If you're like me, you often miss these "beginning of the month" challenges, so I figured I'd start one for the middle of the month! I could even keep this thread organized with each person's goal weight for the challenge, and with updates of how much was lost! Ideally you'd post once a week or so, with a final weigh-in on the fifteenth! So who's with me?

Good Morning Girls,

I am so glad I joined this challenge. I needed something to keep me from straying. I was just hungry yesterday and did not feel like cooking and cleaning so I ate at two restaurants. Lunch was relatively high calorie fast food so at dinner I had a shrimp appetizer and a side salad. It worked. I wasn't starving. At least not last night but my stomach was growling this AM. Today I am attending a wedding that includes a sit down dinner. Yikes. I will have to be very good the rest of the week! I have another wedding in three weeks and I am hoping to lose a few pounds before then.

LGW-Congrats on the 16 pound weight loss. That is awesome! Keep Going.

mysticalcrayon-WooHoo! Happy Onederland Status!

I ate an incredible amount of calories yesterday and that was trying to be careful! Whhhhhyyyy do I do that? Today is a bright, shiny new day though and back to my structure. I missed getting to the grocery store yesterdy so I am eating some leftovers that are less than ideal but hopefully I can make up for it tonight. At least lunch does not include wine, champagne or cake like yesterday!

Well, despite trying my best to get on track over the weekend, my only real good day was Sunday. I knew that Saturday was going to be tough as dinner was at an old fashioned chuck wagon cook off, and I learned that they obviously served very high carb meals back then :-)
Yesterday was a good one and today is on track as well. But alas, on the scale this morning I showed no improvements. Hopefully next week will ring a little bit better for me.

TERAPET Haha that sounds like an awesome lunch!!! Weight loss/maintenance is a journey that never ends right - so a few days where you didn't do so well is not going to make a difference in the main scheme of things :P

Lovehopefaith: that is exactly what I was thinking :-) If my weight loss trend is correct I should expect a 1.2 drop in the next day or so...we'll see. BTW you are on a great downward trend....keep it up!

No new weigh in yet - waiting until Friday. I've been hit and miss lately with my eating. I do good all day until right before dinner...and then I just lose it. I tell myself "I've done so good today...I can have this/that." And then in the morning I come back to my senses. So frustrating. I've been keeping up with my workouts though, thank god for that.

lluvyblu-Consistent overeating in the evening is no fun. I've been there. Just keep working on it. It is so worth it.

I had a great day yesterday. I stayed under 1600 calories and finished back to back weight training/zumba classes at the y. So far, so good today.

Yes - But i just started really focusing in the last week ish - so it's just that initial "omg you're not feeding me crap im going to drop some weight/water" loss ;)

Good morning everyone. I don't have any losses to report, but I have been working out every day this week and have been eating quite reasonably. Hopefully next week I can show some losses :D.
I'm going to a birthday party this weekend and I've already told my boyfriend to make sure I don't have any cake/ice cream. I'm still nervous though. Does anyone have any tips for surviving a day surrounded by bad-for-you food?

Well, weigh in day was today. Spent a week without getting on the scale and really, really hoped to see a difference. I did, but it was the wrong way. I mean really? 8 days OP, no cheating, plenty of water, + started running and I gained?! I hate the scale.

peaches...running maybe you gained some muscle..Dont get depressed and stop i have done that numerous times sometimes you gain lbs from gaining muscle and then eventually will loose from the fat remember muscle weighs more than fat try to look at the bigger picture your body will change and look better when muscle replaces fat :) hugs! smile!

Thank you so much! I definitely miss the days of being able to run a little, workout a little and cut back a little and lose ten lbs. Geez, getting older sucks!
I didnt think that it was possible to gain muscle after one run, but I can see my muscles holding water weight because of it. Trying to decide right now whether to throw the scale away and never look at it again or weigh myself daily as I have in the past to see patterns. hmmmm.

Whatever you decide, I agree, don't give up! Your muscles will probably stop holding water weight so much soon. I know I get a lot of water bloat sometimes.

Peaches-Try not to get sad about results in such a short period. It takes awhile to make real progress. As long as you stick with a good plan, the weight loss will show up eventually. I like to eat so most of my weight came off in 1/2 to maybe 1 pound increments. It all adds up.

Speaking of loving to eat, I ate a bit too much this weekend and it showed on the scale this morning. Today went great though. I managed to stay under 1700 calories. That's more like it.

You guys are awesome. Thank you for the encouraging words. I am definitely discouraged at the # on the scale today but am not going to let it get me down. I still stayed OP today and do not plan on wavering :-) I do think that I will start weighing every day though to see fluctuations and changes. Took a nice hike around one of the State Parks here in the area yesterday. Stayed OP, overall feeling very good. And seeing tiny bits of progress on the scale each day. FINALLY! Hope it keeps up!

I weighed in today, and... 149.6! I hit my first mini-goal and am out of the 150s! :D I am excited beyond belief! It took me so long to escape the 150s, and now I'm never going back!

But I have a few business and personal trips coming up in September/October and want to feel I have made progress for those. Exciting and scary!

Thanks! My body seems to enjoy the more-veggies-less-bad-carbs-more-walking combo I've been doing!!

I walked 8 miles yesterday, though, and I was at 216.4 this morning, but I also had a baked potato with dinner last night, so its likely water!

I feel great, too!

Lol, it almost feels like in the beginning of the journey when you loose all that water weight really quickly, and you're like HECK! I should have done this forever ago! lol.

OK weighed in this morning, and down to 175.6!! I will take it! Not what I was hoping for but being that its that TOM I will take anything "under" that pesky # I saw earlier this week! So currently am down -.8 lbs. LOL. Shooting for under 175.0 by Monday.

As for me, weighed in at 148 today. I'm in a Halloween challenge, and I set my goal weight today... as my final goal weight! Sort of overwhelming, but I think it's doable!

Well I was not so good this weekend.Sigh but I could have been worse. Somehow that makes sense in my mixed up world. I am on my way down again. Tomorrow I leave for the wedding so it is unlikely I will back here before Monday. I am going to try to be good because I have another event the following weekend. I have to fit in my size 8 dress both weekends!

LGW - you're doing great! You're almost at the low end of your goal range! You can do it!

I slipped under 145 today, so I'm pretty excited! I'm losing weight a bit faster, now, so I may make my goal yet. We'll see.
