General chatter - What is the worst thing you have ever put into your body?

Im going to say that my worst dish i have ever eaten..had to be when someone served me bread that had been fried in bacon grease and then turned into a grilled cheese sandwich..There was so much bacon grease on it..it was grose! The only thing worse then that, had to be..when i was 15 years old..a friend and mine tried making cupcakes and homemade icing..i remember eating icing that was literally chunky butter mixed with icing sugar and vanilla...it was grose! It was like eating pure butter..i will never forget that..or how i sick i felt after that.. What is your worst dish you have ever put into your body?

I have eaten a LOT of horrible things, way too many to narrow down the worst! I'll just share the first item that came to mind when I read your question... Fried Nutella sandwich. Yup, two slices of bread slathered with butter and stuffed with chocolaty goodness. *shakes head at self*

Fat-free cheddar cheese. Omg. It feels and tastes like plastic, but with an awful smell added. If you melt it and then it cools and hardens again it's almost impossible to bite through. It's frightening.

Probably the disco fries at the B-Po Diner back in CT.

Similar to poutine. A huge plate of greasy french fries drowned in fattening, lumpy brown gravy and piled with full fat mozzarella cheese. Don't forget to smother in ketchup and you've got disco fries.

It was a mountain of crap foods.

I've also eaten plenty of stuff that is awful for me but tasted wonderful and I wouldn't regret for a minute. :)

I made a bacon-maple cheesecake recently, with a crust made of gluten-free ginger snaps. It was fantastic, but breaks almost any diet rule of any plan you might follow, haha.

In my hometown, one of our specialties is called the "garbage plate." You fill half a plate with home fries and the other half with macaroni salad... top it with two burgers... then slather on "hot sauce" (the meat-based stuff, sorta like chili), mustard, and onions. Serve with bread, of course, because that isn't enough food already. ;) Best eaten at 3am while incredibly intoxicated.

The Lemon Chicken thing at Houlihan's. I don't normally eat there, I don't know what the "safe" for me is. I don't even know if it is still there or not. We wer einvited out with friends for dinner. So I was guessing based on grilled chicken-ness and the side of asparagus and lemon caper noodle shouldn't be too bad. I packed up half right away.

And then I got SICK like crazy, went home, and found out that even HALF the dang thing was a blood sugar bomb --- too many calories at once. Ugh. Faint, wacky feeling -- blood sugar roller coaster nightmare.

I threw it out and have not eaten there since.

That's why I stick to restaurants I already know. :P

PIEROGIS! I went to Cleveland over Thanksgiving one year with my chubby chaser, afraid I'd leave him if I lost weight, boyfriend and we went to this fantastic, indoor farmers market. He purchased dozens upon dozens upon dozens (seriously) of pierogis for us....I mean....me. They were stuffed with EVERYTHING. Cheese and bacon, ruben stuffed one's, potatoes, etc. Not a veggie in site. We packed them up and we....I mean I, ate them for weeks afterwards. I'd pan fry them in butter and carmalized the outside.

And now the thought of shoving one into my mouth makes me gag. I can't even eat chinese dumplings because they are too similar in size and shape.

Now, if you were looking for something that was gross I'm going to go with ostrich burgers. Fudruckers (sp?) used to serve them up. I think it was a mind over matter thing.

A huge mexican torta filled with pork, beef, chorizo, a fried egg, and cheese. I could feel my arteries hardening before I even bit into that thing. I'm sure one bite alone was like 500 calories. The restaurant I got it from was later featured on the show man v food. Yeah. It was that bad.

Probably my mother's hamburger stew. She isn't generally a bad cook (though not a nutritious cook either!), it was a concoction she got from her mother in law because my father always craved it (having had it as a child all the time). Long story short, it doesn't look like the hamburger stews you might see pictures of online, full of veggies and other things. This was just hamburger and water, with some onions, salt, and pepper, boiled into a tasteless, grey-coloured gruel. Vile. We were a "eat your entire plate, no matter how oversized the portions were for a child" type family, so I ate it a lot, unfortunately for me.

Other than the previously mentioned body part (ugh, don't understand how guys can expect us to do that, it's just foul), I think the worst was my birthday dinner last year. I made peanut butter and chocolate stuffed french toast, which was pretty much a fried french toast sandwich with peanut butter and chocolate chips, and an entire tiramisu. The tiramisu was almost worth it, lol. I love that stuff.

We originate from the same city! My husband ate one the night before our wedding, lol. Bloomin' Onion from Outback.

I agree and used to LOVE it!!!

I also ate an entire bag of onion rings once...the ones that say like 4 servings. I havent since.

There is also a hoagie over at one of the pizza places called a "Mighty Mouse". It's a hoagie roll, swiss, american, and provolone (stuffed) with tomato, onions, oil and vinegar, and lots of mayo. It's disgusting, but I used to think it was soooo good.

Cocaine and ecstasy at the same time, not smart!

As for food, I don't even know where to begin. I've eaten lots of unhealthy things but enjoyed most of them. The most disgusting food I've eaten was boiled chicken feet at a Chinese buffet that was later closed down for breaking health code violations. It was so bad I almost barfed the moment I took my first bite.

Hahaha, I so thought this when I was reading the thread! I probably regret that one more than any food I've ever put in my body. So glad to see someone thinks like I do :)

Food-wise, there's a lot of stuff that in hindsight I should never have put in my body. Definitely tried a deep fried snickers bar at a fair once. Then there was the time my parents put me on Atkins and I, being quite the little gourmet chef, whipped up a big pan of hollandaise sauce and poured it all over 3 eggs. Talk about overload.

Spicy curly fries + ground beef + liquicheese + sour cream + fried onions + hot sauce + hot peppers then add bacon on top.

I tell you...if you love your diegestive system. Do not eat.

living in scotland we deep fry everything. mars bars, sausages, pizza (yes, pizza.) there is this thing called a fritter supper (a fritter with chips aka fries) the fritter is a giant slice of potato deep fried. so basically chips with another giant chip. lovely.
and our local indian take away does this thing called a munchy box, its a 14inch pizza box filled with chips, onion rings, bhajis, pakora, donner, chicken, lamb, fried mushrooms, chili sauce, oh, and a wee bag of lettuce on the side.

I wish I knew the name of what ever made me so sick. At my old job we got free lunches, they weren't so bad most of the time they would bring something and have an alternative like a salad. But one day they brought indian food from a restaurant they've never ordered from before. Don't get me wrong, some indian food is delishh, but that time... I ate at least 5 total Fat Sandwiches in College.

Always the Fat B*tch

A cheese steak with fried mozzarella sticks, a chicken tender, ketchup, mayo and French fries. Sounds gross, but it is orgasmicly good. I remember one particularly drunk night a neighbor and I got them and he exclaimed "this is better than sex" and I agreed. They must pack at least 1000 calories each.

It's sad that this is making me hungry

Probably not the worst but one that comes to mind is a "large" Arby's Italian Sandwich Value Meal (comes with large soda and large curly fries).

I would then ask for extra horsey sauce (mayonnaise + horseradish) and proceed to use about 2-3 packets on the sandwich. I'd also often finish with a chocolate turnover. I think I looked it up one time and the whole meal came to about 1500 calories.

Edited to add - and some of the things on this thread are definitely making me hungry.. haha. I think I may splurge and go to Jimmy Johns - get a no mayo Pepes for 400 calories...
