We moved and then a week later went on Vacation for a week. So going to start counting calories tomorrow. I have to go clean my apartment today and then turn in keys tomorrow. So didn't do to bad on vacation up 1 LB.

Can't wait until I'm in the two-teens, but even being at 235 is a big deal for me. I've been stuck above 240 for most of the last 15 years, so getting to here is pretty nice.

Trying to work out every day and lose a little bit of weight every week. I've found that trying to set goals bigger than that doesn't work so well for me. I always seem to not make them on time.

it's one of the funny things about a combined thread like this - half of us are super excited about getting close to the 220s, and half cannot wait to get out of them! lol!

Right now, the 220s are looking VERY good to me! lol! Hopefully there in another couple of weeks or so.

Well, I lost two lbs this week and am at 238, so I am FINALLY out of the 240's thread! :carrot::carrot::carrot::carrot:

I have lost 72 lbs since December.

I would LOVE to see the 220's! I'm at 234 at the moment and I'm scared to weigh myself because I had a disastrous week in the food department (that's always the way isn't it? Social life rockets, healthy eating plummets..)

It's my birthday in 3 weeks, so I hope to make it by then. I don't even mind if I literally JUST make it, by point-something of a lb, as long as that scale reads 22something!

Wow so many new people!!! Welcome the more people the more support and these days I need all the support I can get. Im hoping to have a good month I shot up to 233 from 217 I need to get back with it. I worked out today and I have planned my calores so im hoping to have an on plan day!

still on plan here! I WI on Sundays and was close enough to the 220s this past Sunday to have a reasonable shot at getting there with my next WI. So I'm not about to mess that up!!

I started at 261 so even though it will be just over 30 lbs, there is just something huge in my mind when I change decades and going from the 260s to the 220s is a major thing for me. I want it to happen as soon as possible!!

I've been on plan this week so far. I weigh in on Sundays, so usually during the week I don't post much to what I consider my "weigh in" thread. Thanks for the words of encouragement Matilda08! :)

I have no idea how long I will be in the 230's and 220's. My body is still adjusting to my new muscle that I have built up from the power yoga I am doing, and from my working out every day. I also added a bit of carbs into my diet about six weeks ago and I think my body has finally adjusted to the reintroduction to fruit and a small amount of whole grains and is now not holding on to as much water as it was when I first reintroduced the carbs.

In any case, I am happy to be in this thread. (finally) :carrot:

Congrats on the losses everyone!

My body likes to hover between two weights before it decides to drop some pounds. Before it was 236-238, and now it's 234-236. I can't wait to get into the 220s. And the 210s. Then the 200s. 190s...

I ordered Kettlenetics, a pilates DVD, orthotics, and a cage mount for my water bottle cage. I've had less energy lately and I'm less alert later in the day. I figure it's because I haven't exercised in a while. :o I need to stop slacking off.

Thanks! I'm doing it for 10 days minimum, but thinking of just doing it until I break into the 100's, which might be more like 15 days.

Then I'll eat nothing but fruits and veggies for a bit, and then slowly reintroduce tofu and grains and beans and do a 1500 cal diet, 1200 cals of food and 300 cals of juice a day, the reintroduction plan is so I don't gain the weight back.

Ah! I haven't posted in this thread since it was still in Part 2. =) I had a bad couple weeks and have worked my way back down again. I'm getting close to the twoteens. The last time I specifically remember weighing that low was my senior year of high school in gym. I weighed 219. I'll always remember that because it was embarrassing of course. Shesh, that was 10 years ago!

I started on Monday and it was the only hard day because I ended up with a massive headache.

On Monday I weighed 233.2. This morning I weigh 223.8. =) I'm obviously super happy with the results. I've thought about taking it further than a week, but I haven't decided yet.

Sounds great! very healthy! It seems i got lucky with my breville juicer awhile back, it was on sale for 120$ now I can't find the same one for less than 170 and it's not even available on amazon right now except used for 200+

I just watched that docu, it was my inspiration! My skin is generally clear but since i started this bc it's been breaking out a little, this is the first time in five months it's been 100% clear, not a single spot.

2. Stomach acid. My stomach was like an acid volcano

Are you having those problems? What are you doing to fix/avoid those issues?

I'm not having either of those problems. Sorry I can't be of more help.

I do hav ibs-c and it honestly seems to have helped that issue, it was starting to act up again, but everything has been good so far (day 4)

But, i also do a smoothie every night, fresh juices with a frozen banana, blended, and I add flax meal for added fiber.

Uggh I finally crawled through the 240s. I've been hovering around 241-2ish for several weeks now, but lost 6.4 this week. So happy/excited to be seeing some movement. And YAY 230s!

I am down 1 lb this week to 237. 73lbs total lost so far since December.

I am definitely retaining water, my hands are all puffy and my rings are tight, so I think I am actually doing better than the 1 lb loss.

In any case, I'll take the loss with no complaints!

I'm feeling a little stuck and also maybe a wee bit self-sabotaging. I had been on a roll for the last three months and lost about 15 lbs, but I'm now to the point where I'm going below the weight I've been for the last 18 years or so. Maybe it's a bit scary. But regardless, my eating is getting a little sloppy and I've been stuck between 235-239 for nearly a month now.

I totally get the thing about moving to unchartered waters - I've got about 8 lbs to get to the lowest weight I can remember being. I think I may have been below that at one point, after my son was born and I was nursing, but that weight all came back on pretty quickly after that, so it barely counts anyway. I'm simultaneous looking forward to and nervous about seeing new lows on the scale.

Scale said 236.8 this morning, but then my husband said he thinks our scale is couple of lbs low! Damn! I go to the doctor today and, where I usually get weighed in at morning appointments, have a 1pm so suspect will be doubly higher than I thought I was - the scale and the time of day... I guess it is what it is!
I started spin classes last week and I do feel like they have kick-started me a little bit - anybody else spin?

Im all over the place this month I started back going to the gym for the last month i have been walking and jogging outside so now that I am back to my regular routine with weights and all i was up a little and down a little lol today I wi at 230.2 my goal for month end is 225 i still think its reachable! I have to get out of the 220s and 2teens before I feel like I am really progressing. My lowest was 217 in march I really need to exceed my lowest its been hard but I know i can do it!!!!!!!! We all CAN

I don't think 5 lbs is that big a difference if you weigh in the morning at home before eating or drinking anything and with no clothes on vs. at the doctor's office later in the day, fully dressed and having eating breakfast and lunch. That can easily be 5-7 lbs for many people.

I got out of them once, I will get out of them again. Every 10 lbs down now is a goal for me. Just get me to the next number group. I want into the teens. Can I hear a 19? Hallelujah! After that, it'll be get me to the 100's. This is so depressing to have to be doing again, since I just did it about 2 years ago. I guess my life became a mess that I had no control over and eating was the only thing I had. I'm doing better now and am getting on with my life. Out of the 220's!

I had a couple of small gains in the last couple of weeks (1.0 and 1.6), though the second one at least I was feeling very puffy and bloated so didn't figure that gain would last long. I was hoping to just lose enough to clear both gains for the week, ended up losing 8.4 this week though.

The past couple of days the scale has been dipping into the 229s, and I've started thinking about onederland. It's still a ways off but for the first time it FEELS attainable, not like some far off possibility.

OMG - onederland! That's awesome for you that it seems within reach - I was 236 this morning and it feels so far away... I am proud of myself for one thing though - we are sleeping in the basement because of the hurricane heading our way and I made sure to get myself some low carb/low cal perishables (turkey pepperoni, tuna, etc) My kids have all kinds of junk food and I made mac and cheese and blondies etc for them, but I'm going to try to stay strong :)

I feel like a million bucks today. On a normal day when my gym buddy (my mom) would opt out of going for the day, then I would too. Today I didnt. And I pushed myself on the elliptical. 35 minutes later I was drenched. What a great feeling! I also am proud of myself today at lunch. We ordered out for a co-workers birthday. I ate 1/2 of my order instead of all of it. Those two things are pretty significant victories for me. I'm really hoping and feeling like I'm turning a corner here. Now if Mr. Motivation can stay with me!

It's so nice to hear about everybody seeing onederland and working toward it - I wasn't focused on that until I saw other people in this thread writing about it and realized that it might be within reach. I was 234.8 today and hoping that's an indicator that my somewhat stuck scale has started moving down...
Going away for the weekend and made reservations at a sushi place and a seafood place hoping those will make things easy - checked out times for the exercise classes at the hotel... I'm a little worried about avoiding eating junk on the plane (5 hour flight) and other situations where we are grabbing food on the go, but thinking I might pick up a box of protein bars so I always have something on me. It does seem like more places are offering healthy choices, and I'm learning what choices are good at those kind of fast food/on the go places, so hopefully I will be OK!

Had a big setback. Got down to 220 and bounced right back to 230. :-( My problem is that I reward myself too much for my achievements and then get off track. Really disappointed that I gained that much back. Well, here's to starting all over again.

Have you checked your measurements? I bet thats whats happening. You are toning up and developing muscle. If you check your measurements I'm positive you'd be surprised to see that what you are doing is really working despite what the scale says!

On a brighter note, after introducing more snacks (almonds, raisins, fruit) and LOTS more water into my diet, plus a little more gym time, I was able to shed those last 3 pounds this past week- officially 239.2 today! Whoomp whoomp!!!! I hope you all are doing well- looking forward to busting through to the next decade already!!!

Have you tried INCREASING your calories? 1100 is pretty low for someone whoisn't sedentary- if you're working out you might need more... I usually do between 1200-1400. I was stuck on a stubborn plateau until I read an article somewhere about adding calories to help lose weight. How can that be? I thought... but it is so true! When you don't give your body the fuel (calories) it needs throughout the day (especially if you work out), it starts to hold on to every ounce of food you give it in preparation for starvation... so even though you think you are doing better by consuming as few calories as possible, you are actually doing more harm than good. I started by adding a piece of fruit mid-morning, and a handful of nuts and raisins mid-afternoon. I've learned a lot on this journey so far, but eating more was not something I thought I'd learn! Well I didn't make it to the gym last night but I did get my walk in this morning! 4 miles around the LSU lakes. Legs are a bit sore now and I may be a tad bit sunburned but it was just perfect weather. I did get a little sweat going but the breeze felt fantastic. Depending on how the legs feel, I may do it again tomorrow! Amazing how much more incentive you have when the weather actually behaves and this is definitely a nice change of pace from the gym! I may make this my weekend habit!

I'm still stalling, though I think the scale might start to move soon. I have been working out a ton -- walking every day, running some days, biking 10 miles twice a week, and rock climbing. I think I'm retaining some water because my muscles are recovering. We'll see what the scale shows at my official weigh-in tomorrow.

Hai everyone!! I was so frustrated because I hit a plateau at 234. The scale would jump down and then back to that number. Today I weighed myself and I'm at 229!!! I want to be in the 200s by the end of the year and this plateau was really a monkey wrench but I'm glad I didn't give up :)

OK - my scale, that I've been totally crazed about checking my weight on because it never seems accurate, is officially broken. I got on and freaked out because it said 356, then got on and enjoyed the momentary feeling of watching it read 123. I'm going to check things out at the gym scale tomorrow!

229.8 this afternoon! I'm so excited! I'm in the 220's now! I haven't been in the 220's since I was 13 years old. Almost 10 years it's been! Minus 1.3 pounds since Friday. Last week was a good weight loss week. 6.5 pounds.

But still doing OP with my eating and exercising even though I did skip yesterday. The scale seems to be stuck however! I've been hovering around 228-229 for the past 2 weeks and I'm ready to see some movement there again!

I just entered the 220s! I don't remember the last time I was in this weight range because I was afraid to weigh myself in high school. I don't think I'll reach my end-of-year goal of 199 because of how slowly I lose, but I might be able to make it to 210 lbs, which would mark the halfway point in my journey. :cb:

Finally I did it:carrot::carrot: I'm 239.0 I thought It was 239.4, step on the scale a dozen times and it stayed at 239.0 I'm so happy, Glad to finally be out of the 240's after being in a rut for 3 weeks ugh:( I starting drinking more water, started the 30 day shred program and biking 9 miles on my recumbent for 45 minutes did the trick:carrot:

I even was slightly off plan yesterday and the day before because we had to go out of town for my husbands Grandmother's funeral. Something I've learned is, if you have to go off plan, because lets face it sometime you will have to, you don't have to eat off plan foods like a mad maniac!

238.0 this morning- cant wait to see results from getting back on plan. I've worked WAY too hard to continue on this path of dieting self-destruction that I was on last week. Got up at 5:30 and went to the gym to run 2 miles and do some weights and practice my step routines. Feeling better already but ready for the scale to start moving again! Damn Pizza and lack of willpower... I decided that I am stronger than temptation and laziness this week, back to the grind working toward my goals!!! Hope everyone is doing well!

225.1 today. I was 226.1 on Wednesday. Slow week of weight-loss this week. I'm so tired I can barely think. I'm working so many hours at my new job plus all the work and homework that has to be done for my 5 college courses, plus I'm the president of a student organization and I'm doing almost all of the work for the organization. I'm so tired. so so so tired. I'm getting about 5 hours sleep which is decent, but not great. Didn't make it to work out ONCE this week. Not once. This hasn't happened since I joined the gym in April. I just haven't had the time this week at all.

So, my usually modus operandi is to work out 1-2 hours a day and eat reasonably healthy -- really limited sweets and about 1600-2000 calories per day. That makes me lose a half pound to a pound a week. But I thought I wanted a little bit of a jumpstart so I've been low-carbing for the past week and will do so next week. I've lost 3 lbs this week. I'm hoping to lose another pound this week and 3-4 next week. Then I'll go back to my original plan. I'm at 231 right now. That's 40 lbs down from my highest weight and when I break 230 I think I'll be the lowest weight I've been in about 18 years.

I never realized I gain weight around that ToM, but I gain about 2-3 lbs the day before my period. I was annoyed because I didn't know why I gained. I was behaving myself! After that, I ate at Subway, had cookies, and ate a candy bar all on the same day. Ugh. Next day, I was down again. Whenever I gain more than a pound, I get discouraged and temporarily throw in the towel. It's never more than a day before I'm back on track, but it's a behavior I'll have to correct.

Anyway, I'm back down again. I only need two and a half more pounds before I've reached one of my mini goals. At 224 lbs, I'll have lost 20% of my original body weight! I expect the 220s to go slower than the 230s, but I'm encouraged to already be at 226.5 lbs.

I'm also excited that I found a bunch of SBD friendly recipes in a Bon Appetit cookbook. I can't wait to try them. :D

For your veggie dishes is it only veggies or can you have a combo of items? I have a few staples I always turn to for lunch, but they involve Veggies and other proteins.

It's a combo of foods for lunch, but mostly veggies. I'm to have one serving of dairy, 1/2 serving protein, 1 serving grain and 2 veggies - about one full cup of veggies, or two whole packed cups of salad. I'm SO not a veggie lover - finding it hard to get all my servings in and still kind of enjoy it... What are your lunch staples?

I haven't been weighed in a while - broken scale that I still haven't replaced - and am a little nervous about getting weighed at the doctor's office even though I have been OP and exercising a lot. I just realized that I didn't take a day off (I'd been aiming for 5-6 days a week) and haven't missed a day in the last 10 days... Still nervous though :)

Still lingering around here...lol! WI @ 231.0 this morning- staying strong and trying to get firmly into the 220's by the weekend- wedding dress shopping on Saturday :-/ not really ready for this, but I have no choice- need to start making these decisions!

Aishah- I am right there with you- complete disbelief at how far I have come and the fact that there will be a "1" in the beginning of my weight for the first time in at least 7 years! :) Congrats on moving out of the thread- hope to join you again very soon!!!

Hello everyone I have been MIA school and work has me tangled up. I havent really worked out or been watching what I eat lately I am 237 All together since march I have gained 20lbs:( I need to get back on plan and really remember why Im doing this. It seems that my eating has been totally off I have been eating like a pig. I hope that coming back on more often will help. I hope I can get my butt back in the game so that come next summer I will see some progress. This always happens to me I gain I lose I gain I lose but I never get below 217 I need to surpass that goal!

So relieved - went to OB/GYN and got on doctor's scale - 229. Haven't lost as much weight as usual this month - maybe it's slowing down - but still losing. Hadn't been there in a year so she had to look twice at my numbers :)

After being stuck at 225 for almost a week I'm down to 223.5 this morning. You guys are great but I'm so ready to be out of the 220s. I haven't weighed less than this in over 5 years. I WILL be less than 200 by the new year. I'm determined to make it happen.

I think I'm starting to psyche myself out a bit. I've not been below the weight I'm at for more than 16 years. I'm kind of at a "beyond this place there be dragons" spot. I find myself wanting to slow down my progress to the next goal, give myself an excuse to not work on weight loss through the holidays, etc.

I think partly that I remember what it's like to be about 155 -185 and that goal seems really far away and also associated with someone kind of foreign to me -- my high school self. And I don't really have a vision of what it is like to be 185-230 or so. I gained weight really quickly due to illness and it's as if I went from the low weight to the high weight overnight. What will 215 feel like? Is it better than where I am now? Will I feel stronger or more attractive or healthier?

@Defenestrator- I think I know what you mean- 249 was that number for me at first. I got down to 250-252 about five seperate times and always seemed to have a block getting any lower. It was like after that point, the weight loss was real and I had some weird block about thinking it was impossible to do more so I would just stop. Maybe you could try making your goal for the next bit to stay on your eating and exercise plan- the pounds should still keep moving but your focus would be on being healthy instead of losing weight? Don't know if it would help you but it helped me a bit.

Weighed in at 237.8! Big whoosh the last three days after a couple weeks of slower loss... so excited! Off to put a 4th 10 pound bead on the keychain I carry around!

@Matilda- aren't fluctuations annoying??? I got up to 240 as well so I hope to get as low as you are now soon!

Had a great week on plan- its so much easier on weekdays when I pack my lunch and don't get too tempted by going out. This weekend will be interesting for me- I love decorating cakes and I'm hosting a baby shower tomorrow so I'm going to try to make a cute one for my cousin. Hopefully I will be able to refrain from tasting my creation! I also have to go out and get all the food that's expected at a shower and except for the veggie tray, very little of it will be on plan. I'm feeling much better about being back in the 230's (239.0 this morning) so hopefully that will be the motivation I need! Happy Friday to all!

I havent worked out in sometime but have been focusing on diet and I want to continue making it a priority. For some reason the 220s and 230s are always my HARDEST decades I go up and down and then once in the 2teens I get so overwelmed and its hard for me to keep losing grrrrr I need to get out the 230s and 220s and 2teens once and for all!!!!!

Sending good thoughts to everyone! I was in a crappy mood all day but when I got home I decided to get a work out in- I don't know why I always forget how much better I feel after working out! The same stress is still there but I feel so much more able to handle it. That plus jogging 1/2 mile straight without stopping for the first time today since elementary school really made me excited. Hope everyone else had a good day!

I'm going to jump right in. I was at 227.5 on wednesday and I weigh in every Wednesday. My original thanksgiving goal was 223 but I'm thinking I might move it to 220. It's crazy that i can even say that now.

I'm very pleased to report I FINALLY broke the 230 barrier and I'm blowing through the 220's so far.
Today I was at 225.6!
I've started tracking calories and I think that's really helping. I didn't realize just how many extra calories I was consuming with my snacking until I started tracking. Oops! :)

Thanksgiving is always the third Thursday in November. I'm not sure why, but it is!

236.2 this morning- I've been getting lots of cardio in the last week so I'm hoping that's enough to nudge me to 235 tomorrow... I'm ready for my whoosh!

I was feeling pretty frustrated yesterday wanting to eat stuff I haven't had for a while- I've been kind of stuck on the same weight for a while now and not seeing much of a difference. While I was shopping with a friend yesterday though out of the blue she told me I look smaller every time she sees me and how impressed she is. It was just the boost I needed... people don't usually say stuff so I assume they don't notice, but I realized it is noticeable and I need to keep going the right direction!

Weighed in at 227.2 today! I'm finding it so much easier to lose weight since I'm not on birth control like I was in 2010.

People really are so different - it's the complete opposite for me. Since being on the Pill consistently (once my doctor and I had figured out the best one for me) my weight loss has been easier- the biggest difference being the shrinking of my sweet tooth. Before the Pill the week before my P was a such a nightmare cravings wise that i'd undo all my good work for the previous 3 weeks.

I'm off on holiday for a fortnight today so, even though it's no my weigh day, i just wanted to note my weight at 232 and hope I don't need to bump back up to the 240s thread on my return *fingers crossed*

235.0 this morning... halfway though this decade! Hoping to be out of it by the end of the month especially since I've just started cardio and have been pretty good about getting it in every day.

Had a dream last night that I was running around everywhere trying to find a scale and each one I found was either broken, missing, or giving a wide range of numbers. Then I finally found a scale that worked but I'd already drank a liter of water and had breakfast so I was upset that the number would be off. I do weigh every morning but its not that big of a deal so apparently my subconscious has some scale issues my conscious isn't aware of? :p I just woke up shaking my head after that.

I was 232.6 this morning... had a spike after an unfortunate encounter with a bottle of wine but have pretty much been on plan everywhere else. Now time to get through Thanksgiving in one piece! We signed up for the Turkey Trot 5k on Thanksgiving morning so hopefully that will let me sample a few of the things I've really been looking forward to like stuffing and gravy. I've had a few major setbacks over the last two weeks. We had to have my cat put down and then Thanksgiving. Boy did I eat a lot! Then yesterday at the gym I managed to injure my calf somehow. Just waiting to get in the with doctor today to see what I did.
Still... I was at 225.4 today. I'll take it, all things considered!

Been bouncing around the same number for a week now but I've definitely seen that pattern of fast loss, small regain, and stay at that number for a bit. 229.4 this morning which made me happy... I'm really hoping for no more 230's! I'm so close to 50 pounds... I don't know why milestones always seem so hard to get to!

So happy to see everyone still here and posting especially since its December- I went to my cousin's for dinner the other night and even though she's really nice about cooking food I can eat, she had made mint chocolate chip cookies that were my absolute downfall last year... and then sent them home with me for my sister. Let's just say my sister didn't get nearly as many as were sent to her... oops! I sure paid with a sugar headache the next day though.

I don't think I am going to make my 2-teen goal by Jan 1, either. I am ok with that. I am glad to be back on track losing 1 lb a week. I am proud that I can start back up without quitting.

Been having a hard December- went three or four months with no trouble sticking to plan and the sugar of the month hit me like a train. Luckily my meals have still been good so all the extra sweets has caused no loss but no gain yet either. But 19 days at the same weight is really starting to bum me out. I'd like to be two pounds down for the month, so I'm going to get right back on track today. I've already had enough sweets in the past couple weeks for the entire next year!
