Default Zumba

I just ordered the Zumba dvd's and was wondering if anyone had them, what you think about them and have you lost weight with them etc?

I love to dance and thought these would be a great alternative to the WATP dvd's. While I love the WATP it gets a little boring at times, thought I would mix it up. Need to do something different to get back on track with the losing!

I haven't used the dvds, but I go to a Zumba class maybe once a week and really enjoy it. Don't know how much it's caused me to lose, as that's more a feature of my calorie intake, but I do feel stronger and have more energy.

I ordered the exhilarate system. Im not in great shape and the workouts are long. So far I'm doing the 20 min rush and I'll work my way up. I have noticed a difference in my weight in the 2 wks I've been using them and I dont do it everyday!

Will you be using the Zumba dvds in an area with carpeting or a hardwood floor? The workouts have turns/pivots, which are difficult to do on carpeting. If you do exercise on carpeting, I would suggest wearing dance sneakers instead of regular sneakers. I tried doing the workouts with regular cross trainers on carpeting and ended up with achy knees. Members of another board I am on suggested dance sneakers, and they have been a help. You can find them on zappos.com, Amazon, endless.com and dance stores.

Have fun!

Thanks so much! I just took my first Zumba class and it of course is on carpet. I didn't want to buy another pair of sneakers just for that class. Can't wait to see how much they help, I have a bad right knee and felt it after class.

A cheap alternative to the Slip-Ons is to put duct tape (or packing tape) on the bottom of the shoe (just the ball of the foot area, not the whole sole!). This works if you have an extra pair of shoes on hand. Don't do it to your only pair of shoes becasue when you take the tape off, the sole's all sticky.

I was thinking about ordering these DVDs. They're kind of expensive, but I used to love Zumba at the gym, and now I live too far out in the country to make a membership very usable, and I'm trying to figure out how to keep exercising at home and indoors without taking my soon to be infant out in the bitter cold for 6 months of winter.

To baby's like listening to latin music? That is the question... I'm sure mine will.

I have done Zumba a few times on Xbox 360 Kinect. I swear I pour sweat when I do it. I think it's a really good cardio workout.
