Great advice I am sure - thank you Kerri! Maybe once the beads are in it will be easier to say no?
nope.. temptation is still present. Especially when it smells good. A LOT of willpower on this diet. One wrong food messes up the whole thing.

I'm with Kerri....WILLPOWER is the most important thing on this diet. I've fallen off the wagon almost from the start. I currently don't have the beads but I'm going back on the next week. I can tell you THIS DOES WORK! However, fast loose fast gain if you cheat. For us who are still on basic easier to gain the weight back that if we had Transitioned.

Good Morning All! I could definatley use some help here! I just ordered the beads, then canceled the order, the re ordered! I am feeling like a mess! I read the entire thread and said this sounds great and ordered!! Then I thought about it - i have not stuck to any plan which really drives me crazy so what makes me think I can stick to this? I am very nervous! I spoke with a woman from accuweight who calmed me a bit so I decided to go ahead with the plan. In reality I have the same wish as others - wish weight did not upset me so much and wish I did not go for these drastic plans - hcg, fasting, now beads, but I do! I actually like the food plan but dh and I go out to dinner every Friday - its our thing - we really enjoy and need the time together. I dont have to go hog wild - a salad and a glass of wine will get me through the evening but I know it is off protocol. I also just started running and I did not want to see my efforts wasted. The woman from accuweight told me I could still run and that as the weight comes off running will be easier. I would like to lose 40 pounds. She told me in 6-8 weeks I could lose between 20-30 pounds. Did anyone else have a "buyers remorse" moment? Thanks for any help!!!

No regrets, lost 30 pounds in 10-11 weeks. But I am getting a bit bored with vegetable days. I'm on a little different version of this bead diet than the one that most of the people on here are on. My version allows Greek Yogurt on Dairy Days, Creamora in my coffee. It's basically the same. I read someone did an "APPLE DAY" what is that? We don't have an APPLE day on our diet. I was thinking of making a lot of applesauce next veg day.

This is the only plan that has ever worked for me. and very fast. but like everyone already told you, it requires alot of willpower.
Im also a runner but decided against it for the first 2 weeks because it made me hungry. Now i'm ready to go back to it...funny i just posted about that. I think they tell you to have honey in tea 15 minutes before sip throughout and after. Jillian Michaels actually does that as well. You can also have powerade zero to replenish electrolytes.
How can we regret it when EVERYONE loses if you DONT CHEAT. Cheating isn't worth it. On Easter I drank alot of wine, thinking it's a liquid so what, it took me this entire week to get back to my original weight.
Dinner with husband can be easy. I go out once a week with mine as well. Tell him about it. Stick with the plan. It's only temporary.
Good luck!

this diet is weird.. I had two days of veggies and went up? why does that happen? I am sure when I have a day of milk it will go back down --its weird.. So what happens when we are totally off this?
When I went off in November I gained 2-3 lbs. And I wasn't really watching what I was eating... just never overate and worked out. Most people gain a bit when we start eating normally. It's not fat just food. But they'll tell you that's the max. Anything more you have to do 2 milk days and it comes right back down. I've done this it actually works. But anything more like 10 go back to Basic immediately! Put the beads back on. Because the weight can come back. This happened to one of my friends. She kept procrastinating until all the weight went back on and then some. It's all about how badly we want to keep it off I guess.

hi everyone! Im new here and been thinking about doing this diet. I did it once about a year& half ago & in3 1/2 weeks i lost 31lbs! I was soooo happy but ever since then I fell off the wagon and have attempted this again a few times but always failed (but i never gained back the 31lbs i lost so thats a plus). This time I feel more determined then ever and also a bit more driven bc I just dieted and exercised ( i was exercising 2 hours a day 5 days a week) and only lost 6lbs in 18 days :( I know "regular" people & health experts will say thats excellent and slow and healthy weight loss is key but I really need something thats going to show me great results to keep me motivated. I remember when I 1st did this when I lost the 31lbs, I lost 9lbs in the 1st 2 days so thats the kinda motivation im looking for! I made a promise to myself that by 4th of July I will be out of the 200's and I know thats achievable with this diet.
So I been really thinking about getting on board but i got mother natures gift this morning and I get the worst pain in the planet so I know I dont want to start till after which is about 5 days. Im just getting everything prepped & joining as many forums and threads I can find on this diet.
So how is everyone else doing??

First time i'll be meeting his family (besides his mom day and siblings) So alas i started this morning.. Im not on the beads yet, im going to hold off because i was told by a friend who did the diet and succeeded that pressure from your fingers works just as well. Been up for a couple hours and havent felt and hunger yet which is nice, but as i know from before the first few days suck. But hey! i guess its worth it. Hopefully i can get some support from you all! (: gotta lose a total of 80lbs, but for now ill settle with 50! Anyone have any tips on how to push through this?
I also started the supreme 90, i dont know if anyones heard of it, but its like p90x, but a lot cheaper. (:
ALSO, (sorry about this) does anyone have any pictures of their results? It might be nice to see how other people did so for anyone who is new has some inspiration.

In 78 days you can look like a totally different person -that's motivation enough!
The heavy strength workouts might make you hungry. They say to lay off them while on this plan. I do cardio and some calisthenics.
They have some pics on accuweight.com

The first week is the hardest. I remember after about 4 or 5 days I realized how often I thought about food, and how it was my hobby. I felt like a drug addict getting off of drugs. Probably very similar. Get through the first 10 days and it gets easier and easier. Summer is right around the corner, you can lose so much weight on this diet!
I've been on this for 12 weeks and lost 31.5 pounds. Need to lose another 29 pounds. I'm Sticking to it religiously right now.
Keep trying!

Hello all..Megsy to put you at ease, this program claims to help you lose weight without all the saggy skin. I know so far I've lost 47lbs and no saggy skin. Now if you had saggy skin before the program with a lot of yoyo then that may remain, but the fast weightloss from this program will not result in saggy skin, bc the skin as an organ responds to the program causing the skin to retract and pull tight - this is what I am told by the counselor.
I will say this, I have been struggling this cycle, not so much with food, but mentally - I am tired of doing the program. I am bored!! I decided to make May/June my last months - simply cannot afford it with hubby being out of work - but I am forcing and stretching the budget to continue until June bc I want to do maintenance come July. This is the only thing that works!! So between now and then I am hoping I can lose another 30lbs. Just fighting to stay focused!! I try to remind myself and celebrate the loss and I love shopping in my closet again. I just want it off already and I am learning to eat when hungry and not gorge myself.

Mom2b,
First, props to you for sticking with it. We struggled with the decision whether or not to pay for it. Hubs is in his last semester of law school and we are really skimping in the budget. It was hard for me to say 'yes' to a purchase for me, but I'm glad I did. We moms are usually last on the list :).
I'm having one of those days too. I'm bored with the food. On veggie days, I'm at a loss to know what to cook. I've been eating roasted fennel for the last six or eight days. Sick of it. I'm making the butternut squash fries right now (almost lost a finger, twice trying to cut it).
Tomorrow, I'm going to try roasted cauliflower.

I am so happy this was mentioned, bc I bought a squash last week (I hope it is still safe to eat). Sitting on my counter..oh well, will attempt to roast it tonight and season it up with some honey, nutmeg and cinnamon. I hope it is tasty. My friend's husband makes butternut squash and he can cook....taste just like sweet potato..lord only knows how much honey he puts in..but he was on program too and assured me no butter goes in..but just to tasty not to have butter. We shall see.
I will continue to fight the fight and keep my focus. I do light exercise, more stretching, pilates and calistenics...no major cardio yet. But once I hit the 170s I think I will pick up my game..for now I am happy to be settling into the 180s..I tell you year ago..I didn't think this was possible.
I joined WeightWatchers for the upteenth time and for about 12 weeks I only lost 9lbs..then I decided to do the bead program in September and my first 12 days I lost 13lbs..I knew I found the plan for me; so I gotta stick this out, bc where can I go and lose almost 50lbs without working out...I'm not starving myself, I can't eat crap, not eating much food, my food is limited, however, but certainly not starving - so for the next 60 days I will ride it out and be sporting a 8/10 when all is said and done.
To think I started this in 9/2010 at 18W/20W and now I can wear 12/14 ... so I am extremely happy with my progress. Saying no to the junk food and temptations are hard, however, it is worth it in the end when you see the progress. Not to mention, you lose a shoe size too!! LOL!

LOL!
my program only allos honey in an emergency.. Only splenda or equal or one of the 0 calorie sweeteners. I also use i can't believe its not butter spray

Hey Coco,
Sorry it took me so long to respond... husband is in the midst of law school finals. Phew.
I've been doing a lot of walking, but my favorite thing to do is Tracy Anderson's mat workout. It's not easy, but I really like the results!
i'll try the workout, need to tone up.

Surprisingly yesterday I felt no hunger. I drank a lot of water and tea. I just want to see results. How long did it take everyone to actually see results?
Right away! And I've noticed the tinier I get the faster even a few pounds show. It's a great motivator!

And my only fear with this is loss (splg?) skin. Because im only 20 and to lose 80 pounds that quickly I just don't wanna look all skin yknow?
Read once that it's better to have loose skin than unhealthy fat. Before that I was so worried about ugly loose skin.
However, loose skin is not a factor on this program. When I lost 80lbs last year didn't have flabby skin at all. And I'm at least 10 years older than you.
You're young so I'm sure you'll be fine.

I HEAR YOU! Dieting is getting to me. No matter what I'm done June 1 maybe even mid-May LOL
How long have you been on? last year I lost 80lbs and just couldn't do another day so took a break. Now I'm here to get the job done. But if thejob isn't done this month oh well. Will just come back next Fall ;)

Long long time since I have checked in..... How is everyone doing? Good to see some new faces along with some old ones on here... Well, I have maintained! I am pretty much right at the weight I have been at for a couple or maybe 3 months. I forget now. All I will say is that doing the two milk days after eating for 5 days a week with no beads is essential but friggen tough!!!!!!! I had no problems with milk days while on the Basic plan, but now with working out and NO BEADS, the milk days SUCK!!!!! LOL. Any way, keep up the great work guys!!!!!

I was going to the gym between 4 and 5 nights a week. I was also trying to count calories. Something was not working.. trying to make a break away with this. I don't eat bad food but apparently I was not counting correctly. I don't mind the gym but I have now been away from it 30 days and that is not good for me mentally.
I need the gym for stress and I have been afraid to go this past month...but really I have felt okay so time to make the move!!!:carrot:
Such a good habit to be in... for stress, go to the gym... not to food!

haven't posted in a little bit, started my 2nd set of beads today. Started last tuesday and was good until sunday. As of sunday morning I was down 12 lbs but had to go to a baptism and the reception afterwards proved to tough to bear and I caved. I gained a few lbs but that was due to the salt in the food and the actual weight of the food in my system. I was back down to sundays weight by weds morning. I've been pretty steady so far and as of this morning i'm down a total of 13.8 lbs. Hoping to drop anything 5-8 in the next 7 days!!

Schwartz office and paid or me to get the beads on today. So I'm going to start back tomorrow 100% dedicated :).
Surfnmom: the diet is a combination if breathing, beads, and two days of milk days and two days of veggie days. Is there anything in specific you are questioned about? Or just wanted to no general?

Well I'm 191lbs, and I want to be at like 110lbs just because of how short I am. But that might not be realistic so I'm probably just gonna lose in increment of 20 and see how I feel. Haha I started on a milk day because they're so much easier for me. And I'm working a double today so it's easier for me to drink than eat actual food.

Initially I wanted to go down to 125. I'm 5'6" so that was very silly. Now I'm at 156# and fit comfortably into a size 6.
On this program we really do only lose fat and that is why we finish at much higher weight than with other programs and can still be small. As you go through the program you'll see how fast you fit into smaller sizes without much weightloss.

Im gunna wait, but as i said i kept the VS magazine with me and kept pulling it out every time i thought of cheating, people at work thought i was nuts. :]
Good luck to your husband with his finals! Does he graduate after this?
Megsy, glad you are feeling better! I haven't been struggling with cheating up until this week. I'm just craving all kinds of things... pulled pork bbq, ribs, tacos, all-you-can-eat buffets, I could go on and on! We go to the beach on Saturday and I really want to try to make it on the diet, until then. Like you, I'm trying to keep my bathing suits out and in my plain-view to keep me accountable.
Hubs graduates in two weeks. I can't believe how fast (and sometimes unbearably sloooooooow) the last three years have gone. Phew. Our house has been crazy, crazy. Almost there!

gracefindsgoodness: oh man good luck, im so glad my cravings arent that bad.. like i say oh i want french fries then ten seconds later im like but i want to look hot in that bathing suit, so luckily thats been changing my mind, and i've literally been working a lot since i started the diet so that helps me ALOT keeping my mind off real food. but i cannot wait until the milk days, veggie days are so confusing because i dont really cook so the past two days ive been eating raw veggies and its making me want ranch dressing haha. anyway! enough of the food talk! I know you can do it though! Just keep yourself away from any real food lol :P
That's so exciting about your husband! Im happy that you're going to have him back finally!

Hello MJ! Glad you're back! Are you still on plan or waiting for the beads?
Gracefindsgoodness: yeah and once you cheat it takes a week to start losing again not worth it! all i did was have extra wine on easter and it ruined my loss and hard worked. But I'm craving food also... only 3 more weeks!

Missed you too MJ!! Glad you are back! So sorry about the cold/allergies. My in-laws live in NJ and the allergies there are CRAZY!!! How is your weight loss going?
Toni, I started out on the diet without the beads and I still lost weight. That said, I still rubbed behind my ears and it really helped when I was hungry. I'm on the beads now and am not sure how much it helps. That said, I want to be successful and help reset my metabolism, so I'm sucking it up and paying for the beads :).
3 more days of law school finals and I get my spouse back! WOO HOO!
Hope you ladies have a great night ahead!
WHAT WAIT LOSS, LOL!!!!
I'm jumpiong back on after almost 3 weeks of being a food scavanger...I just got my beads this morning so I'll start tomorrow am since I had coffee/milk this morning.

I'm not sure what size I want to be because I have really wide hips. Haha so I'm not sure what would be comfortable. I wear a size 13 now. My small goal is to wear a single digit. I haven't done that since I was like a sophomore in high school! So that in itself would make me incredibly happy. But well see what I'm happy with :). I'd love to weigh 110 but that might be too small for me.
I do have a question might be a weird question but has anyone noticed their boobs getting smaller?
Megsy...I'm "thunderthighs" over here. I'll be happy in size 5. I'm a 14!

Megsy,
I know what you mean. I worried about the same thing. I'm young as well, and don't want saggy skin. I haven't been on the diet long enough to tell you with any certainty. I have been moisturizing and drinking lots of water, which will help your skin's elasticity.
Ladies...I just had my 3rd baby about 3 months ago and EVERYTHING is sagging right now...belly, boobs...etc. I've become a huge fan of spanks. I'm just looking forward the weight loss and then I'll worry about how creative I'll have to be to tuck my unwanted skin...until I can afford a "mommy make over" that is, lol!

One of the things I don't like about this plan is that they're primitive technologically. For example, the website is unorganized. The recipe section doesn't have a search. They use an email system instead of forums for member support. And like you said you need to dig through a ton of papers to find what you're looking for.

I tried the angel hair and they were ok. You do have to hold your breathe and rinse under piping hot water to get rid of the fish smell. But once that's done they take on the taste of anything you put on them. You may also need to chop them into shorter strands.
I never tried the rice. There's a trick I learned a while back if you want rice, shred cauliflower and steam.

Just keep scrolling down - lots of good information - answers a lot of your questions.....PLEASE PRINT FOR FUTURE REFERENCE
This is a great Startup Collection – I keep updating as rules change and adding to it to make it even more informative - this will also give you sources for ingredients that you will find in the recipes or mentioned in the emails– but it is also important that you read your startup packet and check out the Accu Weight-Loss website - http://www.accuweight.com/ giving special attention to the "Ask Dr. Schwartz" and Recipe links.
The diet is pretty simple: 2 days of milk (20 oz of whole milk of which you can substitute up to 10 oz of non flavored whole milk yogurt as part of the total allowance or use whole milk Lactaid instead of the whole milk) and 2 days of veggies (NO STARCHY ONES!!!) 1-1/2 lbs of veggies + 2 fruits. Some fruits are measured by the cup. (i.e., 1 cup of melon or grapes counts as 1 fruit. 1 small banana counts as 1 fruit.) Avocados are counted as a veggie. You do not have to eat the entire daily allowance but you should be sure to eat at least half – so on veggie days – 3/4lb of veggies and 1 fruit, on milk days – 10 oz of milk/yogurt. No Oils, Vinegars or Condiments are allowed. All spices, seasonings and 0 calorie drinks are allowed any time of day (i.e. diet soda, coffee, tea, flavoring extracts) WATER is your biggest friend. Drink half your weight in ounces.
All elements of the diet work together synergistically…Milk is an emulsifier. It liquefies the fat.
The veggies and fruit are enzymes - they dissolve the fat.
The rotation of the beads stimulates the hypothalamus and changes the way your brain perceives and deals with food and hunger.
The Chi Gong enhances weight loss as well as increased energy by increasing the body's ability to use oxygen but it is not required.
CHEATING IS NOT AN OPTION - DO NOT CHEAT - no BLT's (bites, licks or tastes) - it opens up the flood gates for more cheating. The best way for success is to stick to the rules BUT if for some reason you screw up a day, just make the next day a perfect one. If you mess up on veggie day #1, your next day is a perfect veggie day #2 - if you mess up on veggie day #2, your next day is a perfect milk day #1 etc. etc. Don't anguish and think you have ruined everything. Just continue the rotation and try not to let it happen again.
MEASURING VEGGIES for chili, soups, veggie stews, Janet's AWESOME eggplant lasagna (see recipe s on website) etc. you weigh all raw ingredients and add them up. Count the listed weight of the canned ingredients (a 15 oz can = 15 oz of raw veggies). If you have 4 lbs of raw weight veggies, you divide your chili into 4 servings, all 1 lb each (cooked weight is usually less than raw weight so you try to make 4 even servings). If you divide the recipe into 8 servings each would have 8 oz towards your daily veggie allowance. Refrigerate or freeze what you are not using.
Soup rule: Because of the daily broth allowance you have to figure that in when you divide the soup into portions. A carton of veggie broth is 32oz. so the minimum amount of portions you get from a recipe using a carton of broth would have to be 4 portions. Weigh your veggies before cooking — divide the weight by the portions you make - if there was 16 oz of veggies and you divide the soup into 4 portions - each has 8 oz of the broth + 4 oz veggies.,. if you end up with 8 portions - each has 4 oz of broth, 2 oz veggies - if you divide it into 2 portions - each would have 16 oz broth and 8 oz veggies and that would be over your daily allowance of the broth. You have to count each 2oz over the 8oz free broth as 1 oz of veggies - you have to watch this.
LINKS: Here are some products and ingredients mentioned in recipes and where to get them to help you get through the diet.
(All links provided are just examples.... you can Google to try to find them cheaper elsewhere but we would suggest you check out www.Netrition.com first. It is an excellent source for many of these products – excellent prices, prompt delivery.)
Walden Farms 0-calorie Syrups and Spreads: These can be added to lots of different recipes for flavor. You can have them 24/7 - veggie or milk days.
The allowed products are: Syrups: Chocolate, Pancake, Blueberry and Strawberry
Dips: Chocolate, Marshmallow, Caramel, Peanut Butter
Sauces: Alfredo, Scampi and Marinara (Not great but some people have doctored them up and used them in recipes and liked them)
Fruit Spreads: Strawberry, Grape, Raspberry, Apricot, Orange Marmalade, Blueberry and Apple Butter.
All other sugar -free products are NOT allowed due to the ingredients including either oil, vinegar or both. Check the website for recipes. The Salad Dressings are NOT allowed - they contain vinegar. Scampi and Alfredo and Marinara Sauces are allowed. Some of our favorites are the chocolate syrup and pancake syrup! These are available at most supermarkets or www.waldenfarms.com
DaVinci Sugar Free Syrups (add to milk for tasty milkshakes!) http://www.davincigourmet.com/742.html
Note: All 0 calorie sugar free syrup brands are allowed.
Fox's UBet Sugar Free Chocolate Syrup - this is a new product - 0 Calories -it is allowed.
Xanthan Gum (add to milkshakes and other recipes to thicken it up a bit) Found in health food stores – where the flours are shelved. Bob’s Red Mill is our favorite brand. http://www.bobsredmill.com/Guar gum can also be used.
Miracle Noodles or konjak noodles are allowed on the diet. They are made of a soluble fiber and contain no carbohydrates, starch, or calories. You may use one 7oz serving every 2 veggie days. The 7 ounces can be used all at once or divided between the two veggie days.. The noodles have no flavor but will take on the flavor of the vegetables you put with them. Most of the people on our program seem to favor the angel hair as it is thin and described as less rubbery.
You can also get them locally if you have any Asian food stores or a good supermarket with an oriental ethnic food section - but if you buy them in the store be sure they are the shirataki noodles made of yam flour and not from tofu. (The ones in the local stores are usually the tofu shirataki and that is NOT allowed.) The ingredients may read yam flour or konjak flour or glucomannan – they are all the same. They are found in the refrigerated section. They are obtainable on the internet from Miracle Noodles http://www.miraclenoodle.com/index-1.html or from Konjak Foods http://www.konjacfoods.com/order/ or from Skinny Noodles

Sour salt is just concentrated citric acid. It is used for souring, sweet and sour dishes, and to perk recipes up a spec since it brightens the other flavors when added in small quantities to many dishes. Check out the legal ketchup recipe on the AW website. (Thanks Uncle Mitch) First check the Jewish foods ethnic section of your supermarket – it is a powder in a shaker bottle or www.greatamericanspice.com
Sugar Substitutes and Butter Substitutes - Sweet ‘n Low and Butterbuds - even sugar free candy - can be bought here http://www.brooklynpremium.com/sweetnlow.html
Sweet n Low Brown Sugar is NOT allowed on a regular basis – used once a week in a recipe is okay. Splenda Brown Sugar is NOT allowed at all.
Pam and Butterbuds - After the first two weeks - Only a spritz is allowed. You can find them in your grocery store.
Molly McButter and Molly McButter Natural Cheese are OK if used in a recipe here or there, but not on a regular basis or in large quantities.
Reese's Cheesoning - as long as it is used in moderation. Can be found in the spice aisle or from http://reese.elsstore.com/view/category/1307-cheese/
I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter (ICBINB)- SPRAY ONLY - only a spritz - is allowed but it is preferred that you do not use it.
Crystal Light - You may have up to 2 “On The Go” packages per day (any time of day). The calorie content in Crystal Light indicates traces of sugar, which is why use is limited.
Unsweetened cocoa is allowed - up to 2 Tablespoons maximum between 12 and 6. After 6 - 1T replaces 1 piece SF candy/gum.
Crispy Green – freeze-dried fruit – comes in single serve bag – each one equals one serving of fruit – crispy apples, apricots, bananas, pears or pineapple - http://www.crispygreen.com/ - you can check location of where to buy on the website – just enter your zip code - Note: Fruitzio is NOT ALLOWED.
Bacon Salt - vegetarian and kosher - check it out on http://www.baconsalt.com/
For BBQ flavor - Rosie’s Kitchen BBQ spices can be used (thanks Marlene) BUT NOT THE STEAK DUST - THE STEAK DUST SEASONING IS NOT LEGAL FOR AW PURPOSES. To order them go to http://www.rosies-kitchen.com/products.htmFlavor Sprays – Not too many good reviews on these but you can check it out and decide. http://flavor-spray.com/flavor_sprays_flavors.html They are legal.
Sugar Free Jell-O - Only the gelatin allowed – NOT THE PUDDING. You must make it yourself. Do not buy the pre-made one! One small box makes 4 servings. Can be eaten on veggie and milk days before 12 and after 6 if you wish - in other words 24/7
As per Barbara Schwartz - Ideally one serving per day (we don’t want people OD-ing on artificial sweetener), but it is “legal” unlimited as long as it’s from the box and not the pre-made cups....so if a recipe calls for more, it is okay if it is just occasionally.
Sugar Free Candy/Gum - must be 10 calories or less, max of 6 total per day. Candy must be the hard candies – no SF twisters or SF chocolate. If they are 10 calories or less they are fine – do not bother checking the ingredients. SF Mentos are allowed.
Bragg's Liquid Amino Acids -may be used after the second week of the diet. Use this instead of soy sauce….tastes like a light soy or Tamari - no limit on use. It is available in health food stores and Whole Foods stores.
Julienne Peeler - utensil used to make cucumber spaghetti http://www.kitchen-universe.com/detail.aspx?ID=2681
Magic Bullet -. Great for the milk shakes. http://www.buythebullet.com/
Sugar Free Fla.Vor.Ice.Lite. Max allowed - 2 per day (any time). 1 ice pop replaces 1 sugar-free gum or candy. http://www.jelsert.com/products_flavor_ice.asp
Check out the freezer section of your super market.
Skinny Dippers - 0 cal frozen treat is allowed 24/7 - milk or veggie day - can be found locally or from http://skinnydippersdiet.com/products.html or Amazon.com
Veggie Broth - Our favorite “legal” veggie broths are Pacific Organic Vegetable Broth or Mushroom Broth and Imagine Organic Vegetable STOCK (not their veggie broth)
For those who want to avoid artificial sweeteners in flavors for water - or to sprinkle on salads – check out True Lemon, True Lime and True Orange packets....available in supermarkets - look where they stock the Crystal Light or from http://www.truelemon.com
Badia Sazon Tropical - seasoning packets – found in the ethnic section of the supermarket (or online) – can be used 24/7 on milk or veggie days. We prefer the Green Box because it has less chemicals but both the Green and Orange boxes are “legal” on AW. Can be used as a seasoning or to make a nice hot broth to sip. Just don’t overuse because of the salt content which can cause water retention.
New Ruling on seeds from Dr. Schwartz - this applies to fresh seeds from the squash, pumpkin, melon, etc.,you are eating on a veggie day.
MAXIMUM ALLOWED: 2 level Tablespoons per veggie day. Seeds must be eaten in the same 2-day veggie cycle in which the vegetable was cut open. These are usually baked and you may add any legal seasonings.
Truvia - There have been reports of some tummy problems associated with Truvia. Here is the link to read further on the side effects:
http://www.side-effects.owndoc.com/truvia-side-effects.html
Final word – learn to read the ingredients list on products you want to buy – do NOT read the Nutritional Information because lots of veggies and fruits have natural sugar that will be listed in the nutritional section. You want to read ingredients to see if any sugar, oil, vinegar etc. has been added – this is particularly relevant when it comes to tomatoes – there are many brands on the shelves that are perfectly legal on AW – we prefer the Muir Glen organic brand but even some Muir Glen products may not be allowed on AW – so read the ingredients list.

HI Coco...I got this too through the e-mail "forum"...is it me or they're to Catty? I do, that's why I'm here but I much rather have "suggestions" on something your doing that's working great for you and once in a while say...hey have you cheated and when I say, "yup, I had 4 Oreo cookies" you say..."Ohhhhh man, did you enjoy them? Good, now get back on the wagon" I don't need all that "Kindergarten" BS...I leave that for my little ones.

One of the things I don't like about this plan is that they're primitive technologically. For example, the website is unorganized. The recipe section doesn't have a search. They use an email system instead of forums for member support. And like you said you need to dig through a ton of papers to find what you're looking for.
I hav an email from a while back about do's and don't i'll post it here.
Way to go, Toni! 6.5lbs!!! Congrats!
I'm with Coco, I need to do some toning, but I think I might start gnawing off my arm in hunger if I try to tone while on the diet.
Never done p90x, but I have some friends who have. They liked it, but one of them told me that there was another, cheaper option. Similar plan, similar style, just as good, but cheaper. If I can figure out what it's called, I'll let you know.
Totally agree with you on the website. It would be such a cheap update for them to do... hire a web developer or designer. Make a few tweaks and you're done. I think it would also help them look more "professional". By that, I mean that when I have friends who ask about the diet, I send them to the website. Some have been turned off or think that it's a sham, just looking at the site.
Thanks for posting the do's and don'ts. It'll be much easier for me to just log-in here than file thru papers.

HA! I'm playing the same mind game..... when my toddler comes up to me with chocolate/pasta/cheese/cracker-covered hands, usually I'd just lick it off, if I'm somewhere we don't have a wet-wipe handy. Now I grab her hands and shove them as far away from me as possible, right to the sink. No temptations! She gave me a kiss on the mouth once, and left maple syrup behind (don't worry, I do bathe her). I was so freaked out about ruining what hard-earned progress I made, that I washed my mouth out.

Don't know about the walden farms dressing.
I do have a few ideas for veggie days... I'd love for others to weigh in too!
Today, I shredded up some zucchini, squeezed out the moisture with a towel, crushed a few cloves of garlic, added tons of seasonings (salt, pepper, old bay, whatever sounded good) and then "sauteed" it in Pam. I sort of scooted it around the pan until it browned. It was tasty. I'm allergic to onions, but you could add those too. There is a recipe on the website for veggie cakes, or something like that. It has zucchini, onion, carrot and something else. That could be good too. The other day I did the butternut squash fries. I cut them small and let them get really toasty and crunchy. Also used seasoned salt. They were nice also.
I took fresh green beans, crushed up garlic cloves, a small splash of lemon juice (I forget if that's legal), salt/pepper, a tiny bit of water and PAM on the pan. I let them "steam" and then let them get nice and brown. I also liberally sprayed them with the Braggs spray. Love that stuff. Those were tasty too.
I like roasting veggies with pam, salt and pepper. I've done cauliflower and carrots and fennel.
That said, I need some more variety :). I should also try adding some fruit.
Anyone else have ideas?

The only thing that helps me is sucking on some sugar-free candy. I have 2-3 pieces. I felt the same way for the first few days... and it comes back somewhat regularly, but eventually goes away. Drink lots of water and maybe take some deep breaths, in thru your nose, out thru your mouth. Several times.
Hang in there!!! Only 2 hours!

Unfortunately no. They all have either oil or vinegar. My veggies I sauté with "Vegetable Stock, Garlic, Sea Salt and pepper. Or I'll use Adobo Goya. For my Salad I usually just do Romaine lettuce, Fresh Spinach, 1/2 Avocado, Cucumber, Lime Juice, Pepper, Garlic salt and to me that's delicious.

Have you ladies tried the Mashed Quash that they sell in the frozen section. It's pretty good. You have to get the one that has only SQUASH no other ingridiets. I sprinkle some garlic salt and I'm good to go. I also like Yellow Plantains as my 1 fruit. I put it in the micro for 5 minutes and I sprinkle salt. I started noticing I could get into my older clothes after about 3/4 weeks. Granted, I don't really have any other clothes besides black yoga pants and maternity stuff. I just refused to buy any bigger ones that would have fit because a). we don't have the money and b). I didn't want to "get used" to the weight gain. My plan did backfire somewhat as I'm sure all the other preschool moms were totally embarrassed by my "uniform" of black yoga pants and t-shirts.

Who cares about about those "FOOFOO Preschool Moms". Don't even worry about your uniform, where them with pride since you had the miracle of giving birth. Plus let's be realistic, (unless you are a "Freak of Nature" and went back to your pre pregger jeans I used) they also had the "maternity ensemble.
So you can laugh, while on maternity leave I wore the same "Winnie the Pooh" blue holey pants with my husband's tank top. I completed the look with a Victoria Secret Robe...I used that for 3 1/2 weeks. My husband used to come home and look at me and say "Dude, you're not even going to brush your hair?" I woke up with this look, took my 5yr old to the bus stop (until I convinced him to pick her up at my front door) and went to sleep in it....Now I have to come to the office so I only get to use it on the weekends. I leave my YOGA pants for special occasions such going to Whole Foods and the mall...lmaooo!!!
Don't worry, we'll stick together and loosed this weight. Then we can all meet up for some MARGARITAS!!!!

Grace: im the same way, yoga pants are the most amazing invention ever I own like 10 pairs of black and 6 other assortment of colored ones. I also wear my work uniform so yeah same things. Well thats good to hear I won't have to very long to notice smaller sizes fitting. After the first week how much did you notice you lost a week? Also! Thanks :) maybe I'll lose one more pound by tomorrow so I'll have a really good start to the diet! The scale really did
Motivate me not to cheat today, and once I had my shake I'm feeling 10x better.
Thanks everyone for the helpful tips!

MJ, you make my day! Totally rocked the robe, t-shirt and pj pants for a month, too. When we had friends dropping meals by, my husband was SO embarrassed. I don't blame him, I bet I looked like a wreck! Oh well. Besides, yoga pants do seem to communicate.... "I just TOTALLY worked out at the gym." Even if I didn't.

Work uniform, awesome!! Easy to put on and not think about what to wear in the morning.
You're doing great on the diet! Keep up the hard work!
I think I lost about 7-10lbs the first week. Can't exactly remember off the top of my head. In the beginning it was about a pound a day. Now, it's a little more like half a pound a day.

I started in April. I had lost about 12ish the first 2 weeks then I cheated, got back on, feel off the wagon, rolled under it, tried to get back and my baby got sick. So I started again..I gain about 5lbs (eating everything including the any floor crumbs) while I was off as per the official weigh in the other day. HI Coco...I got this too through the e-mail "forum"...is it me or they're to Catty? I mean here I can be the clow I am and even though we talk about the beads and the diet we also talk about other things...kids, health, gym...etc. There you (people-- since I don't think I really want to give my input) get bombarded with "TSK TSK TSK" or "YOU CAN'T DO THIS THAT OR THOSE...I mean just last night I was laughing (sorry) at someone who said "I'M DONE WITH THIS CONVERSATION" and people still kept talking about it....I think I rather give my opinion here...:dizzy::dizzy::dizzy:
Thanks for this though...I didn't feel like looking for it through 100's of e-mails!
I hated the email list! VERY catty (to put it mildly). It's supposed to be a support group but makes you hate the plan instead. One of the rules is you can't joke!! what? Or if you cheat and email for opinions you get bombarded with holier than thou responses. Ukh.
The diet owners should really look into it. I'm no longer on it obviously.

I know 7lbs doesn't seem like a lot, but keep going. Actually, there are several days when I don't drop a pound and I stay the same, if go up an ounce or two. That said, the next day or 2 or 3 I drop more than expected. Weightloss can be unpredictable.

Just read back thru everyone's posts. Sounds like some of us had a similar weekend. I cheated a few times this weekend. I was VERY good, overall, but with being at the beach, in the sun all day, trying to manage the kids and feed everyone else, a few times I just didn't get a chance to eat at all between 12 and 6. Oh well. No biggie. It's milk for the next two days!

Oh gosh, I can't even imagine!!!! I've been to Vegas a few times. Honestly, it really would be nearly impossible not to cheat. Listen, if you decide to stick on it, that's AWESOME!!!!!! If you do cheat, don't get depressed. I find that when I have cheated, I just get sick to my stomach if I try to eat everything and anything. I bet your body won't allow you to go hog-wild. Don't beat yourself u[. You've lost an amazing amount of weight so far and it is nearly physically impossible to gain it all back in one week.

Go Megsy!!!!!! Go Kerri! I'm supporting you both!
You can DEFINITELY do this. Hop back on the wagon. Go to bed early, inhale the jello, chug the water, rub those beads like it's going out of style! :dizzy::dizzy::dizzy::dizzy::dizzy:

i'm still here also! just been very busy but sticking to the plan military style. I want this done mor ethan anything. only 10 more pounds!!!! i can't believe it. it's been a long road.
started doing running intervals similar to c25k but with a personal trainer and 5x a week. haven't been anymore hungry since starting but i notice my legs are looking better.
kerri- 15lbs in 6 weeks you can DEFINITELY do it!
megsy- i'm feeling like i want to eat so badly. that's why i'm finishing at 140-145 and just taking my sweet time getting to 135. they say with transition you lose another 5 in that month. might still make it to goal. don't really care anymore. WANT REAL FOOD lol
grace- have a good weekend, don't go too nuts :)

Cocoisfit: congrats on getting close to goal!
I've been having a world full of issues lately, so i haven't even been trying to stick to the plan, i figure once life gets a little easier i'll go back because i need to lose this weight! But i'm not gunna go on it now when i know because of stress and not having everything in order will come in the way. So no big. I'll get back on it eventually. :] Congrats everyone for still losing!

Hey all!
Hope your Monday is going well!! I'm back on the plan after slipping a little this weekend w/ hubs graduation. I was VERY good, but still didn't stick to it 100%. Milk today and tomorrow and then veggies.
It's crazy hot here today and so I'm inside with the AC up, the windows drawn and chugging water like no tomorrow.
Megsy, so sorry things are crazy in your life. It is super hard to diet when there is no peace. Hop back on the plan when life settles down for you. You've already lost some weight though, right? That's a big accomplishment!
Coco, Way to GO! 10 more lbs! That's awesome! Stick to it, you are ALMOST DONE! Can't believe you are exercising too... that's the perfect way to finish well. You are thisclose to eating real food again!
Kerri, how has today been? 15 more pounds, you can do it!
Hope you all are doing well!
