I made it through preconditioning losing 4 pounds and was very excited to continue on. I'm on the 4 day menu and freaking out a bit worried I'll be hungry. Yesterday they told me I should only count "clear" water as my 64 oz. (not water with a slice of lemon, crystal light, diet soda) Any advice that would help me along the way would be great. Thanks so much. I'm looking forward to a leaner body! I know I can do it.

Welcome, Brandy! Congrats on the 4 pounds. That's wonderful!!!

No need to freak out. It will be fine. Many of us have that fear of being hungry when first starting, but then we find out, it's actually a lot of food. When you start eating more nutritious food, instead of empty calories, it's a lot more satisfying. Sometimes ladies even complain it's too much. The HNS help too. The protein is what gives you the full feeling so you don't feel hungry.

64 oz. is the minimum amount of water you should be drinking. What my counselor told me was take your weight, divide it in half, and that's how much water you should be drinking in ounces. That also helps you too feel full. Definitely an incentive to lose weight. If you exercise, then you should add to that amount.

Any questions you may have, feel free to ask. And feel free to jump into our July thread. The ladies here are an amazing support system when you can't talk to a counselor. It's definitely helped me. Good luck!!!!

(Does that mean just "plain" water? Like the water from the HSN's don't count either? Just curious.) Thanks again.

Welcome to the program! I've been on for two weeks now. My counselors said that we cannot count the HNS water.

Yup, plain old H2O. Your HNS's are in addition to the water. See why you won't be hungry? But here's the thing. The water is vital in your weight loss. Google "water and weight loss" and it will give you thousands of websites of the benefits of it. When you read some of them, you'll realize, 64 oz. isn't that much and it may want you to drink even more.

At my center, they always say .. "If you wouldn't take a shower in it, then it doesn't count as water."

And remember to be consistent with your water intake. You should stay within 4-8oz each day. So if you drink 100oz one day but then 90oz the next day, your body could go into dehydration mode.

I like to get the liter bottles of water and just refill them. Helps me stay on track.

Good luck!

I've been drinking between 100 and 120 ounces a day. Here's what works for me on weekdays.. weekends, I just wing it:

I have a 20oz Rubbermaid cup with a "drinking" lid. As soon as I wake up, I fill it up. I drink that with breakfast and refill it. Then I make sure I drink that 20oz before lunch, so that I refill it with nice, cold water to go with lunch. When I go back to work after lunch, I refill it again and make sure it's empty when I leave work at 5:00. If I feel like it at that point, I'll go ahead and refill it on my way out, or wait until I get home and drink my last 20oz with supper.

Thanks for all the advice. You are right. I'm not really hungry. The worst for me on the yellow menu is lunch time. That salad is so huge! I'm getting my water and WI tomorrow.

I purchased a Britta bottle which is 20oz and I have an alarm that goes off 5 times per day to try and keep me around 100 oz per day. It seems to be working for me and if I have to get tap water its not so nasty!!
CONGRATS ON THE 4 LBS!!! KEEP IT UP
