We've made it through another holiday weekend, and now it's time to recommit ourselves and get slimmer for summer! All are welcome to join us for this month's weight loss challenge. :)

The rules of this thread are simple. We are here to provide each other some accountability along the path to weight loss. So, you just set your weight loss related goal(s) and it gets added to a goal list. When you reach your goal, it gets turned Red. We have a sister thread for exercise related goals: http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/chicks-up-challenge/234464-june-exercise-challenge.html. All exercise related goals can be posted there. We love to hear about your success as well as your challenges throughout the month. We're here to support and encourage each other to be our best.

desire: If you think it might help, you could always challenge yourself to X number of binge-free days too! I wish you great luck in hitting your ultimate goal this month. :)

Not laughable at all! I've read amazing things about both C25K and 30DS - you're going to ace this month! :cheer:

I'm on the fence again about my goal. I was going to aim for 12 lbs again, but I've been struggling with this same 1.2 lbs for the last week! I really want to break that 200 mark! :tantrum: Oh well, I'm going to go for it - 12 lbs it is. It will be motivation to step up my exercise. And with that, I'm off to the June Exercise thread.

rmc: When I'm retaining water and struggling at the same weight for a number of days, it's often followed by a few really nice whooshes over the next week or so! So you may find yourself of to a great start for June once that water finally finds it's way out. :) Good luck this month, and we'll be here cheering when you hit onderland!

Goal: 170. I'm in the mid-180s now, but my low weight last month was 179 so I don't think it's totally out of the question...

Well, I was going to say I wanted to get out of the 130's, but I had a massive WHOOSH last night and hit 133.6 this morning, so I shall challenge myself a little more and say I'd like to see 125 on the scale by the end of June. 8 pounds would be 2 pounds a week, which is realistic but still a challenge.

So, to sum up:
1. See 125 on the scale by the end of June
2. Drink AT LEAST four - 24 oz Camelbak bottles of water every day.
3. No alcohol!

These sound like great goals for the month! I'll make a goal list and post it this evening.

As for myself, starting weight this morning is 214.7, and my goal for the month will be 8 lbs. I'd normally shoot for a 10 lb loss, but I have a business trip to Croatia for a week toward the end of June, and I have no idea how calorie counting will go there! So I'm giving myself a little bit of leeway this month.

Hope June has started off well for everyone!

Everyone's goals are great! I'm excited about this month. :)

Last night, my body confirmed that the restrict/binge cycle really exists... after having a HUGE craving for fat I ate 4 oz of cheese!! So I'm going to have to take a look at my calories, something that I wasn't really doing, and make sure I'm eating enough of all types of food. I actually don't even think that 480 calories worth of cheese even put me near my calorie limit.

Despite that little slip up and need to reevaluate, I weighed in this morning at 132.4, which was a bit of a surprise. I am thinking it is still a side effect of drinking all this water, but any loss makes me happy. :)

How's everyone doing this fine, HOT day?

Looks like there are some really good goals out there!

My June goal is a tiny but it's been two months of not making my goal so I need to take baby steps & heal my bruised ego;)

June Goal to get to 198lbs & finally make it to onederland:carrot: It's only a 2.5 pound loss but I've had a slow couple months maybe June will be my month to get back on track!

Hey... I would like to join in if it's not too late. My weight as of May 30th, which was the last time I weighed was 210, I would like to get to 195 by the end of the month. It seems like alot but in reality it's doable. I started my weight loss journey at almost 270 a year and a half ago. I had gotten down to 193 in late March, early April but then life interrupted so Monday was a new day 1 for me :carrot:

Woohoo! Finally cracked that #200 mark. Of course, that pesky 1.2 lbs may be back, but I feel good and know I'm headed in the right direction!

Weekend of work, work, work planned - both "real" work and house work - so it shouldl be easy to stay the course. Have a great weekend everyone!

131.6 this morning. Can't wait to get out of the 130's, hopefully sometime next week!

I've kept my goal for water really well. In fact, since I started getting used to drinking that much, I get thirsty if I drink less than 96 oz a day and sometimes if I do drink that much. And I haven't had any desire for alcohol. Celebrating my 21st birthday for 5 weeks straight was fun, but it did a world of harm to my weight loss goals. Haha

Congrats to everyone who's lost or just kept goals this week! We're going to be a bunch of awesome ladies by July!

bama girl: Someone else approaching a new decade - always fun! And nice job on the water. On days when I'm busy I find it tough to get all mine in, but I always feel better when I do. :)



Nutty weekend... my car was broken into sometime overnight last night, and today all I've done is deal with that and spend 13 hours straight working on a presentation for work/an upcoming conference. I kept my calories low, but no exercise today, blah. And tomorrow I'll be at work all day, trying to arrange a rental car, and then a social event all evening that I'd previously committed to. I need some time for exercise, and sleep!! Tuesday, I just keep repeating that to myself, I'll have some time on Tuesday...

Weighed in this morning instead of sautrday because we got up early for my sons baseball practise...I am up a couple pounds but it's got to be water weight, sodium or something I've been OP for everything this week/weekend so I'm sure it isn't a real gain. I spent a lot of time outdoors this weekend in the sun I'm feeling a bit dehydrated & a tiny bit burnt so lots & lots of water & I'll check back tomorrow:D

This week is starting off well. My husband's back and tonight we head down to the Bay Area for a week, topping it off with a visit to Crater Lake, which I've been dying to see for years. My posting will likely be lighter during the week, therefore, but I'll still try to poke my head in.

This week's weigh-in for me was 154lbs -- moving in the right direction, but I'll need to really step it up if I'm to reach my goal of 145lbs.

I was at home visiting my parents and my dad served me the biggest piece of pie you've ever seen in your life. I did only eat half, but I feel like I'm working hard on one hand and undoing my good work just as fast on the other.

Hopefully I'll make up the difference this week.

My goals for June are to manage a diet of high vegetable intake. Eating my biggest meal at lunch and taking in a smaller meal around 6 pm. And losing 10lbs this month. I am currently at 299, by the end of june I want to me 289:dust:

Whatever day works for you, but you should probably try and keep it constistent :D I do Friday or Saturday morning just in case I splurge on the weeekend :lol:

onestar: I go through periods where the scale jumps up too. For me, it's usually water retention. I'm sorry - I know it can be really frustrating! You'll be back down soon though. :hug:

wife2abadge: You can do anything you'd like! I sometimes post my weights and sometimes don't, it just depends how I'm feeling. :)


All, please forgive me if I'm less chatty than usual the next few weeks. Things have gotten very stressful at work, and it feels like there are a million things going on. I'm definitely staying on track food wise, but finding it difficult to summon energy at night to devote to posting with the cheeriness I'd like to. I'll keep trying, but the next three weeks I might not get here as often as I'd like. I'll do my best though.

30 Day Shred (http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=30+day+shred&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=13957019723249466887&sa=X&ei=UGzvTefJD8ji0QHTvLX2DA&ved=0CDcQ8wIwAQ) is an exercise program from Jillian Michaels. It's pretty intense, but many folks have done really well with it.

C25K (Couch to 5K (http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml)) is a training program that, as the name suggests, turns you from a couch potato into a runner. Also pretty successful.

Been a busy few days, but I'm doing pretty well in spite of that. Down to 198.4 this morning! WooHoo! I am VERY tired this morning, but I'm going to the gym anyway. Probably won't be my best workout, but it will be a workout none-the-less.

Hey Ladies I am happy to report the mystery 2 pounds I was up are now gone!! Back to got in a bit of cardio everytday and tried to drink as much water as possible. Hope my Friday/Saturday weigh in is down too:D

well i'm back up to 179.8 for my friday weigh in but im still proud of myself because i've been making good food choices and drinking more water. didnt exercise wednesday or thursday. my ex broke up with me on wednesday night so it might take a few days to get back into it. plan on doing it tonight.

onestar - I am really sorry to hear about the breakup. :hug: Good for you for staying on track with your food despite it all... it can be really empowering to take control of our weight and continue to make that positive change for ourselves.

rmc - I am cheering for you to hit that milestone!


I've been feeling a little crummy the past few weeks, and the scale has been up and down and all over the place... and it seems that has been due to the fact that I'm pregnant. :) We've been trying for nearly a year and a half without success, and so I could NOT believe it when I saw the positive result this weekend, lol. I took 2 more tests on Saturday and another one yesterday just to be sure, lol, and all positive! It hasn't really sunk in yet, but maybe it will feel more real after I see the doctor. Anyway, my new goal for June and several months thereafter is going to be to just maintain my weight; I was at 215 last Sunday, which should have been 4 weeks, and so will use that as my weight to stay at or below. I'd love to not gain any over the next 8 months, but I can already sense that's going to be a struggle... my body is doing what it wants/needs right now, regardless of what I'm eating, and I'm guessing that will continue for a while. :)

Well it's TOM time for me loverly:p I was so exhausted yetserday I went to bed at 8:30pm so sad haha I'm going to hold off on a weigh in until it's super safe next week don't want to see any high numbers on the scale! it's been so long since I have have seen a number starting with a 1 can't go back :lol:

I'm down 6 pounds this week. Must have really pushed myself this week with the exercise, given that I've been eating more carbs then usual (including cheetos...:o ), but I've kept my calories in check.

Sorry, all, that I haven't been around. I miscarried last week and had a D&C on Friday, and just haven't felt up to being here. I'm still not in great shape physically or emotionally, but I will try to be here more frequently through the rest of the month.

Sorry I havent been "in" to say hi yet. It's been a mostly successful month despite a hiccup this weekend causing a bad WI this morning. Trying again tomorrow but I think I'm a little over halfway to my goal. I think I'll make it, but I need to really buckle down to do it.

Hi Chicklets, I fell off the site for a couple months, and it's proven to be a little too dangerous, so I'm back, and recommitted to lose my last 10 (now maybe 15) pounds to get to my goal, since I never quite reached it. I think I will give myself a goal for the remainder of June to continue tracking my cals and exercise, because that really helps me stay accountable. I also intend to check in regularly, because you all are so inspiring.

Chickadee, don't bother to add me to the list, I'll just be a lurker for the remainder of the month, and cheer the rest of you on. I'm so sorry to hear about your miscarriage, and hope that focusing on your weight loss might be just the thing to help you feel in control.

Nice to see all the familiar faces as well as the new ones. Here's to slimming down for the hot summer weather!

Well, shoot. I'm not sure I'll make the "lose 10 pounds" goal I set. I'm still trying of course, but I've been doing so well on my food plan, I really thought losing 10 pounds would be easy enough. I have had a few slipups, and I'll see if the scale is down more tomorrow from this weekend, but they haven't been huge slipups, I've logged pretty much every single thing, and there was nothing that was disastrous.

I'm going to try to be motivated to bust my butt and lose all 10 pounds by the end of the month. But with 9 days left and 5-6 pounds to go, I just don't know! Aghhhh!!

Ferumbras, 6 pounds!!! Who knew cheetos were the answer?! Ok, maybe not the cheetos, maybe it's the C25K and 30DS. Congrats!

Started the month at 201.2 and I clocked in at 192.6 today, so 3.4 lbs to go to make June goal. I know it's going to get tougher as the weight drops. Reading about all of your successes is definitely motivating, so thank you all for that!

I've been back up to 166 the past three days, meaning I've four pounds to lose by the 30th if I want to make goal. Not sure that'll happen -- I've a feeling I've hit a plateau. But, I'm going to keep doing what I do and hopefully something'll shake loose.

Thank you for the kind words, ladies. :hug: I really do appreciate it. I've been struggling physically and emotionally to feel good, and I'm just really hoping that soon I'll start feeling more like my usual self. The good news is that I've been tracking my intake and sticking within my calorie limits, and the scale is back down to about where I was when I found out about the pregnancy - so I still have a small (2.4 lb) loss for this month so far. After today's weigh-in, I'm even thinking that it might still be possible to get to my 4th of July goal, though that will be dependant on getting the ok from my Dr. this week to start exercising again. Still, it's something to work toward and look forward to, which I need right now. And then, it's really going to be ON for July, as I'm still determined to get to onderland by my birthday at the end of the month. :)

Louisa: Great to see you again! Do keep checking in, and then jump right into the fray for July. We look forward to supporting you through those last 10-15 lbs!

PacSunMama: Keep going and fighting through the end of the month!! However close you get to goal, you'll still start July ahead of where you started June, and that is definitely an accomplishment. :)

susie: You're doing great; keep at it! Getting back on track and staying there is HUGE. A lot can happen in these last 5 days!

rmc: What a huge loss you've already had this month - way to go!!!

Ferumbras: You said you've been "back up"; is it possible you're just holding on to some water weight due to TOM or something else? Either way, you've been doing great, so just keep working at it... if it is water weight, it will whoosh off at some point, and then you'll have one of those really happy scale days. :)

NightAngel: Checking in is a good way to get back on track. Make these next 5 days ones you can look back on and say that you really pushed yourself - and then you can start off July lower than you are today. :)

carved: I know 0.5 lbs is slower than you'd like, but you're still down this week. :D 198 is just around the corner... :)

I am a procrastinator and I do work well under pressure. Wonder if my body does too? ;)

I went to a wickedly indulgent food/drink event last night, as well as a daytime party with good food, and still was down .4 pounds to 150.2, so I'm very happy, and hoping that my hangover won't require too much greasy food today... Have a good week everyone.

Okay, bummy. I ate well yesterday, but the decadence of the night before came back to bite me in the gut (that's where my fat lives). This morning I was up 1.4 pounds. But I exercised like a banshee this morning and I'm praying that a birthday celebration tonight doesn't lead me astray...

Worked out like crazy the last few days and I've been really watching what I eat the last few weeks with a few minor blips haha I wish I hadn't fell off the wagon last night on the bright side I managed to only nibble on everything so not too many extra calories added but still not cool oh well:)

YES! Baby went through a growth spurt and I hope so badly my scale isn't wrong (I weighed 3 times because I was stunned) and I'm down to 205.4! That means I just whooshed in right past my goal! YAY!

I am happy to announce I am down another .5lb today:D Putting me .5lb away from being in the overweight and out of the obese BMI range whoo!

Pacsunmama congrats! I read your blog quickly have you cut back your calories yet? I can remember breast feeding and trying to lose weight it seems like a hundred years ago :lol: If your going to cut back calories a bit I would still snack a little in the evening if your still doing night time feedings. Whatever your doing seems to be working:)

Well last check in for June!! Going away for the weekend I'm going to do some hill walking with my mom I'm hoping that will counter act the beer I'm going to drink no junk food though I've already decided that...lets see if I can stick with it!
Not completly sure how much I've lost for the month I think it's 3.5pounds not a whole lot but it's all been within the last 1.5 weeks so I'm happy with that...who knew you eat well and exercise and you loose weight?:lol:

Finished the month at 197lbs:D

Will do a weigh in and take my measurements on Monday after we get back for July start weight. Looking forward to kicking butt next week while I'm on holidays too:)

ARGH! Maybe it was a stupid fluke... I weighed myself several times and it said 205.4 each time. But the last two days, despite being at the top of my game and following my plan perfectly, it's back up to around 208. I'll do my "final" June weigh-in tomorrow.

Maybe if I shave my legs tonight it will go back to 205. :?

Ok, so it was a fluke afterall, however my WI today was 206!!!

That makes -10.8 pounds for the month of June, surpassing my goal to lose 10! Yay!! Now, onward to July!
