I joined 3FC seriously on 1/1/11, have lost 60 lbs./25%, and have assembled a platoon, a group determined to give 110% every day to achieving their weight loss goal. Some of the ladies nicknamed me Sarge, so Sarge it is!

--Please join if you're serious about dropping pounds and melting your BUTT-er (that's a salute to one of our troops) and have a sense of humor!

--Please join if you want daily motivation to achieve your goal. Sarge has plenty of time to keep an eye on you!

--Please join if you want Sarge to scream in your face like Jillian Michaels on Biggest Loser because that's what you're gonna get!

--Please join if you understand the definition of challenge, "...a call to engage in a contest, fight, or competition," this is your life we're talking about!

--Don't join if you're gonna bring excuses!

--Don't join if your head isn't in it yet. We'll be here to embrace you with well-toned arms when you're ready.

--Don't join if you're overly sensitive to comments like "step away from the buffet!"

--Don't join if you want to discuss anything other than get this freaking weight off of me! Sarge is type A personality. Reading touchy-feely stuff makes Sarge's eyes bleed!

RULES: Simply make Sarge a promise each Sunday to lose a certain number of pounds the following week then DO IT! New Privates encouraged to join any Sunday!

WHO IS WITH ME?!?!?!? All are welcome (including men)...any age, any amount of weight to lose. Say "Yes, Count Me In Sarge!" Do it, you know you want to, then drop and give me 20 minutes of exercise!

Disclaimer: Sarge is not a doctor, a nutritionist, or personal trainer with any sort of real medical knowledge. Additionally, it is not my intention to poke fun at our armed forces. I salute the men & women protecting our country.

Whoa! It was like the voice of God - "You shalt not posteth any longer"

RMC - I work in medical marketing and research, so I write anything that might come up - articles for patient magazines, copy for patient handouts, copy for business-to-business materials, website copy, marketing copy, etc. Recently, I was also made producer for WebTv channels owned by the company I work for, so now I also do research and storyboarding for episodes. It's interesting work, definitely not what I thought I'd be doing with my journalism degree, but I actually really like it. I usually have a good few days run where I can just sit and write, and then I get a day thrown in where I can't write a coherent sentence much less anything else. Glad to meet another writer!!! :)

Sarge - The topic was Botox for migraines...can we put a pornographic veggie spin on that?

JayTee
06-16-2011, 08:53 PM
Pokey-- patients with ocular migraine describe the sensation in these ways: "I want to take a spoon and pull my eye out" or "My eye is popping out" or "Someone is pushing a finger in my eye." How about Botox...better than poking a zucchini in your eye! :)

OH MY, BIG BROTHER IS EVERYWHERE . . . LOLOLOL

Hopefully everyone will find this one . . .

Ok, did the 5 AM wake up . . . worked 6-2:30, came home, filled my H2O bottle and trekked 15 miles on the bike . . . it felt SOOOOOOOO GOOD!! By the way, How many calories do you count for eating BUGS???? I'm still a little congested and was breathing through my mouth and OOOOOPS . . . in pops a BUG . . . Spppt, Spppt, bleh . . . can I count it as protein ???? LOLOLOL

Dumplin: :welcome3: you an hang out until Sunday and then make a pledge :D

I can't remember who was asking about intense/short workouts, BUT 30-day shred is pretty intense AND you do the warm-up, workout & the cool-down in about 25 minutes . . . There are 3 levels, each of course increasing in intensity . . . oh yea, it will MELT YOUR BUTT-er!!!

Pokey: I have no idea what to do with Botox for Migraines :?: :dizzy:

OK, I can't remember much more without pulling the thread up . . . <sigh>

OK, tomorrow, 5AM wake-up call again, but done at 2:30 and then off to a SUPER SECRET MISSION AT A BUTT-ER MELTING HIDE-A-WAY . . . not sure if I'll be able to post . . . so check-in/pledge may be on Monday

Hopefully all the troops will find their way here . . .

Oh, I went to check on the garden today and pulled 2, yes TWO BUTT NAKED RADISHES out of the ground and I ate one of them for supper :)

Reporting for duty, Sarge!

I always thought when a thread hit 500, it automatically locked, preventing additional posts. Who knew there was actually someone watching? Kind of creepy, but ok.

MadamButterfly, thanks for the 30DS reminder. I sold my 30DS dvd during the same tag sale at which I sold my bike.

pokeycactus - sounds like interesting stuff. I think Sarge missed her calling - love the new tag!

ETA: Just took a peek and found 30DS is offered free On Demand this month, along with some other JM workouts. I'll order another 30DS DVD, but at least I can get started.

RMC--When you mentioned it was weird that there was someone actually watching, consider our threads typically get over 5,000 views every two weeks!!! At least we're popular in cyberspace!

MadamB--"Super Secret Butt-er Meltin Hideaway" this weekend ... do tell!

rmc9142 - In response to your question about exercise that gets results... I found walking and hiking to help with weight loss (as expected), but when I started trail running, it really slimmed my hips! My hips were stubbornly holding on to their girth and I thought I would never reduce their size! It must be all the hills...

I decided to change things up by doing the elliptical tonight. It felt like I was working just as hard as I do on the treadmill, but when I plugged in my armband monitor it showed a ton less time in the "vigorous" range then I had the last 2 days. So I stuck it back on, got on the treadmill and knocked out another 20 minutes to meet my daily "vigorous exercise" goal. Even though no one but me will ever see the graphs, I can't stand the thought of falling short of the goal line. This little gadget is so motivating!

GOOD MORNING PLATOON!!!!!

Happy Friday! It's sales meeting day at work so I won't have time to go get on the treadmill at lunch. The salesfolks will be surrounding my desk asking me questions all day. They also feed us on sales meeting Fridays. Hmmm...Friday....Fry Day....fried food upstairs at noon day. sheesh! The office is trying to sabogate me! Pass me the fruit tray!!!!! Avoid the fried temptation! They had breakfast for us too. I avoided the fatty bacon and sausage and stuck with the fresh fruit, lowfat vanilla yogurt, an egg biscuit, and orange juice.

This weekend is going to be a tough one. It's our anniversary and we are already planning a trip to Red Lobster for dinner on Sunday night. Tonight we're going to a biker bar to see my dad's band play...and there will probably be drinking and eating of the bar food while there. And Saturday night we're getting together at my mom's house for gyoza (a Japanese dish...very yummy but not so healthy because it's fried but she hasn't made it in 10 years). So I am anticipating a....gain this week because of all of the celebrating and partying in my plans.

JayTee

Courtney, don't go into this weekend anticipating a gain! That's a sure fire way to get off track and off plan. Yes, you should be able to celebrate and have fun but why do you have to drink and eat the bar food at the biker bar? Why not stick to just a couple of gyoza and bring along a healthy dish to share with everyone? Why not face the weekend with a plan to fit in extra workouts to balance against the extra/unhealthier food? You're missing today's lunch workout because of work duties, but what are you going to do to make up for that?

Anticipating weight gain instead of planning to enjoy yourself and manage the consequences makes peanutt's eyes bleed. ;)

I want to see the graph--:D

:D Tried to post it for you but it wouldn't copy, so I'll describe it. It's a box with this big fat line across the middle, and if your bar is above the line you feel like a winner, and if your bar is below the line you feel like a lazy turd. Hence the motivation to get off your butt and get above the line.

Sarge! Come stand on me! My weight is up again this morning, after an entire week of eating almost exactly 1600 calories a day, I'm at 206.4. Although, comparatively, I had a massive spike over last weekend for no reason at all and was at 209.6. So I guess I've lost since Monday morning, but still.

WHY is it so difficult to get out of the 200's? I have been stuck here for months, literally. I'm thinking if I don't start seeing a downward trend in the next few weeks, I'm going to schedule a doctor's appointment. Maybe something's wrong. Whatever it is, I just want to figure it out. I know that I just started the higher calorie thing on Monday, so I'm definitely going to give that a shot and let things ride for a bit.

I'm still working out A LOT. My clothes are fitting better (which makes noooooo sense at all). I'm happy unless I weigh myself. :D

Peanutt - Are you coming to Calgary? I was considering going to the Comicon too but I never know anybody geeky enough to go :-)

I completed C25k's W5D3 yesterday. Wooot!!!! 20 minutes running with no excuses! I quit like 10 times in my head but never really followed through with it. I wanted to see how far I can push myself and then the 20 minutes were over. YAAAYYY! I could have done another 10 I think. Isn't the body amazing? My reward after this? My belt is down to the next hole today. :-)) I am going pants shopping (again) this weekend!!!

JayTee

Pokey--I won't stand on you...I think you may be right to perhaps schedule a doc visit. It couldn't hurt and maybe there's an easy answer! The weekends are the HARDEST part. I think we all tend to let up on the weekends and then spend the next four days losing the same 2 pounds we had already lost. It's a vicious circle.

Josey--Another platoon member singing PANTS ON THE GROUND...PANTS ON THE GROUND...LOOK ATCHU WITH YOUR PANTS ON THE GROUND! WTG!

Peanutt--Nicely done on yet another week of LOSS! Have yourself a geeky good time!

peanutt and Sarge - You're both right. Why should I cave to the celebratory stuff and throw in the towel for the weekend? I shouldn't do that!!!! So...tonight I'll be the DD and drink water at the bar. I'll eat something beforehand (which will be cheaper anyway). I have some baked chicken that I made in the fridge at home and can have some okra & tomatoes with it. That will be tasty and healthier than bar food. And tomorrow night I'll eat more of the salad that my mom's making and less of the gyoza. Sunday...at the movies, NO POPCORN AND SODAS!!!!! That's a tough one, but if we're doing dinner after the movie we don't need drinks and popcorn ahead of time. And somehow I need to fit in some exercise this weekend!

Hey Sarge I need some help getting to Onderland. I have been wanting this for so long. I am at a stand still. I go the the gym 4 to 5 days a week. I know I could do better on the weekends. Got any advise. I am tuff I can take it bring it on Sarge !!!!!

pokeycactus
06-17-2011, 04:55 PM
Dumplin - You and I, my dear, we're in the same boat. I've been hovering around 206 for months.

Sarge would likely recommend exactly what he recommended to me: track EVERYTHING you eat for a week or two. This means EVERYTHING. In my case, I discovered that I wasn't eating enough (thanks Peanutt!). Cool it on the weekends - just don't eat it. Read above for what Sarge and Peanutt said to CourtneyDaisy re: weekend naughtiness!

I think the other thing Sarge would recommend is upping the intensity of your workouts. If you're walking five days a week, try jogging intervals. Add strength training. Add a class at your gym.

I'll challenge you to write down everything you eat next week - I'll do it with you if you want. We can PM or email our daily food back and forth if you need the accountability!

Most of all, don't give up! :)

JayTee
06-17-2011, 05:35 PM
Dumplin--Pokey is right on with the advice summary. I'm a calories in vs. calories out kind of person and things started clicking for me when I increased water, wrote every morsel of food down every day, and didn't leave the gym until I hit 1,000 calorie burn on my "machines" each day (treadmill & stairmaster). The most enlightening thing I found and I think Reso preaches the same thing, is finding your true BMR rate (how many calories your body uses each day if you don't do a thing) and then calculate how many calories you can consume to lose the number of pounds you want to lose each week. I see you have a fit day account. You can calculate all that info on that site. The other tinkering you might consider is the kinds of food that work best for you. Me, I don't do well with lots of carbs so while I don't eliminate them, if I have a choice I pick protein.

You can't rush what the body wants to do but you can try to give it a nudge!

I did promise some woosh and weight loss fairies...I'll try to send a few out later tonight!

Hope this helps!

Sarge - I still want you to stand on me. It's my new goal to be able to do wall squats with someone standing on my thighs. I'm a bridesmaid in a wedding next weekend with a bunch of skinny girls I've never met - you think one of them will stand on me if I ask nicely?

JayTee
06-17-2011, 06:32 PM
Pokey--I can just hear that conversation..."oh excuse me, might I impose on you to just hop up on my thighs for awhile. It's been a goal of mine to ..." You know, if you wait well into the reception with the booze flowing you might get some takers.

In the meantime...since Sarge was having fun posting Jillian Michaels images earlier I was thinking you all might enjoy this 30 second clip because it is truly all Sarge really cares about! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jpksp4B88xk&feature=related

Don't BLOW ALL YOUR HARD WORK on senseless weekend frivolity. You'll only regret it Monday morning.

I am still hurting from squats with a 12 pound kettlebell and sprint rotation. That was a nice (killer) exercise that all can do even without a gym.

I don't buy into the calories in/calories out theory. But, Sarge is correct you can't make significant change without pushing yourself.

Courtney - Way to turn around your mindset!!! You are going to do great this weekend!

Pokey - I agree about going to the doc if you don't start losing again... I was dieting a couple of years ago and measured every single bite of food that I ate and tracked my calorie burn with a HR monitor but no weigh loss for a month! It turned out that I had a gluten intolerance. Once I removed wheat from my diet, the pounds started falling off! But then I found all kinds of bad things to eat that don't have wheat, so here I am again trying to lose weight :o So, you never know what weird affliction may be holding you back!

Sarge - Thanks for the clip of Jillian Michaels - that really reminded me of a friend of mine from my teenage years :D

Welcome to the newbies! I new this week too! I love the hard work everyone is doing... It just makes me want to work even harder!

Today was just an hour walk, but I did tons of cleaning around the house and ate lots of fruits and veggies!

Hope everyone is ready for a great weekend :carrot:

Work was long and hard today, came home and felt like doing nothing, made myself walk extra distance today because of it, so at least 10 miles walking and 3 miles biking (13miles today) and (71.9 on the week so far).

Weight still hanging in there at 204, hopefully i see a decline over the next couple of days, if not i will just try again next week.

Glad someone said something about planning to over eat, it was all i could do to not say something.

JayTee : Yep calories in vs calories out, it's how i have lost near 200 pounds. Trouble with getting lighter is your BMR drops as well.

Another day, another to battle our bulge! Get out there and fight!

Reso-- Love your attitude! "...felt like doing nothing, made myself walk extra distance today because of it..." Thanks for passing that mental stamina on to some of our newcomers!

Sarati--You said you "hope to get out early" to run with your dogs. HOPE?!?!?!!? You WILL get out early!

DataGirl--An hour walk! Nice!

Courtney--I read your blog. Kudos on eating dinner first at home, but I want to know how you survived bar night. Hope your tiny inner-Sarge used a megaphone to scream "100 lbs.! 100lbs!" in your ear all night.

The scale is killing me right now. On Wed. I was 231.9 and today I am 236.6, that is a 4.7 pound gain.:?: I don't think it can be real. I have added more exercise this week and that number makes no sense. I am not too discouraged, I will keep going and hope for a loss soon.

Plan for next week.
Go back to eating large protein based breakfast. I skipped this for the last four days for two reasons. One I heard that exercising while fasting burns more calories and two it is hard to eat a large breakfast with coffee and the do a high intensity workout. So on CrossFit days I will eat my 2 eggs and no coffee, then come home and have a second breakfast meat or yogurt with coffee.

Take the Probotic and ezymes with my lunch meal. I have had trouble being regular.

5 Drink free days this week Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. I have been drinking too many calories this week. I would have stayed dry all week but, I will be attending (Comfest) a major music festival on the weekend. I was really hoping to be at an all time low by then, we will see.

I will keep logging my eating. Right now I have the last few days written down and will add the information to the Red Team Nutritional Journal later.

I got to go to work now. I could type a lot more but, this is a good start to moving forward.

Celrae--Don't get too discouraged! You're not alone in the battle against the scale. We will help you push through and the 5 day booze free pledge is an excellent beginning. A few of us have gone that route over the past few months and it really helped on the scale front. We were crabby, but lighter by 5pm cocktail hour on Fridays! :)

GOOD MORNING PLATOON!!!!

Pvt. Courtney is just dragging her lazy butt-er out of bed. :o I did well at the bar last night though Sarge! My husband didn't eat beforehand so we ordered philly nachos and 20 medium wings. I ate 3 wings and 6 nachos (with very small amounts of the toppings, not slathered in them like I usually do) and drank 3 glasses of water while there! WAY better than I was initially planning to do! And I sang with the band on a song. :) We had a great time but didn't get home until 2:40AM. Poor Nick (my husband) had to be at work by 7AM. He's whipped. I slept as long as the 3 year old would let me, though she kept trying to get me out of bed earlier. She started coming into our room at 6:30AM. I got up twice to get her a drink and turn on her TV in her room. But...she still brought a mess of toys into our room to play while I slept! LOL! Silly kid!

Today, I won't be on here much. Got lots to do! My father-in-law did the dishes last night and I have a mountain of laundry that needs to get done. As I said in my blog post, no more darn procrastinating! :D Time to get a move on!

Hope everyone has a productive, fun day and I'll check in with you all later!

Morning troops! Glad to see everyone is facing the weekend with great attitudes!

Courtney - Fantastic attitude adjustment! Before too long, you won't even have to consciously make those choices - it will just be second nature!

celrae - it stinks when the scale doesn't cooperate, especially when you really know that you've been doing all the right things. Don't get too down about it; just keep at it and use those crappy numbers as inspiration. And kudos for cutting back on the beverages. I like to unwind with a glass of wine myself and it was a bit of an adjustment, but I have to make every calorie count these days. Every now and then, I'll enjoy a glass (one or two, not the entire bottle), but I usually make it a spritzer w/ seltzer and lemon. It's refreshing and still feels like a treat. (And there's the psychology of the glass, if that makes any sense.)

Reso - I don't know everyone's story yet (when I have some time I'd like to read the older threads). I had no idea you've lost 200 lbs! The fact that you're still so dedicated (even after long, hard days at work) is real motivation for me.

envelope - good on you for using your kid-free time for a jog, rather than sleeping in! You rock!

Thanks for the vids Sarge. You are a great leader (and a little bit scary :D)

Already back from the gym. If you'd told me a couple of months ago that I would be setting my alarm for 6:45 on a Sat to get a workout in before a busy day, I would have laughed in your face. Now, I'd ask if you wanted to drag your lazy butt with me!

I'm worried that I'm not going to hit my pledge this week, so if I'm back early enough, I'm going to hit the gym again later. If not, Jillian and I will be spending some time together this evening.

Have a great day everyone.

You guys!! Guess what guess what guess what?!

I AM DOWN TO 203.8 THIS MORNING!!!!!

I'm finally losing weight again!!! :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot:

You guys can't even imagine the victory dancing going on in my house. I struggled and struggled last week to get back down to 204.4 and I know that number was a starved and dehydrated 204.4 because then I started the week back up to 209.8. Now, finally finally finally, the scale has relinquished its hold.

Thanks for all of the help and advice (and putting up with my whining... :o). Peanutt - your advice was right on. By making myself eat more than twice a day and taking in a higher number of calories, the scale is finally moving. I obviously have to perfect what I'm doing still, but thanks so much for your well-earned advice :D

Reso - I hope things are going great for you!!! Whether or not you hit 199 this week, I think you still get to ride in front with Santa!!!!

Celrae - I hear you on the scale thing....totally frustrating. Can you eat your regular protein breakfast AFTER Crossfit class? I can't eat anything before a hard, early morning workout because then I just feel disgusting the entire time, but by the end of my workout, my stomach is GROWLING and ready for food. I was planning on doing the 5 Days Booze Free again anyway, so you'll be in good company! :)

Courtney - I read your blog too! Now, just keep up that attitude!!! You can do it!

RMC - RIGHT?! I'm definitely not a morning person at all, but now I bounce out of bed at 515 to go to boxing, sometimes waking up before the alarm. Crazy crazy! And I'm with you on the psychology of the glass....during our long run of 5 Days Booze Free challenges, I was often sipping plain iced tea out of a wine glass. Whatever works!!!! :D

Sarge - I'm dying to find out if we made it to Santaland!!! Also, I was telling my husband last night about wanting to find someone to stand on my thighs, and he goes, "Is that a new challenge from your crazy chicken lady website? I bet you can do it!" :lol3:

I'm off to the gym - happy weekend everyone!

Pokey/ RMC - RIGHT?!

I have been waking up early and excited to workout too. There has defiantly been a personality shift, it is a little freaky. Also, I am fine with not drinking at the end of the day. I just fell back into old habits and since I still had energy to workout I thought it was ok.

I know the I didn't get enough water this week. It sounds crazy but, it is very hard to drink enough water on Thur. and Fri., my work day is so fast paced. What I noticed is that I always have a gain Fri. & Sat. then a loss on Sun., I really think it is because I don't get enough water.

Why We Get Fat by Gary Taubes and Primal Blueprint by Mark Sisson are some of the books I have been reading. I am trying to do a Paleo based diet but, falling short. I am finding this easier than counting calories but, I might have to do both.

You're welcome celrae! Sarge aims to please!

And I'm totally on board with the wine glass in hand to curb that psychological itch that arrives everyday around 5pm. Club soda over ice for Sarge Monday thru Thursday these days!

It's really nice to read all the WIN from those posting about their life changing adventures in rising early to box, jog, shred, AVOID PROCRASTINATION (I love that one Courtney!), or hit the gym.

POKEY---HOLY NAKED CARROTS...YAY! YAY! YAY on the scale movement...perhaps a fairy shat success on you! BTW, my family refers to Sarge's internet adventures as "are you on your fat lady blog..." Personally, I like crazy chickens better. Might have to look for a herding chickens video later.

I'm sure the platoon will make it to Santaland (we're at mile 1362 & have to get to 1413 with reports tomorrow)...we're keeping our fingers crossed that we can celebrate Reso's march into Onderland but even if not this week we're still going on all the rides and I'm hoping Jeanetty posts soon so we can ask her to photoshop some of our faces in next to Santa!

RMC--"If not, Jillian and I will be spending some time together this evening. " This is the kind of thinking that occurs when scary Sarge gets in your head! :)

Courtney--WTG on day 1 of the weekend! Excellent job on making it over the Friday night hurdle...now for Saturday and Sunday!

I don't have much time, we are invited to a company bbq! Uggh! One day before WI. I am not too happy but I am not going to drink anyways since I have to drive and I will carefully nibble on some healthy stuff. I might grab the veggie tray and hide around the corner or so. I will leave the dip behind though.

Anyways, I need your help guys. I am trying to figure out whether I have to debunk an EXCUSE here or accept reality. So far I was steadily losing without stalls or gain. However, it started a few weeks ago with a new scale and I seem to have troubles now losing pounds (full pounds I mean)! I figured it is because I am at my lowest weight ever but I might just subconsciously sabotage myself.

What do you think guys?

Just a quickie while internet access is available . . .

Courtney . . . way to handle the weekend !!!

Pokey . . . :) I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOO HAPPY FOR YOU . . . ONE-DER-LAND is right around the corner!!! I understand that frustration, I was in the 160's for well over 2 months, I lost several inches from BBB (Boobies, Belly, BUTT-er), but that DA*N scale wouldn't move . . . glad it's moving for you and me now!!!

OK, this is what I've been up to

Friday: Worked 6AM - 2:30, then packed the coolers and headed to remote location, pitched a tent and biked over 20 miles

Saturday, Woke up at 8:00, raining, 8:30 rain stopped, biked over 45 miles. At mile 20 a torrential downpour . . . I just put on my rain jacket and kept on gettin' it, I was only 4 or 5 miles from the end of the trail and I decided I was going ALL THE WAY TO THE END!!! When I got back to the campsite, the neighbors asked if I got caught in the rain (DUH,I looked like a drowned rat) They said they had to pull over (they were driving) it was raining sooo hard . . .

Tomorrow: Should be about 30 miles on the bike, going to learn about dragonflies in the AM, then a quick bite to eat, pack my backpack and off for another ride . . .

SARGE . . . I don't need you to stand on my thighs today . . . after tomorrow I probably won't even be able to walk . . .

SORRY BUT FINAL REPORT FOR TREKKING AND WEIGHT LOSS WON'T BE UNTIL MONDAY AM . . . needless to say there are NO SCALES in the middle of the woods . . .

Until Monday

Welcome Shellfish! You will find a lot of support here, but don't dare slack - there are consequences in these parts!

MadamButterfly - 45 miles! 45 MILES!! And you're planning another 30 tomorrow?? Are you kidding me? Now, I really feel like a slacker. You are a great inspiration!

josey - all I know is that as you get closer to goal, it gets slower and sometimes, more difficult. Sorry to say, I've never been close enough to goal to offer first hand advice, but from what I've read, sometimes changing things up helps some - slightly different workout routine, slightly different eating plan, etc. Again, without real experience, I am going to venture a guess as to one of the most important things you can do - STAY AT IT! Don't give up, keep eating well and exercising and eventually the rest of those pounds are going to disappear.

Wound up doing W1D1 of 30DS. Ouch! I don't know that I'm going to do it everyday, but I'm going to stick with it for the extra workouts I try to slide in several times a week. It's only OnDemand for another day or two and my dvd won't arrive until Thurs or Fri. Anyone know if you can DVR the OnDemand selections? Off to check . . .

Had a great, healthy day. Ate well, moved a bit more than usual, worked some and enjoyed the beautiful day . . . who could ask for more? (Well, I could . . . and it's to hit goal tomorrow!)

Today was an odd day part crappy weather and part decent weather, seemed to mirror my energy level / motivation. A big branch broke off of the tree that overhangs the house yesterday, thankfully no damage really but had to go about cleaning up this morning, so i trimmed a whole bunch of branches while i was at it.

Went for my 6.2 mile walk came home and was famished, had trouble controlling my eating, did not want to stop, then i was lethargic and had an hour nap, finally i forced myself to clean the house even the floors, afterwards i was going to be lazy but reading madamB's weekend report and her crazy mileage i went out and did a 10 mile bike ride.

So all in all not that bad a day, hoping for the best on weigh in tomorrow, we will see i guess, total miles today 16.2 and week total is final at (88.1) Weight total tomorrow i guess.

Pokey : So glad you are seeing some reward for all your effort finally.

kneed2lose : I can't wait to see somehttp://img202.imageshack.us/img202/9590/picsuh.gif

MadamB : Wow, talk about dropping the hammer, holy crap girl... :D

Josey : As you lose weight your body needs less calories to move and function ( less weight to carry around) this alone will slow losses, this typically motivates one to exercise harder, but this can lead to stress and appetite increase which can offset losses as well, just have to expect things to become grudgingly more difficult and maintain a reasonable level of activity and healthy diet. :) IMO... Perserverance.

rmc : My story condensed... I was fat and lazy with poor eating habits, i changed my lifestyle, now i'm slim and energetic with healthy eating habits, who would of thought these simple changes would produce these crazy results ? :dizzy:

Hi everyone!

Again, a crazy week for me! I had finals this week but rocked them and should have an A- in both classes this term! I get a week off from classes and then back at it the following Monday (I do my classes online through a local university back in my home state so I go through the summers).

I'm so glad the scale liked me this morning. We've been fighting since Thursday due to me going way overboard on my birthday Wednesday! Hello 1400 cals in just the cake I ate! Don't regret it at all, though :)

I have a question for you ladies (sorry reso!)... Have any of you got messed up periods so long after your journey began? I have always been very regular and it usually starts the very end/very beginning of the month but last month I got hit with it in the middle of the month. For the last 5 days I've sworn it was going to start (cramps, bloating, etc) but hasn't. I tested both yesterday and this morning to rule out pregnancy so all I can think of is that my weight loss may finally be affecting it? Sorry if it's TMI, just need input :)

Time to get my butt-er in gear. Need to exercise (waiting on the kids to wake up. I know as soon as I start my daughter will start crying in her crib lol), and get ready to start my day! Have a good day everyone!

GOOD MORNING PLATOON!!!!

How did your meetings with the scale go? Yes, mine showed a gain BUT it was lower than my Midweek Scale Peek on Wednesday so I am pleased for that much at least. Still, now that my head's on straight I will have a rockin' awesome next week!!!!

This week: Gained 2.4
Next week's Pledge: 2
Miles Trekked: 3.6

I'm still going to aim for 10 miles during the week. I haven't hit it yet, but I will do that soon!!!!! :cheer:

Last night I made use of My Fitness Pal to track my food. I was even able to have...a piece of cheesecake...without blowing the day! See, I put in what I knew I'd be eating fir dinner at the beginning of the day and then ate smaller meals to compensate for the big dinner. And I got in my 64 oz. of water too!

I am stoked for next week! Come on big numbers on the scale! Let's do this thing!

Oh, and both blogs have been updated too. :)

I won't be around for the rest of the day. It's our one year wedding anniversary and we're spending the day together! :cheer: I love my husband!!!!! He's the best thing that ever happened to me!

Josey--Hope you survived that bbq! I loved your plan to steal the veggie tray and hide! Also, you gotta give your body a chance to catch up once and awhile...you will hit a plateau here and there on that scale but witha bit of tinkering on food and exercise the scale WILL start moving again in the right direction. Never forget to celebrate even the smallest of losses!

MadamB--Nice numbers for the week! We will anxiously await your full report on Monday. Check yourself for ticks and chiggers before you Hansel & Gretel your way out of those woods!

WELCOME SHELLFISH & RATED!!!! Yes Rated, we have a few members from the BL red team (and some Blue too)! Sarge made them sign up because he wants the Biggest Loser flag of victory to stay in the platoon and fly high our barracks every single day!

RMC--Date night with Jillian resulting in OUCH!!! :) That's the spirit!

Kneed--CONGRATS ON COMPLETING THAT WARRIOR DASH!!!! We can't wait for the deets!

Warrior Dash = something like 7 or 8 mile run filled with obstacles including walls to climb, rings of fire, mud pit belly crawls, etc.

Kendrab--SO CLOSE TO GOAL!!! Re: your question...your body is rebelling/adjusting to the weight loss. Messed up cycle and in extreme cases, absence of cycle, can be the result of drastic weight loss. You may not consider your loss drastic, but I do recall you were surviving on 700 calories a day there for awhile. That's kind of drastic.

Courtney--I'm glad your head is on straight, but we have to get you to be able to string together at least a solid week of eating on plan and getting your sweat on. absolutely no cheating! I just know if you got that scale really rocking in the right direction you'd get super motivated to keep going. Try to make this next week totally cheat free!

Will be rolling the board and starting to post results in a bit...

GOD LUCK ON YOUR WEIGH INs!!!!!

Reso - That totally makes sense! Working out with a lighter body is also easier. I definitely try and bump up my workouts. I will surely not give up after I made it that far. Too much fun :-)

Sarge - Well, I didn't steal the veggie tray. Too many people around I know. However, I think I did well even with having a burger (can't escape at a beef industry event) I lost 2 pounds this week! I skipped the dessert and other fat/calorie traps and had a salad and some fruit. I was a bit freaked out since a lot of people haven't seen me for a while and where just all over me. I had to answer millions of questions and apparently was the talk of the bbq. And I hate that. I don't like spotlight.
You are right my body needs a chance to catch up too. Right now it seems like I am losing more inches than pounds so I should really relax and keep doing what I am doing (plus bumping it up a bit!). 2 pounds were definitely nice to see this morning!

So for the next week:
pledge: 2 pounds!
trek: W6 of C25k, so roughly 6 miles?

Josey- great job not giving up! Oddly it seems whenever my weight loss is reeeeally slow I UP my cals and it works. I'm not suggesting it but it's what works for me for some reason! Congrats on being the talk of the BBQ even though you don't like the spotlight ;) I was that way at first but now I don't mind. I've literally worked my butt off for this weight and I'm happy when people are raving about it lol.

Sarge- that's true. The low cals weren't long term though and wouldn't it have effected it then and not now? From the accidental 700 I went up to 1100/1200 and now am up to 1400/1500 a day (wow). The only recent change is that I went from 5-6 mini meals and 1100/1200 cals a day to the fast 5 diet and 1400/1500 cals a day but that's only been the plan for about a week or so. Oh well! I've just never had this happen without being pregnant so I got a little freaked but I really don't think I am and only tested to completely rule it out.

I set up a schedule for training for my 1/2 last night. I am really excited. I guess I was thinking that all races had a time limit so that was stressing me. The 10 miler I am doing in Oct. requires that the course is cleared in 2 hours.

Envelope--Nice job on the loss for the week. I understand the stress over course time limits! The one stressing you is 10 miler at 2hr. time limit? 12 minute miles? What are you clocking in at now per mile? Don't stress over the time limit right now, the platoon has plenty in its arsenal that we've used to motivate in the past...we can get the Apache Chase Helicopter and Triceratops to help you get a move on and perhaps we can borrow some of those snakes DataGirl encountered .

Morning everyone, happy belated birthday Kendrab. ;)

Also John touched on something with one of his posts that might pertain to your question for the ladies. Also a good link on body fat in the same thread that mentions the need for greater body fat in women vs men.

Morning Troops! Great job on all the losses and :cp: bravo to everyone resisting temptation and making great choices.

Well, it's a mixed bag for me this week. I lost exactly 2 lbs, so I'm a bit disappointed that I missed my pledge of 3. But, I jogged/biked 22 miles, which is 2 more than I anticipated. (Not a big deal, but I'd rather go over than under.) I've also added some additional activity into my day, so all in all, I'm not unhappy.

I'm realizing that for me, the challenging part of this is the exercise, not the eating. I never have a problem eating within my calorie allotment (1200 right right now) and I usually make pretty healthy choices. BUT, I am a lazy slug because my natural inclination is to sit still. That said, I'm really enjoying going to the gym and walking the neighborhood and just moving in general. So, I'm going to focus on that these next few weeks.

There's a local 5K that's held every September around here. Sounds like a goal!

This week's pledge:
2 lbs
30 miles

Rated and Shellfish – Welcome!!!

Kneed and celrae – I’ve been thinking of signing up for the Warrior Dash too!!! I think I’m going to ask my daughter to do it with me 

Kneed – can’t wait to see the pictures!!!

rmc9142 – I can relate – I’ve always been a lazy slug too. It has been the hardest thing for me to overcome, but once I get my butt moving, I really enjoy it and am always glad I did it!

bnhtla06 – 3.5 lbs! Way to go!!!

Resolute – You are very inspiring to me! Exercising twice a day and getting house work done in-between! I will remember that next time I’m feeling lazy and trying to think up excuses for not working out!

CourtneyDaisey – Happy Anniversary!

Envelope – To increase your speed, maybe you could do something like when I was learning to run… Instead of “walk run walk run” - try running at your usual pace and then running a little faster for a minute. Keep going back and forth with your speed and eventually you may be able to run faster for longer periods of time. Just a thought…

Kendrab1223 – I know you are relieved to have your finals behind you! Great job on your grades! As far as your TOM question… Ever since I develop fibroids, my periods have been all over the place… It could have been a fluke or it could be something minor like the fibroids. If it continues, I would just mention it to your doctor at your next yearly indignity…

rmc9142 – Great job on the W1D1 of 30DS! So, did you figure out if you can DVD it yet!

MadamButterfly – Wow, getting in some great exercise on your trip – despite the rain! I love it!

pokeycactus – So glad to hear that the scale is moving again! The hard work is paying off!

josey – I agree with Kendrab1223… eating more sometimes helps. And it doesn’t have to be for long, sometimes just a couple of days of extra calories would get the scale moving for me. Sounds weird I know….

Sarge – Have you found a herding chickens video??? That would be too funny to watch!

OK, numbers for this week: Lost 5 lbs! It was just the first week, so I don’t expect to keep up this pace, but it feels great to have such a good start. I walked/hiked 32 miles last week!!!

I am going out of town on Thursday and will be gone at least 1.5 to 2 weeks. I have planned ahead for my diet (and have told my mother that I am following my plan even though I am visiting her) and I usually wake up before everyone, so I will plan to work out first thing every morning. I will pledge 2 lbs for this week and will say 20 miles walked… (I will probably do more Wii this week than usual, and can’t really figure my miles on that.)

Hey Platoon!!
It's a been a bit but I've been lurking when I got a chance to read up on how everyone was doing.
I've been away at the beach for vacation and it was so fabulous! Had a blast with our family and eating and playing and everything. I still made sure to get in my running and biking. Plus tons of walking, kayaking, swimming, kickball and 4 square! Ha...old school games.
It's been great being so active. Though we did of course eat more yummy things then I can count.

I'm going to continue skimming through the post I missed.

I was down to 202.4 this morning, which makes for a total loss of two pounds even this week. Can I say it's about time?! With the weight sticking so badly, I was contemplating which building to fling myself off of lately. :D

I also had an NSV - clocked a 12:04 mile, followed by my second mile at 13:34. So that was exciting for me too - especially since the first mile I did ever many weeks ago was 22+ minutes. Hooray for progress!

Welcome to all the Newbies!

Cheshire - glad you're back! The beach sounds fantastic!

MadamB - yes, FINALLY. Let's hope the scale keeps moving for the both of us. Nothing has been more frustrating than working my BUTT-er off and not seeing movement on the scale. I lost BBB too, though!!!

Jeanetty - I'm ALL about NO PANTS around here. :)

Courtney - Happy anniversary!!!

Kendra - Happy belated birthday!!! And congrats on being so close to your goal weight!!!!!

Sarge - Still nothing from Girlfrom...what a bummer! I was hoping she'd resurface because having a good competition with someone each week was motivating. Still hoping though! Also, did we make it to Santaland?!?!

I'm going to head out and float in the pool for a bit...it's HOT here today, 108 degrees! Loving it!

Hmmm, no go on my first attempt at onederland, actually no go on anything this week, frankly after the uncalled for drop last week i knew it would be tough just to maintain that low, still i'm somewhat happy to stay even, perhaps if i have a good week i will see something extraordinary next weekend.

As for today spent about 5 hours helping my brother with his garage then came home and piddled around for a couple of hours, still i dug deep today and did another 10 mile walk in the rain as a last ditch attempt, really tired right now.

Congrats to everyone who has seen success this week, it doesn't come easy, every pound is hardfought and earned. :)

I had a tough week last week so I am hoping some extra motivation and hard work will get me back on track. I think a really active board like this will help a lot. I noticed everyone pledging miles as well as pounds is that how many miles we plan on walking, running, swimming etc during our workouts?

First off: Happy Fathers Day to all the fathers out there! :)

So run down of the warrior dash....IT WAS CRAZY But LOTS of fun and at the same time it was a reality check and life changing!

So basically to all those who have never heard of the Warrior Dash....it is a 5k full of obstacles along the way. And not just little obstacles....HUGE ones!!

My cousins and I are very close so we decided to do it together. We arrived and there were soooo many people there....every half hour there were at least 200 people starting the run. So we all started running and it was a bit harder bc im use to a treadmill and not the lumpy bumpy ground. And it was soooo hottt and humid that day!! So we would all run and take breaks here and there, and just sit together, and had a blast. we went through mossy greens, big mud puddles where i happened to lose my balance and SPLAT!...fall right in! Some of the challenges were fun...we had to run over a bunch of tires, climb over cars, crossing over tangled nets, slide down a pole, jump over a fire, and crawl through a hugeee bank! it was SOO CRAZY!!!

Now most of my cousins are in shape and were able to do everything. I got to an obstacle where there was a huge slanted wall and you had to climb up it using a rope and swing yourself over and climb down....i got to the top and could not make it over, i tired to pull my body up but could not get over. i had to go back and walk around it because i couldnt make it over...while walking around it...i just started crying...yea it may have been just a random obstacle/race but for me it felt like another thing to add to my list of "things I cant do" it was heartbreaking...it felt like every time i try to start something or lose weight...i get to the point where im motivated and i can....but then i just cant push myself and fail. It felt like i failed...yet again. I obviously cried and push through the rest of the challenges and by the end of it i told myself that by next year, Im going to be fit enough to do every obstacle. :) I finished the 5k....it was fun, motivational, and an interesting experience.

Im uploading a photo for the very first time on this site!

its a before and after picture of all the cousins! :) https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/261432_893680086109_32802535_42614410_7527314_n.jp g

Kneed -- The photos are AWESOME!!! Congrats on completing the Dash...you are a WARRIOR! I can't even believe you considered that one obstacle a fail...not signing up for the dash, not showing for the dash, not making changes and trying something new in your life...that's FAIL!

Welcome Kris!!!! Sarge is glad to have you!

Rated--Way to accept the challenge. I know people are pledging lots of things but Sarge really just keeps track of pounds pledged and miles trekked each week (and you don't need to pledge miles). We're trekking across America and we've made it from Delaware to Illinois so far. If you put any sort of miles in during the week just let me know on Sundays and I'll add them into our grand total.

Reso--We'll carry the party supplies with us to the next location...no problem. We know you're gonna get to Onederland soon!

K3 + Chesh---Welcome back!

Pokey--Great progress this week. Great loss & what a NSV! 22 to 12:04 per minute mile. Unbelievable!

Dumplin--Wow...look how much you've already lost...81lbs! We'll glady walk you to Onederland!

Jeanetty--Happy you and Courtney will be duking it out!

MeFirst--Ummmm Batman's "utility belt" close up? So that's what we're calling it now...:)

_________________________

Board update: Ok troops, with only two people yet to check in (but I know they will), we are 12+ pounds short of goal. This is kind of a bummer since we'd hit 100% for the last three or four weeks. However, here's a few positives:

--we didn't lose any platoon members this week!
--we gained a bunch of new recruits!
--as soon as we finish puking on the rides at Santaland (Indiana) we've gathered enough miles to practically blow through Illinois and camp next at the Missouri boarder.
--AND, we had a couple of really big losers this week...scroll up and look at some of those losses!

__________________________________

And finally, with so many new recruits perhaps it's time to briefly introduce/reintroduce ourselves to one another.

Sarge--55 years old anal retentive control freak. I found my way to 3FC because I had become fat and lazy over the last few years. I've lost 60 so far but almost quit earlier in March. Rainbow and a few others from the BL Challenge stopped me quitting and with their encouragement I started this thread to have fun and work hard! Since starting this thread mid-March it's been a blast hanging with you all every day!

But tomorrow Sarge is gonna start cracking the whip again!!!! We gotta make up for the 12 pound shortfall!

Trekkers-- What better place to camp after Santaland that at the base of a statue of Popeye! Eat your spinach and march on!

WE'VE COMPLETED (1691.71) OF 5,048 MILE VIRTUAL TREK ACROSS AMERICA which puts us approximately at this portion of trail:

Grand Tower to East St. Louis (Missouri State Line)

The ADT continues north on a combination of back roads and maintenance roads on the top of the levees along the Mississippi River to south of East St. Louis. There are several historic sites along this portion of the ADT, including Fort Kaskaskia, founded by Jesuit priests in 1703 at the site of an Indian village; Fort de Chartres, built by the French in 1750; Modoc, where a rock shelter is said to be the site of the longest continuous habitation in North America; Prairie du Rocher, first settled in 1722 as a French trading post; and Cahokia, the oldest town in Illinois settled in 1699 by French priests who established a mission here. A statue of Popeye stands in Chester, home of the creator of the cartoon character. In St. Clair County the levee trail is known as the Metro-East Levee trails. The ADT crosses the Mississippi River into Missouri from south of East St. Louis on the Eads Bridge, using Metro-link, a pedestrian walkway.

Eat some spinach if you need to troops, but let's give this the full court press this week!

I did the 30DS again last night and, let's just say, getting out of bed was a little harder than usual this morning. :p Off to the gym, then a busy, busy work day. Have a great one everyone!

Thanks for the intro Sarge. The perceptions we come up with based on just our postings are sometimes not exactly on target!

Me: 50 years old, 2 grown kids, one almost-grown spouse. I have a FT job which I like and am in the process of launching a little writing venture, which I love, so I try to make every minute of my day count. I've been fat my whole life, so this isn't my first time at the rodeo, but this time feels different. Maybe even easier. Or maybe getting older has given me different priorities. Regardless, I'm here to give it my all, gain some motivation, and hopefully, give some back.

RMC--Nice to "meet you," love the part about "almost grown spouse." We're very similar on that count & two grown kids. Also "launching a writing venture" is a great fit in this platoon. Pokey and others write "pantsless!"

Just read the results on the BL threads... CONGRATS to Kendrab for honorable mention on RED team and to Bnhtla for BIGGEST LOSER on BLUE team this week. Way to represent the platoon!!!!!

I have been married for 13 years to a wonderful guy. I am the mother of 9 yr. old very active twin girls, summer camp, swim team, and softball. I work full time. I run a small house cleaning business M, T, W. Then on Th, F, S, I work for a smoke house/charcuterie, we make lunch meat, bacon, and summer sausages. Food is my passion and I love that job. I am very lucky to have my girls in camp this Summer it gives me time manage my work and household responsibilities.

I have been over weight my entire life 225-245 for the last 18 years. During high school and college I did not weigh myself but, I was lower a size 14/16. Most of the women in my family are thin yet, struggled with eating disorders. At a young age I got the message that I was pretty but, fat (big boned). I didn't want to be obsessed with weight so I tried not to care. I want to be a positive example for my girls and I have struggled with how to make changes. My husband and I have decided to be more active and eat more whole foods. We are working on developing positive habits that will stick. For me this process is 50% emotional, 25% just doing, and 25% researching. I am trying to replace negative thinking patterns with healthy sustainable ones.

Looking forward to reading all the introductions.

WOW, are we a chatty group . . .

Kendrab: :balloons: HAPPY BIRTHDAY :balloons: I know a week late but, but better late than never

rmc: I think you are the one who would prefer to "sit still" Ummmm, come spend a day with me, I think I'm the opposite . . . I can't seem to sit still for 5 minutes . . . unless I'm sleeping . . . ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzz

OK, SOOOOOOOO MANY PERSONALS and I can't even begin to address them all. SO, if you MELTED BUTT-ER THIS WEEK, :congrat: If you gained . . . then you better get you BUTT-er IN GEAR . . . UP OFF THAT SOFA AND MOVE IT, MOVE IT, MOVE IT . . .

SARGE: :yikes: and double :yikes: short 12+ pounds on meeting our goal . . . I surely didn't help either . . . OK so what's our punishment; double workouts, 10 extras or are you just gonna pull out that BIG OLE CAN OF WUP A** . . . we failed and are ready for our punishment . . . bring it on SARGE!!!!

OK, returned from BUTT-er melting get-a-way . . . albeit non-productive as the far as the scale is concerned. Although I rode the whole trail, it's an old rail line that has been paved over, so basically flat . . . of course torrential rains on Saturday wasn't exactly pleasant, I DID IT . . . Sunday my legs weren't even hurting after doing a bit over 45 miles Saturday (what??? :?: ) Sunday the weather was beautiful, :sunny: and no wind so I biked another 35+ miles . . . Needless to say my BUTT-er is a bit sore, but that's no excuse . . . I'm off to clean the tent (lots of catapillar poopies, ewwwwww) then BUTT-er melting activity.

Everyone have a GREAT DAY . . .

Morning Platoon!!

4 mile run done this morning, plus 1 mile walk for a cool down.
Was a little slow going at first but finished strong.

We have gained quite a few new members. Intros would be great!

Me: I'm about to be 28 in about a month. Married, no kids, but we have two cats to love on. I'm a teacher, so I'm on summer break right now. Yay! I was a bigger growing up. When I got to college and started walking the weight started to come off. Then I found running and I lost the rest. I got injured-slowed down and gained some back. So working off the last 10-15lbs now.

Motivation for the day:

Intros: I am married with a 15 yr old son and a geriatric chocolate lab. I work full-time as a speech language pathologist in a pediatric rehab center and I pick up extra hours working at a school 1 day a week (also on summer break for that part, so I'm really pushing for some weight loss while I have a little extra time). I gained 50 lbs with my son and never lost it, and then I gained the rest during college and grad school- bit of a "stress-eater". My high was 255, which is pretty huge at 5'3". I have tried dieting more times than I can count, but I've never been really successfull and I've always gained it back plus some. My husband, who is not nearly as overweight as I am, was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes at the end of Feb this year. This was scary for all of us, but especially for my son. His father, my 1st husband suffered with severe complications from type 1 diabetes. When he learned that my husband has diabetes and that I am on the verge, he was devastated. He was terrified at the idea that this disease might be the cause of him losing 3 parents. His fear broke my heart and was the motivation to launch our new, healthy lifestyle. Since March, my husband has equalized his bloodsugars enough to go off the medicine, and I've lost 52 lbs. Still a ways to go before I'm out of the dangerzone, but I WILL get there.

I'm enjoying all the "intros"... but really LOVE Chesh's motivational poster today, "...BUT I'LL BE DAMNED IF I'M NOT TRYING MY HARDEST!"

TRY YOUR HARDEST! Jillian is just waiting to stand on your thighs and scream in your face!

Sarge already put in 8 miles today and may do more just to put a dent in that 12 pound excess from last week.

And have a good day!

MadamButterfly- I will be hanging on and I look forward to the wrath of Sarge if it helps me melt some butt-er.

Intro: I am a 22 year old student. I just finished my Bachelors degree and I start again in 2 weeks (teaching program) . I was thin in high school but started to gain a lot weight when university started getting stressful. Now that I want to be a high school teacher I feel like I really need to get healthy to set a good example. I also know high school kids can be VERY judgmental so I would like to feel confident when I am standing up in front of the class.

Sarge - Worked out "Rocky-style" this morning. Got some strange looks because of how hot it is already, haha

MadamB - 120 miles?!?! Whoa!!! And hey! No loss this week?! :( You're supposed to have the scale moving now with me! We're going to lose more this week, you and me both!

Cheshire - That's REALLY great motivation, thanks for that!!!

Intro - I'm 26, married, no kids. I am a full time writer in medical marketing and research and have recently added WebTv producer to my list of jobs. I really, truly enjoy my work, but it's an extremely sedentary lifestyle. I was thinner than I am now in high school, but I've always been overweight since I can remember. Now I'm running and boxing and trying to figure out an eating style that makes the weight come off. I've tried losing weight for years, but failed many times. However, this time is the last time, because I am just sick and tired of being overweight and unhealthy.

Hi Everyone, Sorry I missed so much last week. You are a chatty bunch  and 4 days is just too long to be otu of the loop:D

I am currently enjoying my lunch of Greek yogurt and baby carrots (only things left in the fridge from before we left:) )
Had an amazing time on my trip. Hopefully I'll be able to figure out how to post a picture on here so I can show you guys the amazing view from the peak we climbed at Joshua Tree park.

Intro- I am 28 years old and married to a super active and amazingly supportive guy. I work as a chemist in the bio-tech industry of Boston. Only made the move/job change in the past year after the completion of my masters. The new education and courses I took was a huge enlightenment for me as to nutrition and the human body. (I specifically took elective courses in diabetes and the biochemistry of obesity)
I have always been over weight even in high school when I was participating in sports regularly. I grew up in a family where every gathering was centered around food and early on I became an emotional eater. I've dieted more times then I can count over the years and now I realize I was always doing absolutely everything wrong! I never had the proper nutrition education or even a full understanding of what I should be eating and how much. I know that this time I am focusing my energy in the right direction and that what I am doing is not a diet, it's a life adjustment.

GOOD AFTERNOON PLATOON!!!!

Sarge - Sir YES SIR!!!!! I will NOT cheat this week AT ALL!!!! Actually, there's over half of a cheesecake in my fridge that my mom gave me after Saturday night's birthday dinner for my dad. Want to know what I'm gonna do with it? I am going to bring it to the office tomorrow and let my co-workers go to town over it! And...I am not eating ONE SINGLE PIECE!!!! I'll stick it in the break room and it will be out of my house without me having it! :)

Jeannettey - Awesome! Yes, you and I are gonna be 100% cheat free this week!!!!!

I'm training our new temp this week and she is sitting with me for the whole day today and tomorrow. So I won't be able to pop in during the day from time to time like I usually do. Have to set a good example at work and all. That also meant I had to find time to eat my lunch while actually on lunch today so I cut my elliptical time down to 15 minutes today. I am going to make up for that tonight though when I get home! I hope it won't be too hot because I can take my 3 year old, put her in her stroller, and go walk in my neighborhood for 15 minutes to make up for the lost time at work.

I'm off to cover the switchboard and clock back in from lunch now. Have a great, productive, cheat-free day!!!!!

I am married, and we have 3 children, an 11 year old son and almost 6 year old girls. I gained some weight while TTC then some more with my pregnancy with my son. I actually ended up with a 10 lb weight loss a few weeks after the girls were born. The following sleepless 6 months and some serious exhaustion eating had me gaining alot. I stayed around 237 for a few years.
When I started taking my elementary ed classes I started getting serious about losing weight. Like rated, I realized that I really needed to be setting a better example, and was worried about students perceptions of me. I just earned my bachelors and teaching certificate in May. In late Aug I am starting a program to become a reading specialist, and will do a year long internship.

I didn't want or need cake, even though they tried to get me to take a piece back with me. But...I persevered! Then...an e-mail just went out saying that they are having an ICE CREAM SOCIAL tomorrow to celebrate the first day of summer! :dizzy::dizzy::dizzy: I swear to goodness my office is trying to sabotage me! Sometimes it SUCKS working for a major food distributor. There is food everywhere here!

I still have the drill sergeant pic hanging over my monitor and a sign that says "NO EXCUSES!!!!"

Hey all! Hope everyone had a great day. It's so nice to "meet" you all!

My side was really sore when I woke up this morning, so I figured I'd just slept funny and was stiff. After it persisted all day, I realized it was my obliques crying - I'd done a new ab workout that I found on FitTV yesterday! D'oh . . . I'm an idiot for not realizing, but I guess it was a good workout. ;)

To whoever asked (sorry I don't recall), the answer is no, you can't record programs found OnDemand. At least not on Comcast. So, I guess I'll stick with this ab routine I discovered until my 30DS dvd arrives.

Hi everyone. Thank you very much for your hugs, thoughts and prayers, and to those who sent messages - thank you very, very much.

The D&C on Friday went fine - no complications with the procedure. I am struggling with some things, but will try to be patient and wait it out until I'm feeling like myself again, and in the meantime I will keep working on eating well. For right now I'll pledge to keep to my previous daily calorie intake (1200-1500), and when I'm allowed to exercise again I'll make a pledge for a loss.

I hope everyone is doing well, and thank you again for your kindness.

Sarge - I DID get in another 2 miles this evening! Brenna's grandfather stayed at the house with her while I took our dog for a 2 mile walk/jog! It was fun and Ringo pulled me along when I started to get tired. He motivated me to keep on going! :running:

I'll have the new temp lady sitting with me again at work tomorrow so I'll be scarce in the thread until lunch break. Still, I'll check in when I get there and plan to hit that office gym on lunch break! :)

Spent a wonderful day at my Kids Camp. I spend most of the day walking around checking on campers and counselors, making sure everyone is enjoying themselves solving any issues that come up. According to mybodymedia I walked 4 miles during 4 hours. Today was my rest day from jogging and I still managed to get my calories burned through out the day up to what I normally burn on a day that I exercise, although I had 0 min of vigorous activity.
I better go to bed. I want to get my jogging done before camp, so it will be an early morning.

Courtney- Dogs are great for making you walk harder and faster. For awhile before my dog hurt her hip she made sure I walked everyday she would bug me until I gave in. I guess she was my own little personal trainer.

I had a really good day today. I did week 1 of the C25K which I have started many times before but I am going to finish it this time around. I also did the 30 day shred workout which I love and hate; it gives me a good workout but I have such a hard time making myself to do. How long did it take everyone to enjoy exercise? Will I be forcing myself everyday or will I begin to look forward to it at some point?

hey Sarge and members of the platoon!

i'm getting back on the wagon this week after a two month hiatus from weightwatchers and exercising. this looks like the place to stay motivated and keep me accountable...so with the permission of Sarge, i'll post my pledge on sunday :)

from what i've read so far, it looks like you all pledge a weight loss on sunday and #of miles to be logged...am i correct? also, i do yoga, can i give hours? i do have a pedometer, and i like to walk, so i could log miles too. (10000 steps = 5 miles right?)
sorry for all the question, just wanting to make sure i got the gist of everything :)

looking forward to this!

Sarge- I hope you recover from your travels. I feel your pain. It always takes a few nights of good sleep before we feel like ourselves again.

It's going to be a busy day but hopefully I'll be able to catch up with everyone tonight.

Have a great day and remember our motto: No Excuses! We are all making our pledge this week!!!!! :)

The Rise & Shine Call has already passed for a good number of you so Sarge is just gonna try and catch up here...

K3--Your last post was the first I read this morning and I couldn't have been more pleased with your reminding all of our motto at the end...NO EXCUSES!!!

Courtney--Way to double time that exercise and make history of that cheesecake!

Celrae--"I am enjoying increased activity..." WIN! WIN! WIN!

Tubak--Glad to have you back running for your health instead of from your problems!

VickieLou--Welcome back to you too!

Fillupthesky--WELCOME!!! New recruits always welcome. I'm going to update the pledge board today so if you want to pledge a pound or two for this week no problem. All Sarge really asks for on Sundays is this:
# of pounds lost / pounds promised for next week /and if you join our "trek", # of miles you put in of "intentional" exercise (exercise sessions where you walk, run, bike, or other "machines" that calculate miles). Lots of people add extra pledges to reinforce their commitment and some make the board because we seem to be a betting bunch. Just follow along and play along...hate for any true "rules" to get too complicated. Basically, Sarge just like to make sh*t up! :)

Bottom line, a Sunday post would look like this: -2 / pledge 1 / 15 miles trekked

Rated -- I've read and truly believe it takes 3 weeks for something you change in your life to become "habit," and something you enjoy. You're going to find a lot of people in this group who love that C25k program. Loads of people crossing a race finish line for the first time and signing up for more.

Chick & MadamB--Thanks for the thoughts, but every now and then Sarge is just a big, whiny, immature tantrum throwing brat. Thank god I never went for that "conceal carry" permit! Probably spared a life or two yesterday!

RMC -- oblique pain = WIN! And btw, on that Comcast OnDemand question about recording... if you have a separate DVR, not one built into their box, you can record all the programming off OnDemand. I record all my favorite shows on to discs and carry with me when I travel.

Envelope & Rated--It's excellent to read that not only do you want to improve your own health, but that you want to set an example for our youth.

Jeannettey--"No "human" children but 15 furry ones." Somehow, this didn't surprise me...:) So glad you and Courtney are gonna battle it out week by week!

Me1st--Wow, you have a lot on your plate! Hope you stick around with all that motivation!

Pokey--hahahah.. Rocky-style workout in 108 degree heat! I'd like to hear your explanation to the paramedics when they run an IV line! Seriously, beware of heat stroke...first you see the pretty colors, then get wobbly, then FACE PLANT!

After Sarge updates the board he's off to make with the miles...

WORK HARD!!!! WE WANT ANOTHER WEEK OF WIN!!!!

Happy Morning All!

Did a little Wii Dance to loosen up then I did my workout from New Rules of Lifting. I was so dragging my feet and didn't want to do anything....but like we have said before you never regret doing a workout! I feel better for getting it done.

Depending on the rain, I should be getting in a 4-5 mile walk this afternoon too. Whoo.

Get out there and get some exercise in! You won't regret it. You'll love it!

Good Morning Troops!
I'm just checking in quickly before I take the dogs to the park.

A little about me: I'm a 49 y'old mother of two boys, 15 & 12, married and I have a small online business. Ironically I make plus sized costumes ~~~ We have two dogs, a coated german shepherd and an english springer spaniel.
I get NO rest and with tomorrow being the last day of school, the games have just begun.

Make it a grueling day and sweat it out!

Good day troops and welcome back Chick. Glad to hear that you're going to travel and accept what I'm sure is a much deserved award. Take care of yourself!

Sounds like everyone is recommitting to a great, productive week. K3 has the right idea: NO EXCUSES THIS WEEK FROM ANYONE. No TOM, no "forced" celebrating, no too tired, too sick, too anything. Unless we have one foot in the grave, we can always do something. And I know, in the past, I've said, "Well, it's so-and-so's birthday, so it will be impossible to eat on plan." That's bulls##t. I don't recall anyone ever holding me down and force-feeding me cake. :o

Obliques feeling better today. I love thinking about how much pain I was in when I first started working out. No hip or knee pain now means (a) not so much fat straining everything and (b) everything's in better shape. :carrot:

Have a great day everyone!

GOOD AFTERNOON PLATOON!!!!!

Pvt. Courtney checking in! The cheesecake that I brought in this morning has been devoured by my co-workers! :cheer: It's 100% gone!!!!! YAY!!!!!   I am glad they enjoyed it AND doubly glad that I successfully avoided it! The ice cream social is taking place right now, so I will stay as far away from the break room as I can. Tonight I am planning on walking with Ringo again. Maybe I can do 3 miles in the neighborhood tonight! I need to figure out how to take a water bottle and bowl for him along too. Don't want the pup to get overheated. When we got back last night he drank some water and flopped down on the tile in front of the fireplace to cool off. It was pretty hot out there and we went at 8:45PM! Talk about a hot dog!

I have 680 calories that I can spend on dinner and an afternoon snack. I have my snack planned. It's a 100 calorie bag of 94% fat free kettle corn. YUM! Dinner's still undecided yet. Have to see what I can cook up in the mess hall.

Jeanettey and Me1st - How are y'all doing today? Staying on plan? YOU CAN DO IT!!!!! :D

:woops: Let's get moving!

Sarge just finished 14.75 "machine miles" / 1hr15min. Rocky-style (full sweats) workout! Thanks Pokey I needed a reminder on how to make up for some bad behavior yesterday!

WE WILL WIN THE WAR THIS WEEK!

I need to figure out how to take a water bottle and bowl for him along too.

Hey Courtney, I usually bring one large water bottle to share with the pup and a large ziplock bag in my pocket. I fold the top of the bag over to make a flexible "bowl". It will hold it's shape with the water in it. No hot dogs for us (of any kind!).

CourtneyDaisey & Pokey- We all seem to be logging our food and exercising a lot. I truly think one of us can win the BL challenge. We need some sort of side bet to keep the intensity up. Any ideas?

Sarge!! Pvt Tubbaki reporting in!!!

I know I've ben MIA for over TWO months but I'm back for good now and ready to make a change. Running away from my problems was the wrong move to make, it just made things worse :headache:

Pledging 1.5 pounds for the next weigh in! Let's do this!!

Hey! Good to see you back and ready for duty. Lots of fun here, as usual. Check out the Trek Across America :dizzy:.

Afternoon ladies and GENT

Looks like everyone is off to a good start this week, because you know we are going to have to make up that extra 12 pounds somehow :yikes:

Peanut: Race time this weekend, I know you'll do FANTASTIC, are you going to try to beat your time??? Oh, the last post I read of yours you were turning SARGE-like . . . LOVED IT :D

Reso: Our pillar of strength . . . pounding out the miles . . . :) How are the toes? ;)

jojoyoyo; I was thinking about you the other day, glad you're hanging in there and getting back on track

tubbaki: You'd better be running, (just not away from your problems) . . . TIME TO BUST YOU BUTT-ER AND MELT IT AWAY!!!

FillUp: :welcome3: Just plan on MELTIN' YOUR BUTT-ER, pledge how much you're going to lose for the week and make it happen!! Oh, and have fun too ;)

Courtney; GREAT job of disposing of the cheesecake . . . and what is this "maybe I can do 3 miles in the neighborhood tonight" . . . ummmmmm, me thinks you WILL do those 3 miles!!!

Pokey: Rocky style, 108 degree heat . . . like SARGE said: Can you say HEAT STROKE waiting to happen . . . I thought I was CRAZY . . . you DO NOT NEED TO DO ANOTHER FACE PLANT MY FRIEND!!!! (unless it's into the pool . . . LOLOLOLOL Hey, did you ever find Girlfrom???

OK, checked the garden today and pulled out about a dozen radishes, the tomatoes have lots of flowers and the ZUCCHINI is growing BIG and has flower buds, but alas they haven't bloomed YET . . . pumpkin and watermelon plants are starting to grow . . . cold summer here <sigh>

Workouts for today are done: C25K,W7,D2, 400 crunches, 100 push-ups (albeit, 4 sets of 25) Legs are definitely a bit happier now . . .

MAKE TODAY COUNT . . . EXCUSES . . . I DON'T THINK SO, NOT HERE AT LEAST . . . SO GET UP OFF YOUR LAZY BUTT-ER AND DO SOMETHING!!!

Kendrab: Are you sitting on the couch???? LOLOLOLOL

Still sick and no work outs for me.
Lost a pound more last night ~reaching 10lbs lost! but woke with 2lbs more (damn cough med and its sugar  grrrrr) but i swear to loose the 2lbs b4 Sunday...and thats a fact ;)

Jeannettey ...good lord women, your weekly critter food bill with all those animals must be as high as mine is too feed my animals (my 2 teen age boys ARE my animals, they even stick like animals lol)

A bunny for every 5lbs melted

Hey Me1st--Totally agree, that is one sad, lonely looking bunny! On the otherhand, when you get two of them together you know what's gonna happen...they (use your imagination) and multiply like crazy!!!

Dumplin--You're welcome...keep track of those miles and we'll add them to our trek...every exercise mile logged gets us that much closer to the Golden Gate Bridge.

Celrae--Awesome post! Someone in the platoon is gonna win that Biggest Loser title! I don't care if you guys have to come on this thread 10 times a day to get your butt kicked to the gym or talked away from a bag of chips! Sarge wants that flag of victory to fly over our barracks!!!!!

Keep working hard and remember to eat your spinach because the trekkers are camping at the base of the Popeye statue in Chester, IL.

Hi, "Sarge!"

I'm new here, but participate in my own version of bootcamp here in hot humid southeastern VA. I racewalk, kayak, do Zumba, and do extreme jetskiing! Miles trekked this week: 5 (and it's only Tuesday!)

I take long walks with my dog, Roscoe, and have found that a hat keeps the sun out of my eyes, absorbs sweat, and provides a handy doggy water bowl. Roscoe doesn't mind a little mama sweat, and I don't mind putting a cool had back on my head when he's done lapping up the H2O!!!

Heading out to the mess hall to feed the troops!

Snappy SALUTE!!!

Sarge and MadamB - no worries, I wasn't Rocky-ing it up outside, I was at my gym. I just got super strange looks from the desk staff when I came inside all dressed to workout!!! For the most part, people workout in short shorts and tanks (even the biggest people) because it is HOT.

Sarge - Wait til you see last night's Extreme Makeover Weight Loss. This guy was AMAZING! I don't want to spoil it for you, but the motivation he had - whoa.

MadamB - No face plants lately!!! Woohoo!!! Still haven't found Girlfrom...maybe she'll resurface yet!!! Also, I didn't check the garden for a couple of days, and found that two tiny little zucchinis had grown into 13inch long zucchinis!!!! I could only think of you when I found those guys :lol3:

Celrae - Sure!!! We could do our own mini BL challenge each week on the side between the 3 of us? Or, because we're all different weights, we could say that first one to 5 (or 10, or 15 or whatever) pounds lost each round wins? I love doing extra challenges!!!! :)

Courtney - My best friend uses this when we take her dog on jogs with us: http://www.nationalpetpharmacy.com/product/15199/PortablePET-PortaBottle-Travel-Water-Bottle?utm_source=amazon&utm_medium=cse
We had tried the ziploc bag thing because I used to do that when I was a kid growing up with the dogs that came to the rodeo with me, but her dog is a spaz and the bag freaks him out! :D So that little water bottle is super handy.

I had a TOUGH workout this morning at the boxing gym...the trainer even said it was a difficult workout day. I was just pouring sweat and completely worked my muscles to exhaustion. Crazy crazy. Then I had to put on a dress and go to a big-girl grown up meeting :p, but now, thankfully, I'm back at home working, hooray!!!

Tonight is my second Brazilian Booty Blast class at the pole dancing school. I was MISERABLY sore and pouring sweat from that class last week (probably quite literally melting BUTT-er), and am very much looking forward to it again tonight!!!! :)

Sidanne-- You joining the rank and file or just commenting? If you're enlisting, WELCOME! That's some "extreme" exercising your doing!

Pokey--- SLOWLY BACK AWAY FROM THAT 13 incher! (Or at least take it with you to your Booty Blast "pole" class) Imagine the strange looks you'd get if you showed up for a pole class with a zucchini in hand!!!! :) Also, thanks for not spoiling the extreme makeover...I won't be able to watch it until next week but not I'm gonna really look forward to it. I love those shows...did you follow the series "Heavy" or "I Used to be Fat?"...Rainbow turned me on to those. Again, so motivational and easy to put in "machine" time while watching series like those.

Sarge - OMG...."props" at a pole dancing class......

Aaaaaaanyway....This is actually the first weight loss show I've ever followed - I wasn't even religiously into Biggest Loser, I just know the concept and am very familiar with Jillian because of her 30DS and stuff. But I'm liking this Extreme Makeover one!

Oh My Gosh, you read my food log. ok I did have 1 small bag of chips last night and a drink, then I promptly went to bed. I was craving the salt/drink thing. So I walked the dog 2 miles and decided that if I still wanted it when I was done I would walk back to CVS and buy myself a bag. 2 1/2 miles later I had my chip and enjoyed every bite.:D

What is this biggest looser challange I keep hearing about?

I know its a TV show. I dont watch hardly any TV, I need to salvage the few remaining brain cells still functioning :D but what is the challage here, and is it open for contestants ? lol

JayTee
06-21-2011, 05:55 PM
Celrae---hahahah, no I didn't read your food log. The chips were just something I tossed out there because I'm certain almost everyone of us have cheated with chips... but thinking Sarge is EVERYWHERE isn't a bad thing!

Me1st--Elsewhere on the 3FC there is a Biggest Loser Competition. You can join as an "unofficial member" for the summer contest which started two or three weeks ago to make yourself more accountable or you can just hang with us til the Fall one starts. Don't worry, Sarge will make sure you know when to sign up for the next one. Here's the link if you want to check it out tho: http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/biggest-loser-challenges-225/

pokey and rmc - Both of those are excellent ideas for watering my dog on the walk! For tonight I'll have to take a hat and a water bottle to share with him. I may have to go look at PetsMart this weekend and see if they have one of those there.

MadamB - You're right! No "quickie" walk! Ringo and I will make the 3 miles tonight...especially since I didn't have time at work to hit the office gym! :running:

Celrae and Pokey - GREAT IDEA!!!!! :D Why don't the three of us have a side challenge to see who can log the most time working out each week? I definitely think that someone in this platoon can win the BL challenge! Why not one of us?

Tonight's dinner was a large salad with romaine lettuce, shredded cheese (carefully measured), grape tomatoes, and deli turkey with pomegranate vinaigrette dressing. It was delicious! Oh, and I drank water. I've been three full days now without a soda. I haven't had any ice cream or cheesecake or cake or anything unhealthy! I'm on a roll!!!! I want to keep this moving!

I tried to do a real push-up tonight. It didn't happen. I need to work on my upper body strength. I've always thought it would be cool to be able to do real push ups and not the girly ones. Someday...soon!!!!! Just keep working at it!!!!

pokeycactus
06-21-2011, 06:41 PM
Courtney - I'll see your exercise challenge and raise you a push-up challenge! :D I can do three or four regular push-ups before I have to take a break and try again, so I can certainly get better at them myself as well!

Courtney - You'd better log some serious time on that walk, because I'm about to go log another hour at my booty class, which will bring me to 3.5 hours for the week so far!

I think we should do the push-up challenge too, you and me (and Celrae, if she wants!). By the end of this summer, we'll be push-up MACHINES!

CourtneyDaisey
06-21-2011, 07:31 PM
Crap, my father-in-law just left so there's no one to watch my daughter so I can go out and walk. So...let's hit up a 3 mile walk with Leslie Sansone! Who says you can't work out in the house? :running:

Pokey - I'll see your push-up challenge! Hmmm...now to find some way to build up my strength so I can get the first one down! It will only get better from here! Well toned arms, here I come!!!! :D

Courtney - Check it:

http://hundredpushups.com/index.html

It promises to make us able to do 100 consecutive push-ups....

Can you do a plank? That's how I started doing push-ups - just holding my body in the plank position is difficult enough. Then I just worked into lowering myself and pushing back up!

celrae
06-21-2011, 08:45 PM
I can not do the full push-up, just not there yet. I did 10 Burpee's today, my form still needs work. But, I will log all 1/2 A@@ push-up I do, I will get better.

Burpee
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=21dvQyNiTjM

Is it fair to log 60 min. for every 3.5 miles walked? I don't time my walks, they are usually done with the dog or a friend and the pace varies.

CourtneyDaisey
06-21-2011, 08:52 PM
Pokey - Wow! Thanks for that link! I'm bookmarking that one! :D

Celrae - I've never heard of a burpee before...except the seed company called Burpee. I'll have to check out that video and see what in the world that is!

Folks, I just did the 3 mile walk (45 minutes) on the Walk Away The Pounds DVD! My 3 year old was participating with me! LOL! She was so funny walking in place and swinging her arms along with the people on the screen! Every few minutes she'd turn around and high five me and yell, "Good job!" :D She's a riot!

Howdy platoon, hope your all having a great "no excuses" day! ;)

Sarge - I'm eating my spinach and I would love to do some Popeye photo shopping, however I don't know how many platoon members would be up for it as most of them have not posted pictures of themselves. Maybe they are shy. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Me1st - I only spend about $30.00 a week feeding my furry clan so I bet your teen boys have that beat by a long shot. :hungry::hungry: Hope your feeling better soon. :getwell:

Courtney - Sorry they are making it tough on you at work but you are doing awesome. Way to stay strong and dedicated. I especially like your cheesecake donation. I gave my co-workers some chicken lunchmeat that was too fatty and some immatation crab meat which had too much sugar in it. I didn't read the labels well enough at the store. Oh well, live and learn. Keep up the good work. Your doing great!!!

I am doing ok. I really, really, wanted a cheeseburger today. I just couldn't get it out of my head. I really didn't want to cheat but once I get a craving I can't ignore it. :cbg:

but instead of buying one I made one for dinner. Oh, did I mention my cheeseburger was made from 97% fat free burger or that I didn't have the cheese,....or the bread,... or the mayo, or tomatos,....THAT'S right I didn't cheat. I just had a nice patty with a little ketchup. Had you going though didn't I, bet you thought I cheated. No way sister friend, that's my promise to you. NO CHEATING. :woohoo:

CourtneyDaisey

Holy crap... I haven't been here in a couple days and there's a ton of pages!

I love all the competitons going on! This group rocks!

I bought myself a present today and am currently posting on my new laptop! My computer was crapping out and I can't go without a computer because of school sooooo.... :)

I've been staying on track with my exercise but eating wasn't so good yesterday. Our power AND water went out so it was quickly decided that we were going out to eat for dinner. Nothing sucks more than realizing the salad that you ate was more calories than if you would have got a burger. grrr! I need to make a list of approved places/meals for future reference!

I hope everyone is having a great week! I'm off to lala land!

Rated - I wish I could tell my 22 year old self just how beautiful she is! Sometimes that's something you don't really know until you're older. Getting healthier and fitter is great but never think that you aren't cute as a button now!

Enough with the sweet motherly talk - I'm planning to take you down in pounds this week!

not sure if it's too late, but since it's tuesday, i'm aiming to lose 2lbs by sunday. i'll count miles next week...i don't run too much these days, but will intentionally take long walks to supplement my yoga! i'm waiting to digest my dinner a bit before getting to my routine tonight. was totally on plan today, and tweaking my meals for tomorrow.

so much motivation and inspiration here! loving it!

Wow - so much to catch up on again! I clearly can't stay away from here for a few days. ;) Love to see it so active with so many side challenges and throwdowns and so much support!

Weekend at the comic con was great! Got to meet some awesome nerdy types including Jonathan Frakes, Christopher Judge and Felicia Day. Did tons of walking around the con, to and from our hotel a mile away, and around in the evenings to different restaurants and shops. Made excellent food choices for breakfast and lunch and rewarded myself with free evenings for dinner out and some beer.

I do have a 5K coming up this weekend, but it might be tough to get a good time because we're running with our dog in the "pets in the park" event. I imagine there will be many MANY sniffing and playing breaks with all the other dogs around! I'm sure the dog will have a wonderful time though!

Celrae and Courtney - Burpees are HARD. I truly, truly hate them. My boxing trainer knows I hate them, so he makes sure to incorporate them into every workout. Isn't that nice... :p This morning, I ended up doing 45 Burpees and my body was SCREAMING for no more. Then, imagine my shock, confusion, and dismay when I'm at booty class at the pole dancing school tonight and the instructor makes us do 3 sets of 10 Burpees!!!! Someone's out to get me with these stupid Burpees. It's a conspiracy.

Evening all,

Peanut: Oh the dogs will have so much fun . . .

Fillup: Way to make a pledge . . . now MELT SOME BUTT-ER PRIVATE!!

Jeanetty: WTG on the burger deal BUT why leave out the tomatoes???

Kris - Thanks for that advice. I know exactly what you mean since if I could go back even to my 13/14 year old self I would tell her the exact same thing.
I don't know about taking me down in pounds this week we will see on Sunday

My day was good eating wise however, I woke up this morning and my right knee was really hurting me. I know to work through muscle pain but since it was the joint I wanted to take it easy and give it a rest day (I think it was the c25k yesterday that did it). My plan was to do the 30 day shred video today and because of my hurt knee I was going to skip it but then I realized I could do the strength and abs so it may have not been the full workout but at least it was something. It was kind of cool today I noticed that I actually have some arm muscles which I never have before :D

I was back in diet mode food-wise yesterday and today, 1405 cals yesterday and 1145 today. I am packed for tomorrow and will work in the morning before leaving in the afternoon. The travel to the conference will take about 24 hours (I have two layovers, plus a ferry ride), then I'll be in Croatia for just 48 hours before I leave to head back, and I have an overnight stay in Frankfurt on the return trip. It will be a hectic and tiring trip, but I am determined to stay on track with my food come h*ll or high water as it's the only thing I can do right now. I feel like complete crapola still, but I am seriously itching to exercise - would easy things like calf raises and wall push-ups really be that bad? I just need to do SOMETHING; I hate thinking that my hard-earned muscles are turning to mush.

Hope everyone is well, and if I don't have a chance to check during in the next few days, I'll be back on Sunday/Monday.

Wow - so much to catch up on again! I clearly can't stay away from here for a few days. ;) Love to see it so active with so many side challenges and throwdowns and so much support!

Exactly!

Yesterday, I was away for a butt-kicking reason - yoga! I went to the summer solstice celebration in Times Square, and did yoga with 1500 people in the street! It was crazy but AMAZING.

Then we headed over to Bryant Park for another free class - sweet! Then walked around NYC. All told, yesterday was 2hours and 50 minutes of butter be gone!!

Pokey and Celrae - I just realized that I am in LAST PLACE! In our challenge! :o Time to step it up!!!!! Yep, planning on going up to the office gym today during my lunch break. BRING IT ON! I can get another half hour in up there! :D

MadamB - Thanks for the wall push-up idea! Last night I did the girly style ones. I can do a few of those but can't do a "real" push up yet. I'll also try some wall style ones too and see how it goes! And...LMAO@your comments about 13 inches!!!!!!!!! :lol3::lol3::lol3:

Reso - Glad you're still here man! :)

peanutt - You met Jonathan Frakes?!?!?!? COOL!!!!! Honestly, I think my dad looks just like him! I'll have to find a pic of him and one of my dad and put them side by side on here so you can see what I mean! They look so alike to me that they should have been brothers.

TODAY IS HUMP DAY!!!!!

Hmmm....that's one way to get in some exercise! :lol3: Come on weekend! We're halfway there!!!!!!!

Tonight is my weekly grocery shopping trip with my mom. I need a bit of advice from the platoon though. I need something healthy that I can keep in my desk drawer for breakfast for the mornings that I don't have time (or forget) to grab something at the house. I used to keep oatmeal in the drawer but I am so tired of oatmeal and need something more substantial than a granola bar. Got any advice on what I should get?

Oh, today's my Midweek Scale Peek. It shows me at 250.6 right now. I attribute that to Sunday night's dinner celebration. Monday morning the scale said 252.2 and this morning it's 250.6, so it is going down from Monday. Still, that's a 1 lb. GAIN from Sunday's official weigh in! Time to double time it to make sure that Sunday rocks for me!!!!! I am motivated and on fire!!!! It will HAPPEN!!!!! :D

Grr! Finally went back and read pages, had tons typed up and the post devil took it all away! :(

I'm glad so many of us (all?) are staying on track! Got my exercising in this morning and going to try and get a second round in later! As of this morning- 1.6 pounds away from goal! Im glad that I'm so close now because I'm about to throw myself into a crazy spin. I've been looking for part time work for a while now and had to suck it up and stop being picky. Last weekend I applied at food places :( wouldn't you know I finally get a call back and had an interview yesterday... I even got the job. What I'm not thrilled about- it's at friggan mcdonalds :( I DO NOT want to work there but we really need to get our savings back up. I am not bashing people that work there so I hope no one takes this the wrong way... I just REALLY didn't want to. I'm putting my big girl panties on though and going to make the best of it. thankfully it's a small one in a walmart so on my lunch breaks I can get something to eat from there rather than eating crap. I can't wait until I'm done school.

To those of you that work/school/kids... How do you fit exercise in?! I've been very fortunate to have been able to focus on my weight loss journey without working so I have no idea what to expect now. One good thing- I won't be sitting at a job all day and will be on my feet instead so I guess that's a plus.

Someone save me... Lol

Kendrab1223
06-22-2011, 08:30 AM
Courtney- I also cannot do a real pushup! When I first started 30 day shred I did wall push ups because I couldn't do girly ones. Now I'm able to do about 8 girly push ups but then collapse! Lol. I don't know why I can't do a real one! I thought I had some pretty good upper body strength but apparently not!

I'm not sure if this is the place for me...I want and NEED to lose weight and get fit. And I like the idea of kick-butt motivation with no excuses, and no whining.

I have some physical limitations. I'm rehab'ing after a back injury, and am not allowed to do any weight bearing exercise. I can do certain strength training exercises that are approved by my physical therapist, and for cardio I do water aerobics twice a week, and Zumba (sitting on an exercise ball) once or twice a week.

I know that when I lose at least 25-30 lbs, it will mean a huge reduction in the amount of stress on my back.

Currently, I am working two jobs and trying to get the house clean for my niece who is coming to visit for 10 days starting this Saturday.

I don't know how many "miles" I can pledge to do, but I pledge to work hard to get this weight off. I also pledge to lose a pound this week.

So, can I join the platoon? Or should I wait until I can really participate in your Boot Camp?

Diyana--Welcome! We don't turn potential recruits away, particularly ones with signatures that read, "Say it... shout it... believe it... "I AM GOING TO MAKE IT HAPPEN!"...then DO IT!" especially without making excuses and whining! We'll take that 1 pound pledge of yours and if you log in any sort of intentional exercise "miles" during the week give me a total on Sundays and we'll add you to our virtual platoon trek across America. We're about 1/4 of the way to the Golden Gate Bridge. Also, if your "96 to go" ticker is correct you may want to throw in with 3 others here who are kind of on a 100 or bust plan. They just started talking smack to one another so it should be fun. I'll update our pledge board in a few minutes and you can find their names.

Kendrab--Girl! You've got your head screwed on straight! Ok, so it's a job at McD's but WHO CARES!?!?! You're taking care of your family, that's whats important. Think of the fun you're gonna have looking into those faces when you pass the customer the trays of fat laden disgusting globs of fries. Oh, the dialogue that would be going on in Sarge's head would be priceless!

I've been reading back through the last few pages of posts....holy COW we've been extra chatty. Hopefully EVERYONE is being as active in the gym as on this thread!!!!!

I'm LOVING the smack talk and gauntlet throwing. I'll try to summarize these side contests on board rollover. If I've missing something, let me know.

Welcome aboard, diyana!

Kendrab, my only advice is to schedule your exercise, like you would work or class. If you just try to "fit it in", it will be easy to avoid. At least that's how it is for me. :cp: I admire you a lot for sucking it up and committing to McD's. (And good for thinking ahead and planning to avoid eating there.) Hopefully, something else will come along, but in the mean time, a girl's got to do what a girl's got to do.

dcapulet, your yoga sessions yesterday sound great! I saw a clip of it on the news - looked like fun.

I never heard of a Burpee before either. Those look tough. I can do a few push-ups, but not many and not great form. Thanks for that link, pokey. I love all of these programs that are geared toward getting you to progress from a slug to an athlete. :) I would love for my ultimate goal to be "become athletic", rather than "weigh 130 lbs". But, even when I lose all this weight, I'll still be pretty uncoordinated, so I don't think there's much hope of that. :D

The one thing I can't do that frustrates me to no end is the elliptical machine. I can last on the treadmill and bike just about forever, but I go maybe 2 mins on the elliptical and my legs start screaming. I first wanted to use that machine because I thought it might provide a better (butt-er) workout. Now I just want to slay that damn thing! Any advice?

eta: Hey Reso, just want you to know that you've been the bug in my ear at the gym lately. As I'm getting ready to stop at the 30 or 45 min mark, I've been thinking, "Reso puts this mileage in before breakfast! Keep going!!" So, thanks for that.

Happy Morning and Hump day to all!

4 mile run, plus 1 mile walk. Done!

Burpees are amazingly torturous! Good job to the ones getting them done. They will definitely kick your butt-er quickly.

Kendra-I agree with RMC. You have to schedule your workout in. Just like you schedule other activities. It's a priority and you just continue to treat it as that. If that means getting up early, or changing into workout gear right after work so you don't talk yourself out of it. I write my workout right into my planner. I usually tell people what I'm going to do too--so then I have to do it or face saying I wimped out.

HOLY MOLY! I am way behind on posts! I have been super sore since the warrior dash! I love that you all are adding extra challenges! Good Luck to you all! I know you'll do great!

Trying to push myself into the 180's this week. I dont even remember the last time i was in the 180s! If there is anyone else out there that wants to do some type of challenge, I would absolutely love to!

Sooo Im going to New York this Friday!!! I won a 3 day/2 night trip for 2 to NYC!!! I never win anything!! im super excited. Does anyone have any recommendations on this to do or places to see in NYC? Ive only been there once and it was soooo long ago! I just hope I can eat healthy and get some type of exercise in!!

Hope everyone is MELTIN THAT BUTT-ER!!!!!!!

GOOD AFTERNOON PLATOON!!!!

Due to a meeting I wasn't able to get my butt-er up to the office gym on lunch. Grrrr! I'll have to make up for that this evening in exercise somehow. If someone is home to watch Brenna I will take Ringo out for a walk. If not, Brenna and I can walk with Leslie Sansone again. And...pushups!!!!

Pokey - I did Week 1 Day 1 of your 100 pushup website last night. Had to do them girly style though. I REALLY want to do "real" push ups but I'll make do with girly style until I get to that point. I certainly keep trying though! One day, I will succeed and do push ups for real!!!!

kneed2lose - CONGRATS!!!! :cheer: That last time I went to NYC was in 1994 so I have no recommendations but it was a fun trip! Enjoy yourself!

Kneed--New York!! When I hit a new city, and I've done this in NY, I always take one of those double-decker bus tours that allow you to hop and and hop off as many times as you like all day long. That way you get to see max stuff. Maybe try Hot Tix for last minute cut rate tickets to Broadway show! You'll walk A LOT! Don't be too afraid of the train system. It's actually ok. HAVE FUN! AND 180'S --- HERE COMES KNEED!!!!

Sarge just finished 10.71 machine miles (1118 cal. burn)... FEELING GOOD!! BRING ON THE REST OF THE WEEK!

GET OUT THERE AND BURN BUTT-ER!

Welcome Diyana!!!

Sarge- please remind me alllllll the time how much crap is in that nasty food. I'm going to smell like it. ugh. thankfully this is only a part time job!

rmc and cheshire- I'll definitely make sure I schedule it in. Right now I have such a system :( Another kicker to the mc d's job- overnights (which I have never done before but want to try since it would work best around son's school activities/family time/etc). I'm hoping to keep my schedule of waking up and starting my hour of exercise within 30 min of waking up but we'll see.

Think about that and put a smile on your face as you basically pass a bag of fat to customers. It'd make my day whiz by!

Special Shout Out---As the platoon has grown larger and larger I just want to recognize the members who have been melting butt-er since Day 1 of Sarge's Boot Camp (3/3/11)...thru thick and thin...stand up and take a bow: MADAMGOOEY, RESO (aka Resolute), CHESHIRE, & PEANUTT! kneed2lose = Congrats on the NYC tickets and the warrior march looks awsome!

Kendrab1223 = I do my stretches in between the kids going to school. (Trev my 16 year old gets himself up and ready but has to be given his meds for ADHD at 6:15am than I do stretches till I have to wake Cory my 15year old fosterkiddo at 7:00 for his specialized school an meds. We all go to gym before dinner and I do my 10 min Pilates after the animals go to bed. I squeez in targeted movments during the day...if Im standing long I do ballette leg lifts/ sitting long I do Kegals (hay, thats a muscel too lol)/ always keep good posture and thats a work out in itself all day long/ and we try an fit kayaking or Mnt biking in every weekend. Its easyer and a way to bond if the kids are involved.

Diyana = Im also a new recruit and will be loosing 100lbs, welcome to the good fight ;)

speaking of weight .., I started the week at 223 and pledged 2lbs.
gained 1 yesterday lost 1 today so Im at square 1 :p . I was hoping with all the throwing up and drenching in sweat that I'd loose like 10lbs baahahaha, no such luck.

I cant wait till I can peel myself outta this sweaty bed and do my Px90 streches and Pilates again. Also looked up the C25k the platoon talks about and will be trying out running (trying to run lol) which is kinda huge for me sence I would allways say "I'll run when something big and hairy is chasing me and not a moment sooner"

Just had a very pleasant surprise on the scale. Last time I weighed myself (about a month ago), I was 245...then lately I kept feeling "fatter" and "fatter", so I figured I had to be around 250 by now. I just weighed myself, and I'm 238.6! I am so thrilled! :woohoo: I still pledge to lose 1 lb by Sunday!

kneed2lose- NYC!!! that's where i'm from! if you want to get some exercise in, i would definitely walk across the brooklyn bridge. it's absolutely beautiful, and its a nice walk. you can also walk to the brooklyn heights promenade, right off the bridge, which provides scenic view of the manhattan skyline and its a cute neighborhood with cafes, bookstores, and cute shops. also, if you want to go out at night, i recommend the west 4th area- lots of bars, good nightlife, without the pretense. i use yelp.com a lot, so that might be a good place to see what bars/entertainment you want to see. also- take the subway- cheapest way to get around! hopstop.com will help you get from point a to point b. just be mindful of weekend subway re-routes, which can be a pain in the butt, but usually ok. have a GREAT time!

today has started off well! slept a little longer than i wanted to, but that's alright. weighed myself in this morning, and it looks like i've dropped some water weight, which is encouraging. going to take a long walk with my friend and her dog, and then yoga later. trying to melt that BUTT-ER :)

RMC-become athletic", rather than "weigh 130 lbs". But, even when I lose all this weight, I'll still be pretty uncoordinated, so I don't think there's much hope of that.

This is currently my goal. It hard to wrap my head around how a athletic person looks or acts. I don't have any good examples or even know what that means to me.

peanutt- what I was going to say earlier today is that you have been an inspiration to me. Lots of good information and I appreciate the contribution.

Kendra- Schedualing your workouts is the right idea. I am not very good at that. Congrats on your loss and new job. You have to take care of yourself and your family, it is hard to both.

Lots of exercise today the CrossFit class was canceled so I di tired some work on my own. Then I met a friend for tennis during my midday break. Very tired right now and I need to clean my own house. Off I go.

Kendra - I worked at McDonalds when I was in high school and again after I got out of the Navy. The managers I had in high school were horrible and the job sucked! But the store I worked at after my Navy days was so much fun! There was a great crew and the managers created a lot of fun competitions. So, you never know... just like any job, it really depends on who's the boss! But yeah... there is nothing you can do about that greasy smell that you will come home with every time you work...

Been getting some great workouts this week, but won't have time today. But, that is ok because we are moving at work (plus it was my last day) so there were tons of boxes and equipment to move. I was sweating my buns off all day! I was so busy that I forgot to eat lunch (and that NEVER happens!) I run (ran) this one person IT department, so had to move lots of monitors, computers, server racks... all kinds of heavy weird stuff. I have mixed feelings about leaving after 11 years, but it really is time for me to move on. That is the reason I went back to school... so I could move on to bigger and better things!

We leave for vacation tomorrow and I haven't even started packing yet! I really want a Pomegranate martini tonight, but will resist the urge and use those calories for something healthier. I better start packing! I will probably not be on the boards for a couple of days, but will post my stats on Sunday.

Between the extra jogging I am doing and all the walking taking place at Kids Camp, I am exhausted. The heat has surpressed my appetite, which is not really a negative...I think I need to increase my water though.

And for the sheer heck of it, here's my Dad's pic! He honestly does look like Jonathan Frakes to me! The pics I have of him in his younger days look JUST LIKE Jonathan Frakes in his first season of TNG!

Guess what?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! I hit my goal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 135.1 this morning! Sure, I'm .1 away, but I'm sure after all the jumping, running to my bedroom to freak out and tell my hubby, dancing around, and then getting in a bad@ss exercise, that that .1 is gone forever!

I just cannot believe this. 215 pounds on July 15th and I have lost 80 pounds and my baby girl isn't even a year yet. I really never thought this was going to happen and it almost didn't! In March I had given up.In April my friend got me back in the mindset I needed to be in but it was when I joined this group that I really started busting my butt! A huge thank you to everyone here who has helped me through all of my mess ups and emotions and kept me on track. It means more to me than you'll ever know :)

I need to get ready for my orientation. I'm in such a good mood that I could give a crap less that I'm not a McDonalds employee. Nothing is knocking me down this morning!!!!

GOOD MORNING PLATOON!!!!!

I think today Kendra deserves a HUGE round of applause!!!!! :D

Yesterday I didn't get in any exercise at all, unless you count grocery shopping (which I didn't count). I got off work at 4:30PM, went and picked up my youngun', and met my mom at the grocery store. After we got to her house I had to separate her groceries and mine, write her a check for my part, get Brenna fed, and then we packed my groceries in my car and finally we headed home. Brenna and I got home around 9:30PM last night. She headed straight for bed and I put away the groceries. Then it was time for my husband to come home from work and we headed for bed too. I let myself down by not having time to get in any exercise yesterday. I have plans to hit the office gym today though while on lunch break! :strong:

I am so ready for this weekend! Just another two days of work and we can be away from the office for a couple of days! I have weekend plans to go kayaking with my friend! That's going to be fun!

Great job Kendra! :carrot: You should really proud of yourself - you are definitely an inspiration to the rest of us!

And congrats to MADAMGOOEY, RESO (aka Resolute), CHESHIRE, & PEANUTT. My biggest problem has always been "sticking with it", so I really admire your perseverance. And Sarge, you are a tower of strength - thanks for kicking butt when necessary. :kickbutt:

Just back from the gym where I put in 6 miles and strength training. I don't have to cart any kids today, so I plan to go back this evening for another round.

Have a great day everyone.

Congratulations Kendra!! Awesome job! Enjoy that extra spring in your step I know you have today!

GOOD AFTERNOON PLATOON!!!

Last night while at my mom's house I think I pulled a ligament or something in my knee. It hurts and pops every time I walk. But I didn't want to let that deter me from getting in some gym time on lunch break. So I went upstairs and concentrated on the weight machines. My arms are so going to be SORE tomorrow! Speaking of sore, bring on the push ups tonight!!!! :D Gotta enjoy that ache! ;) I hope that my knee feels better by the time I get home. I know this sounds weird, but I REALLY want to take the dog for that 3 mile walk this evening! If not, I'll have to find some exercises in the house that I can do. I just really want to add some miles to my week! I look forward to hitting my goal of 10 miles this week and am over the halfway point!

Jeanettey - Motivation is a probem for me today and I'll vent about that on my blog tonight when I make a post. But my husband is really making it difficult to remain cheat free. It's REALLY not nice when he's eating a slice of egg custard pie, takes the fork with a little bit on it, and sticks it right in my face asking me to have some. I successfully pushed it away and told him that I wanted to stick with my 100% cheat free plan. He eventually stopped bugging me, but I want him to respect the fact that I WANT to make this work! You know, we have ice cream and pie in the house right now and I am not even tempted to try even a smidge of any of it! Why can't he respect that? :?: Oh well. I will continue to remain strong and run from the temptation! :D I will persevere! I hope things are going well for you and no family members are trying to force feed you pie!

Courtney-- Tell your hubby to get the h*ll out of your face. If he wants to stay fat and eat that cr*p, let 'em!

Sorry guys, but Sarge has recently been accused of becoming soft as of late and he has no tolerance for saboteurs!

Mission complete for day here... 10.23 "machine miles" / 1,214 cal burn! Feeling sweat-dripping GREAT!

Reso--Why so quiet?!?!? We don't have to come down a rabbit hole to pull you out of a funk again, do we?

Courtney - I agree with Sarge about what to tell hubby. :nono: I hope your knee feels better soon. As much as you can, use R.I.C.E. (Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation). Good for you for doing an upper body workout at lunch time. :bravo: on resisting temptation.

Sarge - Great job on all those "machine miles"! You burned over 1,200 cals? That's outstanding!! :woohoo: :bravo:

Kendrab1223 = yes Nashua lol, I mnt bike in Mines falls park/ kayak the Merrimack river ;) and hope to also escape to Fl some day lol.
annnnnd CONGRATS! :bravo: great inspiration for us all, you must be just beamming with joy today!

Peanutt= thanks for the heads up! will def keep an eye out for the next Guild season!

CourtneyDaisey = might help you as well~ when my fiance or the evil teenager boys offer me no-no foods (whatever their intentions) I take it and hold it up to my *ss and say "hows it look?, this is where its gonna end up, what do ya think?" than I plop it on their plate and excuse myself. I find it funny and a way to take back control of the food I may have desired as well as makinng them feel like a tool (teehehehe my fav part)

Sometimes the teenagers get a little too sarcastic and taunt me with food jokingly (evil teenagers lol)but its still a temptation...so I tell them I will have it and quit my diet but they have to give me the sponge baths when Im 80 and 800lbs! lol

Pretty sure my Excersisum type sickness is over with (yay) and started my C25k ~ did the 30min today! (thats awsome considering I am NOT a treadmill person/ runner type) also did my Px90 stretches... oh and lost my 10lbs! Im officaly 222lbs and never going back to 232lbs.

A bunny for every 5 lbs off :bunny2: :bunny2:

Thank you everyone :) :) I've definitely felt on top of the world all day. To make things a little better- today at my orientation the district manager kept calling me out in the group of new hires as management material and even kept me after for a few minutes to talk about it with me. It would be great experience for me and much better pay so we'll see what happens!

Courtney- i feel ya on having a sabotaging hubby! Mine constantly says "one bite won't kill you" and "how can you enjoy yourself not eating these cookies with us?!" my hubby originally started the journey with me and stopped after a month or so...

Madam- you amaze me with all your crunches and push ups!!!!!

Sarge- thanks for my medal!

I've been going back and forth all day on if I should continue to try an get to 125 or not. I have loose skin already on my tummy and just recently it's started on my upper thighs. I'm wondering if 10 more pounds will just make it work. I'm pretty happy where I'm at (with clothes on) so I don't know. I guess I could try maintaining and if I lose more than it's just an added bonus? I don't know!

I hope everyone has had a great day! Later after the kiddos go to bed I'm going to try and figure out how to get my before and after pics side by side. I'm being begged on my facebook for my "final" picture lol
