Well, I had initially mistaken my height in my BMI formula and unbeknownst to me, I was officially NO LONGER morbidly obese as of Saturday, July 16, 2011!

Where do you go find that out?

Well, there are BMI charts everywhere but they all just have whole inches for the height. In the BMI formula, your height is actually squared so I prefer to use the calculator because it's gives you a more precise number.

The CDC calculator is here: http://www.cdc.gov/healthyweight/assessing/bmi/adult_bmi/english_bmi_calculator/bmi_calculator.html

But the formula, if you want to do it on your own is: weight (lb) / [height (in)]2 x 703 (that 2 after height is to square it)

Great news! Wait until the day you are simply "overweight" and see how long you do the happy dance. Who would have ever thought that such news would elate us?

Congrats on an amazing milestone!

I did the calculation, and I am "morbidly obese." Got a nice little message, too. **sigh** Hopefully, I won't be too far behind you.

With a BMI of 40+ you have an extremely high risk of weight-related disease and premature death. Indeed, you may have already been suffering from a weight-related condition. For the sake of your health it is very important to see your doctor and get specialists help for your condition.

Maybe there are totally clueless morbidly obese folks out there, but c'mon, doesn't the Federal government think we realize it isn't optimal for our body's systems to be carrying around an extra person or more of fat?
