Hello all. I'm 20 years old, 150 pounds and have struggled with being overweight for the majority of my life. I've always wanted to lose weight but like many I lack the motivation to get started and the willpower to see any diets through. Now though, I have a looming motivation staring at me: my older sister's wedding. I just picked up my bridesmaid's dress on Friday... a size 12. The last time I ever remember feeling skinny was when I was a size 3, back in middle school. Now I feel I could be content with a size 4/5, but for now I strive to look good in the darned dress. The other bridesmaids are sizes 4 and below, so I definitely have the motivation of wanting to look good standing up with my sister and in the photos. I have until November to reach my goal and I'm hoping this forum will give me even more motivation and support.

I definitely can relate. My best friend is getting married in about one year from now, and that's my major goal. Even though you have a short amount of time, you can still shed some pounds! Maybe not too many though because they can only take a dress in so much. Good luck!
