Hi everyone. I am 5 pages behind! I didn't read them yet but I will once the kids go back to school on Wed. I did see that we have a new member. Hi LeeAnn. I look forward to reading your posts. This a GREAT Group. I love these girls.

Did anyone see the Fiesta Bowl for the National Championship?
MY OHIO STATE pulled it out in DOUBLE OVERTIME. :cb: We went to a party with about 50 people and the place went nuts. It was fun being in Columbus, Ohio for that. We were leaving the next morning but we went on campus the next day and actually found NATIONAL CHAMPS shirts. We were so excited. Then Sunday my Steelers were in their first playoff game this season and they were playing our HATED RIVALS the Browns. We were losing the WHOLE Game and I thought "NOT TO THE BROWNS". I had no hope and the last 2 minutes the Steelers WON!!!!!!! It was so much FUN!!!!!!!!!
Our next door neighbors are HUGE Cleveland Browns Fans and I saw them leave to take their daughter to Auburn right after the game and boy did I feel sorry for that girl. They didn't look happy at all. Oh well!!!!
I will read and respond to everything. I am to nibby not to.
Luv ya all!!!!

Hello My Buddies:wave:

LeeAnn, did I mention my cat is 17 yrs. old? I've had her since she was a couple of weeks. I LOVE animals. Especially dogs. My cat thinks she's a dog too. I even had a turtle. Someone found him walking in the middle of the road & they knew I would take him. I named him Speedy. I had him for years but when I moved he kept getting stuck in the carpeting. I gave him to a little boy that had 2 turtles just like him. Speedy useto eat cat food. I took pictures of him in the cat's bowl. Animals are so smart. You're a member of WW Online too?

Dianne, I cracked up when I saw all your posts:lol:  You are too funny Girl. Mi Amiga;)

Jen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WTG!! 4 lbs.:D Who cares if it's water right? We'll take it.

Terri, hurry back to us we miss you.

Ruth, I tried emailing you & it wouldn't go thru. I don't know why? How are you?

Gotta go exercise. Be back later.

This is for you Jen.

HI girls,

I am OP for 5 days straight fo far. Official WI is on Thursday. I don't remember who was talking about weighing every day but I am guilty of that too. The scale is down so far but I won't say how much because I don't want to jinx it.

Steve and Ellen are in FL. They went to check up on his dad and to deliver the quilt I made for my mom's 80th Bday. They will be back Wed nite. I miss them but I wish I could ask them to stay there another week. By then I might just have 1/2 of the stuff I wanted to catch up on finished

Have a lovely Mon evening. I am off to the gym.

hi guys:

Jen - Big congrats on your 4 lbs loss - that's great. You must feel really good. Any loss when you haven't been OP for a while like most of us is really motivating. I'm happy for you. Way  girl!

Es - Too funny about a turtle named speedy, I have never been a pet person, I think its because I was traumatized by pets, lol. I had a kitten when I was younger and thought it could be walked outside like a dog. Well, when I started walking down the stairs with it, it had a panic attack and latched on to my neck! Then my son Steven who's had almost every form of pet life had a white rabbit and the rabbit jumped into the shower with me  I had a goldfish once and my grandmother flushed it down the toilet by mistake......So, I just don't have a great track record with animals, :p

Janie - Good to hear from you. Great job going to the gym - I'm still trying to find time to do the WATP tape - hopefully tomorrow night.

Terri - Glad you're back with us - but I must tell you that I didn't understand half of your post - all I got was that it was about football:D To me a fiesta bowl sounds like something you eat Mexican food out of, lol. Welcome home!

ZoeGirl - How are you - feeling any better??? Take care of yourself.

Hi Ruth, Sandy, LeeAnn and Cindy - hope everyone's doing well.

Weigh in for me and Willie is Thursday morning - we'll see how that goes. We've been doing pretty well.

Well, I'll check in with you guys tomorrow..........nite-nite.

Hugs,
Dianne

Jen – WTG! That’s great news!

Terri – Glad to meet you!

Es – 17?? Wow! You sure are doing something right. I’ve often thought about having a turtle, but I think my life is pretty full right now. Maybe in the future when there aren’t so many cats in the house (yeah, like that is ever going to happen). I’ve been a member of WW online for about a year now.

JanieD – Good going! Keep up the great work.

School last night wasn’t great. Got incredibly stressed out, and not only didn’t I finish with 3.5 points left over, I ate everything in site and have no clue how far over I went. I’m so frustrated I could cry.

Hope everyone’s day goes well. I’m going to try to shake off this feeling today. Maybe I’ll go for a walk outside at lunch.

Es,
thanks for the dancing woo-hoo...it's been a long time since I've earned one of those! We've got 8 turtles  or, I should say, Joe does. 5 are water turtles, and 3 are box. Not a cuddly, lovable pet, that's for sure. They "winter" in the house in an environment he made for them, then they "summer" in the yard in an enclosed area behind the garage. I've been trying for years to talk him into getting rid of them....it's just alot of work.

Terri!
what a great football weekend for you :D sounds like you had fun. I'm rooting for the Steelers, but am liking Atlanta also  no loyalties here since my Bears aren't in it :(

Dianne,
I am just able to get thru the 1 mile WATP video...I'll continue with that till I feel up to increasing to the 2 mile. I don't blame you for not having pets, after those stories! I've never touched our turtles, and never will. We gave our cat, Alex, to Jess back in May, and that's working out well. My house is also staying much cleaner! I don't see us getting any pet in the future. Good job on staying OP, both you and Willie.

Janie,
enjoy the time you have left alone! Sounds like you're doing well OP...good luck on Thursday.

have a great day!

Hi,

Too funny Dianne about the Fiesta Bowl.
Don't blame you about the laying on the couch thing. Much too comfortable for my liking.
I loved "Susanne's Diary to Nicholas" Brittany bought it for me for my birthday.

Jen,
4 pounds is fantastic. Great start to a new year.
We had turtles when I was little. They are so cute.
My Bucky was 17 when he died. I LOVE Animals.
I am so sorry to hear about your friend's dad. That is so sad.
Our New Year tradition is to have polenta. I like it with gravy and parmesan cheese.
The kids go back tomorrow (Wed.). I'll miss them. :(

Es,
Britts is doing great and she says hi. She was just inducted into the National Honor Roll. She is a happy camper.
That is too funny about your shopoholic. Pete sounds so cute.
Love the Speedy story. He sounded so cute.
Hope the opening of the gym went well.

Zoe,
You are doing so well. I hope you feel better.

Cindy,
Welcome. To be 39 again. I will be 44 this year. :(
This off track thing on Fridays is so common. It is hard but I know you will conquer it. There is a book I just bought called: The Little Book of Dirty Diet Tricks by Carole Bodger. It has a lot of funny and great ideas. One of the funny ones is :Stand next to heavier people. Most of them are real and I have done quite a few.
They are all common sense ideas.
Congrats on your weight loss. That is great!

Sandy,
Good luck.

Janie,
Glad you are back.

LeeAnn,
Here is a little about me. I am 43 and have been happily married for 20 years. I have 3 kids (Brittany,16, Brandon,11 and Bradley,9) I have a dog named Tanner (Spoiled little 2 yr. old- just love him).
I became a lifetime member in 1985. I am doing on-line and I love it. I re-joined again in 2000 and lost 60 in about 2 years.
I am a Stay at home mom. Bruce, my husband, works for Nasa and we lived in Cape Canaveral for 13 yrs. and 6 yrs. ago we moved to the Huntsville, Al. area. Closer to Ohio so it is a good thing.
STEELERS WHO? I'm shocked

I started back today. I do on-line. I gained 4 over the Holidays. This is good compared to other years. I mean I go back to Ohio and have people serve me. I have an Italian mother who cooks.
I plan to have it off this week or at least next. Glad to be back.

Hello:wave:

Terri, welcome back. I'm so proud of Brittany. WTG!;) Maybe I should give WW online another try. Remember the Points Police from my job? She came over to me this morning & asked me to do WW with her. She is a cute petite little thing. She's around 5' & can't weigh anymore than 120. She's 54 yrs. old but acts like 25. She makes me laugh all the time. I told her I'll give it another try. I don't want to let her down.

Janie, you remember me & Tuesdays huh:lol: Today went so fast. I was so busy. This week is going to fly. As long as the weekend doesn't go by as fast.

Jen, 8 turtles:yikes: I could hardly handle one. Speedy useto crap all over the place. That's another reason why I had to get rid of him. Having pets is alot of work.

LeeAnn, I guess you really like WW online. I tried it for 3 months. Maybe I didn't take advantage of all that it has to offer. I have to think about it. :chin: Do you post there also? Don't be so down on yourself okay? We all have those days. I know how you feel. It's behind you. Hang in there.:grouphug:

Dianne, I work with a woman, the Points Police, that hates pets. ALL PETS. She had a few bad experiences. She said she had a possessed dog. LOL I always had a pet. I don't even want to think about what I would do if something happened to my dog.
I'm having a pastele for dinner. You said 6 pts. right?

Well, my stomach is grumbling. Let me go chow down.

Hugs,
Es

Hello my friends ~

My illness must have gone to my head. I'm thinking, wow, my 40's friends are sure busy....no new posts......so I'm waiting...and waiting....and waiting....aha!! a new thread!! That's why I haven't any email notifications!! DUH!!! I haven't read them all but will.

I am not 100% yet but much better. Thank you to all who have asked. This really knocked me for a loop. I don't ever get sick but this is twice in 12 months. I have to say, I don't like it. :( I think I will start taking vitamins which I don't do now. C's especially. Does anyone know if they help keep the colds away?

WI on Saturday found me 1.2 lbs lighter for a grand total of 33.8 lbs. Heck "point 8" is a pound to me so I'll just say "about 34 pounds. :D

Jen ~ Woo Hoo   I'm dancin' for ya. WTG! Those nice loses make you do ever better. Keep up the great work!!

Terri ~ Glad to 'see' you here again. Hope you've been well.

Es ~ your cat thinks she's a dog too?? Mine is a real "lap" cat. Climbs up and cuddles just like a dog. She's so weird but I love it. She's 3 yrs old, the baby of our previous cat so I saw her birth which makes it even more special to have her. Her name is Hannah and she is completely black....not a speck of white on her.

Janie ~ Be proud of yourself for those 5 OP days! That is so great. Keep it up. Come Thursday's WI, you'll be rewarded. I am finding it difficult to stay 100% OP now that I'm in my 17th week. It's rough. I wasn't the one who recently spoke of weighing every day but I find myself doing just that lately. I want to stop, it's not good since we fluctuate so much during the week. Again, WTG and I can't wait to hear your news after your Thursday WI.

Dianne ~ my friend, my friend....yes, I'm somewhat better. I know you and Willie will be seeing a nice loss come WI on Thursday. Keep plugging along.....it's worth it. :)

LeeAnn ~ don't fret....I do that sometimes. I kick myself, cry or just think "how on earth could I have done that???" Just get back up, brush yourself off and get back on track. It's difficult un the beginning, getting started but it's also difficult when, like in my case, you've been OP for so long. I am getting where I would just love to have a fast food double cheeseburger. I've been dreaming of it. I think I'll look it up in my Dining Out book and see if it would be worth the points.

Well my wonderful friends, it's time for me to lay back on the sofa. My body has ran out of gas.......later tonight than the last 4 so I must be getting better. :) Have a wonderful evening.

Me <><

Good morning to one and all! I hope everyone is staying OP and exercising the best they can.

Terri – What are Suzanne’s Diary to Nicholas? I’ve heard several people mention them, but don’t know what they are. Congrats to Brittany on NHS – that’s no easy accomplishment! I just love Italian food! I can see why the weight gain. I’m sure I would have had much more than that. ;)

Es – Thanks for the hug. I needed that. I actually do like the online method. Sitting in meetings just isn’t for me. I’ve lost more when I’ve had online support than the personal/meeting kind. If I’m having a hard day, it’s easy to post then and there. With actual meetings, I may have to wait up to a week to talk about the problem. Do you know what kind of damage I can do in a week? I do post there as well in JC’s Cat Lovers and 40+ and Single under the 40’s board. I try to limit where I post. Too many sites and a) I can’t keep up with who is who, and b) I can’t keep up with all the messages posted. I’m easily confused, you see. :dizzy: So, what is pastele?

Zoe – Glad you’re feeling better. Being sick is just no fun. Fantastic job on the 34 lbs down! Thanks for the words of wisdom. It really helps when I read the posts. I don’t feel like I’m the only one struggling. On the cheeseburger, since you’ve been OP for so long, I wonder if your body might just reject all the grease and stuff that makes it so “tasty.” When I cut down on fats before and then ate a deep fried meal, my body got so sluggish and the stomach really rebelled. I now try to limit the greasy stuff to only once in a great while. And to think I used to have that stuff without even thinking about it. :cbg:

Well, time to get back to work. Hope everyone has a great OP and exercise day!

:grouphug:

LeeAnn,
You had a bad night, as long as you don't let it run into a string of them.....which has happened to me way too many times! I think you're doing a great job of focusing and using the tools that work for you. Hang in there! I'm having tech difficulty w/the boards at the WW site, can access everything, but cannot post. Repeated emails to their tech help haven't resolved the problem yet :( but I'm getting all the support I need simply from reading them for now.

Zoe,
glad you're feeling a bit better. There's been a nasty strain of flu going around here, but it's the stomach variety. I don't know if it's been proven, but I've been taking Vit. C for 3 years now, and have not had any major colds/flu. An occasional sniffle, and that's it :D

Es,
It sounds like a good thing, that the Points Police woman at work wants to buddy up...it's what you may both need. Having support at work like that may be great! Hope it works out.

Terri,
That is so cool  about Britts...congrats to her!!

Yesterday our friend Deb passed away; she's the one who was diagnosed in October w/bone cancer. It's a sad ending to a rapid, devastating illness. She's only 49. I was at a meeting last night, and returned home to the news from Joe. I wish I would have been here for him when he got the call; they worked together for 14 years and were good friends.

have a good day, everyone.... HI to Dianne, Sandy, Janie, Cindy, Ruth...looks like we lost Ruth?

am out for a walk!

Hi:wave:

I'm at work. :( I took a 1/2 lunch break but I'm so busy it looks like 10 minute lunch. I can't seem to catch up. That's what I get for taking vacation.

LeeAnn, I know what you mean about the meetings. I'm very shy believe it or not when it comes to a group discussion. Online is very private, sort of. I may rejoin online instead of going back to meetings. I hate the hassle of going then waiting to get weighed then finding a good leader, etc. I have to see what will be best.
I'll explain later what a pastele is.

Jen, if I join maybe we can chat there sometime.

We should set a date to chat here. Maybe a Friday night?

Okay, gotta go. Till later:wave:

Love,

Hi everyone,

I fell off the wagon last night. I was 4 points over, but I think I had a few points to carry over for the week so maybe it was a wash. I was starting to feel a little lonely (it only took a week) without Steve and Ellen around, so I got into the chocolate.

Terri,
Congratulations to Brit. She should be very proud!

Zoe,
I am glad you're feeling better. Take good care of youself.

Leeann,
I haven't introduced myself. I am 45, married for 17 yrs, with a 9 year old daughter, Ellen. I work fulltime as a researcher and am also a cat lover! Nicky (Nick Danger) is almost 13 and gets more affectionate everyday. I have been lifetime since 1995 and this time around I lost 34 lbs. 3 lbs short of reaching my personal goal (I did get to WW goal). Then last Sept I had somewhat of a personal/emotional crisis and gained 15 back since then. That put me just over WW goal again. One great thing about this program is you start new every day.

I have to be good today, tomorrow is WI. Happy Wed everyone!

Brittany thanks all of you who said congrats. She is proud.

LeeAnn,

Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas is the actual name. It is a book by James Patterson that is completely different than his other books.
It is so good. I read the condensed version in a Readers Digest book first and I loved so Brittany bought me the hard cover book.
I think the reason I switched to on-line was because I hated the stress of weighing in front of people. I felt like I would get a panic attack at any minute. I did much better when I relaxed. I was harder on myself at my own personl weigh-in then they were but I wasn't embarrased if I gained. It is all a mind game.

Es,
Too funny about the Points Police. She sounds cute but I'll bet she is annoying once in awhile? Like a little tinker bell?
Good luck to you. Britts just loves you.

Zoe,
Congrats. It is so common to start feeling antsy around the 20th week. You really have to concentrate now. I fell into those feelings about that time everytime. I really had to work through them this last time. You will do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hope you are feeling better now.

Jen,
I am so sorry for your loss. That is rough. So young. Tell Joe I am so sorry.

Janie,
Thanks. I know you will get right back on. 4 points isn't much and you probably did have extra to spare. When are they due back?

Since you all are taking about cats I wanted to say that on Halloween night in 1986 a little black kitten showed up on my mom's doorstep. He was hit by a car and his little mouth was bleeding. She took him to the vet the next morning and he asked if she wanted him saved? Of all people for him to ask that. After about $600 she brought him home and she still has him. She named him Magic. He is 16 yrs. old. The Halloween thing was a sign.

I ate well today so far. I feel better all ready. I got tired of eating fattening stuff. Never thought that would happen.

Talk to y'all later.
Good luck to all you weighers.

Me Again:D

My WW buddy left work early today but I did talk to her about WW online. I thought she might be interested. She said she can't afford it. Maybe in the future. If you all saw her you would say she does not have to lose weight but she feels heavy. She said her fat clothes are tight on her. Now, let me explain what she considers fat, A SIZE 10!!!! She was complaining once cause her dress was a size 5! Give me a break.

Awww Janie {{{{HUG}}}}. I bet Steve & Ellen miss you too. I can't have chocolate in the house cause I know I would eat it. What do they call that? Red light Foods? Well that's a super duper red light for me. I've gone 10 pts. over at times but I guess that's why I haven't lost anything. I have to get my act together. No motivation whatsoever. Maybe having a WW buddy will help. If she was heavy I would feel we could relate but geeessshhh she's so tiny. Makes me feels like a blimp!

Zoe, how are you feeling?

RUTH!!!! Where are you? Stop by & say hi.

Let me go exercise:( Gotta really push myself cause I'd rather eat & watch my soaps.

Later Buds;)

Terri,
you know, you're right.....little did I think I'd get tired of eating the fat foods. I am amazed at how much food I can tweak out of my points total! That is a great tale about your Mom's Magic.....it was destiny that led him to her doorstep, don't you think? Our Alex has never been happier, he's having a great time at Jess's house....and it's good for the boys to have a pet.

Es,
If you feel as tho you should restart WW, that's great. Having a buddy would be a good thing, but if she laments and moans about how heavy she is, and she really isn't, then she is definitely doing a number on you. I've been there too many times.
And, you are so right about the chocolate!! I cannot even have it in the house. Period. That was one of the things I went crazy on for the holidays...all the different chocolates.

Today I found Klondike 98% fat free ice cream sandwiches...similar to skinnycow but much less $$. Will let you know how they are. We love ice cream  I bought Joe an ice cream maker for Christmas, thinking we could make low fat/healthy frozen stuff.

The memorial service for our friend Deb is Friday, they're not having a wake nor a funeral. She was single, her family is making the arrangements. Joe is doing okay; they had a wonderful friendship, I'm glad he visited her a few times during her hospital stays.

Got out and walked today, it was so nice out.....also tried turkey Italian sausage for the first time, and I was not grossed out! That's a good thing....I'm not much of a meat eater, and was happy to find something I liked.

I am very happy with WW Online. I didn't connect with the people at the meetings...and felt like the odd man out in most of them. This way I can go online any time of the day or night and get motivational stuff, read threads, etc.

later,
~Jen

Goodmorning:)

See, I knew this week would go by very fast. It's Thursday already. This is where my weekend starts,:)

Jen, so sorry about Joe's friend. My oldest brother died of cancer/aids & he died in a matter of a couple of months after he told me in Dec. 1988. He died May 88'. Very sad. She's in heaven now. No more suffering. I'm seriously thinking about the online WW again. I think that's why I was debating whether or not to go back to meetings is because I don't care for them. Never did. You always find a whiner in the group. You know what I hate about the woman at work? When we would go shopping on our lunch hour she would pick something a size 12 & say this is huge!! Now come on, she must have known that was my size back then cause I'm bigger now. I stopped going with her. I'm not going to let anybody make me feel worse about my weight than I already do.

Talk to you's later.
Have to get ready for work.

Hasta luego.

Love,
Es

Hi everyone,
The family got home safely last night. Ellen was so cute because she had obviously been sleeping on the plane and looked very sleepy:yawn: SHe insisted I sit in the back seat with her on the way home from the airport, so we could snuggle:hug:
WI this morning was good. I lost 3 lbs :cp: I think it might have been more if it weren;t my TOM.

Es,
I am not sure that dieting with the points police lady is a good idea. The last time you 2 tried it, she just annoyed you. None of us need more :stress: -- Just my 2 cents worth.

This week went by so fast. I can't believe that it is Thur already. I have so much to do this weekend.

Jen,
I am very interested in the Klondike experiment. Keep us posted....

Take care all,
Janie

Happy Thursday everyone  It's almost Friday...woo hoo. Being sick for a week, I lost my weekend last week. So I have so much to catch up on here with housework.

Janie ~ Woo Hoo  WTG!! 3 pounds gone forever!!

Es ~ I think I have to agree with Janie....last time you and the "points police" were hooked up, you were so frustrated with her. Oh, I'm feeling so much better ~ thanks so much for asking.

Jen ~ I'm so sorry about Joe's friend. So young, such a shame. 98% fat free klondikes...I am going to look for those. Are they 2 pts like the skinny cows?

Terri ~ thanks for the pep talk. I needed it. It's been about 17 weeks now, just over 4 months, and I am really wanting that double cheeseburger. Greg will be out of town in 2 weeks from now so I think I'll plan for a Burger King double cheeseburger (13 pts) and a small order of fries (5 pts) for dinner. That will leave me 7 pts left over so I will plan ahead and have a very light breakfast and lunch. :D I can't wait.

LeeAnn ~ you may be right about the greasey food but I just have to try it.

Dianne ~ where you at girl? Hope all is well.

Hope I didn't miss anyone. Time to relax....Have a great Friday tomorrow and I'll talk to you's guys soon.

Jen,
Yes, let us know about the Klondike Bar. Sounds so good. Those are Brandon's favorite and he will love to be able to have them again. Yes, it was amazing that he came on Halloween. It made the paper. So cute.
I am glad you like on-line. I love it. Maybe we can connect on there once in awhile. I am glad Joe is handling your friend's death. That is so sad.
I never tried the Turkey It. sausage but I do love the Turkey Kielbasa. Who'd a thunk?

Es,
Good job. Do not let anyone make you feel bad. You are a wonderful person and there is only of you in this world. Pete and Dave think there is no one like you. Here I go sounding like Dr. Phil. But it is all true.
Don't give the WW Police too much leeway. Size 12 to huge? PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Zoe,
"Weigh" to go on the planning. Now I bet the cravings have subsided a little. It is so nice to know that we can eat these things once in a while without guilt.

Janie,
CONGRATS on your loss. That is great! Glad that Steve and Ellen got home ok.

Dr. Phil said something the other day.
He told a 200 pound woman, who wants to make 2003 her year to lose weight, that she needs to set goals but they have to be goals that she can control, calories in, and the outgo. Not the scale numbers because you cannot control that. Depending on those numbers for validation can set you up for failure. He said the numbers, especially if they show fluctuation, can set a person off.

Well off to bed. Bruce got home safely. Feel better now!!!!

I GOT THIS FROM A NEWSLETTER THAT I SUBSCRIBE TO.

Isn't it great to begin a fresh, New Year? I love it! It's like starting the first day of school with a fresh new notebook and sharpened pencils. Any mistakes made in the last notebook and buried away in the trash can and we have this new beginning.

No New Years Resolutions for us - only NEW DAYS! Each day stand in front of the mirror and say to yourself - I WILL KEEP MY JOURNAL AND STAY WITHIN POINTS TODAY! You CAN do that but, remember, do it each day and then KEEP YOUR PROMISE TO YOURSELF and follow these ten tips that people who have lost over 100 pounds say are their keys to success.

1. HAVE A PLAN FOR LOSING WEIGHT AND KEEPING IF OFF AND CONTINUE TO FOLLOW IT. Well, we've got that! All you have to do is come to meetings (wow - it was nice seeing a bunch of old faces this week at meetings!)keep your journal and stay within points!!!

2. Be patient and willing to accept progress that comes slowly. Average weight loss is 1/2 to 2 pounds a week! You didn't put it on overnight (although it sometimes seems that way) and you won't take it off overnight - but you will take it off!

3. PAY ACTIVE ATTENTION TO YOUR EATING. No more nibbling and not tasting. If it's good enough to eat it's good enough to sit down and enjoy (after, of course, you've written it down).

4. Eat low fat but varied and interesting foods. View yourself as making better food choices rather than dieting. We all know diets don't work - that hasn't changed. We've all been there, done that! The only sensible way to lose weight is watch those points and portions.

5. ENGAGE IN REGULAR PHYSICAL ACTIVITY. At least 20 minutes a day and try to head more toward 60 minutes (or 10,000 steps a day on your pedometer).

6. Do not eat food to relieve feelings of stress. Ninety percent of overweight people eat to relieve moods! Exercise works better.

7. KEEP LOGS OF EXERCISE AND DIARIES OF FOOD. Write down every day how much you exercise. Turn each 15 minutes into a mile and see how far you can walk this year. I did 800 miles my first year.

8. Recover quickly when you have a lapse. That doesn't mean go over points on Tuesday and go back on program the next week - it means the next meal! You can't do too much damage in one meal!

9. ASK FOR SUPPORT FROM THOSE AROUND THEM. That's what meetings are for. Sit next to someone and ask them how their week was. It just takes one "aha" at a meeting to make it worth while and it may not come from your leader but from another member (can't happen if you don't talk to them though).

10. Believe in and take care of yourself. I DO!!! Believe in YOU, that is!

This is your year. Don't let anything or anyone stand in your way of success. Next year at this time you can be at your goal weight!!! May as well do it, huh? Go out and buy that Christmas outfit for Christmas 2003 in the size you're going to be. Have confidence in yourself.

Have a great Friday.

Hi:wave:

Terri, what newsletter is that from? I needed to read it. It couldn't come at a better time. Thanks for everything. You've always been my mentor.

Jen, we've been eating turkey sausage for a very long time now. Isn't it good?

Janie, Ellen sounds so cute. Great loss!!! I'm dancing for you. :dancer: Send some motivation my way.

I'm going to take everybody's advice on the Points Policewoman. I'll do it on my own & the support I get here is more than enough.

Let me go check out WW site for awhile. Maybe I'll rejoin online to give it one more try. Everybody that's joined loves it so I know it was me.

Till later.

Oh, is everybody going to be home tonight? Maybe we could meet in the chat room. Let me know okay?

Hugs,

hi everyone,
Wow I got hit with a flu bug or something and have been sleeping for 2 days, with chills and fever, coughing, sore throat. I haven't been this sick in a long time.

Janie,
glad Ellen and Steve are home safely. Congrats on the loss, that's great :D

Sorry I haven't posted in awhile. I got very busy at work, and couldn't check on the thread like I normally do. The temptation to "just take a couple of minutes" was really great, but we're under a deadline to get some things done and I would have felt guilty. WI was Thursday and I'm down 3.5. Am finally staying within my range. Got in 40 minutes of walking today. It really felt good to get the blood pumping.

JanieD – Glad to meet you. I have to agree that the best part of WW is that each day is a new day and a chance to do better. And congrats on the 3 down! Doing a happy dance for you!

Zoe – I know what you mean about just having to try it even if it turns out to be not what you remembered.

Hope everyone had a super day. I'm off to do more programming (only two more classes, only two more classes, only two more. . .). Have a great evening!

Leeann, 3.5 loss :cb: :cp: and walking too you are really on a roll. Congrats. ;) Were you the one that asked about pasteles? They are so good. It's a spanish dish, made of plaintains, yuca, with meat inside. Some put chicken but mostly pork. There's other ingredients but I can't remember. Dianne could tell you. I'm Puerto Rican & Cuban by the way. So, every now & then I throw in a little spanish.

Okay Terri, where are you getting all these cute gif's? They are too cute. Do tell. Pleassssssssssse.

Awwwww Jen, I thought you were MIA from this threads so I went looking for you at WW online. Hope you feel better real soon.

I haven't done my Firm Body Sculpt tape in a while so I decided to do it yesterday. I think every bone in my body cracked!!!! I need to get back to weights real quick.:strong: Maybe that's why I was so tired!

Janie, we'll plan it again. What's a good time for you on Saturdays? I know weekends are busy but maybe later.

Okay Girls, enjoy this lovely day. It's very cold here today but I don't mind. I like winter. Nuts huh?

Good Morning everyone

I just got home from WW and I have to tackle my Christmas decorations. I have been so sick since New Years and Greg too, that they are still up. I am so tired of looking at them so this weekend, I hope to get them all put away. I am going to organize them a little better so I may have to finish up next weekend. We'll see......

I lost another 2 lbs this week for a total of 35.8 lbs. Woo Hoo!!

As for the chat, I'm central time so I'm 1 hour earlier than you on the east coast. I'm bad at remembering so if y'all come up with a definate day and time, just be sure to post it so I can see it in print. :^:

Sorry I can't address everyone. I really have to get started on this work. Have a wonderful Saturday afternoon. Talk to you's guys later.

Zoe,

Hi ladies,

How is everyone? I thought I would sneak in and say hello, I need to go back and read the post for the last few weeks.

School starts tomorrow. I'm hoping that once I get back into the school schedule I can get motivated to do something about making a change. I've really been down lately and just haven't felt very positive, one reason for the long absence.

Hope everyone had a good weekend. I'll check in with you tomorrow.

Terri, Jen, & Leeann,
COngrats to all of you! What great losses! I've Been doing well this week. Went over 1 pt yesterday but I had some exercise pts which I ususally try not to use. Walked at lunch and went to aerobics class. If it doesn't rain Today I plan to walk again at lunch with my walking buddies. We must look pretty rediculous. Theres this old guy Allen (he looks like a tall ALbert EInstein with a limp), Keith who is mid 50s, myself, and this young Indian guy, Bala(who is 4 inches shorter than me). We don't all walk everyday but since there are 4 of us there is usually at least 1 other to walk with everyday. It is great because we have become pretty good friends in the process. We have dynamic discussions and solve all of the problems of the world

RUth,
I hope that getting back to your scholastic routine gets you out of your slump. Good luck this semester. Steve started classes yesterday also. He has a good teaching schedule this semester. Classes are Mon Wed Fri and he only has 1 night class YEA!!!

having a group of buddies to walk with is so cool! Sounds like you're doing well :)

LeAnn,
Way to go on the walking! Good thing you can do it indoors, considering the weather.

Terri,
funny you mentioned girl scout cookies....the day I began Online my neighbor came over with his daughter's order sheet  We'll have 3 boxes coming here soon, how can one say "no" to g.s. cookies? ! I've got to look up their points and plan them for evening treats.

Es,
no, I won't say I've heard the click...am taking it not one day, or one meal, but one minute at a time, literally, and thinking positive.

I haven't done any exercising since I became ill last Thursday, and now it's way too cold to walk outside (they're predicting temp. of 0 tonight). I'll do the WATP walking tomorrow if I feel up to it. Earning those extra points is nice, even if I don't use them, I know they're there.

Hi:wave:

Jen, glad to hear you're pretty much over that nasty cold. You should exercise only when you feel up to it. Set a target date. That has always worked for me. ;)

Terri, I didn't know Girl Scout cookies were out already. I guess my SIL is dying for me to come over so I could buy from my niece. My weakness.<sigh>

Janie, WTG with your walking crew! At work we had started one but as the weeks went by it became less & less people till we were down to two, Points Woman & me. We stopped.

Zoe, weren't you going to a gym? When is your cruise?
I love your Jesus under your name. Our God Is an Awesome God. Do you know that song? Gives me chills everytime we sing it in worship.

please try to get the puter fixed! I'd miss seeing you here each day. You were right about setting a target date to resume exercising. I'm still tired, but less each day. I'm aiming for Friday.

We're having a new mattress set delivered tomorrow for Joey's old room, which I'm FINALLY converting into a guest room. I bought a blue/white floral comforter set, and am painting an old desk and bookcase white. I'm surprising Jessica with it; they're spending the weekend here and it'll be the first time they'll have the privacy of a room, rather than bunking down in the office or living room. Even bought chocolates to put on the pillows  she'll get a kick out of it.

Keeping my fingers crossed that you won't be gone long and your computer is fixable. :crossed: Enjoy your long weekend!

I've got to eat my words....went to the mattress retailer, they bent over backwards to apologize and satisfy me: I'm getting the next grade up in a mattress set for the same price :D with the absolute promise that it'll be delivered tomorrow. Jess may get her surprise after all.

This week is proving to be the most difficult yet...I've been craving carbs and using most of my points on them. I've got to concentrate on veggies and more protein for the remainder of the week. I'm thinking that the lack of exercise is not helping, I don't feel as motivated.

Very good self control. The way I handle it is, Steve and I like totally different kinds of cookies. I just buy the kind that he likes and then I'm not tempted.

Everyone,

Great loss. You go! I would love a picture of this herd.
I'll bet y'all look great!!!!

We are getting into the 20's here.
Southern Tenn. is getting about 3" of snow and all we have is rain thus far. They expect freezing rain and snow (maybe 1" by the morning) and this place is shutting down. It is so weird cause I am from Ohio and have seen so much worse. I heard that Huntsville only has 6 trucks and they only have enough salt etc... for main roads. They can't keep the upkeep and all the salt when this only happens once every winter. Madison probably has 1 lonely little man going on the main road here.

Hi Everybody. Hope everyone is OK!!!!!!!

YIKES!!! I just wrote a novel and when I went to add a gif, I lost the whole thing!

Anyway, helllllllllllllllo my buddies! Sorry I've been missing in action, but there's a couple of reasons for it - 1) Its been soooooooo busy at work that by the time I get home, eat and shower, I'm ready to hit the bed and 2) my darling daughter is still home from college and when she's not talking to Casey on the phone, she's "talking" to him on the computer! Ain't love grand??:p

I've gotta catch up on tons of posts, so if I miss replying to someone, please forgive me - I love you's all;) First I'd like to congratulate all the losers - great job guys and second I'd like to congulate everyone else who's "hanging in there" - that is soooooooo important and you need to be proud of that!

As for me and willie, last thursday was our first wi since we started and I lost 3 lbs. Poor willie didn't lose anything, but he admitted that because of running from site to site on his job, he wasn't drinking the water like he should have been, so, maybe that's the reason. Today, I lost 1 lb, so that's a total of 4 lbs for me - not too shabby, I'll take it! Willie and Alana have both been sick so I don't think he's been OP this week and when I left this morning for work, I didn't remind him to wi. Anyway, we are doing okay, but I really think we need to get started with the walking tapes, since its tooooooooo cold to walk here.

We are trying to get a ww meeting going here at the University, but we have 19 people and they insist on 20. So, we're trying to rope 1 more person in. I think it will help me alot since it will be so convenient.

Jen - Sorry you weren't feeling well, and hope you're doing better. So cool about the mattress. Jess will love her new guest room.

Es - Sorry your computer is down and hope it gets fixed real fast. I will miss you, but you must know by now you are totally "unforgettable" to us - we love ya! :grouphug:

ZoeGirl - You are doing so fantastic :bravo: You are my hero girl!

Janie - too funny about your "herd" of walking buddies - great job!

Hi to Ruth (are you okay? I think I missed your post somehow), Sandy, LeeAnn and Cindy - Hope everyone's doing well.

Weigh to go, Dianne! You've had 2 good weeks :D Sorry Willie didn't lose, was he taking meds? I think cough syrups are loaded w/pts. cause of the sugar, don't you?

Terri,
Hope everyone is safe and sound by you, not out on icey roads. It seems like old hat to us, but people down South freak when they get the snow and ice. We've had an unusually small amount of snow thus far this winter....none on the ground now. It doesn't seem like January, except for the temps of 0 at nite!

Looks like the snow will pass by but we will be in the single digits. I am going to have 3 mad kids in the morning. I really don't think it will snow. They are counting on it.

Hello and happy TGIF!!!

Another busy weekend approaches and I am SO looking forward to it. Greg is out of town again and I have the job of narrowing our house search down to either 2 or possibly 1. It's fun but I get a little confused after looking at so many. And building can be stressful once the decision is made.

We leave for our cruise 3 weeks from tomorrow. I'm nervous because I'm NOT going to not eat. After doing so well, I think I will treat the food/eating differently but not avoid it all together. My goal is to be in the 150's (158 to be exact, I hope) by then. Since that's almost 6 lbs, it just may be impossible and I wasn't 100% this week so we'll see tomorrow morning.

Dianne ~ Good goin' on that loss! You're on a roll girl! Sorry that Willie maintained but I hope he knows that that is better than going up, right?? :)

Terri ~ be careful on the roads and stay warm. We had snow here last Sunday. It was amazing! Us here in TX don't usually see that white stuff and it brought back memories of when I lived in NY state......YUK!

Es ~ hope you get your computer fixed while you have all those days off. But if not, we'll keep saying hi to ya anyway. :D

Janie ~ oh no, never say "only"....1 pound is good. Remember me, doing so well?? I "only" lost "point 4" a few weeks ago but heck, it's a loss, right? Keep up the great work!

Jen ~ I'm glad that the mattress thing worked out. It's so annoying to be planning on some kind of furniture delivery, only to have them change it on you. Glad that it's worked out.

Hi to the rest. Gotta run. I want to get this day done and start the weekend. :) Talk to you's guys later.

Terri,
The death penalty is definitely a hot topic here....former Governor Ryan is either loved or hated right now, depending on who you speak to. He originally was to appear on Oprah on Wednesday, but they had him return for Thursday's show also. I caught most of both shows, and am still sorting it out.

Zoe,
So close to your cruise! I am confident you will do great with your food choices. The gif below is for you :D

What a difference each aspect of the WW Program makes....water, points, journalling and exercise...easy, right? Not getting in the waters each day makes a huge difference in terms of appetite, which I was painfully reminded of this week. Besides going overboard on the carbs, I was not concentrating on the H2O either. Was already letting myself get lazy and said, "oh, I'll drink my waters tomorrow for sure" (shades of Scarlett). So.....today I'll be making frequent potty trips while I guzzle

Hope everyone has a great Friday night. Joe is attending a fishing/sports show w/my brother; I've got my monthly volunteer citizen's patrol night.

Had a meeting this morning with my boss and I was kind of nervous because I didn't feel very well prepared. I think it went OK though. AS most meetings go, I came out of it with more work than I went in with. I may come in for a few hours on Monday even though it;s a holiday, to catch up some.

Hope everyone has a great Weekend. mine is turning out to be a busy one. Nag Steve to put the holiday boxes up in the garage, a wedding, quilting group at church, just for a start.

I'm baaaaccccckkkkkk! :D

What an ordeal! I don't know what got into me the other night but I decided to delete stuff I didn't need. I must have deleted something I wasn't suppose to & there went Windows:yikes:

My brother offered to help me with it & spent 2 hours trying then finally he got it up & running. David couldn't do it cause he's been having car problems. Anyway, I don't have Optimum Online running yet but at least AOL gave me 2 free months. I love AOL but it would cost too much to keep both.

Congrats to all who lost. Great job.

Zoe, you're very close to goal. That's great. I still can't get over how fast you lost. I've never been on a cruise but I heard of all the good food they have. I would have a BIG problem not having the desserts. You're going to enjoy yourself. Get back on track when you get back, WITH EXERCISE.;)

Jen, water is so important. I drink it all day long. I do pee alot but I can't be without it. I even keep a water bottle by my night table at night. I can't be without carbs either. That's why a high protein diet wouldn't work for me.

Amiga, way to go with the 4 lb. loss:cp: Willie will probably do better next week.

Janie, sounds like a busy fun weekend. Enjoy it! I felt very frustrated not being able to get online. I really missed it. Especially in the evening cause that's when I spend my time on it. I missed you all. What did I do when I didn't have one? Pete says I worked out more & he's right.

I just finished chatting with Ruth. It was nice. She's been very busy with school. I miss her. :(

Terri, what ever happened to Myra? Do you still keep in touch? If you do give her my regards. Have you seen any good movies lately. Someone gave me movie tickets for Christmas. I rented the stupidest movie called Fear.com. Dum! Don't bother renting it. Say hi to Brit.

Well ladies, since I've been without my PC for days I have alot of catching up to do.

Have a great weekend.

Love,
Es

PS when my computer went down I lost all my GIF's. Do you have a website where I can get some nice ones?

Hi guys:

Es - so glad your computer is working again -- did your brother just have to reload your windows disk?

Jen - I meant to ask you - you mentioned klondike bars a while back? Were they good? Do you know how many points they are?

Zoe - You must be getting excited about the cruise! Where are you going again? Don't worry so much about the food, that you don't enjoy yourself. You've done so well, one week isn't going to make that much difference. Plus, I don't know which ship you'll be on but on the cruise I took in September, there was a walking/jogging track on board, plus of course, the pools, volleyball, ping-pong etc. So, if you feel you overate, you could go walking. You will have a great time!

Janie - Sounds like a really busy weekend. Don't knock yourself out at work on Monday - the work's always gonna be there! :s:

Terri - thanks for the pointer on copying a long post before attaching the gif. Speaking of gifs, where have you been getting all the great one's you are now using??? C'mon, share:lol:

Well, found out today that we do have 20 people for the ww meetings, so we'll start next Thursday - can't wait!

Well, getting sleepy, so I'll check in with you's guys over the weekend.

Hi Ruth, Lee Ann, Sandy and Cindy

Good Saturday morning everyone ~

I'm up and getting ready for my day. And what a day it's going to be! I have so much to do but really, it's mostly fun stuff. The house will be cleaned while I'm gone.....yippee!!

Dianne ~ Not sure if I misses something ~ are you talking about having WW at work? I really loved that when we had it but we couldn't find 20 people. Oh, we sure HAD 20 that needed to lose some weight but not many who could afford to put out the money up front. I'm so glad that you'll be starting Thursday. My cruise is from Galveston to Key West, Belize, Cozumel.....I'm so excited. We've been on quite a few cruises before but not in the last 10 or so years. I'm not going to worry about the food. Whatever I gain while I'm gone, will come right off when I get back. I leave 2/9 for 7 days.

Es ~ I am SO not going to miss the desserts on this vacation!!

Janie ~ ha....we ALWAYS come away from meetings with MORE work than we had when we went in. Hopefully, you'll stay ahead of it all.

Jen ~ Thanks for that gif sweetie. I sure would love to look like that. :)

Terri ~ We have a customer in your area that had only 1 person show up yesterday due to the weather. I hope all is well there and you're warm and safe.

I hope everyone has a great Saturday. I'm off to get ready to have my bi-weekly nail appt and then to WW. Talk to you's guy's later.

Love you all,
Patti and Zoe :D

Happy Saturday,

Dianne, my brother had to reinstall windows with a starter disk. He had a very hard time but I knew he could do it. He's a computer wiz & so is David but David couldn't get here till the weekend. I couldn't wait that long. I'm hooked to the internet. I must have missed the post about WW at work too. I would love that but nobody wants to. They like high protein diets. Check out www.Zumba.com

Zoe, Dianne has a good point. Exercise if you can, on the ship. Even if it's a 20 minute walk. My sister is going on another cruise in October, to Costa Rica, Panama Canal & Aruba for 12 days.

I lost 1.5 this week. I was reading a post on WW board of something called the CJ plan. Someone is copying the Wendi Plan. I'm just sticking to the right way. When you try something else it starts getting too complicated.

Have a wonderful Saturday.
Be back later:wave:

Morning,

ES, I really enjoyed talking to you yesterday. Thanks for taking the time to say hello. Glad that you weren't without your computer for too long. Those withdrawals can really be tuff!! LOL CONGRATS on the 1.5 pounds lost! That is great! I've heard of the Wendi plan. I think it works pretty well. I didn't intentionally follow it, but occasionally I would eat that way, those weeks when I varied my points real high one day and then lower the next few days, I seemed to lose better.

ZOE, 6 lbs is possible, you still have 3 weeks or so before you leave!! I didn't realize it had snowed last week in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. Guess that shows not only haven't I been coming online very much, I haven't been watching the NEWS either. Since most of our weather comes from the west, we get reports on your weather. Guess I've been in LALA land!!

TERRI, Missed your post on your weather, guess I need to go farther back in thread. Please be careful.

DIANNE, Congrats on the losses. I'm still trying to get motivated. Wish someone would bottle and sell it!!! Oh well, I'll hang in there until I do. Have you been in the new chat room. I went in there once since it's been up and running. I glad it's back I need to check in there more often.

JEN, are you taking any courses this semester. Three out of four of my courses involve writing. Should be an easy semester, just going to be busy doing research!! YUK Oh, did the mattress get there in time for Jessica's visit? My youngest daughter and her two little girls have been staying with us for a few days. I bought an air mattress for the living room floor. I wish I had room for a guest room with a full size bed. My grandson has the smallest bedroom during the week and I've turned the other bedroom (her old one) into my computer room. I need a biggggg house. Maybe by the time I get my degree I will be able to afford one!!

JANIE, thanks for the welcome back. Sometimes the right routine can help you get motivated. I really think this semester may be one of those. The courses I'm taking aren't too stressful. For the most part, I do have a speech class. That may be nerve racking. Anyway my schedule is light. Tuesdays and Fridays, I only have one class at 9:00 am so I have the rest of the day to study, shop or whatever I need to do. Maybe I'll start spending some of that time WALKING!

GUESS WHAT!! I just went into the kitchen and poured me a "LARGE" glass of water. Today is a new day and I'm going to put my best foot forward. Wish me luck.

Well, I'm better start catching up on my reading for school. Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Wow! We seem busy now.

Es,
Congrats to you girl. That is a great loss. Keep it going.
I'll have to try to find the CJ plan. Which board or thread rather is it under?
Yes, Myra is in my groups and she is very busy. She probably needed to cut down.
I am so glad your PC is working again.
I rented the Royal Tannebaums. Have you seen it? I watched the Princess Diaries last night with Brittany because her new crush is Erik VonDenton. She is so funny. We also rented Zoolander. I have seen it before, Brandon wants to see it, it is goofy but fun. Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson do have some good lines.

Ruth,
Go for it Ruth. I know you can do it.

Zoe,
Have fun. You might gain a few but that will come off in a week. Usually if you gain fast you lose it fast as long as you start back full force right away. If you walk and stuff you might maintain or actually lose. I know you will be more aware of everything and will do better than you think.

Dianne,
I have them stored in a folder. I copy and paste anything I find. I haven't been on a gif site in a long time. I found a bunch on this one though:
http://www.animationlibrary.com/a-l/
Hope you get that 20.

Janie,
I hope it went well with your boss. That has to be nerve racking.
Have fun this weekend. Busy, Busy!!!

Jen,
Limiting my carbs is the only way for me. I still enjoy them but I save my junky carbs for Sat. that way I don't feel deprived. I eat within banked points (If I need the banked points) on Sat. (weigh-in day) but it is usually not a nutritional day to say the least but it is a fun day. If I do it this way I don't mind at all the nutritional stuff I eat all week. I don't get antsy.
Those Oprah shows were wild. I'll bet it is crazy up there.

Bruce and Bradley are going to the McWayne Science center to camp out tonight for Cub Scouts. Brandon is going to a party.
Britts and I are going to have a fun time watching movies and hibernating in this cold. I will also read by the fire. LOVE these lazy days.

TTYL,
Terri

WOW did I have a lot of reading to do here this morning!!!

The guest room looks great, well, the bed does anyway. I haven't refinished any of the furniture yet, will wait till the weather breaks...we're talking May  I know Jess will be happy to sleep in a bed.
We have a 3 bedroom ranch: our room, the office/puter room, and now the guest/toy room. The boys' toys have grown from 2 totes to include 2 additional boxes and freestanding toys (fisher price garages, tonka trucks, etc.) so Jess and Mike will have to go thru and take home some of them this weekend. Waaay too much stuff here!

Es,
WEIGH TO GO ON THE LOSS! Whatever plan works for you, that's great. I can't even remember what we did before computers  Joe will watch just about anything on tv, so that's how he spends his evenings, while I'm in here on the puter. Being able to keep in touch with so many friends and relatives via email is wonderful, not to mention the online games. I'm addicted to Literati on yahoo.

Terri,
The Royal Tannembaums was good....different, but I liked it. I can see why you like Online...the banking feature is a great tool. When I was journalling on paper, I never banked points. I'm glad to hear Myra is doing well.

Dianne,
so cool that you got your group of 20! You'll have the advantage of having already been OP to start. Good luck! The Klondike bars are 6 to a box...called "Slim-A-Bear" 98% fat free bars...only $2.98 a box......VERY good and only 2 points apiece! I bought the combo box...3 chocolate and 3 vanilla. I prefer them over the Skinny Cow.

Ruth,
I'm not taking a class this semester, mainly because I don't know wht I want to take. I am undecided about pursuing a degree...am really in limbo about it all. Will definitely take something in the fall. Sounds like your semester will give you a chance to catch your breath. Way to go on the water, keep it up!

Zoe,
your cruise sounds wonderful. And there's no way you will do that much damage in a week.

HI to Janie, Sandy, Cindy, LeeAnn.....

Good Monday morning, everyone!

Today is my weigh-in day.....I lost another 2 pounds :dancer: which puts my total at 8 :D The weekend did pose some challenges, as when the family gets together we have lots of snacks and big meals. I used up my bank of 5 points and didn't go over. That was a big accomplishment for me :D

will be back later!

Mornin' everyone:

Es - congrats on the 1.5 loss, mi amiga, great start!!! :dancer: Yes I had posted that we were trying to get ww to come to the University, but we only had 19 people and they had to have 20. Well, we finally got the 20th person on Thursday and so we will have our first meeting this coming Thursday. I'm excited about it, because it will be so convenient to have these meetings on-site and with co-workers. I think we can help each other out. 2 of the women are in my own office, so that's cool.

Jen - congrats on the 2lbs loss :cb: :dancer: And especially on not going over this weekend. The weekends are really hard, I know. Thanks for the info on the klondike bars - I will try to get them this week. I love skinny cows, but they are expensive. Glad the room turned out nice.

ZoeGirl - How was your weekend? Your trip sounds great. I enjoyed cozumel - we went on the paradise island/beach tour, which was really fun, but too short. Then we shopped in cozumel and i'm sure you know there are people there selling everything and they quite forcibly sometimes, invite you into their stores. But you can get some great bargains there too.

Terri - Willie and I saw two movies this weekend - I wanted to see About Schmidt with Jack Nicholson, but it was sold out when we got there, so we wound up seeing Chicago, which was great. We really enjoyed it. It was cool to see these actors sing and dance, which you're not used to seeing them do. We also saw Narc with Ray Liotta - it was good too, he's a good actor.

Ruth - it was good chatting with you the other day. I wish we could all set a date and time and get together - it would be fun.

Hi Janie, LeeAnn, Sandy and Cindy - hope you guys are doing well.

Well, just chillin' at home today - watched the golden globes last night, but had taped them, since we would'nt be home for the first hour. OMG, did you guys see that "tutu" thingy Lara Flynn Boyle wore? Holy Moly, who dressed her??? Maybe she doesn't have a mirror at home! I thought she looked ridulous, almost as ridulous as the singer a couple of years ago who wore a "swan" dress:lol:

Gotta do some laundry, but I'm feeling sooooooooo lazy. Have bowling tonight so that should perk me up a bit.

Hope you all have a great day - talk to you's soon.

Hugs,
Dianne

Hi:wave:

Dianne, Pete wanted to go to the movies this weekend but he wanted to go see Gangs of NY. I wasn't in the mood to go out so we stayed home. I watched very little of the awards. I should have taped it.

Jen, I'm telling you, you are on a roll girl! Good for you! Joining WW Online really motviated you. ;) I'm happy to hear your guest room came out great.

Terri, did you find the CJ plan? If not I saved it in my favorites.

How is everybody else doing? I ran a few errands today now I'm just relaxing. Back to work tomorrow but I don't mind cause it's a short week.

Dave is on his way so let me say hasta luego:wave:

Es,
yes, I do kind of feel like I'm on a roll...but am still afraid it's too early to tell...why do I feel as though I'm holding my breath? and does that even make sense? I began exercising again today, with the 1 mile WATP tape, and feel peppy! Hope you're enjoying your long weekend :D

Dianne,
I didn't catch the awards last night, saw some great clips on the local news this a.m.....Jack Nicholson making a joke about serving Irishmen free drinks, while he was sounding plotzed! A friend of mine saw Chicago and liked it also. We never go to the show, I get too antsy sitting for that long without a break. There are so many good movies out now, I can't wait for them to come out on dvd. have fun bowling!

Terri,
that animation site is great, better than the ones I've found. thanks!

Hi everyone, happy Tuesday,

Did those of you with Monday off enjoy your day? I always enjoy not having to attend classes.

I have one class this morning, then I need to go to the library to do some research. I plan to use some of my topics for English and Speech class. Haven't figured out if that is being smart or lazy, oh well!!
I'm not totally opt, but I'm doing much better. I've been drinking my water and yesterday I actually spent 20 minutes on the treadmill. I've been having a problem with my hip hurting, so I took it really slow. I was so proud of myself. I'm not really concentrating on the food quantity, but I am trying to make better food choices for now. My game plan is to take this one day at a time.

JEN, I don't go into the chat room very often. I've been in once since they added chat back to the web site. I know you changed your online service provider, do you have MSN Messenger or any other instant messenger. I've been able to talk to Es and Dianne on the IM for AOL and compuserve. It would be great though if we all could try to meet in the chat room one evening. Someone set a time and I'll try to be there. Also, good luck on being opt. I understand about the holding your breath part. That is exactly how I feel. In a way, it's as if I'm expecting myself to mess up. Hang in there girl.

ES, I thought I was going to say hello to you yesterday, it was your son. Was he working on your computer?

DIANNE, I enjoyed talking with you also. As I said before if someone will set a time, we could try to meet in the chat room sometime.

CONGRATS to all of you that have been losing and to those who have started losing. Hopefully I will be adding my numbers to the board soon.

Well, grandson needs breakfast and I have early class so I better run. See you later.

Good Tuesday Morning everyone.....I'm ready for work and I'm early!! WoW, an unusual event. Just taking a moment to write a quick note hello ~

Our house huntingis over ~ we finally made a decision...and bought! It's a 3800 sf home, 2 floors with a gameroom and Greg got his way, a media room. I'm pretty excited though. We decided on an "inventory home" so we do not have to wait for it to be built. It's ready NOW! They said it could be about 2 weeks but you know how paperwork goes....and with vacation only 2 1/2 weeks away, I just don't think we can fit it in before that. So my guess is the end of Feb. I went last night and took pictures. :D

I apologize for not addressing anyone today. I thought I had more time than I do. I suppose I wasn't all that early after all. I will talk to you's guys later....have a blessed day.

I want to see Chicago. Maybe this weekend.

Jen, Congrats on the loss. YAY!!!!!!!!! :cb:
Staying within points with family there is great. What a feat!!!!!!!!!! Did your daughter like her bed?

Es,
Please send me the address for the CJ plan. I am always interested in new plans. THANKS!!!!

Zoe,
Congrats on the house. It sounds great and BIG.

I have IM and I need to start turning it on. I would love to chat sometime with y'all.

We had a good relaxing weekend. We got pizza Sunday night and I ate 1 piece. Felt good. I savored it. I hate the bloated feeling after eating a lot of it. Kids are back in school. I miss the little buggers.

Hello All!

I know I've dropped out of sight for awhile, but lots has been going on. Only one more programming class, need to get the final project finished for it, my aunt is going into assisted living, I need to pack up her things, then clean out her house (was my grandma's house an still has a bunch of her stuff in it plus my aunt's stuff). Lots of work ahead of me. I'm buying her house (1st house for me), so I'll also have to pack my stuff up and clean the apt. when I leave. I start a second class this week, and continue with the original bachelor's program. I'm going to be more than a little busy.

I need to go back a read the posts that I've missed. I missed "talking" to you guys, but every time I thought I had a little time, something else came up. Sure wish life would slow down a little. I'm starting to get dizzy!

I hope everyone is doing well. I'll post later after I've read the posts. Everyone have a super day!

LeeAnn, I don't think that I've met you. I've been posting here for awhile; however, I was AWOL during the time that you joined in. Anyway, I just wanted to say welcome and tell you a little bit about myself.

I'm a 44 year old mother of 2 grown daughters and a stepdaughter. I have 4 grandchildren ages 9, 4, 18 months & 13 months, with 2 more on the way. I've been married for 18 years, and consider myself lucky. I got a good one!! I'm a full time college student trying to get a bachelor degree in accounting.

Again, welcome, hope to see you soon.

Terri,
I don't think I've ever stopped at ONE piece of pizza in my life! Great job :D
We're not having anyone over for the Super Bowl;I'm planning on using a low points recipe from one of my WW cookbooks and making one from scratch for Joe and I. I've avoided it till now...I love pizza so needless to say I'm looking forward to it. :jeno:
Lara Flynn Boyle's looks were changed quite a bit by her wearing bangs...she's still way too thin in my opinion!
Jess gave me a big hug when she saw the room

LeeAnn,
Wow, you've got alot going on right now. Buying your first home is exciting...congrats!

Zoe,
Very cool about the house...you'll be busy after vacation!

Ruth,
I downloaded aol im when we switched over to dsl, but haven't used it yet; usually use yahoo messenger.
Hope your hip is not something serious. It's a good thing to focus on eating right, and getting in more water. One day at a time is all anyone can do.

Hi everyone,
A lot has happened since I was here last.
Two new homes, lots of lost pounds. I am very proud and excited for all of you!!!!

I didn't come into work yesterday, after all. I got a better offer. We went biking at a nature preserve along the bay. I felt like I was a kid again riding around the swamp (where I wasn't supposed to be). I grew up next to salt marshes on the south shore of LI. Yesterday we rode for over 3 hours. I loved every minute of it and would have kept going for another 3 hours if it weren't getting dark. (Of course my butt is pretty sore today  )

Things are still weird with my mom stuff :dizzy: It makes staying OP tough for me. I will just have to take it 1 day at a time.

Have a great Tue,

Hi:wave:

Lots of posts today.:)

Zoe, congrats on your new home. Homes here in LI are so expensive. I hope we can see pictures when you move in.

Ruth, David was downloading music for his father's MP3 player. I couldn't get to my computer.:( Finally when I was able to I was too tired.

Janie, sounds like you had a peaceful bike ride. WTG;) The only way I could stay OP is taking it one day at a time. If I think way ahead I get discouraged.

Jen, I love pizza too. I don't eat it cause it has too much cheese which is bad for my cholesterol. Pete loves it more than I do but he can't have it cause it's too high in carbs. We miss it. Enjoy every bite. :T

Terri, I'll email you with the address.

Leeann, I hope things slow down for you so you can be able to post more often. Congratulations on buying a home too. ;)

Okay my friends, gotta go eat. I rented Bourne Identity with Matt Damon. I heard it's very good. No exercise today.

Hope everyone is having a good afternoon. I just got up from a nap myself, after posting I'm going to get on treadmill. See, now I have to do it, because I've told ya'll I doing it!!!

ES, I understand being too tired, that's how I am sometime when I browse the site. I'll sit here and read the post then I lack the energy to write a reply. Are houses in LI expensive because there is a lack of construction and you are heavily populated there. My husband and I have jokingly talked of packing up and moving to California. Houses are high there also. In the town our friend lives in, what would looks to be a $40,000 home here (small) would be over a $100,000 there.

ZOE, Congrats on the house. Are you moving from where you are into one of the other suburbs? I have a cousin in Colleyville.

JANIE, the bicycle ride sounds wonderful I haven't road a bike in so long. My husband bought me one after we were married, I don't think I ever road it. Biggest reason was because I didn't have anyone to ride with.

JEN, how do you sign onto aol. I'd like to add you to my buddy list. I had you listed before you changed, but I don't think I have you on it now, if so, I haven't seen you online.

Better run, the treadmill is calling my name.

EXERCISE seems to be the word of the day :D is everyone doing it? I'm going to put in a video and begin after this post. It's very cold here, only 6 degrees, so walking outdoors is totally out of the question. I have a Denise Austin tape that I like, but have to skip some of it due to knee problems. Then I feel like I'm not getting the whole workout. So, I guess I'll do the WATP 1 mile. I'm not using the weights with it yet, when it becomes easy I'll add them.

I've been searching the WW site for low point soup recipes, found one for potato cheese soup...yummmm it sounds very good. This is definitely soup weather! Tomorrow's high is supposed to be 0  so I'm going out today to stock up on low point stuff. Am trying a bbq chicken and black bean pizza on Sunday. Can you tell I love looking at recipes and trying new ones?

Janie,
very cool and way to go on the long bike ride! I always loved riding, haven't owned a bike since I was a kid. That'd be something Joe and I could do together. He's tired after work and doesn't want to exercise, and I don't blame him. That would be fun. Hope your butt feels better ;)

hope everyone is having a great day.

Okay ladies, I DID IT! I walked 2.5 miles and burned 300 calories on my treadmill. Now the trick is to do it everyday! Anyway, just wanted to let everybody know that I'm trying really hard to get back on track. You're all doing so well, I didn't want to be left out in the COLD.

Talk later,
Ruth

LeeAnn,
You are going to be busy. It is hard enough just to do your own stuff. WOW!!! Congrats on the house.

Jen,
That is a good idea. I love homemade pizza. We were invited to a Super Bowl Party by couple Bruce works with but they are a little to snobby for me and they are HUGE Oakland fans and I hate Oakland. They have a nice TV but it is to small for a lot of people and I have a big screen with a few people. I am leaning toward not going. I told Bruce to go but I will stay and watch with Brandon (Football fan). Brittany watches for the commercials. There will be a new pepsi twist commercial during the Super Bowl and Ozzie is talking to Jack and Kelly Osbourne and they say it isn't pepsi it is Pepsi twist and they unzip themselves and Donny and Marie start singing "I'm a little bit country..." I can't wait to see it.

Janie,
Congrats on the bike ride. Sounds like such fun.

Thanks Es!

Ruth,
Did you see American Idol? I watched it. I missed the last one and I was very curious about Simon. It was fun.
I loved Kelly and Justin from last year. I caught a little of the last show. Great job walking on that treadmill. :bravo:

Ruth,
good job on the 2.5 miles!!!! :cp: I made a pledge to myself that I'd exercise 4 times a week...Mon, Wed, Fri, and one day on the weekend. It's nice having a break inbetween; actually I wasn't looking forward to it today till I read your and Es's posts ....made me get off my butt and now I feel great. Thanks for the shove.

Terri,
I don't like Oakland either, go Bucs! I watch it for the football AND the commercials  no potty breaks? The big screen is awesome for football, those tight ends...love the Bucs' uniform pants ;) oh, and it's great for cartoons too, isn't it? :D I don't blame you for wanting to stay home.

see you later,
~Jen

HI gals,
I have to tell you that I am in what the locals call "Raider Nation". Oakland fans are off the wall. There were riots after they won the championship last weekend . I hate to see what will happen if they win this weekend.
Since everyone is talking about exercise, I thought I'd mention that I went out with the wierd herd yesterday and am planning on doing the same today. We walk about 2 miles.

Hi Girls:wave:

I tried to connect to the internet from work but it wouldn't go thru.

Ruth, that's okay. There have been many days that I set out to exercise & get caught up doing something else. By the time it's time to do it I don't feel like it. I push myself cause if not I'll get into a rut. :cp: WTG. I'm so proud of you!

Janie.  the weird herd. So funny. It is soooo cold here I couldn't walk outdoors if I wanted to. It's freezing out there. As soon as I sign off I have to throw on some socks. My feet are so cold. WTG with the herd.;)

Jen, are you cool or what! You go with your exercise!

Exercise is the way to go.:strong:

I don't know what was wrong with me today. I was starving!!! When I got home from work I stuffed my face with 6 cookies. There goes my evening snack.

I made the 0 point soup but had to force myself to eat it. I really don't like it. I have to try it with different vegetables. I don't care for the cabbage. I have one more serving(yuck). I'm so bad when it comes to fruits & vegetables. This is why I stay hungry.

Well buddies, I hope you all have a nice evening. One more day of work:cb:

Love you's
Es

Es,
I stuffed myself today too :yikes: This afternoon I got an incredible case of the munchies and before I knew it I downed 4 pts worth of pretzels and cookies! What is my problem? I faced the music and journalled it, only to find that it puts me -1 pt. in my bank since I had banked points. That was a good feeling, I thought I had done more damage than that.

I don't make the cabbage WW soup, but the version before that. (I hate cooked cabbage) It's ok. not a favorite of mine. I tried the potato cheese soup recipe today and loved it! Very flavorful and satisfying. The only problem was the cleanup...it said use a nonstick pot, which I don't have, and it was a mess. Joe agreed it was a "make again"...and only 3 pts a cup.

Janie,
wtg on the 2 miles :D

Good Morning ~

Another weekend is approaching....do y'all get the feeling that I just LIVE for the weekends?? Nothing planned, just some housework stuff ~ laundry, etc.

Jen ~ good job on sticking to the journal. And yes, what a wonderful feeling to know that you actually have banked points and you are not "in the red". :D Let me tell you that in the last 4-5 months since I've lost all this weight, what my "MO" is is to use banked points BEFORE I actually bank them. Then, throughout the rest of the week, I just put those points back. It's worked for me and I know you'll be fine. You're doing fantastic! :bravo:

Es ~ I smiled at your post ~ I too tend to stuff something in my mouth and then worry about it later. I have given up many an evening snack due to eating first and thinking later. You too are doing great girl. :bravo: to you too!! :)

Janie and Ruth ~ WTG on that walking/biking/exercise. I'm ashamed to say that y'all are doing great with your exercise, leaving me in a cloud of dust. I just can't do it. :(

Terri, LeeAnn and everyone (I hate to miss anyone...sorry) have a great day.

Me <><

Good morning all!

It is just a tad cold here. The temp is somewhere around -5, but with windchill, it feels more like -20. I personally think WW should include shivering in its APs. ;)

Hi Ruth! Glad to meet you. Bachelor degree in accounting! Wow. I was in a cohort group going for just that. I decided I was glad I hadn’t chosen that when I enrolled. I’m going for a bachelor in management information technology. That’s enough for me. WTG on the exercise!

JanieD – The bike ride really sounds like fun. I look forward to warmer weather when I can take my bike out. I’ve had it for about 3 years now and have only been on it twice.

Hi Es! Look like I’ll be walking today. Didn’t get that in yesterday. Went out to lunch instead. Ah, the sacrifices we all have to make!

Jenny – The soup sounds wonderful. Where did you find it? I’m always looking for new recipes.

Zoe – I’m not all that faithful with the exercise. This programming class is taking up way too much of my time. Once Monday is over (YEAH!!!!! Last class!!!), I can get back to walking at lunch. Sometimes it’s just so hard getting moving. :cb:

Well, I hope you all have a super day and keep warm!!!

Hi everybody,
I WI and it was a no change week. Better than a gain I always say;)

Won;t be exercising today I am afraid. I'm getting my hair cut at lunch and tonight I see my counselor.

You know my brother's pastor says when you pray, God answers in 1 of 4 ways. (I had prayed about recieveing wisdom regarding my career.) These are the 4 answers He may give you:
1) yes, 2) no, 3) wait, and 4) Have I got a surprise for you!!! He definately gave me answer number 4. This is like brain surgery you preform on yourself with no anesthesia, but I know it's what I need to do.

Have a great Thur,
Janie

Hi:wave:

Janie, I always pray. Especially when I need to make a decision & need guidance but most of the time I just Let Go Let God.
Staying the same is not bad at all.;)

LeeAnn, I know how you feel about the cold. It's freezing!!! I know alot of people think I'm nuts but I love the winter. I like Spring but my favorite is the Fall. I've been a little lazy lately with my exercise but I'll get back into it this weekend. Have to!

Zoe, I always look forward for the weekend. Even if I have nothing planned just being off work is nice.

Jen, 1 pt. over? That's it? Usually mine are more like 6 to 8 pts.! I had ice cream cake today at work. It was the Points Lady's birthday. I had a small piece. Have no idea how many pts. it was. It was soooo good. :T Where did you get the recipe for the soup? This weekend I have to try a different one. Can't take the 0 pt. one.

I will be back tomorrow.

Hugs,
Es

Janie,
I am sorry if you like the Raiders. I don't like to put anyones team down. My nephew loves the Raiders and he would be obnoxious for at least the whole year if they win. He is 20 and HATES the Steelers. But if you like them. GOOD LUCK.

Es,
Don't eat what you don't like. That wil be the death of the plan.
I get frozen pictsweet Japanese veggies. They are so good and make me full. I refuse to eat what I don't like. i am the FOOD SNOB.

I can't believe I live in the heart of the SOUTH. It is in the single digits here. Brrr! No school today. I let Tanner out last night at 11:00 and it was dry as a bone. At 12:00 midnight I went to shut the blinds and I looked outside and it was a winter wonderland. It snowed for about 2 hours and it never melted since it is so cold. Britts, Bruce and I put our stuff on and went outside and there was about an inch. It was so weird. We weren't supposed to get any. Tenn. was going to get it all. My kids were sooo surprised when they woke up. Now I am waiting to see about tomorrow. Every school around us is closed so far. Our Superintendent waits until the last minute. He surely wouldn't want us to plan in advance. My kids hate him right now. LOL
Got to get to bed so I can get up and stare at the TV at 6:00 A.M.
Luv ya,
Terri

Hello:wave:

Terri, thanks for the food advice. You're right about not eating food we don't like. The soup recipe before this one was the one I liked. It was creamy because 1/2 of it went in the blender. I'll check later on the WW recipes. Do you like the snow? When it first falls it looks so pretty but then when it turns to ice:yikes: very scary! If the kids don't have to go to school you can bundle up & go outside & build a snowman.:)

Enjoy your day.

Be back later.

Hugs,
Es
