Hi All - I'm new.
I want to start eating more rice, but I get so confused over the measurements.
What I mean is when cooked the rice obviously grows in weight and therefore calories - so what dry amount do you weigh out to get the idea amount and calories when cooked?

I always measure mine dry and cook it seperately from everyone elses, cos when its cooked I just want to eat it and don't want to be measuring it. Or I cook 10 portions at once and divide it into zip lock bags and freeze it to save all the hassle.
It depends how much rice you want to eat/how many cals/points etc you want to use up. I have 3oz dry weight, that is a large portion.

I remember being told years ago that 1 ounce of dry rice cooks up to approximately 3 ounces. Have never actually weighed before and after to see is that is true or not.
I tend to weigh mine dry and cook it seperately too.

Thanks guys:)
I'll probably stick to the '1 ounce of dry rice cooks up to approximately 3 ounces', otherwise I'll just get paranoid with all the measurements.
