Default Can't believe it!

Hi Everyone,

I just came from my second weigh in, which was only 5 days after the last one because I changed my day. I am astounded! In only 5 days, I lost 2.25 inches, 3.8 lbs of fat, and gained 1.4 lbs of muscle! The total loss was 2.2 lbs but I am ecstatic about the increase in muscle. I was not expecting that at all.

This is the only plan I've ever been on that really delivers on what it promises. It has also really helped to have all of your support and great information. It really does make the hard times worth it, doesn't it?

I hope everyone is having a great week!

Karen

You can exercise, they recommend not straining yourself for the first 3 weeks while your body is getting used to ketosis. Minimal to none the first 3 weeks then you can resume a healthy workout level!

I'm posting because I feel it is important to understand what is really happening and what is not ... but none of it is really relevant. What is important is that the inches are down, weight is down, and Karen is off to a great start on her weight loss journey.

WELL DONE KAREN!

Better question would be how can you gain 1.8 lbs of muscle in less than a week while in a large caloric deficit? Exercise or no - this is not possible.

Thus, whatever method Karen's coach is using to measure bodycomposition is obviously not accurate. Most likely it is a bioimpedance test. Bioimepdence tests are highly inflluenced by hydration. It is possible that 1.8 lbs of water is being retained and the meter reads it as LBM and the coach calls it muscle.

Yah John i was kind of thinking that it couldnt be possible..cause thats a really short time to gain that much muscle and for a women to gain that much muscle would be near impossible without a lot of steroids i would think?

I was told not to exercise for the first 3 weeks for metabolism adjustments. I exercise now, resistance bands. You gain muscle with/without exercise from protein intake that feeds the muscles. RESTRICTED = (so funny)

No. The protein is supposed to help maintain muscle. You don't build muscle without exercise.
