So, I'm just about moved back home, getting my CDL straightened out and applying for jobs. Anyhooooooo, a couple of them involve welding(I've done a bit of it in the past and really liked it), so I'm at this mini-trade show and I see a welding helmet. It is done up like the bomber flyers in WWII did with the shapely little hottie on the nose of the plane and the name Arc Angel. Soooooo, if I do go into welding I think I'm gonna change my online identity to ArcAngel. Whatcha think, huh huh, whatchall think of that???

With time, women gain weight because we accumulate so much information & wisdom in our heads that when there is no more room, it distributes out to the rest of our bodies. So, we aren't heavy, we are enormously cultured, educated & happy. Beginning today, when I look at my butt in the mirror I will think, "Good grief look how smart I am, I must be a genius!" ~

Good grief! Bump, Bump, Bump
That's the sounds of the 15's while they hittin' in my trunk
Said Bump, Bump, Bump
We're the Kottonmouth Kings and we don't give a f---
Then the intellectual side kicks in.It's the unpolitical, psychoanalytical
Undefeated champ that'll stick you fool
My style is crazy not wooka waaka lazy
If you chill with me I'll be sure to... (blaze thee)
It's about time to compute your math
Cuz my beats keep bumpin' like a seismograph
And like Mickey Mantle, I can switch my stance
I'm a supercharged baller that's electrically enhanced

Reminds me of The Rodeo Song which was played on a local country radio station several years ago. Boy, did their switchboard light up! Rural Eastern Ontario was not ready for it but Harry and I nearly rolled on the floor with laughter. The DJ got fired later that month.

Well it's forty below
And I don't give a ****
Got a heater in my truck
And I'm off to the rodeo
It's an allamande left
And allamande right
....etc.

I guess as a MOD, I could get busted for posting this. Ask me if I care. Google it if you want more delightful info.

For those rhyme'ically challenged,
That's the sounds of the 15's while they hittin' in my trunk

funk rhymes with trunk.

For those of you thinking it was a naughty word, remember that Zan wouldn't have suggested the song if it were.

....the temperature drops below 95 F (35 C) and you feel a little chilly.

....you discover that in July it only takes two fingers to steer your car.

....you discover that you can get sunburned through your car window.

....you actually burn your hand opening the car door.

....your biggest bicycle wreck fear is, "What if I get knocked out and end up lying on the pavement and cook to death"?

....you realize that asphalt has a liquid stage.

....the cows are giving evaporated milk.

Thanks BARGOO ~ it was a bit of a family affair. My wife, sister and one of her daughters and grandson, our uncle and our church team met up for the survivor and caretaker lap to begin the relay. Angie was even asked to lead the crowd in yoga stretches at the last minute because the "usual" jazzercise gal didn't show up....

it was the first time I saw my "trophy wife" turn into a rock star yoga instructor with less than 2 minutes notice!

My sis and one of her daughters walked the midnight to 2am shift then Angie and I, her daughter and her dad's fiancee, another niece of ours and herboyfriend walked the 2-4 relay...we all got 6+ miles!

GRANDdaughter just left ....she has been here since noon yesterday for her first ever sleep-over at Nonni's and Grandpa's house....awesome!!

And only one :tantrum: in the 28 hr. period :)

She :cheer3: cheered up a bit when I made a computer deposit into her account ;)

Bargoo, they are AGIL and I'm very pleased. I tried them out at lunch yesterday and could follow all the conversations without their turning into an auditory mish-mash. I can also answer my cell in the car which is a plus now that we are not allowed to talk on cells in a moving vehicle. I'm still discovering new sounds today - some good and some bad. Prep Time: 30 minutes (ready in 3 hours 30 minutes) - Yield: 9 (1 1/2-cup) servings

_ (16-ounce) package dried navy beans, sorted, rinsed
_ quarts (8 cups) water
_ (1/2 pound) ham shank
_ cup chopped onions
___ cup chopped fresh parsley
_ teaspoon salt

Duh!

:getwell: Oh my Ruth! How did that happen?

The navy bean soup recipe is my favorite one, a few twists with the nutmeg....but as I mentioned I cut it in half. I add a lot more potato flakes too...at least 3 cups, maybe more, making it pretty thick. I start with 2 cups and then just keep adding until I get it right for me. I also usually add more carrots, celery and onion too.

It was awesome yesterday with just me and the kid

But I gotta say, if she refuses to take her afternoon nap...

I might disappear from the radar screen for a few days. Moving Monday and changing internet providers , along with cable and telephone. I have had 3 different providers , Earthlink could not provide High Speed at my new address so decided it would be a good time to bundle all 3 as long as I was going to change. AT&T cannot come out until the 15th. I will have my cell phone but no land line, tv or internet.

Just don't mention my name in the Baskin And Robbins in Davis....

Let's just say it involved nuns and a lot of kids.....

And YES....I instigated the whole thing.....:D

so, one guy...one guy's mistake...turns off my power, along with about 4 million others...wow!

It was just like campin' here!

A nice evening to BBQ burgers and sit outside with candles and lanterns reading the paper, Angie doing crossword puzzles....

A minor inconvenience turned into a nice evening with my wife.

I got nutin' to do right now since my son has decided to let his mother watch that GRANDkid today while he and his wife, my daughter and her husband and a bunch of friends take in the USC game.....

I dunno...pretty sure I could have babysat....did it 4 days this week all by myself and watched her for an hour yesterday when Angie and I visited her.

I may as well go to church later and help set up for the 911 BBQ we have every year now...drawing well over 500 people.

I was at Church too of course. Very moving service.

Came home and managed to get the darned pressure washer going. Should have changed out of my Church clothes first but the neighbours did get a good laugh!

White blouses are OK - it's white shoes that are out!
