http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c15/rockstarkate/body-123pounds.jpg

120+ pounds lost
size 22/24 to size 8/10
Couldn't walk up the stairs without dying to walking up 100 flights in 19 minutes and THEN running 5 miles.

It took 2.5 years
Calorie counting nearly every day
Hitting the gym 5-6 times per week
And changing every single thing about the way I look at food, exercise, and my body image.

You can see the change on the outside in the picture above, but the changes on the inside are so much more important.
I used to be cynical, depressed, tired, lethargic, moody, cranky, etc.:?::mad:
Now I'm energetic, optimistic, generally happy, and I wake up before my alarm clock daily feeling ready to go! :carrot:

It was SO worth it :D

If I can do it, anybody can.

Thanks everyone :). I used a different site for calorie counting and support (fatsecret) but I found this forum looking for a site with a weight maintenance section. Thought I'd share my pictures because I was always so inspired by the pictures of other real people who had done it in the beginning.

I love shopping!!! My favorite new hobby (aside from exercise of course!)

Glad you like my blog!

Thanks again,
Kate

I am so glad I saw this post! You are such a great example of why fitness is so important, not just the number on the scale... I looked at your blog (which is very insightful by the way; I just read the first few but now I want to read more) and saw your measurements - 37-28-37 . Your story is truly inspiring!

What you say about fitness is so true. One of the biggest obstacles for me weight-wise is that my ideal weight is a lot higher than you'd suspect. People always guess that I weigh a lot less than I do. I'm very muscular for a woman. And so for most of my life, even when I was close to a good weight, I thought I was enormous. If I did keep trying to weigh less, I'd never be satisfied and I would probably do a lot of damage to my health. I think the lowest weight I could possibly be and be healthy is somewhere around 150. But I don't need to have that little body fat. I prefer to keep a bit of curve ;)

I do want to point out that at 165, I am still "overweight" according to the BMI chart, but look at my After picture! I'm glad my eyes are working because I'm definitely not overweight. BMI sucks.

Yer right; BMI is inaccurate for muscular people (although it does a good job of categorizing my fat ***). It's OK though; I'll get there too.
