I'm currently at 166, 5 days postop so I'm a little bloated. I was 160 before surgery. I know my BMI says I need to lose at least 20lbs, but I'm not sure WHERE I can lose it from. I don't think I look my weight, and I'm having a little trouble determining how much more to lose. I'd be comfortable to be 150, but I'd still be 'overweight'. For my build, how much should I aim to lose? Links to pictures, in bra and panties, NSFW but not showing anything pornographic.
I'm not fishing for compliments or trying to get people to tell me how much to lose, I'm just very confused right now. I've had doctors tell me I need to be 115. BMI calculator says 130 to 140. I just don't know what would look right on my body for my build. Thanks for advice in advance.
Maybe you don't need to focus on a specific number on the scale to be your goal right now.
Perhaps right now you just keep your focus on healthier. Aim for 150 (forget about what the charts say). When you get to 150 reassess your situation.
Look at the size clothing you wear, and the amount of exercise you get, along with the types of foods you eat.
You don't -need- to have the end goal in mind, and I think it's perfectly okay to lose a few pounds and then determine at each point whether or not you need to lose more.
Thing is I'm at my original goal size (7/8) and my BP and heart rate are at athlete levels, along with perfect levels with bloodwork. That's why I'm so confused lol. I had been exercising 3x/week, and eating a balanced diet, lacking slightly in veggies. I'll try going to 150 and re-evaluating though. thank you.
In figuring out how much you want to weigh, I would focus more on yourself than medical information. What is your "personal thin" where you feel good about yourself. Alot of people lose weight and end up feeling great at an "overweight" weight. Its up to YOU.
Doctor's aren't ALWAYS right remember that and being 5'3 and your goal being 150 sounds good. Do what makes you happy, which gives you confidence and allows you to love yourself. Forget about the scale about the papers and remember you are doing this to be healthy and to stay active.
I know my BMI says I need to lose at least 20lbs, but I'm not sure WHERE I can lose it from.
You would lose it throughout your body... your arms, maybe boobs, belly, thighs, etc. would all thin out.
I agree about setting a small goal and reassessing then. It sounds like maybe you're satisfied with where you currently are? If that's the case, then just work to maintain! My initial goal was 138, then when I got close I realized I wasn't happy there and lowered it to 135, then 132, then 130 and now that I'm so close to 130 I'll be adjusting it to 128. Do what feels right to you!

The most inportant thing is your health. What is your blood pressure reading? If it is high you may want to lose a few more pounds, Equally important is how you feel . Do you have energy ? Are you comfortable with the way you look and feel ? It is Ok to adjust your goal weight as you go along.
mypinkpolkadot - I have no clue what my body composition is. I don't have access to anything to measure that :/
OhThePlaces - I just got implants so I know my breasts aren't going to lose any, haha. I guess what I meant is when I look at myself I don't really see any areas besides my thighs that hold a lot of fat still. I'm just not sure if they have 20lbs or more stored in them. I thought I would be like you.. lose some then set a lower goal.. but I feel like I'm going the opposite.. lose some and lessen my goal. It seems like it's going the wrong way.
bargoo - my BP if I've been running around doing errands is 120/76. My BP if I've been relaxing for a few hours is around 90/60. I just had surgery so my mom's been checking it quite frequently lol. And my resting HR is 68. Prior to surgery I had a ton of energy. My only problem that I have now is I'm not comfortable with my thighs. Those are actually the only thing keeping me out of going down another size.
I have this same issue and I definitely agree with mypinkpolkadot. Find out your body composition. They can do it at the gym; your doctor should be able to do it too. I just had mine done for the first time this week and it was such a revelation. Turns out my body fat % is much lower than BMI charts would say- I have heard this is true for people who exercise and have muscle. The trainer figured out how many pounds were 'lean mass' and how many were fat and this really helped me in thinking about my end goal. Whatever end goal you pick, it has to be something that makes you satisfied. You know your body best!
Viceral fat (the fat around your organs) may aco**** for some of the weight you could have left to lose. Let's say of the 20lbs you lose 50% is subcutaneous (under your skin) and 50% is viceral. Your mass will decrease by 20lbs but it may only look like you have lost 10.
I'm really not to sure of the science (evidently by my scatter brain post lol) but I think it may be best to just play it by sight, keep reevaluating yourself and you'll settle somewhere that is good for you
