. It wasn't until I think Jeri mentioned her blood pressure medication that it really clicked for me. I wasn't feeling too awful because I was still kind of taking it, but on a very irregular schedule which made me wonder if I had taken it or not, you know? Anyway, I've set an alarm in my BB so that when I get home, I'll remember to move it back to where I keep my coffee. I usually take it as I'm setting the coffeemaker - can't live without that so it's been pretty foolproof

Diana how awesome that you had a loss even with that fried food!

envelope sorry you're not sleeping well, I know the feeling! Usually when I'm having a horrible TOM, as much as I don't want to, the exercise helps me feel better. I'd love to see your new hair cut if you decide to share.

FutureThoughts hooray for whooshes! You are almost there, stay strong!

Rennie look at you, late night treadmill! That's fabulous, happy that you were able to squeeze it in there. My house is half the size of yours, no kids and I still feel like I'm always cleaning :?: I know it drives you nuts, but I kind of agree with your mom about leaving it. My husband was sooo used to his mom picking up after him that it's become very frustrating for me to see him leave things around thinking it'll get picked up. And not because he expects me to clean up after him, but he's just so used to it. MIL always enjoyed doing things for her kids to, but she didn't encourage them to do it themselves, which drives me bonkers now :dunno:

LGW we're happy to have you here and glad you're going to wait it out. It makes a difference! Cardiac theatres sounds cool :)

Mandy hey girlie! Why are you working a different shift this week? How's that ankle treating you?

JamiSue I started NROLW last year, but broke off when I moved and just haven't got back on it yet. But man oh man was I sore after the workouts! I loved it! I've been thinking about getting back on it, maybe we start it together and push each other when you've read through the book?

Ona you're in the 170s girl! Hot damn, rock it out :cheer2: What an amazing feeling to look in the mirror and reflect on how far you've come! Size 8 underwear, you go girl :high:

kwigg nice whoosh!

Angie I'm excited to see your new do! Where do you get it done?

Roxy I had nooo idea that Breyers made a carb smart ice cream! I'll have to look for it next time I go grocery shopping. What is PB2?

Matilda nice loss for you yesterday! You go girl :carrot:

VickieLou good luck with MIL's tests

Allison great whoosh for you!

Shylah congratulations hun! Exciting times ahead, good luck with breaking even  Honestly though, don't even worry about the weight loss at this point. Enjoy your pregnancy!

 Vixsin yay for TOM being gone! Cleaning is such an uber workout.

Aimee are you counting down the hours yet? Make sure that bf of yours drives so that you can catch up on your zzz's from all these work hours leading up to your vacation!

Where is Coondocks this month?

 Wyllowbelle and ilbnej and anyone else I may have missed

8/1 - no WI
8/2 - 218.2 (+0.4)
8/3 - 219.6 (+1.4)
8/4 - 220.2 (+0.6)...I see...never realized how much water retention is involved with TOM...I'm actually finding this quite interesting as opposed to discouraging...let's see how far this is going to go...I am going to just stay on plan and make sure this is all water weight...again....I shall wait this out....however, I am a little upset that this 220 is in my life again :(
8/5 - No WI - will be post-28h :)

OK....time to get going....going in for another 28h...I have B/L - something for dinner in case the cafe fails me...I do not leave until after breakfast tomorrow, so no WI for me tomorrow...weekend off...plan to do some leisurely walking....or rest...we'll see....

Have a great day everyone :)

Ok..I'm down 1 lb to 178.6 :yikes: guess i was more tired than i thought. And the thing about it is, i still feel like i could use some more rest :D had a good jog this morning and going to Spin @ 11am.When i wanted to drop weight rapidly i didn't.Now that, what the scale says isn't my top priority..I've lost in 2 days :dunno:better just go with it and leave it alone.I'm thankful though.Oooh..I know what it is..the scale wants me to pay it some attention, get all excited about it again.I might :D

Thank you everyone! I loved being pregnant the first time around, I hope the second time is just as fun. :)

LGW - what do you do that requires such a long shift? dear lord, I'd die!

Lin - glad to hear you had a great time with your company.

Kukkie - i had the hardest time remembering my thyroid meds too. the timer is a good idea, maybe set one every day ;)

envelope - *hugs* hope TOM lets up soon. will we be seeing pics of this new hair cut?!

Future - nice whoosh!!

Rennie - treadmill at almost midnight? crazy woman, but good job! I'd fall asleep and get thrown off lol

Diana - I'm drooling about fried oysters now. lol

Ona - looks like you have the 170's under your control now. Love your attitude in regards to the mirrors. you ARE shaping up nicely!

Angie - you are so close to onederland! getting the hair cut early is a-ok, you deserve the treat. pics? ;)

I'm down a pound to 167.8. So ok body, I'm tired of 167 already, I want 166. It worked last time, right? I still haven't heard back from the nurse about my numbers yet, but they were better this morning, 71. The cat is doing better too, though we still don't know what is actually wrong. :crossed:
for it to not be anything serious.

Kukkie - Thanks. I think I am going to put in another call today to see what is taking so long with the social worker. PB2 is powdered peanut butter that is only 50 calories per serving. I tried mixing it with water as the instructions say and didn't like that because the texture was funny, but I do like it mixed in other things.

Eclipse - Maybe you should set yourself a daily alarm? Blood pressure meds are not something you want to be forgetting, especially not when you are stressed out by heat and no AC.

Angie - That was pretty much my response when I chopped off over 13 inches and everyone in the salon was gasping and going "oh my god". It's just hair. If you are used to bangs then I think it's great and wanna see pics when it's done.

Ona - Oh my goodness, I somehow missed the 179 post until I saw Rennie mention it. Wow! Congrats! And now 178!!!! :carrot::carrot::carrot: Have you told your mother? I am going to try the PB2 in one of my chocolate protein shakes to go after a reeses flavor and I might get some chocolate carb smart ice cream to put it in too. Resses is one junk food that I still miss.

Roxie - I somehow missed yours too. Big :congrat:. Even though you aren't in a weight loss mode right now, please do pop in sometimes to let us know how you and the baby are doing.

Rennie - I got the regular PB2. I was going to get both, but the store where I was didn't have the chocolate so I will have to keep looking or order it online.

Diana - Timmy (the kitty) is doing better today. We still don't know what is causing his problems though. DH took his 'sample' to the vet for testing this morning, so hopefully we'll hear from them today.

Future - I tried one of those Ab Rocket things at a yard sale once. I didn't feel much in my abs, but it felt nice on my back, lol. Yay whoosh!

Jami - I am in the middle of New Rules too. Haven't gotten far enough in to really tell you much about it yet, but it hasn't ticked me off yet the way a lot of those type of books do.

Mandy - Your freak out before you remembered you'd had breakfast made me :). Sorry about the out of the norm work shift.

LGW - TOM is an annoying bugger. Hang in there!

Envelope - I'm sorry about your pup.

May 2011 - Lost 10 lbs
June 2011 - Lost 6.7 lbs
July 2011 - Lost 6.2 lbs
August 2011 goal - 249.7 (-10 lbs)!!

July 31: 259.7
1: 259.9 (+0.2)
2: 258.6 (-1.3)
3: 257.3 (-1.3)
4: 257.7 (0.4) TOTAL LOST 2.0

Well, nothing exciting to report today. Had a little bump today, not sure why, but it's tiny so I'm over it. I had a few free minutes last night and read the introduction and a few of the new rules and LOVE it so far. I'll definitely share anything I learn with you all here.

I did forget to mention that last night that I not only tried the broccoli slaw for the first time but I also tried the Bolthouse yougurt dressings Vixin (i think) recommended. I tried the Ranch and Honey Mustard and both were DELICIOUS! I had those dressings with chicken and broccoli slaw on Flatout Bread. Ended up being a 338 calories dinner (with 1/2 the cals coming from the chicken) and was VERY fiiling! THANKS for the great suggestion!!

Mandy -- Good luck with your new schedule! You're so darn close to that 50lb mark. I can't wait to celebrate with you when you reach it!

LGW -- That's exactly what I love about this site and in particular, this thread. Hang in there and that TOM weight will fly back off in no time! What is it you do that requires such crazy work hours?

Rennie -- Thanks SO much for the vote of confidence regarding the challenge. I think I'll do just what you suggested....show those chumps up! ;) I know what you mean about the benefit of posting late at night. It makes it much easier to stay caught up in the morning when you don't have 3+ page to read! LOL!

Kukkie -- Have a great day today. And DON'T FORGET to move those pills woman! I would be happy to work the NROLW program with you when I'm done. My gym challenge starts up next Saturday so I probably won't add anything new to my routine until that's over around October 7th or 8th but I'll be ready to go after that.

Future -- Praise the whoosh gods! ONEderland is right around the corner!!

Envelope -- Um...so where's the before and after pic of your hair?!?! :) I hope TOM leaves you alone soon so you can get back into your routine!

Diana -- Well, whatever your doing (or not doing, like counting correctly) :D seems to be working!

OnaMi -- I think that's how everything works in life. As soon as we back off, we get it. I'm in the "want" phase right now and REALLY need to back off so I can get it too! ;) CONGRATS on another new low today!!

Vixsin -- Congrats on the loss and sorry you feel sluggish. You've been working HARD lately so I hope you get to a good resting point soon! Have a great day!

Roxy -- I am loving New Rules so far. Everything he's saying about there not being ANY difference between women's muscles and men's rings true with me. Our muscles are the same, so why would we lift differently? And the myth about bulking up. I guess I knew but didn't know, that it takes decades for builders to get those scary large muscles. The majority of us just aren't going to get there with "normal" lifiting workouts. I also like the important difference between muscle stamina (more reps, less weight) and muscle strength (more weight, less reps). How did I ever think my muscles would grow by simply doing more reps?!?! Oh yea, and I see your body listened to you by giving you 167 instead of 169. Hopefully it'll listen again and give you 166.

Allison -- Another great WI! Keep up the hard work. You are doing amazing!

Jen --

Good Morning

LGW thanks I would love to try something like that sounds like loads of fun. :) You have a great day also

Thanks Kukkie sorry about the early morning and the gain and the tension. I can't stand for things to be out of place. I actually put a bath cloth in the walk way of the kids bathroom about 4 feet from the door do you know they all walked over it. Not one picked it up. I left a dried leaf (from one of my indoor plants) in the foyer and they all walked around it. It's crazy, they are all lazy. If I don't point it out or do it, it will be overlooked. I tell the two oldest that if they continue to be like they are, I will never come to dinner at their homes :) I know that sounds mean but I don't do nasty and they know it.

Future good for you on the whoosh! :) How much of a whoosh is it? I've never seem that Ab rocket machine before. There is an ab machine that I want. It's red also, Walmart has it marked down I should go get it to help with this upper pouch :D. I had the ab-doer and gave it away, now I want it back :D

envelope I'm sorry to hear about your pup  Picture of the hair cut please :). I felt good after I was done. I forgot to mention that I used my little hand weights the last quarter but my son said they were only one pound each so I guess it didn't matter. They did seem heavier until I picked up the 3lb weights this morning, LOL. Trust me I know what you mean on the cleaning, no one cleans like you/we do. I just noticed I've gotta try to catch up to you too, 172. Oh my goodness you all are gonna make me do this huh :D  Sorry that you aren't sleeping well and TOM just sucks anyway, hope it's almost over  thank goodness for GREAT families :)

Thanks Diana I don't mind when I realize I forgot something and still have a lost, makes it all the better, good job on the .2 down :)

ilbnej

Lin good to see you. Hope all is well. Have you done the photo shoot for the gym yet?

Thanks Ona I am scured of you, 178 alright Diva, you are working this thing out. :high: Nope keep doing what you're doing if you give that scale an inch it will take a mile (remember that saying) ... beat it at it's own game :D and maybe you need a little extra rest. Lie down for a extra hour or so

Roxie, that made me smile and really laugh out loud :D (fall asleep and get thrown off) I had company my son was hooking up my DVD player so I could do Zumba down there and then he did a little weight lifting and my little one came down after her shower (wound up after church) so it's easy when I have company. I wanted to stop at 20 minutes but I promised that I would do 30 minutes of exercise a day and I am gonna keep my promise ;) Secret: I love being pregnant also, even with the gestational diabetes with the last 4 and the insulin shots with the last 2. But at 45 y.o. I don't want to do it again but I'll baby sit an infant in a heartbeat :D

Vixsin good job on the .4 down, hope you get a little more rest tomorrow also  enjoy your day :)

Roxy good job on the pound down :) hey if talking to the numbers on the scale works why not do talk to it some more :) Did the kitty poop yet? Was there anything abnormal in it? Maybe Timmy ate something that he wasn't supposed to. (OK got my answer, hope you find out soon)

The scale was great to me this morning down 1.2lbs to 174.4. I so want to be back in the 160 before we go to NC. I know I can do it but can I maintain it. I must stay focused I know.

Good day to everyone I missed and everyone that hasn't checked in.

Aw Mandy I was hoping to meet you when Angie and I come to VA Beach. Well maybe I can meet you and Diana when my daughter graduates from boot camp. :) good job on the 1.4 gone :high: Do keep that boot in your car when they clear you. Jeri -- Good job on the .2 and even better job remembering those meds!

Mandy -- Happy whoosh day for you!! Wow, I didn't realize you were moving to NC.

Rennie -- You're right! I don't feel happy this morning either. Not sure what's up with that. I am doing the best that I can and the weight WILL come off. I know this! I just need to "know" it, I guess. Besides, I am still down 2lbs for the month and that's perfectly acceptable weightloss. I also just read the thread Inspiring Article (http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/100-lb-club/239980-inspiring-article.html) and I'm so done with the BMWs! You'll have to read to see what I mean. ;) And thanks for not letting me get away with the grumpies BTW.

Wyllowbelle -- I guess we just have A LOT to talk about, huh. LOL. It does get busy but I actually find that if I check in during the morning and again late afternoon or evening, it doesn't get too far ahead of me. There's so much great information out there. How lucky are we that so much of it is all in ONE lil' thread? :D I see on the homepage that active threads get a special red envelope picture next to them...I think they need a stronger picture for this thread! ;)

Thanks Matilda :) great job on the 1.8 gone :) ... the :dust: is doing it's thing

I don't know why I can't remember that broccoli slaw when I go out. I need to keep a grocery list for this thread along with the recipe book :D

Allison great job on the 1.4lbs gone :) open two windows are starting typing when you can :) personals can be overwhelming for all of us. :)

Jami I'll check it out tomorrow probably, getting ready to drop two of the boys off for a sleep over but gotta stop at the store first. I don't like dropping my kids off without food and drink, well one I don't mind but two of them is a bit much I think. Jami do cheer up you are doing wonderfully. Unlike me you work outside of the home and are always on the move with family and work so give yourself a huge pat on the back that you do keep it ALL together Big  to ya'.

I'm gonna wish you all a good evening since I don't know if I'm gonna get that second wind tonight (hopefully I will) I loved my weigh in this morning ... but for now I'll say have a great one everybody

LGW - That TOM gain has really been interesting for me too! I'm finding that i'm learning a lot about my body by tracking daily. That 220 will be gone in no time! ;)

Rennie - THANK YOU for mentioning the two window thing for personals. As you could probably tell, I was struggling! I would get a message here or a message there out to a few people, but only what I could see on one page. This is so much easier! :carrot: yay! Your late night activity level is awesome! Congrats on the loss today!

Kukkie - Hi!! Sounds like a great plan for remembering to remember to take your meds. Hope you're feeling better soon!

FutureThoughts - Whoop Whoop for the Whoosh!! :D

Envelope - I'm sorry to hear about your loss. It does take time, but the memories we have with our babies are really there forever. Hope you had a great day today and are having a much deserved "stress free" evening!

Diana - Congrats on the .2! Who even cares about the calories when you can eat fried seafood and still come out down on the scale in the morning? Mmmm, seafood! :D

lin - Hi! Glad you enjoyed your company! You're right! This thread is hoppin'!

ilbnej

Ona - Way to go on the 1 lb loss! That is AWESOME! :carrot:

Shylah - Congrats on your pregnancy! I see what you mean about joining a great group! I am so happy I found this thread! The support and encouragement is incredible!

Vixsin - Congrats on the .4! Hope your projects go well tomorrow!

FitGirly - Congrats on the 1lb today! fingers crossed for tomorrow! Hope the kitty is well!

Jami - YOU are a machine! It's the 4th day of the month and you've lost 2 lbs! Your dinner from last night sounds yummy!!

Jeri - Whoop for the .2!!

I am back from vacation at my Dad's. Tomorrow is my interview to get into Graduate school.:fr: I am trying to stay zen and not make myself stressed and :dizzy:.

I was very mindful of my eating while out of town. It's 6 p.m. and I peeked at the scale. It said 248 and 247.8, so I think whatever it says in the morning, I will have reached my goal of returning from vacation in the 240's. But we won't really know until tomorrow.

July 2011: lost 10.4lbs

31: 250.8

03:OOT

I haven't had time to catch up on all of the thread, but I wanted to say . .

Diana I am so sorry for your loss! Know I am sending lots of hopeful healing thoughts your way!

Jami - Your dinner sounds  I hate to hear women afraid to touch the weights because they are going to get "bulky" or "masculine". We don't have the right hormone balance for that and even the guys take years to develop that kind of muscle. I just wanna shake them when I hear that.

Rennie - There's nothing that he can get to to eat that would hurt him. We still don't know.

Mandy - Well, since you requested it then, yay, different shift! DH's classmates will surely notice.

StarGetsFit - Good luck with the interview.

Goodnight my lovely, healthy threadmates!

Just read all the posts since this AM and I'm wondering what the heck I'm going to do at the end of the month when I go on vacation!

For quite a number of years (some of us for close to 30 years) a large group of friends and our families rent cottages on Lake Erie the week before Labor Day. They are only about 20 miles east of where we live, so we can come home and even work a day or 2 if necessary without much difficulty. We started this before any of our kids were in school. School starts that same week, but we'd run the kids in and pick them up after and still have a great time. We stayed with that week because it's the last rental week and since no one is "moving in" on Saturday for the next week, we get the 3 day Labor Day weekend as a bonus, so that balanced out taking the kids in to school. And if you give your spot up, it's difficult to get back in.

At any rate, we don't take computers. No TV's either! I don't have data on my cell phone, so I'm going to be in 3FC withdrawal while I'm there! I usually work a couple half days to keep my work from backing up too much since I come into town to water and pick what's ripe in the garden anyway. This year I think I'm going to try to hit an early classes at the gym those days, too. So I'll be able to check in a couple times, but will be totally lost! The month will change, too, so I'll have to "See you in September" as the old song goes.

No sense in rushing August (no pun intended on the thread title!) so I'll just enjoy the company now and miss everyone later.

Not that I'm looking to rush August or anything but I've already been thinking about September's thread title.

"Sept-TIMBER! Watch for falling pounds!" :D

Rennie -- Will do and THANKS! You are a great friend.

Kwigg -- Yay for losses! :carrot:

Mandy -- Oooooh ok. DUH! Uh yeah they'll notice a difference. Certainly going to be jealous of your hubby's HOT HOT HOT new wifey! ;)

Allison -- THANKS! Yea it was actually SUPER yummy, quick, AND easy! :D

Star -- Welcome back from vacation...we missed you! And good luck tomorrow! Sending my extra zen :goodvibes your way! And wow! LOSING while on vacation?!?! Simply amazing!

Roxy -- I totally agree about the "bulky" thing too! And I like what he said about the terms "toning, scuplting, and shaping" muscles being ridiculous. That our muscle shape is determined by genetics and you can only make them bigger or smaller. Totally LOVING this book!

Lin -- Awww...shucks! Thanks Lin. We're definitely going to miss you too. It sounds like a TON of fun though! So much time spent with the people care about most!

Hi everyone! I was up .4 today - I tried having a do-over, I went back to bed, waited 30 minutes and tried it again, but it was the same. Hmph. I know it's clearly sodium or water retention, but I was still put out. Enough to make some bad choices today...the calorie count was 1836 or so, but I'm not sure about my lunch, so it's a guesstimate. Let's just say there ws both pizza and fries involved. Bad bad choices. Okay, so I need to suck it up now. I expect I'll have a gain in the morning, which I hate, but hey, that's the way it goes. I can eat clean for the rest of the weekend.

I took Cameron and my nephew to the Science Centre (pizza at lunch) today and then went to a friend's place for dinner tonight (that's where the fries came in). Just got home a short while ago.

Rennie -- It's being left behind before that keeps me motivated this time. I was on this site in 2007 and left after losing 30lbs or so, when I came back in 2010 there was a girl who started shortly after me and she had lost 140lbs while I was doing all the things that brought me back here heavier than ever. I think you just need to plan to have some frosted flakes each day, there are a lot worse things you could eat. Congrats on your 1.4 today!

Kukkie -- Your note about your meds made me remember to take mine..lol. thanks! Hope you've moved yours to a more familiar place. :) I get my hair cut at BCC, lower level, it's called En Vogue...I recommend Joe :)

FutureThoughts -- Yay! Congrats on your whoosh. Nope, no whoosh for me today, and I think I've messed up for tomorrow also...ugh. Don't you hate looking back with regret on a decision? It's all so clear from that perspective!

Envelope -- I'm so sorry to hear about the passing of your puppy too :( No wonder your life is stressful right now (that would be enough on it's own). Hope you find some peace this weekend. The new haircut sounds like a great idea, hope you will share some pics.

Diana -- I like the way you calculate calories! I've done that too sometimes...in the midst of patting myself on the back for being in a certain range I'll remember one more thing I ate that tips that balance...darnit. I blew it today, no question. Sticking close to home tomorrow and I'll be preparing all my own meals so I hope to make up some ground.

Shylah -- I will post pics post-hair cut (assuming I like it, lol!)

Jami -- I buy the Bolthouse brand of yogurt dressing! Yum  Love the thread name you suggested for September!

Lin -- Your vacation without technology sounds awesome!

Okay, I'm going to bed, going to get up and do better tomorrow than I did today!

Good LATE Evening Everyone

I hit that treadmill again tonight ... you all made me feel really good about myself ... thank you

treadmill
~ 31:17 minutes
~ 1.75 miles
~ 3.4-4.5 speed (the faster speed is only for a moment just to see if I can do it)
~ 3.5 incline
~ 231 calories burned TOTAL calories for the day a little low 1075 gotta work on that.

Kiki ouch, sorry about the blisters  way to go on the 1.4lbs gone :)

Jami that is a great article thanks for the link. I book marked it so I can print out the no excuses part (take away parts) for my workout area :D Jami thanks I feel the same way about you

kwigg good job on the .4 down :)

Mandy I'm sure they will notice a difference

Thanks Allison :) Aimee suggested that to me a long time ago, because I kept losing everything I typed. Just be careful you don't refresh the wrong page. :D I do that sometimes and want to kick myself ;)

StarGetsFit welcome back. Best of luck with the interview :goodvibes I'm sure you have the 240's in the bag for sure. I love great numbers on the scale at night :D.

Roxy hope you find out soon. Kitty's are so inquisitive, my old roommate and I use to have two and one was a bullet she'd climb walls, stick her head in a glass, hiss at her own shadow she was a mess LOL. :)

Lin that sounds like a wonderful way to end your summer. One day I'll be able to do something like that :)

Thanks Angie you're gonna be proud of me, drum roll ... NO FF today :yay: didn't even think about them. Today I want salty but I didn't give in. I think TOM is coming I need to count up the days. AND tell myself no oyster crackers or kettle chips :D It makes me feel like an idiot when I come back and that someone or those people have made goal. You would think it would give me the drive to do better instead I sulk for a while then find someone else to keep up with. This time I really want to get down into the 160's before we go to NC. :) Angie take one before they start and after since you already did the color, it's different anyway, I wanna see please :)

Ona Pastor Darius Brooks was there tonight. He has preached at our church before and sang for us also. What a great surge :)

Ok all caught up, shower time and hopes for a great weigh in, NIGHT ALL ...

oh I'm supposed to go to a Zumba class with a lady I had told you all about earlier in the summer (she was supposed to be my new walking partner) we never got to walk because it's been so hot. I met her on freecycle. The class is at 9:30 I need to make sure it's not cancelled. I'll see you all tomorrow, pleasant dreams

Good Morning and TGIF!

I am hoping to sleep in and get caught up on my sleep this weekend. I am up an hour early this morning because I have some extra things to do today. Coffee IV anyone? :coffee:

Anyways, I am up on the scale this morning. I always eat a few of DH french fries or taste a little of his food while we are eating and he does the same with mine. Last night DH took a paper menu from the restaurant and it said that they fry in 100% peanut oil. So, here we are, I don't know if I am allergic to peanuts. I didn't even think about the fried seafood from the other night. I don't know what they fry in. At this point I am just going to see what happens. It will be interesting to see if I have a reaction.

On another note, DH mentioned about going to an Italian restaurant that we haven't been to in about a year. I was planning on having a scheduled high calorie day. So, if we do go to this restaurant and I am in the process of having an allergic reaction, things will be getting pretty ugly.

Calories for yesterday: 1440 + :coffee2:

Weigh In: 143.2

Up: 1 pound

I am up 2 pounds to 169.8 and feeling really cranky and frustrated about it. Right now I feel like it is too hard and I just wanna skip the gym, get some doughnuts, go back to bed, call for pizza later, maybe have some fried pies. I'm not going to do any of that, of course, but I want to. I know that it is just stupid PCOS and stupid TOM. I'm also going to put my stats and activity levels through some more calorie calculators because I'm maybe not eating enough. The new rules for lifting book has me thinking.

Lin - Your vacation sounds awesome! I'm not sure I'd be going to the gym, I'd look for things that could be done there for exercise, hiking and such. I suppose you could do both, that'd be even better.

Jami - So far I am loving it too. Admittedly I'm also liking him saying I need to eat more, lol, though that's a scary thing to consider actually doing.

Angie - I'm sorry about your yesterday, though it sounds like you at least had fun with the boys. There's always a silver lining.

Rennie - One of our others is insane like that and will literally climb walls, startle herself if she walks by her reflection, suddenly freak out and cry for no reason we can see, but this guy is just relaxed and lazy. It would take too much work for him to get into anything he shouldn't, lol. He seems to be doing better though. The vet found nothing unusual when they ran tests on his sample.

Diana - I'm sorry about the unexpected peanut oil. I hope you don't have a reaction. You might not, allergies are funny. When I was a kid I had a friend who was allergic to chocolate (horrible, right?). She could drink chocolate milk though and only have a tiny reaction. You're still under your maintenance range, so the Italian shouldn't make things get too ugly.

Up .2 to 178.8 hum..this is the second time hearing about drinking chocolate milk after exercising.Just heard Good Morning America say something about drinking some after exercising,to help speed up your metabolism.:dunno:didn't heard it all.

Had a different instructor for Spinning yesterday,push-ups on a bicycle :dizzy: Jogged this morning, off to Zumba and will stay for Yoga :dizzy:They got rid of the Pilate's class :( but the trainer said that yoga is very similar, that I've trusted him on everything else, trust him on this one too :D

Roxy, you've been burning it up at the gym, PX90ing hard and maybe TTOM has something to do w/it.I'm sure once you get some good rest you'll drop that weight and more :hug:you know you've been doing great.just hang in there and take a nap :D yeah..you're doing so much,if we don't eat more the body will just hold onto weight.I found that out the hard way..stalling for a whole month before accepting i had too :o But you've been losing steady for the past couple of day so.IDK

Thanks for yesterday  Mother isn't excited for me any more:D whenever i tell her I've lost something now,her next question is "when are you going to stop".:) She thinks everything i eat nasty  and says, "how many miles did you jog today,50?"..

So excited about August! Started south beach on Monday because I wanted to start cooking at home. I have eaten so well this week! Has given me more energy and I am actually starting to look forward to cooking delicious healthy food. I never realized how addicted to sugar and carbs I was until I cut it out. Such an eye opener:)

8-1: 255.0 TOM Day 1
8-2: 252.2 TOM Day 2
8-3: 250.8 TOM Day 3
8-4: 250.2 TOM Day 4

I can't remember the last time I LOST during TOM!

I just realized this month is my 1 year wedding anniversary:)

Morning all! I'm facing the music big time today...1.6 gain to 207 -- ugh. That was like a sharp punch in the stomach this morning. I know it's sodium, but I'm seriously disappointed in myself. I'm going to hang on to this ugly feeling and try to recall it next time I'm faced with similar decisions to make. Here's what I could have done better yesterday.. at lunch I could have ordered the grilled chicken sandwich (which had an actual chicken breast on it) and just tossed the bun, and had a side salad. At my friend's place we ordered out for chicken, and I had ordered chicken/veggies, but at the lst minute I lost my mind and shouted out 'no change it to fries'. Ugh. I may have had a sodium gain anyway, but I would have known I'd made the best choices.

Rennie -- Great job on your exercise yesterday! I feel the same way, when I see that other people made took the tougher road yesterday (like you, with your low cal + exercise day) I feel like heel for eating the fries.

Diana -- I hope there's no reaction to the fried stuff. Enjoy the Itallian restaurant...omg I love Chicken Parmigiana and caeser salad

Roxy -- I'm sorry about the 2lbs, your efforts don't deserve that!

Ona -- Happy to see you at 178 :) Chocolate milk..mmm. I found Pilates and Yoga fairly similar, but yoga had more of a zen vibe. I hope you like it. :)

I'm up another 0.9 to 205.2. My whoosh from earlier in the week is completely gone and I'm frustrated. I've been on plan all week and not pleased about the daily gains. On the plus side, I've moved my meds back to my coffee area and took it on time this morning. So hopefully, I'll see a difference soon! Although, in my rush to get out of the house this morning, I forgot my coffee on the counter.

Diana please share that coffee IV, I'm in desperate need!

Roxy I'm sharing your frustration, especially now that the doctor told me to rest my muscles for a few days, argh! But you are a rockstar and know what to do to get rid of it.

StargetsFit good luck at the interview!

Ona that 0.2 has nothing on you! You'll be rid of it soon!

Cutie congrats on your loss during TOM. When is your anniversary?

Angie  you can't change what happened yesterday, but definitely keep it in mind next time around. I know you're disappointed, but use that as motivation to work harder and turn it around. Don't let it add to more bad choices. Onederland is waiting for you!

Hi all,

Sorry, no time for personals today. DH's grandfather passed away this morning. We'll be leaving for the 7hour drive into northern New England once I'm done work, and staying there until after the funeral. So I'm scrambling to tie up ends and gather stuff I'll need to bring with me to work on for next week.

My WI this morning was wonky...there was no way it was right... up almost 3 full pounds to 206 :?: I'm writing it off as just wrong. Normally I get a "high" weight, and then the "low" weight on my wonky bathroom digital. I record the low one because it keeps me motivated better :D But both #'s are consistently spaced apart - as one drops so does the other. Anyway, today the high was 207.? (saw that yesterday) but the low was 206.... oh well.

Anyway, now i'll be away for a bit. I'll WI using the in'law's scale, but it will be different from my own, i'm sure of it. And I expect TTOM to make its appearance at any time. Just what I want when I'm driving in traffic for 8 hours :dizzy:

I'll try to check in while i'm gone. I'll miss you and hope everyone has a GREAT weekend! :crossed: for strength to stay seemingly close to on-plan :p

Good Morning Ladies ...

I went to the Zumba class the lady I was supposed to meet didn't show and then they cancelled the class because there weren't enough people so I'll try again tomorrow. I am gonna give my DVDs a true shot after I pick up the boys and maybe some Wii fit since my little man asked me to do it.

Diana Sorry about the pound up this morning  I love coffee but I'm finding now every time I drink it I'm exhausted. I was drinking the travel mug (2 cups) but I cup it down to 8ozs and I'm still tired. Guess I'll try the decaf my Mom left here. Goodness I hope you're not allergic to peanuts, they're in just about every thing or something is manufactured in the same thing they are manufactured/processed in. Hope it's not too bad if you do get a reaction and you can truly enjoy the Italian restaurant. Does is hurt or just puffiness?

Roxy first let me say, I wondered why the computer always underlined "donuts" now I know duh!!!! it's doughnuts, thanks for the spelling correction. I've been writing do-nuts for a long time  Glad are reevaluating things  You'll work it out you always do with a nice whoosh  Glad he (your kitty) is doing better. :) Cats are funny.

Ona .2 is water. I saw an ad on the computer once about chocolate milk but I just figured it was some special stuff that you had to buy to add to skim milk so didn't bother looking at it. I can drink a chocolate slim fast, but when I did drink chocolate milk I can only add a little chocolate the sweetness makes me want to puke :barf: See you later Workout Queen  Ona I remember last year Mother was asking the same question about when you are gonna stop. Hope it doesn't bother you much now  Add up how many miles you jog a week. You may just be at 50+ some :)

Cutie Happy Anniversary (early) :congrat: on one year! 5.6ibs GONE in 5 days, Great job :high:

Thanks Angie, I think we deserve the fries every now and then. I have done the same thing and switched to fries at the last minute but I have no excuse. The kids will definitely get fries so I can always have a few but greed (maybe not the right word but you know what I mean) makes me want my own. Fries like so many other things are my weakness. I wonder just how bad they would be without salt because we can tell them even in McDonald's no salt. I'm sorry about the gain  If you had the lemon water while eating them would that had made it better? I didn't mean to do the low calories. I know this week is easy for me because I am busy every evening, next week we will see how disciplined I can be with not much going on. This to shall pass Ms Angie

Kukkie, I'm glad you took your meds on time, and I had to laugh at the coffee being left behind but the one good thing is coffee can always be purchased some place, the kicker is we have to pay triple for that cheap cup we left behind :) Hope things get back to normal soon

ilbnej

Future my condolences to you and your family  The hike on the scale I think can also be stress I think. When I'm stressed I just feel heavier like bogged down and I see it on the scale, it'll be gone soon  Be safe, take care see you when you get back, if you don't get to check in

Has anyone heard from Coondocks?

Gonna do Zumba with my little Lady and then Wii Fit with my little Man. I wish I had a way to track my burn with this.

April 2011 - Lost 2.2 lbs
May 2011 - Lost 10 lbs
June 2011 - Lost 6.7 lbs
July 2011 - Lost 6.2 lbs
August 2011 goal - 249.7 (-10 lbs)!!

July 31: 259.7
1: 259.9 (+0.2)
2: 258.6 (-1.3)
3: 257.3 (-1.3)
4: 257.7 (+0.4)
5: 258.2 (+0.4) TOTAL LOST 1.6

Well...:?: I've been perfectly OP for weeks and for whatever reason, the loss is just slow these last two weeks. (I even made sure the Wii batteries were fully charged just in case. :halffull: ) I KNOW it's gonna start moving though. I'm working hard and eating right and the WEIGHT will start going down again. :D

Angie -- I'm having my broccoli slaw, chicken, and yogurt dressing on flatout bread for lunch today and am SO looking forward to it. I  mixing the Ranch and Honey Mustard dressings! And  for today. Lesson learned. :)

Rennie -- Sorry for the double whammy this morning! Definitely do some Wii fit with your lil' man. I always have a TON of fun playing on that with my kiddos. Do you have the Wii Fit Plus game? The Obstacle Course is one of my favorites! Good job hitting that treadmill last night. BTW - I learned today that not all elliptical machines are created equal. I tried a new machine this morning and it was significantly more tiring than the one I usually use. Only 10 minutes this morning! And no, I have no idea where Coondocks is? REALLY hope everything's okay!

Roxy -- I am SO with you dream day of skipping the gym, eating donuts, going back to bed, eating pizza, and then following that with some delectible dessert! LOL! I've been kind of frustrated these last two weeks myself going up and donw the same 1-2 lbs. Grrrr.. Oh well, no way I'm letting the scale win, I KNOW the weight will come off if I keep working my plan.

OnaMi -- Yea, I know they say to get that protein in after a workout and I actually know a few people that would do some kind of protein shake but have all switched to a simple glass of chocolate milk too. Maybe there's something to it.

Court -- Amazing job this week and all with TOM in town! Way to stick it to him!

Kukkie -- Good job taking your meds! Sorry about the scale. It's not my favorite thing right now either.

Future -- So sorry about DHs grandfather and super sorry the scale is messing with you this morning. Hopefully it has to do w/ TOM and will regulate itself soon! Good luck this weekend!

Jami - Sept-TIMBER! LOL Thanks for the laugh! I think it is a great name! Hang in there! Your Wii scale is just slow. It will soon catch on that the numbers are supposed to go in the downward direction!

Angie - It's ok to have pizza and french fries every now and then! I mean, this is a lifestyle change we are making, right? When I started my new plan, I know I definitely didn't tell myself "No more pizza ever!" Way to move forward!

Diana - During those early morning wake-ups (particularly the 4:00am wake ups) I would love to have a Coffee IV! Sometimes I just can't drink it fast enough! I've been coffee free for the past 2 weeks now...we will see if I can make it the full 21 days of the Clean Program! (I started clean Aug 1). Enjoy your Italian dinner. Fingers crossed there's no allergic reaction!

FitGirlyGirl - Good luck getting your stats figured out! I did the same thing about a week ago. I was gaining like a pound a day and couldnt figure it out! I was working out a lot and eating great! Turns out my calories were coming in way too low for my size. As soon as I upped the cals, the weight was coming off quickly!!

Ona - The thought of chocolate after working out makes me feel sick. However, I learned from Dr.Oz that there are certain times of day it's best to do certain activities when you're working out. He said the best time to workout is right after you weigh yourself when you wake up and when you're done working out, you should have breakfast with a good amount of protein. Maybe they are drinking the milk for protein?

Court -Hi! Way to go on the weightloss during your TOM! 6 lbs during the worst 5 days of the month is awesome!

Kukkie - Hang in there! I'm sure it is just water that is hanging around! It will be gone before you know it!

ilbnej

FutureThoughts - I am so sorry to hear about your loss! Take care of yourself and drive safe! Will be thinking about you!

Rennie - When I read "I went to the Zumba class" I got all excited! I just love Zumba! What a bummer! Hope you enjoy the DVDs! It's great that your kids exercise with you! Yay for the Wii!

Jeri - Way to go on the loss!! :carrot:

Mandy - WOOOOO!!! Congrats!! That is an awesome milestone!!

Kukkie -- Eek! A morning without your coffee? I hope you found another one. Sorry about your gain today.

Roxy -- I'm cursing like a sailor right now (at your scale), and I'll throw in a little fist shaking for good measure!

FutureThoughts -- I feel responsible for your gain; after all, we've been on each other's tails for a while now. I'm sorry to hear about the passing of your DH's grandfather. Don't worry too much about the weigh ins while you are gone, just make the best choices you can.

Rennie -- Thanks :) I think this busy week will be great to get you back on track and then you can carry it on to next week. It's been quite a while since I ate fries, but I think I'll make it another long while before I have them again.

Jami -- Your lunch sounds super yummy! Mine was great too...mine was a taco salad...lettuce, 3oz extra lean ground beef, 1 oz shredded cheese, 2 T salsa, 1 T low fat sour cream....it was heavenly. I know how frustrating it is to change nothing and then see the losses slow down. Stick with it though, your body is just working at a different speed than your brain. :)

Jeri -- Congrats on getting back down to 145!

Mandy -- :cp:Congratulations on your 50lb milestone!!!! :cp:

Allison -- I know, it's a long journey, and there will be french fries along the way...lol. I think it's just the timing that's bothering me...I"m so close to ONEderland, and I wish I'd kept that top of mind when I ate those! ;) I really have to try Zumba one of these days, like you so many people here love it...but I have no rhythm lol, not sure I could keep up. Congrats on your .4 today.

On to the haircut...I love it! Here are the before/after pics as requested by Rennie :D

05: 247.6

Yay! I think it would have been lower but for the Sweet Tomatoes last night. Right as I got home from my 5 hour drive the family was piling in the car, so I went with. I didn't do poorly compared to the past, but I probably could have done with out the piece of pizza bread and dark chocolate froyo.:^: I'm just not good with buffets yet.

But I need to get good, like now. After my interview today, I'm driving three hours to meet my sister and stepmom for a Johnny Lang concert and we're going to the casino's buffet! Part of me hopes I'm late and I miss the buffet!

And Sunday, I'm going to a buffet before seeing Les Miserables!!

And now I must start getting ready for the interview! Thank you for all of the luck and zen everyone! Hopefully, it will keep from getting really nervous and drooling on myself during the interview:drool:.

Done with 28h shift...I did not stray from my plan...no snacks...only my ice breakers when I needed a little boost....

No WI for me today....just getting home since yesterday 6am -- already had breakfast -- I refuse to entertain the scale today -- it's had all the laughs it's going to get :)

will be back for personals sometime this weekend....gotta catch up....

koonfoyzed: i love the what's cooking thread :carrot:

On my way to Olive Garden for a modified stuffed chicken marsala lunch...trust me....this delicious chicken with brocolli or asparagus instead of the mashed potatoes is WAAAAAAYYYY better than I'm thinking about eating right now...:)

Future my deepest sympathies to you and your family  I'm not a big fan of long drives when TOM is around either. I'll be thinking of you! Just try to stay as much on plan as you can.

Rennie looking back, it is pretty funny that I forgot the coffee, but I got a nice little snooze in on the train ;) I really do hope things get back to normal soon too, it's very frustrating! Sorry that the lady didn't show up and that the class was cancelled, just seems like it wasn't meant to be. But at least you have the kids to hang out with while you do Zumba/Wii now!

Jami "it's not my favourite thing right now either" <-- thanks, this made me laugh. I've been skeptical of trying yogurt dressing but you and Angie have me thinking I should try it.

Jeri glad the scale is moving in the right direction again!

Mandy yes! Congratulations on your 50 lbs gone forever!!!! :carrot:

allison hey girl, down is down! Thanks for your kind words. I'm toughing it out!

stargetsfit sending good vibes your way for the interview and the strength to make good choices at the buffet. I'm soo jealous that you're going to see Les Miserables! I missed it when it was here :( Enjoy!!!

LGW WTG staying on plan during your crazy 28 h shift! I still don't know how you do it, but all the power to you!

Angie I did find another one, pit stop at Starbucks in Brookfield Place in the PATH on my way to the office! I freaking love your hair. This was Joe? Did you take that picture to him? I may just go there next week!

Thanks Allison, for that information.Dr.oz is very interesting. great job on the .4 :cp:

Rennie, you had some workout buddies today huh? :D sorry about zumba.I was tracking jogging/walking miles,a time back but got tired of doing that :D I know I've walked to another sate by now :D coulda walked to your house  nah..it doesn't bother me.:) if i listened to her, I'd have nothing and wouldn't have done anything constructive with my life. She's still very overprotective and I'm grown. With me walking so early and crime bad,she worries. She's a good o' soul :) I like the word "surge" as opposed to Revival.:)

Great outlook and attitude Jami  Yeah I know I have been on machines that I could do (I'm saying with ease) but they didn't make me feel like I needed the muscles of a body builder to use them :D

When I went on MFP this afternoon, there was an ad for the Chocolate Milk diet. I checked it out they have vanilla also. Says they recommend you drink it 5 times a day and the container is about 17 serving for 19.99 so it would costly if you liked it and it worked. :D

eclipse good job on the 1.2lbs Gone :)

Congratulations Mandy on :cheer: 50lbs GONE :cheer: Way to Go :high:

Allison, she said they have more participation on Saturday so I'll get my butt up and go tomorrow :) The Zumba DVD kicked my butt all of that jumping around I have a sweat bib, (I know yucky) I also got on the treadmill. Ms Lady a drop is a drop  good job on the .4 down :)

Angie I wish I could say that about my frosted flakes. I haven't had any today either and hopefully wont. I did however have a measured cup of vegetable fried rice. I counted the calories as 370 and the sodium is 740. Not sure if it's right, I'd rather be higher than too low :) I had a few fries when we went to the bowling alley (thank goodness they were off the kids plates) They were like the fries I use to eat years ago, that you order at a diner, oh so good

ANGIE I LOVE THE HAIRCUT YOU LOOK RAVISHING JUST BEAUTIFUL. I hope it OK to say that you look younger. I really love it, the bangs suit you well

StarGetsFit, the last time I went to a buffet, I ate a ton of salad, with some grilled chicken, some cabbage that I know was saturated in butter, green beans and a ton of jello with whip cream :D You'll be fine at the interview  Great job on the 3.2lbs gone :high: Enjoy yourself this weekend

LGW ... I like that (it's had all the laughs it's gonna get) ;) I love Olive Garden so glad we don't one close :) Enjoy!

Thanks Kukkie, I did the Zumba but not the Wii. I am pooped I got on the treadmill right after. :) The thing I use to do with my coffee was sit it on top of the car and drive off ... and think to myself how stupid are you and how many times are you gonna do that, :lol3:

Gale yes it has ANGIE you look great  Hi Gale

Well, my scale may be up 2 pounds, but as you may have already seen in my NSV thread, I have conquered diabetes. Take that scale! I finally got a call back about the low numbers and I was told that I was already on the lowest dose of medication they make, so based on those numbers I don't need it anymore. :woohoo:

Now I am baking some homemade bagels, yum!

Future - I'm sorry about your DH's grandfather.

Rennie - That sucks that they cancelled class, but it's awesome that your son is requesting activity. Lots of people spell it donuts, I believe either one is accepted.

Jami - You and me both. No giving up! No way, no how!

Mandy - :woohoo:

Allison - I was planning to have my higher calorie day today anyhow. After that I am going to take them up 100 at a time and see how it goes.

Angie - I'm threatening yours with everything I've got! I LOVE the hair. You look younger and it brings out the gorgeousness of your haircolor more too I think.

StarGetsFit - :dust: for those buffets

LGW - Congrats on surviving another 28 hours!

Star -- Wow! I think you did great! GOOD LUCK today and have a GREAT time tonight!

LGW -- Way to show that scale who's boss! Enjoy your din din tonight...sounds yummy!

Kukkie -- :D Yes! Definitely try the dressing! I'm a dressing snob...no low cal crap for me. The yogurt dressing though...not only can I live with it...but I actually LIKE it too! What a bonus! ;)

I'm SOOO HAPPY for you Roxy, Wow what a wonderful NSV to celebrate, that is a total blessing in itself. You will not be defeated

Ok have a great evening ALL. No treadmill tonight because it's already done. Hoping for a great weigh in tomorrow.

Star -- Good job on your loss while you were out of town. How did your interview go today?

LGW -- Your dinner sounds delicious!

Kukkie -- Thanks! Yes, this was Joe, and I took him the picture I posted here. We agreed on a couple of modifications to make it easier for me to style on my own, but I just love it too. I feel so light! He works most days except Thursdays :)

Gale -- Thanks! I noticed my face is thinner too, but only when I took the picture, I guess day to day you just don't see these changes in yourself. It's left me a bit jowly, but that has happened before and after a while I sort of firmed up again...lol. I made your Cuban Chicken PIzza for dinner, it was a big hit...I LOVED it and will definitely make this again. I think it would also taste great just adding the toppings to a lettuce salad. Thanks for sharing that!

Ona -- Thank you :) Maybe you can try some Pilates online or a DVD? I like the one that Kukkie recommended to me.

Rennie -- I think your count for the rice sounds about right. I remember those fries you're talking about, you don't find those often now! Heck yeah, it's okay to say I look younger! Say it anytime you like :p , thank you for saying such nice stuff about my picture

Roxy -- Amazing NSV for you, what an important one too!!! I'm thrilled for you. Thank you about the pic/haircut :) I'm thinking up some new swear word combinations for the morning in case it's called for on the scale.

Jami -- Thanks!

Hi Everyone!

Well, I had my higher calorie day and I feel gross. I always feel like that after I eat carbs/sugar. It is good at the time, though. ;) My breakfast and lunch was my normal fare but I splurged for dinner. How bad will my weigh in be tomorrow? I'm thinking it's going to be really bad. I will deal with it though. I'm sure there will be a lot of water weight. I didn't think things out very well, though. I looked at the calendar and Wednesday is my hair appointment and I go to the Japanese restaurant. I am just going to have to be 100% on plan. Right back at it tomorrow.

Rennie I have different reactions. If I get constipated and hold onto water, you know how that feels. If it affects my lips, they get really red. They break out on the inside and outside. It feels like I kissed a hot iron. They get really dry and burn badly. It's all miserable. ;)

Mandy Congrats on the 50 pounds!

Angie I love the new hair cut on you! I missed your post about you wanting to change your hair color. Is that your natural color? If so, why would you want to change it? It looks great on you. On top of that, look at the color of your shirt with your hair color. Gorgeous!

Fitgirlygirl Congrats on conquering diabetes! Great job! :carrot: Very good news, indeed!

Angie
08-06-2011, 12:05 AM
Thanks Diana -- I actually changed my colour this week, so this is the new colour...it's just a bit darker than my last colour, but it's hard to tell in photos, and with the new cut I find it looks lighter. I hope I can do the upkeep on this...it will require daily straightening, I love it though, it will be worth the work. BTW, that shirt is actually my bathing suit...the only bathing suit shot you're likely to see of me on the internet!

I hope you don't see too much of a gain tomorrow and are able to stay in your range through Wednesday. I'm sure you'll do it, you know your go to foods well by now, and I think you found some good alternatives at the Japanese place too, right?

Diana3271
08-06-2011, 12:09 AM
Angie Well, I like your hair color and cut. They are both very flattering on you. Do you have any shirts the color of your swimsuit? That's a great color for you.

I think I will see a significant gain. I don't normally eat bread, pasta, and sweets at one sitting. That's a disaster for sure. Once I got into maintenance I started eating a regular meal at the Japanese restaurant. I will probably do so this Wednesday, too. I hope I don't go above my range. I'm almost thinking I will with water weight. We'll see. I'm back on plan tomorrow for sure.

It's funny, one of the reasons that I planned on having a higher calorie day was because I was starting to look a little thin in my face. I feel really good at about 143-144, but for some reason when I get below 143 I think the extra weight comes off my face and I look too thin. It's funny how this morning I had a gain, so I probably shouldn't have had the extra calorie day. Oh well. I'm back on plan. That's all that matters, I guess.

Jami I truly don't want to mess up your weekend. I know how I am with seeing foods that I may want, even when going through my recent foods list on MFP. So I won't do that to you. I'm hoping to plan stick to the plan below tomorrow.

One day at a time is what YOU ALL keep telling me ... I'm trying

Here is my plan ...

B- zucchini, squash & onion omelet, and a apple turnover nonfat yogurt
S - medium banana
L - turkey and Swiss on a whole wheat flatout wrap, w/ff mayo and lettuce and a unsweetened apple sauce
S - 4 ginger snaps with a 1/2c Breyers smooth & dreamy ff vanilla
D - grilled chicken thigh, cup of green beans and 1/2c potato salad

the sodium in the green beans is crazy. I really need to snap my own beans :D

calories so far 1347

I have a Zumba class at 9am and I plan to hit the treadmill at some point for 30 minutes. Hope I stick to this. I need to make the omelet tonight so it is ready before class in the a.m.

July 31 217.8

8/1 - no WI
8/2 - 218.2 (+0.4)
8/3 - 219.6 (+1.4)
8/4 - 220.2 (+0.6)
8/5 - no WI
of course I did a "sneak peak" -- this was after only having 1h sleep and after having breakfast -- it was 219.? -- at least it was <220 -- so maybe I'm on my way back down :)

I was really nervous about my schedule change; however, it has been 2 weeks and I have done quite well. I guess staying on plan has been my NSV (now that I know what NSV stands for...)

Have a great evening everyone. I plan on getting up early and going walking -- leisurely walking....

I was looking at everyone's recent and long term progress. It is just awesome to see how much individuals have loss and how motivated those that need to lose are. I hope everyone hangs in there, especially the newbies like myself. I have been spreading the word about this site -- but I guess you have to be ready --

Good evening/ early morning!

I am just checking in to say...umm, I am running a 5k in the morning! Yes, this was a whim decision with my buddies, but we will be completing an item on the bucket list for many of us. I think with my current workout regime I should be able to keep up! It will be a challenge but I am pumped! Only bad part - the leaving the house at 630 AM!!

Angie - AWESOME CUT! I LOVE IT!!

Rennie - your menu tomorrow is making me hungry! To cut the sodium down in the green beans, have you tried frozen ones?

Jami I had my crazy scale weeks in July I am really trying to make August better. I came home tonight and ate a plum, a grapefruit and 4 animal crackers = 160 calories. They kids had chicken fillet sandwiches.

Angie so when you get the modifications done, take another photo and smile please  Angie anytime ... you deserve every comment that you received you look beautiful. :) How does Cameron like Mommy's hair?

Diana I know all to well about the constipation. I remember the first time I asked my hubby to buy preparation H I was so embarrassed but I had no choice I just wanted to live in the warm water. Ouch on the lips. I've had the issue with the outside of my lips/mouth burning because I forgot my lip balm. I have really dry skin. Our youngest son is the same way with the skin. I feel so bad that I passed that on to him. I hope you don't have any reactions. Hey can you take a spoon of Benadryl before you eat out? Just a thought :)

Ok good night ... I really want to fix my omelet but I'm pooped so I guess I'll just get my behind up earlier :)

bedtime check in :)

according to MFP i managed to have around 1600 calories today.... that included a not-calorie-friendly dinner at applebees (and sharing a dessert!)

also awesome: my sodium wasn't even over by 100mg.

with dinner i had 2 large glasses of water. one with lemon, one with lime, to try to fight some of the sodium early. day one of my 3 day danger zone complete. i think i'm unscathed. :)

day two = day out shopping with one of my besties, and an evening at the bar for a birthday party.

day three = lunch out at a deli with my hubby and his friends.

dear willpower, please do not desert me during this crazy social-event-with-food-and-alcohol laden weekend. kthx.

Sorry Allison  I hope I stick to it. Congratulations on doing the 5K, I'm sure you'll do fine. And at the thought of snapping beans I did think, next time I go shopping I need to check out the frozen section :D. Can't wait to hear how your 5K goes.

Angie -- I still cannot get used to looking at your new avatar! You look so beautiful!

Diana -- I'm glad you enjoyed your high calories day - at least while you were eating. I definitely think we need those every now and then. You've been handling maintenance so wonderfully, I have no doubt you'll recover just fine!

Rennie -- Oh no! I was totally teasing. You text me whatever you need to text me! I CAN handle it! :D We've had a rough couple of weeks here and I'm ready to get things moving! The sodium in canned green beans is pretty incredible, huh. Boo! It sounds like you had a great night tonight...EXCELLENT WORK! Have fun at Zumba tomorrow.

Good Morning!

I wanted to sleep later, but I woke up hot for some reason. I put a different blanket on me last night. I normally go to bed cold. :dunno: Of course DH is always hot and I make him crazy with the blankets and being cold.

Calories for yesterday: Unknown
Weigh In: 146.8
Up: 3.6 pounds

I really thought my gain would be more than that. I'm still thinking it might go up more tomorrow since we ate at a later time last night. It's going to take time to adjust to higher calorie days. They just freak me out. I don't think it's as bad when we go out of town because I don't weigh myself then. It's just going to take time to adjust to things. I think I like doing things this way, though. I have my regular foods and I feel in control over my situation. My weight may drop a little. I have a vacation, special event, or special day and I can eat without counting the calories and hopefully wake up the next day still in my maintenance range.

When I scroll down the posts and see Angie's new avatar I think there is a new person posting on the thread!

Well, I had my little whoosh yesterday but was hesitant to post it, but today is close, so I'm going to claim it.

8-3 was 176.0 on official WI day
8-4 ~ 176.0
8-5 ~ 173.4
8-6 ~ 173.6 so I'm claiming -2.4, but nothing is official until Wednesday! LOL

Off to the Jazz and Blues fest with my brother and SIL. It's gonna be good!

Rennie It looks like you have a great plan for the day! :carrot: I also like the frozen green beans. They don't have any sodium and you can season how you like. Allegra seems to help. I try not to take anything because I was trying to figure out what I am allergic to. Also, if I take something, I can't go back to the Dr. for testing for 5 days or a week. I don't seem to be reacting right now. I just get very paranoid. I will go back to the allergist on the 24th. Hopefully we will figure something out at that appointment.

LGW I think you are doing great considering the crazy schedule. So many people would just give up when they are faced with a challenge. Keep up the great work!

Allison Good luck on the 5K. Let us know how it goes.

Mandy Great job staying on plan!

JamiSue I am such a control freak. Anything out of my norm makes me nervous. Especially with this whole weight loss thing. ;) At one point, when I was diagnosed hypothyroid, I weighed 358. I was actually a little higher than that. I had already lost some weight. I know I can gain a lot of weight very quickly. It's very scary for me.

CutieCourt Hi  You have a lot of special occasions coming up at the end of August.

LinJber Congrats on your whoosh! Enjoy the Jazz and Blues Fest!

Good Morning ...

off to a great start I got my calories down to 1293 from 1347 but the sodium is still outrageous. Zumba class in a hour I do hope they don't cancel it again but I think she said there's a better turn out on Saturday. I've already cooked a batch of turkey bacon, so just need to fix the potatoes and, pancakes and eggs. Family breakfast (I'll watch today over a cup of decaf) :D had my omelet and banana. I couldn't remember what I entered so I had to switch things around ;)

Thanks Jami  Have great day ... I meant to say that to Angie last night also. I always look at the avatar's and thought of we have a new lady with us :) BIG HUG Angie :)

Cutie he'll never forget. That is really great every happy day in the same month :)

Diana I did the same thing last night, not sure why I got that extra blanket. I never do that, I got hot this morning also and it does make you get up. Diana do you think you may just be nervous about gaining weight back (like in the back of your mind there's that thought that it won't go down) even though you definitely know it will. Our minds can make us crazy even when we know we are in control. ... Glad you're not having any reactions that's a definite plus  ((((I didn't erase what I typed because I think we are in each others heads some times)))) wow on your comment to Jami

Lin me too, have a wonderful time and nice whoosh 2.4lb Gone:high: Now we weigh the same :)

OK time to go, BBL

Rennie I am terrified of gaining weight. I know I can easily get to be 300+ again and I don't want that. When I was in high school (10th grade) I lost 100 pounds. I kept it off, for the most part, until I got married. Once I got married I started gaining. I was diagnosed hypothyroid around the time we were married 5 years. That's when I was 358+. I got on thyroid meds and lost 140 pounds. I was in a car wreck and had neck issues. I started slowly gaining again until I got to 292. At that time I went to a new Endo. She changed my thyroid meds and here we are. I don't have a very good history. I actually think of myself like an alcoholic or drug addict when it comes to food. It's best that I keep myself in check. That's why, once I hit my goal, I have chosen not to make too many changes. It's best to keep doing what I was doing all along. I don't know that it's the right thing to do, but it's what I am going with right now. :dunno:

Well, .8 of my silly 2 pound gain is gone again for 169 today. Still hmph at the scale though.

Diana - Maybe if you also added in some extra meat (or other protein) with your treat of sugar and carbs on the high cal days it would help you not feel so sick afterward? I know that when I splurge and go off plan for a restaurant steak dinner it almost always includes several yeast rolls and pecan pie, but I never feel gross afterward. However, when I go off plan for pizza and brownies I always feel ill. I figure it's because of the lack of protein in the pizza and brownies. Today's gain is not so bad considering. Lots of water and maybe you will see a drop tomorrow, or at least not more gain. I am going to try straight lemon or lime today. I am not loving the lemon/lime water lately for some reason, it's gagging me. I'm wondering if a shot of lemon/lime juice straight would still have the same benefit. I think of food for me as a drug too. Addiction disorder runs in my family. Tons of alcoholism (I hardly touch alcohol out of fear of that), we're all either smokers or ex-smokers, it's insane. For me, and one brother and a niece, food is a problem. So, I feel your pain there.

Angie - Your haircolor changed too? I thought the new cut was just better for your color. Either way, I still think it looks awesome on you and I'm lovin' that you made the new pic your avatar pic now.

Rennie - As Allison has already mentioned, if you get frozen veggies instead of canned they have hardly any sodium in them (mostly, just watch for the ones that come with flavors or sauces). I get most of my veggies in frozen form unless it is something from the farmer's market that looks really awesome or it is something that doesn't come in frozen. I do the same with a lot of my fruit, especially berries because for some reason the house we are living in causes fresh berries to spoil almost immediately.

LGW - Staying on plan is definitely a great NSV! If checking out other's progress helps you then you should go check out the goal and mini goal sections. I love reading through them sometimes.

Allison - Wow! I hope the 5K is going well. Good luck and let us know how you do.

Mandy - Good luck with the difficult weekend!

Lin - Jazz and blues fest sounds fun. Enjoy! Congrats on the whoosh!

I hope everyone is having an awesome weekend so far. :grouphug:

Fitgirlygirl Congrats on the .8. I am definitely a protein person. DH and I actually shared a ribeye steak at the restaurant last night. I think it was just that all the food was really heavy. It's not like I had one heavy food, it was all heavy. I actually think it's good that I felt bad afterward. Hopefully I will keep that feeling in my head for a while. (hmm, that never stopped me before )

I am definitely a foodie type person. I love food. I love trying new things. I am a big eater. It is very much like a drug for me. I am not necessarily an emotional eater, although I chow down during those times, too. It's just that I love food, I love good food, and I like lots of food. It's best that I stay on plan and in my comfort zone. ;)

Alcohol and smoking are in my family, too. I used to drink wine on the weekend. I have always kept a close eye on that because of the family history. When I started my plan, I pretty much stopped with all alcohol. When we went out of town for the 4th, DH and I shared a fruity mixed drink. I got a horrible case of the munchies. It was awful. The good thing is that now I can see how the alcohol affects me. It's best to stay away from it. I never did the cigarette thing. Thank goodness for that! Never tried any type of drugs. Thank goodness for that, too. Nope, I was too busy eating. ;)

Hola Chicas ! :)
Back from sunny Spain. Had a good time, but was as expected that our two families had some issues- we are very different but I fit in well with both. The teenagers had a ball, and I was not in bed before 3am most nights keeping up with my BFF and the teens.
Suffice it to say, thanks to salty foods, more food, late nights and too much cheap spanish wine (50 cts a bottle) I am expecting a significant gain :(
Bets were on when I was bobbing in the pool at midnight last night- I say 10lbs, my daughter says 3 and my son says don't be ridiculous !!!!!
I am scared to weigh in, but experience tells me I just have to face the music. This is the first time I have allowed myself to have things I would normally ban. It was fun to try things, and liberating to eat different foods, but scary at the same time. My food addiction is not cure - infact far from it.
Anyhow I am dog tired, we were up at 4am to leave and I didn't get to my bed til 1am.
I'll check in tomorrow with the bad news

starbrite Welcome back! It sounds like you had a fabulous vacation. Don't even get me started on the food addictions, again. ;) Read my posts above. Nothing is cured, it's just managed. Funny about when we went out of town. I thought I was going to have a huge gain, but I didn't. I enjoyed my foods, but stayed active. I think I had a couple pound gain, but it was gone in a couple days. It must have been only water weight. You may have done better than you think you did. What ever it is, you know the plan and what works for you. You can get right back on track and deal with it.

Eclipse Great job on the .8.

Eclipse: you are on a roll...your weight is my goal weight...I remember being that weight and being able to wear anything I desired...even show my flat stomach :)

Star: Welcome back! Just get back OP :)

Kukkie: let us know how the salad turns out and the ingredients please :)

Diana: Thanks! and I totally agree, I love good food! One of my quoted phrases at the office is "some people are just hungry" -- we were having a discussion on why people eat and that's what I had to say...they really got a kick out of it :) I was supposed to catch up on some sleep as well and once I felt well rested it was 815am....oh well..it's California...a beautiful day...going to take a drive along the coast :)

Fitgirl: looks like you're back on track, I'll check out the mini goals. The reason I haven't is because I'm just patiently waiting to post there myself

love2b:

linJ: claim it...I'm claiming mine

BTW, when I ordered my food at O.Garden yesterday, they brought someone a chicken ceasar salad right under my nose and I actually started salivating ...and said to myself..."that will be my new favorite OG meal"....who would've thought?

good afternoon ladies!

even after my dinner out last night, i still get to report what i believe is part 2 of my post-TOM whoosh :)

weigh in today: 248.7 (down 1.3 from yesterday)

i also took a new photo for my progress pics page on my blog (linked in my siggy!) i feel like my progress is becoming more and more apparent and THAT is huge motivation for me!

hopefully i don't gain back my whoosh tonight at the bar... i've decided to limit my drinking to a couple shots and a LOT of water, and very little food. i'll eat something healthy before i go to fill me up instead of eating fried and salty bar food. :D

linJber Congrats on the -2.4, even if it is unofficial!;)

Rennie Sounds like you've got a great plan going for the day! You can stick to it!

Diana I think you're making a great choice by continuing to do what you're doing! It definitely seems like the right thing to do! I will probably have to do something similar when I reach goal. Food is my drug, quite literally. I don't talk about it much but I have really problems with binge eating and secret eating. If I want to stay healthy I have to stay in CONTROL. If something varies from what I planned I can get real panicky.

FitGirlyGirl .8 gone is awesome! The rest will go, too! Just show that scale whose boss!;)

I'm down .6! That means I successfully navigated a buffet last night! I had a big plate of salad before I even looked at the hot foods. :D 2 buffets down, 1 to go. Sunday night before Les Mis.

My interview went amazingly well! While it's not official until I get the admissions letter, the department chair told me I was in! We actually planned out my next year and a half of study in the interview. :D They were pretty impressed with me, but then, I am pretty impressive.;) For those of you who asked, I'm going to be getting my Master's of Education. I hope to go on later and do Doctoral research in alternative education models in charter schools.:dizzy:But Master's first.

Of course this means that one month from now I'll be working full time and going to school full time!:o I'm really going to need to plan to stay OP. And not stress eat!!!

Kukkie It's my first time going to Les Mis. Have you seen it before?

Well, my loss for month is slowly dwindling away and I honestly have NO idea what's going on. If I think about it too much, I start feeling depressing, frustrated and discouraged. Somehow I'm managing to hang in there though and I'm working my plan, albeit with a little less gusto. I got my butt up and kicked it into high gear at the gym this morning. I did intervals (2 min easy:1 min all out) on the elliptical this morning and whooooweee was that a killer. I was thoroughly exhausted afterwards. Being exhausted was a good feeling. It's funny...I was tired, could feel my muscles burning in a good way, and my skin felt like it was glowing with the increased blood flow... and then it was suddenly impossible to feel sorry for myself! Instant pick me up! :D

Diana -- What you're doing sounds like it working perfectly. What a great teacher you're being for the rest of us! And wow on everything you shared with me. The weight loss thing and all the emotions and history tied to our issues is definitely hard to handle sometimes. I personally consider myself very to have such experienced women to learn from and follow.

Lin -- Yay for whooshes! Have a great time at the jazz festival today!

Rennie -- I'm glad your morning has started off so well.

Kukkie -- Congrats on the whoosh this morning and enjoy your quinoa salad!

Starbrite -- Welcome back and I'm SO happy to hear that you had such a great time!! Yep, I think getting back on that scale is the best thing but just remember how much you enjoyed yourself.

Jeri -- Woo hoo! Goal is right around the corner!!

LGW -- Yahoo! You should TOM who's boss didn't you? :)

Mandy -- Wow! Congrats on whooshing into a new decade today! You are definitely a huge motivator for me...so thanks! It sounds like you have a good plan for tonight just be sure to have fun too! And your pictures are amazing, I can see why they'd be such a great motivator to you!

Court -- Congrats on having such a great week! And an even bigger congrats for the 6 OP days in a row! You CAN do it this weekend too!

Jen -- Nice loss girly!
