100 lb. Club - Does anyone else have "magic" numbers?

You know, numbers that aren't technically landmarks ( like 100 marks or 50 marks) but random ones? For me, 229 is a big one. to be out of the 230's will be a great day. Also 208, when i was 18 I had a surgery on my birthday (fix a broken bone in my foot) and weighed in at 209. So 208 will be the lowest i've ever been in my adult life! anyone else have numbers like this?? Or am I just crazy:dizzy: haha

No it's not crazy... I can't wait to get into the 100's and out of the 200's!

The 230's were, and the 220's are proving to be, very difficult for me. Loss seems slower, I still can't fit into a particular pair of pants.....so I look forward to the 2teens and of course onederland....but i think just getting out of the 220's will encourage me to keep plugging away.

Definitely! The last time I was really working at losing weight, I was able to get down to 199. I was thrilled....and it lasted for about 2 seconds. Now, I just want to get to 198. To get past that mentally....ugh, yep.

For me, 212 is one that I remember clearly as a milestone. I'm not sure why, but it sticks with me.

190, apparently? I've been stuck here for AGES. :(

175lbs is a big one for me too. I've lost weight a number of times since graduating college but that was always the lowest i could go.

the only really 'random' milestone in my weight loss is 267. i need to get there to pass where i gave up last time i tried to lose weight.

For me, it's 244. I was around that weight for years. After college, I started gaining again, so getting back there would be a huge bonus. After that, it's 220 - I was there once in my adult life and I actually had cheekbones.

in 2004 I lost 70 lbs, so 228 is a big number for me because that will put me at -71 lbs lost, the most ever for me. (but not back at my 2004 weight, which was 190, I gained 40 lbs on top of the 70 I'd regained)

and of course 190.

229. I weighed 233 for YEARS! Then I gained a bunch of weight. Im currently back down to 233 but I can't wait to be out of the 230's!! This "decade" of weight has been a booger to get out of!

199 - my wedding weight.
180, my high school graduation weight
149 - my lowest adult weight and the weight I was when I met my husband.

I notice that I am not the only one in the "needs to lose a hundred or more" crowd that does not have a pile of over 250 numbers in their wishlist of weights. I like the one for the wedding, graduate and wedding weights and so hope Pandora realizes them. Those are real numbers.

I have totally fake ones. Fake meaning no good sentiment attached. For real ones I have plenty. My whole life can be recalled either by what I ate or weighed.

So the meaningless ones (to everyone but me):
268. That will be the weight I will be when I have exactly 100 pounds to goal weight.
249 - because my body loves my fat and wants to hang in the 250's FOREVER.
213 - One more pound beyond my lowest in a decade.
199 - Onederland (I just got that! I am thick!!)
186 - it is the weight I put on my drivers license. Gosh that just makes me laugh!

Well, so far I reached my favorite of getting into Onederland, and then at 195 lower than my freshman year weight (196)...... but next up is:

171: My lowest adult weight!!! :D :carrot:
then
156: 100lbs LOST!!!! GOAL!
then
(maybe/optional) 136: Official healthy weight for my height. :)

248 - the lowest weight I can remember as a adult. I was that when I met my OH. Cant wait to get back to it, and see something lower! :dizzy:

311 was what I weighed when I got pregnant. Considering he's 10, it will be nice to blow past that (maybe this week?)

299 - Twoderville!!!

268 - 100 lbs gone

250 - When I was 175, my friend was 250. And I thought, OMG! 250! Ha! Sure got my payback when I past her and then some!

215 - what I weighed when I got married

199 - Onderland, of course!!

168 - Goal! (first goal anyway)

Oh my gosh! Definitely!

I started at 295.
My "numbers" were

Below 250 (hadn't been there since the mid nineties)
Below 230 (stuck there for several years after birth of my first child)
Below 200 (nuff said)
196-- out of obesity, and what I weighed at the beginning of my first pregnancy.
175 (the weight I was when I graduated from college)
161 (my average high school and college weight)
151 (my slim high school and college weight)
145 (lowest adult weight)

Now, I must add 187. I stuck at that weight from August 2010 until January 2011 before I got frustrated and started creeping up again.

I'm about to turn 50 and I don't think 145 or 151 is in the cards for me, but I really believe that I should be able to get to the 170s if not the 160s....

Now that I'm back on track, I will CHEER when I break past 187.

179...I've been lower but 180 was where I always got stuck before, so 179 is significant to me.
165...It was when I was dehydrated so it was a "fake" low, but I've seen 166 on the scale before, so I want to hit a new low.
143...I guess my goal is rather random. It happens to be exactly 65lbs down from my start weight but that's not why I picked it, I just wanted a goal in the middle of my healthy weight range and that's the number that popped in my head.

I would love to reach 167. The lowest I've got was to 168 but that was short lived. The 160s are a big deal to me.

Right now, I'm 252....

My first hurdle was 260.
Now, it's 249....
The next one is 229 (have no idea why).
After that 199!!!!

Hello Nurse

230 - lowest I got before getting off track and gaining back into the 290's :(

212 - weight I was when hubby and I started dating, cannot wait to be back there!

Laureedee,

We're the same height and I've never weighed 143, even when I was a varsity athlete in college. I do see a lot of people who are 5'8" and in the 140s, but my daughter, who is sixteen and plays two varsity sports usually weighs around 170, and she's an inch shorter than me.

I think it depends on your build. I have a muscular body type and it has always been really hard for me to maintain a weight under 160, even though I spent a lot of my youth trying.

143 might be perfect for you, but I'm just throwing it out there that I think at our height, some of us are good at a higher weight than that.

Here's a picture of me at about 190, and I don't think I really look like I'm fifty pounds overweight.

169 is a Huge milestone number for me. When I get down to this one I know I look cuddly rather than FATTTTTTT. It's also the number that **this time** I'll start kicking my own butt at, because I can get complacent around it.

139 is an even bigger number for me. It's 1lb under 10 stone, and I know I look 'normal'. It's the weight at which I'm comfortable talking about diety stuff with other 'normal' people.

135 is the number at which I will sob uncontrollably and cheer uncontrollably alternately. It's 1lb more than last time (2004). It's the weight at which I felt carefree and confident. At the same time, I know I'll regret the 7 fat years I piled onto it last time. More butt-kicking, I fancy!!

229 is my current one as well! :D I can't wait...I can see it looming! I think my largest goal number is 180. I know I can make that by next summer and that is such and exciting thought! Of course I know you feel the same way about 199...how awesome will that number be!?

I agree, you don't! I, however, look a good 40lbs overweight, nevermind only being about 20lbs actually overweight. And I have lots of excess fat on my stomach (and everywhere else) and I think getting rid of even just 75% of that would take a good 30-40lbs. As I mentioned, I've been to 166 and it was obvious that I had a good ways to go then.

Really though, I'm not married to 143. If I'm healthy and love how I look at 160, I'll stop there!

LOL. I would also love to weigh 143, but I'd be very happy at 160. My body, thus far, has refused to go below 187, but I'm determined to see the 160s again.

220! It's one I haven't really been able to break through. My first time losing a lot of weight, I didn't weigh myself, I just went by sizes, but I don't think I got much lower than 220. This time, I am determined to do it!

Hi all! I'm rather fixated on 215. I have no idea why. (It is my former area code...:) )

I'm dreamy (like many) about 199 too.

After that, I gotta say that 169 sounds pretty groovy. I remember (very briefly!) weighing 160 in high school. So to be within 10 pounds of that feels like the place to be.

Have a great week all! :)

254 was my #2 pre-pregnancy weight
197 is my #1 pre-pregnancy weight (2008) (and the weight I want to hit before we start trying for baby #3)
183 is weight on my wedding day (or thereabouts)
164 is weight I was when I met my DH
154 is healthy weight range for my height.

I honestly have no idea what to expect when I get below 197. DH and I started dating when I was 16 and got married when I was 18, so I don't think those are "adult" weights. We'll see. I was a size 14 at 197lbs (but that was pre-babies) and I really, really want to get into a single digit pants size. We'll just have to see where I land.

hitting 220 was HUGE for me, bigger than breaking 300 or 200 actually LOL I think because that was the last time I felt "normal" about 20 years ago.

I thought I'd be happy enough to stay at that but the way I decided to live and eat and move made it possible to coast on down to about 160 and stay there woohooo

160 still seems like a ridiculous weight to me still LOL like "NO ONE could ever weigh LESS than 160!!!" hahahah it's weird

Yep!
240 was a magic number because I weighed in the 240's for most of the last 10 years.
230 was magic because that's the lowest weight I attained the last (and only other) time I lost weight.
225 was a goal because that's what it said on my driver's license.
Next big one is 199!
After that is 180 because I want to weigh less than my brother! :D From there, anything else is gravy!

Oh, Can I put mine in too?
Don't normally post in this group - normally hang out in the 300 club so I certainly quailfy!

My numbers
106 Kilos or 233lbs because I haven't weighed less than that for at least two decades, and I thi Still 35 kilos away...

90 kilos or 199 lbs - onederland obviously; but more importantly the weight a really rude doctor said to me " you are so overweight - even if you could get down to 90 kilos - thats obviously still far too fat but at least it would be better than the weight you are NOW....
* sigh* needless to say, I didn't go back to him, but it suck in my mind....

My "magic numbers" don't have sentimental value, but I think they represent me getting healthier. I divided the weight I hope to lose into quarters, so each quarter (245, 210, 175, and 140) will be important to me. I also have slightly less exciting goals using the BMI: 216 (Class I Obese), 185 (Overweight), and 154 ("normal") are all numbers I'm looking forward to.

I think the most magical of my magical numbers is 175. After that, I can say that I'm halfway there! :D
