Default Fun without food...

So, this week the topic at our meeting was "fun without food.".

Last night we took the dogs on a long walk (we have not been consistent with them ) and it was a lot of fun!

How do you do it?

Hubby and I went to a free outdoor movie on Friday. Super fun! It was "Rocky," of all things.

Just yesterday my sister visited with her family. We sat around, chatted, haphazardly put a puzzle together, watched the kids play video games...

No food involved.

I'm planning a Scrap and Chat. At first I told people there would be light brunch items and to feel free to bring something. Now we're saying there *might* be food around 1pm (Scrap & Chat starts at 11:30am and goes until 4pm). I don't feel pressured to have food out when people get there and if we don't have food, no big deal!!

This week my husband and I are going to do a kayaking class at LL Bean and after we're going to go hiking in a state park nearby. I'm REALLY excited!

I remember when I first started WW I saw a Kohls commercial and the model was wearing a really pretty dress. I told my husband, if I am to goal weight by New Years of 2011, I want a dress like that. And he said, well, what are you going to wear it to? I told him he could take me out to dinner. Then I thought, REALLY?! After all the hard work I would put in to get to goal, I'd have him take me to DINNER??!! I've since abandoned that dress, but I found a sundress for next summer. It's hanging on my closet door. And if I get to it by next summer, we're going to get concert tickets so I can wear the dress there!

A friend of mine is expecting so I was going to take a knitting class and knit her couple sets of baby booties. I've never knitted before but I love crafts and artsy things so it should be fun. It will occupy some of my time with no food involved.

I love knitting! I learned how to on-line through a website that posts youtube videos. It took me forever, but luckily the videos were free and I could watch them as much as I needed to. I'm currently teaching myself how to crochet.

Knitting is a great idea! I've tried to learn in the past, but I think I'm going to take it up for real this fall.

Lots of biking, hiking, beach-ing, and gardening!

One of my favorite things to do this summer is go to the beach w/ my bestie and we each just float on our own rafts and chit-chat. Then we get out, lay on our reclining beach chairs, and read smutty magazines.

I got up at 6AM, left for a hiking trip with my biology class at 730, and just got home at 8PM. While there was a LITTLE bit of hiking involved, we learned a LOT about Oregons forested and high desert areas. I'm hecka tired, but it was a ton of fun. I even have a NSV to share in the NSV thread!

Tuesday night my friends and I went to a concert (The Decemberists, if anyone has heard of them). It's an outdoor venue right on the Cuyahoga River in Cleveland and it was just a perfect evening.

I've also started making jewelry out of polymer clay and it's so much fun. I can also feel it in my arms, which is a nice added bonus
