So excited to be here. I really think this is great motivation not just for me but for everyone. I also want to give a HUGE thanks to SMSDREAMER2007 and Angelineloseweight for putting this together. You both completely rock.

07-31-2011, 07:56 PM
Hi everyone! So happy to be here. :)

Celebrating this weekend and next week. This weekend, we just got approved for the apartment we really wanted. So today we went out to lunch and to a movie to have some fun and celebrate. And next weekend we are going out for our anniversary, either to a newport KY, or a big festival, or else to a casino (we're still deciding). So it's going to be a little bit of a struggle to keep eating healthy. But today, I went to buffalo wild wings and got a grilled chicken salad and only ate a few of his french fries and use the dip salad into the dressing trick to try to curb calories and tonight I'm only having a piece of chicken and some veggies for dinner to make up for the high calorie lunch / popcorn at the theatre.
Will only be around 2000 for the day, and that was a "cheat" day. So I am still on track! All things in moderation is what I keep telling myself.
Looking forward to the contest! Good luck everyone! :)

So I figured I would share a little about myself since we're going to be keeping up with one another for a while, it's nice to know everyone better.

I'm 26 years old and I've been dieting for a little over a year now. At my highest weight I was 280 lbs and absolutely miserable. I gained most of it when I went through a sever depression a few years ago due to losing my brother. I lost about 50 lbs in a year and that was not even being very strict. It has only been just recently that I've really been upping my game with adding exercise and lots of water.

Honestly, my motivations for losing weight is to first simply be happy with myself. Secondly, I have HUGE self esteem issues when I'm out and about with my boyfriend because he's a healthy weight and runs. I feel like a cow beside him. Thirdly, I love shopping for clothes and accessories but rarely indulge because I simply don't feel like anything looks that great on me. I know I'm very harsh on myself so I'll be glad when I finally start to loosen up.

Otherwise, I love reading, gaming, hanging with friends, my boyfriend and my dog. I love going to the river and swimming and hope to go white water rafting next summer. I like to hike but get winded fairly easily right now so I hope to enjoy it a lot more one day. I'm currently saving up spending money for that whole new wardrobe when I get down to my goal weight which I hope to reach by May of next year. All day shopping? Yes please!

Well, there's a bit for now. I hope to get to know you all better during the course of this!

07-31-2011, 09:11 PM
Hi all! I thought I'd also share a bit about myself. I'm a 25 year old high school teacher and will be starting my 3rd year in the classroom in a few weeks already. I hit my highest weight last week... 261 pounds. I've been in denial about my weight for a long time and have yo-yo'd around 230-250 for a long time... living alone its been easy to emotional/stress eat my feelings away but when the scale hit 261 it was the ultimate wake up call.

I am currently calorie counting and also trying to work out. I've been doing at least an hour a day at the gym for the last week. While I know I won't be able to maintain that kind of time everyday once school starts back up I am aiming to make it there at least 4 times a week for an hour.

My motivations for doing this are simple... to be healthy, to find myself again (I've gotten lost in my career and furthering my degree), and to be able to once again shop at 'normal' stores.

I'm excited for this BL challenge... I'm a 'lurker' on the boards and come here almost daily for motivation and am excited to meet a new group of ladies. I've been a part of 3fc for a long time but haven't participated in any challenges lately.

07-31-2011, 09:19 PM
Oh! Oh! Wanted to share for those that especially calorie count (or even if you're looking for nutritional value)...

If you have a smart phone, I highly recommend downloading the app MyFitnessPal. Makes it very easy to track your calories taken in and out. LOVE this app. While it does say that not all nutritional labels recorded in the app may be correct, I have yet to come across any that are incorrect (though that is not to say there aren't). Either way, I'd say give it a try and see how you like it.

Lets do this, ladies! (and any men that might be in this group!)

07-31-2011, 11:28 PM
Hey autumn Beauties.

Just checking in on ya. I haven't heard from your team Captain in a few days and the challenge starts tomorrow!

I'll be keeping tabs on ya'll till she shows up. :)

Sibi- You are very welcome..I wanted to see them start back up again and angeline and I figured Now is as good of a time as any to get one going again ;)

07-31-2011, 11:30 PM
Hey ladies! So glad to be a part of this! I can't wait to see everyones success!
Lets do this!!!:)

08-01-2011, 12:36 AM
Question to pose to you all.

Truth be told I plan on heading up these challenges for a good long while I love doing it and I like the challenges. The siggy's What do you like about them and what do you wish to see changed? Any suggestions for what might work better for the next challenge?

08-01-2011, 01:43 AM
I really like them! Very creative:) I'm acctually kicking myself currently, I had a great idea for team names next time..and I forgot. Ill try to remember! :)

08-01-2011, 05:40 AM
Hey everyone! I'm excited for this challenge!!! The last 2 weeks have been on and off for me, and I am okay with that. We've had a lot going on. I had a baby in April and severe pneumonia, so May and June were mainly about recovering and getting my body ready to get healthy. I started calorie counting in June. Then July was about starting C25K and adding exercise to my routine!

So far I've lost 46 pounds (250 when I came home from the hossy with the baby, 204 today!) and I'm really ready to jump-start my progress again! Look forward to getting to know you ladies throughout this challenge.

SMS- looks great! I love the blinkies, they're beautiful!

08-01-2011, 11:42 AM
Since we are introducing ourselves and our motivations, I might as well share mine. I'm 27 years old and I recently started this journey to a better life. I've been obese since high school and I've had social anxiety all of my life. I never did anything to change any of that. I was too afraid of change. It wasn't until a recent episode of extreme self-loathing that I decided that enough was enough and that it was time to change. I picked up a workbook to help me with my anxiety and the first two things it recommends are exercise and better nutrition. So I thought, might as well add in the weight loss component to this, but not have it be the driving force.

After my first workout I felt better. After a week of exercising my mood was stable and I had a lot of energy. My goal is to do cardio every day for at least 15 minutes. I'm so glad that I found Leslie Sansone's DVDs. They're easy to do, they make me sweat and I'm not too tired the next day to use as an excuse against working out. I have other workout DVDs that I'll do every once in a while to break the routine.

I've also started to make better eating choices, mostly due to eliminating things that weren't good for me (cookies...) and including things that are (fruits and vegetables). I'm keeping track of what I eat on Fitday along with other things to make sure I don't eat too much or too little. So, I'm going on this journey to find a better me.

I was really glad to find this challenge because it is a way to keep me accountable. I've also signed up for the 90 Day Exercise challenge which goes parallel to this one as they both serve my needs.

Good luck everyone! Let's do our best!

08-01-2011, 01:18 PM
Great info ya'll! So glad you all are here! I've kinda become TBL organizer for the 20-somethings. I have pcos and for the first time in my life am the lowest I have ever seen on the scale since I was 9 years old. Gla to hear we have people who are better now than before and making active changes to make themselves better! I see this team going far!

08-01-2011, 01:51 PM
Might as well share mine too :)

I'm 26, married and with a 4 year old son .. I was average growing up, my eating habits weren't greatest .. with my mother and grandmother one portion was always too little etc & I had bad anxiety and suffered bad migraines.. had a lot of negative things happen that I didn't know how to control at the time.. .. at 18 i started packing the pounds slowly & 19 had my gallbladder removed and diagnosed with pcos .. my husband is the type that is thin and eats whatever so naturally i did also with the bad eating habits ... had a lot of stress with my marriage and became agoraphobic, so that meant little movement and a lot of emotional eating/binging which I still struggle with now but am more determined now than ever to stay healthy.. and I'm tired of always being stuck inside.. Ive lost weight twice in big amounts, so I know its in me to do it

last two days hasn't been so good to be honest, Ill be taking my son to school september and ive been stressing about it and having to go out to stores to buy things for him etc its so overwhelming, but today thankfully im back on track and its a new month and new team.. so im confidant I can have the support here I dont get otherwise to keep going :)

08-01-2011, 02:10 PM
Hey! Looking forward to this and getting to know everyone. I've mostly been a lurker up till now.

A little about me: I'm 26 and I work at a clothing store part time and I'm a business/economics student. Last year I got sick and had to have my gall bladder removed and as a result I had a hard time eating junk food and lost about 25 pounds. Then Thanksgiving hit and I stopped losing. I'm a sucker for sweets/baked goods and my family has plenty of those around the holidays.

I've become motivated again recently and had a pretty good week. I got a good deal on a gym membership at a gym that opens in my neighbourhood next week so I'm looking forward to that.

I haven't really set a weight loss goal for this challenge but I want to be a size 14 (I work at a plus size clothing store and it's the smallest size we sell) by the end. I'm currently a 16 on top and an 18 on the bottom, so I think it's doable.

08-01-2011, 03:24 PM
Hi all! Today I'm celebrating one week since I decided it was time for a change. After only one week I already am feeling healthier, less stressed and less tired... but this only the beginning. I also put away my scale I don't want it to dictate my daily life and seeing it sitting out was too tempting everyday to get validation. I was going to weigh in Monday mornings but with this challenge I'll start doing it Sunday mornings instead, looking forward to a big number this week :).

Sibi I'll have to check that out. In the past I've used fitday ALOT and have recently been using a combination of Calorie Counter and CardioTrainer on my phone to track calories and exercise.

PacSunMama how is C25K going? I'm hoping to get back into it this fall once I get some weight off and need a change up in my gym routine. I've done the first 1 or 2 about 4 different times already... haven't made it past the second week though. I've had a lot of friends go through all the weeks and really enjoy it. Best of luck!

08-01-2011, 03:30 PM
Woo! Autumn Beauties! Seriously pumped about this and I can tell those that posted so far as well.

Some tips for my ladies:

Strawberries are an awsome snack food. Weighing in at a mere 50 calories per CUP, they can also help you lose weight and control your appetite. I would post a link for more info but I'm not allowed to since I'm not at 25 post yet so just google strawberries weight loss.

My Aunt told me that lemon juice can help keep off the water weight. Now I can't say this is 100% true but I'm sure some of you have heard of the lemon juice diet. While I'm not doing the lemon juice diet I do like to squeeze a lemon slice in my water and have noticed better consistency in my water weight. So give it a try!

08-01-2011, 04:25 PM
Hey all! So excited to get this going, and I love the color orange :-P I'm 26 years old, marrried, and have been trying to be more healthy seriously for a few years now. I saw that scale at 299 and it scared me into doing something! One of my biggest goals for getting healthy is I want to have a child or two in a few years and I don't want to pass my bad habits to them. Looking forward to getting to know all of you!

08-01-2011, 06:19 PM
Hello lovely ladies- I was out of town this weekend- so I'll be checking in on you tonight:) hope you're all having good starts!!!

08-01-2011, 06:33 PM
Hello everyone! It's so great to hear everyone's stories, I'm excited to do this challenge with all of you!

A bit about me. I'm 22 years old and I just graduated from university. On September 26 I am moving to the UK to start grad school there, and I really want to be more fit/healthier by the time I get there.

My starting weight for the challenge was 174, but since then I have consistantly been seeing much higher numbers... I am leaving for my friends cottage on Thursday so I will post my weight then and I am pretty sure it will be a gain from my starting weight :( Oh well, that is only one week!

I'm off for a run now. You lovely ladies have motivated me to get some exercise ;)

08-01-2011, 07:04 PM
Oy vey, today is going so slowly. I have a million things to do but all the calls I'm supposed to return, nobody is answering. My baby has his first cold and so he was up all night frustrated because he couldn't eat/suck on his binky and breathe at the same time. Now my older son won't nap which I really need to sleep with these guys today! I think I might repeat a week 3 of C25K if I can't get a nap in, I'm totally beat.

Looking forward to getting under the 200's though. I was 203.8 this morning (and start weight for me for this challenge was 208 so I'm happy to be making progress!)

08-01-2011, 08:30 PM
Bit about me! My name is Mary, I'm 22(almost 23, I'm a bank teller and a college student! I have been obese for Years and I just woke up one day Tired of it! My father passed away of a heart attack and my mom has heart problems, I decided to make them both proud and do this for my health! I've grown to love my life in this active, healthy way! I'm the smallest I've been since I can remember, I'm not sure my weights when I was younger, I used to avoid the scale but I know my junior/senior year of high school Iw as 275. So I've made tremedous progress!
I'm so happy to have found this site around the beginning of my journey, it has helped me SOOOO Much!
I can't wait to get to know you ladies more as we take on this challenge, and many more!!!
Happy losing!:)

08-02-2011, 01:33 AM
Hola again ladies- I figured I would do my about me now:)

I am married and we are trying to get pregnant. I really want to lose the extra weight so that I'll have a much easier time getting, staying and enjoying pregnancy. We've been married for a little more than three years and it's time darnit!

I look forward to lots of losses for us all for all our special reasons!!!

08-02-2011, 01:34 AM
Welcome back angeline! Hope you had a fun weekend! *hands you your captains hat* Ya got an AWESOME team here!! (Doesn't mean we lovely leaves won't beat ya'll at this weeks weigh in though)

08-02-2011, 01:01 PM
How's everyone doing? I may have overdone the exercise yesterday. I had walked 5 miles with WATP on Sunday and then walked 3 miles yesterday. By the time I was done I was fatigued. I hadn't felt that way in such a long time. Lesson learned: go easy the day after some strenuous exercise.

A general tip: Remember to breathe! Every time you feel stress, anxiety, or catch yourself breathing shallowly, take a few deep breaths. They help calm you down and hopefully reduce the stress and anxiety. Reducing these two things help with weight loss as well. I like to do alternate nostril breathing a few times a day. It looks silly, but it really helps calm me down. I would post a link, but my post count is still low.

08-02-2011, 01:37 PM
I totally do that megmix- I know it probably looks really silly so I try not to do it in front of people, but when I get super stressed at work I do chair yoga and focus on deep breathing. It helps me realize everything will be a-ok. Plus it's almost like a mini-workout:):):)

Droped one lb since weigh in on Friday and I'm hoping it sticks!!!

How is everyone today?

08-02-2011, 04:46 PM
I'm honestly feeling tired and achy today. Trying to motivate myself into doing either bike riding or Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred. Not sure if it's going to happen or not. I don't know, today just feels like one of those horrible days but for no good reason. Well, I shouldn't say that as TOM is here and hormones are all wonky. Gah, i hate this time of the month.

I did my second class of yoga yesterday which I believe is why i'm achy today. I really enjoy it though so I'll probably keep up with it. Now I just have to do some of it on my own time.

I think I might take a nap...

08-02-2011, 10:43 PM
Hey all just checking in quick today. Overall had a good day got some stuff done for work and spent a little over an hour at the gym today. Nothing too exciting going on.

Hope all is well with everyone! Keep going ladies!

08-02-2011, 11:01 PM
Just thought I'd do a update about me since a lot of others did. I'm 25 and married (1 year this upcoming Sunday!). I currently work as a contractor at P&G in their pet care department doing customer service and shelter / breeder programs. I moved away from my family and friends when I got married last year, and have had a hard time adjusting to having no one else but my husband around to lean on, when I was used to being surrounded by family and friends. But I am starting to feel like it's home a bit more. I have CFIDS/ME and was diagnosed 11 years ago when I was 14. I had always been slightly overweight, but when I became ill it spun out of control since I wasn't able to do much of anything and was always sick. I used food as a source of comfort, I guess. I am desperately trying to overcome that, and my highest was 260. I started my "life change" 2 weeks ago, and am slowly working my weight down. I know it'll take time.. I really want to stick with it this time, especially since my husband and I would like to have children in a few years and that isn't really possible for me at the weight I am now. It needs to be a life change, not a diet.

08-02-2011, 11:48 PM
Quick check-IN ladies :) I walked 2 miles today..Doing mixed intervals of power walking & jogging. I'm sore :( I know this is all worth it though..

08-02-2011, 11:50 PM
Today has been a pretty good day! Struggling through some challenges with work, otherwise life is good!!

Went to Zumba class tonight! And then grocery shopping! lol
Hope everyone had a Great day!

08-03-2011, 08:47 AM
Hey everyone! Doing a quick check-in this morning. I already tackled 2 miles on the treadmill this morning before 6AM and then after work going to either drag my butt to zumba or do some more workouts at home lol Hope everyone has a great day!

08-03-2011, 04:54 PM
Angeline, great job on the loss so far! Also, good luck on trying to get pregnant! Weight loss definitely helps so much, especially when you're trying to get everything into balance.

Megmix- great job on the walking! Honestly, with walking, once you're able to walk 2-3 miles, you should just go with what your body wants to do. Even marathoners need a few days to recover after a "long" run which could be 6-8 miles, even in top shape! I think if you feel up to it, you should keep on walking, even if it's just a slow mile or two on your off day. Good job!

PinkSnow- Great job going to the gym for an hour!! I've been so swamped this last week and I really need and miss my gym time. I will have to fit it in somewhere today because I feel myself just itching to get there and work out!

Meli- you have the right attitude! You can do it!

Kam- this is totally worth it!! The more you walk/powerwalk, the more your body will adjust. It won't hurt so much anymore and you'll feel powerful during your walks very soon! Keep it up!

mhill and Ashley- great job working out!! Like I said above, I'm really missing it!

Life here has been hectic. It will slow down slightly after Saturday. We are moving next month, my husband is graduating from a really intense training thing he's been at for the last 18 months and so we have a lot going on. I've taken up the challenge of going back to school, while staying home with my 3-year old (his bday is next week!) and 4-month old! It's been super crazy trying to get organized for the yard sale but I know once that's over, we can focus on moving and really get going and get ready for that! Diet hasn't been great. Although I'm within my calorie goals each day, I'm really eating the wrong things and I feel sluggish as a result. I'm trying to turn it around today and eat the protein my body wants, I know it will pay off and I'll feel so much better at the end of the day, especially if I manage to run or go to the gym tonight.

Have a great day everyone!

Sibi- A nap sounds divine! I accidentally fell asleep with the baby last night at 7:45pm and slept till 3:30am!! I NEVER fall asleep before midnight so that was crazy.

08-03-2011, 05:35 PM
I did end up taking an hour and a half nap yesterday HOWEVER I also walked 2.2 miles later that evening as well so I consider myself even. Today is suppose to be a rest day so I'm trying to take it easy for the most part.

Anyone else notice that when you're losing weight and going for life changes in your everyday food and health it makes you want to change other things as well? Less lazy with cleaning, tighter on the finances, etc?

08-03-2011, 08:48 PM
Check-in- 20 mins of HIIT on treadmill. I did intervals of 40 secs@ 6.0 mph & 1 min@ 3.0 I also did 3 laps around my cove..

@Sibi= Yes mam. I am most definitely less lazy with the cleaning. I'm starting to clean everything in sight.

@Pac- I hope everything slows down for you girl.. Congrats on your hubby graduating & happy early early birthday to your 3 year old :). I know how overwhelming things can be. Me and my husband just getting settled into our new home. I will be starting school back in the fall. I have a 6 year old & 1 year old so I can most definitely relate on kids :).

08-03-2011, 09:42 PM
Check in - ate way too many calories yesterday due to barely eating all day then being sick and just ordering a pizza and salad instead of cooking. Ate probably 2200 calories yesterday. But trying to make up for it today. Ate 1580 today, drank 3+ bottles of water, and took a walk on my lunch. So, hopefully me blowing that one meal won't blow my weigh in for the week. I am trying to find a balance between my love of food to controlling how much / what I am eating. Like I said before, I really want this to become a lifestyle and not a diet. My problem with diets in the past, was I set too high of expectations for the way I was eating, and when I failed I would go "okay, I blew it" and then completely fall off my eating plan. So this time, I am always striving for better, not perfect. And if I fail one meal, trying to move on the next and focus on doing better the next bite that goes in my mouth.
Self-loathing when I overeat just makes me eat more, and that is a terrible pattern. So, I am trying to fix the way I think about it and really just focus on being more healthy. It seems to be working so far, so hopefully I will keep up with it and keep striving to eat better and move more. :)

08-03-2011, 10:13 PM
MeliZ - It's great that you are changing the way you think about food and focusing on being healthier. I'm doing the same. So far it seems to be working for me as well.

Pac - Thank you for the support. I've kept on walking, but I really do need to be careful about overdoing it. I need to pace myself. Also, good luck with the yard sale. Hope that turns out well for you. Remember to take a few minutes off to try to relax. :D

Sibi - I still hate cleaning, but it's getting harder to ignore it. must. not. suppress urge. to. cleaaaannnnn...

Angeline - I'm glad someone else knows of the greatness of alternate nostril breathing. I prefer to do it in the morning when my sinuses aren't so stuffed up and then later on in the day when I feel like I need a boost.

So far today seems to be going well for me. Hopefully it's going great for all of you as well!

08-03-2011, 10:53 PM
Hi All! Today was a good day at the gym but a bad day of eating. But I didn’t blow my calorie allotment just made some bad choices. Ah well tomorrow is a new day and I’m not giving up! Got some new fresh fruits and veggies tonight at the store so looking forward to some new snacks tomorrow.

Sibi – I totally agree about the cleaning and finances I’ve noticed the same thing! Hope it keeps up :)

Kams- Keep up the good work! What is HIIT?

Meliz – I used to be the same way with falling off the wagon and giving up afterwards. It is a lifestyle change full of ups and downs you just gotta keep trudging, good work!

08-03-2011, 11:35 PM
@Pink- Thanks hun.. HIIT is High Intensity Interval Training..You can google it to find out more about it. It's the fastest way to burn fat. You do is 3xs a week for no less than 10 mins and no more than 20 mins.

08-04-2011, 02:00 PM
Irritated but motivated today... I've been OP, back to running... and yet the scale is up again. I don't get it, but I'm just gonna push it harder. I need to get the heck out of the 200's. I've been stuck here for 6 weeks!

08-04-2011, 05:48 PM
I'm rooting of your you, Pac!

About to do some 30 day shred and then walking later in the evening. My energy level is kind of low today for whatever reason though. Hoping the exercise will help.

Overall, I'm finding my ability to say no to the bad foods to be coming a lot easier which is nice. Hope it stays that way!

08-04-2011, 06:10 PM
Today's a low energy day for me too. Didn't manage to walk as much as I wanted to, but at least I got 30 solid minutes of exercise. Maybe later I'll do some Kundalini Yoga.

Hope everyone is doing well. :D

08-04-2011, 07:23 PM
Definitely needed that 30 day shred workout. It's helped me get some energy back and now I'm ready for my evening walk in the suffocating humidity. Woo!!

08-04-2011, 08:30 PM
Check-in:: I power walked for 45 minutes today. (2 miles)

08-04-2011, 10:20 PM
Hey all! Low energy day for me today too! Must be something in the air. Didn't sleep well at all last night.. maybe only a few hours so after some morning appointments instead of hitting the gym I took a nap. But I'll just consider this my rest day as I hit the gym the last ten days straight! But back up off my butt tomorrow and am going to hit the gym hard! Night ladies!

08-05-2011, 12:19 AM
Definitely needed that 30 day shred workout. It's helped me get some energy back and now I'm ready for my evening walk in the suffocating humidity. Woo!!

I LOVE the 30 day shred- did it last year and it was so hard, but so good too:)

08-05-2011, 12:20 AM
I had a pretty on today today- just got back from the gym and had a salad with chicken for dinner. Need to watch the mid day snacking, but doing great otherwise!

08-05-2011, 01:07 AM
I have been doing decent but yesterday, today and tommorrow will be rough days for me. I have been slacking on exercise due to a totally busy schedule.
I have to get back on Track!!

Morning everyone! Doing well the past few days, walked at work and was on target for calories. This weekend should be a bit of a struggle, because we're going to newport, OH for our anniversary. We were going to the casino, but decided that newport sounds better. Plus more walking! So, we're going to the aquarium and to newport on the levee, and probably out to dinner, etc. Then Sunday his parents want to take us to Olive Garden for our anniversary. Will try to still do decent. Looked up the calorie count for everywhere I know we'll be and will try to keep it as on point as possible!
Everyone have a great weekend. :)

What the heck?! I'm motivated and following my calorie-counting perfectly. I log everything AS I eat it, so I'm not forgetting anywhere.

Yesterday I had 1847 cals, I try to keep it between 1750-1900 since I'm nursing a 4-month old exclusively. The day before, I had 1637 (also accounting for what the treadmill says I burned, so ate 1937 total) And somehow this week, for no apparant reason, the scale is creeping up and up! I started this week at about 203.8, and this morning it's up to 205.8. I'm not eating salty foods. I am drinking water, and although probably not enough it shouldn't be enough to account for a 2lb weight gain?!

I'm getting very frustrated. These two days are an example of how it's been the last 6 weeks. In that time, I had ONE whoosh and no weekly normal losses. I really don't know what to do.

Hey everyone... the lack of energy is definitely in the air. I haven't been able to get on 3FC hardly at all because I've been so busy getting used to being employed full-time for the first time in years. I basically come home, eat dinner and go to bed. On the upside, I have stayed within my calorie limit (the routine is definitely helping), but on the downside I haven't worked out at all. I am still hoping to work out on my lunch break but am waiting to start that until I'm more settled in at work.

My weight has gone *up* 2 pounds for the past several days, despite nothing changing calorie-wise. I think it's because I've gone from snacking all day to eating normal 3 meals a day. Eventually I will try to just start snacking at my desk instead of sitting there eating my whole lunch at once, but until then my body is just going to have to get used to it lol. Anyway, within this calorie range I've generally been *losing* 1-2 pounds a week so hopefully once my body gets over the shock of getting up in the morning and actually going to work, it will get back with the program.

Looks like yall are doing much better than me workout-wise! Hopefully some of that will rub off on me :D Maybe next week I'll re-start the 30ds right after I get home....hmmm...

Pac, I have never nursed and I'm sure you've probably done the research but just in case...

Are you sure you're taking in enough calories with nursing? Obviously I'm no expert but I've always read that women can lose a good deal of weight while nursing, however, if you're having a problem maybe your body feels like you're not taking in enough and has gone into conservation mode.

Also, I have found that every once in a while I get stuck within the same two pounds so I'll take ONE day to go over my calorie limit. Something like a thousand calories over and yes, it's usually with a burger or pizza. After that, I go right back to 1340 calories or less a day and my body seems to always jump starts back into weight loss. Now, I really don't know if this would work with anyone else but it has worked great for me before.

Also, today is another rest day for me. My rest days are too close together right now (followed the boyfriend's plan) and I plan to fix that next week. I walked 3.3 miles yesterday evening and that was alone with the 30 day shred. I think I ended up burning around 550 calories which was really nice.

08-05-2011, 07:02 PM
Thanks Sibi! I am pretty sure my calories are okay, some days I eat closer to 1650 and some days closer to 1950. If I exercise, I do eat the approximate calories that I burn.

I think really I need to crack down on WHAT I'm eating, and refocus the nutrition aspect. I guess all calories are not created equally and I've been cheating myself out of good whole grains and lots of protein. So even though I've been within my calories, I just looked back over the last few weeks, and where I'd usually have protein between 25-30% of my total, it's been more like 12-15%. Totally not enough... So let me change things around and I think I'll see good results.

Thanks for the support!

PacSunMama - Hopefully your new plan will show you some results.

Today was looking to be a bad day. Yesterday's low energy woke up with me today along with a bloated eye due to a stye. It looked terrible. Yesterday afternoon, I figured out that the pain I've been feeling on my left arm was not due to sore muscles but a pinched nerve. I've been doing the exercises I've googled and they seem to work a bit. Overall, it was a dour morning. When in pain my mood sours quite easily.

I just finished my workout and I'm happy to say that I'm feeling much better. Working out didn't help yesterday but it did today. :D

Hope everyone else is doing much better.

Hey Ladies! I had a much better day today. After napping yesterday instead of going to the gym I put in a good 2 hours today and got my sweat on. Trying to catch up with things around the house tonight and figure out something for dinner. Nothing is sounding good yet. I can hardly believe its Friday already I feel like this week flew by… must mean summer is coming to an end :(
MeliZ - Happy Anniversary! Enjoy the weekend away! Great idea thinking ahead on menus!
PacSunMama – Hang in there it’ll turn around!

Check-in:: 10 min of TF HIIT 15. I have to work my way slowly with this one until I'm able to do the entire 15 min with no problem. I did 20 min HIIT on treadmill 30 sec on & 30 sec off @ 6.5 mph..

Pac- Don't give up girlie. I hope your new plan will give you the results you want :)

Meliz- Happy early anniversary hun.. Enjoy your weekend with the hubby :)

Pink-You go girl!!! 2 hours is awesome!! Keep up the good work..

Thanks guys! I'm excited. He surprised me when I got home from work by being ready to take me to dinner so I didn't have to cook. I did pretty well with a half of a modified salad with grilled chicken - though I did have 2 drinks. I figured out my day around 2200 calories for the whole day even with the surprise Applebee's + drinks. Trying to at least make relatively good choices, even if I'm not being perfectly on plan. And at the very least, it's so much better than I used to do. That's progress. Tomorrow, we're off to Newport to go to the aquarium and the shops on the levee and everything. Should be fun with lots of walking. Then, sunday we're going to a festival during the day then Olive Garden at night.
Hope everyone has a spectacular weekend. :)

@Mhill= what part of tn are you from?

08-06-2011, 09:30 PM
Today has been a better day for me. Definitely more energy. Just got done doing a 2.2 mile walk at 3.5 mph. I'm working my way up! Tomorrow will probably be 3.3 miles at the same pace. Thankfully I'm finding it easier and easier to get myself to do some exercise. I hope it keeps up as I plan to run the Disney World Marathon in January of 2013.

Hope everyone is doing well today. Looking forward to seeing some lower numbers tomorrow from everyone!

Tomorrow is our first weigh in ladies!! Whoo hoo one week down! I did a good hour of cardio today at the gym… it felt good, but I was too tired to do any weight training. I’ve been sleeping terribly lately and last night was no exception. Ugh. Oh well, getting my butt up tonight to take my dog on a mile walk! Hoping for a good weigh in tomorrow!

Mhill – I’m so jealous a tax-free weekend?! I could only dream of such a day in Michigan! Hope you got some great deals!

08-06-2011, 10:27 PM
Update: Went to newport on the levee, ate out for lunch and went to a festival completely surrounded with food, plus had some drinks. And kept it to 2100 calories! Yes, that's way more than my consistent daily plan. But considering the celebratory weekend, I am cutting myself a break and super happy that I didn't completely blow it out of the water by letting myself eat everything sight.

I'm over in Middle Tennessee, go to MTSU in Murfreesboro and currently live in Tullahoma until I can get a work position in Murfreesboro so that I can move.. I'm about 3.5 hours from Memphis(Had to make the trip 3 times since January) lol

How's the day going for you girlies so far?
What's on the menu for Sundays dinner?

Weighed in this morning and down 11 pounds since I started, 10 since I started the challenge and I already feel a little difference in my clothes. I'm sure my weight loss won't stay at such high numbers in the future but I am enjoying it for now! Trying to get as much time in at the gym before school starts again and getting my calories in order. My dog is enjoying it too as we went from walking around the complex which is about .25 a mile to going to the park every night which is a little over a mile. Best wishes for a good first week weigh in ladies!

Kams - Way to go!! Dinner for me tonight was interesting... I tried out a recipe using Shirataki noodles (tofu), I'm a vegetarian and have been trying out new healthier meals but I'm pretty picky! It was ok.

Meliz - Sounds amazing! Hope you had an amazing time!

08-07-2011, 11:55 PM
@mhill- Your right around the corner from me girl ;) lol

Well come on over girl! Let's work it out! lol

08-08-2011, 04:28 AM
Was down 4.8 pounds since my initial starting weight, which is encouraging because lately I've felt like such a slug! I just hope I squeaked in for the WI time limit because I've been so slammed all week/weekend and finally just remember to come log in my WI from Sunday morning!

How's everyone doing?? I am at 203.2, so creeping every so slowly to that illusive onederland. I feel like I've been hovering here all summer. I'm really ready to make some change happen!!

08-08-2011, 08:34 AM
Good Morning! I am already on the ball this morning. Did Zumba for 30 mins when I got up but I will work out again when I get home! Hope everyone has a good Monday and a great week for weight loss :)

08-08-2011, 01:07 PM
@Pac- Girl you're almost there hun.. Keep at it!!!

@Ashley-That's good hun!!! It's good to see you are very motivated..:)

I'm doing good this morning. I weighed in at 189.6 this morning, I couldn't resist getting on the scale again lol.
