South Beach Diet - Vodka and SBD

I am just wondering about vodka. I love a vodka soda with a lime or lemon. Refreshing summer cocktail, right? So I am thinking there has to be a carb or 5 in a shot.... After looking up multiple nutrition facts, there are none. There are 80 or so cals, not from fat, or carbs? What? Where are the calories coming from then? No sugar? Isn't it a grain alcohol? Is the internet confused? Or is it jsut me?

Here's what I found. It says 64 calories, and you're right, no fat, no carbs, no protein, it's all been converted to alcohol sugar. The south beach good fats good carbs guide I have says you can have it on a limited basis in Phase 2 and 3, but no alcohol at all during phase 1. Hope this helps.

Yes. After Phase 1, enjoy in moderation. I don't think, however, that vodka has shown the same heart benefits as wine.
