i started here in march.

i lost 12.1 pounds in the last half of march, all that water.
i lost 12.3 pounds in all of april.
i lost 7.7 pounds in the first 3 weeks of may, and then gained it back on my honeymoon.

i will start back with daily weighing tomorrow and get myself back into the habit. hoping the water weight from the honeymoon will be mostly gone (my rings still don't want to come off) and i really hope i can still claim a small loss for may!

hubby starts his clinical work on monday so he won't be here as much influencing my eating habits before work, and i won't feel so self conscious about weighing myself on the wii fit in front of him. (which is really weird, considering i will workout in front of him AND tell him my weight)...

good luck to everyone in june!

I am in!!!!

I am setting some fitness goals this month. I want to get into a plan of jogging 2-3x a week AND having 1 full hour of Pilates a week. I really, really, REALLY need to get on board with my core. It has been a thorn in my side since this whole journey started and I feel the need to conquer it....or at the very least...start to conquer it.

April 2011 - Lost 2.2 lbs
May 2011 - Lost 10 lbs (ready to show June who's boss!)

My goal for June is to be safely nestled in the 260's - instead of bouncing in and out like May. Areas of focus for me this month: 1) Stay OP over the weekends, 2) Stay OP during TOM, 3) Drink ALL my water EVERY day, and 4) Don't let excuses keep me from the gym. :D My UBER goal would be to make it to my 2nd mini-goal this month. That would mean a loss of 9.4 lbs...I THINK I CAN, I THINK I CAN!

I'm here....not sure what I weigh...I never went crazy before Marathon but I didnt weight either, life was too busy and I was not at all worried about my weight...I was focusing on hydration and proper fueling.

I did weight yesterday 1 day post 26.2 mile run and I was 162 and that was expected water weight gain.....

No weighh in today, I'll start back up tmrw...today I'm on track for calorie counting and ditching a few more pounds, I know now I'm comfortable at my goal weight but I"m thinking of aiming for 149 and toning up too!

I ran my Marathon in very hot heat! I ran for 4:50 minutes each mile paced out at 11:04 per mile considering I walked every water stop after 15 miles and the heat, I did great. I never hit a wall.

I also want to add that I lost 25lbs in Marathon Training since January! It's possible Ladies, set your mind to it and it's totally possible! Thanks for all the support xoxoxo

I'd like to join - I've done daily weighing (on the wii) since I started this journey but this is the first time I've tried daily reporting.

I'll do my first weigh-in this evening - I usually weigh after work, before dinner.

Coondocks Be scared of his new one, really scared! No really, it's a great workout! I didn't think I would like it but I do. The workout is described as cardio, but there's just as much weights in there. The weights also give a cardio effect. I don't have any of his other workouts, but he seems almost psychotic. He likes to torture you. ;) I think it's described as his toughest workout yet. If you see it at the store, and have the extra money, I would buy it. May as well torture yourself.

Oh my goodness! Is anyone else as happy as I am to have a brand new month? May was a wash for me. Lost a whopping 3.6 pounds. I intend to make June a much more productive month. Plus, I'm so close to adding another charm to my weight-loss bracelet. Hmmm....I better start looking around for the next one as I'm sure I'll be ready to buy it soon!

Twinmommaplusone - You rock! I can't wait to come here one day and post that I just ran a marathon.

Welcome to our newbie posters. Everyone - Hope you have had a great on-plan day.

Morning ladies
Had a terrific time at the wedding - it was perfect in every way and everyone looked so happy. Will upload some photos later :)
Did not get the job I went for - I was very disappointed as I thought what they really wanted was a great class teacher - but evidently not :(
Oh well back to the drawing board for me.
Weight wise I am up 0.8 but feel it is probably water and sodium related as I was very careful all weekend- I've also been travelling for 9 hours, so we shall see what the next week brings. I have also decided to lower my goal weight to 147, but won't do that until I reach my original goal- still fighting those last 2 lbs !

Hello, chickies!! I'm back! I took a month off — really, really off — and need to get serious again. I moved to a new city and am having an amazing time, but I've also been doing a ton of eating out and eating junk at home.

I meant to stay on my diet, but when I got here after a week of hellish final exams and traveling, I was afraid to weigh myself, and then I figured I should hold off weighing until after my cousin's wedding, which I was a bridesmaid in (and it was so much fun!). That turned into "Oh well, I've done all I can, I'm just going to eat whatever I want," which has basically summed up to a month of Mexican food, pizza, ice cream, pastries, sugary coffee drinks, etc. in alarming quantities.

I finally mustered up the courage to get on the scale tonight, and with a T-shirt on and food/drink in my stomach, I'm up 8 pounds from April 20th. I was bracing myself to see the 27_ again, so I'm actually pretty relieved.

The good news is that I've been a lot more active since moving here — dog walking, bike riding, even a few hikes! So I'm sure that's why I didn't gain as much as I should have eating the way I did. For the first time in a long time, I actually feel happy, and it makes me want to lose weight so I can enjoy my life. That's a brand new idea for me because for as long as I can remember, the thought of losing weight has always been an escape — like misery was a punishment for being fat and I couldn't be happy until I lost the weight. That always made it seem so daunting because the mindset was "It will take me at least a year and a half to lose this weight so I can't be happy for at least a year and a half." But now I feel like I can still have fun and have a life but just enjoy it more as I lose the weight. And it's a really good feeling.

Anyway, sorry for the long post. I hope everyone has been doing great the last month! Here's to a healthy summer.

June goal: 248

June 1: 220.6 (down 1.4 from yesterday's 222)

I'm going to reach my next mini-goal early! I had it set for 220lbs by July 17, but I think I'll be there in the next few days. I wonder if I can reach Onederland by then? I'm going to give it a try!

I ordered a few workout DVDs, including the 30 Day Shred (doing that as a challenge here at 3FC), and I also started the Couch to 5K program last night with my oldest son (13). I've always admired people who can run, and now I'm going to make myself one of them. Dh is a runner; he doesn't know that I've started the C25K, and this is going to be a surprise for him. I want to do a local 5k on Thanksgiving morning, so this gives me plenty of time, I hope, to be able to get it done.

Here's to a successful weight-loss month of JUNE. Tear it up, ladies!!!

Diana -- Good job on your .8 Are you eating lower calories now, or still aiming for around 1400? I've taken a couple of low days too to try to speed up the post vacation losses.

Morning ladies. Posting from my BB today because I stupidly slept in on a day when we're hosting my boss' boss from New York. Not late or anything, but definitely had wanted to get in early. In my mad rush to catch the train, I forgot to weigh in, so I have no idea how I'm starting the month! In any case, TOM is gone, I think, I hope... And yesterday was extremely hot over here, so I ended up drinking an extra litre of water than I normally do plus a heck of a lotta lemonade as well (homemade, not the processed kind). I'm going to WI tonight just to see, but I hate not weighing in first thing in the morning, so I don't think I'll count it! Have a great day everyone.

Angie I am planning to stick with my 1440 + morning coffee for right now. Saturday is always a planned higher calorie day. I used to have a lower calorie day on Sunday to make up for the higher calorie day on Saturday. I am going to stop with the lower calories on Sunday and just keep it in my normal range. I'm thinking I am going to have to up my calories a little or lower my workouts. I dropped down to 143.8 before I went out of town. I want to keep my range at 145-150. I think I'm getting ready to start TTOM within the next week. I will see how it goes. I don't want to up my calories and then TTOM starts and then end up over my range. I will analyze after everything settles.

ETA: I also wanted to do a little lower calories because while out of town I ate more carbs, sugar, and calories than I am used to. I wanted to get that out of my system ASAP. I have consumed higher carbs/sugars at times and ended up with terrible cravings. I wanted to nip that in the bud before it caused a problem.

Bye Bye water weight! I am down 3.2 to 173.8, that makes 4.6 for May. Last month did not make me proud. I had 8 days that I did no exercise, 6 days that I was off plan in the food area, and 2 days that while I was technically on plan I know darn well I could have done better. June will be better! It is starting off well since the meeting with the social worker seemed to go well last night plus I thought I was going to have to skip the gym today for jury duty, but it got cancelled :woohoo: Who would have ever thought I would be so happy to be able to go to the gym!

Twinmomma - Congrats on the marathon going so well.

Diana - Now you've got me wanting to go get a Bob DVD.

GirlyGirl - I am soooo with you on being glad for a new month.

starbrite - I'm glad the wedding went well and sorry about the job. There is probably a better one around the corner for you.

Bloesom - Some people update the list in the same post and only make new posts for chatting (we're a chatty bunch), some people post the list or part of it each day, I don't even make a list at all because I know I will forget to update it anyhow. Whatever works for you.

Paradise - Congrats on catching yourself now, it could have gone longer and been much more than 8 pounds. Welcome back.

I hope everyone has an awesome Wednesday.

173.6 seriously? Come on now . . . well June is an A$$ kicking month, funk the 170's and high 160's, I don't want them anymore. I've declared shanaingans!!!
But . . . . my butt does feel a little sore from the hike on the treadmill, so that's a good thing.

Diana - Bob is evil, he may look innocent, speaking in that soothing tone then BAM . . . 15 minutes you realize he's evil. Gotta love him for it. I'll def be checking out the new workout, his other 3 all have great things about them. On his first cardio, the 30 minute routine is all about legs and bum, it will literally kick you in the arse . . . . highly recomend any of them. And the yoga Abs . . . THAT is torture!!

Angie - Good for you jumping on that treadmill! Keep at it, I've been guilty of ignoring mine for too long and am vowing that I will get in at least 4 45 minute 'hikes' a week, are you with me?

Kukkie - silly question, how do you make your lemonade?

Fit Girly - Bye Bye water weight indeed! Nice drop lady!! I love how excited you get about going to the gym, i'm going to borrow some of that inspiration from you for the next coupel of weeks to get back into a solid routine :)

Twinmomma - Sorry if I missed it but what is your training schedule like for a marathon and have you always been a runner? Im wondering what I can do after I finihs C25K to extend my endurance more.

Star - Glad the wedding went well, so sorry about the job  The right one will come along for you :) :)

Hello to all the new and returning, will BBL to catch up.

Lets go June!!!

p.s. - I'm just a tad excited, we got the official announcement that NHL is coming back to Winnipeg in 2011-2012 season WHOO HOO!!

I'm sick today and ate my body weight in chocolate last night. I am not counting on a good WI this morning. BBL to update.

FitGirly - I know what you mean about being on plan technically but knowing you could do better. I had quite a few days like that last month. Here's to a new month!

Diana - Good job getting those carb/sugar cravings out the door immediately! That's always my downfall... once I start it's REALLY hard to stop.

Starbrite - So sorry you didn't get the job. :( There's something out there for you and I'm sure it'll be just perfect when the time comes!

Rhonda - I'm SO with you on being glad it's a new month. Last month was tough for me and I posted a whopping 1.6 lb loss. Here's to June and lots of downward movement.

Good morning, Friends. I had an overnight drop of 1.2. Starting my June off on the right foot!

Angie - What did you think of the season finale of Biggest Loser? I loved this season because I could really relate to the finalists.
Starbrite - Sorry to hear that you didn't get the job. I hope something better comes along for you soon.
Paradise - Welcome back! Sounds like you are enjoying your new life.
Beck - I used to be a runner about 20 years ago. One day, I hope to run again. I hope you love the C25K program!
Kukkie - It is crazy hot here, too. I'm hoping that I experience what others have experienced...being cold when they lose a lot. Remind me of this when winter comes along.
Diana - How exciting to have to decide whether to eat more or exercise less! :D
Roxy - So glad to hear that the visit with the social worker went well. Do they have any idea how close you are now to bringing some children in?

Yesterday, I finally bit the bullet and posted for a different position within my company. I'm not a person who likes change, so this is kinda big for me. But, I think it's really time to make a big change. I am getting kinda stagnant and not seeing much future in my current position. Either way, the interview process can be a good learning experience for me.

Have a great on-plan day!

Low 160's or 150's, either is acceptable to me this month :)

Diana -- I agree, I did not take an extra day post vacation, I got right back on plan. That was my mistake after we went to Disney...I let vacation mode carry on far too long.

Roxy -- Good job on your loss for May! I'm so happy for you to hear that the social worker visit went well. Enjoy your time at the gym today. You mentioned before that your DH would be deployed soon, do you know when? How does that influence your adoption process?

Coondocks -- I set my treadmill goal for the month...so I'm aiming for 40km this month. 3 x 45 min for me would be about 13.5 km, so yes, I will aim for that this week right along with you! I got in 1.65 this morning after I dropped Cam at school, I just went for a quick walk before heading home (work at home day). I'll probably do another 2k tonight as well. I heard about the new NHL team, congratulations! Do you know what they will be called?

Gale -- Hope you feel better soon.

I forgot to correct something in my post yesterday. He's not psychotic, it's more like sadistic. Yes, I've heard that soothing tone of voice and then that evil little sadistic laugh he has. Torture, indeed! Which cardio workout are you talking about? Is it on this link? http://www.collagevideo.com/searchresults.aspx?type=instructor&search=Bob%20Harper&setup=yes

Sadistic is right!
The one I have is the Cardio Rev, its on that link . . . . the short owrk out on there, my Lord I felt that for a few days, but while I was doing it I didn't think it was too bad . . . . go figure.
I didn't even know he had Kettlebell dvds, I'm going to have to check those ones out too, have you tried those ones at all?

Love - I hate that jumping around, its so freaking irritating!! you'll meet your goal, Im sure of it, June is the month to get'er done!

Angie - we have no word on a name, but there was an announcement that the new owners can use the "JETS" and the logo if they want. Its a toss up, bring out the nostalgia or start fresh, the city is torn.
Good on ya for getting in the treadmill this morning and plannign on it tonight, awesome!! I've been logging 2.4 miles walking Jack to daycare and back so the added inclines are what I"m going for in the evening, working on the legs and derrier!!

April 2011 - Lost 2.2 lbs
May 2011 - Lost 10 lbs (ready to show June who's boss!)

May 31: 272.6
1: 271.1 (-1.5) TOTAL LOST -1.5

Seven -- Good luck!

Vixsin -- LOVE the fitness goals. WTG!!

Beck -- After what you've accomplished in April and May, I have no doubt you're going to meet or exceed your June goal too - you've got a great start already! Congrats on starting the C25K. What a wonderful surprise that will be for the DH! Good luck! Are you planning to do the Run to Feed the Hungry?

ArcticMama -- Good luck getting to your goal this month. YOU CAN DO IT!

Charliee -- I hope you enjoy daily weighing. I am officially IN LOVE with it! Good luck this month!

TwinMomma -- Congratulations on finishing your first marathon!! Good luck this month and thanks for the inspiration!

Jen -- Welcome!! Happy to see you over here. You should recognize a few us. ;)

Ashley -- Welcome!! Wish you the best this month!

Gale -- I am SO with you! I always see my up ticks during the weekends and TOM. Being more consistent during those two times is a focus for me this month! Come on girl! You GOT this!!

Vero -- Welcome and good luck!

FlipFlop -- You CAN do it!

thaisccs -- Way to jump in!

Rhonda -- A 3.6 lb loss is NOT a wash! Shamey, shamey my two year old would say. You struggled and came out ahead. GREAT JOB! Good luck on the job you're applying for! Way to start June off on the right foot!!

envelope -- Welcome and good luck this month!

Angie -- GREAT JOB getting on that treadmill! You're off to a running start this month!

Karen -- Way to step up for the challenge. Good luck!!

Starbrite -- So sorry to hear about the job. That is a really bummer! I always retain water when I travel - especially for that long - so I'm sure you'll see that number come back down.

Kukkie -- What a hectic start to the month! Good luck with you WI tonight!

Roxy -- WOO HOO! Excellent news! Yay for Jury Duty being cancelled!!

I forgot to post my weigh in for this morning...I was down .6 to 212.6 -- so I guess I am truly back to the true weight and will take the rest off ounce by ounce. Gee those whooshes were nice while they lasted!

Rhonda -- I loved the participants on TBL this season...and especially the finalists, well except for Jay -- I was never a big fan of his. I'm sorry to see Jillian leave the show, sometimes she's over the top, but I like her direct, no BS approach.

Reptogirl - That can be frustrating, feel free to share your menus for a few days if you want some ideas or feedback on what you could change up to see some movement.

Jamisue -- I'm so proud to you for your awesome personals! Good job on your loss for May, and 1.5 is a nice start to this month!

I will have to look at the video clip of Cardio Rev. I haven't done any of his other workouts, just the Ultimate Cardio one. I heard that he is suppose to be coming out with a couple more workouts this year. I am going to be on the look out for them.

Coondocks - I found things to do at the gym that I truly enjoy. I refuse to do things I hate (I do occasionally do some that I can tolerate, but don't hate or love). That is how I manage to want to go to the gym.

Diana - Thanks for posting those links, that looks awesome. What is up with Bob's socks though? LOL

GirlyGirl - We were told last night that from here it should take 60-80 days before our home is "open". Good luck with your inteview.

Angie - We have an idea of when he will leave, but it could change again (he was supposed to go last month). He will be here for at least as long as the homestudy part takes, so I'm hoping it will have no effect. A few of the social workers in this area are military spouses or spouses of retired military, so that should help since they understand.

Gale - LOL @ thinking ahead with the chocolate.

Mandy -- Congrats on getting back OP so quickly! You are AMAZING!

Rennie -- Thanks! I got a glimpse of what I'm capable of last month when my monthly loss approached 15lbs! I'm bound and determined to be more consistent this month to maximize my loss!

Jami I definitely need your drive this go around :) My weight loss has slowed down a lot but I also haven't been giving it my all. I did today pass up or should I say ignored my brain when I wanted to chow down on the frosted flakes (straight from the box). They have been my weakness here lately. Instead I had a cup of grapes. So off to a good start so far. :)

Mandy -- Good job on the 2lbs today and on a great month of May!

Roxy -- That's good that you are working with people who can empathize with military life. How long will he be gone once he is deployed?

Rennie -- Thanks! I hope I am treated to a few whooshes this month. It's been ages since I lost a lot of weight in a month. Good job on choosing grapes over frosted flakes!

Jami -- I love that phrase, so I look for excuses to use it! I try to do personals, because I want to encourage all our regular members, and I think they help new people feel included and a part of the group -- but I'm not always able to cover everyone; I thought you did a great job of it today.

So I did get another 1k in tonight in a walk to the park with Cam...that's 2.65 for today. My mom has chips in the house and I am desperately trying to pretend they are not here...they are not even a flavour I like and I'm still tempted!

Great job on the walk. Something funny about me. The small bags of chips don't bother me. I could literally have 100 small bags and not be tempted. I cannot have an opened large bag of chips in the house, though. They will totally make me nuts!

Very down today - all tumbling down around my ears - up 1.7 :( No reason. Need to understand why so that I can sort it out- now 4lbs away from the goal I originally set- I should be going the other way. Feel mad now about the job - they took somebody from a skype interview in Australia rather than someone who has a proven track record and lives round the corner. I can't fathom why. Also got post wedding blues- it was a serious something to look forward to and to aim for . I'm sorry to be negative but my emotions are all over the place today :(

starbrite - sorry to hear you are having a rough day, sometimes stress makes our body hold onto water weight, so I wouldn't worry too much about the slight gain - unless you aren't eating/exercising. Hang in there.. with all the downs in life, there are lots of up's to make it better :)

Blondie - Great WI this morning :)

Diana - I hated it because I was so out of shape, I've spent the majority of my life in shape, it's weird to have to work at it! How are you enjoying maintenance so far?

Aimee It will take a little time to build your stamina back up. About maintenance, I haven't really changed anything yet. We went out of town, so I was preparing for that. It's scary to make changes. I know how to lose weight, but I don't know exactly what to do to maintain. I will just work at things, little by little.

174.6 . . What . . . the . . . ****?
I don't think my body got the message that I am LOOSING weight this month, not gaining.
I don't get it. And I know it's a mental block. I've been getting in at least 3 miles of extra walking a day, I've been good with my water, I've been doing the hiking on my treadmill and I can feel it in my backside, I've been keeping within 1300-1400 calories.
So why is it not coming off?? Looking for a fight it is, I'm throwing down . . . screw that.

Aimee - I'll give credit to anyone that gets through 30 DS, I still don't think i'd make it through.

Star - Im sorry you had a crappy wi too, don't let it get to you, there just is no reason for it sometimes. Throw down with those pounds, you can do it!!

Angie - you are a walking machine!! Good for you! I may have been a little overly zealous with my hike last night thinking I could do level 8 and not feel it the next day . . . oh how I was mistaken, but at least I know I worked it out :) :) So awesome you take Cam with you, I really enjoy my walks with Jack . . . and he likes putting his cars on the treadmill ha ha!

Love - Good on ya!! Who needs frosted flakes anyway :)Get'er done!

Diana - Im the same way with chips, that's the only time I want them, when it's a bad already opened . . . . evil things, doesnt matter what flavour they are, I'll want them. So weird.

I'll be back later to say hi to everyone else! Have a great one ladies!!

Hi Everyone.

Sorry I missed you yesterday. I was very busy at work and then the apocalypse hit last night and the last thing I was thinking about was getting online. LOL

I live in Springfield, MA. One of the towns that got hit yesterday with a tornado. We actually got hit twice. I and all of my family are fine. The first one hit about 5 miles from me and the second one hit roughly 3 or so miles from me. We made the history books yesterday. Never in my 39 years of existence has there ever been a tornado touchdown here in Ma.

A friend of mine and her family lost their house. 2 trees fell on it. They were all in the basement, thank god. They are insured and have a great support system, so I am 100% sure that they will be ok. Please send prayers for the people affected by this from my job. I work for a company that is a nursing home alternative. Essentially, we pay you to stay home and take care of your aging or disabled parent, etc. There is a meeting today and we already have 1 report of 1 of our clients that has lost their house. Please send positive vibes our way, these families cannot afford losses like this.

I woke up very thankful this morning. Anywho, just wanted you all to know that we're ok. :)

In other news......I have finally reached 60 lbs lost and have crossed over into the 180's!!!!! Down 1.2 from yesterday to 189.4!!!! :woohoo: Also, I had a massive NSV over the weekend. I was able to fit into a pair of XL pants that I bought at a store a few months ago. That means, when I go into this store, I am now able to buy clothes off the rack and they are NOT plus size anymore!!!!!!!!! :cloud9: :cloud9:

Coon: I think you may need some more calories, my love. I know it sounds nuts, but it might be worth a second look. I say that because I've heard a bunch of stuff from Jillian Michaels that sounds like it may apply here. She is 5'2-ish and eats 1400ish a day. It sounds to me that your body doesn't want to lose the last few so you will need to trick it into doing so. Which means you eat a couple hundred more calories so that your body feels that you are fueling it enough and then you get your deficit ONLY through exercise. Essentially, tricking it into letting go of some weight because it feels that you've fed it enough. Just thinking of ya and tryin to help. You're my girl. I always get motivation from your posts.

Envelope: There are many numbers that have enjoyed giving me a run for my money. 195 was one of them. Stay strong. The scale will move.

wow, you ladies were super posters yesterday. I didn't get around to weighing last night, but I weighed in this morning at 202.8, ugh. Gain! Probably from the team lunch hosting my boss' boss from New York. We went to the TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival) Lightbox restaurant called Luma. There were only a few vegetarian options and most of those had some sort of pine nut/pesto concoction in them, which I'm allergic to, so I ended up having some gnocchi in the appetizer, not entree size and even then didn't finish the whole thing so I could maintain some semblance of portioning. I guess it didn't work! Oh well, water water water this morning. I do have to say though that I weighed this morning after coffee and getting dressed, before a BM, sooo hoping that accounts for some of it. I'm really sick of bouncing around the skirts of Onederland again. Need to stay on plan for goodness sakes and somehow get back into working out. I like working out and the way it makes me feel, it's the getting started that kills me. Sorry, having a little pity party for myself. Need to shake something up to get motivated again.

Vix I am so grateful to hear you're okay! I'll definitely keep those affected in my thoughts and prayers

Not much time..another match at the French Open about to start but..

Vixsin, glad you and family are ok :hug:great NSV :cp: great job getting to the 180 :cp:

Coon, what vixsin said is so true.I found that i needed to eat more to lose but I weigh more than you so... then again could be you need to lower them...something you just have to play with and see what range will work for you.
Then i found out i wasn't eating enough Carbs and that really worked.I'm sure You'll figure it all out:hug: forever a learning experience :dizzy:Then again, you could be just retaining water.
Never-the-less,Hold on to the fact that you KNOW you're eating right/exercising and your mind is in the game...with that the weight HAS to come off eventually,It has too..and it will :)

 Angie,Rennie,Diana..all the new poster..welcome back paradise!!

April 2011 - Lost 2.2 lbs
May 2011 - Lost 10 lbs (ready to show June who's boss!)

May 31: 272.6
1: 271.2 (-1.4)
2: 270.1 (-1.1) TOTAL LOST -2.5

So I've done 30 minutes on the ellipitcal machine three days in a row now. I'm LOVING that thing. It's so much less boring than the DREADmill...at least to me and I get a MUCH better, total body workout. Unfortunately, I've ended up with a headache all three mornings too. Maybe I'm not drinking enough water before, during or immediately following the exercise? I'll have to figure that one out because these headaches are killin' me! I'm really digging in this month - no more off-plan bouncing around! Main goal - stay OP during the weekend and don't let TOM rule me this month!

Angie - Thanks and I agree! I LOVE this thread so much, I just want to share that with everyone that joins! I KNOW this thread has been a HUGE factor in my success so far! (And thanks for using my lil' guy's saying. It really does make me smile everytime!) Great job on the walk and that's too funny about the chips! Stay strong!!

Aimee -- Good luck on your WI today!

Blondie -- Awesome WI this morning!!

Starbrite -- You are always such an inspriration to the group, I hope we can return the favor now...when you need us! All of that sucks..plain and simple. My thoughts are with you that the sad feelings will leave you soon and with refreshed confidence and joy!

Coondocks -- Clearly your body did not get the memo! What's up with that?!?! Sounds like you're doing TONS of good stuff. Are you measuring? Any chance you're in a muscle building phase right now?

Vixsin -- I am SO sorry about the destruction in your town and am SO happy to hear that you and yours are safe! Big CONGRATS on the loss this morning and YA FREAKING HOO on fitting the XLs! That's amazing!!!

Kukkie -- S'okay to have a pity party now and again so long as it's a short one. You CAN do this! You WILL get back to ONEderland! Now...get your butt to the gym! ;)

OnaMi -- Enjoy the Open and have a great day!!

GoalGirl -- :welcome3: and good luck this month. You're off to a great start already!

I'm starting off slow. But I had a gréat work-out last night (I love the combination of music and the elliptical), so I'm happy with that.

You guys are superposters! I can't keep up :p

Diana - I like instant rewards, so if I could get stamina back by today, that would be great ;) Can you believe the weight loss portion of this journey is over? you've done it! Congrats :)

Coondocks - Uhm, has your scale been talking to MY scale? I was up this morning as well. But at least it prompted me to get out my calorie counting book. I have to agree with the others, maybe you calories are too low with this extra exercise you are getting from walking Jack to daycare. We got this, soon it'll be so hot we'll only be able to eat watermelon.. and popsicles! 30 Day Shred was HARD last night, omg, and today I am sore, my thighs, back and arms are feeling the most of it. But it's good pain right now!

Vixsin - wow! Sorry to hear about your friend, but glad you are alright!!

Kukkie - 80% of weight loss is diet, so I'd definitely get your focus on that, I know thats where I need my focus. You can do it, I know you can!

Ona - it's impossible to keep up!

Paradise - welcome back!

Gale - congrats on the new low :D

Jami - congrats on your fabulous results so far this month!

Well my scale says I am UP 2.4 pounds, which was a pretty big jolt. I got out my dusty calorie counting book, and started writing everything down again. I think I've been using my stress as an excuse, there... I admitted it. But now it's time to get back at 'er!

Thinking about it I think that's exactly what my problem is. 13-1400 was working well for me, but I didn't take into account that i've added an extra hour or so of walking 4 days a week. I'm going to up it to 15-1600 and see what happens there . . . now to figure out where to put in more food. I never thought that would be a problem ha ha!
Glad your ok with all the weather shanaigans . . . . ours here is looking mighty ridiculous lately.

Kukkie - No worries on the pity party, it happens to everyone. Whats important is that you are making the change for the better and getting back on plan, rock it out!!

Aimee - how long is the shred per workout? I def need to throw something in the mix that will get some muscle tone going. My derriere is sore like no ones business today, but in a good way :)

Ona - as you wisely said, you know what you're doing, you're making the right choices, it'll have no choice but to come off sooner or later :)

Paradise - welcome back!!

Jami - I LOVED the elliptical when I was going to the gym on my lunches, glad you're enjoying it too!!

Matilda -- Way to recognize what's normal for you. GREAT JOB on getting that workout in!

Bulletproof -- Great loss! Way to start out the month!

Bloesem -- That's a nice steady start to the month. I am also a big fan of the elliptical! The time seems to fly!

Blondie -- Yea, it's coming off pretty fast right now. I'm enjoying it while it's there because I KNOW it's going to slow if not stop all together soon enough.

Aimee -- I'm REALLY glad to see you back here again...we missed you! Good job on admitting the error of your ways and digging back in!!

Coondocks -- Me too! You already know how I feel about that darn DREADmill so I was pleasantly surprised to see how quickly the time flies on the elliptical - especially since it's clearly a more thorough workout to boot!

Coondocks - The whole thing is about 30 minutes including the warm up and cool down, it goes pretty fast because of doing intervals. Definitely good for some muscle tone and soreness!

Jami - Aww, thanks :) It's nice to be missed! Stress was a good reason not count what I was eating when I was only eating once a day, or once every second day. But it's time to focus on myself for once..

afternoon ladies!

scale said 269.8 today, down .3 from yesterday, but likely still retaining some water due to the fact that i snacked on sunflower seeds and it's been so hot and humid. i can feel it. my rings won't even spin on my fingers.

tonight is date night with the hubby, because his birthday is tomorrow and i've got to work late :( so i'm keeping food light today and drinking a lot of water. we're going to the cracker barrel then to the movies to see the new pirates movie.

Have fun at your birthday dinner and watching Pirates!

Hey chicks, for those of you who started out around my weight, how many calories did you take in? I reworked my crazy plan a bit since the wedding pressure is off, and I'm thinking I'd like to stick around 1550 calories (net after exercise). Does that seem reasonable, or should I go lower? I was eating about 900 from January til mid April, but I know that's not sustainable, and since my body has adapted back tocrazy calories this past month, I'd like to use the opportunity to get into a healthier range. I would be thrilled with an average of about 1.8-2 pounds a week. Much less than that and I'm afraid I'll go crazy.

Jami, nice to meet you too! I'm glad to be back. These ladies are my only hope of staying on track.

Swim and Coon, thanks! It's nice to see you ladies around :)

Paradise - What really seems to work for me is 1600-1700 range, when I'm consistent with it I lose 1-4 pounds a week depending on my hormonal changes ie.. TOM, evil TOM.

I'm nice and sweaty from day 2 of working out! It was a little better today! Phew! Now to shower and work! We got a sun camera in today, it takes pictures of sun damage (eek!!), and we are doing an event tomorrow to educate everyone on sun care and the use of sunscreen. Should be interesting!!

02 230.6 and I think I am lucky it isn't more. Yesterday I ate not one, but two birthday cupcakes. I have to make 30 cupcakes in a bit for him to take to his wrestling practice, but I don't think it will be an issue since I am still sort of nauseated by the chocolate in last night's cupcakes.

I apparently need to sit here with a notepad while reading through these if I ever have the hope to write personals to everyone. I don't know how you all remember the little details when you get ready to post.

I reworked my crazy plan a bit since the wedding pressure is off, and I'm thinking I'd like to stick around 1550 calories (net after exercise).

I personally try to focus more on my deficit each day and keep that greater than 1,000 - meaning I burn (BMR + exercise) 1,000 more calories per day than I eat. That said, I feel best and lose the most when I eat between 1500-1700 per day - to keep my deficit great than 1,000 - I need to burn between 2500 -2700 minimum...but it's usually more than that.

I'm a net zero today -- no loss, no gain. Remarkable, because I ate the chips. I was well under calories, so that's fine, but I thought the sodium would do me in. Not to mention that if I'm going to eat low calories I should at least make sure they are nutritious ones! Today I walked 2k at lunch and 1k to the park and back with Cameron -- leisurely but still walking!

Diana -- Any chips will do me in, they are my kryptonite, but an open bag is much worse than a closed one. Great job on your 1 pound today!

Aimee -- Good job on the workout! I think the soreness in your muscles is responsible for your gain today...it should whoosh away as the muscle pain leaves. Oh! You did another workout today...you rock!!

Starbrite -- Cheer up my friend! Don't let this week get you down, focus on everything you've accomplished so far. I know it must be frustrating to be gaining at this point, but you know it's going to come off, just like every one of the other 140-odd pounds you've already kissed goodbye.

Coondocks -- I love your new avatar picture, so beautiful! Sorry about the rotten gain today...time to release any limits you have in your mind. You can be whatever you want, nothing is off limits to you, it's yours for the taking! I really enjoy the walking...Cameron always wants to use the treadmill too, he gets his workout in about 2 minutes since that's about the maximum for his attention span :D.

Vixsin -- I'm glad to hear you and Maxwell are okay. Congratulations on your NSV and your great loss today!

Envelope -- Good luck finding your whoosh this month, I'm waiting for mine too!

Kukkie -- Would you like to join me in trying to cover a certain time or distance on your elliptical this month? I'm aiming for over 40km on my treadmill. Sometimes having someone else doing it with you can be the motivation you need to get moving. Once you get moving it becomes it's own motivation.

Ona -- I miss you when there is tennis on TV! :kickcan:

Paradise -- I matched your 0 for today...it is a little anticlimactic, I feel like I'm on hold until tomorrow morning. I think I was eating about 1600-1650 calories in the 260s and with that (and little exercise) I was losing 2lbs per week.

Gale -- Super whoosh! Congratulations!!

Jeri -- Hang in there, it's coming any day now :)

Jami -- Great job on the elliptical! I'm wondering if you need to eat before you go on the machine? Maybe that would help with the headaches? If not it's still great to exercise for at least 10 minutes after you eat. Congrats on your 1.1 loss today!

Bulletproof -- Wow, great job on the 2lbs lost today! Good luck with the 30 day shred tomorrow.

Bloesem -- Congrats on your loss today! .6 is awesome, it's all those smaller losses that add up to the big numbers.

Mandy -- "with the hubby" I love it! Hope you enjoy the movie tonight :D

Erin -- I type my replies in a separate window as I read through the posts...otherwise there is no way I would ever remember everything I want to say. Hope the cupcakes were yummy!

Hi everyone ~ thank you for the encouragement!!
I was wondering about something... (excuse me if this subject has been tackled several times before:o) Is it better to eat breakfast before or after exercise? I have read two different opinions : one tell you eat first to jump start the metabolism. One tells you eat after- it helps burn what you eat.
I have been exercising in the evening but I am trying to break this stall I am in. I am going to wake up earlier and exercise in the morning. It feels so good to move my body- I was thinking it might make me feel better all day and make a difference. What are your thoughts ~ Eat before or after?

Erin - I also have two windows open, one for reading and the other for writing. Works the best :)

Jami - I want to figure out MY net calories! How does one find all those numbers? I probably should know this.. but I realllllly don't!

Angie - great job with all the km's today! I hope I get the whoosh soon, well, soonish, I won't WI now until Sunday. Yeah, I'm either really focused and working out daily, or not working out. I have some bad habits to deal with :)

Diana - What's your favorite Bob workout dvd? I might need to move on from Jillian eventually.

Well I did it! I made it through today with counting calories! I ended my day at 1621 calories. I even ate some veggies,

I also did another big thing at work, I stuck up for myself and the lack of hours I'm getting - I need 30 hours to survive, but I'm getting 25. I talked to the big boss, for like the 10th time, but this time he listened!! Woohoo :D

Hello girls
Thank you so much for the support and encouragement. It's been a bit of a roller coaster lately what with the wedding, the interview, not getting the job, travelling, the sheer outpouring of emotion all weekend at the wedding, travelling back and waking up to the reality that in a month I won't have a job, still being 2 lbs from my original goal and knowing that I want to go lower = one stressed Starbrite !!
I know I have to just pick myself up and dust myself off like usual, but the 1.7 yesterday threw me completely

Good Morning and TGIF!  :yay:

Have a fantastic Friday and weekend!

I mentioned last night in the check in where I post my foods, that at dinner, my green beans were very salty. We eat out a lot and sometimes that happens. I ate them anyways. All 3 orders! I knew I would have at least a 1 pound gain. Guess what? I had a 1 pound gain from eating grilled chicken and green beans! Go figure! At least I expected it and was prepared for it. TTOM is suppose to be starting soon, too. Maybe that has something to do with it.

I wrote a post yesterday, but apparently it never posted since I came to do one this morning and here it sat. Hmph! So here is yesterday's:

No change for me today, still 173.8. I didn't bounce back up, so I'm not complaining.

Angie - He will be gone 5 months or more. They tell you it's 4 months, but then there's a month added on for travel, plus they lie. I have a friend whose hubby is gone now and has been for 6 month and there are no signs of him coming home yet. I'm sorry about your mom bringing chips in, it's hard when there are people in the house who aren't eating the way we eat.

Aimee - the first day back to working out when we have taken time out is always hard. It will get better.

starbrite - I'm sorry you are feeling so down. The scale will sort itself out soon and the right job will come along. We all have these days, I hope yours is better soon.

FitGirlyGirl

As for today:
I'm STILL 173.8. Ok, enough of this! I need some change in the downward direction please and thank you. Today I am putting in the first deposit for the cruise hubby and I are going on next year, woohoo!

JamiSue - do you wear headphones when you workout? I was getting headaches and finally found the reason was that I needed new headphones.

Aimee - I went off logging my food for just a week and it made a difference. You don't notice the little nibbles when you don't write them down and the "just this once won't hurt me" choices become a lot more frequent. Good for you for sticking up for yourself and making him listen.

Mandy - I hope you and your hubby (don't ya just love it!) have an awesome date night for his b-day. And tell him happy b-day for all of us.

Paradise - I started at 245 and I was eating about 1700-1800.

Angie - I'm glad the chips didn't derail you. I know what you mean about days when your calories are on or below target but you could have had more nutrition. I think we've all had those days.

goal4agirl - I'm not sure there is an answer for that, you'll always get some people who go one way and some who go the other. I think the best you can do is try it both ways and see which way feels best for you.

starbrite - YAY! Bye bye water weight!

Diana - Isn't it awesome to know your body so well? That's ok, that's why you have the 5 pound range and I hope they were yummy green beans.

Happy Friday!

My 2 daughters are finishing K today. Next week my son will finish 5th grade and move up to the middle school. Last month I finished my bachelors, so it has been a big year for us. I can not believe my babies are growing up so quickly!

erin9598- I use the multiquote function so I can recall what was said and respond, then I usually delete the part the OP said so my post is not 5 pages long. I think the idea of having 2 windows open sounds a bit easier, so I may try that out tomorow.

Angie- May the woooshes begin!
Great job with all your walking, I think I need to include a lot more walking through out the day this summer.

Diana3271- Thank you for the encouragement.

goal4agirl- I usually eat a little something, either a piece of fruit or some yogurt before exercising in the morning. Then when I come back and get cleaned up I have something else, maybe oatmeal or eggwhites.

SwimGirl - Great job being persistant about the need for more hours!

Diana3271- sodium always gets me with a vengence too!

Good morning, Friends and TGIF! Today is my official weekly ticker changing day. I'm down 3.8 lbs this weeks! Yahoo! I'm back in the saddle.:D

Gale - great drop on those scales for you, too!
JamiSue - I am amazed that you can do 30mins on the eliptical. I tried it one time. I barely lasted 5 minutes!
Bulletproof - How did you like the 30 day shred?
Mandy - How was date night? Hubby and I were considering date night tomorrow and going to see the new X-Men movie. Well, my 15 year old wants to see it with us, so no date.
Paradise - When calorie counting, I usually flex my calories anywhere between 1600-1800.
Erin - I keep a notepad handy! These ladies are chatty, which I absolutely adore. I've been on threads where no one hardly posts. It's tough to get any kind of accountability or friendships developed on those.
Angie - Sorry about the evil chips. We all have our triggers and our blips. No worries.
Goal4agirl - Personally, I eat a little something before my workouts. Otherwise, I don't have as much energy and don't enjoy the workout as much.
Aimee - Congratulations on sticking up for yourself! One of my Dad's favorite sayings was "the squeaky wheel gets the grease."
Diana - Bob is hot! Sounds like a great date. ;)
Starbrite - You've been on an emotional and stressful rollercoaster. Hang in there. These times won't last forever.
Roxy - A cruise sounds wonderful! I've never been on one.

Hubby found a great groupon for a white water rafting outing that is just across the border in Tennessee. So, we're going next month for my birthday. I'm so excited! I need to keep getting in shape so I'm ready for this. I've always wanted to try, but have never had the opportunity.

Have a great on-plan day.

Angie - Awww, thanks! I love that pic too, one of the few I look perfectly happy and content . . . in Vancouver, kind of a catch 22 but a good reminder why im busting my butt with school now, so i can get there on my terms and provide for Jack. 2 minutes seems to be his attention span too ha ha.

Diana - Thanks for the reminder :) Sometimes you just need that outside voice to say "Wait a second, you've come far already and you know what you're doing, roll with it"

Aimee - if you can, check out fatsecret on your iphone, its a free App, I use it (yup started counting again lol) and it takes your weight and can guesstimate your BMR from it, adds sleep, standing, desk work, walking at different passes, gardening, driving etc for exercise and has a huge database of foods to help log. Its really handy for me, might be for you too.

Star - check you out with the 2.2!! Woot Woot.

FitGirly - looks like we pulled the same number today, I say we both get rid of it tomorrow :) What cruise are you and hubby taking? I really want to take Jack on one when he's old enough - but I really have no idea what would be good for him and at what age. I've got a few years to think about it I suppose.

Girly - you are certainly back in the saddle, what a great number for the week! Congrats.

Im sorry if I've missed anyone, we have a postal strike going on and I've just realized my phone is lite up with messages which I'm assuming will be "Oh my God how am I going to get my cheque?" I don't even care, its friday, I am wearing jeans to work and its sunny outside. Yay!

Much work to do. Will try to check in later. Thinking about you guys!

April 2011 - Lost 2.2 lbs
May 2011 - Lost 10 lbs (ready to show June who's boss!)

May 31: 272.6
1: 271.2 (-1.4)
2: 270.1 (-1.1)
3: 270.1 (-0.0) TOTAL LOST -2.5

Totally okay with a net zero this morning. I've been completely OP since Tuesday but was a little high in sodium yesterday so I'm sure I'll start seeing movement again soon. The good news is that today makes four OP days in a row! WOOT WOOT!

Now for my challenge. Last month, all of my upticks were concentrated around the weekends. I WILL stay OP this weekend if it kills me! Once in a while is okay but EVERY weekend is seriously not okay. I WILL do this! :carrot:

Mood: Happy with a positive outlook

Angie -- Well, I eat a Special K protein meal bar when I get up in the morning. I'm up at about 5:20am and at the gym by 6am. I drink about 16oz of water between the time I leave my house and the time I leave the gym. I got another small headache this morning but took something right away in the hopes that it will tackle the headache before it gets out of control. Still not sure what's up, a friend a work mentioned that it might be my bloodpressure...not sure but this is definitely something I need to figure out. It's happened consistently since I started doing the elliptical on Tuesday.

Sunshine -- Nice loss so far!

GoalGirl -- I actually eat both before and after. I eat a protein bar before and then yogurt w/ fiber one after. If I don't, I am ravenous by 9am! I also exercise early. If I exercise first thing, "life" can't derail my workout plans - like it often did when I exercised after work. And yes, it does always make the start of my day nicer - knowing that I have accomplished something important already!

Aimee -- I use MyFitnessPal to track all my calories. Based on my activity level, weight, and age - it tells me what my BMR is. By tracking everything I eat and all my exercise, I can see what my net calories are each day. (Total cals consumed - BMR - exercise = net calories) :) I'm a huge fan of MFP. It's super easy to use and it has an iPhone and Android app that I LOVE! Big contratulations on standing up for yourself...even better that the guy listened!!

Starbrite -- So happy to see that the water weight worked itself out so quickly! Stay strong Starbrite. Everything will happen as it should. You must have been passed over for this job because another even better one is right around the corner!! :goodvibes

Bloesem -- Nice loss! GREAT JOB!!

FitGirly -- I do wear headphones but I'm leaning towards thinking they're not the problem. I've had them for three months and they're super comfortable. I don't do heat well and always get a headache when I'm overheated. I'm thinking of examining that aspect more closely. The elliptical is definitely a harder workout than what I've been doing and I'm really working up a sweat...except I don't sweat...I turn red! LOL - I think I might try to turn the fans up in that area at the gym next week and see what happens. Serious thanks for helping me think through all the possible offenders. Let me know if you have any other ideas.

Envelope - Wow! That is quite a year! Big CONGRATS on getting your bachelors!! I know what you mean about seeing the kiddos grow up. It's hard and it happens in the blink of an eye!

Jen -- Nice job!! You're going to be seeing the 260's in no time!

Rhonda -- :carrot: So happy you earned such a huge loss this week! Way to go!!!

Charliee -- Good luck getting back on track today!!

Coondocks -- Yay for Friday and sun!! Hope your day isn't too crazy w/ the strike going on!

Vixsin -- YAHOO!! Look at those cute lil' bouncy guys in your siggy!

May I join your challenge? I noticed the same thing in my weigh ins, except that my ups weren't just ticks... they stayed around. :(

5/31: 239.0

1: 239.0
2: 236.6
3: 235.8

Another new low today! :D I fully expect to see a bounce upward tomorrow, but that's ok. I went to the gym today for the first time since Saturday (sick kids, DMV morning, etc. this week), I'll be glad to get back into that routine. :)

date night with hubby was wonderful :) if you like the pirates movies, this one is more of the same awesomeness. and the food at cracker barrel was delicious as always.

even better, today's weigh in was 269.8... meaning no gain from it :D (surprising, since i got chicken topped with bacon and cheese, steak fries, fried okra, buttered corn, and we split an apple cobbler for dessert)

that means i'm down 4.8 from last friday's weigh in. the water is gone. :D and i think i can officially say i'm in the 260s :D that is, if i can keep the weight off this week. with birthday cake and another off plan meal scheduled for monday. oh well. just keep on going, right?

Oh my goodness 10 pages wow

Hope everyone is doing well this first week of June

Diana frosted flakes, honey roasted cashews/peanuts, and crackers are my weakness. I have tried doing the snack bag thing like my neighbor said but I'll just go get another bag :( Diana LOL about Bob :)

Aimee I haven't even started to try to do what I use to do, I know I can't hang ... but the great thing is even though you may have felt horrible during your workout, you did it :high: I bought a new calorie book, not sure why since I use the computer but I have it. Good for you on getting back at 'er  Good for you on getting your workouts in :) please send those vibes to VA :) Good job on speaking up for yourself

Blondie good job on the pound down yesterday and probably just a little water weight today :)

starbrite hope today is better, and they're a better opportunity out there for you, even though it may not seem like it right now  good job on the 2.2lbs :)

Hi Quillie

Coondocks when I would walk extra miles it seemed my weight would go the wrong way also, not sure what that's all about but it happened to me too. I now need to get back into doing a pinch of a mile or something :) You go Girl, show that scale who's the BOSS  Throw down !!! Ha Ha that's right tell Ona as you wisely said, you know what you're doing, you're making the right choices, it'll have no choice but to come off sooner or later smiling at you Ona

:woohoo: Vixsin congrats on the 60lbs GONE that is great. I'm so glad that you and your family are fine and sending prayers up to ALL that have been affected by the tornados :hug:Congrats on no more plus sizes also ... It's gonna take awhile not to go to that side of the store, at least it did for me. My kids kept saying Mommy can you wear those sizes anymore and I'd look and say oops :) CONGRATS on your new low :high:

envelope sending :goodvibes: for that whoosh :) It is amazing how time flies and how quickly they grow. We have 5, our oldest is going into the Army after she graduates and our baby is going to the first grade :) this is thrilling and scary at the same time.

wow Kukkie you took the words right out of my mouth Need to stay on plan for goodness sakes and somehow get back into working out. I like working out and the way it makes me feel, it's the getting started that kills me. I am so trying to start again ... we'll get there. In the words of Coondocks Let's get'er done :D

Ona you are so right this is a forever learning experience. It amazes me how what worked once sometimes doesn't work again ... :?:

goal4agirl June 1st was my anniversary also. I lost a total of 16.6lbs for the year sucks for me considering on 9/25 I had lost 30lbs ... then I started working and got lazy but I am back. We will do this :high: When would you like to reach your goal? Last year I said by my birthday which was April ... but this time I have a little less to lose so I haven't thought about it. :) I have to put something on my stomach before I exercise (when I exercise) or I get really nauseous :)

Paradise ... I eat the frosted flakes for a sugary snack but I can never stop. :nono: But you wanna know what's funny? I can sit down with a box of plain bran flakes and do the same thing ... but the blue box catches my eye first ... I'm such a big kid hehehe :D I'm with you, the people on this thread have been a big contribution to my successes :)

Gale congrats on the new low :)

Hi eclipse

Jami sorry about the headaches  ... good job on the 2.5lbs :high: CONGRATS on the 4 OP days in a row and please please send that stay OP this weekend to me, I NEED IT BAD. I'd like to put my cell on here so you all can send me a text periodically saying NO NO don't eat that :)

Hi Matilda

bullet good job on the 2lbs :high: ... I looked at that 3DS DVD the other day and put it back on top of the TV, the up and down (on the floor then jumping jacks) killed me, but I know I need to start somewhere again. You go Girl :high:

Bloesem good job on the .2 and the .4 ... it does make working out so much easier when we enjoy it ... I can't wait to get there :)

Mandy  oops tell Hubby Happy Birthday ... :) :woohoo: Mandy Congrats on the 4.8 :)

blinkworks good job on the .4 :)

erin you open two tabs read one and type on the other ... these ladies taught me that :)

Angie I wish I were near you so we could walk together, I need a partner. :) and a motivated one at that

ilbnej good job on the .2 and the 1.3 :)

sunshine good job on the 1.5 :)

FitGirly I like no changes better too ... a whoosh is probably in store for you soon :) I think I'm losing my mind when you said Happy Friday I'm like what??? I think my brain is in a fog :?:

Rhonda congrats on the 3.3 for the week :) Wow white water rafting looks like fun but I'm terrified :) wish I was daring :)

charliee.4 in two days isn't bad at all probably just water :)

Hi Vladadog good to see you

OK I hope I didn't miss anyone ... I typed a book on the end of the May thread and it was totally overlooked so maybe you all will see this one. :D

I have done pretty well the pass two days. I was down to 176.2 this morning still 11.2lbs from my all time low but at least things are moving in the right direction. My girlfriend came to visit me yesterday she's a Marine so I only get to see her one day out of the year when she comes to the east coast because she has to see everyone of course. When I saw her last year I was weighing about 198 or more. I told her that I was gonna look like her when she came to see me this year ... well of course I don't but she was really proud of me anyway ... that I did keep my word and do something about my weight. She told me not to beat myself up because everything takes time and I am doing a good job. That felt really good coming from her because I will be totally honest as much as I wanted to see her I didn't want her to see me still over weight. But when she comes next year I will look better than ever :D We even talked about going to VA Beach for a couple of days next year so you know I have to get it together :)

Gahh! I’m up .8 today after 2 1100 calorie days. I thought I’d go lower cal this week to get rid of the Vegas weight, but that’s not working…I’m going to try more calories today and see if that will get things moving a bit. Other than a bowl of chips the other day I’ve been eating clean all week and always within calories.

Goal4agirl -- I’ve read recently that it’s better to exercise in the morning if you can as it helps sustain your energy levels all day. I’m a fan of eating before exercising, but as you said there are many opinions on this. I suggest trying it each way and discovering what works best for you.

Aimee -- Congrats on standing up for yourself at work! Do you work at a major Canadian drug store by chance?

Blondie -- Your gain could be sodium or water retention…stick to your plan like glue and it will be gone in no time.

Starbrite -- 2.2 is awesome! Way to go!

Diana -- So unfair! I’m the same…I had bbq’d lean pork for dinner with cucumbers and carrots…and a .8 gain *crazy*

Roxy -- Ahhh, so that explains why it always seems my friends’ DH’s are always late coming back from deployment…thanks for the insight!

Envelope -- My DS is graduating Kindergarten later this month as well :D. Sounds like exciting times at your house. I didn’t get my whoosh today, but I’m hopeful for tomorrow.

Rhonda -- Good job on your 3.8 this week! Awesome! Rafting sounds like a blast, can’t wait to hear about it.

Coondocks -- congrats on your loss today! Any timeline on heading back to Vancouver right now?

Vixsin, Charlie, Matilda

Jami -- Hmm yes it could be blood pressure, but that's a bit scarier to me...please get it checked. Do you have blood pressure cuffs to try at the pharmacies there? We have that here, and it can save a trip to the Dr. You can google the normal rates. I measure net calories too, but I use loseit.com and the accompanying app for my ipod. I like that I have it with me all the time and can update food throughout the day.

Vladadogs

Mandy -- I don't know if i love pirate movies, but I have a serious crush on Johnny Depp. I could have jumped the fake Jack Sparrow when we were at Disney last December -- I'm sure the way I was staring at him was actually kind of creepy. Yum! Good job on your weight loss this week!

Rennie -- I can still be your walking partner...just let me know how far you want to walk and we'll promise each other to do it. I won't let you down and I hope you won't let me walk alone either! I"m glad you had a great visit with your friend, you'll look smoking hot by next year for VB. Let's walk and get those legs looking awesome :)

Just had the YUMMIEST pizza for Pizza Night tonight. Paul Newman thin crust 4 cheese. I added some stir fry garlic chicken and turkey pepperoni. Seriously!!!! I got to eat half of the pizza. It makes 3 good size pieces. :yay: Not too shabby for 650 calories!!!! Also came home from work today and hopped straight onto the treadmill for 40 minutes, a bucket of sweat, and 425 calories burned.

All in all, today has been a pretty good day. I hope it's been that way for all of you!!!

06-03-2011, 09:56 PM
Thanks Angie  I so want to walk again like I use to. I know I can get this weigh off if I just commit. I was gonna walk this evening but two of our sons went to a sleep over, the oldest is out and the little ones can't keep up. DH said he was tired so I'm here. I will definitely let you know though and hopefully I can keep up with you :)Maybe you could do calorie cycling and see how that works. I remember when Diana suggested I up my calories last year, it sure helped to get and keep things moving, she figured out my average and took it from there. :)

Diana you were talking about chips, I am a salt person so I stay away from chips too (Nacho Doritos are my favorite), they are definitely another of my weaknesses. I think I have too many weaknesses don't you? :D

Diana - nice estimate! Who knew green beans could be so bad!

Roxy - omg, my body hates me even more today, I struggle with counting calories, because it takes SO long sometimes, but it's whats got to happen to lose the weight. I am shocked how people are listening to me now that I'm sticking up for myself, who knew! But mostly my direct boss doesn't really listen to me which is why I had to go to the big boss.

envelope - thanks :) I definitely lack in the area of sticking up for myself, working on it :) Sounds like a VERY big year!! Congrats on the bachelors!

Rhonda - Congrats on the great WI this week :) What a great saying, I like it!

Coondocks - I will definitely check that app out! I like the idea of knowing my BMR, but I am still in love with writing my calories down in a book. Not too sure why.. I'm weird like that :) Yeah, this morning was BRUTAL!! I woke up sweating, cooled down in the shower but heated right back up getting ready for work! I came home and had an ice cold shower with my new body wash from Bath & Bodyworks (lemon vanilla - definitely worth the investment!).. I'm now in heaven :D

Jami - I have that app already, but really haven't played with it.. I should do that. You can totally do it this weekend!! Where are you on your cycle? Perhaps it could be hormonal? Sometimes weather can be a factor, is it hot and humid? I hope the headaches go away soon, I used to get migraines 4-6 times a week, SO not fun :(

Rennie - Time to start small my dear! And honestly, if I can get off my butt, I know you can. Remember, YOU are worth it! WE are worth it :D Do you prefer writing your calories down or putting it into the computer? Your friend is right, you are down 20 pounds in a year, and those are gone for good - that's something to be proud of!

Angie - I sure do! But you don't have any in your end of the country, it's a western Canada thing. What gave it away? Lowering calories that low always backfires on me, so I think you are right, having some more calories today may help. We'll find out tomorrow :D

Mandy - great picture :D

Alright, I got on the scale super early this morning, and I stayed the same, but I hadn't gone to the bathroom or anything. I'm so sore, tired, I think I'm going to sleep good tonight!!

-Aimee

Ha Ha Don't we all! Every day is a new challenge! ;)

Mandy You are absolutely beautiful! Congratulations! (I think I missed telling you before) I hope you and your DH have a long and happy life together.

That's ok, that's why you have the 5 pound range and I hope they were yummy green beans.

I think having a range is the best way to go. Other wise you are constantly fretting over a pound here or there.

Diana - What's your favorite Bob workout dvd? I might need to move on from Jillian eventually.

I only have 1 so far and I'm really liking it. It's Ultimate Cardio Body. It's cardio and weights.

Thanks Aimee I am so trying. I read what you all do and I think wow and you all work, I don't any longer. I would love to get up early and do something but DH gets up super early and I don't like working out in front of him, not sure why I just don't. I have really lost my drive and I do much better with someone else. But I'm gonna do good this month I hope. Though I blew it today. I had 795 calories in snacks and the sodium was off the hook. New day tomorrow (but it's the weekend) :crossed: now for a good day ... I know one day at a time :)

LOL Diana my goodness and these challenges get harder and harder :)

Jami I'm gonna give it a shot, regular pepperoni upsets my stomach and it may be that I eat too much, along with the grease. But I'll get some and some multigrain wraps and fat free mozzarella if there is a such thing, make my own pizza pocket. :) Thanks Vixsin and Jami :)

I am so bad everytime I say pepperoni I think about pastrami so glad there is none in the house since it's so late. Time for a shower and bed before I eat something else. Night ALL

Welcome to all who have just joined in!

JamieSue - You can do it! You've got this weekend OP, No Problem.

Love2b - My husband and I wanted 5 when we were first married, but we were blessed with 3. You have had a big year with your children too!
I have been up and down a bit this year too, but the important thing is that we have gotten past our off plan days, weeks, months, and we are still losing! I bet you look great now and you will look smashing next year when you go to the beach with your friend. One way I plan to add some extra movement in this summer is to walk weekly to our local library with the kids. They will not walk as fast as I usually do, but I will still be getting extra steps in.

Angie - Sometimes our bodies hold onto weight for no appearant reason. Hoping for a nice woooooosh for you!

Vixsin - way to go tackling the treadmill when you got home today.

Mandy - you are a beautiful bride and I absolutely LOVE your dress!

swimgirl - I used to love writing every calorie down in a journal, but now I am a big fan of myfitnesspal so I can use the app on the go and my computer while at home to CC.

Woke up this morning feeling puffy and was dreading stepping on the scale. I was completely shocked to find myself down 1.6lbs!
I hope everyone has a great weekend!

173.4 another downward drop today woo hoo! Hopefully the 'no rain' forcast sticks for today, there is a new section in our big big park that's catorged to kids with topiaries, a water park, sand park, walking trails and i've been wanting to take Jack, today seems like the day.

Angie - Im aiming to be done with my school and ready to move for when Jack tarts school. I am doing it on my own so i want to make sure he's going to have the ability to make his own friends, school will be great for that. The vegas weight will go, keep throwing down and it'll go, but i know how frustrating it is!

Mandy - You looked gorgeous, i love the smile on your face . . . . pure happiness :) :)

Aimee - I love the app, nothing weird about liking to write things down at all, i'm like that with a lot of things still. I've just come to really like seeing the net calories through out the day, helps me when I get to the evening if i need/want to thow an extra mile on the treadmill or something. Helps that it syncs to my computer too, so it's beyon easy to use

Vix - love the new low girl!! 60 lbs . . . FAN-TAS-TIC give yourself a pat on the back and rock it out!!

Love - your friend is right, all the things worth whie take time in life. We will Get'er done! ;)

Sorry if I missed anyone, Jack has finally decided on breakfast so off I go to cook it up and pack up for our trek to the park *fingers crossed*

Good morning :flow2: Well, yesterday I ate more carbs than usual (usual is basically none) got my calories back up to my target range (1370) and ate a little more fat than normal and I'm down .4 -- not jumping up and down, but at least it's down a bit. I'm at 213 today.

We are going to a movie with Cameron's friend and his family today, we'll see Kung Fu Panda 2 -- I'm just waiting to see if we are going at dinner or at lunch and then will try to plan my day around the small bag of popcorn (I'm a slave to it!) that I plan on having.

Mandy -- You looked beautiful on your wedding day, and so happy! Congratulations again. Did you post more pics while I was away? I'll have to go back and have a look :)

Aimee -- I figured you worked in a drug store type place because you know a lot about beauty products :) I thought it might be Shoppers -- I'm a big fan of optimum points, I take full advantage of that program. It's funny how some stores are only in some parts of the country, or some are only in rural areas and some only in urban.

Starbrite -- Are you still working with your evil trainer? Do you talk to him about your weight loss? He might be able to make some adjustments to your program to help you get things moving again.

Diana -- Good morning! Don't you sometimes wish that your TTOM could be over for good? Now that I've had my baby, and don't plan to have any more, I almost wish I could just get on with that process.

Envelope -- Whoosh! Congratulations on your 1.6 :carrot: I didn't get a whoosh today, more of a oosh (no wh) or maybe a gosh. :)

Coondocks -- Thanks, I'm still sticking to plan...I had a big week all in all, I lost 10lbs, but I know it was mostly water and not really the fat that I really want to see gone. I'm going to hop on the treadmill today and go for at least 3km (minimum 30 minutes) are you up for it?

good morning ladies.

still no change on the scale. 269.8. 3 days in a row now. and i'm gonna be happy about that instead of grumpy, considering yesterday's weigh in was after a night out to eat, and today's weigh in was after a cupcake binge after work last night because i was in a horrid mood (but i managed to stay under 1800 cals? controlled binges ftw?) and also not drinking enough water yesterday.

so no change, and i'm gonna take that as a good thing because it means no gain!

April 2011 - Lost 2.2 lbs
May 2011 - Lost 10 lbs (ready to show June who's boss!)

May 31: 272.6
1: 271.2 (-1.4)
2: 270.1 (-1.1)
3: 270.1 (-0.0)
4: 268.7 (-1.4) TOTAL LOST -3.9

So far so good on my OP weekend! I just reviewed my numbers from las month again and saw that I gained every single weekend in May but ONE! Yikes. So far so good in June. I AM going to do this!! I'm heading to Zumba this morning and am walking a 5k with my mom on Sunday so I'll be getting some good activity this weekend! I'm actually thinking about starting the C25K program this month. There's a 5k in August that I might just try running... :o

Gale -- YES please join my OP Weekend Challenge! I did noticed that you and I mentioned the same trend in our May recap. You are doing AWESOME so far this month!! KEEP IT UP!

Mandy -- You are doing so great! Amazing how just jumped right back in. WAY TO GO! And WOW! Your pictures are so beautiful!

Rennie -- Sounds like you, me and Gale are starting an OP Weekend Challenge for June. Let's help keep each other accountable! I'd be more than happy to be texting buddies too! :D Your friend sounds pretty amazing and she's right! You are doing great!!

Angie -- Yea, I don't actually think it's blood pressure...but it's not going to hurt to monitor it more regularly. Thanks for the great advice. And yes, the Apps help SO much in staying OP throughout the day. LOVE THEM!! Great job listening to your body - you'll find that calorie sweet spot again!

Vixsin -- You are a SUPER STAR! Your dinner sounds amazing and great job jumping that mill afterwards!

Aimee -- Yea, having headaches everyday is not fun. It kind of starts to negate the high I get from exercising first thing. Boo! I'm thinking it because I'm getting so hot during the workout. I get what I call "heat" headaches all the time because I don't sweat enough. I think I'm going to bring a little battery operated fan to keep me cooled down. Nice job maintaing. The weight's going to start melting off with all the exercise you're getting in.

Starbrite -- Shake it up baby! :D

Envelope -- WOW! Great loss this morning!!!

Coondocks -- Woo hoo! :crossed: that the sun holds out so you can enjoy the park with Jack today. We woke up to ran here this morning. Rain? In California? In June? Seriously?!?!

Jen -- You are doing AWESOME this month!!!

I only restarted dieting yesterday, and was 209.4 on the scale, but this morning I weighed in at 208.4!
I only "officially" record weekly scores, but I like to weigh everyday to remind me what I'm working toward.
This 1 lb makes me feel great because that's 1lb toward my 16lbs (5%) I have to lose before I can undergo bariatric surgery.

I'm down .2 to 173.6 today. TOM is back again so I'm not sure how I lost anything, but I won't complain. I am glad to not see the same number for a 4th day in a row! I had an odd morning. I go to zumba in 2 places with 2 teachers. This morning one of my teachers filled in for the other, it was a very odd experience. It was great, as zumba always is for me, but it was odd.

GirlyGirl - If you ever decide to go on one, Carnival and Norwegian are both awesome. I want to go white water rafting! I'm not sure I'm brave enough though :(

Coondocks - It would be some travel to get to the port to start the cruise, but Disney does cruises that are geared to family and kids. I know they have ones that leave from Florida, not sure about California, but I don't see why they'd limit it to Florida. I hope you guys have an awesome time at the park.

JamiSue - I hope you continue having an OP weekend. I'm rooting for you! I'm not sure what else might be causing the headaches. If it is a heat thing maybe you could take a cold pack to the gym with you? I hope you can get rid of them.

Mandy - I'm glad your first married date night went well. Yay pirates! I love the picture, you are gorgeous. Your dress is so elegant.

love2b - No whooshes right now, not with TOM around, jerk! And she's right, it does take time, more time for some people than others. You are doing a great job and you will get there. It's a marathon, not a sprint. Also, even though it wasn't me you asked, I'll answer anyway. I actually think turkey pepperoni is MUCH better than regular. I get the mini ones and put them in salads and wraps.

Angie - I'm sorry your lower calorie days didn't do the trick for you. Maybe try your normal calorie level and make sure you are super low on sodium? Glad you got at least a bit of a drop today.

Vixsin - Your pizza last night sounds yum! I need a pizza night now.

Aimee - If he is not listening to his employees then his boss needs to do something about it, maybe enough people being brave enough to go over him like you did will get the big boss to give him a talkin' to. Good luck getting back into the swing of things with the logging.

envelope - congrats on the whoosh!

Amber - Welcome and good job on the pound.

I hope everyone is having an absolutely wonderful weekend. :grouphug:

Whew! Got up for a 9:30am Zumba class (55 min) and then pushed myself harder and did 30 min on the elliptical! My husband and I have dinner/Hula show date night with another couple. Dinner is at a pizza place so I figure I'd better get my workout on! :)

Amber -- :welcome3: and good luck this month!

FitGirly -- Happy for you too that you didn't see the same number on the scale again this morning - especially with TOM's arrival! Thanks so much for your support w/ my personal OP Weekend challenge!

Good Afternoon Everyone

Hi starbrite  hope you have a lovely weekend also :)

Hi Diana :wave:hope you have a fantastic weekend also :)

envelope if anyone had ever told me I would have 5 children I would have said nope. I use to baby sit alot as a young girl/teenager so everyone said I would have a house full of children :). But I do enjoy it. There is never a dull moment in here for sure. :) Congrats on the 1.6 down :)

I sure hope I have gotten past my off plan days, though yesterday slid in there :D. I need to figure out how to get some walking in. So far so good today but I've been busy with house work and sorting clothes. My goodness that seems to never end. None of the boys can wear the same size, they are 13, 12 and 10. And of course the girls can't even though our 18 year old is so thin the 7 year old can wear some of her tops. weird!!

Thanks Coondocks I know it takes time, but I am pretty impatient here lately. ;) She got on me because I told her I was seeing a weight loss doctor. She said I didn't need that because I did well on my own before. I told her I'm not doing so good seeing him either. :( But it's so easy for her to run and go workout it's like second nature. She just does it. But I understand what she means and I don't mean to sound resentful because I am truly grateful for all the advice and support that I get. :) Congrats on the downward drop on the scale :) Enjoy your day at the park sounds like loads of fun

Angie good job on the .4 :) Your day sounds like tons of fun, enjoy :)

ilbnej you are on a roll ... the numbers keep going down :high:

Mandy no gain is always a good thing :)

Thanks Jami .... you are on a roll also, wow :high: She is a great friend and so inspiring :) I sure hope I can fulfill the challenge :) :crossed:

Amber :welcome: good job on the pound gone :)

Thanks FitGirly, TOM sucks  good job on the .2 down, I like to see any downward motion :) I like that it's a marathon, thanks :) Feel fee to answer any question or make any comment ... trust me I need all the advice I can get this go around, and I am gonna give the turkey pepperoni a shot. If I don't eat it someone in here will for sure :)

I got up at 5:45 and hoped on the scale just as I always do when I go to the bathroom and it read 177.0 but my normal weigh in is at 6:45 and when I finally got up at 9:30 the scale said 176.2 same as yesterday but I'm gonna take the 177.0 so I'm up .8 from all of my snacking :( but today has been good so far Jami and Gale :crossed: that I/we keep it up :)

Have a great OP day everyone

Whoa! Super bounce!! :( It's not entirely unexpected, and I expect tomorrow to be more of the same. I worked out yesterday for the first time in almost a week (sore muscles, owie!), ate after the kids went to bed (pb ritz bits - bad Gale ;) ) and didn't get all my water in. I went out to breakfast with a friend today so expect the sodium to hang in my system for a day or two. *sigh* Such is life with daily weighing.

Jami - So far, my OP weekend is not going as well as I'd like. BUT, it's better than it has been in the past. I didn't have a sugar binge like I have been on Friday nights, but did eat my 2 year old's ritz bits. Whoops. ETA: I logged my calories for yesterday and I was only over by 95. Not too bad! :)

Mandy - You were a stunning bride, I love your dress!

My calorie count for today is 1420, but in that there was movie popcorn, so I'm not too optimistic about the morning...I'm sure the sodium will take it's toll. Didn't get on the treadmill today afterall, but I did do a good amount of housecleaning that has to have burned at least as many calories! I'm trying to get in some extra water right now, but that may backfire on me with all the sodium...

BTW Kung Fu Panda 2 was pretty good...I wouldn't want to see it again, but it was a decent kids movie. Thankfully DS felt the same, because when he likes a movie we watch it endlessly once it's out on dvd.

Jami -- I'm so jealous of your evening...dinner at a pizza place and a hula show!? That really beat KF Panda 2 and homemade burgers (bunless for me!).

Congratulations to all our losers today! For those who gained...fight the good fight, stick to your plan - let the scale be the first one to budge.

I'm trying to get in some extra water right now, but that may backfire on me with all the sodium...

Angie I have that problem. A lot of people can drink extra water and it will flush out the water they are retaining. That doesn't work for me. The extra water just gets stored until my body decides to release it. :dunno: I have a crazy body. :D

Rennie - tomorrow is always a new day :D Start small maybe? Maybe go out and buy lots of good snacks, I make sure I'm stocked up on snacks just in case!

envelope - great WI today!! I should teach myself to love entering things on my phone..

Coondocks - the app says it syncs with the computer too, I haven't seen where I can enter exercise.. but it's probably so simple that if I actually looked at the app I could figure it out. Josh and I used to run together years ago, we'd run on this trail and at the end of it there was a water park, so we'd run thru it afterwards. It was pretty amazing. Fond memory :) You are giving me ideas!

Angie - Google "London Drugs". Pretty amazing store if I do say so myself, I bought my big screen tv, my bed frame (which is amazing!!), of course all my makeup comes from there, Josh got his laptop there, hmm.. a really awesome lamp for the livingroom. You get the point, it's a very big store! Down AND you ate carbs? What a great day!! :D

Jami - nice whoosh this morning :) I sometimes over heat and get migraines too, what I've done is put cold water on my neck, it really helps me to cool down. I sure hope you are right about the weight melting off soon... sooner than later please ;) Have fun on your date tonight! :D

Roxy - the store manager is a sweet guy, but man does he like to avoid my cosmetics manager, she's hard to deal with though, so I can't blame him.. but geez, enough is enough! That would definitely be odd with the one teacher in the other place, very out of context, but not really.

I got on the scale this morning, it was frightening! The exercise curse strikes again! I think I'm up 6 pounds now. I am hoping tomorrow might bring a little whoosh down since I can sleep in a little :) Fingers crossed!! :crossed:

Gale I had a crazy snacky day yesterday also ... and I love having breakfast out ... those pounds are only temporary and will be gone in no time :)

Ashley wow 7lbs in four days you go girl :high:

Thanks for asking Diana  today was good, I'm working on my last 20ozs of water but my calories are 1190, so I did much better today calorie wise but sodium was way over, cereal, pretzels and fat free salad dressing are the blame for that :) But I should do ok in the morning I think. ;)

Angie glad you enjoyed your day and the popcorn. You know my favorite is Orville Redenbacher pour over butter popcorn (I don't buy it anymore) it's heavenly :) I'm trying to get that last bottle of water in also, but I know I'll be up all night :)

Thanks Aimee, today I had fat free pretzel sticks but the sodium was not good, I didn't check when I bought them, didn't notice until I typed it into fatsecret :( I also had 2 rice cakes, I could actually eat the entire bag but I didn't :). I will be getting some healthy snacks and better foods soon. I need to go grocery shopping :) Fingers crossed for a great weigh in for you in the morning :)

Alright all Good Night, I'll see ya after church

Hi Friends!

Had a crazy busy day today. Started with my morning weigh-in and I finally reached the 30 pound mark. :carrot: Bought my third bead for my bracelet today. Had our annual HOA meeting and I'm on the board again. Am I a crazy?LOL Then, went to dinner, movie and shopping with the oldest daughter and the hubby. Saw the new X-Men movie. If you're into the older X-men movies, Wolverine, Iron Man, etc, you'll love this one! Then, when we went shopping, I treated myself to some nice concealer and eye brightener that I'd been eyeing for a while. I felt like I deserved it since I reached the 30 pound mark. LOL If I feel this excited at 30, what am I gonna feel like at 130?

Hope you had a great on-plan day! I'll check back in again tomorrow.

Happy Sunday everyone :)
Dowm 0.6 of the odd 0.8 I was up yesterday- who know whats going on with me. But I have looked back and the first ten days of each month I haven't really lost and have spent my time scale bouncing. I forget this every month too and get disheartened. Silly me !
Spent the whole day on a sun lounger soaking up the sun. Began a trashy novel at 2pm and had finished it by7pm !! Lazy but lovely, and very good for morale.
I hope you have all managed to find something good for your morale this weekend !

So. Its been months, but I am ready to come back, ready to recommit to myself. I found that this site was the most helpful. I actually went through and read the past 12 pages of June. I just got stuck in one of THOSE cycles and couldnt get out. My actions were destructive to myself, to my weightloss, to my health. I just got tired of doing it and not seeing any results. Its almost 5am, and im here. Why am I here? Because this works for me. You all are so inspiring and I really need to change. I have set out a couple of short term goals, exercise and food wise for the week. Small steps to get back in the groove.

I have my summer runs starting this week. I am starting C2-10K too. Anyway! Its glad to be back everyone! I will weigh in tomorrow whenever I wake. I know that I've gained, but ready to get back to where i was.

I weighed in this morning at 219.4. It's good to be in the two teens; I can feel that onederland is not too far out of reach! I was stuck at 220.6 for a few days, felt like TOM was going to start, and was expecting a slight gain this AM, but this was my surprise.

So, I've met my 220 goal, set for 7/17, early. Onward and downward to onederland.

Have a great Sunday, everyone.

Good Morning, Everyone!

DH mentioned last night about going to eat somewhere "different" today. I don't like "different". I like to eat in my comfort zone. He mentioned about going to eat Thai food. I don't know if we are going for sure though. I like Thai food. I normally order grilled chicken satay and fresh (not fried) basil spring rolls. I can stay on plan and within my calorie range, but there's always that sodium issue. We'll see what happens.

I hope everyone has a fantastic day!

VICTORY!! So, I only lost 1.5 lbs in a matter of 2 1/2 weeks and I was quite discouraged because I am only 1 month into my journey. I workout for an hour and a half every day so it seemed like my hard work was not paying off. I woke up today and I was down 5lbs!!!! This also means that I am no longer obese!!!

No weigh in this morning, my eating got way way off plan yesterday due to ruined picnic lunch - long story, sort of funny.
Anyhow, we ended up having to improvise and eat at the zoo, you can imagine how well that went over ha ha.
But, we had a great time, we were out at the park for an hour or 2 then spur of the moment decided to go to the zoo. a 5 hour outdoor day in all, it was great :)

I finally got back on the scale this morning and saw 201.3 which is down 1.5 from my last WI 3 days ago, so that's a good thing. I followed that right away with a workout, and then some gardening (so that's additional workout in my mind ). It's been a good Sunday morning! Just a quick check in for me right now. I'm hovering around 189-ish everyday. TOM got here yesterday. Awesome. LOL I'm battling him by being ON PLAN!!!! :sticks her tongue out at TOM:

Installed a new car stereo yesterday. Well.....my friend and his brother did. LOL SO nice to have music in my car again! :dancer: Today is full of massive cleaning and procrastination from the cleaning...(notice I am online right now. LOL) Hoping to get more accomplished.

Also got my security camera installed and hopefully no one knows it's there. It does show off my car quite nicely. Let's all say a quick prayer that the vandals DO COME BACK!!!! i know it's out of the ordinary for us, but we really do want them to come back just one...more....time....(insert maniacal laugh here.) Star,I've noticed, usually i don't start losing till after the 9th of the Month (most months) but were on plan, staying mindful of what we eat so..everything will work out.

Diana,thanks for the Picture,you look great :)

aww Angie  that was so sweet  well I'm back cause finals were today and Rafa won :yay: :carrot: great job getting rid of that water weight :cp:

Rennie, glad you had a nice time w/your friend :) you're doing great really :cp: you're gonna look great for you guys trip :)

Vixsin,i so envy you.I read how you are working pizza into your lifestyle and doing a great job.Hopefully soon i won't be so scared to tackle the sodium effects of eating some.:o I've learn how to incorporate(make) Garlic Crabs and pork-loin ribs now so I'm getting there.

Had a NSV yesterday..went shopping, saw this cute white skirt but the largest size they had was a 14.(it was cotton, didn't stretch any and looked so small)I asked the sales lady did they have any more in the back but she said all they had was on the floor.

Another sales lady passed by,i asked her about any more skirts, she said no But SHE said,(after she could tell how bad i wanted it)"why don't you try it on".. Well..I tried it on.. and..Low and behold.. I walked out of that dressing room with the biggest smile ever  it fit perfectly :cp: I looked around, found the Lady that told me to try it on(cause i wouldn't have) hugs her and thanked her  She was happy for me too :) that made my day :D

 to everyone i Missed

We've had a nice quiet day...watched a softball game then came home and enjoyed the back yard for a bit. We are just chilling out and watching a movie now. Still sticking to my plan...hoping for a payoff soon. I'm in the biggest loser challenge again and had to post a gain for the first week, that really sucks.

Aimee -- I did look up London Drugs, you've got lots of stuff!

Rhonda -- I'd love to see how your bracelet is shaping up, please post a pic if you can :)

Starbrite -- Sounds like an awesome quiet day - Perfect!

CutieCourt -- Welcome back!

Beck -- Congrats on hitting your goal earlier than planned and on getting into the 2-teens.

Diana -- Mmmm...Thai food, yum! Good job on your 1.2. What a great pic of you and DH, you look amazing! Enjoy your dinner wherever it may be.

Coondocks -- Sounds like a fun day outside!

Roxy -- Hope you find time for a nap or some down time today.

Kukkie -- You'd be surprised how many calories gardening can burn...I put it into my calorie counting app and was amazed!

Ona -- I love your story about the skirt! That is so cool when you can surprise yourself.

April 2011 - Lost 2.2 lbs
May 2011 - Lost 10 lbs (ready to show June who's boss!)

May 31: 272.6
1: 271.2 (-1.4)
2: 270.1 (-1.1)
3: 270.1 (-0.0)
4: 268.7 (-1.4)
5: 267.4 (-1.3) TOTAL LOST -5.2

I'm almost through with weekend one of my June OP Weekend Challenge and so far so good. I'm on schedule to have another OP day today too! I CAN do this!!! Oh yea, my mom and I finished our 5k this morning 5mins faster than last year! Woo hoo!

Rennie -- I don't know but I think I would have gone with 176.2! ;)

Gale -- Definitely didn't go too far over yesterday! Come on...you CAN do it!

dandk -- Welcome and congrats! You are doing great this month!

Angie -- Last night was great! The pizza was awesome and the show was so beautiful! One of my close friends runs the halau that was performing so it was extra special for me to be able to see her sing and dance. She really is just so talented! It was a nice adult evening out on the town! ;) I saw KFP2 with my boys last week and really enjoyed that one too! Really excited about how they left it open for a 3rd one!

Aimee -- I think it's normal to retain water when you start exercising. The temporary gains should stop soon so just keep up the good work! Thanks for idea about the cool rag. I'm definitely going to do that tomorrow when I hit the gym again Monday morning!

Rhonda -- CONGRATS on hitting pounds! What kind of bracelet are you building? I'd love to see a picture! I've been trying to think about a good way to visually acknowledge my success as a reward too so I'd love to see what you're doing.

Starbrite -- Good for you for getting some well deserved R&R this weekend! A few hours lazing around with a book sounds like heaven to me!

Cutie -- :welcome3: and :bravo: for recommitting! I completely agree that the support and accountability the 3FC members provide is invaluable! Good luck training for your C2-10k!

Beck -- :congrat: on making it to your goal ahead of schedule! You are doing AMAZING!

Sunshine -- :carrot: WTG!!

Coondocks -- Your outdoor day sounds like quite the adventure! I can't wait to hear about it! 12,000 steps is quite impressive! GREAT JOB!,

Kukkie -- Congrats on being down this morning and getting into the gym!

Vixsin -- I really hope the vandals do come back so you can bust their a$$es! Little creeps! Enjoy your tunes!

OnaMi -- :carrot: Great NSV story! You go girl!

Good Day Everyone

Rhonda congrats on the 30lbs GONE :woohoo: You deserve to treat yourself :)

starbrite glad you had a good day :)

Welcome Back Court, I did the same thing, and like you the inspiration from the people here keep me going, again welcome back ... sounds like you're off to a fantastic start.

Beck congrats on reaching your goal early, that's got to be a wonderful feeling, keep up the good work :)

Diana I love the picture of you and DH. WOW Lady you look great! I can't wait to get there. :) Enjoy your meal and don't think about the sodium just sit back and enjoy

Congrats Sunshine :)

Coondocks glad you had a great day yesterday and the rain stayed away

FitGirly I'll bet you look great in your dress :) ... voluntarily? sounds like you don't much care for them though :) I'm that way with skirts, they fit me funny because I have a flat behind and a poofy tummy

Hi Aimee

Kukkie good job on the 1.5 down :)

Hi ilbnej

Angie .8 isn't bad you know what you're doing so that'll be gone in a blink  glad you had a great day and got to relax :)

eclipse good job on the .6 down :)

Vixsin I finally got your cleaning vibe ... it took awhile but I did :D. My kids hate it, I said yes MOMMY is BACK :). Glad you got the camera installed :)

Hey Ona good to see you  and thanks :) Ona that is a wonderful NSV good for you, I think it's time to go shopping :)

Jami congrats on finishing the 5K faster :) So far so good for me today also. Oh and on not taking the lower number ... I take the higher because if I happen to mess up the next day, hopefully it won't be a crazy number on the scale and I won't be totally angry with myself for not eating properly. :)

Mandy good job on the .4 :) You and Curtis look wonderful, keep smiling :)

OK today's weigh in 176.2, I think my scale likes that number. I got on later this morning and I saw 175.6. I'm getting excited for the lower numbers to come. I have been on plan today, and I am actually under on calories. Maybe I'll run out and get some grapes, hummm. I have kind of a NSV. I don't wear shorts because of my varicose veins but we went shopping yesterday for the kids and I saw a pair on clearance and figured since they were cheap what difference does it make if I wear them out of the house or not. Well I tried them on this afternoon and came downstairs and Bill said, Nice ... I said really (you know I wanted to hear it again :D). That made my day and I wore them outside to run errands ... and didn't once think about the veins.

We went to eat at the Thai restaurant. I swear I already feel bloated like I am retaining water. Maybe I'm just paranoid. :dunno:

Sunshine Congrats on your weigh in. Sometimes it just takes time.

Fitgirlygirl I bet you looked fabulous in your dress!

Kukkie Keep it going! :carrot:

Ilbnej Hi

Angie Try the higher calories for a week and see what happens. Maybe you can get a feel for what will happen.

Eclipse Congrats on the .6.

Starbrite Thank you very much.

Vixsin OMG! I can see you sitting there waiting for the vandals, now! :yikes:  Stay safe!

Ona Thank you! Congrats on the NSV! :applause:

Angie Thank you. I hope you had a nice relaxing day.

JamiSue Congrats on the 1.3 pounds.

Rennie Thank you. Congrats on wearing the shorts. I know that was an awesome feeling.

Diana not paranoid, you just know how the sodium affects you ... and you are wondering why do it! Do it because you still have to live and it makes you happy and it's only temporary  Thanks on the shorts, I hope I can find a few more that are the same length. I was shocked to see they actually had shorts that weren't showing everything :)

I am so done with eating today! I managed to eat 1456 calories, but it was harder than I thought (to do it with healthy food!). My big changes were that with a homemade extra-lean burger I ate a flat multigrain bun (190 cal!) instead of my normal 1/2 low carb pita (30 cal)...and I just had a snack of chicken, cheese and crackers. I did walk off about 200 calories, but I'm not going to worry about it, I couldn't possibly eat another thing.

I discovered a new love today...raw snow peas. I've had them before, but for some reason today they taste like heaven. I ate them with lunch and dinner!

Jami -- Good job on your 5k and on shaving 5 minutes off your time!

Mandy -- Do I hear babies in your future?? It's never too soon to start trying you know...lol. I love your dress, and you looked beautiful in it! I hope you'll have it altered when you get to your goal and wear it again :)

Ona -- lol at your fallen butt. I'm always looking at mine when I'm on the treadmill (we have a mirror nearby) and I was thinking it's perked up a little bit with all the walking, but maybe it's just less weighted down :D I should take another stab at the C25 again...I think I put too much pressure on myself about speed last time.

Rennie -- I wish I knew what I was doing after all this time, but when I think I've got the hang of it my body throws me a curveball. :dizzy: Don't worry over the veins...life it too short to miss wearing shorts (no pun intended) because of some silly veins. It's funny how a little comment from someone can really make your day, huh? I was at a softball game today and in shorts and a tank top and lots of people commented on my loss, since this is the first time they've seen me with so little on. It was great. :)

Diana -- How was the Thai food, aside from the evil sodium? I'm very mistrustful of delicious Asian food too, it has done many sneak attacks on me in the past. Yep, I think I'll give it a week at about 1500 calories and see how I do. The trick is to keep it healthy and low sodium to give it a fair shot.

JamiSue3916
06-06-2011, 12:09 AM
Mandy -- Congrats on that nice steady downtrend you've got going on! I love the off-plan walking too...REALLY smart! SO COMPLETELY jealous that you're going to see Tim McGraw! :carrot: And wow! Yet another beautiful picture!!

OnaMi -- Yeesh! 75* at 7:30 in the morning?!?! Holy smokes! Good luck on finding your butt! :D Really wish I could do what they taught me in Kindergarten and share mine with you! ;)

Rennie -- WOO HOO on the shorts!! And yay to Bill for noticing!!

Diana -- Mmmm...Thai! One of my favorites! There are so many times after dinner that I've felt just like you described. :crossed: Here's hoping it's not as bad as it feels!

Angie -- Your post cracked me up! So sorry that you're not enjoying those extra calories but I do hope you see something you like on the scale tomorrow morning!

Good Morning, Everyone! I hope you have a fantastic day!

Calories for yesterday: 1525 + :coffee2:

Weigh In: 145.6

Up: .2 (not bad, hopefully it won't jump on me tomorrow. sometimes it takes a couple of days to catch up)

Rennie I have 1 pair of shorts so far. I think they are Bermuda length. I haven't found any more in a good price range that I like. I think I bought them from Target. I saw in the Target paper, yesterday, that they have Bermuda's on sale for $15. Do you have a Target there? I need to go by there this week to look.

Angie Great job! How did the flat multigrain bun compare to your normal pita? I'm sure you have different brands there than we have here. I eat the flat buns for lunch and ours have 100 calories each. I need to look at the pita's that our stores have here. I get set in eating one particular thing and it's hard to change.

Angie Sorry about the gain.

Starbrite Congrats on the .2.

171.6 this morning . . . . a little shocked, guess all the walking is starting to pay off and listening to the advice to up the calories :) Thanks to those that suggested it, it's really helped out. Im pumped to take out the NEW jogger stroller today and give it a real test drive!!
Im determined to larn to really enjoy running dang it! I figure if we are already out and about, why not pick up a little speed, plus, I really need to start doing things more leg orientated . . . they are not going down grrrrr.

Wow big ramble for so early.

Ona - Keep pushing on lady, sometimes you just gotta wait it out, as I've so learned . . . not that I was the most patient :p

Aimee - that's a pain in the kiester thats for sure, but doing 30DS everyday could have something to do no?

star - Slow and steady always wins, glad to see a little more fight in your post this morning :) Weird saying 'srping in your step' in a forum post ha ha.

Diana - Oh yes, you are most definately tiny!! You look wonderful and I really hope you can see how happy, healthy and beautiful you look in that picture :) :)

30 pounds in less than 3 months should make the doc happy, right?

Okay, I'm down .6 today, so I'm pretty encouraged about eating more, but we'll see what the next few days bring. Cameron and I are home today, he has a PA day and therefore, so do it ;) We are thinking up high-fun-low-cost things to do. We've already had a pillow fight... I'm voting for a bike ride to the park for a picnic, but we'll see how the day plays out.

Jami -- I'm feeling better about all the food. I even ate PEANUT BUTTER this morning! I haven't eaten PB in months!

Aimee -- Ouch! That's hard to see, but you know what it is...could you keep exercising and counting calories, but don't weigh in again until TOM is gone?

Blondie -- Looks like you've had a nice drop in the last few days, congratulations.

Bloesem -- Good job on the whoosh!

Diana -- The flat bun was good, better than the low carb pitas for burgers...the pitas are so thin they don't work all that well, but I had been making due :) I eat a lot of the same things over and over too, I find favourites and stick with them. I am in love with Laughing Cow lite cheese, two wedges are just 45 calories, so I have those on high fibre crackers, or on celery.

Ona --Good morning! Sorry about the gain and the hot run this morning...bleh.

Coondocks -- Congratulations on your drop today!

Mandy -- Why are you dreading your Dr's appointment? Heck, if they don't notice the 30lbs go ahead and tell them :) Good luck with it. :goodluck:

OH! I wanted to share a couple of pics from Vegas, in the way of progress pics...the first is a shot of me and the other people who do the same job as me in other parts of Canada, and the second is me right before we went out to a nightclub. :)

2.8 lb gain overnight. Water retention from the weights or sodium from dinner out, probably both. But I am not happy to see 204.1 this morning, AT ALL. I've got my water at my desk and I'm going to hop on the elliptical this evening as well.

Diana: I agree with all of the others...you are TINY. Yep. You sure are. I'm still admiring those great collarbones! :)

Angie: HOLY LITTLE BLACK DRESS BATMAN!!!!!! :whoo: Hot mama!!!

I'm up again this morning. 190.0 on the dot. Whatever. TOM's here in full effect. I did massive cleaning and going up and down stairs all afternoon yesterday. Myfitnesspal said I burned 652 calories from moving things around the house for 25 minutes and cleaning with light to moderate effort for 90 minutes. Personally, I thought it was horse-pucky but I logged it anyway. LOL

I've got much work to do so I'll try to check back a little later. Have a great day!!

Good Morning Everyone

Angie I think weight loss is all about curve balls, it always keeps us wondering :) And I think we know we just get a little side tracked or sometimes for me a lot side tracked :) Yeh it is funny, but what a great funny. I'll bet you looked great in your tank and shorts also. I know once I get rid of this muffin top as they call it (I call them rolls), I'll be even happier :) Good job on the .6 down :) WOW Lady look at you ...Looking good :)

Ona I missed the butt part, join my world :) our oldest comments sometimes on my butt depending on the what I have on, she'll say, Wow Mom those pants/jeans give you a little butt back there" I just shake my head, she is a mess. I'm gonna start back at Curves also. I haven't been in a while, had too much going on. But I know it works so I need to go :) You are a mess :), strut for your man  and your Mom is right, my Mom says you have legs that work be proud of them. :)

Jami yes yay to my DH he rarely says anything about anything so when he comments we listen and often have him repeat it, because you may never hear it again,

Aimee, I'm sure it's just your body retaining water. You're gonna get a nice whoosh out of that for sure. Like Angie said we are thrown curve balls on our journeys and it seems our minds/bodies play with us to see what will handle. Keep doing what you're doing and the rewards will be great

star good job on the .2 down :) You made me smile when I read this, THANKS Keep strong guys we can do it, however hard, because we have each other

Blondie good job on the 2.4 down :) Isn't it strange how when you get out of the shower you weigh less? I've noticed that also. Maybe from the heat of the water :?:

Bloesem good job on the .2 down :)

Diana yep we have a Target and I need to go there for cereal today so I'll look for the shorts, thanks. :) I also get set in what I normally buy and don't like venturing out of that much, but with 5 children someone is bound to eat it if I don't like it :).

Coondocks glad you're seeing good numbers on the scale and walking is how I lost all of my weight before (so why aren't I doing it now?) I've got to get back to the grind :) Good for you on your determination to run, You Go Girl :high:

Mandy  I would think that would make the doctor happy, especially since you are doing it the right way. Go in there happy knowing that you are doing great :)

Kukkie knock that water/sodium out.

Hi ilbnej

Vixsin you are too funny, with the marrying thing. That was cute! :) Your gain is probably water too, don't sweat it

My weigh in this morning was good down .6 to 175.6. I like seeing 175 let's hope I can keep it for awhile. My first goal new is to get under 175 and stay there for longer than a day (at least a week) and not bounce back to 179-180 which has been my trend the last two months. :crossed:

Well I've got laundry to do as usual, some more to sort and some errands to run. I need to get the back of my hair cut and I go to the hair cuttery. The one lady that normally cuts it wasn't available the last to times so I sat in the lady beside her chair and I loved my cut. Now I don't want to go to the original lady anymore but I don't want to tell her that I prefer the other lady which makes me not want to go. Crazy I know! wish I could do it myself, but that would be a disaster :)

back from the doctor. their scale said 272, but i was fully clothed. i didn't see the doctor today, just the nurse, and she commented on my 30 pound loss. i went in to get my weight and BP checked, and due to white coat hypertension (i totally fear the blood pressure cuff) my bp was 124/80.... but this morning before i went, i took it twice and it was 110/73 and 112/72. took the cuff. showed the nurse. she was happy. got my renewed prescription.

time to strip down and do my wii weigh in haha.

One of four weekends in my June OP Weekend Challenge is now in the history books. Good news: I WAS SUCCESSFUL. I found myself a little up this morning but I was OP yesterday - just a little over in sodium - so I'm not trippin'!

My husband and my 2 yr old left this morning for Texas. They are going to be gone for THREE weeks! I miss them so much already! Not quite sure what I'm supposed to with myself...:o

Aimee - Stick with it...I KNOW you CAN do it!

Jen -- Keep at it!!

Vixsin -- BOO TOM! **** yea I would log those burned calories! BTW - what's your MFP username...I wanna friend you!

06: 247.8 Oook.. maybe I should not weigh more often? The last time I stepped on the scale, sometime last week, I was 252. And now I'm down to 247? How awesome is that? Awesome I tell you - and I've kind of been "off the wagon" here as I struggle with 60+ hour work weeks and messed up sleep/wake schedules!

I am down 1.6 to 172. I weighed much later than usual though, so I'm expecting to be back up tomorrow. My hubby has taken a week off to help me get the house ready for the homestudy, so that is what I will be doing this week. Fun fun fun!

Coondocks - We are going on a Mexico cruise.

Diana - Great pic. You look great and yes, tiny.

Vixsin - Congrats on the stereo and camera, I hope you catch 'em.

Ona - Congrats on the skirt.

Angie - Nope, no nap yesterday. Up until 3:30 in the morning, but I slept in today and skipped the gym. I didn't get up until noon. Great pics! Congrats on the eating more apparently working. Yay!

Mandy - Gorgeous! My blood pressure is always higher at the doc's office. They make me nervous.

Love2be - I have always felt more fat in dresses. I like this new one I got though. Congrats on the shorts. Yay! Not sure what I'd do if I felt uncomfy in shorts. I don't know what to tell you about the hair thing I have trouble when I find myself in similar situaltions, but good luck!

I hope everyone is having a great start to their week.

Back from our bike ride! It was a bit of an ordeal as Cameron is noixt crazy about it. I thought it might be more fun for him if we were both riding, but apparently not. He just rides for about 10 feet then stops because he gets scared...lol...and he's still got training wheels on. It's just not his thing, but I'm hoping he'll grow into it. I had fun though, thinking about asking my mom to keep an eye on him later so I can go out again.

Kukkie - Ouff! 2.8 is tough. Stick to your plan and it's got to come off again.

Vixsin -- Thanks! I love housecleaning as exercise...I actually hate house cleaning, but when I look up the calories it makes up for it. :)

Rennie -- Congrats on your .6 too! Ohhh, I hate that when you find a better stylist in the same salon. Maybe you can just phone ahead to try to find a day when your old one is off but the new one is working!

Envelope -- Good job on getting your C25K done! What kind of camp are you planning?

Mandy -- I'm glad things went well for you at the doctor's office.

Jami -- Great work this weekend! Wow 3 weeks will be a long time to miss DH and DS. You can spend a little more time doing some girly stuff hopefully. Thank you about the dress :)

Roxy -- Thanks! I'm pretty stoked that eating more seems to be working, at least on day 1..lol. Great job on the 1.6.

new low today guys :)

some kinda whoosh last night brought me down to 267.2 (a loss of 2.2lbs from yesterday) i waited until my usual weigh in time of 1pm to check it, hopefully i can keep it. puts me back on track. :D

after the doctor visit i went shopping (mostly groceries, but also birthday for curtis since we're celebrating today with presents and food), came home and cleaned the kitchen, did 2 loads of laundry and chopped all the stuff up for dinner tonight (the meat, onions, peppers, potatoes and garlic), made a jug of sweet tea, and baked the cake. dinner's gonna be polish sausage with potatoes, onions, peppers and garlic, with buttered sweet corn and garlic green beans... dessert is strawberry cake with cream cheese frosting and a surprise of blueberry pie filling in the middle. :D

i feel like i've been super productive on the domestic front today :)

hope everyone's having a lovely day!

2: 236.6
3: 235.8
4: 238.2
5: 239.8
6: 237.2

Jami - My quest for an OP weekend was an epic. fail. I had pizza and chocolate (LOTS of both) on Saturday night and then ice cream with friends last night (although, it was a reasonable portion and not far over my calories.) So, yeah. I made teriyaki chicken last night and had leftovers today so I won't be at all surprised to see another big (sodium) jump on the scale tomorrow. *sigh* Someday, I'll figure out how to stay OP on the weekends.

Ona "full of crap" You tell it how it is! ;) I hope you got some relief today.

Coondocks How did it go with the jogging stroller? I hope you had a great walk/run.

Angie Congrats on the .6. Love the pictures! You look great! I really like the one where you are dressed up. I bought a long sundress for when we went out of town. That was the first time for me wearing a dress in a long time. I need to look at getting a pretty black dress, like what you have on in that picture. They are so versitle.

Kukkie Get that workout in!

Ilbnej Hi

Vixsin Thank you. Great job on getting the cleaning done and burning those calories. I hear you on TTOM. I'm expecting the same any time.

Rennie Congrats on the .6! :carrot: Did you get to the Target?

Envelope Great idea to serve healthy foods tonight!

Mandy Congrats on the 30 pounds & new low! Your dinner sounds awesome! Enjoy.

JamiSue Evil sodium! Give it a day or two and it will be gone.

Rainbowgirl Congrats on the 5 pounds!

Fitgirlygirl Congrats on the 1.6 pounds!

Angie I'm sure Cameron will adjust to bike riding, in time. Did you get another ride in?

Gale Congrats on the 2.6 pounds!

Mandy -- Congrats on your whoosh! Dinner sounds yummy :)

Diana -- Thank you! That dress was a steal at Old Navy, I bought the same one in white too. I wear them with leggings sometimes too...depends on the occasion. You could get a nice little fitted number though, you don't need an a-line like me! I didn't get the second bike ride in, by the time we came home from his gymnastics lesson my mother had already gone to bed, so I'm home bound for the evening. :)

I've seen so many different answers to this, but how often does everyone think they should weigh themselves if they are tring to lose weight?

I hear every day so you can keep yourself in check and make changes if necessary.

I hear every week so that you won't freak out about slight fluctuations (hormones, water weight, etc.)

I hear one a month so you can see over the long term.

Then are those who say Oh, they never weigh themselves and I know they have to be lying because they are so thin!!!!

Opinions? Thanks!! :dizzy:

gigi - i actually track all 3 in different spreadsheets.

i weigh daily to see what foods i'm sensitive to that cause me to retain water, i weigh weekly to see an average trend, and monthly to see long term progress. and on my first-of-the-month weigh in, i do measurements.

Angie Hmm, I've never noticed that Old Navy sell dresses. I need to take another look there.

Gigi33 I weigh daily. I keep track on it here. I've been tracking it for a while, so I can see the daily, weekly, monthly fluctuations/trends. It helps with the emotional side of weighing.

Phew, still on scedule, but that steady maintaining for 5 days sure wasn't cool. Thanks for the cheering, I really appreciate it!

Jamiue, that sucks having to miss your family for three weeks! On the other hand, you can really focus on yourself, figure out what you want, for just you.. Might be nice :D

Rainbowgirl, nice loss! Jealous.

k0nfyo0zed, congrats on the new low! Must be exciting.

Gigi, I used to weigh in weekly, but I'm just too freaking impatient for that. So now I weigh daily, and I like it better. I can really find out what my body(weight) reacts to. But it's just what's best for you I guess.

starbrite, hehe, that's how I feel too most of the time. I'm losing, so I WILL reach goal. I'll just be 50 when I get there. :p Nah, it's all good, good job on the .2!

Hope everyone is having a good week!

I'm up 1.4 to 173.4. I knew I would be up since yesterday was such a late weigh in. I would have liked to not be up quite so much, but that's still less than the day before, so not complaining.

Mandy - Congrats on the whoosh, I hope you get to keep it today. I hope Curtis's b-day celebrations went well.

Diana - Eek! I hate lack of sleep. I hope all goes well with your mom.

Happy Tuesday everyone! I'm off to clean things.

Whooooooooshhhhhhhh! Down 3lbs overnight, wowzers. Goodbye sodium weight and then some. 201.1 this morning and I am supremely relieved. Now just to stay on track today. I was over at my mom's on the weekend and found she finally found a pilates dvd I had. I love this thing, it's got five 10 minute pilates workouts and it allows you to create any combination in any order. It's actually a pretty intense strength workout if you do all 50 minutes, so that's what I've got in store for this evening.

Diana hope all goes well with your mom. Hope you get a burst of energy for the java!

Roxy did I read somewhere that you're going on a Mexican cruise? How exciting, when do you leave?

JamiSue the chugging worked! :carrot:

Angie I used to love bike riding as a kid, but totally lost interest in it as a I grew older. Good for you for keeping with it!

Mandy congrats on your new low. Can't wait to see what today brings you :) Every picture you've posted is just absolutely beautiful!

Gigi I weigh every day, but all of those reasons you've heard/posted are true, I think it all just comes down to what are you comfortable with. Daily weighing isn't necessarily for everyone. Do what works best for you.

Aimee I totally get the rant! I went nutso with a 2.8 lb gain! Water was my friend

Ona hey girl - i missed you! You tell that scale how it is and do what you have to do, it'll come right back off!

Coon how was the new jogger stroller? Btw, I love the new series of pictures in your avatar lately!

Vix I literally laughed out loud when I read you wanted the vandals to come back with a little maniacal laugh, sounds like something I would say/do! Hope you catch 'em and then show 'em who's boss!!

Rennie  just wanted to say hi

 to everyone else, sorry I have to get cracking with work, catch up soon!!

It's working! I'm down 1.2 this morning..yay! The truth is although I'm eating higher calories, with my exercise I'm still netting out to my target range. Anyway, it's working and that's a good thing. I'm working from home today and got a quick 1.5km walk in after I dropped DS off at school. Maybe I'll try the bike ride at lunch!

Diana -- Good job with the .4 on so little sleep! I hope the appt for your mom goes well.

Roxy - Happy cleaning today...just think of all the calories you're burning :)

Kukkie -- Amazing whoosh! Post the name of the pilates DVD if you don't mind...I used to love pilates and would like ot find a good DVD for home. Oh, and I haven't ridden a bike for about 10 years, and the time before that was 10 years earlier...lol.

ilbnej, you're having a great month so far :)

Bloesem, great job on the .4 :cp:

Looking good Blondie :carrot:

Star, you're doing great! you're doing down and will get there.I've put getting to goal out of my mind cause it's too stressful. As long as we eat right and move then it will happen.

:wave:Gigi, try them all and see what works best for you.Personally i like weighing everyday cause i can tell how something i ate yesterday effects me today.Plus being able to review back and see patterns is helpful.

Mandy, congrats on the 2.2 yesterday! nice meal

Rennie,I've done that several times w/the hairdressers that I've had..saw how good the other stylist was and wanted her:lol: I then tried to go to the other stylist when mine was off for that day  but that didn't work and had to fine another salon.:D

Angie,lovely pictures,you look very nice :)

170.8, another .8 bites the dust!
The jogger stroller . . . . L O V E it!! :) :) Jack really seems to like it, I don't know how long it'll last if he keep sgrowing though. Funny thing about it, I started to jog a little bit just to see how it handles, and the rest of our walk/jog I kept hearing "RUN RUN GO GO GO"
That kid is too cute sometimes, what better motivation is there than that? :)

Kukkie - throw DOWN with those pounds! Way to go!! I love my new pic, it was on our park trip saturday. Such an independant little guy didn't want mom's help coming down the hill :)

Angie - A great WI for you!! Lunch time ride sounds pretty nice - Enjoy!!

FitGirly - I wouldnt give the bounce a second thought, you're so active as it is and doing so well, it'll have no choice but to leave :) And Im jealou sof a Mexico cruise, sounds amazing!!

Diana - Hope your mom is ok and you can sneak in a little power nap sometime in the day.

Star - down is down . . . slow and steady wins the race, I have to keep reminding myself of that lately :?:

Ill BBL for everyone I've missed . . . have a great tuesday everyone!!

EDIT:

Ona - look at you with your hour of zumba and a jog, rock it out!! You're getting so close to your goal, so exciting!!
