Welcome to the SB board!

We will be happy to help you plan your menus. But if you want to participate int the board you need to hit the "reply" button instead of the "new thread button." We do all our discussion on one board each week. We'd love to have you come over and join us!

To get you started:

The main goal of Sugar Busters is to virtually eleminate refined sugar, refined flours, white potatoes, white rice, white pastas (e.g. refined starches) from your diet. You eat lean meats, fruit, veggies, dairy (without added sugars), legumes, whole grains, sweet potatoes, Whole wheat pasta (or 100% durum semolina pasta). You don't count calories or grams of anything. The authors of SugarBusters suggest that your food should fit nicely on a dinner plate without any hanging over the edges and without going back for seconds. If you do that you will probably be eating proper portions. We also try to limit our "starchy carbs" to two or three per day. That would be your whole wheat bread, sweet potatoes, pastas, oatmeals, etc.

If you haven't done so, I strongly suggest that you get a copy of the book and read it so that you will understand why this WOE helps you to lose weight.

I hope we see you on the board soon!

Susan

Hi, everyone,
I have just read Sugars Busters again, and am starting on the plan. I am a drop-out from the strictly low carb diet. I would do ok on them for about a week, then wham~!, I'd blow it by wanting a vegie, or a piece of fruit, etc. Also, I am very tired of counting carbs. The sugar busters plan makes more sense to me. I can use all the help I can get! Claudette

I saw the new Sugar Busters book in Walden Books this past weekend! It has a red cover this time, but other than that, it looks the same as the first edition.
