Hello all! I'm Maria, I'm 23, and I'm going on a diet... tomorrow. (Off to a great start, haha!)
In all seriousness though, I've struggled with my weight most of my life, and during my last two years in college, I gained 25 pounds because I neglected my body and didn't watch what I was eating. Since graduating, I've halfheartedly followed diet plans, most recently Weight Watchers, but I veered off course after hitting the inevitable weight loss plateau. But not this time!
This morning, I heard about the Dukan Diet, and I've decided that this is the one. Not just because it's all the rage lately, but because I think it offers the kick start I need to get motivated so that I actually complete it. Tonight I'm going grocery shopping for all my proteins so I can begin the Attack phase tomorrow.
Even though losing weight is an important goal for me, my main goal is to get to a better place mentally. Since finishing college, I've been in a major funk (hello, quarter life crisis!) and my self-esteem is at an all-time low, so I'm hoping that taking care of myself and focusing on my health will help boost my confidence.
