Woo hoo! Thank GOD for a quick recovery from my sodium laden weekend camping! :dizzy: Although tomorrow is my official WI day, I went ahead and updated my ticker today. I'm heading to the beach for an overnight adventure with my oldest DS so I won't be able to WI tomorrow. I'm super happy with my 2.2 loss this week and though it would have been bigger were I able to WI tomorrow...just imagine how much bigger my loss will be next week!! My goal is to lose 10lbs/month so I am definitely on track for that!

Oh yea, and I do have a piece of good news. My DH and youngest DS are heading back home - a whole week early. :D Everything's fine, they were just ready to come back. YAY! They should be here by Saturday night...just in time for Father's Day! :carrot:

Diana -- LOL! You're still cracking me up with that story. I LOVE IT! And yikes on the sodium gain. That's the good thing about paying attention to sodium though...at least you know the gain isn't fat.

Angie -- Wow, you've got a quite a schedule going on there! That's one of the cons of summer time...we're always so busy! Good luck staying focused and getting back OP quickly once things settle down.

Gale -- Oh Gale. I wish I were there to hug you, smack you, and then hug you again. It definitely sounds like it's time to reboot and get back to basics or something. You may also need to detox your house for while so you can detox yourself and get that sugar out of your system. We're here for you! And contrary to what you said....You DO know what to do. You just gotta figure out why you won't do it. :hug:

Vixsin -- Scale shmale! Great job with the run!

Ona -- Have a great time doing all the lovely exercising tonight! I completely agree that sometimes you just have to break up with the scale for a few days!

Coondocks -- Ditto with you. If the scale is bringing you down, it's not worth the trouble. Take a break, reset yourself, then let the scale make amends with you! :hug:

Up 1 lb, understandbly so.. My best friend came over last night and we indulged in pizza and wine. I did however get in an extra litre of water so I offset some of the sodium already I think.

Vix - Im totally challenging you to a run-off when my ankle is better :D :D :D
Im hoping to get in some more yoga tonight, it didn't bother me yesterday so at least that's something.

I think i've given up weighing for the month, my body is doing weird things the last week and I don't want to see that number and get discouraged. Logically I know I shouldn't, things happen, but when are we always logical ha ha!

OOOOHHHHHH I loves me a challenge!!!!! ;) Bring it!

There is nothing wrong with taking a break from Scale-Stinks-Alot. Keep your eating nice and clean and focus on getting your exercise in and then maybe you and the scale can talk things out at the beginning of next month. I find that it is SO important to focus on how you're feeling rather than that number. It makes things easier.

Thanks for the support everyone. :hug: You guys are my weight-loss rocks (which sounded a lot more complimentary in my head! :lol:)

Ona - You're right. I will absolutely end up right back where I was if I keep choosing to make poor decisions. I am in control of this, no one (and nothing!) else can cause me to fail in this instance.

Jami - Thank you, dear, for the hugs and for the much-needed slap. [Putting butt into 1st gear and heading forward] - Restarting today. So far so good, and I won't be eating after bedtime tonight. I promise you that.

Dang, Jami - When I make a promise to you, apparently I really mean it! :D Kids are in bed, hubby is at worship practice and all I want to do is eat the mnm's I have in the pantry (my 2 year old's "potty treats".) But, I keep remembering that I promised I wouldn't eat tonight so I'm going to log off the 'puter and watch some useless TV with my big glass of ice water and unwind without food. :)

Okay so, DS and I completely changed our plans today. We ate breakfast, headed out on the freeway, and one hour into our trip to the beach we see it...Six Flags Discovery Kingdom! We both immediately agreed that we should spend the day riding roller coasters and watching Shouka the Killer Whale! What a GREAT day! Now we're back home, a teeny bit sun burned and with achy feet but so happy we did it!

I also completely forgot and I'm not sure how...BUT...as of this morning I am no longer MORBIDLY OBESE! The Wii told me my BMI was 39.96! Holy crap! :carrot:

Beck -- 7lbs so far! You're doing amazing so far!

Vixsin/Coondocks -- I LOVE the challenge you guys have got goin' on! :cheer2:

Mandy -- Yay that the weight is still coming off even though you've been temporarily benched. Yes please get to that podiatrist soon! You've got to figure out what's going on with that dang ankle.

Gale -- :carrot: :cheer2: GREAT JOB!!

Gale- :hug: stay strong - you can do this !!
Up 0.8 - totally bamboozled :dunno: my weight has been up and down like a yoyo, and I have stayed true to my plan with no major deviations, so I'm out of ideas. Seems my body wants to be at the goal I originally set, and not in the 140's like I want !
I need to shake things up a bit - but not sure how. So far this month I've lost 2 measly pounds :( I am certain there is more to lose.....

Good Morning, Everyone! :wave: TGIF! I hope you have great Friday and fantastic weekend! Enjoy! :dance:

Wow! Things have gotten really ugly over here! :lol: The food I had last night for dinner was really salty, again. :( So, here we are, TTOM is ending, I went to a Japanese restaurant this week and had really salty food last night. Not a pretty sight! I am so glad for the maintenance range that I set up for myself. My calories yesterday were good and I exercised. I try to avoid the sodium as much as I can, but stuff happens. :dunno: That's all I can do. I suspect I will do some serious peeing sometime soon. :lol:

Calories for yesterday: 1440 + :coffee:

Weigh In: 149.2 (TTOM)

Hi, I'm alive. Life has been insane here. Some of it is good (gettin a new car, new to me anyhow: a 2006 Dodge Charger Daytona R/T that only has 35,000 miles on it, a V8 Hemi, amazing crash test results in the real world, and a back seat that will hold 3 teenagers if I need it to) and some is not good (I thought for a minute there I might be getting a new divorce, but we're good now) and some of it just is (been working on getting the garden in). The bad parts including the hubby issues sent me completely off plan for a while there. I even ate at IHop two days in a row! I have been back on plan for a few days now as far as my food goes. The busy busy busy has kept me from the gym a lot this month. For the first time this year there are more days this month that I have no worked out than days that I have. Grrr! On the bright side, the house is about 2-5 more hours away from being ready for the homestudy (the inside anyhow, we still have some yard stuff that needs clearing away to include some storm damage that still needs tending).

That got long, whew! Today I am 176 (down from a high of 181.8 right after I finished being completely off plan).

I will never catch up on everything, but I did at least skim through quickly and I do have to say:

Starbrite - :congrat: on reaching goal and the new job! :woohoo:

Vixsin - I like the hair, cute!

Eclipse - :congrat: on making it to goal! :yay:

JamiSue - :woohoo: for not morbidly obese. I remember that day, that was a good one. Who wants their body to be labeled morbid?

Everyone - :wave: and :hug:

And now I am off to the gym! :woohoo:

Oh it's an ugly morning here as well. Yes I've committed the sin of sodium many times over in the last week...but a 5lb gain in 5 days...c'mon! Of course TTOM showed up this morning, so that could have something to do with it. I'm taking accountability for the sodium, the high calorie days, the lack of exercise...but please, I did not eat 17,500 calories above my daily burn this week!

Back in a bit for personals...

OMG I am so sore today, legs are screaming. I did a few squats and my ankle felt fine, so I decided hey I'll throw some Bob in the DVD player, get taht 20 minute small routine in and do a 30 minute hike on the treadmill.
My quads are NOT happy about it . . . then again they probably are since they havent been worked like that in a while.

I forgot how much I really do love exercising, and I love that sweat you build up . . . haven't decided if that's gross and weird or just awesome LOL

Vix - I officially throw down and challenge you!! I don't know how we'd even set that up, distance? Time jogged? If it's actually straight jogging time I need to build up the stamina to catch up LOL. But I'm game.

Jami - Join on in with the throw down!! a BIG congrats to you for the milestone!! :bravo:

Angie - Are youi keeping up with the incline walks? You def didn't eat that many calories, keep on top of your water and watch it go away, you can do it!!

I'll bbl . . . . another breakfast meeting to attend, grrrrrrr, at least I saw a fruit tray go in :)

Fight for what you want Star :sumo:I've "had" those same thoughts too. :?: like.. I'm i suppose to weight in the 180's range :dunno:

I know I'm solid and big-boned..read somewhere that if a person can't loss anymore(no matter how hard they try) then that's the weight they're suppose to be at or something like that...IDK

but... whatever..We're gonna push our bodies are hard as we can/eat according to the life we want to live and just see what's the real deal ;)

Starbrite -- Hang in there! In terms of shaking things up, is there a new type of exercise you'd be interested in trying? Maybe a healthy cooking class or something to get some new ideas for good on plan meals? Are you counting calories?

Diana -- Hi I'm Angie and I'm a sodium-a-holic :wave: Sodium will be the ruin of me I swear. I also have a sodium/TOM combo happening here...not pretty at all! I'm hoping to pee the day away as well..I hear asparagus helps :)

Roxy -- :hug: Sounds like this month has been really tough on you, and I'm glad to hear you are in a better place emotionally now. Good luck with the last few hours of prep for your home study.

So happy things worked out how they did yesterday because that means I was able to WI today and guess what?!?! I MET MY NEXT MINI GOAL!!! 10% GONE FOREVER!! So freakin' happy and bit teary because I did it. I did it with my own will and your support! THANK YOU!

Starbrite -- You could be right...maybe your body is happy wear its at. What's behind wanting to be lower? Although, you said "no major deviations." A 0.8 gain isn't a major gain so maybe the minor deviations are enough? Maybe it's depending on what type of food the deviations are with? Obviously sodium is one but too much protein could be another culprit. But you've also been working out crazy so maybe it truly is muscle gain. Just trying to through some ideas out there. You're a pro...you'll find the answer somewhere! :hug:

Diana -- Yikes! Since it's sodium, you'll get back where you need to be fast. I'm seeing that this Japanese restaurant seems to be your nemesis! :)

Veronica -- YAY!!!

Roxie -- Boo plateaus! You'll break through...keep with it!

Roxy -- Oh Roxy! I'm so sorry! :hug: You and your husband have had a lot going on with the tornados hitting so close to home and preparing your house for the munchkins...that can pile on a lot of stress. I'm SO happy you've been able to step back and let things calm down. BIG HUGS!! :hug: We're so happy to have you back in one piece!

Angie -- I've only recently begun to realize how quickly my body will retain water...even with just tiny over indulgences with sodium. And if I do that, day after day, I gain just like you did. I gained 4.8 lbs in JUST 3 days last week! But I dug in, drank my water, minded my calories carefully and it came back off in two. Whew! You can do it!!!

Coondocks -- Wow! You really brought it yesterday! GREAT job! No, thanks on joining the challenge...I'm still not ready to try running but I sure am gonna enjoy watching you two go at it! :D

Mine is a LONG one this morning! WOW!! Sorry for that. LOL

Hi GirlyGirl!!! I missed you! I was thinking about you yesterday and meant to post it. I'm really happy to hear about how the house is coming along for the homestudy. I am really excited to hear about that. I am interested in adoption. Not yet because of starting school in September, but possibly after im used to that after a couple of years. I know I want to expand my family, but I also know that I don't think I want to be pregnant again. The biggest reason is because I am adopted. I want to give someone that same chance given to me. And my Maxwell would LOOOOOOOVE to have someone else around. I really look forward to hearing about this journey for you. I'm sorry about the turbulence with the hubs, sending you thoughts of positive, healthy, open communication for the 2 of you. Congrats on the new ride! ;)

Shylah: Hang in there and keep up the clean eating. Force that scale to move! :high: You can do it!

Veronica: I must have missed you joining somewhere along the line! :welcome3: This is a great place! We're glad to have you!

Diana: Sorry about all that silly sodium and of course TOM doesn't help either!!!! Thankfully, you're keeping yourself on plan and doing what you can do. You show us all time and time again that consistency IS the key. Thank you for that. :hug:
____________________________

As for me, I am up another .2 to 189.6. Ahh...I do love this dance. :dancer: I am exhausted this morning. Only slept 5ish hours. I also worked out a little yesterday and feel rather achey today. :tired: It's rainy today and I'd like to curl up under my desk and take a little nap. But let me tell you WHY that scale doesn't bother me even in the SLIGHTEST!!! :yay:

I am officially declaring yesterday to be "Vixsin Humanitarian NSV Day"...next year I vote that we have a parade!

1. I found a "free clothes" sale at the spaghetti supper last night and got 6 or 7 tshirts, a few shirts for work, a couple of sweatshirts, and 3 pairs of shorts for the boy and 2 tshirts and a sweatshirt for him....ALL for free. WIN!!!!! :yay:

2. A family (client) of ours here at my job was affected by the recent tornado and we set up our conference room with all of the donations we received and that family was able to come into the office and get some much needed stuff like comforters, dishes, pots and pans, you name it, we had it and there's more stuff on the way, so we'll be able to give to our other families as well. BIG, BIG WIN!! :yay:

3. That same family came to MY house last night and picked up things that I had for them. They got from me: a full size bed - mattress, box spring, and frame, a coffee table and end table set, more pots and pans, and some dishes. My son got to meet them. I explained to him what I was doing and why they were taking our stuff. I think he dug it. HUGE PARENTAL WIN!!! :yay:

4. Back to the clothes, 2 HUGE NSV's happened for me. I now fit into a Mens tshirt size MEDIUM. :yikes: and today I am wearing a womens size LARGE!!! :yikes: I've said it before and it's appropriate now, I've never been this girl before and HOLY COW is it great getting to know her!!! I totally blame you guys and my 2 main threads for getting me and helping keep me here! I love you guys! :grouphug:

Take THAT, scale!!!!!! HA!!!

{sticks her tongue out at the scale and skips away}

Coondocks -- Good job on your exercise last night! No, I've been exercise-less for at least 3 days...will be back on my treadmill today at lunch. I'm throwing down with TOM!

Ona -- Morning! Great job on your run! Thank you, I will keep at it...I'm just having a bit of a tantrum over the gains...;) I want the weight to keep coming off, but I'm so tired of trying hard...lol.

Jami -- Yay you! Congratulations on your 10% loss! You're right, I'm going to dig in and see what I can get off in the next two days.

Vixsin -- I'm loving your energy today, please send me some enthusiasm..lol. I loved all your NSV's -- ":high:

Thanks you guys - it's why I love this place so much ! Nope no deviations (minor or major, no sodium etc) Can't get my head round it, but have had a particularly nasty TOM and Tuesdays workout was scary in it's intensity. The reasoning behind the 147 is to be at the optimum weight for my height. I also think there's more to lose, I know I've some skin issues, but I still think there's some fat in there too :) Ho hum- like Ona always says - just keep fighting :sumo:

Ah..i know you're tired Angie :hug: I'm tired too (been fighting since 09' non-stop everyday :dizzy:) but if i let thoughts of "being tired"set-in.. it's just an opportunity for other negative thoughts to creep in. keeping our mind right/thoughts together, is the only way we can reach our goal.

when you look at the big picture,you had TTOM w/all the drama is brings,the extra sodium you had..that can be flushed out,You haven't been eating a lot of junk,learned some stuff that will help you and are still on top of everything so you're doing great really.

I think I need to switch the % of carbs/fats/proteins but its so hard:( my eating is all over the place. I need to find a happy medium. I wi at 227 today last week I had got down to 223.

hello everyone! up .2 today to 264.8, and a loss of 1.7 for the week.

i was hoping for 2 pounds, but when one can't exercise, and when one slightly over indulges (meaning having 4 or 5 pieces of candy instead of 1 or 2 - but not the whole bag like before!) in candy, i suppose that's the result.

it's still a loss for the week, so i can't be too grumpy. just hoping i can make my 4th of july goal of 260lbs.

Coondocks - Definitely awesome, not gross or weird. I love me a good sweat!

Ona - I don't believe that about it being the weight the person is supposed to be at because sometimes there are medical reasons or it's just that the person has been losing for a while and their body needs a rest or something. If you were to decide to stop because you were happy that would be one thing, but not because you think it's impossible. Bah!

Angie - thank you

JamiSue - Congrats on meeting your mini goal and thank you.

Vixsin - Thank you, and trust me, as this goes you will be hearing about the adoption stuff. I am sooo excited and everyone I even slightly know hears about it, lol. Congrats on your awesome day yesterday with all the wonderful NSVs.

My regular instructor had to be gone today :( Her sub for the weight lifting portion was not so good. She did not give enough time to transition between exercises, the beat of the music she used did not go well with the beat of the workout, she herself was only lifting 10 pounds and was doing it with some seriously horrible form. Due to trying to rush between exercises and my muscles not being able to decide if they should follow the music or the workout beat, I have at least 3 muscle injuries. Grrr! I am so glad that I am not new to this or it would be even worse. I didn't see any people that were completely new, so that's good at least. The girl who subbed for her for zumba is the other instructor that I sometimes take zumba with and she's good, so that was also good. However, still grrrr! Hot shower now.

Star Hang in there. Sometimes we are thrown a challenge to see if we can do it, and you can!

Vero Congrats on the 1.8 pounds!

ShylahEQ Hang in there and keep your focus. You will start losing again.

Fitgirlygirl I'm sorry to hear that things got so crazy for you. Sending positive thoughts your way for you and your DH. :hug:

Coondocks I've gotten to the point, that if I like the workout, I really like working out. Today I worked out with Bob, too. I hate weight work, but I find myself wanting to push harder during his workout. That's totally unheard of for me because I hate weights.

Ona Hi :wave: Great job on the workouts! Don't tell us you can't do it! YOU CAN DO IT! If you see fat and you want it gone, you can do it.

Angie Hi, there, my partner in crime! :wave: :lol: ;) Sodium + TTOM = :devil: Bad stuff! Ha Ha it's funny that you mentioned asparagus. I had a asparagus omelet with a ton of asparagus in it this morning. Guess what's for breakfast tomorrow? An asparagus omelet! :lol:

JamiSue Congrats on the .5. Thank goodness I only go to the Japanese restaurant once a month. :lol: I think the problem came in with it being TTOM, too.

Vixsin Awesome NSV's! It gave me goosebumps to read your post! :hug: I know you feel wonderful with all of the positives going on.

Diana - Im the same with Bob, for some reason it's not so teadious to get through a weight routine and to push that little bit more with those dvd's. I wish I had the push to do it toay. Jack finally went to sleep, it's 10 pm, i'm tired and still sore. I got in my 11000 steps today . . . . its a rest night for sure.

Angie - did you get in the treadmill at lunch, I think I may have to start walking on my lunch hours, I need that extra uumph in the afternoons.

Vix - Im so game for that, I can jog mile . . . I think ha ha . . . . I'll work up to it slowly but I'll do it, I know I will. I like the idea of adding the 1/4 gradually, I think that'll help me a lot. Woo Hoo its a throw down!!

Jami - C'mon . . . . join the throw down girl! I can barely job for 6 minutes right now . . . Walk, strut, jog, hop, skip or jump if you want, get the mile in and we are good to roll :) :)

FirGirly - I totally don't feel so weird now, thanks :D

Diana -- lol about the asparagus! I'm all out...have to pick some up tomorrow.

Coondocks -- Yes, I finally got back on the treadmill today. I did 2km and I also did some housecleaning and yard-work; good to get some exercise in!

I made an amazing Butter Chicken recipe for dinner tonight (well, it was I Can't Believe its Not Butter Chicken...lol). It worked out to be 450 cal per serving, so not too bad, and it was simply delicious.

I am down 1 pound to 175. I have decided to drop my carb intake some. I don't want to do low carb, just maybe lower carb. I had lab work done and while they are both still within the healthy range my A1C (diabetes test) and my triglycerides were up from the last time I had blood tests. The best way to lower those again is to drop my carbs a bit. I have no idea what to drop them to though. My calorie intake is not always the same, so I have always gone by percentages and have been at 60% carb. I'm trying to study the whole carb thing and decide on an appropriate level. If anyone has advice I'm all ears (or eyes in this case).

Diana - Thanks. We're good now, we just had temporary insanity from all the stress I think. Congrats on your whoosh today.

starbrite - I hope your son has an awesome b-day!

Mandy - gorgeous! sorry about the working on Saturday

Down .4 today to 214.8 -- it's not a lot, but considering this is the first full day of TOM, not too shabby either. I netted very low calories today, about 1100, but I'm so not hungry right now. We spent the day in the sun and despite drinking lots of water I've barely peed, so I think I'm a little dehydrated...still chugging the water now.

Starbrite -- Congratulations on the 1.6

Mandy -- Another great picture! Sorry you had to work so early today...

Diana -- Woohoo, down 2.2!!!

Kukkie -- :wave: Hope you enjoyed our beautiful weather today!

Ona -- Good job on your .4 today. The cantaloupe slush sounds delicious, thank you for sharing the recipe.

Shylah -- Here is the recipe...I used breast instead of thigh meat, and subbed ICBINB for the butter, and brown rice instead of jasmine rice...lol...every little bit helps. Slow Cooker Butter Chicken (http://allrecipes.com/recipe/slow-cooker-butter-chicken/detail.aspx)
Good job on your .2 :)

Gale -- I didn't know you were TTC -- good luck!

Roxy -- Congratulations on your 1lb today :) I aim for 30-40% carbs, not very scientific...I'm going more for the 40% right now as I found I started losing a bit better when I added in more carbs. The trick for me is to not let that lead to even more carbs...lol.

Angie Great job on the .8! I realized Friday that I was also having a small allergic reaction (on top of the Japanese Restaurant and TTOM :lol:). I really hadn't had much of a (TMI alert) BM for a couple of days. Also, my lips were having their usual allergic reaction. Just a FYI the BM and lip reaction are only related by the fact that it's an allergic reaction I get. :lol: (I thought that was funny, moving on. . . .:lol:) Anyways! ;) Yesterday everything was improving. I think I know where I got food from the allergic reaction, though. I never know for sure because the reaction doesn't show up immediately. I am planning to get tested, soon, for the foods that I am suspicious of. My allergic reactions have really improved since I have avoided the foods in the mustard family. The only problem I seem to be having is that most seasonings, sauces, dressings, have some sort of mustard seed or mustard powder in it. Most manufacturers don't list mustard, they group it under "natural flavors". I haven't had salad dressing since since I've been suspicious of mustard. Last night I served salad and I used a very small amount of dressing. It wasn't a mayo based dressing and it didn't list mustard, either. We'll see if I have a reaction. If I don't I will keep that dressing as a safe one for me to use. Anyways, this whole thing is a very good reason for me to have a weight range to stay in. My range is 145-150. So far, I've been able to stay within that range.

I broke even today, still 175.

Angie - I don't do scientific. It's all one big experiment anyhow. Thanks. I am working on moving the % down gradually. The last couple days I've come in just under 50%. I don't know if I can go as low as 30%.

Sunshine - :congrat:

Diana - I don't know whether to hope that it is the mustard so you will have it figured out or to hope that it's not so that it is maybe something that is more easily avoided. :hug:

I just have to tell ladies that I had by far one of the worst meals out in a long time. We went to a restaurant that my father in law chose, the food was mediocre, but uber heavy despite some serious limiting of portions and the service was absolutely horrendous. I honestly didn't eat much because I was so unimpressed, my stomach is now really hurting me and I feel sick. I'm afraid of what the scale may say in the morning, but only because this dinner was absolutely not worth any gain that may occur. Argh! Bracing myself!

Ok, so I was bad. They opened a Firehouse Subs here and I hadn't been to one in 5-6 years, so when we saw last night that they were open that's what we had for dinner (including baked Lays and cherry limeade). Later I had some white russian. Not good! I'm up 1 pound to 176. I was really expecting more, so I'm happy.

So sleep deprivation is my biggest enemy on the weekend. It carries all through my week and is really messing with my numbers. My focus this week is to get 8 hours of scheduled sleep every night which means that I must be IN BED and ready for sleep by 10pm. I will start tonight.

My eating has been on point. It's the sleeping. 5-6 hours a night is NOT working for me! My bod is letting me know that it does not like that. Please send me positive vibes so that I will LISTEN! :lol:

another weekend of crazy festivities. work, and 3 dads to visit and celebrate with.

2 early early mornings + 3 celebrations + not able to exercise = me, scared of the scale.

the good news is i'm actually down from friday, to a new low of 264.1 so yay!

i didn't count calories too hard, really just estimated based on what i found in 'myfitnesspal' and tried to keep my number around 1700... and i did that, plus or minus about a hundred. drank a ton of water, and was actually pretty active despite the ankle issue.

and on that note, i have an appointment with the podiatrist next wednesday at 11am to get it looked at. hopefully that will give me some answers and i can get back to working out. i kinda miss it!

happy monday everyone! http://www.planetsmilies.com/smilies/rolleye/rolleye0015.gif

Hello Everyone ...

I didn't weigh in this morning ... got up too late and my day took off. I am sure after my weekend I am back to my beginning weight for June if not higher but no stress at all.

I had a wonderful weekend with family and friends. DD is officially out of school and preparing for basic training. Today is the first full day out of school for all five of them. We got DD's senior and cap and gown pictures taken today. Costly but still not the $1000 that the school photographer wanted.

Wow I have a ton of reading to do to catch up ... but I'll ask a few questions before hand :D answer if you like :D

Jami and Gale how was your weekend? Did you stay OP?

Vixsin did you catch the vandal?

Kukkie and starbrite any news with the jobs?

Aimee how was Vegas?

Coondocks how are you holding up?

Ona, Diana, Angie, Mandy, FitGirly, Rhonda, eclipse, shylah and Everyone else I hope all is well with you all :hug:

ok gonna do some reading :)

Rennie - I did stay on plan this weekend! I didn't really think about it, but I did pretty well. Maybe that's the key for me - just do it, don't think so much about it. I got down to 235.2 and then TOM started yesterday and I gained 7 pounds (literally) overnight. :(

It sounds like you had a really nice weekend!

Angie Congrats on the .2! Trying to stay cool! :beach:

Ilbnej Great job on that pound!

Gale OOPS! That has got to be water weight! :hug:

Fitgirlygirl A White Russian sounds good! :drool: :cheers:

Vixsin One of us is always battling the sodium monster or sleep monster! :hug:

Mandy Congrats on the new low!

Rennie Hi :wave:

Gale -- Ouch! Oh how I despise those water gains...

Roxy -- Sounds like some yummy food, sorry it brought a pound back with it!

Vixsin -- If you're reading this right now...go to bed! :sssh:

Rennie -- The school photographer charges $1000 !!?? Holy cow that's expensive. You could hire your own pro and get a huge package for way less than that!

So my new motivation, or kick in the pants, was getting some pictures of my teenage self in a bathing suit. OMG I was so skinny...and I know I thought I was fat at the time. Sheesh. I think I was about 130-135lbs in these pics and I am super skinny and kinda hot. I know I can't be 16 again, but it's motivated me to work harder and get a bit closer to that. Plus, while i was thrilled to be at this weight a little while ago, I'm pretty sick of it now. I think if I don't see some good movement between now and the end of this month I'm going to have to go back to my original plan, phase 1 (the killer phase) to get things moving again.

Gale just read what Vixsin said about journaling. I would write my feelings in my journal some days also. It does help. :hug:

Ona good for you on the brownies. :hug:

Jami good for you on getting back on track after the camping trip :) And telling Gale to detox her house is exactly what I need to do. The cake is almost gone. We have a ton of potato rolls left over and I love them. I need to get rid of the chips that I like and the Oreos. Oh my goodness this house is full of junk!!!! BTW You're doing great!

Diana back down to 145 :high:

Sunshine welcome to Onederland :)

Ok I'm still on catch up mode. This is as far as I've gotten ...I'll finish up tomorrow. Good night :hug:

Kukkie great weigh in ... despite the food :high:

FitGirly I absolutely love Firehouse Subs and their cherry limeade :drool:

Mandy Congrats on the new low :)

Gale TOM started for me this morning also. I was spotting off and on yesterday and I've been bloated for awhile now. I don't even want to think about what the scale will read in the morning. But I do know I've got to kick it up a notch to have some type of lost by the end of the month. My weekend was great :)

Hi Diana :wave:

Yeah Angie it's Prestige Portraits and even with their so called discounts you still don't get enough photos for the money. I know what you mean about those old photos. I showed the kids a picture of me before I had DD. I weighed 128 and boy did I look good. But you know I don't want to be that thin again I think 136-140 is low enough. If I ever get there :D

ok good night, I'm pooped :yawn:

Rough weekend but I stayed OP. It was hard though with my boys back, I just wanted to be lazy and snack by the pool. I did good though I was still a bit high on my sodium. I'm in Utah this week for work so while I will be able to exercise (thank you Hyat for the sweet fitness center), I won't be able to WI. Yikes!! How will I ever survive without my daily WIs?!? I started daily WIs kicking and screaming and now the thought of being away from my Wii is terrifying. I won't be able to WI until Friday so here's hoping! TOM is also due this weekend so I'm also hoping I don't let that mess me up too much.

Vixin -- You're Friday sounded amazing! So many amazing deals! Good for you! Oh yea and one final message: You're getting sleepy...very sleepy... ;)

Starbrite -- You have such a great attitude about this! And yes, Ms. Ona is right, keep fighting! Yay on being down 1.6 Sat and happy belated birthday to your DS! Holy cow and another 2.2 on Sunday?!?! You are rockin' it! Obviously whatever was going on is working itself out now. Whew!

Roxy -- Wow! That workout you had last Friday sounds horrible! Not that we like getting people in trouble but some constructive feedback for that instructor might be a good idea...before people start getting really hurt. Unfortunately, I don't have any suggestions on your carb intake but do want to wish you the best of luck figuring out the right balance. Your dinner Sunday sounded wonderful and well worth the 1 lb!

Angie -- Man oh man! Anything with butter in the title MUST be good! Good job on the .4 from Saturday! And another .8 on Sunday! YAHOO!!

Mandy -- I LOVE the new wedding picture! You're so lovely. Congrats on finding that new low! And good luck at the podiatrist! I really hope they figure out what's going on!

Diana -- Woo hoo on the big loss Saturday! Boo on the 100 degree weather!

Kukkie -- Yay on being down 1.9 and then another unbelieve 1.8 loss on Sunday! Sounds like the water is working! Chug, chug, chug!

OnaMi -- Yay on being down .4 Sat! You're a runnin' fool! WTG!! Man does that Melon Slush sound delish! I wish I would have logged in earlier because I ate cantelope all day Sunday at my mom's house. I CANNOT wait to try that recipe!

reptogirl -- Welcome back!!

Roxie -- Yes! Being down is being down...no matter how big or small. :D

Gale -- So jealous of your garage sale day...I'm so jealous. Bummer about the negative pregnancy tests and late TOM to boot. BAD TOM BTW! What nerve! But BIG CONGRATULATIONS to you for you OP weekend! You are my HERO!

Veronica -- Keep it up. Sounds like you know what to do...you just gotta do it.

Sunshine -- ONEderland! YAY!!

Rennie -- Yes, I would say my weekend was OP. I didn't exercise...couldn't bear to drag myself away from my boys. I got up to leave a few times Saturday morning but I just knew I would miss my 3 year old waking up and crawling into bed with me. After him being gone 2 weeks, I just couldn't miss that! :) BTW - whatcha readin'? I finished The Girl Who Played With Fire this afternoon. LOVED IT!

Good Morning, Everyone! :wave:

I've made another appointment with the allergist. The appointment is next week. We'll see what happens this time. :dunno: I think my biggest problem last week was my allergic reaction, not TTOM or the Japanese restaurant.

We had our client hosting golf tournament yesterday and I was on my feet running around for 12 hours, I figured I'd be down today, except that I barely had any water yesterday - who does that, especially in the sun? Oy, up slightly 0.6 to 203.4. Working from home today because I'm too tired to go into the office, so at least I'll be able to chug away from here.

Oy. My rings are so tight today that they're leaving marks on my skin! I was OP yesterday and exercised for the first time in almost 2 weeks. I also went to Sonic with a friend after volleyball and instead of getting a cherry limeade, I got a water (which was what I really needed.) I also killed the battery on my car and had to call a friend for a jump at 10:45pm... epic. Drain the battery by listening to the radio... you'd think that, at 27 years old, I'd know better. :rolleyes:

I hope everyone has a marvelous day today!!

268.8 today. jiminy crickets! where did that come from?! I could see if I had a super salty day, but it wasn't. Oh well, let's see what my body does this week.

Hey everyone! :wave:

I'm down .8 today to 213...slowly making my way back to my low. I am working at home today, so after I dropped Cam at school I took a quick 2k walk on my way home. Eating is clean and on plan :) I'm ready to kick (fat) butt and take names. :kickbutt::jig:

Jami -- If I'm desperate for a weigh in while I'm traveling, and I mean really desperate, I'll go to the closest Walmart or department store and use one of their scales. Sometimes the fitness centers in hotels have them too. The butter chicken was awesome but I used ICBINB...even so it was only 4 tablespoons for the whole recipe which was about 6 servings.

Diana -- Do you have a list of suspects ready for your appt with the allergist? Who/what is on your list? Congrats on your .4 today :)

KUkkie -- Good girl, lots of water and you'll soon see the benefits of your golfing day. How did your interview go?

Hi Gale :wave:

Hi Ona :wave:

Shylah -- Hey, I've done that too. Normally it is sodium related for me as well. Do you log your food somewhere that counts your sodium? Sometimes it's hidden in things you'd never suspect...ie/ cheerios!

Kris -- :wave: Hope you decide to go to the gym and work those kinks out. Someone tipped me off recently to a whole bunch of great yoga/Pilates and other workouts on you-tube...all free and ready when you are. I did one last night that focused on relieving tension in the shoulders, neck and upper back. Good stuff.

I do Angie. I'm sure it was probably sausage from last night. Even with my sausage I didn't go over 2k in sodium. Which is a nice change from my 4k sodium days.

It has been a 2 day trend in gaining. 266.2 on sunday, 268.8 on tuesday. no fun!

Hopefully it flushes out soon.

Diana - do you think you have more besides the mustard family?

Angie - Nice job on the walk. I really wish I had the option from working from home. Life would be so much simpler for me at least.

Gale - draining the battery is no fun, but kind of comical. At least you were enjoying your time with your friend :)

I'm exhausted today and am trudging through work, so gonna get back to it. Have a great day !

It was quite comical! Pictures are on FB, much laughter was had. :D The best part was that there were probably 15 people in the Sonic parking lot and not a single one asked if we needed help when I popped the hood. Seriously. :dizzy:

But just found out that MIL got into a car accident and so we're going to go visit her instead. It's not that I don't want to go, I just really wanted to have my workout. I'll have to see if I can squeeze it in when I get back depending on the time.

Good Day Ladies,

My weigh in this morning was 179.4. I'm not upset. I know with the way I've been eating and TOM I'm not gonna be losing so. Better luck for the remainder of the month.

Hi Ona :wave:

Angie good job on the .8 :)

Diana good job on the .4 :)

Jami enjoy the fitness room. And I don't blame you on not wanting to miss anytime with the boys. I would have stayed right there also :)

Kukkie Hope your MIL is ok and wishing you the best offer ever with the job :hug:

Didn't intentionally leave anyone out. The kids computer was logged on so I hoped on now I'm being asked over and over, "Mommy are you almost done?" I want to say no, but that would be a mean Mommy, :lol:

My firehouse pound left and took another .8 of my off plan pounds with it. I'm down 1.8 today to 174.2. I also have my new baby in my driveway, sexiest thing on 4 wheels ever! 2006 Dodge Charger Daytona limited edition GoManGo # 3841/4000. WooHoo! I am a happy girly today.

Vixsin - I hear ya on the lack of sleep lately! Good luck with the bedtime.

Mandy - I've been there before with the not being able to exercise even though I wanted to. This too shall pass. Hang in there.

Diana - The white russian was yum and pretty much worth the pound all by itself - no regrets!

Angie - I have the opposite motivation. I was always chubby which led to fat. I was already 'obese' though not morbidly so as a teen. I am smaller now than I was then and I WILL NOT go back to that. No, you can't be 16, but if it helps you keep motivation then it's a good thing - whatever works.

love2b - I love them too, though not something to be done often, obviously. I had been living overseas in England and now in Arkansas and when I went home to visit, while I do love them, there were more important things to hit while there. After so long, I think it was definitely worth the pound! :)

Jami - I did complain. I let our regular instructor know what it was like and that nobody was happy even though most of them are not brave enough to tell her (she knows me, so she trusts that if I tell her it wasn't just me then it really wasn't). She is going to get us a different sub the next time she has to be gone. The woman is certified and teaches her own classes, so our teacher had no reason to think it would be a problem.

Roxie - I went to college with another Roxanne, same major even so lots of classes together. That was interesting. I'm sure we can figure it out here. ;) And you are not the only one, been there, done that! Crazy body!

I had issues a few years back with our family Dr. Long story. Bottom line, is that I haven't had full blood work in a few years. I have my thyroid test and the Endo has done a cholesterol test a couple of times. So anyways, I went for a "meet and greet" :rolleyes: with a new family Dr. I think I like her. I shouldn't speak yet, because it doesn't take much for me to dislike a Dr. :lol: Anyways, tomorrow I will go for my labs. I spoke with her about my food allergy situation. I told her the allergist that I am going to. She was very pleased because she said he is the best in the area. That made me feel good. Hopefully he can figure out my craziness. Other people have spoken very highly of this allergist, too. I should feel positive, but I don't. I think I am just tired of the whole allergy thing.

Kukkie I think working from home at times would be nice. Except, I would probably sleep in, stay in my jammies, and do nothing! ;) I hope everything is OK with your MIL.

Ilbnej Congrats on the .4.

Ona Hi :wave: I hear you! Pressing on! That's what we do! ;)

Shylah Hi! :wave: The body does crazy things, doesn't it? I'm not sure about any other things I might be allergic to. I am frustrated, though. :( Hopefully it will be resolved soon.

Kris Were you able to make it to the gym?

Angie Congrats on the .8! I have one main suspect, the mustard family (brassica). My reactions have lessened since eliminating all of these foods. I think I am still getting reactions from seasonings with mustard seed/powder when we eat out. I don't know, though.

Mandy Hi :wave:

Matilda Congrats on the scale going in the right direction. :carrot:

Rennie Hi :wave:

Fitgirlygirl Congrats on the sexy car! ;)

Diana - I saw your doppelganger yesterday! I even started to say "Omigosh, Diana??" when I realized that you don't live here. :D Good thing I realized it before I made a total fool out of myself. :lol:

Gale I am embarrassed to ask this, what is a doppelganger? :lol: Ok, I just googled that! :o So it was someone that looked like me? :o If this is what you mean, I've got a funny story:

DH and I were eating out. This woman and her SO came into the restaurant and sat down. My jaw about dropped. This woman could have been my twin! She was larger size, her hair was dark and was in a bob just like mine. It was scary. Then we saw this same woman walking into another restaurant while we were sitting in our car getting ready to leave. Then something else happened. I used to know a woman that owned a lingerie/adult toy store. :o I went in there one day to look at the lingerie. ;) This woman had known me for a couple years, so she knew what I looked like, and we talked on a regular basis. Anyways, she asked me about a "toy" that I had bought recently. I had not bought anything. We went around and around about me coming in there buying something. She said if it wasn't me, it was my twin. She also mentioned that she was talking with that person, thinking it was me, and the person looked at her like she was crazy.

Nothing has happened like that since. It is weird looking at someone else and it's like you are looking in a mirror.

I'm down .2 to 174 even, with my WI being about 2 hours earlier than usual I definitely can't complain.

Diana and Gale - I have one of those too. She lives in Cali now, but we used to live in the same town and we had the same car, pink Geo Trackers (not on purpose, we both got them before we met - that is actually how we ended up meeting). She almost got me fired once because I called in sick and my boss saw me at the beach. We got to be pretty good friends eventually. It was really strange though.

I just had a really bright lightbulb go off. My weirdo gains are probably because TOM is around the corner! DUH. I kind of forgot how this works without my BCP :lol: I think it should be arriving any day now. Okay, I don't feel so horrible about the strange gains anymore. All the more reason to press on! Yay.

Hi gang,

Sorry I was MIA yesterday. Life was busy. So I'm down a little water weight to 191.0 so that was nice. Shooting for quality treadmill time after work. Really not enjoying my 60(ish) lb. lost plateau challenge that I am facing. I know what it is. it's because I'm getting all kinds of compliments now. "OMG! You have lost SO much weight!" "Wow! You've lost even more since the last time I saw you!" I'm trying to look at the comments differently than all other past times. Instead of relishing and basking in them, I kindly thank them for noticing and tell them that what they said makes the work I do worth it. I thought that it was working on my brain, but is it? Truly? I can feel myself wanting to ease up. I definitely haven't been nearly as disciplined since I saw my low. While I am not gaining...MUCH...I can feel the "laxing" creeping in. My eating at work is spot on as usual. It's at home, it's been hot...I'm not in the mood to prepare everything and THEN cook....again...slacking. My own fault.

I start school in Sept. I feel that I have got to get down to as low as I can so that if I need to let the reigns out a little with the exercise, THEN is the time for that. Certainly not now. I also think that I am subconsciously afraid to truly succeed and I also feel that I am entering into harder territory for weight loss where I may need to tweak my calories and eat a little more and pump up the workouts a bit. I am feeling scared about those ideas. I feel that I have the resolve and the drive to complete this, but I am having the hardest time right now "getting out of my own way"!!!!

I also think that I need to get out an issue with my sister. 2 weekends ago was my neice's graduation party. My family doesn't say much if anything about my weight loss because of me gaining and losing my whole life. It's easier not to mention it. My family is a "sweep it under the rug and not talk about it" kind of group. With that said, I was talking with my sister and joking about her ex, my neice's dad, who was in jail for a bit and now has the ankle bracelet and he was coming to the party. So I was making casual cracks about how the alarm would go off and whatnot. Harmless stuff between family. So he gets there and my flipping sister tells him everything that I said like as soon as he walked in!! :yikes: TOTALLY humiliating me! Totally alienating Kent - like how's he supposed to react to that?! Honestly, you could feel the air in the room change to a lovely shade of outrageously awkward. Anywho, what pissed me off about the whole thing is that Lori ALWAYS does this to me!!!! She's done it to me the last few times she's seen me...since I started seriously losing weight. I have feelings that she is jealous of me for some reason and that she is projecting onto me. Therefore lashing out at anything to take away any spotlight on me and paint me as a horrible person. I haven't said anything to her about this, nor have I mentioned it to anyone else. I do feel my plateau could have bearing on this so I wanted to let it out to you guys. I dont hate her but the next time I see her, if she lashes in any way, I WILL lash back. I promise you, I will hold up the mirror and tell her exactly what I see in it. I will tell her how she's making me feel and that I do not appreciate it. I have had enough of that. I will not allow her to project her crap onto me. She's nuts and let me tell ya, I've done enough Self Work over the last year to be able to confidently say that I am NOT! "Go sell crazy somewhere else. We're all stocked up here!"

Thanks for letting me get ALL of that out. I'm really sorry this is so long.

hello ladies!

today's weigh in has me back down the .9 i was up yesterday, back to 264.1.

according to the calendar ovulation took place yesterday or the day before, so that explains my wonky up-down mess. now it's a fight to lose before TOM shows up in 2 weeks.

Sooo, for those of you who have been asking and I've deliberately been avoiding :lol: I have fabulous news to share. The long and short of it is that I GOT THE JOB! I actually got the offer last Thursday and went back and forth to hammer out the details. Didn't want to post anything anywhere until I gave my notice to my current employer, which I just did a couple of hours ago, so yippeeeeeeeeeee :carrot: My last day at this job will be July 6 and I start my new position on the 11th, which gives me a good few days in between to kind of relax and unwind, added to which my girlfriend is getting married that weekend, so that'll be fun as well. Anyhoos!

Whew, long day! I was pretty excited to wake up to a whoosh this morning...I was down 1.8 to 211.2 - yay! Went to a friend's for dinner and ended up just 4 calories over my plan, but I do feel heavy in my legs, so I am chugging water to avoid a potential sodium bounce for tomorrow. Sodium for the day is 2400...so higher than I'd like, but not as bad as it could be.

Shylah -- Working from home is such a gift, and I really appreciate every minute of it. Just saving the commute for a day is a godsend, not to mention all the work I get through since I don't have all the normal interruptions and distractions. DS loves it when I can walk him to school as well :)

Mandy -- Are you supposed to avoid all exercise? Is there another type you might be able to do? I know how frustrating it is to get stuck on a number...hang in there.

Matilda -- Good job on getting closer to your low. I'm working on it too.

Kukkie -- I hope your MIL is okay after her accident. Can't wait to read ahead to hear about the job! Ahh! Just read ahead, congratulations!! Is your new job close to home? Can you still work from home? How did your current boss take the news?

Roxy -- I always thought of myself as chubby, even as a teen, but now when I look at those pictures I think I was totally crazy. I was comparing myself with some of my friends who were even skinnier I guess. I do find it motivating to see those pics. Sometimes I tell myself that I can only get so much smaller because I have a large frame, but when I see those pictures I see a different reality.

Diana -- Good luck with the new Dr. I've had the same Dr. since I was 12 and I don't know what I will do when she retires. :( Sorry to hear that Magnum was not feeling 100%, I hope he's doing better today and you'll get a better sleep. I get mistaken for another person at work quite often, although I don't think we really look alike all that much, but we are both overweight and of a similar age so I guess that's why. I love your story about your twin -- crazy!

Kris -- Good job on your walk this morning, congrats on your loss today :)

Vixsin -- I hear you on having a hard time keeping on when you feel so successful, I struggle with this as well. I've lost about the same amount as you and I'm pleased as punch about it, but I've still got a long way to go. I too feel like now I'm into the harder part of this journey, and sometimes I think I let those kind of thoughts hold me back and I use them as an excuse for a poor week/month. Sorry about your sister, it does sound like she's trying to paint you in an unfavorable light with those types of comments. I would avoid confiding those kind of things with her if you think she might continue to try embarrassing you. :hug:

ONa -- HOw are you enjoying Wimbledon? Is your guy doing well?

Good Morning, Everyone! :wave:

Our dog Magnum was better yesterday. Hopefully everything is OK and it was just an isolated situation.

I had more coffee yesterday than I normally do. I also went to McDonald's for breakfast since I had a Dr's appointment. The food calories were very similar to what I normally eat, but the coffee/cream/sugar calories were higher. I don't add those up because that's too much to figure out. ;) But, my calories were higher yesterday than they normally are. I don't know if I will show a gain for that tomorrow or not. Maybe I will be good. Time will tell.

Calories for yesterday: 1445 + :coffee2:

Weigh In: 144.2

Down: 1.4 pounds

Up .4 today. When I checked my nutrients for the last few days the two days prior to yesterday were actually higher for sodium than yesterday was...so maybe this is old sodium catching up with me...lol. Still on plan so I'm not too worried about it.

Cameron and I are spending the day at an amusement park tomorrow, I have a friend coming from out of town and she has a son of a similar age so we will go together. I'm not too worried about eating there, I'll eat a filling breakfast (greek yogurt, blueberries, all bran) before we go and I think the best thing to eat there is pizza, but you pay an arm and a leg per slice, so I know I'll just have one! I'm not overly tempted by the desserts there, but if I indulge a little I'm not going to worry too much because the walking is endless there. I'm planning to wear my nike+ shoes so that I can gauge the distance I cover.

Mandy -- Okay, well I was thinking about some sitting yoga or pilates might help to get you moving a bit.

Morning Starbrite!

Diana -- Glad Magnum is back to himself again. Good job on the 1.4 and best of luck with the weigh in tomorrow!

I'm hoping this is the last day of TOM and things will get back to normal on the scale. We're headed the right direction, at least! My rings aren't quite as tight as they have been the last few days, although there's definitely still some water there. It probably doesn't help things either that I started going to the gym on Tuesday after almost 2 weeks off (sick kid, then potty training for a week.) It feels good to be back, even if I do retain a bit of water for a couple of days. :)

Have a wonderful day, all!

Down 1lb to 202.3!

Thanks starbrite

Angie MIL is okay for the most part, but she's now starting to feel the back pain that doesn't kick in right away. They checked her out at the hospital and sent her home, but she has a follow up appointment with her own doctor today. I'm thinking she may have to do some physio. I took a look at the car and you can tell she was hit pretty badly, so we're lucky because it could have been a lot worse. As for the job, it's downtown TO and I'm right by the Mount Pleasant GO station, so I can just hop on the GO train straight into Union. I don't think I'll be able to work from home for the first couple of months because they've hired for me a project that needs to launch early October, so I'll need to work closely with some of the people in the office, but I'm okay with that. I think the routine may actually help me get my groove back in terms of scheduling all the things I want/need to do ie. exercise because I'll know I only have a certain window for it. My current manager was SHOCKED, she didn't see it coming at all, but I made sure she knew that it was nothing against her, just a totally amazing opportunity. We've become really close, so she's thrilled for me and my career, just sad to see me go.

I am down 1.2 to 172.8. I think maybe the lower carb intake is helping me. Yesterday I was at 45.5% carb with 185g carb 54 of which were fiber and 11 of which were sugar alcohol. I am having trouble figuring out what to have for a quick on the run snack though. I was using fiber one bars and kellog's fiber plus bars, but if I am trying to lower my carbs then those need to be only occasional. I got some atkins bars yesterday (hence the sugar alcohol), but I'd rather have something that is more real food most of the time. I have no trouble figuring out my meals (I have an excuse to eat lots of grilled chicken, mmmm), but quick snacks are a problem. Any ideas for lower carb fast on the go type snacks? I have walnuts and cheese sticks, but would like some variety.

Vixsin - I think that all the compliments and such are making it easier for me to let up too. Time to take back the reins. I'm sorry your sister is a pain. Maybe it's time to talk to her about it? Congrats on the 1.6 today and the sleep!

Angie - your amusement park outing sounds fun. Just remember lots and lots of water, the worst thing about pizza is the sodium. Have fun!

Diana - glad your doggy is okay. hopefully it was just an isolated incident. nice drop this morning too.

k0nfy - i never thought to link weight fluctuations with ovulation. Going to have to keep a look at my charts and see what correlation I can find.

Matilda - cmon, you can do it girl!

Ona - keep on trucking.

Vixsin - I think you need to just stop talking to your sister about those things. what a blabbermouth. sounds like something my sister would do too.

Today is my last day in Utah...THANK GOD. While this has actually been a very enjoyable work trip, I am so anxious to get home to my guys. My husband has been wonderful and sent me some videos of my little guy fishing on Tuesday and then of him riding the train (he LOVES trains) on Wednesaday. But he did finally break down and tell me that whenever he and AJ go anywhere, AJ asks if Mommy is there. :( Wow...that was a real heartbreaker but I'm glad he told me.

Anyway, I did talk big about the fitness room here at the hotel but I have I actually gone inside? Ummm...Noooo. I can't sleep. I'm up 'til after midnight everynight and wake up constantly so when that alarm goes off at 5:30am...I have simply been ignoring it...for an hour! :o I'm not drinking enough water and am not tracking my food either! Wow! So anyway, needless to say I am both very eager and nervous to WI tomorrow morning. Eager to get back OP in my routine and neverous to see how much damage I've done. That's okay though...I'll roll with it and jump right back in!

Angie - Really sorry to hear that things are rough at work. I really hope things settle down. As far my WIs go, I really wish I knew what was going with the numbers - since I'm not tracking or anything! BUT, I don't think I'm desperate enough to WI on a different scale. Last time I did that, it showed me a near 7lb gain and I definitely can't handle something like that. I actually don't know how I ever managed to just WI weekly...seems awful to me now! Have a great time at the amustment park tomorrow with Cameron!

Diana -- I can't believe those allergies are still messing you with so badly. I really hope they Dr's can tell you something helpful! BTW - that story about the shopping habits of your doppleganger was HILARIOUS!

Gale -- While inconvenient, it actually sounds pretty cute/fun that you were having so much fun your car battery got drained. Although, I can't believe NO ONE offered help. Losers!!

Shylah -- Boo to that silly gain from earlier in the week. Looks like it finally flushed out this morning! YAY!!!

Kris -- So sorry to hear about your neck and back pain. Hope you're feeling better! Congrats on the downtrend you've got going on!

Mandy -- I'm so sorry that you're still not able to exercise. Hang tough!

Matilda -- Way to go!! When you post, can you tell us how much you've lost since your last post? I can never remember... ;)

Kukkie -- Not that I can talk much now since I haven't worked out in 6 days now but when I was...you couldn't pay me to wait 'til after work. Seemed like my plan always got derailed but some unexpected incident! Sheesh. TOM is right around the corner for me too. Bleh! AND YAY on the new job! We never doubted you get it for a second!

Rennie -- Did I say there was a fitness room here? Oh yea, I did huh? Hmmm... :) I'm not on day 6 with no exercise. LOL...what a mess!

Roxy -- Congrats on the loss and the sweet wheels!!

Jen -- Doing great!

Vixsin -- I am SO sorry to hear about the yucky drama with your sister. It definitely sounds like she's got some issues with you! BIG CONGRATS on the undisturbed sleep and WHOOSH!

Diana - I feel like you today with all of my analyzing as I was driving in this morning. :lol: I love it! :hug:

So I think I need to up my calories. I've been eating steady in the 1300 - 1500 range since I started keeping pretty close to 1400. Now that I am in this battle with 188 - 193, I am thinking that my body is telling me to eat more. I have given the advice to "eat more to lose weight" to many people recently and I think it's time to follow my own advice! I am feeling that my loss is slowing down because I am only 20-ish pounds away from the top of my healthy weight range. I feel that I may be creating too much of a calorie deficit with my eating AND the exercise. So I am thinking of tweaking the eating a bit to trick my body into feeling more satisfied and able to let go of the weight I want it to.

I looked up my BMR and without exercise I should be eating approx. 1600 calories. Add in my light exercise 2 - 3 times a week and I should be eating closer to 2200 calories. Based on these numbers, if I bring my calories up to an average of 1600 everyday and continue with, at the minimum, a 25 min run twice a week, I should be able to lose at a reasonable pace of roughly a pound a week.

I'm starting today, so I will evaluate how I think things are going by the end of this month.

Angie

:congrat:on the job KuKKie :)

You too Matilda, looking good :cp: love the vibe from your post :yes: sounds like you've found something! ride that train :carrot:

Jamie,you're doing great,no matter what the scale says when you get back.You've adapted to changing your eating lifestyle and are doing one heck of a job :high: thanks! I be joggin :D

Vixsin,great job on the 1.6 and the run :cp:Bless you for your last post :hug: another sign for me to go ahead and eat more. My close confidant has been telling me to eat more cause of all the exercising i do but it was/is so hard for me.
I'm finally, gradually doing it though(up to about 1500 a day so far) I've come to terms with the fact that i might as well..since I've worked so hard all month/ate on plan everyday(except for the brownies) and have no Weight loss to show for it.

:wave: to everyone one i missed

ok typed my usual book and lost it :mad: I'm fuming :mad:

Ona I'm here just not happy with myself. 7 days left and I am heavier than I was at the beginning of the month. :(

Kukkie congrats on the job :high: it's great when your supervisor knows your worth, :) Wishing your MIL a speedy recovery and glad that overall she's ok :hug: good weigh in today :)

Vixsin sorry about the issues with your sister. You know maybe since he is her ex ... could she be trying to score points with him? Just a thought. But I wouldn't tell her anything else either :hug: YAY for good weigh ins and a good nights rest :)

Gale sorry about the battery :hug: great weigh in today :)

Diana best of luck with the allergist and the blood work :hug: Glad Magnum is feeling better, great weigh in today :)

Angie sounds like you got tomorrow in the bag, enjoy :)

FitGirly good weigh in today :)

Shylah good weigh in today :)

Jami LOL you did mention the fitness room :) I make it to the ones at the hotels whenever we stay because the kids want to go and I can't say no, so I get that little time in. You'll do better when you get home you're missing your guys :hug:

Well I'm signing off. Today was a total waste of me opening my mouth, not one descent thing went in it. I'll set my clock to get up and make these last 7 days count (hopefully). See you all tomorrow with my horrible weigh in.

Good Night

Not sure where I left off, but I'm doing to start from this page :)

Vixsin -- I'm so envious of your sleep...I'm hoping for the same tonight. I woke up early this morning and had trouble getting back to sleep. I've also increased my calories a bit...I'm going with a range of 1400-1700, but hoping to average out around 1500 per day, it seems to be working better than anything else I've tried recently. I hope you'll see some success too.

Roxy -- I know the dreaded sodium! I think I'll be able to get veggie pizza, so at least its not as bad as pepperoni or sausage. I'm so stoked for my long weekend! I'm glad the new plan is working for you.

Shylah -- Congrats on your 1.5 whoosh! Thanks, I'm really looking forward to the outing tomorrow.

Jami -- I used to weigh weekly too...ages ago, and I don't know how I did it either...sometimes I can barely stand to wait 24 hours (and often, I don't).

Kris -- Hang in there baby! :goodvibes

Mandy -- Hey, great site, I'm going to try desk pilates too (although I don't have a good reason like an injury, but I think it will be great for when I just don't want to drag my butt off the couch!)

Diana -- I think it had to be delayed sodium...everything else has been on track for several days. Even today my sodium was only 1700mg, but I feel puffy and tight. I think it might have something to do with the humidity we have today and had yesterday.

Ona -- Go Nadal!! Congrats on your .6 today :)

Rennie -- :wave: :hug:

Good Morning and TGIF! :dance: :woohoo: Another early Friday for me. I have to get up early every other Friday. I hope you have a fantastic Friday and even better weekend! :grouphug:

Someone please tell me what's wrong with my TTOM? :mad: The last couple of months it has been great. Not like my normal, never ending TTOM's. I was thinking that things were improving in that dept. I had noticed the last couple of days that I've had some breast tenderness and I felt crampy like it was going to start. It's not suppose to start for at least 1 1/2 weeks. Guess who showed up last night? It damn sure wasn't the Tooth Fairy, Santa Clause, or the Easter Bunny! Yep, you got it! TTOM :devil:

I ate a few extra calories yesterday. It was all DH's fault he bought "us" a Frozen Peach Mango Yogurt thingy. "Us" didn't eat it! I ate it! Ok, I don't do that stuff because of the carbs, calories, and sugars! I was shocked when I looked up the calories. It was 400 calories! :eek: I kept my dinner a little lower to try to make up for it.

Calories for yesterday: 1630 + :coffee2:

Weigh In: 143.8

Down: .4

No change today. I think there would have been without the spicy salmon roll for lunch yesterday, my rings are really tight. I'm off to a 4 hour aerobathon. Cross your fingers that I don't die!

Diana -- You've entered some sort of weightloss twilight zone. Sure, you have to have extra TOM's, BUT, you get to eat peachy mango yummy things and still lose weight. It might be worth it ;)

I stayed the same today. Was on plan yesterday so no worries. Today is our amusement park day, breakfast happened as planned, I already logged a slice of pizza for lunch and I"ll still have 800 calories to go even without counting the exercise...maybe I can fit a peachy something or other in too! The plan is -- if I'm going to have a treat, I'll try to make it something high in sugar/carbs rather than sodium...see if I can keep my number that way. Thank God they don't sell corndogs at this place :D -- they are like kryptonite to me.

For fun I'm going to wear my nike+ shoes so I can track the distance we cover walking today.

Absolutely THRILLED this morning! While I didn't exercise, wasn't drinking enough water, and didn't track - I did feel like I was being very conscientious when making food choices and here's the proof! Gained less than 1lb while I was away...I'LL TAKE IT! And now, I'm back OP 100% and ready to push hard to the end of this month. My goal is to reach 10 lbs lost by the 30th and I BELIEVE I can do it!

It was so great to finally be back home last night but the best part was at the airport. I'm coming down the escalators and see my DH and DS across the lobby. My DS rips his hand out of DH's grip and runs full speed across the lobby smiling and laughing...and right into my arms! I had big ol' tears in my eyes and so did he. He immediately just smashed his face against mine like he just couldn't get close enough to me! My oh my...my cup runneth over!

My mom, DS, and I will head to my aunt's today to celebrate my gram's birthday and help with her yard sale. But my main goal is to give DH some personal time. Not only is he a stay home Dad but after two weeks on the road and another with just him and DS...I'm sure he'll appreciate some of his very own "me" time. :)

Kris -- GREAT JOB! "M&M boys"...such a cute nickname for your pair of cuties!

Mandy -- GREAT JOB! Amazing how wonderful you doing, especially with having all that ankel pain. And WTG findinging something you can do at your desk in the mean time!

Vixsin -- Great job taking a step back and re-evaluating! I'm always amazed when watching you verteran losers do that. Not only is it clearly good for you, but the rest of us newbies learn a lot from watching it too!

Diana -- Yea, doppleganger is a REALLY funny word. I saw my mom's the other day in a fly fishing magazine! LOL. I get delayed sodium reactions too. My gains are always show up two WIs after consumption. And thanks for your support Diana. I really appreciate it! I can't believe TTOM is giving you such a hard time. What's his problem?!?! Mind is literally due like any second, I actually expected to start last night...

Ona -- Thanks for your support. It really mean a lot! And BIG CONGRATS to you for breaking 186!

Rennie -- Maybe type your replies in word and then paste the whole shpeal into 3FC when you're done. At least then, if there's a problem with the post, you'll still have all your thoughts in word. Just an idea... Let's both give a hard push to the end of the month. My goal is to hit 10lbs lost (-3.1lbs) by June 30th and to be 100% OP for the next 7 days!

Angie -- Have a great time today! I had an awesome time my DS doing the same thing last week and yes, I had my "peachy thing" and pizza too. Except my "peachy" treat was actually a powdered sugar funnel cake that me and DS shared. MMMM..... I can't wait to see how far you walked while you were there. I wish I would have paid attention to that when I went.

Kukkie -- Go Kukkie! Go Kukkie!!

Thanks. I've always loved M&Ms :) . Now, I just love them on a different level - lol. I would really like to get a tattoo of two little M&M guys on my ankle but can't really with my job.

Vix - i love it! makes me want to go get my hair chopped off :) maybe a visit to a stylist will be my 40lbs lost reward!

this week i didn't exercise at all, but stuck to my calorie limit like glue (i even made curtis eat half of my grilled cheese because the whole thing would have put me over). the scale rewarded me today with loss of 2.2 for the week, to 262.6.... down 1.1 from yesterday, but i've been holding water all week. glad it decided to disappear before my weigh in! :D

gettin pretty close to time for a new pic, and a new charm! (i haven't actually bought any charms yet, i'm waiting til it's time to add 2 or 3, so they don't look so lonely on my bracelet!) i've also got plans with my mama to go to the salvation army and buy some 'goal' clothes. my size 22/3xl stuff is baggy and loose and falling off of me, so i need to get some 20s and 2xls i think. but i also want to get an outfit in 18s, 16s, and 14s as motivation. all of my current 'goal' clothes fit and i have nothing smaller because this is the smallest i've been as an adult (hello NSV!), but i don't want to spend a ton of money since i don't plan on staying that size forever.

today i just feel really happy with my progress and finally FINALLY feel confident that i can keep this up long term and ultimately reach my goals. probably why i was stalling on the new clothes. i had a habit of it in the past, buying something smaller as motivation, then ignoring it and giving it away without ever wearing it. 37.4 pounds down, 97.6 pounds (less than 100!) to go! :D

also, copied and pasted from the independence day challenge - this is my weekly progress since i started recording my weight on a regular basis.

3/25 - 291.4
4/1 - 287.9 (-3.5)
4/8 - 284.8 (-3.1) (total 6.6lbs)
4/15 - 282.4 (-2.4) (total 9lbs)
4/22 - 278.2 (-4.2) (total 13.2lbs)
4/29 - 276.9 (-1.3) (total 14.5lbs)
5/6 - 274.5 (-2.4) (total 16.9lbs)
5/13 - 271.8 (-2.7) (total 19.6lbs)
5/20 - 267.9 (-3.9) (total 23.5lbs)
5/27 - 274.6 (+6.7) (total 16.8lbs) (yikes!)
6/3 - 269.8 (-4.8) (total 21.6lbs)
6/10 - 266.5 (-3.3) (total 24.9lbs)
6/17 - 264.8 (-1.7) (total 26.6lbs)
6/24 - 262.6 (-2.2) (total 28.8lbs)
7/1 -

7/4 - 260lbs (2.6 lbs to go!)

Angie..hope you're having a ball :spin: thanks :) he won the first set but play was canceled cause of rain :(

Vixsin,love the shorter cut! glad you've been able to get some sleep and lost some fat too..awesome :carrot:I had another blessing last night.I was talking to friend who happens to own Curves.she said..that she used to walk in the mornings and at night everyday.

She said,She was working so hard and that She couldn't understand why she wasn't losing weight.later on she bought Curves and was studying to learn about the weight management program (that they have there). In doing so,she learned,all that time she was walking and not losing... all she had to do was eat more.

Go Roxy Go!!! 4 hours!! :cp:

Jamie,what a lovely scene at the airport :love: hope your gram's has a wonderful birthday :) ah..yes...time for some TLC for DH! thanks! you're welcome :)

KuKKie,great job on the .9!

Aimee,hope your Knee is better and you had fun in Vegas!

Morning :wave:
Sorry went off radar yesterday-had another 0.4 gain and just couldn't cope :(
Am the same today, but very confused and anxious. I think perhaps after all the losing my body is saying that it doesn't want to lose more at the moment. I am going to concentrate on maintaining and then work on the last few pounds to get under 150. This has been the hardest part of this process so far. I know I've more weight to lose, but anything I've tried doesn't seem to help right now. Sanity calls, and realistically I know it will start moving again. I just need to ride this one out-KBO !!

I'm up .8 today to 189.6. I feel that I deserve that gain today, I cracked last night and had a whole wheat tortilla with some pb on it last night...like an hour before I went to bed. :yikes: tonight my goal will be for NO SNACKING at night. The object of increasing my cals is to END any snacking. I'm reminding myself of that.

I am DETERMINED to get a run in today. I didnt get to yesterday but I did manage about 20 mins of dancing since I downloaded some new music, I just had to try it out. LOL

Just finished my chobani with kashi and a string cheese for breaky. The plan is to go to a wing place for lunch which means yumminess!! The wings are amazing. I am vowing to you guys to NOT go overboard on the french fries. I can binge OUT on some fries. i will not do that today.

OH!! I meant to tell you guys yesterday that I scheduled an appointment with my old "fat doctor", Dr. K. He runs a local weight loss center. He's the one that started me on my journey...well things he said did. I made an appointment so that I can go back to him after being away this long (approx 1.5 yrs) and show him that "I got it". I also want to ask him about possibly interning or something in his office. I feel the need to tell him that I really want to start my career journey in HIS office because it was his words that really resonated in my head that helped me make the choice to get healthy. I'm excited about seeing him and showing off my progress. :) I knew you guys could enjoy that excitement with me!

Good morning :) I am up 1.6 today to 213.2, but not too worried about it. On my nike+ I tracked walking 10k yesterday, and I would estimate another 3k for the times I forgot to turn it on or when it paused because I stood still for a minute. When Cameron was waiting in line with his friend I would pace back and forth in front of the ride while I waited rather than sitting or leaning. We ate 2 meals there instead of the 1 I'd planned, and the 2nd one was Chinese (Eek sodium!), but all in all I was low on calories, netting out at about 850 for the day after the exercise. I drank 2 bottles of water, but they only came to about 1.5 litres, so not enough and not as much as I would on a normal day. We have seasons passes for this place so my learnings for next time are just that the portions are enormous, so I'll only order 1 of whatever for Cameron and I to share, and I won't go to the Chinese place (our friends' choice). I did stick to the plan about pizza at lunch (no veggie, so I had cheese) and my treat was a small strawberry sundae. Other than the the only unplanned thing was the orange chicken :D, and I think that had a big impact. I'm also quite sore...feels like more in my bones than in my muscles, but I'm probably retaining a good bit of water there too. Also I weighed in last night at 215.8, same as the evening before...but Friday morning I was down to 211.6, and today it was only down to 213.2, and that's weighing in 1.5 hrs later than usual.

Starbrite -- good plan, maybe your body just wants to settle into this weight for a bit before losing again.

Diana -- Sleep? Bah, who needs it...lol.

Vixsin -- Careful around those fries! It's the wings that would do me in. Love the new hair length, it frames your face nicely :)

Aimee -- Welcome back! Where did you stay? What did you see? How much damage did you do? lol

Mandy -- Great nails!

Kris -- I love M & Ms...lol I'm going to get cravings whenever you mention your grandsons :lol2: Good job on your .6

Ona -- Congrats on the .4, keep at it, the numbers will change - you've faced these stalls before and always come out on top. :cheer:

I'm down .8 today to 172. I actually ended up only doing 135 minutes of workout yesterday since they scheduled each class to be 45 minutes and the last one was yoga. I do not do yoga. I'm off to a 2 hour zumbathon today.

Jami - Congrats on less than a pound gain! The airport scene sounds so sweet.

Vixsin - Your hair looks really cute. Yay about the appointment.

Mandy - Congrats on having under 100 to go. I have boxes of goal clothes that I gather either free or really really cheap. I keep them boxed up and out of the way so that they aren't taunting me and then I keep 1 outfit in the next size down in my closet where I can see it. It seems to help. I like the nails.

Aimee - Glad you had a great time and that you're back home safely.

Angie - Chinese is always a killer for the scale. It'll be gone again soon though. Good job on the pacing instead of just standing there waiting.

I hope everyone is having an awesome weekend!

was kinda scared to weigh in today since i had a hefty steak dinner last night (8oz sirloin, baked potato, corn on the cob w/ butter then brownies and strawberries later) i kept it within my calories, and the scale rewarded me this morning with 261.9, down .7 .... hopefully that means i can say goodbye to 262 :)

pretty excited by my trip to target last night. size 20 jeans fit and i got a sports bra in a 2xl :D

happy saturday everyone, hope ya'll have a good weekend!

Hi Everybody :wave:

WI @186.2 today! had to get up earlier than usual to jog so i would make it back in time to see Nadal play... plus so many people are at the track on Saturdays, i try to beat the crowd and BM issues.

But The best news of all...

I came home,rested a little while..then went to Curves but forgot they closed early on Saturday :o..on my way back home,saw some people playing tennis on the courts and they looked as if they needed another person for doubles..well, i stopped,introduced myself,etc..got my racket/balls out the car and...

I played 5 games of Tennis This Morning:yay: we lost 3 games to 2 but it's felt so good,didn't want to stop(they stopped, had been there a long time already before i came.I still would have played) and had forgot how much i love to play.Can't wait to play again,they got my number and said they would call me!

My scale needs a new battery. I will go pick one up when DH gets home from work this evening. I had a red chile breakfast burrito for breakfast/lunch (read: tons of sodium), so it will probably not be awesome tomorrow. That's ok, I'm OP and the scale will reflect that at some point or another! On another note, I had a friend tell me today that I'm getting "skinny" lately. It made me feel good! :D

Ona - that's awesome about the tennis! I've never been able to grasp the rules of that sport, people that can play (ie - you!!) amaze me! :)

:wave: everyone! I hope you're having a great weekend! Sorry I don't have much time for personals, I need to get my house into some kind of order before DH gets home from work. :)

Great NSV! All though the Month hasn't gone like you would have wanted,you've loss inches and staying w/it..you could have let things get really out of control, gain several lbs but you didn't :bravo: signs of a winner ;)

Ok y'all..

Just received this PM that was so beautiful.. I just had to shared it with you guys.I hope each of you will find some kind of inspiration in parts of it.It was sent to me by a person that i call my Mentor,a God-sent and someone that is really just Awesome.Someone that I've never meet and has been there for me since the very first day of my Journey.I had PM'd him about a week ago when i was frustrated.He was out of town and just got back to me.......

Hey there Ona!

It sounds like from your latest journal post you may have moved past your moment of crisis already anyway!:lol:

I really wouldn't have had much to say or add anyway. Keep changing things up a bit and have patience! My last 5 pounds to get from 185 to 180 (I hit "normal" BMI @ 178) took about 6 months. I had a vacation blip in there so it went up before it started going down again, but there was still a multiple month period in there with no weight loss at all and then over a few weeks it magically left for some reason. Can't really explain it. I wasn't really doing anything differently and had pretty much resigned myself to something near 185 and then it finally moved. I've been as low as 176 and currently am back up in the 183-185 range. I'm OK with that now. Sometimes I just don't like working that hard at it! :D

As always practice self-compassion and patience. Know that you are in so much of a better place than when you started and take comfort and pride in that too! In yoga one of the moral observances is "santosha" or contentment. It doesn't mean we stop trying to be better or improve or change, it simply gives us permission to be content with where we are at in the present moment. We are exactly where we need to be at any point in time and we are capable of far more than we ever are able to imagine. I'd say going from a size 28 to 14 is a pretty awesome thing!! Making it to a 12 or 10 or wherever you eventually end up isn't really going to make you a better person or necessarily contribute to your long term happiness and worth. It will feel great I am sure for a little while, but after that glow fades, you will still need to eat this way, keep active and keep being the best person in the world you were meant to be.

You obviously have a very strong faith in God. Remember that there is a divine aspect within you as well and remember to honor and have faith in yourself too! We have a saying in yoga to "Doubt your doubts!" It's pretty self explanatory but it recognizes that often the single biggest obstacle to achieving our dreams is our ego that loves to dwell in the area of self doubt and self-deprecation and wants us to believe we are not "fill-in-the-blank enough". Or as Marianne Williamson states in her famous observation on fear: "We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God." Whether you are 186 or 180 you are still your amazing, beautiful, divine you! Try "going with that" for awhile and see how it suits you!!

Take care and be well my friend. Just keep going. You've already experienced where the other options lead to and end up and I know you don't want to go back there. Or as Bobby McFerrin once so famously sang, "Don't worry. Be Happy!"

Hugs! Have a great Weekend!

Angie - We stayed at Bally's (40 bucks a night for 2 people!), my grandma and aunt stayed at The Flamingo. We went to Penn & Teller, who were surprisingly good, we also went on a plane to see the Grand Canyon and the Hoover Dam. We gambled at Ceasar's, Flamingo, Bally's, Paris, Treasure Island, and the Cosmopolitan. Went to Fashion Show Mall, South Outlets (so disappointing :( ). Shopped the strip, visited as many hotels as possible. And found time for the pool, and of course some of the free shows on the strip. The heat was impressive, 42 degrees! I thought I might melt, but at least with that heat it's too hot to sweat! Phew, how was that for a mouth full? Where did you stay? What did you do/see? OH - I went to the M&M store and got some with my name on them, so much fun! :lol:

Roxy - thanks :)

I weighed in today, up 7.1 pounds. Not too bad since I haven't weighed in 2 weeks and I ate late last night and haven't had a good nights sleep in a week! I'll check in tomorrow, hopefully that'll drop some :)

I made some homemade teriyaki vegetables tonight. They were really good. I hope the sodium doesn't jump on me in the morning. :lol: We know it will. :dizzy:

Reptogirl Congrats on the 1.6 pounds from yesterday.

Aimee Welcome back. I'm glad that you enjoyed your vacation. It sounds fantastic!

Angie I will see your Chinese food and raise you some teriyaki vegetables. Ha Ha Did I say that right? :lol: I will be moaning the blues tomorrow AM. You would think I would have learned by now. ;)

Fitgirlygirl Congrats on the .8.

Ilbnej Congrats on the 1.3 pounds.

Kukkie Is TTOM worse for you since you went off the pill?

Roxy -- Good job on the .8 today, I think 135 minutes of exercise is pretty amazing!

Mandy -- Congrats on your .7 :)

Ona -- That is so awesome that you introduced yourself and got to play tennis today! Good for you, I think that is very brave and so friendly of you. Sounds like a lot of fun too. :) What a kind and insightful pm from your friend!

Aimee -- Sounds like fun! We stayed at The Venetian, but that's because it was a work event and our conference was there. We gambled and explored the strip from our hotel up to Aria pretty much. The only show we went to see was Cirque Du Soleil 'Viva Elvis', which I loved loved loved. We were treated to a night at Tao nightclub by the company hosting our event, and that was a lot of fun too. Normally I wouldn't have felt young or cool enough to go there, but when it was filled with fellow software users I fit right in..lol.

Diana -- I'm lol here - hope the teriyaki veggies don't hit you too hard. I was good today, and I plan to avoid all sodium tomorrow. I need a good whoosh right about now!

Ona: Thanks for sharing that. I think we all can take away a little something from that. :hug:

So the wing place today was a RAGING success!!! :drool: I had 1 wing. It was GOOOOD too! :drool: I had the broiled chicken wrap (flour wrap, not wheat. :( ) it had lettuce and tomato, both of which on the second half I scraped off. It was drizzled with the same honey bbq sauce that was on Maxwell's wings. It was really good. I did good on the fries. I gave approx. 3/4 of them to Maxwell. I had some of my own that I enjoyed and I stopped when I was done and I didn't pick any off his plate. That was a WIN! Then my friend wanted to go to McDonalds with her kids and let them all run loose in the play area. So after I got home, I stir fried up some salmon and packed up a quick salad, cheese stick and a luna bar and I brought it with me!!! I was so proud of myself!!! I logged everything into Myfitnesspal. Another win for today.

The plan is a spontaneous trip to 6 flags tomorrow! :woohoo: I've never been to the one near my house before, neither has Maxwell, so this should be a good time. After we get done with that, the plan is to drop my boy off to my parents for the evening so I can do what I need to on Monday morning and get to all of my appointments. I'm looking very, very forward to sleeping nice and late on Monday morning.

So my friend from McD's texts me and tells me how great I look and that the work is paying off for me. I thanked her and told her how much I appreciated her comment. It made me feel so good that I went down and got me a quick 20 min run in. I worked up a nice little sweat. It felt SO good!!! I'm gonna regret working out so late when Maxwell gets me up around 7ish but it's worth it to me right now. LOL

Sleep tight everybody!

Diana TOM is definitely worse for me now. This is my second one off the pill and I'm irritated, cramping, craving junk galore, not to mention the fact that it's become really heavy. I'm not happy especially since I'm still fluctuating like crazy. *sigh* What to do? :lol:

I'm down 2 pounds to 170 which is a new low for this year and I'm under 10 pounds from my low from last year. TOM is teasing me and has been trying to start for 3 days and I am soooo hungry. Good times had by all today!!! I am flat out exhausted. LOL I didn't ride many rides. It was more for the kids today but Maxwell had a wonderful time! He went on a few rides that scared him. One he tolerated and was glad when it was over, the second he got off the ride and burst into tears. :( BUT with all of that, there was 1 coaster that he LOOOOVED and could ride over and over. So I focused on the good and acknowledged and validated him on the bad (crying and being scared/embarrased, etc.) and gushed with how proud I was of him for being nervous/scared about a ride and still trying it anyway. I told him that it was just fine if he didn't like the ride and he doesn't have to go on it again if he doesn't want to. The point was that he was brave enough to try. I just love him! Today was a victory for him in so many ways. He's sleeping at my parents house tonight so I can be a busy bee on my day off tomorrow and when we got there, he was really talking up the day. I told my friend Bill that we made a memory today for Maxwell. I was glad they were a part of it.

I had no issues with the food at all. My issue for today is that there is no way I got enough calories. :no: :nono: My breakfast was less than 300. My lunch ended up being 1 chicken tender..I'd give it 2 oz..breaded. I also had about 10 french fries. I had atleast 40 oz of sprite today. :barf: I had Maxwell's 5 leftover wings when I got home and I'm chugging some crystal light like a fiend. LOL

I am expecting a gain in the morning due to junk and soda and I can feel my legs getting sore already.

Off to bed. Hope you guys had a great weekend!

I'm up .4 to 170.4. Hmph! TOM is still messin with me. I hate months like this. It's like I have an entire week of the first day of TOM and then I have TOM after that. It's quite annoying. However, it seems that on the months that I have had a 'normal' cycle, I have had a day of OMG screaming pain cramps each time and I barely get cramps at all during months like this one, so not sure which I'd choose.Since hubby and I have chosen adoption instead of AI for now I am thinking of going to get some BCP to regulate this mess and hopefully reduce the pain on that one crampy day. Any recommendations?

Angie - Congrats on yesterday's whoosh! I'll be :crossed: that you get to keep all of it (or at least most).

Vixsin - I'm glad you and Maxwell had such a great day. I loved hearing about his bravery. Way to go Maxwell! :carrot:

Never got to the personals yesterday, hope everyone had a good weekend!

I'm walking on air today...my whoosh from yesterday stuck, plus I lost another .6 today - I'm happy that I think I've found the right calorie range and exercise combo to get me losing again. I'll probably end up around -4lbs for the month, but that's much better than the ZERO for last month. :p

Cameron is graduating from kindergarten today, so he wore his chinos and a little white linen short sleeved shirt. As I was ironing his shirt this morning he told me he was embarrassed to wear those clothes, and I told him that all the other kids would likely be wearing special clothes too. Then he got upset and said, "No! All the other kids will have tuxedos!" Finally, I had to agree that if we got to school and everyone else had a tuxedo, we would go right over to the mall and get him one too. :lol3: Also, last night when I tucked him in he asked me if I was going to come to his graduation today, and when I said yes he said, "I'm so proud!" lol.

Diana -- Thanks! I'm totally up for a great week. Congrats on your .2 today!

Vixsin -- Sounds a lot like our day on Friday, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Cameron went out of his comfort zone a bit too and tried some bigger rides too. I didn't go on a lot of rides either..omg I cannot take the spinny rides anymore!

Morning Starbrite!

Kukkie -- Congrats on your .2 today!

Roxy -- I think the BCP might help with the length of TOM and also with the cramps. Maybe you can ask for the very mild ones.

Gale -- That is so frightening! Where will you guys go if you are evacuated?

Ilbnej - Morning!

Angie - We'll either head to Albuquerque or to Colorado, depending on the situation. We had a fire (The Cerro Grande Fire) burn through about half of our town in 2000. It took a little over a month and burned around 48,000 acres. This current fire (The Las Conchas Fire) started at 1pm yesterday afternoon and as of 8am today has burned 43,500 acres. It's fast, hot and already less than a mile from Lab (www.lanl.gov) property. We are predicted to have hot weather, low humidity (no rain) and high winds for the next couple of days. Basically, all of the conditions needed for a really destructive blaze.

We're just watching and waiting for the evacuation call.

Boy oh boy! I am definitely going the wrong direction. I think it's safe to say that my June OP Weekend Challenge didn't work out so well. I did finally make it back to the gym this morning. First time back since June 16th! Ack! I am hoping that most of that 2.8 gain is sodium as I do tend to retain a ton of water during TTOM...who is still here BTW. It's okay though, I'm rolling with the punches and am finally back on OP. Unfortunately, I'm heading out of state for another week long trip this weekend. I'm looking forward to the trip but am losing confidence in my ability to maintain control when not at home. I'll figure it out though... :D Afterall...Rome wasn't conquered in a day, right?

*TMI Alert*-My burps taste oddly of fish this morning. I wonder if it's because of the Fish Oil pill I'm taking. This has never happened before but it's really grossing me out!

Vix - So happy to hear that you're getting back into a regular sleep pattern. And the new and improved hair cut is even better! LOVE IT! That's a great story about your "fat doctor." I really hope you're able to get a spot in his office! And wow - your day Saturday sounded great and a nice compliment to top it all off! And that whooh Sunday morning was pretty sweet!! I have also had the "brave enough to try" conversation with my DS too...he's always been a bit nervous to try the "big" rides too. :)

MamaP -- Oh, that idea of the M&M tattoo is very cute! Too bad you can't get it!

Mandy -- What kind of bracelet do have and what kind of charms are you adding? You are doing so great! Almost 40lbs down! AMAZING! The 4th of July nails are so cute! (They match your ring nicely as well!) You are knocking on 250's door! You're doing so great!

reptogirl -- Hang in there!!! :hug:

Aimee -- Welcome back!! So happy to hear you had a great time!

Starbrite -- :hug:

Diana -- I hate it when I wake up earlier than I need to! :dizzy:

Angie -- Glad to hear you had a good time at the park with Cam last week! Overall it looks like you didn't due too shabby! Nice whoosh Sunday morning!!! So happy to see that it stuck! Have a great time at Cameron's graduation today!

Roxy -- Only 135 minutes of workout?!?! LOL! Congrats on being down 2lbs and reaching your new low yesterday!

Kukkie -- Boo TOM!

OnaMi -- That story about the tennis is so great! GOOD FOR YOU! It sounds like you found a way to shake up the workouts...I bet you start seeing that downtrend again!

Gale -- :wave: You're having a nice down trend to finish out the month. Keep it up! Wow about that picture. It's scary but what an amazing picture! Praying that you and your family are kept safe!

Jen -- You are on a nice roll! Keep it up!

I hope everyone had a great weekend. Mine was crazy busy. Yesterday was the little one's first birthday so I spent a good portion of my weekend getting ready for that (monkey cupcakes and a monkey cake) and the yesterday all day for the final prep, party and clean up. The monkey cupcakes were an experiment and I used store-bought frosting which is never a good thing for decorating (too soft). They were cute, but I can't decide if it's because they were "so ugly they were cute." The little man obviously liked his cake, too.

My sleep has been cut short for several days and I didn't get enough water in over the weekend so I'm a little puffy today. I also had to come into work early today so no WI for me. Maybe tomorrow - even though I know I have to come in early again tomorrow.

Gale - Praying for your safety and others in your town too. :hug:

Angie - That is too much cuteness, a tux, lol.

Jami - Yes, only 135 since I had planned for 4 hours. Is ok, I did 2 hours of zumba Saturday. I'm insane, in case you didn't notice ;) I'm sorry the scale is not friendly right now, but yes you WILL sort it out. It doesn't matter if you lose the sprint as long as you finish the marathon!

MamaP - I think the monkeys are adorable!

Well, the scale is going to be going back up. We've decided to head to Florida for the 4th. Vacation, especially at my father's place, always means the scale heads upward. That's ok, I haven't had a 4th of July at home in years and it's worth it. I will fix it when I get home.

Hi gang!!!! :grouphug:

I'm down .8 today to 187.2. Hello new low! :wave:

The appt at the fat doctor was good. Anti-climactic because he stored all of the old charts, so I wasn't able to find out what my weight was the last time I saw him. No worries though, I told him my want to get into the health and wellness field and he gave me some directions to go in and some ideas on information to look up. I've got another appointment with him in 3 months to touch base again and check in. that will be right around the time that i start school. I hope to have a plan in place to be able to share it with him. Overall, it was a great visit. I didn't feel the way I wanted to but then I realized that the wants I was having were more of the "old me" kind of wants so then I understood why I didnt feel all "center of attention, look how much weight you've lost" thing. I took away from this visit that he knows I get it. Now I want to create the bridge from doing it for me to teaching others how to do it for themselves. Showing them how and giving them the tools they need to achieve it.

Starting from the 23rd

Thanks Diana I'm hanging in there/here :) Sorry about TOM coming every and with extra baggage :hug: We have a restaurant here called I <3 teriyaki, very good and doesn't do too bad with the sodium. I'm sure your vegetables were delish :)

Angie thanks for the hug :) Glad you had a great time at the amusement park. :) great whoosh :high: Angie I just love the conversation with Cameron :)

Jami that is a good idea, since I tend to sometimes forget where I am after I preview it and other have updated, that's where I screw up. It's a great idea also Let's both give a hard push to the end of the month. My goal is to hit 10lbs lost (-3.1lbs) by June 30th and to be 100% OP for the next 7 days. You are doing great. I wish I had signed back on the next day and read this now I only have 2 days to go because today has already been a bust :(. Not gonna tell you what I've had so far. I looked at it and said wow Rennie not good, (shaking my head). But a BIG :high: FIVE to you! :) Great welcome at the airport. I'm sure your husband will cherish every moment of his ME time with you :) Sorry about the fish taste yuck.

Vixsin great hair cut :) I am very excited for and with you about going to see your former doctor. And what a great place to intern. People can actually see your before and after if you want and see that they too can be just like you. :) Great NSV from your friend at McD's :) Congrats on making your GOAL :high: Maxwell is a trooper ... good for him. :hug: I think your visit would have been better had he had the chart also. Then he could have seen his notes and what-nots. But glad you are still pointed in the right direction you go Girl :)

Great NSV Mandy :high: and for what it's worth, I think you are doing great on your journey and with your goals :hug: Love the nails, very pretty. :)

Ona don't get numb to the scale you're doing great. ... on me ... I am so trying. I am still shaking my finger and head at myself and trying to listen to and hear YOU ALL but your voices are too low. I seriously need my phone every 30 minutes to every hour to chime and say DON'T EAT THAT. I know I am out of control. I walked 3 miles on Friday, 2.6 miles on Saturday with a little jogging in between (boy did my thighs hurt) and yesterday Bill bought me a bike. I haven't road a bike since I was 17 and my knees and thighs were killing me. And I still came in here and ate cookout food, bad choice. So I need some type of intervention because I have fallen and I can't get up :( Ona on the tennis you go girl :high: Great PM from your friend. :)

Vicki good to see you :)

Aimee welcome home :hug: I'm playing catch up also :D Aimee you had a ball ... I'm glad you had that enjoyable time away :hug:

starbrite again for what it's worth I think you have done great. So please don't get upset at those small gains because they always go away. Keep that confidence that has got you this far and those last few pounds will come off quickly. :hug:

FitGirly you are just a workout-athon guru :high: :) Congrats on your new low :high: enjoy Florida and your family what a treat :)

ilbnej just moving on down :)

Gale I love to hear that word, Skinny, haven't heard it in awhile :lol: great NSV :) I know you don't need to be told but Be Safe my friend, sorry you are going through this again :hug:

envelope they do grow up so quickly ... and bittersweet is the right word :) good job on the .2 :)

Hi reptogirl :wave:

Kris I remember you, m3rma1d and I talking about tattoos last year and you wanted to do the M&M can you put it in another spot or are you set on your ankle? BTW I love the cupcakes and the cake. I think they are very pretty, you've got talent :)

Hi Coondocks, eclipse, Shylah, Matilda, Rhonda and everyone I may have missed :wave:

I'm back to my green font. I'm still here gonna say June was a bust and hopefully pick myself up in July.

There's been a mandatory evacuation of Los Alamos proper, we here in White Rock (about 10 miles away) are waiting for the call to go. Here's a couple more recent pics of the fire. The first one is the fire behind the main admin building at LANL (our primary employer) and the second one is the fire burning through the canyon behind our hospital.

Ona -- Those are great numbers! You've done a lot since January, congratulations! There were some tough periods for you since I joined this group, but you always persevere and get your breakthrough. I know you might feel you need a bit of a break, but last week you helped me by reminding me that I can't let thoughts of being tired of trying hard slow me down because it just opens a door for more negative or defeatist thoughts. I'm returning the favour by giving you back your own good advice. Fight on my friend! :sumo:

Envelope -- It was bittersweet. He was so proud. We decorated the deck and had a little graduation party after school -- I bought him flowers and a water gun...lol.

Gale -- I can't even imagine how you must be feeling. Are people still expected to show up for work? What happens to people who don't have somewhere else to go? Please stay safe!

Mandy -- Too bad about the .7 gain, hope you get it off and more tomorrow :)

Jami -- I struggle when traveling for work too...I don't know what it is -- you'd think you would do better when you only have yourself to think about, but for some reason I get very self-indulgent when on the road. Next time I go I'm going to try to plan better & go to a grocery store to get some healthy snacks. I take omega 3 capsules and I always worry that I'll have fishy burps or fishy breath, but it hasn't happened yet -- weird that its only happening now for you. I hope it goes away quickly!

Kris -- The cake and cupcakes are adorable! I'll take a cupcake please!

Vixsin -- Good job on your .8 today. Sorry the Dr. appt was a bit anticlimactic :(

Rennie -- July is going to be your month, you can do anything you put your mind to!

Starbrite .2 is not bad considering the sausage.

Kukkie Congrats on the .2.

Fitgirlygirl TTOM is kicking my butt today, too. I did a weight workout and literally had to go down in the weights. I couldn't lift as heavy as I normally do. I felt so weak.

Gale Great job on the 2.4 pounds. How are things going there?

Ilbnej Hi :wave:

Angie I'm glad the whoosh stuck and took an other .6 with it! :carrot:

Envelope Great job on that .2. I know it was hard work! :high:

Reptogirl Hi :wave:

Mandy Hi :wave:

JamiSue What is the most difficult part of your eating while out of town? Maybe we can help and come up with some ideas for you.

Vixsin Congrats on the .8!

Rennie Hi! :wave: It's good to see you. I agree with Angie. You can accomplish anything you set your mind to. Look at your weight loss like any other task you need to accomplish around the house or job that you need to get done.

Ona Great job on those inches!

Gale I could only open the first picture ... my goodness that is scary :hug:

Ona I'm telling you if it weren't for a sense of humor I may just cry :lol: I have clothes that I can no longer fit (some I haven't had a year yet) and I'm eating like my skinny Mother and daughter that have never had an issue with weight. Shaking my head at me again :) Great numbers Lady :high: You go Girl :)

Angie and Diana thanks I sure hope so :)

I attempted to ride my bike today, but we were also teaching Marissa to ride. A guy and his wife noticed that she needed a bigger bike and offered us one that their children had used and we went to pick it up so we'll try again tomorrow. I thought the one she was on was perfect for now since when she felt like she was gonna fall she'd put her feet down with ease but they said she may do better with a taller bike, we'll see. And I'm finding out that cycling makes your behind hurt like crazy, I didn't remember that part. I'm gonna try my level best to eat properly tomorrow. I will keep you all posted. If I slip you'll hear me scream where ever you are.

Gale keep us posted :hug:

Even though I only have another 24 hours (at most) of TTOM, I'm still retaining a fair bit of water. I my ankles and calves were a bit swollen yesterday from my road trip home from my aunt's house and am swollen again today after sitting at my desk all day. Even though it's uncomfortable being swollen, it leaves me hopeful that I might have a whoosh or two before the month is over. :crossed: I was 100% OP today too!! :carrot:

Kris -- The face plant picture is hilarious!! I LOVE IT!!

Roxy -- I think you have a great attitude about your trip for the 4th. Sometimes you just have to be prepared for the gain and be ready to make it back up when you get home. It sounds like you're going to have a GREAT time!!

Vixsin -- Yay for a new low!!! You are rockin it Vix!

Rennie -- We have an I <3 Teriyaki here too and I LOVE it! I didn't do so great over the weekend so now I only have three days to push hard. Unfortunately, I won't make it to my goal this month (-10lbs) but hopefully I learned some good lessons to employ in my future efforts! Good job getting out for your ride - even if it was cut short. Sometimes just getting out there is a success!

Gale -- Those pictures are just incredible. Please stay safe!!

OnaMi -- My oh my!! Almost 20" lost?!?! That's amazing! :carrot:

Angie -- I do better when I'm gone for work than I do when I'm just out of town visiting family. For some reason I allow myself to get super lax on my tracking and eat too many snacks.

Diana -- For some reason I just allow my rules to get too lax. There are usually good choices for me to make but I just don't make them. And then the biggest contributor to my gains, I think, is that I don't track so I can more easily "convince" myself that I'm not being as bad as I really am. It's all about choices and it all boils down to me choosing to be off-plan. :( That's okay though, I can work with it as long as I'm being honest with myself, right? :D

I am down 1.2 to 169.2. :carrot::carrot::carrot:

Vixsin - I am glad you left the doc feeling positive (that in itself is an NSV for many of us). I'm sorry about the records.

Gale - I hope you are doing ok. Praying for you and your family

Ona - Florida is home, so I'm very used to the heat. We're going to Panama City, so much fun will be had. Awesome success with the measurements girl! :bravo:

Diana - I did weights yesterday too and while I refused to let myself actually lower my weights, there were a couple times I wished I had and I had to skip a few reps that I normally wouldn't. By then end of class I was so tired and sore that I had to do my push-ups on my knees, hmph!

love2b - She probably will do better with the taller one, doesn't make sense to me either, but seems to work. Get yourself a gel seat, that will save your backside a lot of agony.

Jami - Thanks!

I hope everyone has a terrific Tuesday. I will be packing and doing other pre-trip prep. Fun Fun Fun.

Hmm, what's going on here? I made a post this morning but it's not here. Did a gremlin eat my post or am I going crazy? :dizzy: Can I actually blame it on TTOM? I like to blame everything on TTOM, DH, or the dog, or anyone else I can find to blame. :lol:

Quick one from me today, down 0.1 to 202.5. I'm not quite sure what's been going on with my lately but I generally feel supremely tired, like too exhausted to lift a finger tired by 7ish the past couple of days, which means I've been going to bed early and getting great sleep, except that I'm still tired. Still taking my iron, synthroid and B12, so not quite sure what's what. Any ideas?

Congrats Envelope!!! 50lbs is amazing!!!!! :high: You are doing great!

Kukkie: Congrats on the loss. I hope you can get that tiredness figured out. :hug:

I am down .6 today to 186.6. :) Dare I say that I think the lasting effects of the EVIL Mirena have worked their way out of my system? Dare I speak it's name?!?! TOM's due in town tomorrow. I am starting to feel like my pre-mirena self again....oh..could it be true? :crossed:

Found out over the weekend that my friend is going to be able to accompany me to my other friend's wedding in September! :yay: BIG yay's for that one. I didn't mind going stag because all of my friends are going to be there but it's always nice to have a date and someone by your side.

I realized something today. I am 11 lbs away from my subliminal goal to hit 175 by my friends wedding. I have faith and confidence that I'm going to achieve it. That makes me really happy.

Time to get some work done. I'll check back at lunch. Have an excellent morning! :grouphug:

WI @187.4..no exercise,unplugged the phone last night,fought that antsy feeling to get up and exercise..willed myself to stay in bed till 9am. Will push to jog this afternoon.

Rennie,that's cool riding your bike w/DD :love: try thinking that Today is the very first day you decided you wanted to get healthy and lose some weight in the process.Just Today..and let tomorrow take care of itself.you're stronger than you know.:yes:

Thank youAngie :hug:that was really nice of you :) I'm really good at helping other people,just sometimes I have to dig deep to apply what i believe and know :) eventually I'll get 'er done ;) but in actuality..I'm trying to get my mindset away from reaching goal so much per say and just really adapt to eating healthy,portion control and finding new things/ways (that i enjoy) to keep me moving cause this is my new lifestyle and I'm not going back. Thanks!

261.9 today, down the .7 i was up yesterday, and back to the same weight as a couple days ago. the trick will be to make it go LOWER... and that will definitely be a miracle since TOM is peekin around the corner.

Booo! LOL! Well, I was perfectly OP yesterday. Yay me! TTOM is still lingering, I definitely still retaining water, I ate quite a bit later than usual last night and most of my water was consumed in the evening...so all things considered, I suppose it should be a huge surprise that the scale didn't really budget overnight. I KNOW this is some serious water weight though so I'm anxiously awaiting my whooshes!! :D

Gale -- I REALLY hope you and your family are okay this morning!! :hug:

Roxy -- LOVE your new avatar. It definitely fits you! Nice whoosh!!

Diana -- Dang gremlins! :) You are doing so freaking amazing!!

Jen -- Keep up the good work! You're chipping away at those pounds nice and steady!

Envelope -- wow! 50 lbs!?!?! That's amazing! Keep doing what you're doing!

Kukkie -- You've been behind on your sleep for a while now so hopefully you'll catch back up soon. No other ideas from me.

reptogirl -- You CAN do it!!

Vix -- So happy that you're feeling normal again! You are so going to make the wedding goal! WTG!!

OnaMi -- Morning and thank as usual for all the positive motivation!

Mandy -- You are doing so great! One more day 'til you see the doctor, right?

Hey guys, we're still here.

They haven't evacuated White Rock yet so we're still waiting and watching. The fire crested our ski hill last night, so I can see the flames coming down the mountain from our house now. There're a lot of slurry bombers flying over, and we're all watching the fire reports religiously these days.

A lot of people have left, but there's still quite a few of us here. I got together with a few other moms today and we let our kids play and swim in the back yard (the wind is blowing away from us this afternoon so the sky is surprisingly clear of smoke for the moment.) My DH is rock climbing and I just got the kids down for a nap. I think we've all spent the last couple of days holed up worrying and are now trying to have a small glimpse of normality, even if I am driving to my friends' house with all of our belongings packed into the suburban.

So, I'm hanging in there... ready for the call to evacuate, but hoping it doesn't come. :)

:wave: to everyone! I hope you are all having a great week so far!

Oh yeah, I think Angie asked about work. They shut down the lab on Monday and it's still closed. About 12,000 people commute up here from neighboring communities and they certainly didn't want the burden of having to evac that many extra people. Even if they get this under control in the next day or two they probably won't open again until after the holiday weekend. Now that townsite is on mandatory evac all of the local businesses in Los Alamos are also closed. We have the grocery store still open here in White Rock, but pretty much everything else is closed.

ETA: No WI for me today. I forgot.

So here's an aerial picture of our town when it's not on fire (This is Los Alamos, White Rock isn't on here.) The fire has come down the mountains and is now only about 1/2 mile away from the edge of the town (which starts about 1/4 of the way down the picture.) As you can see, we're built on top of mesas and so have tons of canyons that the fire is using to travel through very quickly. It's nearly impossible to fight a fire in a canyon, they can't send personnel into the canyons because there's no expedient way out. They've started some (successful, so far) backburns and have been bulldozing the forest to create firebreaks. After the Cerro Grande fire of 2000, they also constructed a water tank with an 8 million gallon capacity, so that is one huge tool being used to our advantage right now.

Thanks for all of the prayers and support, I really appreciate it!

I felt a lot better during my workout today than I did yesterday.

Starbrite I thought you posted before me this morning. Did you? I can't find my post and I don't see yours. Maybe you didn't post and I didn't hit Submit on mine. :lol:

Jamie It's tough traveling while trying to stay on plan. Just do the best you can. Also, like you said, just be honest with yourself. Hang in there.

Fitgirlygirl Congrats on the 1.2 pounds.

Ilbnej Great job on the .2.

Envelope Congrats on the 50 pounds! Great work!

Kukkie When was the last time your thyroid levels were tested?

Reptogirl Great job on the .4.

Vixsin Congrats on the .6 and for your friend being able to attend the wedding with you.

Ona The funny thing about my earlier, missing post, is that I thought Starbrite had posted before me. Maybe I was having a PMS moment. :lol:

Mandy Congrats on getting rid of the .7. Hopefully it's gone for good this time. ;)

JamiSue Thank you! :hug:

Gale Glad that you were able to check in. Keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

Ahh! Half of my whoosh ran away..up 1.6 today for no apparent reason. Still on plan though, so I'm counting on a make up whoosh in the next day or two or I will be very grumpy.

There is a quote I've heard recently at work when I've attended women in leadership events, and it is "What got you here might not get you there." At work it's a reminder to change your game up and do what's required to get (promoted) to the next level -- but I think that's applicable for weight loss too. What worked to lose the first half of my weight may not be what is needed to lose the 2nd half -- what was tried and true might need to be adjusted as my body changes. Sometimes I get frustrated and think 'I'm doing the right things, I'm doing what has always worked for me', I'm going to try to keep quote in mind as I try to work my way through the rest of this journey. Just a thought I had and I wanted to share it here.

Rennie -- I bought a gel seat cover for my bike at Walmart...that helped a bunch with the sore butt!

Jami -- I love how you have found a silver lining in cankles! lol -- it's so true though, when I do retain water now I'm almost excited about the whoosh.

Roxy -- Congrats on the 1.2!

Diana -- Good job on your .4 -- any plans for the holiday weekend?

Envelope -- Good for you! Congratulations on your 50lb milestone!! :carrot:

Kukkie -- My number one guess for your symptoms is PREGNANCY! lol however, if that's out of the question I'd say visit the dr. for some bloodwork. :D

Vixsin -- Good job on your .6 :)

Ona -- Me too, I'm married to healthier eating and being active now, this is how I want my life to be, and these are the habits and values I want to set down for Cameron. You are always an inspiration to me.

Gale -- I'm glad you are able to stay in your home for now. I hope the efforts to curb the fire work and you won't have to go.

Gale -- I'm so happy that you guys are all doing well. I think you're forgiven for forgetting to WI...you have SO much going on!

Angie -- Great job staying on plan, especially with the ups and downs! That work quote is pretty great actually and it's definitely applicable to weight loss and a great reminder to shake things up.

Morning :wave:
I have no clue what is going on with me, up 0.6 yesterday, up 0.4 today :dunno: been wildly hot here, so could be a water retention thing as my ankles were very swollen. Rather a downer though.
I was wondering Diana what stats you had when you got to my weight- as in what was a typical month like at that point? Just curious to see.
Also have a question about food- I don't think I've been eating enough and I know that can contribute major league to a plateau. I'm not looking not lose much just 6lbs. I guess I just have to accept it will be slow, and to eat more of the right stuff. I am so fed up with seeing a little gain on the scale GRRR

Good Morning, Everyone! :wave:

I woke up earlier than the alarm clock! I still got 7 hours of sleep, though. I tend to have sleep issues during TTOM. Sometimes I only get 5 hours of sleep during that time. So, I'm looking at this in a positive way. Some people don't even get 7 hours on a good day, so I will take it! I think the TTOM water weight has finally caught up with me, too. I was shocked that I didn't gain before now. Again, thinking positive. I'll take it. ;) Now on another positive note, TTOM will you please leave the premises, soon? I have plans for the weekend! :p ;)

Calories for yesterday: 1440 + :coffee2:

Weigh In: 144.2 (TTOM)

Up: 1 pound

Angie I tweaked things as I went along in my journey. I also found a calorie range that my body seemed to really like. That's where the 1440 came in. I seemed to lose well when eating that amount + my morning coffee (unless there was TTOM, sodium, or allergic reactions involved). We are going to the OBX, NC. Specifically, we are going to Nags Head Beach. That's a heck of a name, right? :lol: We have never gone to the beach for a get away. We actually live close to the beach, but we are not beach people. I've never liked the sand or sun for that matter. I am very fair skin, so I stay out of the sun. I have always been over weight, so I've never been one to wear shorts, tank tops, swim suits, etc. I've got all my beach clothes and sunscreen, and I'm ready to go!

Starbrite What stats are you interested in? What size I am? Calorie ranges? Clarify, and I will share whatever you need to know. How many calories are you eating daily? Are you still eating lower carb?

Stayed the same today at 202.5 - a tad bit frustrating considering I was on plan yesterday, but it's better than a gain. I did have a better evening yesterday, didn't crash and burn like I have the past couple of days, I actually had some energy, a decent workout and still managed nearly 7 hours of sleep.

Diana I had them checked during my last physical in January and everything was great except my B12 so we added that in and I noticed a huge difference with that. I'm almost wondering if it's simply because of TOM but I'd have to wait until next month to determine that one.

Angie considering I just finished TOM and we've been uber careful since I came off the pill, I'm pretty sure I'm not preggers :lol: But I am due for some bloodwork so we'll see if that shows anything. I absolutely loved that quote and I think I'm going to print it out and stick it on my fridge! Such a great reminder.

JamiSue I think the way I've been sleeping lately, I'll be caught up in no time!

Gale so glad to see you checking in. Keeping you guys in my thoughts.

Coon & Aimee where are you gals?

Morning!

I'm down .4 today...I had hoped for more of a whoosh, but c'est la vie. Yesterday I was very low on calories, no exercise, no water. I seem to be challenged when I try to eat more calories, everything I go to has more sodium..so if I try to stay low sodium I don't get enough calories...lol. I think I'll have to increase my protein portions a bit to get the extra oomph without all the salt.

Diana -- The beach sounds like fun! You can get a great workout just horsing around in the water. If you need to borrow a 6 year old for that purpose just say the word and I'll fly him out :D. We have a long weekend too, but our holiday day is Friday (Canada Day), I'm still trying to figure out what we are doing this weekend, and next week when I'm off work.

I am down .4 to 168.8. We are leaving for Panama City this morning, so no WI tomorrow. That means that for June I am down 5 pounds even. I know I'm going to be back up in the 170s when I get back here, but I'm going to be as good as I can stand being :devil: and besides, my family and my real home are so worth it. Gonna be hitting a couple favorite restaurants for sure, one of them I haven't taken hubby to yet. We're gonna try to hit some zumba while we're there though and we're going hiking and snorkeling, so that should help.

I am so jealous over all this beach talk. I have always loved the beach...even when I was at my highest weight.

This Sat I have a 5k in the am and then my husbands family reunion in the afternoon. We do not have fixed plans for Sun. but on Mon. we have a 4th of July party in the evening. During the day there are some events taking place at a local park, so maybe I will walk over and check them out.

Still here. It's VERY smokey this morning. The fire is right at 70,000 acres, currently 3% contained. Waiting, waiting, waiting. It's supposed to be windy, hot and dry here again today. :(

We actually had a pretty good day yesterday. We got together with a bunch of friends and let the kids run around while we bbq'ed and hung out together. My mail was delivered and trash service is still picking up. All these small glimpses of normalcy make it a little easier somehow. :)

No WI again today. :shrug: Just not worried about it right this minute.

envelope - i live at the beach (virginia beach, VA actually) and have been maybe 10 times in the 7 years i've lived here. i will probably miss it when i leave.

roxy - i have a bunch of family that lives in panama city! my daddy actually owns some property around deer park (point?) lake? (i think?) which is a little bit outside the area.

Lindy - welcome to the thread! check in every day, it moves quickly around here :)

Jami - glad you're going in the right direction now!

Vix - TOM sucks! he's on his way to visit me next. not looking forward to it. already feeling the effects.

Gale - it's kinda smokey here too, due to a fire burning in the swamp (i know, it's weird) in NC, but it really can't compare to yours! praying for you and yours, stay safe!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
and now for my big spill. it's a long one ladies full of good and bad news. bad news first though, so i can end on a happy note.
weigh in: (this is good news but it's on topic so i'll put it first) 261.2, so down .7 from yesterday... 1.2 pounds from my 4th of july goal. *fingers crossed!*
bad news: no exercise for a while :( i went to the doctor for my ankle today. according to him, i have a partially torn ligament in my right foot. he wrapped it and gave me a boot to wear for 3-5 weeks. told me to take it easy and i have an MRI scheduled for July 5th. more info on that as it comes.
the good news: :D i went shopping at the salvation army store today for some clothes i hope to not fit into for very long... i spent a whole 36 dollars (yay for half price wednesdays!)... my take? 2 pairs size 20 pants that fit properly. 3 pairs size 18 pants that are a bit snug but i can button them. 1 pair size 16 jeans that laughed at me when i tried to put them on, but they were 5 dollars and i will use them for inspiration. i also got 3 shirts in a size smaller than i usually wear (2x instead of 3x), and a dress in a size 20. and so hubby didn't feel left out, i got him a pair of jeans too. (he only has 2 pair, he needed them). so i came out of that pretty good. my budget was 100 bucks and i only spent 36! :D
and to finish off my post with pretty stuff, some pictures:
Gale haven't read through everything yet but wanted to give you a :hug: Glad the kids and you got out yesterday, I hope you don't have to evacuate either :hug: That's a beautiful picture.
Jami with the way things have been going just getting out there is an effort. I have gotten so laxed it's crazy. But I went to see the weight doctor that I hadn't seen in two weeks and hopefully I can get my mojo back and kick him to the curb again. I do love to get out with the kids. Our 13 year old is a little chunky also and although he wants to do a few sports he still doesn't realize that he needs to start conditioning now. Also DD has started her PT training with the Army and I am waiting for her to say come on Mom let's go for a walk/run. She needs to prepare also. They can both get Mommy into shape. :) Jami your whooshes are coming :) Jami :woohoo: what a great NSV :high:
FitGirly, great weigh in yesterday. The bike the couple gave us has a wobbly rear wheel so we'll have to get her another one or replace the bike. This bike also has the hand brakes. I think she would do better with the peddle brakes ... What do you all think? It makes me so nervous when she tries to ride by herself. I can't stand it when one of them gets crash, it's like I can feel the pain. But coming up behind 3 boys, she's a trooper ... Mommy just needs to get it together. I saw those seats in Walmart. There are 8 different ones, I hope I get the right one. I got on one bike that said comfort seat and it hurt also. But I'll find one. Thanks :hug: Enjoy your trip :)
Diana blame it on TOM :lol: Diana that's funny telling TOM to leave :lol: Hope he goes by the weekend :hug:
ilbnej, movin' on down :)
envelope CONGRATS on 50lbs GONE :high: I ;applaud: you on the 5K and enjoy your weekend :)
Kukkie sometimes when I go to bed early I wake up tired also maybe too much rest? Just a thought ... hope your energy comes back :hug: Glad you got to rest well and exercise :)
reptogirl good job on the .4 down :)
Vixsin glad you have a date and Congrats on being close to 175 :high: Gains at the end of the month suck, especially when you do good all month. TOM just sucks but at least you know it's temporary :hug:
I'm here Ona and well said, I really need to check in everyday ... try thinking that Today is the very first day you decided you wanted to get healthy and lose some weight in the process. Just Today ... and let tomorrow take care of itself. You're stronger than you know. Thank you :hug: LOL Ona I remember being stuck at 180 something I thought my scale was broke. 184 and lower are just lurking around the corner :hug:
Mandy good job on the .7 down yesterday :) good job on being so close to your 4th of July goal :high: sorry about your ankle, great job shopping, especially when you buy smaller sizes and save money :) Pretty flowers :)
LOL Angie, which one did you buy? That quote sure applies to me, but then again I don't know since I haven't really done what I did to get here :D but I'm trying to figure it out :) Good job on the .4 down. You know when I try to go low sodium my calories are crazy low also. It's a shame that so many things have a ton of sodium. :)
starbrite it could definitely be the heat, causing the water retention. How your get a whoosh soon :hug:
Hi Lindy :welcome:
Matilda love the new avatar :)
Coondocks, Aimee, Rhonda where are you?
Hi to everyone that hasn't checked in yet :wave:
I weighed in at 179.6 yesterday and 177.2 today. I weighed in two hours later after a much needed BM at 176.6. But you know me I'll take the 177.2. I did eat much better yesterday. I didn't get to walk or ride yesterday because of the rain in the evening and early I had too much to do. I went through some things that my friend was getting rid of since she's moving and it was like Christmas n June. Got a bit of a workout there, between gong through things in the heat and going up and down the stairs. I was a sweaty mess, ew :D. I turned down pizza yesterday, but couldn't resist a small piece of cake. I love white icing. I only had the a small piece about 2x2 inches cut from the middle so I didn't get a ton of the icing though I wanted an edge piece. Nichelle asked me to make a big breakfast this morning and I initially said no because I typically only do that on the weekends but woke up 3 hours earlier than I had been and decided to make breakfast and wake everyone up :). They were all happy. With that said I had 2 pancakes, some eggs with cheese and turkey ham and a glass of OJ. Didn't add up the calories yet. But I had a big salad for lunch so I think I'm doing OK today also.
Kukkie -- Well I thought being pregnant was a long shot, but you know, it's always exciting to hear that someone is having a baby :) When do you start your new job?
Roxy -- Congrats on your .4 today. I hope you have a great time celebrating with your family!
Envelope -- Are you running the 5k? Sounds like a nice weekend.
Vixsin -- Evil TOM! hmph.
Jami -- Congrats on the 1.3 today! That is great news, about your jeans. Soon you'll need to do a little shopping!
Lindy87 :welcome:
Gale -- You must be on the edge of your seat. Do you have things all packed and ready to go if you are evacuated?
Mandy -- Sorry to hear about your foot and the prognosis. Your shopping trip sounds like a huge success! Thanks for the pretty pictures :)
Ona -- :hug: :wave: Can't wait to see that 184.something!
Rennie -- I'm not sure of the brand of seat I bought, but it just slipped over a regular seat and I think I wouldn't have paid more than $15 for it. Good job turning down the pizza!
As for me, I ate more calories today, in my target zone, drank a ton of water and I hope that will help to move me a bit lower again. I am starting vacation after I finish work tomorrow, and while I plan to indulge here and there, I also plan to stay active and within my net calorie range.
